Lovers at Coachella Lando x Fem Reader +18 NSFW
Summary: You dated Lando for a few months, it had been a year since you broke up, Max and your friends planned a trip to Coachella that turns into more than a friends get away.
AN: Hello everyone, I'm back with something I wrote today, not proof read but I felt inspired. I'm still working on the following parts of "Just a Mistake", comments are greatly appreciated and let me know if you want to be added to the tag list.
Warnings: cheating, slight smut, minors dni.
You arrived at LAX a little after 10 am, it had been an 11 hour flight from Amsterdam but you loved driving so much you decided to rent a car and drive all the way to Coachella instead of taking another flight, you were attending the festival with your friends and your "ex", another reason why you decided to drive, it gave you some time to prepare yourself to see him after the breakup a year ago.
You had dated Lando for a couple of months while you finished school in the UK, the relationship was fast and intense, but when you finished school you got a job in Amsterdam and his racing career had him traveling too much, so you decided to end things, it was a friendly breakup with a goodbye fuck, then breakfast the morning after and you two kept in touch through social media and a casual text every once in a while.
After a couple of hours you got to the airbnb Max had rented but something wasn't right, the photos he had shared were of a house big enough to fit your group of 6, but from the outside you could tell the place you had arrived to was a small apartment, the code to the key lock box worked, you opened the door slowly, afraid to be entering someone else's place, and just like you predicted it was a one room apartment with one full bed and a futon in the living room.
Your friends where supposed to be there already, and not a soul was in sight.
-Y/N Guys where are you? Max I followed the location you sent but I'm not sure I'm at the right place.
You texted to the group chat and sat on the futon, you weren't sure if you should be inside but outside was way too hot.
The beeping sound of the lock box woke you up, the golden hour light coming from the window let you know you had fallen asleep for several hours.
You checked your phone and still no answer. Everyone had left you on read, assholes. A knock on the door brought your attention back to what had woken you up, you had taken the two keys so now you had to let in whoever was outside. You walked to the door and looked through the peep hole.
"Guys c'mon, I really need to pee" Lando screamed from outside.
You opened the door and he rushed in, barely paying attention to you.
"Thank God" He threw his backpack towards the living room and rushed to the first door he found.
It was weird, the person that had you worried about this trip was the one giving you peace at the moment, at least it wasn't just you who was lost or had screwed up.
You went back to sit on the sofa and checked your phone, maybe you had no service and that's why you didn't got their answer.
"Y/N" his voice saying your name sent a shiver down your spine, you had always like how he said it. You turned to look at him and you could see a cute spark in his eyes, maybe it was just the sunset playing with his beautiful green eyes or maybe you did cause his eyes to shine in a certain way.
"Where is everybody?" he broke your chain of thought, you nervously cleared your throat before answering.
"I don't know, this is not the place Max sent, I texted them hours ago but they haven't answered"
"Ugh, I ran out of battery during the flight let me connect my phone" He went to the side of the sofa and plugged his phone, while you waited for it to come back to life you had the awkward catching up.
Finally a sound coming from his phone informed you that it was on and he called Max directly, putting him on speaker.
"Hellooo?"
"What the fuck mate, where are you? I think you got scammed...again, you suck at planning trips"
"Oh, do I? Check the group chat, call you later" Max hung up the phone and Lando looked at you matching your confused expression.
"This fucking idiot" he said looking at the screen on his phone
"What?"
"Check the chat" Lando said pinching the bridge of his nose and you did as he said.
Max F. has changed the group's name to "Lovers reunion🧡🧡, Coachella 2023"
-Max F. This week you're going to the festival, just the two of you, do everyone a favor and start dating again, we're sick of your instagram flirting and Lando's obsession with Y/N it's exhausting. Have fun ✌️
"Why are we friends with him?" Lando asked still holding the bridge of his nose trying to hide his blushing face.
"I'm not sure anymore" You said locking your phone and throwing it on the sofa.
He prepared two cups of tea so you could try to think about how the week was going to work out. At the end you decided you were going to take turns using the bed, it was big enough to fit both of you but you knew it was a dangerous game, your relationship had been spend mostly between the sheets and your conversations consisted in moaning each others names and whispering sweet nothings into each other's ear, so sleeping in the same bed, specially after a couple of drinks, was risky.
When you finished the cup of tea you went to the supermarket to buy groceries for the rest of the week, Lando was doing great this season and his trainer allowed him to do this trip just because he and Max promised him he would stick to his diet.
After the grocery store you both went for a run trying to burn all the energy and fight jet lag, when you came back to the apartment you had to check some emails from work so Lando showered first.
"All yours" he said exiting the steamy bathroom with just a towel around his hips, some water falling from his hair to his chest, this view sent a hot wave all over your body, he had always had a great physic but the changes in the last year were amazing, his back looked broader, his abs where pretty noticeable and his arms, those stupid arms that you missed around you, were so inviting.
"You can take a picture" He said in a cheeky tone as he looked at you with a raised brow.
"Sorry" You excused yourself returning to your laptop "I just need to finish this email and then I'll shower."
"Don't apologize, it's not like we haven't seen each other naked before" You blushed at his comment and kept your eyes on your screen. You couldn't fall for this, not just because it would mean Max had won, but because there was actually someone waiting for you at home, you hadn't told any of your friends yet, but you were dating someone, it was still pretty recent, he had asked you to be his girlfriend just a couple of weeks ago, so if anything happened with Lando you would be cheating, and cheating was something you were strongly against.
"I'll make diner while you shower, chicken fajitas and rice sounds good to you?"
"Yeah, sure" You said with a dry throat, you felt like a teenager.
When you came out from the shower dinner was served, clearly cooking wasn't his forte, the chicken was dry, some bits were burnt and the rice was more like a pudding, but he was proud he had done it all by himself so you let him have it. After dinner you both went to sleep, even after you had taken a sleeping pill the tension kept you both a wake, you couldn't stop thinking about him and his hot wet body after the shower. You knew what you needed to do to fall asleep but you had left your toy at home so your fingers had to be enough for the night, you couldn't help to feel a bit guilty, you were touching yourself thinking about your "ex" who was sleeping outside, what you didn't know was that he was doing the exact same thing thinking about you.
The next morning you had breakfast and got ready to enjoy the first day of the festival, Lando couldn't help to stare in awe when you walked out the room in a long black skirt with pretty deep cuts to the sides, a small white crop top and some cowboy boots, he didn't look bad himself, a sleeveless black shirt, black shorts and some colorful nikes that matched a necklace Max had given him.
During the festival you couldn't help to notice how protective Lando was, a couple of guys tried to talk to you as you were buying some beers or waiting in line for the bathroom and as soon as he saw this he would run to you and "marked" his territory by nonchalantly placing his arm over your shoulders, scaring the other guys away, this wasn't right, you two were just friends, but you couldn't deny you loved how his arm felt around you.
The great music and couple of beers had smoothed things between you two, and when you came back to the apartment you started making diner together while chatting about how amazing the day had been.
The kitchen was small, so in order to move around it you had to be very close, he walked behind you and took you strongly by your hips to move you a bit to the side so he could open a drawer, his touch made you gasp and he just smiled when he heard the effect his hands had on you, but he didn't say anything, he liked this game and he wanted to see how far he could go.
You tried to get some plates but they were too high, when he saw you struggling he walked towards you.
"Let me" he said as he stretched behind you reaching for two dinner plates, his body was so close to yours that when his shirt rose up from the stretch, his warm skin touched yours where the crop top left it uncovered, you felt your heart skip a beat.
"Here, babe" he handed you the plates, the nickname bringing amazing memories back.
"Thanks" you answered in a breathy whisper.
While you had dinner you couldn't help to stare lovingly at him, he looked so happy talking about how amazing this season was going, you had seen him struggle the previous one and him being so happy filled your heart.
When you finished dinner you sent him to the shower while you did the dishes, he insisted on helping you but he had done them the night before.
"Your turn" he whispered against your ear making you jump as you finished drying a glass, the scare making you drop it but his quick reflexes stopping it from hitting the table, you turned to complain but you had forgotten how small that kitchen was, so you found yourself caged between the kitchen counter and his strong, naked, wet torso.
