I am just curious, but...

It is no secret that fandom has been going through somewhat of a dry spell when it comes to comments. I am curious as to why you don't comment. I truly believe collectively as a community we should really try harder in this regard. It is so easy to find fanfiction and just read it, and often there is an 'endless' supply where we continue on. I think we often forget people don't get paid to write fanfiction and that writers really are doing something kind for the fandom. The most we can do is try to comment to show our appreciation. This goes for me, too as I really want to become better in the comment area.

Simple wish, to be able his friends, only once, that he's happy to have them and that he loves and cherishes them

A bit of a Mr. Captain Obvious, but his blunt nature makes it so that someone says what might need to be said

Level-headed and serious (was once a bubbly, starry-eyed girl who wished to make people happy)

There is not much of a shine in her eyes

Sorcerer's apprentice to Magnifico

Her father died when she was 12 (concept art notes)

She became Magnifico's apprentice a year and a day after her father passed

Her mother was never the same after her father died, like a lot of the light in her eyes was gone

Magnifico and Amaya, as guilty as she is to admit it, are sort of like parents to her after her father died and her mother changed

She could always... sense that something was just wrong with people who got their wishes taken away, something that no one could see or if they did they didn't say

But she could always tell, she sees how there's this lost look in their eyes, or the energy they once had is lost, or any passion they once had for things they loved is gone (especially if its something that could've been their wish, but that's speculation on her part)

Not too fond of the wishing system as a result, but she knows better than to disagree with the King and Queen

As Magnifico's apprentice, she's gotten to observe the wishes granted a lot more closely than others outside of Queen Amaya. She has a few notes: 1. Materialist wishes are much more likely to get granted Examples: A man once wished for the head of a magnificent beast to be mounted on his wall as a sign of his many accomplishments as the greatest hunter A woman wished for purple glass slippers that never break nor hurt her feet 2. If the wish was already in progress of being granted by the person's own merit it's also "granted" Examples: as a young girl, Asha knew a talented and hardworking chef wished to own a successful restaurant that everyone from all over the world would come to. Magnifico only "granted" the wish by magically doing the complicated process of the paper work of opening said restaurant a young couple wished for kids, as their dogs just had some pups. Magnifico "granted" their wish but the truth is that they had already conceived by then

Asha's loyalty lies with her Kingdom

Seeing the voids makes him so sad because he's a being made of and for wishing

A bit of stardust from him gives them the same life back as to what they were before their wish was taken

Is a firm believer in that people can grant their own wishes, and rarely do humans ever need the aid of a star in granting many of their wishes

Due to his age his magic is severely limited, as a regular star in the sky he's pretty old by human standards, but as a wishing star he's around Asha's age

He can't be on Earth forever because his time there slowly drains his powers, and while he can sort of recharge at night, it's not enough to sustain him forever, it just buys him time

He can also sort of feed off of magical energy Asha gives him

Wishing stars get their power from wishes fulfilled and wishes granted

But due to the wishes of the people of Rosas being taken away, granting them doesn't restore his energy unless it's a wish they still possess, which few do

Garashir Wedding Registry

Announcing the Garashir Wedding Registry, an ao3 prompt challenge collection for marriage- and wedding-related Garashir fanfics!

I got married a few weeks ago, and my wonderful friend @wanderingwriter87 wrote me a Garashir fic, a slight complication, as a wedding gift! My spouse saw how happy I was after receiving this gift fic and joked that we should have made a wedding registry that just asked for various fanfics, and I was like "...okay, hold on a second, that’s actually genius" lmao!

So! I’ve decided to use the occasion to humbly request/encourage some Garashir (well, mostly Garashir*) marriage fics from the fandom! (*My two most cherished cursed rarepairs, Sloanshir and Siskarak, will also appear briefly in the prompt list as well, so just scroll on by those prompts if you only are interested in Garashir lol. hi panda, i’ve been wondering how you plan your fanfics? i’ve been struggling with writer’s block for the past few months now, i’ve got so many ideas floating around my head, but no solid direction for my plan. i’ve been reading all kinds of fics to give me some inspiration for the story, but i don’t want it to seem like i’ve copied the ideas of other authors. i absolutely love trapper, keeper, it is so unique and i haven’t read COD fic quite like it before. the way you portray König is fantastic, exactly how i imagine him - do you have any tips for writing characters? (specifically König) i think i’m so hesitant about starting because I don’t want to end up writing OOC.

