While Nami has some good outfits, I actually hate both her default outfits (Romance Dawn and Fishman Island), so I wanted to give her a default one that I actually like and tells us about her character. I went with a tropical theme just because that’s what I like and that’s what Fishman was going for.

It’s hard to tell but her top has this pattern of oranges kinda like Leshawna’s shirt in Total Drama Island. It’s also got a gave underneath. The skirt is also supposed to look like a wave. She’s wearing an orange swimsuit underneath in case she’s near a body of water.

In the Unlimited Adventure game, she has her staff broken up in three and attached at her hip. I really liked that so I stole that idea. I gave her more jewelry because she likes fancy expensive stuff. No reason for giving her gladiator boots other than she’s worn them before.

As for more stylistic stuff, I kept her pre Timeskip short hair because I just like it better. I also think orange and blue is just a nice color scheme. She has more realistic proportions because I am not drawing anybody that thin. Her skin’s a bit pink because she’s always in the sun. That’s also why she has freckles. I gave her some small scars everywhere. It’s not too visible but she has more near her tattoo from when she was stabbing her previous tattoo.

Anyway, she’s my beautiful princess.

royal gals from arc 1! i used this as a way to further illustrate and explore my fashion headcanons, and i love how these turned out. design notes under the cut!

CORAL: i wanted her to look deceptively kind and bubbly, so i tend to draw her big and round like a whale. two inspiration for her design are king dorephan from breath of the wild and granmamare from ponyo. i give her a big coral crown and pearl jewelry. she has a lot of teardrop shapes bc she's probably sad about a lot of things

GLACIER: my favorite queen <3 i wanted her to look regal and no-nonsense but kind. with the exception of her crown, most of her accessories are very sleek and minimalistic. and of course i had to give her glasses because i'm obsessed with giving dragons glasses. i can't decide if the spikes on that crown are opal or enchanted ice, but the studs are black tourmaline.

SCARLET: the og bad bitch!! i love designs that make her look like the world's scariest, swankiest peacock, and the animated wings design was a huge inspiration here. her face markings are meant to look like a helmet. the mail vest she's wearing here is more for show than protection, an ostentatious piece she wears around the palace rather than something she'd don in battle. this is generally the fit i imagine she would wear to court sessions and arena matches.

MOORHEN: i would love to know more about her tbh. i like the colors i gave her, i think the shades of brown work really well together. the cord around her neck represents her sibs, the knot having four coils to symbolize each of them. she has agate embeds all over her, with the majority on her horns, wings, and wrists/ankles. i imagine she has tattooed wing membranes as well.

GRANDEUR: i wanted to make her look regal and positively ancient, and i think i succeeded well enough. her frill shape vaguely matches glory's, as well as her affinity for orange and gold color accents. the flowers are based on tropical rhododenrons.

BATTLEWINNER: ooo she was fun. basically no opportunity for fashion, as i'm sure anything she'd try to wear would burn or melt in her lava bathtub, but i got to do some fun scarring on her. her snout is all scratched up, one of her horns broke off at some point (i imagine that happened during her throne challenge, and that nightwings spar with their horns like rams or deer. she probably got slammed into a wall or something) and her ears are all kinds of shredded. any water vapor around her face and neck tends to solidify into ice, building up into big sparkly icicles over time.

I talked before about fish Pokemon and that was great, but it's not the only mon series I like. So fuck it, fish Digimon time. This will definitely be less analytical and more me gushing about Digimon I like because I may be a bit out of it right now. Also sorry if I missed any.

Starting at rookie/child level we only have one fish but why would we need more when we have Swimmon?

Loot at it, it's amazing! It's some some sort of tropical fish, obviously, but with some embellishments, like the beak full of teeth. I love how colorful and pointy it is. It works great as a rookie for so many aquatic lines. I think some great lines for it would be Swimmon -> Coelamon -> Piranimon -> MetalPiranhimon or Swimmon -> Tobiumon -> DIvemon -> Surfimon. Speaking of which...

I'm going over champion/adult Digimon together and starting with Coelamon.

It's a coelacanth! Coelacanths are amazing as some of the last lobe-finned fish. In this case, the lobes have been exaggerated into proper limbs, like how lobe-finned fish are the ancestors of tetrapods through intermediate limbed fish stages like tiktaalik. Its armor might also be based on placoderms, extinct fish with bony armor.

We have surprisingly few shark Digimon, but one we do have is Tobiumon, and it's amazing.

A shark with arms that can fly with its fins is such a Digimon concept that all it needs are some guns to be peak Digimon. It even has a remora missile launcher on its chest!

The armor Digimon give us several fish, and while I don't think any of them particularly work as armor evolutions, they're fine as Digimon on their own. And before anyone mentions it, Tylomon is a tylosaurus, not a fish. The first is Manbomon, and while it's a terrible armor evolution for Patamon, A mola mola wearing boxing gloves is such a goofy concept I can't help but love it.