You looked into his eyes, then down to his lips, they looked so plumped and inviting, you bit your lower lip trying to fight the urge to attack his mouth.
"Baby, please tell me you want this too" He whispered as one of his hands traced the elastic of your skirt from your belly button, around your hips and stopping on your lower back, causing goosebumps to cover your body.
"Yes" you whispered in a low growl and finally joined your lips, his hands pulled you strongly against him as yours went to grab his wet curls, he pulled you up and you wrapped your legs around his hips causing the towel to fall end left him completely naked. He walked towards the bedroom, he laid you gently over the bed, you couldn't help to stare at his naked body, every freckle, every crease, every vein looked so inviting.
"It's not fair, I'm naked and you're way too covered, love" he said pouting his lips, he might look like a man but he still had this childish side that you loved.
You smiled at his reaction and removed your top and the strapless bra, you were about to remove your skirt but his hands stoped yours.
"Please, let me" he took the elastic from your skirt and pulled it down your legs, softly touching your skin. "So perfect" he said as he stared at your half naked body "Let's keep the thong a bit longer" he placed himself over you, attacking your lips again.
That night you had the most amazing sex in a long time, Lando knew your body better than any other guy you had been with, he knew exactly when to be soft and caring and when you wanted him to be rough and wild.
The next couple of days anyone that saw you would think you were a couple, you spend the days holding hands, hugging, kissing, having amazing sex in every inch of that apartment, basically having the time of your life.
It was Monday, you had planed with the group to go to LA when the festival was over but the chances of people recognizing Lando over there were higher, so you just decided to stay at the small town and enjoy the anonymity.
You knew time was running out, you were supposed to return to your normal life on Saturday and you had two options, talk about the situation or go to the airport, say your goodbyes and leave as if nothing had happened. You planned on having the conversation on Friday night, but on Wednesday an unexpected call pushed things forward.
You were lying naked in bed, Lando's left hand over your shoulders playing with your left fingers as your other hand rested on his thigh, when your phone rang, Michael's name on your screen.
You took the phone fast.
"I need to take this" you said as you put on Lando's shirt over your body and walked to the livingroom closing the door behind you.
"Hello?" you answered in a low voice.
"Hi, baby, how are you? Haven't heard from you in a couple of days, everything ok?" You had been MIA on social media for the last couple of days and he was worried.
"Hi, baby, yeah everything's ok, it's just we had a change of plans and decided to stay in Coachella for the rest of the week instead of going to LA" you whispered. afraid Lando would hear you.
"Oh, ok, why are you whispering?"
"Ummm, we got here late last night and a couple of the girls are sleeping"
"Isn't it like 5pm?"
"Yes, we went to have brunch and we had a couple mimosas, they're resting because we're going out tonight"
"I didn't knew they had nightclubs at Coachella, I thought it was a small town"
"They have some bars" From the corner of your eye you saw the bedroom door open and freaked out a bit "I have to go, but call you tomorrow, love you, bye" you hung up fast but the look on Lando's face let you know he had heard your call.
"Who was that?" he asked in a serious tone, you froze. "Y/n, I asked you something" you could hear he was angry and hurt. "You're dating someone?" You turned to look at your hands and just said yes with your head.
"So, this is just a fling? a game?"
"No! Lando, it's not like that"
"Where you planing on telling me you have a boyfriend? where you planing on telling him about us?"
"Lando, I..., well..."
"Just tell me the truth" he begged in an exhausted tone.
"Listen" you held his hand and pulled him to sit by your side. "Yes I have a boyfriend, but I didn't knew things were going to go this way, as far as I knew this was a week away with friends, not just the two of us, and I know I should have told you about Michael when we talked about our current live's but... I really liked how having you back felt" you looked into his eyes trying to read in them if he felt the same way or if this had all been a mistake.
"I like having you back too" his thumb traced small circles over your hand. "You think we can do it right this time?" He let go of your hand and took your face in his hands pulling you to touch your forehead with his "I don't want to loose you again". His soft warm breath caressing your skin.
"I don't want to loose you either" You whispered as you looked into his green eyes " I love you" you finally said out loud, his eyes widened in shock, then he smiled.
"I love you too" He said pulling you in for a kiss, he pushed you to lay on the sofa and placed himself between your legs. The kissed turned a bit wilder as his hand sneaked under the shirt and groped your right boob, you moaned at the touch and he took this chance to remove the shirt completely.
"You really think we can do it?" you asked as you layed naked over the sofa.
"I think so, we can ask George how he and Carmen do it, or you can quit and travel around with me"
"Thanks for the offer but this ain't the 1950's anymore"
"I'm just saying. I don't want to loose you again" he held you tight against his chest.
"You won't, we'll work this out" You kissed his lips gently. "I'm just afraid of one thing"
"What is that?"
"Max is going to be so incredibly annoying when he finds out"
"Ugh, I know"

fic interview meme
i tell ya right now this is gonna be a short one because i barely write XD! Still! thanks for tagging me @fandomsbyladymelodrama!
Name: joraerys (in ao3)
Fandoms I write for: Ugh... I only ever wrote for Game of Thrones.  Two-shot: Don’t have one. Have this untitled one instead. It’s Jorah with the objective to look for ships in Qarth (season 2) and it’s the first thing I ever wrote. A very short one. Most popular multichapter: Errrr it’s a gifset/minific in one: Lost and Found Actual Worst Part of Writing: GETTING STARTED. Ya got the outline, the ideas, and then you have to start... and hope the flow goes smoothly. How you choose your titles: Something that is climactic or summarizes the theme of the story... at the start. If I cannot think of anything, then some cliche phrase maybe. I’m just gonna take a minute and enjoy @fandomsbyladymelodrama‘s response on this one:
With a sword (pen) in my hand and determination in my heart. And if the end result is a line in French, that means I definitely lost the battle 😂
Do you outline: Yes. Is it coherent? Does it make sense though? Errrmmm.... Ideas I probably won’t get to but it would be nice: The old-Jorah and old-Dany prompt by @youcancallme-ray still keep ringing in my mind but I never got to do an outline for it. Just the idea is interesting. But as I begin to form ideas, I get a little sad. The ‘growing old and still falling in love with you’ part though seems wonderful to explore. Best writing habits: Ha? Hahahahahahahaha! Spicy opinion: I don’t know if it’s spicy but I think anyone who follows me at this point knows none of my major ships have come true, and yet I still feel they belong together, given the chance... whether to stay close to each other or to fall in love with one another.
I could probably write an essay here for Ted and Rebecca, individually, and if romantically linked, but a lot of people already share the same sentiment and they could write down their thoughts more articulately than I ever could. I guess just this once, I hoped the ship would actually come true with all the signs... I hoped too much and probably watched a lot of cast interviews that also fueled it. Their friendship is still something so precious that I wished even a glimpse of that string tying them together was hinted at to continue, instead of the lamentation that Rebecca went through, making it seem like they’ll never cross paths again.
Tagging @waddingham @roamwithahungryheart  Any other writer that wishes to play, go ahead! No pressure to do this to the tagged ones.

A Pain You'll Soon Regret - Pt. 2
Poly! MC Summary: MC and the demon lords get in a fight resulting in MC leaving. They planned on going to Purgatory Hall until things cool off, but they never quite make it there. Ft. Poly!MC
TW: Heavy Angst, Violence, I don't know what to tag this, but there is a pretty nasty verbal fight, Gore/Injury Vomit Part 1: HERE, Part 3: HERE, Part 4: HERE
Meanwhile at the House of Lamentation
Your leaving hadn't made the situation at the House any better. Asmodeus threw his hands up in the air and glared at the rest. "Great! Just wonderful! Now they've run off. Happy now?" venom filled his words, but he could feel his heart race in fear that he had just lost the one person who loved him for more than his looks. Satan scoffed, though he glanced at the door through the corner of his eyes. "Don't act like you're better than us. I didn't see you standing up for them." Levi growled and went straight to his room as Satan and Asmodeus began to argue. Beel took a step towards to door you had just marched out of and glance between it and his brothers. "Should we go after them? It's dark and they're drunk."