hii ☺️ sorry you've been struggling. writer's block is the worst!

i get the most stuck and frustrated when I'm writing and it's not immediately "perfect". you have to be okay with letting your first draft be "bad" and "OOC". you just need to write it, even if it's "he went to the kitchen. she woke up and got out of bed. she's limping. something about his eyes over the rim of the coffee cup" just get the main beats out. my first attempts at TK chapters are always terrible lol and i am so glad no one else can read them. konig and Hase are a bit all over the place. the dialogue sounds cheesy or repetitive or porny. the actions are confusing. the scenes are barren. but then i edit it and edit it until it feels better.

i do have a numbered outline which helps me focus my ideas a bit. it's messy and incoherent, but it's how i collect my ideas/descriptions/bits of dialogue

as far as copying - not to sound bleak, but no idea is really truly 100% new and unique. big scary man kidnapping reader and keeping her locked away isn't a novel idea. but what makes it unique is that it's written in my style, with the scenes, descriptions, dialogue, and inner thoughts that i want to portray.

it's okay to do the same idea again. tropes are popular for a reason!

i love tropes and want to read 500 variations of the same thing! as long as you're not actually taking an author's fics and copying portions or doing the same story beat for beat, i don't think it's wrong to write something "inspired" by another fic. on AO3 you can actually mark a fic as your inspiration as a way to credit the author. :3

Yes. Always. It's just wonderful to get feedback. I read and respond to every single comment. They mean the world to me, truly.

Probably No Good Advice. I ended up writing Moments multi-chapter as I (and a friend) couldn't bear the idea they didn't end up together lolol.

All of them, tbh. I can't write an unhappy ending. Maybe the mushiest is Second Son, Moments, or It Had To Be You.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Luckily not much yet. I did get one hate anon early on. It wasn't about a specific fic, though. It said they didn't know why I had a 'please don't steal my work' disclaimer (the standard one that most writers here use) cos I was delusional that my work was worth stealing. 🤷‍♀️

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes, it's my trademark. It's rare when I don't write smut. 😬 I'm not sure what is meant by kind of smut. I've written it all, from vanilla romantic sex to kink threesomes with harnesses and double penetration lol. I haven't had a request yet that I've turned down due to sexual content.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Not yet. The closest I've gotten is It Had To Be You, which is based on When Harry Met Sally.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes, sadly, it has happened quite a few times now. I was so fed up with filing copyright takedown notices that I set up a Wattpad account to try to counter it.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No. I've been offered but have turned it down. I have no way to check that any translation would get across the nuance I aim for. So I know that may be anglo-centric, but its how I feel for now.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not yet, but I am always threatening to lolol.

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

Hmm, tough one. I do love Kanthony tbh.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Benedict as a virgin. I just urghhh.... it's been a WIP for 17 months now. I just dunno why I won't finish it; I just get the feeling I won't.

I have no bloody idea. I'd prefer readers answer that tbh lol. My inclination is to say I don't have one, except perhaps a willingness to describe sex in ridiculous levels of detail? Is that a strength?

World building. I will do anything to shortcut it. I'll find an economical way to describe a situation e.g. she's a widow; they're old friends. Got it? Good! Let's get down to business.

here’s to a year of trigun :] just a cute little (1k. oops.) essay reflecting back on how it’s changed my life.

You know that strange, dissatisfying limbo between hyperfixations? That was me in January. A 2-year long obsession with Genshin Impact was dragging itself to its grave and I was struggling with life. I got diagnosed with a rare chronic pain disorder at around the same time I caught mono and strep simultaneously (that week SUCKED), classes were kicking my ass, and I was experiencing the existential loneliness of adulthood for the first time. 

University student things! 

And to make it all extra unbearable, my writing was empty. Soulless. I’d write something for a zine and go damn—this shit is awful. Not because it was technically flawed or anything, but there was just…nothing there. I would stare at my stats page on Ao3 waiting for comments and then bitterly complain at my friends when no one wanted to read my work. Hell, I don’t think I wanted to read my work. I’m sure you know the feeling. 

And because my writing is how I cope with Everything, being unable to write made the Everything so, so much worse.