Next is Seahomon, which is pretty obviously a seahorse, but its snout is a trumpet and it has a cape that turns into wings I guess? I dunno, it's a pretty weird one.

My favorite of the three is Mantaraymon. Despite the name, it doesn't have a manta ray's face, instead having a rostrum like a shovelnose ray or even maybe a dolphin. I do like how they used Patamon's ears as the cephalic fins.

Mantaraymon also has a more mechanical X-antibody variant that gives it kind of a stealth fighter vibe. I kind of like it more than the original Mantaraymon, which is saying something since I usually don't like X-antibody Digimon.

Moving onto the ultimate/perfect level we have a new mon from China, Huankunmon.

I love this design so much. Its based on the peng, a mythical creature that can turn from a bird to a fish. Fittingly, Huankunmon's line goes from a bird (Xiquemon) and goes to a bird/fish/dragon hybrid (Xiangpengmon). It'a also based on a flying fish since it can fly with a swimming motion. And it can turn invisible. There's nothing not to love about it.

Next is Piranimon, and look at this absolute beast

Some might call it overdesigned, but I absolutely love it. I particularly dig the tail being a fish hook covered in barbed wire. Its based on a red-bellied piranha, but the pop-culture version where they're bloodthirsty monsters that attack everything they see. Real piranhas are not like that. The helmet it wears may also be based on placoderms, some of which only had the bone armor on the front of their bodies.

Finally at this level, we have Divemon.

I'm not as big of a fan of this as I am of the other two, but I do like the Polynesian-style tattoos it has. Its a combination hammerhead shark and professional swimmer.

Maxing out at the mega/ultimate level we have MetalPiranimon.

While I appreciate any fish megas, I think this is a step down from Piranhimon. It's just a red-bellied piranha with a big metal head dragging around a counterweight. I'm not saying its bad, I'm just saying that Piranhimon is better. Fun fact, Metalpiranhimon came first. Piranhimon was designed because someone thought it was weird that there's a MetalPiranhimon but no regular Piranhimon. There are a few examples of that in Digimon, like SkullBaluchimon coming before Baluchimon.

Next is Regalecusmon, which might be stretching the definition of fish a bit, but it does have an oarfish for a head.

I really like this design, especially it using Zudomon's horn as a sword and what looks like Ebidramon's claw as a shield. I think it would make a great villain for an aquatic episode or storyline of a show. Maybe like a more modern version of MetalSeadramon from Adventure.

Finally, we have Surfimon.

It's a mechanical shark man riding a rocket-powered hammerhead shark surfboard with a buzzsaw on the front. We have reached peak Digimon, people. And even better, it was created by a fan as part of a contest. Frankly, it's a shame that it hasn't gotten any appearances in the anime or games. I don't get why some fan-made Digimon can go onto have major appearances like Dobermon, Cyberdramon, and SoundBirdmon while others get ignored. A lot of them don't even have art. I'd be pretty bummed if I was a kid who won a contest to have my design become official and then it was never used. I think Surfimon should get an anime appearance and the English dub should make it talk like a Californian surfer dude.

Zayn Malik Launches New Non-Alcoholic Cocktail — with Replicas of His Tattoos on the Cans (Exclusive)

Zayn Malik is going in a new direction — the non-alcoholic drink business.

On Tuesday, the musician, 30, announced that he is joining alcohol-free drink brand Mixoloshe as the chief creative officer and co-owner. To celebrate the announcement, the “Love Like This” singer released his first mocktail: the lychee martini.

“The non-alcoholic beverage market is ready for disruption,” Malik said in a statement, shared first with PEOPLE. “We see consumers already shifting preferences towards healthier and alcohol-free alternatives, which provides an opportunity for a brand like Mixoloshe to redefine this industry.”

The One Direction alum shot an edgy ad campaign in Turks & Caicos to reveal the drink and his new role.

In the commercial, the “Pillow Talk” singer is sipping on the non-alcoholic lychee martini by the water. The video shows off the unique design of the can, which was inspired by Malik’s tattoos and features exact replicas of some of them, including one on his arm that reads "ZAP!"

The new flavor is described by the brand as “sweet, floral and slightly tropical” and emphasizes the same focus on real ingredients that other Mixoloshe drinks boast. PEOPLE got a preview of the lychee martini and taste testers were taken with both the sophisticated fruity flavor and its ability to deliver a boozy smell without any alcohol.

Mixoloshe has seven other canned non-alcoholic cocktails including a tropical smoky margarita and blueberry gin and tonic. The female-founded brand also sells alcohol-free tequila, gin and whiskey.

“I could not be more excited about the chance to make some noise in the category of non-alcoholic beverages," Malik added in the statement, "and build one of the most talked about drinks in the world."