Lucifer lifted his chin as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Why should we? It's like they said, they don't want to depend on us anymore, fine. Let them see for themself how far they get without our protection," with those words, Lucifer turned on his heel and stormed to his office.
Beel sighed and looked at Belphie, "What do you think? We can go get them together?" Belphie stared at the door for a minute, a guilty look in his eyes, before he shook his head. "Give them space, Beel. They're probably heading for Purgatory Hall. Simeon and the others can take care of them for tonight. Right now we all just need to calm down before facing each other again," he patted his twin's shoulder before heading to their room; regret swirling in his stomach as he thought of how he betrayed you once more.
Mammon stood frozen staring at the door like he still hadn't made up his mind on what he wanted to do. His instincts screamed at him to get you back in his arms and keep you there. You were his human, reckless or not, and he had a duty to protect you both as your assigned protector and as your boyfriend. But for some reason, he couldn't seem to move his feet. His mind replayed the discussion in his head over and over again. He had once told MC that if they couldn't be saved by him, to make sure that they died. That he was the only one allowed to protect them. Tonight, as everyone was fighting, MC needed him to protect them, but instead, he pushed them towards the wolves. He let his greed get the best of him. "Fuck," Mammon cursed to himself as he shook himself out of his thoughts. He glanced over to see Beel restraining Satan from pouncing onto a sneering Asmodeus. He sighed and shook his head. They hadn't fought like this in a long time. You had always been there to put them into their place. Now look at them. Mammon groaned and ran a hand over his face. "Will you guys cut it out? MC is gone, okay? Ain't nothin' we can do about it now," to his surprise, his younger brothers actually stopped and seemed to be listening to him. Mammon huffed and began walking towards the stairs. "It's like Belphie said. We ain't in no place to make things better right now. Fightin' like this is what got us in this position, so quit it. Get some sleep. We'll figure it all in the mornin'." Beel, Satan and Asmodeus blinked at their older brother as he disappeared upstairs. Seeing Mammon mature and take control of the situation like that, was strange, but not unfamiliar. Asmodeus massaged his temples with one hand and fixed his hair with the other. "Ugh, all this fighting is going to be horrid for my skin," he glanced at the door one more time with a defeated look before heading towards his room. Satan clenched and unclenched his hands a couple of times, taking a few deep breaths, before silently nodding at Beel and walking away. All alone, Beel stepped towards the door. He opened it and looked out at the dark vast of the Devildom before him. With a heavy, guilty heart, he closed the door and pressed his forehead against it. He used one hand to lock the door for the evening, while the other pulled out his D.D.D. The others didn't want him going after you, but a message couldn't hurt, right? He opened your contact and wrote out his text, "Hey MC. I'm sorry for how things happened tonight. Things got out of hand, and I'm sorry for not doing anything to stop that. I know you and the others are upset right now, but I was hoping that tomorrow, once we're all calm, you could come back home and we could talk about it?" Beel sat by the door for half an hour waiting for a response, but none ever came. He frowned and glanced up at the locked door handle before shaking his head. "Maybe they left it on silent for a bit," he mumbled to himself before picking up his phone once more. "Text me when you get to Purgatory Hall. You don't need to say anything else. I just want to know you're safe." With that, Beel headed towards the gym. He wasn't tired. He wasn't hungry. He just wanted you home, but he couldn't have that. So in the meantime, he'd stay awake until he at least knew you were safe.
Only the morning came and went, and there was no word from you. The brothers were starting to get concerned. No matter what was said last night, they still loved you. You all needed to talk, yes, and things needed to be worked out, but that didn't change how they felt for you. They would never want to see you hurt. Lucifer had reached out to Simeon, while Asmodeus contacted Solomon and Beel texted Luke. Only Beel received a response. "Never contact me again. If you come anywhere near Purgatory Hall, I will not hesitate to smite you in an instant, you foul fiend?" Satan read out loud as he passed the phone back to a very confused and worried Beel. "What in the world did you do to him?" "Nothing. At least, I don't think," he thought about for a second. "I've stolen his baked goods on occasion, but besides complaining about as I did it, he never seemed to hold a grudge." Lucifer frowned deeply. "This is clearly about MC. Luke has taken to them as though they're his older sibling."
Levi scowled and pressed a few buttons on his game. "Sure they aren't dating him too?" he yelped as Asmodeus smacked him on the back of the head. "Stop it," Asmodeus growled. "I know you're the Avatar of Envy, Levi, but MC was open and honest with us. They told us that they loved us all and that they wanted a relationship with all of us. We all listened to what they offered and agreed. You agreed to this!"
Levi huffed and put down his game. "Because it was better than not having them at all!" he sighed and put an arm over his face. "I know that they love me, and them being with a-all of us doesn't change that, but it's so hard sometimes. I-I-I just-" "Want 'em to yourself?" Mammon provided. Levi blushed and nodded in response. Mammon shrugged and sat down beside him. "We all understand that Levi. This is somethin' new for all of us. When I see MC bein' sweet with you guys I get this urge to just rip 'em off ya and hold 'em tight in my arms where ya guys can never touch 'em again," he sighed and put a hand on Levi's shoulder, "but then I see MC smile at me the same way they smile at Beel or you or Lucifer. I know that when I'm holdin' them, they're thinkin' of me and they're there with me because they treasure our time together. It's hard sometimes, and it hurts to admit, but you guys make MC happy, and I can't take that away from them." He nudged his younger brother gently, "Neither can you." Everyone sat quietly as they thought of Mammon's words. "They always bring me snacks after my workouts," Beel said with a small smile. "They always seem to know when I'm hungry and would just whip out snacks out of nowhere." Satan leaned onto his knees from where he sat on his chair. "They ordered me their favourite books from the human world on Akuzon. They wanted to do a trade. I'd read their favourites and they'd read mine. That way we could learn a bit about each other just by reading something that the other loved and would understand one another a little better." Belphie tiredly rubbed his eyes and leaned against Beel. "They wake me up after all class and before any meals," he chuckled softly at the memory. "No matter how much I snarled or insulted them, they'd just put their hands on their hips and patiently wait for me to wake up so that I wouldn't miss any of my classes or any meals."
Asmodeus giggled and smiled brightly. "That alone proves how much of an angel they are. Your demon side really shows when you're woken up." The others laughed as Belphegor stuck his tongue out at Asmo. "They would always give me their opinion on my outfits. I know it seems impossible, but even I get torn between which outfit I should bless the public with sometimes. MC would always be the voice of reason to help me choose," his eyes softened, "Though they always said at the end that the most beautiful thing about me was my heart, something no one could see but radiated from the outside-in." Lucifer sighed, closing his eyes as he put aside his pride, and spoke. "They check on me in the middle of the night. I swear they have an alarm. They'll come into my office to see if I'm still awake. If I am, so long as the work isn't truly urgent, they'll poke my cheek and play with my hair until I give in and go to bed."
Everyone turned to Levi. The otaku's face was bright red as he avoided everyone's gaze. "Your turn, Levi," Mammon ordered. "Come on. I know that MC's super gentle with ya. Ya have to have somethin' to add." Leviathan pouted before mumbling. "They'll hold my hand when we're in crowds and in public because they know how anxious it makes me. If I start to freak out, they'll just gently squeeze my hand and pull me along until they can find a quiet space where I can calm down a bit," he groans and glares at Mammon. "What's your point?"