Then—and I forget exactly how I heard about it—I learned that Trigun Stampede had just released its fourth episode. I knew of Trigun from a buddy of mine who had been excitement-posting about the reboot months before, but all I knew about the reboot was that Yoshitsugu Matsuoka was voicing the main character. I had a free afternoon—why not give it a try? 

I still have my liveblogging from January. Here was my initial reaction:

I was having a great fuckin’ time. 

February rolls around and I am immediately, irreversibly, hit with Plantcest brainrot so bad that I discard any pretense of being icked out by brocest ship and I write a 9k long KV thesis called “we’ve got to get back to that stinking garden,” named after a Natalie Diaz poem called “my brother named gethsemane,” which is, truly and genuinely, The Poem on Brothers (Complicated) of all time. That fic is where the visions and prophesies came back, where I started feeling like my writing was impactful again. Like it meant something. It was my first ever foray into in-narrative smut and the first of many, many attempts to capture a future where Vash and Knives love each other even after the end of everything. 

This is really where I found my footing on Twitter and as a short story writer, I think. Where I started really caring about making every word of a narrative pay rent, about conveying and evoking specific, tangible feelings, and exploring genres of media I’d never really been interested in before. Before February, I wrote mostly genfic and T-rated romance. Every so often, I’d dabble in some graphic violence. 

And hey! Now I write hardcore kink and graphic erotica. The gore I used to dabble in is now something I dive into feetfirst and with a rabid desire to make it as sexy as possible. I fetishize the crease of an elbow and the bristly sections of an undercut and I write about brothers having nasty, angry, dubiously consensual sex. I could not possibly tell you how I got here, but shit, man, I don’t regret a damn thing. 

It’s through Trigun that I met some of the most talented, sweetest, most encouraging folk. Plantcest creators, Vashwood creators, people who saw me writing ZazieVash and went hello motherfucker please feed me some more, Romeryl enthusiasts, Kniveswood and Plantwood enjoyers…shit, guys. You’re all so fucking cool.

I got invited to a zine for the first time, I started taking commissions (and holy shit, what the fuck, I still can’t wrap my head around that at all. The fuck you mean, you’ll pay me Real Actual Money for personalized fic? Insane to me. I’m so goddamn grateful.) for the first time, and hell, I published a poetry collection for the first time. Which people downloaded? And tipped me for? What the fuck? I’m still reeling from that. Thank you, by the way. Genuinely. 

What else this year…well. I commissioned art for the first time, I participated in more big bangs and exchanges than ever, I read voraciously and wrote with just as much fervor. I watched ‘98 and I cried and I read half of TriMax and cried some more. I wrote more erotica than I ever have, and I wrote more fic that I’m genuinely, painfully proud of this year than any other year. 

A lot of my writing is about grief and rage, and a lot of it is about trying to be funny in the face of that. A lot of is about learning to live, because that’s what I’m doing right now, despite everything. A lot of it is about trying to be kind. 

But in summary, because this is getting ridiculously long, here’s what I got out of Trigun:

Vash the Stampede refuses to die. I’m trying to emulate that. 

Meryl Stryfe cares about doing the right thing, even if it means she’ll get in the middle of a fight between aliens armed with two bullets in a tiny pistol. 

Wolfwood is carefully, disastrously kind. I want to be like that.

And Knives is nuttier than a Victorian lady in a room painted in arsenic green, but still. I love him anyway. 

And Milly :] no thoughts about Milly. I love Milly because she is also incredibly kind :] 

Trigun has changed my entire goddamn life this year. I think it’s made me a better person. It’s certainly made me a better writer, and it’s connected me to so many lovely and beautiful people. Thank you all for sticking around, and here’s to another year of love, peace, and unhinged porn. I love you all :]

Oh my goodness thank you so much for such a detailed answer and for entertaining my long, rambling mess of an ask. I appreciate you and I LOVE learning more about your writing process. It’s so interesting to me and it makes me appreciate the fic even more knowing how much work and care you and SaiyanWitcher put into every chapter. I will ask again at the end of WYGIG to find out what foreshadowing moments you loved the most, I promise! And in the meantime I am so excited to see what things I’m right about and what things are gonna surprise me! (Also I think I’m already wrong about the Kelly thing because I forgot in ch2 that Charles said she didn’t have a mating bite, so my new prediction is that Max was helping Kelly escape from a bad situation and that Max’s mum was the one he saw go through mate withdrawal, but don’t tell me if I’m right! And tiny details like the vase thing are truly my favourite thing. Idk, they just are that special something that makes a fic go from amazing to like, god-tier for me. And now since you said you love when people pick up on tiny details, here’s some others I noticed that I loved, just in case me noticing them can also bring you some joy.