A four pack is available at Walmart for $10, and 12 packs are available exclusively online through Walmart, Amazon and Mixoloshe for $35.

Just a little bonus post, this is my protagonist character Mori, short for Morianon. He's part of a humanoid avian species I've been calling the Quetzalin, pretty much the only people species in my worldbuilding that did not evolve naturally but were actually created by a Life entity that liked to experiment in some really weird ways. Most Life entities just poke and prod evolution in certain directions, but this particular entity wanted to do more. Maybe I'll go more into detail on that later, lol, but for now i just wanted to show of Mori's fun summer style.

Being a tropical avian species, Quetzalin males typically grow fancy courting feathers half the year and the hormonal shift also drives them to adorn themselves with as much glitter and color as they can manage. Mori does not live amongst his own people, but he still loves to decorate himself in the courting season, and his wife is happy to help with his makeup.

(I say males to keep it simple, but the quetzalin views of sex and gender don't really follow a simple binary like that, i could make a whole post on this topic)

Captain Qirani of Curoq~

It's been a while since I drew my tropical pirate lord and thief queen, Qirani! About a year and a half, I think. o.o While featuring as an NPC in the Pirates of Axia homebrew campaign, she's absolutely fun to voice and draw and I finally reached a point in my skills where I could do her more justice! <3 Especially that tattoo on her back. I had concepts for it years ago but I wasn't quite happy with it then. Silly me, I'd forgotten a key element! The sun! The design blends different Polynesian elements with Celtic elements and was fun (if challenging!) to design. :D

Qirani's ended up collecting a few stray young'uns in her time, playing the role of the "Cool and Scary Aunt/Mom" to a handful of younger characters both campaign-active and non-campaign-active. The sort of woman who can, has, and will upend a sailor over the side of the ship or docks; at the same time, tuck a scared or lost kid under her wing to keep 'em safe and out of trouble.

I keep seeing people designing the Aph states and so I just wanna describe how I imagine Hawaii because I have never seen this design.

Hawaiii first has muscles, they were a country before! They are strong!

Alfred will trust them with managing the other states while he’s gone.

Likes being shirtless covered in tattoos and some scars or just the scars.

He will teach alfred some fighting styles from Hawaii and makes really good food.

He is taller than alfred even if it’s just slightly.

He often dislikes the American government but likes Alfred’s company as he is the American people, not the government.

Will wear tropical dad vacationing stuff or traditional Hawaiian garments, it depend on the day.

I’m really just imaging a tall Hawaiian man with a look of being done with everything being soft with the states

And maybe he knows Yao cuz they’re both old. Like this man just stops into a meeting because alfred forgot to bring anything for lunch so he made him food so he wouldn’t eat anymore of “that shitty fast food you like” and Yao just sees him and is like “your alive?!” And he’s like yeah and they could be like enemies, freinds ,freinds of freinds, former lovers and alfred is just like happy for the food and is just watching things happen and all the others are just very confused about Al this because they didn’t even know the states are represented and that Alfie has been working with 50 rumbasses.

they are especially confused that Alfred addresses him as family.

This could also mean that all the other states that were absorbed could be represented so all the older counties seeing the family they sold or gave up again could be perfect for angst, fluff, reallly just a lot.

Also Louisiana is definetlh named Louis (potential deadbame Louisa) [francis is just happy to see him]

also potential family angst because not every state is welcoming to foreigners so they would probably be mean to the foreign states while the really nice ones would be really hyped so lots of mixed emotions

and potential chance for them to meet alaska and be like “ why does this child look like a fusion between Russia and America” ( maybe a genetics experiment they did, maybe just chance, who knows?)

Hi, do you see HL as a couple who are in a long distance relationships? And if yes, do you think they might struggle to be with each other for too long, if Harry actually likes to be away for awhile? I mean if they both are free from work, do you think Harry might still go alone for a week to one of his friends in Italy (as we saw him during the pandemics or before he was vacationing with gerbers in Canada)?

Oh, that's a good question actually, if they're in a long distance relationship. When i think of a long distance relationship i think of two people who are together but live seperately far from each other. I think H and L live together and have their base in London. They are, however, travelling for work often so they see each other in person as seldom as someone who's in a long distance relationship would. But, no, by that definition they aren’t in a long distance relationship.

I don't think they're struggling being together for too long. They lived together for a long stretch of time in the pandemic (up north, they were both spotted). I think this fandom don't understand the difference between work for them and time off. I see it all the time. What some see as them on vacation might actually be them working. Harry hanging out with the G*rbers was 100% work. They're the most fame hungry family out there (only beat by the Kardash*ans) and the press and relationship between the parties benefited both H and the G*rbers. Harry driving to Italy was for work, but he probably combined it with some leisure time on the road while he was there. Same when he's papped in Civita.