"His point," Satan began calmly, "is that MC loves us all equally. They take special care to do the little things to ensure that we all know that we are loved by them." Mammon nodded and pointed and Satan. "Exactly!" Lucifer hummed in thought. "Though this doesn't fix the problem of MC having no regard for their own safety." Everyone winced. There was no denying that. You admitted it yourself. You were reckless, and in a place like the Devildom, that kind of behaviour would get you killed one day. What would happen if you weren't with them one day? Just like you currently weren't. Memories of your storm out swirled in all of their heads, and concern pooled heavily in their stomachs. "Has anyone heard from them yet?" Belphie asked, looking uncharacteristically nervous. But then again, he was always protective of you as he never wanted you to get hurt again, especially since he had been responsible for so much of your pain in the past. Beel opened his mouth to respond when Asmodeus's D.D.D. went off. Everyone eagerly stood, as Asmo pulled out the device and answered it without checking. "MC? Are you alright?" "Put it on speaker!" Levi snapped, crowding as close to his brother as he could. Asmodeus nodded and quickly did as told. The voice that answered wasn't you, as they had all hoped, but rather Solomon. "I'm afraid they're not," the brother's felt their blood freeze at Solomon's words, as time seemed to stand still around them. Solomon's voice was cold and stern, showing his obvious anger at the demons. "I apologize for not contacting you all sooner, but I was spending every last second of my time and energy on trying to keep MC from dying of blood loss. That, and Luke is quite determined to keep the lot of you as far from MC as possible. If it was up to him I wouldn't even be calling you all right now. I, however, figured that you should at least be made aware of their condition." None of them heard a thing after the words "dying from blood loss" reached their ears. Lucifer took the D.D.D. from Asmo's shaking hands. "What happened? The last we saw them they-" "Presumably walked away from a fight with all of you and was trying to come to us. Yes. I'm aware. I read Beelzebub's texts on MC's phone," everyone glanced at Beel. His brows narrowed as he kept his eyes fixed on the D.D.D. "To answer your question, MC didn't make it to Purgatory Hall last night. They were jumped by a group of three demons who seemed to think that human would make a delectable midnight snack. What do you think, Beelzebub? Is that true? Is the taste of human flesh, really so delicious? I think I've heard you comment as much once or twice before you all began your relationship," Solomon spat the words accusingly. Fury danced on his tongue as though he was Wrath himself. Beel winced back and put a hand on his stomach as flipped inside of him. Belphie growled at the mention in his defence. "Stop dancing around the subject and get to the point. What happened? Are they okay?" The demons were surprised to hear a snarl come from the other end. "I already told you, they aren't. Luke had opened a window to air out some of the kitchens after he failed a new recipe he was trying out when he heard their screams. By the time we got there one of them had eaten half of their right leg, while was one biting along their shoulder, and the other was trying to choke them to death. Simeon and I were able to get the heathens off of them and incinerated them on the spot, but MC was already unconscious. While we were fighting the demons, Luke was just barely able to cast enough healing spells to stop the bleeding and stabilize them. Simeon and I have been working ever since on using every spell, charm, and potion that we know to keep them alive and somehow attempt to heal their injuries." At the mention of MC's leg have been mostly eaten, Beel turned and threw up on the ground. No one moved to comfort him, as they were too distracted by their own states of shock. "A-Are-" Mammon began to choke out before clearing his throat. "Are they
alive? Please tell me they're alive." The answer hung just out of their grasp. Waving dangerously above them like a deadly knife held up by a string. No matter what the response would be, all the brothers felt as though they may faint. "They're alive. Simeon had to use all his power to bring their blood count levels up to a healthy level, and their shoulder was dislocated, they most likely have a concussion going off of their head injury, not to mention their right leg was unsalvagable and had to be amputated, but yes. They are, at the very least, alive." Mammon joined Beel. Satan stood still, though he had changed into his demon form and the aura of pure wrath filled every cranny of the room. Asmodeus held a hand over his mouth as tears streamed steadily down his face. Leviathan had stumbled away from the group and was in the beginning stages of a panic attack. Belphie stared at the phone with a bewildered expression, his eyes pricked with tears, as though he couldn't believe the words coming from Solomon's mouth.
Lucifer was doing everything he could not to hurl the phone across the room.
Solomon continued. "Luke is currently watching them and making sure that they remain stable, while Simeon and I rest. As such, you will have no luck if you try to see them right now. I'll text you when I wake up and then you can come to see them," with that, Solomon hung up. Anxiety, grief, and remorse clung to each of the brothers like a new skin. Earlier they were arguing that all of them had your love, and because of that, all of them had nearly lost you. ***Duh duh duh!!! Part three to come. Part three will probably be the final part, but I don't know. Haven't quite figured out how this is going to end yet. Though a heads up, a may fill out another request before pt. 3 is up just to give me a break from the heavy angst. Thank you all so much for supporting me! And thank you to @millenniumofpain for the request!***

On DreamSMP, SMPLive, and Fandom Spaces (a nostalgic retrospective)
I ended up writing an essay so more under the cut! I briefly mention NSFW but in no detail. Not tagging but if someone asks I can tag that. There are also allusions to certain content creators who have done bad shit, but I mention none by name nor their actions. Again, ask to tag.
I’m not sure how many people in the DreamSMP fandom have been here since the SMPLive days. I know I joined the whole SMPLive thing a bit late, and went more into the Lunch Club (yeah bet you weren’t expecting that) fanbase instead, but I think it would be interesting to compare fandoms, mostly focusing on ao3 fanfiction in relation to fan content and community.
So there’s a lot to compare. I’ll start with Content Creator’s (CCs) views on fan content, including fanfics. In SMPLive and Lunch Club fandom the CCs generally had quite wishy-washy thoughts about fanfiction. Most of them seemed to appreciate fanart, but some seemed more uncomfortable with fanfiction. This especially applied to NSFW/shipping fanfics, which was completely fair, because it’s weird to ship real people or write NSFW stuff about them. There was also some controversy about ‘gore’ and super violent fanfics like the infamous ‘smpronpa’ fic, but as far as I know only one CC actually took major issue with it, and the rest simply joked about it a few times, and didn’t seem to care. Most CCs seemed vary aware of the shipping, and weren’t supportive of it, but did joke about it and didn’t seem to care that much. Aside from some cases (such as cscoop and traves) they did not seem to give two shits. Most just saw fanfiction as a little excessive, mostly from either not really getting it, or being kind of weirded out that people cared so much about them. There isn’t much concrete evidence to suggest anyone cared about it aside from a select few individuals and the infamous ‘serious stream’ (if you know, you know). The fanbase was also very split between ‘stans’ (ugh) who wrote fics, made art, and were perhaps obsessive or hyperfixated, etc, and ‘casual fans’ who tended to be gamer bros, who were also weirded out by the ‘stans’ and bullied them a bit, which was just silly in my opinion.
In comparison, DreamSMP creators seem much more aware of fandom spaces and modes of fan interaction. Dream, for example, explicitly condones shipping fanfics (’so long as they know it will never come true’) between him and other CCs who are okay with it. There seems to be much more focus on CCs individual boundaries, sometimes to an absurd extend (’well they never said this wasn’t okay so it must be okay’ [in relation to writing something NSFW for example]). Due to the narrative element of DreamSMP (something SMPLive and certainly Lunch Club did not have, aside from personas and running jokes) there is much more space for the ‘stan’ type of fan, with fanfiction becoming much more accepted and celebrated. If someone wrote a fan song for SMPLive, they would likely get called ‘cringe’, but the same is not true for DreamSMP. I mean, it’s minecraft roleplay, so there isn’t really any validity in calling someone else cringe for enjoying it in a different way than you. You’re both cringe, embrace it. Additionally, fans tends to blur the lines between fan space and creator space much more than any regular fandom, meaning that DreamSMP creators tend to be more knowledgeable about things like ao3, wattpad, and tumblr.
Now, is this a bad thing? I think it’s great that people are no longer attacked for making art or writing about their favourite CCs. There is a debate about RPF vs Fanfiction About The DreamSMP Characters, but that is a different story. I am more interested in the way CC interaction with fan spaces has changed the way those fan spaces interact as a community. In SMPLive days, people just kind of wrote and drew what they wanted because CCs did not interact with them. It was only when those works were brought to their attention that it became uncomfortable. I’m of the belief that fan spaces should be separate from creator spaces for the most part, and a CC shouldn’t be able to dictate fan experiences. As Dream said, ‘as long as you know it isn’t true’ and you’re not making anything illegal or extremely weird (like nsfw or RPF shipping) then it’s probably fine. I have an issue with fanfictions being read on stream, even if the author consented to it, because of the harassment that gets sent to the writer, and how disheartening it can be. Again, why are CCs in fandom spaces like ao3 and wattpad at all? Maybe I’m just too old to get it. Oh well!