Before the auction, Mattia touches his own face when referring to Charles’ muzzle in ch1 and Max gestures at his face similarly in ch2 when trying to get permission from Charles to remove the muzzle (and then the contrast of Mattia’s cruelty and Max’s gentleness that follows those similar actions is !!!!! so good !!) 

I loved how in ch1 when Charles is trying to mentally block out the auction, he focuses on pretending he’s back in his childhood apartment since that was a safe place for him, and then that’s the same place his dreamworld is based on when we see it in ch3!

Charles self soothing by stroking his teddy in ch2 and by stroking the sheets in his nest the same way in ch4 broke my heart a lil.

And Charles described Max’s scent as most collecting on petals of daffodils and jasmine when Max was trying to calm him down in ch3 and then max describes Charles’ scent as strawberries and jasmine in ch4. Love the subtle overlap, those boys are meant to be (even if it’s a Rough Start)!!!

This ask is now longer than my first outrageously long ask, I am so so sorry. And I don’t even have a question so def don’t feel obligated to reply to this one LOL. But I have so much love for your writing and so appreciate your willingness to answer my (and everyone else’s) questions about your writing and this story!!

anon, I need you to understand that I've had a really difficult week writing WYGIG. I know exactly what has to to happen, and I'm so excited for the next chapter, and yet I am struggling to get words down on the paper.

Your previous ask, and now this one, are so immeasurably delightful to me and they are the exact type of thing I needed to hear. I don't know if you'll ever be able to understand just how meaningful the things you've said are.

I honestly don't think I even have the words to thank you for your extremely kind and thoughtful asks, so instead I'm giving you what is an extremely meagre offering in return: a snippet from chapter 5.

“Is this your Dreyma Ver-öld?” 

Charles’ fingers slip on the keys, discordant noise filling the air. He whips around on the seat, horror filling him as he sees Max standing in the middle of the living room, dripping water everywhere and looking around curiously. 

“You,” Charles seethes. “What are you doing here?” 

But he already knows the answer, of course. Max claimed him, so just like every other part of his life, Max gets access to this, too. At least he seems to have woken up outside, where it’s still pouring rain. At least there are small justices. 

“Mine doesn’t look like this,” Max says, ignoring the question entirely. 

Charles wouldn’t have any idea what Max’s Dream World might look like. He’ll never get to see it, because to see it he’d have to claim Max back. No, instead, Charles is doomed to a life giving everything to Max and getting nothing in return. 

“Was this your home?” 

Charles grits his teeth and turns back around to his piano, stubbornly refusing to answer. 

“What was the shed outside?” Max asks a few moments later. “I tried to go in, but—” 

“You can’t go in there,” Charles snaps, shoulders hunched. He doesn’t care how confrontational he sounds—he’d rather die than let Max near the memories locked in that shed.

lol okay uh the overwhelming majority of what I read is jaytim that's rated Explicit, so there's, ya'know, a lot of patterns in there that I've self selected for, but attempting to get into a more meaningful answer, I really like the way that fanfic repeatedly digs up old shit and uses it as a catalyst for characters to gain greater intimacy with each other. The constant reinvention and re-contextualization of Jason and Tim's various fights is neat to me

A tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate:

The first online community I truly got involved with is City of Heroes. Loved playing the game when it was live, and I role played in the Homecoming servers for fourteen hours a day, seven days a week, for about five years. I still play every once in a while too! If you see Dread Captain Bones, David Drakal, or Cowboy Cline around, those are me :3 The only issue I have with saying it's this one is that I'm not entirely sure this counts as a fandom?? It really is more a role playing community than anything like a fandom for the game itself, most people only very lightly engage with the setting and it's considered a tad crass to get any of the named canonical characters involved with your character's story lines.