A good rule of thumb: Is H papped or not? If he is papped it's a set up situation, and that means he's working. No matter if he's in Mustique or outside Sony hq. Both is work. He's just in a nice office when he's in Mustique. H rarely has time off/takes real time off work, but when he does he's totally mia, like he has been for weeks now. Same goes for Louis. They both probably don't see their career as "real work" and probably have a poor work/life balance because of their careers. They have hired teams and crews who does a lot for them, so they only do the fun parts of "work". I think L and H schedule time to be together, and they see each other more than it might seem.

When H has to write an album he's like 'let's go to Jamaica'. When he has to negotiate and sign a fashion deal, and perhaps design stuff he's like let's go to Italy and have a nice dinner afterwards. When he has to stunt (image rehab for Cord*en and tattoo reveal) he's like let's go to Civita, i have a house there. Let me bring Gemma along too, and we'll spend a few days in the sun. We can go through Jeffys new brand deal proposals over a glass of red by the pool. We can also make a decision on the new nail polish colours for plea*ing. Or i'll go to Italy to meet up with Alessandro to see if we can continue our fashion line now that he's left Gucci and have talks with Fendi and Prada while i'm there. He's a busy guy and a workaholic. H in a tropical place or simply being off tour doesn’t mean he's off work.

2. What's something about your OC that people wouldn't expect just from looking at them?

see the thing is by design xarrai looks like Just Another Bard, esp if we're talking about like pre-game when they're just living their life in baldur's gate. sure they’re like, a 6'7" (if we count the horns n everything) purple tiefling who's covered in tattoos but the gate is a big city and that's not really all that unusual. there are plenty of things one wouldn't expect just from looking at xarrai but that's kind of their whole thing. sooooo here is a kind of silly and fun example i haven't talked much about: they have such a soft spot for tiefling kids. they're immediately smitten with the kids in the grove and half the reason they actually end up helping the tieflings out is because they don't want anything to happen to them. they nearly start shit with kagha over the whole thing with arabella and are just barely talked down by gale (much to astarion's disappointment lol.) mol and mattis remind them so much of themself (or at least of the child they could have been) and i do think xar keeps an eye on mol in the guild post-game, or at least whenever they're in baldur's gate. they would never ever want to be a parent (and would make a frankly abysmal one at that. like can u imagine them and astarion trying to raise a child? the thing would need therapy before it could talk.) but they are fond of the little shits. they're fond of yenna too (they were also an outer city street kid once after all) but the tiefling kids just Get Them.

honestly i think ieriyn is kind of an open book, at least early/pre-game. you can pretty easily predict like. most things about this kid in one look. BUT i do think once someone gets to know him they find that despite being sheltered and naïve he really does have a strong sense of right and wrong and a soft heart. he's just like. spoiled and stupid about it. he also has a dry sense of humor that takes a minute to really notice.

and here's a silly one too: i think he's really into houseplants. he's a houseplant girlie. his room at home is full of lush tropical plants and he loves taking care of them :) (as long as he can wash his hands immediately after touching the dirt. he hates dirt. he has autistic tboy swag for real.)

14. How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?

hmm okay so this is... it depends i think on who we're talking about. xarrai is constantly trying to show other people exactly who or what they want to see - patriars see a pretty whore, tavern patrons see a flamboyant bard, the guild sees a talented information broker, the list goes on. for the first section of the game, every member of the party sees someone different in them too because they're trying to secure their control over the situation and others are more likely to listen to them if they think xarrai is trustworthy. it doesn't take long before the party starts to notice that their views of xarrai don't line up tho tbh; it's hard to maintain like six different personas, even if the differences are only slight. (this does cause some trust issues, especially with lae'zel who already did not get along super well with xar lol.) generally though the kind of Core Vibe they're trying to put off is someone carefree and unassuming. they don't want to give anyone too much insight into what they're thinking or feeling, and they would much rather be underestimated than properly appraised. they sort of try to hide their "real" skills behind their more "showy" ones - if someone is praising them for being a great storyteller they're likely not paying attention to the way that story is being spun, and if someone is busy thinking about how good xarrai is at giving head they probably don't notice that they've stolen half the gold from their purse lol

ieriyn desperately wants people to see him as Worthy. of what he's not entirely sure honestly - love? praise? care? power? he's trying really hard to seem competent and in control but he's largely just scared and lost and alone. like. he's terrified of his magic because it's unpredictable and hard to control but he wants people to think he's good at it, and tbf, he does have raw talent he absolutely is a Magical Gifted Kid (again. autistic tboy swag), he's just being held back by his own fear. he just wants people to see him as special and worthy of the greatness he tries to pretend he deserves. if that makes sense. idk i am still working on getting a really good solid grasp of ieriyn tbqh