Onto my next point of comparison, this one more specific to ao3, but I’m sure it could be applied elsewhere. The problem of oversaturation. Due to the supreme lack of ‘stans’ in the SMPLive/Lunch Club days, there was not that much fanfiction on ao3 (and about 1/3 of it was NSFW). You could go into the tag and scroll through every new fic in about 20 minutes every day, which was honestly nice. There were maybe 10 ‘big’ writers, and everyone was reading things like Floor 6 and Skyrates (shoutout to those who remember). I personally wrote a zombie apocalypse fic (Lunch Club + Wilbur Soot) which got a fair few reads and people seemed genuinely supportive of each other. It was pretty easy to filter out tags and find niches, and I met some of my now closest friends through that and tumblr. This was maybe early 2020. There was an abundance of creativity, too. The aforementioned Floor 6 (unfortunately now deleted I believe, since some of the CCs did some pretty shit stuff) was incredibly creative and engaging, and some of the ideas people came up with were outstanding. It was perhaps some of my most creative months, and I still recycle old unused fic ideas from that time for my own original work. There was a true feeling of community. You would see the same people over and over again, and if a ‘famous’ writer commented on your work, it was the best feeling in the world. I truly miss those days, especially coming up with ideas with my friends and thinking about them all day at school. It felt like a simpler time, almost. Which is sappy, for a post about SMPLive, but it’s true.
Ao3 now is... very different. There are hundreds of thousands of fics. Perhaps even more, I don’t know. But I think one of the reasons I slowly got pushed out of the fandom is because it became so difficult to find what I wanted. There are still great fics out there, of course, it just takes 5 more layers of filtering to find them. But as I started to spend 1 or 2 hours scrolling new fics each day, instead of 20 minutes, I felt a shift happening. In the early stages, I wrote my own fics for DreamSMP. I loved it (back in season 1) and I wrote 68,000 words for one particular fic. However, I found myself reading fics less and less. When I tried to search for a niche, there would either be nothing, or a lot of fics involving characters or CCs I didn’t really care about. There were hundreds of fics which were completely identical, many more new writers (who tended to stick to wattpad back in the day) who’s work I also wasn’t interested in (nothing against new writers, but unless the concept is amazing, I will not enjoy the work if it is technically very poor) and suddenly a lot more shipping fic. Mostly Dream and George. Which is something I’m certainly not interested in.
There also seems to be a difference in what counts as a ‘famous fic’. As I said before, when fics got popular, the writers were still just normal folks, just with more comments. Sometimes people would write spin-off fics for them, but nothing much else. A couple people drew fanart for one of my fics, but again, it was nothing compared to what it is now. Certain popular fics now get full animations, songs, fanart, and CC recognition for their work. It is an immense difference. And I’m not saying this is bad- it is good to celebrate writers- but I would also like to stress that due to the sheer volume of content, most writers get hidden completely, especially writing for a niche. It is strange, and I guess it is just an issue with huge fandoms in general.
I would like to see something that isn’t sbi or dreamnotfound go viral, though.
Lastly, I feel there is less sense of community in the current DreamSMP fandom. If I was a nobody trying to find a group of friends, I feel like it would be much harder nowadays than it was for me in early 2020. I met some amazing people back then who are still my friends to this day, through a single tumblr post that would probably be buried if it were posted now. Hell, this post will probably get buried. I knew people through ao3, through tumblr, and through discord. The fandom, I think, is so big now, that even on twitter folks have trouble finding a group. The entry point is now ‘be friends with someone who already has a group before joining the fandom’ rather than ‘scroll the three new posts and see if you recognize anyone’. This isn’t really something that can be helped, and I know it is a big problem I’ve had with other large fandoms. However, I also know that fandom isn’t always like this, and smaller communities do have that sense of friendship and recognition. I think this is an interesting topic and would love to hear what others think on it.
But yeah, those are some thoughts. I’m feeling very nostalgic for the ‘good old days’ right now, and I still can’t listen to the scooby doo theme song without feeling like I’ve been punched in the gut, so here we are. The ramblings of an old nostalgic fool (feeling nostalgic for a gamer fandom from two years ago). I am but an observer.
If you wanna start a conversation, go ahead! I would love for this post to not get completely hidden immediately. Hope everyone has a nice day, and thanks for reading haha

Dark Steve x Reader
🏢
You stood, back facing the multi level high rise with a banker box, filled with various items of your old life, in hand stunned. For the past few years you were held against your will by James 'Bucky' Barnes. The notorious mobster used you as his play thing, torturing, beating and occasionally starving you. Now you stood outside free.
"Hey!"
Your back tensed at the sound of the familiar right hand man of Bucky.
*It was a trap, of course.*
He wanted to see how far you would go this time, before he dragged you back to that damned penthouse.
"Never thought the day would come huh?" Steve laughed cheerfully.
You looked at him wordlessly, waiting for the shoe to drop. Instead he dug in his pocket, pulling out a fat wad of rolled up bills. Tucking it under one of the garments in the box you held.
"This should get you on your feet." Steve smiled at you. You blinked at him confused by his words. He turned from you briefly, hailing a cab to put you in.
*Was it really true? Were you really free?*
As the yellow cab pulled up an SUV parked behind it. When the back door opened the people filing out caught your eye. A beautiful woman dressed in black sequins and from what you could surmise maybe barely old enough to drink. Followed by Bucky and a few of his lackeys.
Steve lowered your head into the idling cab, careful not to hit your head on the open door. "Your replacement" comically chucking a thumb back in their direction. Closing the door he knocked on the drivers window and took out more money. Telling the cabbie to take you where ever you wanted before leaving.
Sitting in the back seat you turned and watched Bucky led the young beauty into the building. "Where to Miss?" The driver asked and it was a question you hadn't had the privilege to answer in such a long time you didn't know what to say.
🏢
It took some getting used to, but eventually you found your bearings. With the money you got a tiny apartment miles away from the penthouse. It was funny as you had always fantasized about moving to Canada or over seas if you were to ever escape Bucky, but here you were, still stuck in the same city.
Now free again you were able to live life as you wished. Eating when you wanted, going where you wanted the freedom was exhilarating. Unfortunately the time spent with Bucky you lost all the friends you had, family was scarce and thanks to him there was also a large gap in employment. Finding a job wasn't so easy, but eventually you landed on your feet.
🏢
The diner was quick to snap you up for their evening to graveyard shifts. It didn't pay well, but it was fine and you loved it for what it was. Free food, the occasional good tip, the money was enough to live off of and it was far away from Bucky's syndicate.
It took a bump from a passing waitress to bring you back to earth. A booth in your section filled to the brim with your nightmare. Looking to the door you contemplated walking straight out and never looking back. A high pitched whistle caught your attention. The table across from theirs signaled for a check.
Panicked you looked for a fellow waitress to help you out of the bind, but no one was in sight. There wasn't a point in running. If they were here, then they were going to get you.
Holding your head low you walked over, hugging the laminated menus tightly to your chest.
Quickly you handed them their receipt and tried to make your fast escape. A familiar voice cleared his throat making you jump. You stood with your backs to them for longer than would be normal and the table in front of you didn't appreciate your company.
Of course this was it. The nightmare would continue. Turning to the table you greeted them robotic-ally. As if they didn't all know your name already. While you passed them the menus it was if you didn't exist. Your eyes darted back and forth between each of them, barely a glance as they received the menu.
Your heart ached for the girl that was now your replacement. You could see from her face that she was running on fumes. You wondered how long Bucky had kept her up, breaking her in, if she tried to escape like you had.
A day out for you was normally a reward for good behavior, so she must be a 'Good Doll', you shuttered at the recollection.
"Long time no see!" Steve perked up when he finally turned his head to notice you. You had to ignore the prickles, control your nerves like you used to when you went out with Bucky, but he didn't look your way.