We could very technically count Naruto simply because that was the first one I ever tried to find fanfic for but uhhhhh... I started with ff.net with a super dark E rated fic because I thought E meant for Everyone and bounced off it so hard. I'm very sorry geisha AU naru-sasu fic I read when I was like thirteen, I tried so hard to like you, but my PTSD was not having it lmao

There's also half decent arguments to be made for Marvel comics, Doctor Who, or Vampire the Masquerade simply because my parents are/were such massive nerds lmao

Both of them did a lot of LARP and one of my favorite pictures of my mom is her as either the Sheriff or the Prince of our city ripping someone's heart out via a sponge soaked with fake blood :3 so yeah I def grew up learning about the clans and the lore and such

And this is very much a Marvel household lol My parents used to do story time with me about the X-men, and like they are completely accepting of my metal head and queer stuff, but I feel like it hurts my dad's soul just a little bit that I ended up being so into DC and so uninterested in Marvel. Whenever we talk about some of my (not romance related) plotlines for my DC fics he'll substitute in vaguely equivalent Marvel characters because he simply cannot be asked to dedicate braincells to DC characters lmao

Me: "I'm really looking forwards to writing out how the super geniuses and stuff push the limits of what Jason and Tim did to the diseases."

My Dad, knowing FULL WELL that I am not including any Marvel characters in this fic: "Oh yeah, Reed Richards would go nuts trying to figure that shit out."

My dad also collected Doctor Who episodes, like the ones from 1963 all the way to modernity, I grew up watching the black and white stuff, and for sure tumblr did expose me to Superwholock, through I never felt like I was a part of that.

It might actually be DC comics itself that's my first fandom! I just never really interacted with any sort of online or fandom space directly until Boostle dragged me into DC fandom's sphere of influence.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? this is a tough one bcus a lot of my fics are straight up heart attacks. I usually end up defaulting to a small bit of hope to end things off when I go rlly dark, and the only time I didn’t do that was with “You can lean on my arm as you break my heart”, which is probably my darkest fic anyway. A handful of my fics end ambiguously bleak like that but I think the intensity of that one makes the sort of ambiguous sort of bleak ending extra upsetting. But most of my fics end badly

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Definitely “A vile hunger for your hammering heart” haha. That is one of my favorite fics I’ve written but it’s so niche and stupid it rarely gets any attention 😭🙏

Do you get hate on fics? I only ever got a hate comment once on my tiny Drabble collection, for tagging it as bpd cuz lestat was displaying some heavy bpd traits and they didn’t like that ig. I deleted the comment and vagued them on my tumblr and they showed up in my ask box so I hope this doesn’t summon them 💀. It was funny tho! Rlly rlly confusing stuff😭. But nah otherwise not rlly, which is surprising to me cuz I write some stuff definitely hate worthy 🙏but I don’t think hate is super common on a03, at least in this fandom

I hate this evil ass question 😭 I don’t want to say millennia gate bcus I love her and so many ppl love her but I’ve rlly been struggling to find motivation to write her lately. Millennia gate is a reflection of such a specific time in my life and I used it to vent a bunch of issues I was having, and it’s hard for me to tap into that now that I’ve grown sm as a person. I think and hope that inspiration will come back to me tho cuz I hate the idea of abandoning her 🙏 my love child truly.

What are your writing strengths? I’ve been told I’m good at writing dialogue, themes, and pacing. Ive also been told im good at understanding and portraying characters in a way that’s true to the source material+ compelling, which is good cuz I write fanfic lol. A lot of ppl read my fics cuz they like my metas, so I think that’s a strong suit. I’m also a freak for metaphors 😭 oh my god I use elaborate figurative language in casual conversation, it’s bad. The best praise I ever got was from a teacher, she said I write like Anne rice but way better 😭. I don’t rlly think that’s true, but I love it.

