She missed them both: Amadeo, with whom she shared many years of happiness (well, sometimes not so much, life is not a bed of roses); and her dear Jacinto, her only son, who went, two years ago, to America, settling in Mexico, where he now works as a brilliant architect.

So one day Justina bought, with a little part of her savings, a medallion of those that can have pictures inside of them. She brought to her favorite jeweler´s in Barcelona two photos of both and the jeweler cut them so that they fit perfectly inside the crystal of the locket. She asked that the chain had the exact length so that her two loves were just at the height of her heart.

Sherescued so many people andgave so much to the world withher talent, but could neverescape her private agonies. RIP Clara.

Can our stories be a part of one narrative? A story with two protagonists filling their pages with their courage and sacrifices, entangled with a great sense of love and compassion for each other? This is not without the unfortunate passionate exchange of words that creates setbacks along a journey. We keep strong, however, among those forming cracks on adventurous paths…floods, quakes, and the scattering of fires. But when we are hand in hand, bonded by time and space, crystallized by both our hearts, minds and souls, this passage of ours becomes a fulfillment of our destiny, and soon a destiny fulfilled; then do we look above the mountain, feel the apex centred in our thoughts and know that we have arrived to a place we can finally call home

Just two people who are completely in love with one another. Two-Face, or Harvey, has always been one of my favorite Batman villains, and I really wanted to amend his relationship with his wife, Gilda in this au.

Because of this, I felt that both of them being demisexual was most fitting, as their bond is extremely deep.

I stumbled on this book when I was researching on the slain journalist, Gauri Lankesh. The research was about controversial practices and rituals in our culture and that's what attracted me towards this book: to know what the establishment would rather not let us know. The book is written in Tamil; it is translated in English by Aniruddhan Vasudevan, and in 2017 it won the coveted Sahitya Akademi's Translation prize. The English version was lyrical, captivating and I can only imagine how delightful the original novel would be. I'm envious of Tamil readers for sure! The story deals with the love between the husband and the wife, Kali and Ponnu, their struggles of not having a child, the struggle of being in a society that presumes that if one's anatomy has a womb, it must produce a child, else that female is cursed, an evil human being or inferior to the rest of her species. And lastly, the betrayal. Often one crosses that line for the sake of love. I shall reveal no more. The story is touching, the plot keeps you hooked until the very end until it just gently breaks your heart. Murugan IS undoubtedly a great storyteller. He weaves the intimate aspects of two lovers, two social beings who must exist in this damned society. They constantly remind them that their love for one another is not enough. A strange and extremely damaging message. I hope we, as a society, can rise above this. We are enough. Set in the 1970s against the backdrop of the naxalite movement and the Indian emergency, with some bits shot in Delhi, the movie Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi is about unrequited love & desire, conflicting ideologies & dreams, thwarted personal & political ambitions. When it released in the year 2003, we were fresh out of college, fermenting with ideas, dreams, desires. -- Years later, a lot has changed. More ideas, more dreams, more desires. Perhaps. Perhaps not. --- The movie stars my all-time favourite Kay Kay Menon but he wasn't so much the focus here. Two newcomers literally stole the shine from him here. This is the movie that gave us the handsome and promising (but who could have been so much more) actor Shiney Ahuja and talented Chitrangada Singh, who was hailed as the next Smita Patil. The movie itself was touted a sign of changing cinema with changing times at the dawn of the 21st century.