"I will be your server today. Is there anything I can start you off to drink with today?" Your voice came out as even as you could get it. Digging out your pen and pad, almost dropping it as you trembled.
"This is what you've been up to huh" Steve asked, his volume louder than others around him would like. He was the only one who seemed to care about your presence, the others just ignored you, going over the menus.
Your heart wanted to break through your chest as you tried to hold it together. When no one else seemed to care still, you could finally try to breathe properly. Bucky was too focused on his phone and from the subtle movements of his arm under the table, the girl fidgeting next to him.
* Just stick to the script don't engage in anything else.*
"I will give you folks a few minutes then come back to take your order."  you said ignoring him. Steve frowned at that, but you knew he wouldn’t move without Bucky’s order. Walking back you felt stiff and you were sure that sweat was seeping through your uniform.
🏢
You were a nerves wreck once you finally ducked into the little waitress nook by the kitchen. Scrubbing your face with your hands you took several deep breaths, the action not really taking the effect you wanted.
"Excuse me" her voice was barely above a whisper and though you never heard it you knew who it belonged to.
"Go back to your table Miss." you refused to look at her.
"Please you don't understand" her soft voice shook. You knew that if you looked, her face would be filled with tears. When she touched your shoulder you fell away tripping over your own feet as you rushed away. Finally you were face to face with her.
"I need your help, please" you were right she was crying.
"Get the hell away from me!" You pressed your back flat against the wall. Huddled in the corner as guilt and self preservation fought a battle inside of you.
"Everything alright back here?" Steve popped his head through the doorway.
"Y-yep.......just fine she needed to uhhh p-pee and I was just showing her the way" you felt your heart bash inside your chest once again. Steve wasn't stupid, but you prayed that he believed you.
With her back to Steve you knew that look and a part of you felt guilty for doing nothing. The young girl walked past you  to the restroom while Steve lingered in the hall. Lowering your gaze you peel yourself off the wall and slunk into the kitchen.
Steve followed, leaning in the archway of the kitchen. You tried to look busy and you were surprised that the cooks didn't ask him to leave. Even this far out their reach stretched you guessed.
"Can't speak to old an old friend?" Steve inquired.
"Steve, please..."
Steve may have looked sweet, but he was never one for sympathy.
"You're not in trouble I just came to say 'hi'."
*Bull shit*
He turned his head to see the young beauty leaving the restroom and you were glad. You didn't want to see him dragging her out if it came down to it.
*She must've run before.*
"Whelp it was nice talking to you again" he said as he followed arms length behind the girl.
🏢
"You folks ready to order" you forced another smile as you talked. It was almost eerie how they acted like any other customer. It was as if you hadn't known these men for the past five years. Each gave you their order. You served without any further incident.
When they finally left they even gave you a sizable tip. It seemed now that you were truly just a faded memory to Bucky.
🏢
Heading home on the train you couldn't wait to feed the alley cat friend you were trying to earn the trust of. Another day bringing him left over food from work.
"Here puss, puss" you called out to the darkened alleyway. Pinching off pieces of meat and tossing it about.
Your name was called out so you instinctively turned to find the sound. When your eyes found Steve you dropped everything you had and ran. You didn't know where you were going, shoving through various people as you booked it down the avenue.
The lights of a tea house caught your eye in the far distance. Dashing inside you try and calm down and walk to the bathroom hurriedly. Ducking into and locking one of the stalls you stood on the toilet seat and waited.
Hoping he didn't see which way you had gone.
The door to the restroom opened slowly, the sound of foot steps crept closer to your stall. Holding your hands over your mouth you tried to hold in your sobs. It was hard to control your breathing, you were panting heavily from the run. Even with your eyes squeezed shut you knew he was standing right in front of the stall you hid in.
"I know it's been a while...but you should know better than to run from me." His dark chuckle filled you with dread.
"You had fun right?"
🏢
The numbers ticked up in the metal lift slowly. The whole way up you looked down at your feet. Unable to bare the cocky look on Steve's face.
Stepping out of the elevator, the hall that led to the penthouse was long, but not enough. Steve moved from behind you and opened the door. The familiar cold chill of the penthouse hit you. Taking your shoes off at the door you walked over to the living room area.
"I'm really quite surprised. I thought you would've skipped town... Thought you would make me chase you half way around the world." Steve chuckled, that was the straw that broke the damn. Your face felt drenched, you had tried so hard not to cry in front of him, but once again you failed.
The past few months felt like a dream, in the back of your mind you knew it was a lie.
"You should probably get undressed." Steve ordered. You heard him shimmy out of his jacket, hanging it on the door as you sobbed.
Steve was just parroting orders from Bucky you were sure. It didn't matter that Steve was in the room, Bucky was what you were more worried about. He had let you go and for some reason he got his dog to drag you back. Steve's presence only added to the humiliation, defeat and soon further shame.
🏢
You stripped yourself of your clothes, folding them neatly and placing them on a pile next to the couch. The room felt colder, your skin and nipples prickled while you walked over to Bucky's chair.
Bucky had a favorite chair in the living room. A seat that was solely reserved for him and that is were you stood, naked while you waited for him to appear.
He normally was already sitting waiting. Not seeing him there didn't help stop the tears from flowing. Had you pissed him off at the diner? Had something happened to the girl? Did she tell him that she talked to you?
Behind the chair you were able to gaze at the city as you thought through each possible slight. Steve walked up from behind, placing a hand on your shoulder causing you to jump.
"Calm down he isn't here." Steve told you as he held up his hands in surrender, flopping down on the seat before you.
There had been many an occasion that you witnessed unknowing souls sit in Bucky's chair. The action seen by him as an unforgivable level of disrespect that made your stomach turn as he would rectify the slight.
The chair was Bucky's throne and only to be christened by him and him alone.
Steve's legs spread wide in defiance as he made himself comfortable as you tried to understand the sight of Bucky's most loyal man before you.
"Bucky won't like you in his chair." You warned.  His eye's went wide almost surprised by the sound of your voice.
"Hah... Bucks got you trained good" Steve lightly laughed. "Come have a seat."
You blinked at him as he craned his neck to admire the look of distress. Bucky was not one for sharing and you doubted he would be thrilled to see you naked and straddling Steve in his favorite chair.
When you didn’t move Steve’s warm hands pulled you down, your knees folded at his sides. On the descent you gasped, your eyes wide with panic and confusion. His playful grin fueled by your dismay. The chair wined at the added weight and you were sure it would break from the way you struggled to escape it.
Steve's arms wrapped and rested around your hips, pulling you close, making your movements hard. Your legs were tucked and  pinned at his side, your frantic movements rousing something that made you shutter when you felt it. With what little space you could manage, your arms moved up to wrap around your chest in an effort to cover yourself and make a buffer.
🏢
"You know you were always my favorite." He spoke calmly while your whole body shook in fear. It was a nerves shake that Steve had witnessed many a times and from the glint in his eyes you knew he enjoyed it.
"So creative in your escapes, but just too sloppy at covering your tracks" he t'sked while the hiccups and tears intensified. Steve rocked you back and forth gently in his lap. The fabric of Steve's pants rubbed against your mound, the length of his cock pressed desperately against his zipper and he made sure you felt every inch.
"Remember that time you set the penthouse on fire. Good trick getting the firemen to get you out". He chuckled completely unbothered by your distress. Smiling up at you brightly as if he were talking to an old friend. His walk down memory lane was not as fondly remembered as yours.
"At the diner I was sure he would've flipped out when he saw you, but I guess he was just to preoccupied to notice." Steve gave you a playful wiggle of his brow. As he talked you bit back shame. The incessant movement stimulated your clit, you could feel a wetness growing at it was only a matter of time before he noticed it too.
"The new girl learned her lesson far too quickly for me. I let her take off once just for fun... Then she never did it again."
"He has someone new right? He doesn't need me." Your were a sniffling mess. You knew Steve long enough that your tears meant nothing to him, but that didn't stop you from pleading.
"Oh sweetie if you didn't know by now he didn't let you go."
Your mind was swirling. Steve orchestrated it all just to have 'fun'.