What are your writing weaknesses? I find it hard to be subtle and let my writing speak for itself, I tend to hammer things home a bit too strongly so that the effectiveness wears off. I always fight the urge to write big blocks of unnecessary text just so the audience knows what I’m getting at, over explaining and stuff. I struggle with writing sentences that aren’t super long and clunky. I’m rlly bad with grammar. I can’t spell 😭. I also am blind to the quality of my own writing and tend to over edit unnecessarily cuz I find it hard to open up to beta readers

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I do it all the time. I don’t use google translate, I try to use more deluxe sources when I write in languages I don’t speak because I’d be so embarrassed if I got something wrong 😭. But I rarely write in a language I don’t speak for more then a sentence or two. Once someone who speaks French commented that they loved that they could read the French in my Lestat fic and I was so happy and relieved it was coherent to someone who speaks the language 😭

First fandom you wrote for? The first fandom I wrote for was technically the how to train your dragon books in my childhood notebook, but the first fanfic I ever published was for Harry Potter. I remember it was an angsty backstory fic about Remus lupin, lmao.

Favorite fic you’ve written? it changes, but right now it’s церковь в огне, because I re read and think about it as if it’s a fic I haven’t written 😭. But I have my favorite memories attached to “must have been the wind”, “A vile hungering for your hammering heart” and Millennia gate. hello again! i really liked the fic you wrote for my last request so i have another request for a svt fic with chubby dino this time 😌

basically my thought process is what if after filming when they’re done bullying him on camera, they always take him out for meals afterwards as like an apology lol (can be like all of svt that rotate out to feed him or just one other member, whatever you prefer)

eventually all this nice treatment adds up and dino gets really chubby (bonus points if they all remain oblivious to how fat he’s gotten until filming a more athletic gose and seeing how out of breath he’s getting)

ah dino my beloved. he was one of the major contenders for the third bias that i was deciding on when i was a baby carat. now, he just sits as something that completely floors me every now and again. now that i'm writing this snippet, i realize i haven't actually written anything about my third bias in his own story so ill do that soon-

This is a feederism fic and features weight gain, unintentional weight gain, and stuffing. Don't like, don't read.

"Ah, really? Is that so?" The tone was dripping with sarcasm that only made all of his hyungs burst with laughter as Chan laughed alongside him. It was a schtick that everyone loved. Even Chan played along with it like the good sport he was.

He knew full well that Carats definitely were used to seeing him on the end of the teasing stick when it wasn't one of the other usual suspects and he always accepted it with grace.

"Careful, Seungkwan. You might get a message later." Jihoon spoke lightly, getting more laughs from the rest of the group as Chan laughed, feeling his face grow warm at the reminder of when he wasn't really that good at taking the teasing. He'd matured enough to understand it was never truly meanspirited but everyone had those days.

The filming came to a close after a couple of more minutes and various signs from the crew that they had collected enough footage but they were a group that just went with the flow until it reached a natural stop. Chan took a sip of his water when he felt a tap on his shoulder.

Turning to look a little confused, he was greeted with Seungkwan behind him, looking a little concerned, "Are you okay, hyung?"

Seungkwan shook his head before he spoke quickly, "I just wanted to ask if you wanted to grab food? I know we usually joke like that when filming but I just wanted to make sure you know it's fine."

It was hard to take it personally anymore when he was aware that all twelve of his hyungs, while they definitely gave him a hard time, cared so much that their hearts were bursting at the seams practically. "Ah, hyung~ This is weird~" He teased Seungkwan naturally who raised a fist threateningly, which made Chan laugh fairly loudly.

"It's fine, I've grown a lot since but I won't say no to a meal. We haven't had anything together in a while!" The two beamed as they left, heading to one of their favourite barbecue places.

Plus, it was hard to be upset when he got spoiled fairly often. Seungkwan ended up cooking most of the meat and putting plenty on Chan's plate even after he was saying that he was full. He felt goaded to eat and he did obediently as long as Seungkwan continued to push more food on his plate.

It was rare that he left dinner feeling so full that breathing was a little difficult but it seemed to ease his hyung's conscience, knowing that he ate well and that he wasn't feeling upset about anything that happened earlier even though he probably reassured him five or more times during the meal that he wasn't hurt.

Rubbing his taut stomach, Chan felt the way his abs stretched out. If he ate like this regularly, there'd be no faint traces of anything... so it was a good thing it wasn't going to happen too often. He could afford to indulge every now and then.

As Chan tried to hop into his pants, feeling the way his ass bounced and mocked the waistband of his pants for even thinking he could cover himself with them, his face felt hot at the thought of indulging because it was clear that he had done it more than every now and then given that he couldn't fit in the clothes the stylist had for him even after he had sized up, meaning he had grown even heavier since the first weighing and the fit in that he was currently struggling to fulfill other than in excess.

Chan was someone who was careful with his weight... or at least so he thought. Given that he was one of the shorter members of the group, he was aware that a few pounds here or there displayed more prominently on his figure. But as of late, there were a lot of cases where he ignored his usual diet and it was always tied to one of his hyungs.

In the past couple of weeks, he could swear that basically all of them had taken him out for some reason. Sneaking out with Seungcheol who was cheating on his diet but it was okay because taking Chan out for chicken didn't count towards his daily calories, it was something that he respected even as he helped the oldest hyung finish the second platter of chicken he ordered.

("...Hyung, you said you were cheating on your diet but I didn't think it'd be this much." Chan's eyes were wide while the second platter was placed in front of them, chicken coated in a sweet and spicy sauce as Seungcheol looked ready to devour them.

"It's fine~ Besides, the calories don't count when I'm not eating all of it... and plus, I burned calories after filming today. You were really funny so consider it my treat." Seungcheol cooed at the maknae, who brushed it off but still smiled.

He was already completely full but he felt obligated to help him out since he was being treated. Besides, Seungcheol said the calories don't count, which meant they didn't count for him either)

Going out for drinks with Seokmin who insisted that the drinks weren't good without snacks.

("Yah! We've been eating this whole time that I'm not even getting drunk!" He remembers vividly yelling, just brushing on tipsy when they were already five soju bottles in.

"The mood isn't the same if we don't have snacks!" Seokmin bantered back as Chan groaned, another plateful of dumplings headed towards them.

"C'mon, you love dumplings! What if I just wanted to treat my favourite dongsaeng." The plate was placed on their table with a couple of moments of silence.

"I thought Minghao was your fa-" Chan's comment was interrupted as Seokmin placed a dumpling in his mouth, the taste being so delicious that it was letting him ignore how full he felt.

"Y'know, you're lucky I like this place." And he liked it so much that he practically inhaled the rest of the platter. He didn't get that drunk on the alcohol they continued to order but he certainly felt food drunk.)

Jumping into his pants again, his eyes widened as he heard a small rip. While he had softened up all over, a lot of it settled in his ass. Already something that he had been blessed with, it was rather obscene to the point that he had blown up to. It made it difficult to squeeze the pants together, stretching over as much of his plump behind as it could. Not that it was being helped by the beginner belly that was being pushed back as he sucked in as well as he could.

After a couple of moments and even more held breaths, he managed to button the pants, being careful as he exhaled out. The button creaked ominously as he stopped breathing lest he burst through the biggest pair of pants he could still fit in. His belly pooched over the button and he ran his hands down the swell of his stomach, shocked that this much weight managed to sneak onto him.

He could have just worn trackpants as he was just heading over to Mingyu and Wonwoo's place to have dinner. Mingyu promised to make him some fried squid with spicy sauce and then he was going to learn some games with Wonwoo after. It was rare that they had free time and Mingyu invited him over after filming a different Going Seventeen.

Most of the time, his hyungs were treating him after filming... he should have placed two and two together but at that moment, Wonwoo shot him a text that he could come. Putting on an oversized shirt hid a good amount of the weight still but he was still being careful with his sudden movements lest he burst his pants. The diet would start later.

(He broke out of the pants later that night.

After stuffing himself to the brim on his favourite food with Mingyu, the last thing he expected was for Wonwoo to get snacks for them. Wonwoo had a habit of making sure people were able to get some snacks as well, maybe it was a way to put off his gain because even his hyung was looking a little wider in the middle these days.

But after celebrating a victory over Wonwoo, who had gotten distracted at the empty bowl of chips next to him, Chan felt his button burst and clatter on the floor, which both him and his hyung ignored, something he would be eternally grateful for.)

The diet never truly came through though and Chan was feeling a little anxious about the next Going Seventeen they were filming. Something of a show of strength. The sequel to finding out who the strongest member was and it seemed everyone was fired up.

They had been given track suits and Chan felt incredibly worried when he realized that they had gotten him his old size. He felt Jeonghan's eyes on him before he was pat on the back, "C'mon, Chan. We're going to start filming soon!" Joshua sounded oddly excited given his usual energy about more competitive episodes which made him flush as he nodded.