🏢
"I want you to look up." He requested and you looked at him confused. "Over there in the left corner." He nudged his head and your eyes looked in the direction.
Your heart sank to the floor. There was a camera, one you never noticed before. You felt sick. Was Bucky watching you? The optics of this situation you could only imagine.
As far as Bucky was concerned you had ran out on him and Steve was just doing his job bringing you back.
From that angle it would look like you walked in, stripped and got on top of him. That you were fucking him in Bucky's chair. Steve's eyes lit up as you put all the pieces together.
"I fucking hate you" You said softly. Your chin fell to your chest as you continued to bawl.
"Oh Sweetie I don't care. I can only imagine the look on his face right now." Steve ducked his head down to look you in the eye, confirming Bucky was indeed watching.
Taking your wrist he moved them behind your back, bonding them effortlessly with one hand. Steve was hell bent on making your bad situation worse. You needed to get free and get out.
Steve's head moved to nestle your breast, you tried to lift off your knees, but his thighs kept you trapped in the chair. You attempted to jerk your wrists free of his hold, but Steve only held tighter.
Steve wasn't afraid of reprisals from his boss. They had been friends from childhood, at most he would get a slap on the back if the head. While you shuddered to think of what he would do to you.
"Don’t worry we have time to play" he teased. You felt Steve's hot breath on your breast as he talked. When he licked and sucked at your nipple, taking it in-between his teeth, flicking his tongue on it you felt your arousal grow.
"Please Steve..stop" you panted out as heat rose throughout your neck. You felt his mouth smirk swirled around your nipple, his face nuzzled in your chest, inhaling deeply on yours skin as you rocked in his lap.
The chair groaning protests increased and you prayed that it would break, giving you a chance to be free. When your hands were suddenly released you pushed at his chest hard, surprisingly he fell back with a chuckle.
"Why can't you just let me go?" You slapped at his chest as Steve rose to his feet. The weight of your ass rested in his palms as you tried to force yourself down and out of his hold. You yelped when Steve pinched your ass hard, the sting a warning to stop. Though your movements didn't cause his hold to waver, it was as if you weighed nothing.
🏢
Steve liked you. He was normally indifferent to the women that Bucky would bring home, but you were different. He loved the way you cried for mercy then begged to cum. The shame in your eyes when he watched you submit.
Bucky had a habit of replacing his toys. So Steve waited patiently for Bucky to tire of you, but a man could only wait so long.
"How many times had you wished it were me?" He changed the subject. Gone was his playful smile, his face stoic and unreadable just like Bucky's.
"I saw how you looked at me... wanting my cock inside of you... What would Bucky think if he knew"  Steve purred.
You hadn't wanted Steve or any of this. It was just that his eyes were just that inescapable. Bucky's second set of eyes. Always through a cracked door, from the corner of a room, reflecting back at you from a mirror. His eyes haunted your sleep just as much as Bucky's did.
He turned slightly to open the door behind you. Once it opened you knew the room you were in, Bucky's bedroom. You had shared it with him, but nothing in it belonged to you. You were nothing more than a dog that was made to come happily whenever he called.
When Steve tossed you on the bed you bounced. You watched, frozen while he stripped at the foot of the bed.
🏢
His mouth moved, but if he was speaking you couldn't hear it. The pounding of your heart was so loud in your ears that you couldn't make out whatever he was saying.
Each step he took you pushed back on your hands, scooting backwards on the bed to get away. Your elbow hit the head board as he unhooked his belt and unfastened his pants.
The bed dipped as he placed a hand on it, you watched and time seemed to slow when he stretched out to snag your ankle. You took the bed covering with you when you clutched it as you twisted and turned to pull yourself out of his grip.
With one hard yank you laid flat out on your stomach. Steve couldn't help licking his lips at the sight of your ass jiggling as he played with you. When he let go you stumbled over yourself, pressing your back flush once again to the head board.
🏢
Bending over he dug something out of his discarded clothes. Standing straight you watched as he played with his phone. Steve tossed the device to you and you blinked at it wildly. "Bucky’s across town with his new girl. It would take a few hours to get here." You picked it up as he talked. You knew the spot on the map, the red indicator blinking Bucky's location.
"Tell you what. I will let you go. If you give me what I want and I won't come after you again." He offered. Flopping on the bed Steve's back faced you. It was a trap you knew it, but some semblance of hope still lived in you, so you sat quietly and listened.
"Or I can take what I want and then stand by when Bucky comes back." He laid out on top of the bed with his hands laced behind his head. Gripping the phone you contemplated quickly dialing the police, but you were sure they would never make it in time. And if they did by some miracle come, you couldn't guarantee they wouldn't be dirty anyway.
Swallowing thickly you placed the phone faced down on the mattress. Steve tilted his head and observed you, smiling at you expectantly when you started to move.
You tried to reason with yourself as you approached him. You prayed that he would indeed keep his side of the deal.
Steve unlaced his fingers as you rounded him and you felt your skin prickle all over again. The bed didn't make a sound as you haltingly swung your leg over his waist.
Your hands shook as you placed them on his bear chest. Despite the heat coming from Steve your shaking remained. Your stomach tensed when Steve's fingers trailed up your thigh and rested on your hips.
Holding you, Steve lowered you down, flicking his cock back and forth with one hand to align himself to your entrance. His tip played with your folds, the prodding brought a slickness from your core.
🏢
Steve loved the way you cried. The sight of your puffy face whenever you begged and pleaded.  He loved that despite all the fear there was a fire that wouldn't die no matter how hard his buddy tried to stomp it out.
"You mad things fun around here." Steve's tone lowered to a husky growl. His eyes turned their focus from your face to your breast as the feeling of utter defeat washed over you.
His cock pressed threateningly against your lips as your palms rested on his bare chest. Steve kept you paused in position, your thighs burned while you hovered in place. the trembling not unnoticed by Steve. Moving from his cock the one hand traveled upward, gently ghosting over your hip as it crept up your frame.
Bucky despite his distance stayed at the edge of your mind. You looked around the empty room, jumping at every odd noise. The paranoia in your eyes made Steve painfully hard, but he controlled himself as he explored you.
Steve's large hand encompassed your breast as he palmed it. Gliding his thumb over your hard nipple the soft fatty flesh bounced in his hand when you inhales sharply.
A very sensitive area he noted. He wanted to know every inch of you, what made you squirm, but that would have to wait until another time.
It made his cock twitch just thinking about it.
🏢
With one quick motion he forced you down. The plunge sent jolts deep. Your cervix ached with fullness as your stomach tensed and strained to adjust to him. Mewling through gritted teeth you sheathed him completely.
"Did Bucky fill you up this good?" He growled. Steve felt your cunt hug him tightly, the feel made him twitch inside of you. You grunted when Steve bucked his hips at your lack of reply. His cock strained against your core, you hadn't noticed your nails had dug into his chest. When he bucked again he let out a long drawn out his as your nails dragged against his flesh. The thin lines on his skin leaving a stinging reminder of you.
"No!" you sputtered out much to Steve's pleasure.
"Good girl" Steve praised.
You gasped out when he finally allowed you to rise up, but before you could relax he forced you back down again. Steve muscles flexed under your hands. His deep grunts growing in volume as he resisted the urge to flip you over and rail into you deeper.
"That's it, that's a good girl" he grunted. Steve controlled the momentum. Every downward motion sending jolts to your core. You rocked into him, his voice humming as your pussy clenched around him. "Who do you belong to?" He demanded, making sure to throw his hips hard with each syllable.
"Steve Fuck!" You let out a sharp gasp at the feel of the head of his cock hitting your ceiling. Steve sucked in his bottom lip slowly letting it drag out again, the way you grabbed made him groan with delight. The feel and sound of you struggling made him almost come right there.
Unlike Bucky, Steve was different. You could never read Bucky, every wrong move you made in his game was met with swift reprisals. While Steve read of an unabashed wild eagerness.
"Such a dirty whore just for me" He beamed as you bounced atop of him. His blonde tresses stuck messily to his glistening forehead. Your shamed dissolved into pleasure as your ass slapped against Steve.