Stepping into the dressing room, Chan took off his shirt and it was easier to see how much damage had been done. In his tight trackpants that were already upsized, his ass clearly was pushing them to their limit and his stomach was protruding out in a way that competed with his behind. Pliable fat that wasn't stuffed to the brim for once as he looked at the track suit he was meant to wear.

Yeah, that wasn't going to fit.

Vernon walked in a couple of moments after as he looked at Chan's rotund body, "God damn! I knew everyone was treating you to food but did no one notice all this?" Chan sputtered for a moment before Vernon found his way to his side and jiggled the mass, similar to a cat that had found a new toy.

"C-can you just get me an upsized track suit?" Vernon saluted in a typical way that Chan could have never predicted as he walked out, whistling a song that he couldn't quite place but sounded familiar. Examining himself in the mirror, he didn't even hear the conversation that was occurring just outside the door.

("Damnit, how did you know he wouldn't fix his diet?" Jihoon groaned as he transferred money to the party next to him.

"I just know Chan can't really say no considering everyone had the collective idea to make sure that he didn't feel bad about being teased in filming... not that he's cared for a while." Jun sounded rather satisfied with himself. He wasn't the competitive type but he knew his members like the back of his hand.)

Looking at the small uniform, Chan grabbed the jacket curiously as he tried to get it on. His arms were rather flabby so it was a little bit of a struggle to push them through the sleeves that were meant for someone probably half his size. He probably doubled his weight at this point. The thought made his face flush.

Trying to squeeze the jacket together was something of a joke given how it wouldn't even be able to cover half of his belly. It especially wouldn't make it up his ample chest that rested on the gut. Soonyoung had practically bolted in with an extra uniform, "Oh, Chan ah!" He felt himself flush as he watched the older man eye his figure up and down, "Hyung, can you help me get the jacket off?" He wasn't sure how to feel about the reality that he could rip it with how tightly it was on his back.

Soonyoung helped fairly easily but it left Chan out of breath with how much effort it took. He felt a pat on his stomach, the hand sinking in as Soonyoung smiled once again, his eyes disappearing in the usual way, "I was going to ask whether you wanted bibimbap or bulgogi or kimbap for lunch today but I think you can just get one of everything." Chan opened his mouth to protest but Chan's cheeks were squished, a good amount of fat on his face he didn't process until Soonyoung started to dote on it. "You work so hard so you could do with extra food."

His stomach growled loudly and his hand rubbed the side of his gut, shaking it curiously. Well, if they were doing a more athletic Going Seventeen, he was going to burn some calories. Chan looked relaxed as he held the new track suit he was given, "Yeah, since you're treating, that's fine. Thanks, hyung."

A few pounds never hurt anyone and even if he was way more than a few pounds heavier, it was fine since his hyungs were treating him so often.

I’m afraid I haven’t written very many new fics and so I’ll definitely be sounding like a broken record here haha but

1. the sea is yours to take — my love and heart and child forever

2. oasis — another one of my children who is so spunky and really feels like a proper story to me. I realized recently that I do this thing when I’m planning pieces that really makes them just collections of scenes but with oasis there truly is a proper plot and the characters are changed and Stuff is happening. also the characters I love dearly and are real characters with strengths and weaknesses and wants and faults. namely of course crown who is so opposite from who I am and who helped me really experience how writing and reading leads to more empathy lolol because I love crown and crown can do no wrong in my book but i would just never do some of the stuff crown did

3. are you happy? — not my most engaged with fic but one of my favorites nonetheless, she breaks my heart

4. eurydice — it’s probably not my favorite showcase of my writing itself but i had so much fun writing it and it kind of jumpstarted a really fun time of me writing on tumblr. and the theme in eurydice of like you can’t bring back the dead even when you can is so special to me.

5. 8000 layers of inyun — just to change things up something new perhaps lol. but no I really do like this piece of mine and although again engagement was quite low, I feel like it’s such a wonderful exploration of such a real thing. the grief over the what if? facing who you used to be? accepting the fact that you are who you are now? idk, a lot of those aren’t very explicit in the piece itself except for maybe the first one but it’s a lot of the questions I was asking myself and the characters when I was writing that piece. and I think partly the reason why I like this fic so much is because i just loved past lives so much