The feel of him overwhelmed your senses. Your pussy squeezed, your climax barreling through you like a freight train.
"You know better than that." Steve swatted hard on your side. The sting still there as you forced back your need.
You choked down what was left of your shame and begged him. You needed to cum, the tight coil in your core threatened to burst.
"Please.." You rasped out, looking away unable to face him. Steve reveled in your pathetic attempted to hide away from him. He felt you, there was no denying what you hungered for.
"please. ..Steve.. " you panted out. The sound of your sloppy sex and punishing manipulation was splintering in your womb.
"I need to come" You mewled.
Steve shot up, his massive arms wrapped around you, clutching your shoulders he shoved himself deep inside.
"Come on my cock" he commanded. Holding you down tight as he pumped his seed into you.
Your cunt milking out ever last drop as you both breathed heavily.
"Hey Buck... welcome home." Over your shoulder he stared deep into the eyes of Bucky as he coated your walls.

Based on this prompt
It was raining and it was just the perfect atmosphere for me to write in. I hope you guys like this chapter. And like I have previously stated in the previous chapters, any criticism will be welcome.

Chapter 3
Marinette was sitting on a bench waiting for XY to arrive. She was nervous. Their conversation last night would not leave her head.
Marinette felt her cheeks heat up.
He called me princess.
When Chat Noir called her that she just felt annoyed. But with XY, it only made her heart beat faster.
"Marinette!" she heard a familiar voice yell. Marinette turned around and noticed XY running up to her. When he finally reached her, he was out of breath. "I've been looking all over for you." He managed to say between gasps.
Marinette looked at him up and down with a bit of disgust. "What kind of disguise is this!" she yelled at him.
XY was wearing a sage-green crewneck that says 'NIKE' in the middle with baggy jeans and black converse. His outfit wasn't the worst. In fact, Marinette liked it. But what she didn't like were the accessories she chose. He was wearing an obnoxious cowboy hat with huge sunglasses that almost covered the upper part of his face. To make it worse, XY was also wearing an obnoxiously fake mustache.
XY winced at her reaction and meekly said, "A disguise?"
Marinette let out a huff. "I can not believe I am being seen next to you right now. The fashion gods must've cursed me or something."
XY let out a laugh and Marinette had a feeling that he was rolling his eyes at her. Of course, she couldn't be sure because of those hideous sunglasses. XY tugged her arm, "Come on." he smirked. "The faster we get to your house, the faster you won't be seen with a so-called fashion disaster like me."
Marinette scrunched her nose and started walking towards the bakery. "Hurry up." She exclaimed, letting out a small laugh. "I already know that you can't come up with a subtle disguise, but I hope that you aren't slow as well."

XY was out of breath, yet again, when they arrived at the front door of the bakery. "You're fast." He let out a breath. “That wasn’t fair. I literally ran to the park so I could hang out with you, then you make me run even more.”
Marinette pulled the door open and winked at him. "I know." She gave her parents a quick hug and turned back to XY. "Do you want anything?"
XY looked at the baked goods and scrunched his eyebrows. "Can I have a croissant and a strawberry macaroon, please?"
He was about to reach for his wallet when Marinette quickly stopped him. "It's on the house." She said reassuringly. XY opened his mouth to protest and Marinette narrowed her eyes and gave him the items he wanted. "It's on the house," she repeated, this time glaring at him..
XY looked at Mrs. Dupain-Cheng for help but she only gave him a smile. "Don't argue with her, dear. She does this for all her friends. She won't take no for an answer."
"My mom's right." Marinette agreed. "Now come on” Marinette tugged his sleeve. “We have plans to make."
Before he could reply, Marinette led him upstairs to her bedroom.
"Woah," XY exclaimed in surprise.
Whatever he was expecting Marinette’s room to look like, it was not this.
"Why are you so sho-" Marinette stopped talking right when she turned so she could face her room and her face went bright red. She let out a scream of embarrassment. "I swear I thought I put all of this away! I can't believe I forg- UGH!" she let out a huff of frustration. "You think I'm creepy now, don't you." she said, her eyes on the ground.
XY gave her room another quick glance before facing her. She had Adrien Agreste's face everywhere. There were posters with Adrien's face all over her wall. The wallpaper on her desktop was Adrien. Her room was basically an Adrien Agreste shrine.
Yet, XY had seen worse. Seeing her room, it was obvious that she has a crush on Adrien Agreste. He held in a scoff. Of course, she does. He thought. Why would she ever like me anyways. I’m a nobody when compared to the so-called sunshine boy of Paris.
XY could feel Marinette's eyes staring at him. He's been silent for a while.
Marinette probably assumed that he hated her and thought she was a creep. "Nope," XY said, a bit louder than necessary. He winced before he added, "I don't think you're a creep." his voice a bit softer this time.
"Yes, you do," Marinette stated, her hands hiding her face. "You took way too long to respond."
"I was taking in the scenery."
"What scenery?" Marinette asked. Though, XY could hear a teasing tone behind it. "My embarrassed face or my even more embarrassing room." Marinette plopped down on her bed. "I thought I took down all the posters and got rid of his face on my desktop." She faced him and smiled sheepishly, "I guess I was so excited to meet up with you that I forgot to take all this-" she gestured around her room "off."
"If it helps," XY tried to say. "This really isn't that bad." When Marinette stared at him as if he grew a tail, he added. "Trust me, I've seen way worse."
And just like that, the tense and awkward atmosphere was gone.
It was silent for a few seconds when Marinette spoke. "Me and my friend Alya” Marinette wouldn’t meet his eyes again. “We were supposed to take down all my posters and burn them." It was XY's turn to stare at Marinette as she was the one who grew a tail, but Marinette didn’t notice it or she just ignored him. "I'm over him. I actually can't believe I ever liked him in the first place."
"What changed?"
Marinette waved the question off. "I'll tell you later. Now, let's start planning the photo shoot."
XY stared at her for a few seconds, trying to see if she was telling the truth or not. "Okay.” He surrendered. “But you're telling me everything later."
"Maybe Marinette teased. "Now come on XY-"
"Xavier." he interrupted. Marinette scrunched her eyebrows in confusion. "Call me Xavier."
"Oh." Marinette looked at him with a cute smile on her face. "Well come on Xavier," she said his name in a teasing tone. "Let's get planning."
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Planning her 'I'm back cause I didn't realize that I somehow have over 200,000 followers on insta' photoshoot took a lot faster than Marinette thought it would.
XY, no, Xavier was a natural at it. She guessed it was because he was used to this kind of thing.
Marinette looked at her pink notebook. It was where she wrote down all the plans they made and the suggestions he gave her. "Thank you so much for helping me!" she exclaimed in excitement. "You have no idea how much this means to me."
Xavier took a bite out of his macaroon, "You're welcome. It wasn't that hard anyways, so it's all good."
Marinette studied him. Technically, she couldn’t take her eyes off of him, but same thing.
He took off that horrible disguise of his so she could actually see his face.
Like Marinette said before, Xavier was hot. He had a sharp jawline, which brought out his ocean blue eyes and his golden blonde hair was shining in the sun.
If Xavier ever asked Marinette who she believed his godly parent was, she would definitely say Apollo. Apollo was often described by Percy as hot. Someone with blonde hair and blue eyes. It also helps that Xavier was a musician.
Marinette let out a dreamy sigh before quickly widening her eyes. She tried to make it look like she wasn't staring at him but it was too late.
Xavier caught her. He gave her a smirk that practically made Marinette melt and raised an eyebrow. "Take a picture. It'll last longer."
Marinette wanted to take him up on that offer. Instead, she forced out a laugh and threw a pillow at him. "Wow. How original."
Xavier rolled his eyes and stuck out his tongue.
Could this guy get any hotter?
"So." Xavier said.
"So?" Marinette replied with confusion.
"What's up with you burning down all the pictures of-" he gestured at her posters.
"Oh," Marinette couldn’t bring himself to meet his eyes. "That."
"Are you alright?" His voice was soft.
Marinette looked at him in surprise.
Should she lie?
Marinette couldn’t bring himself to lie to him. He asked her that question with such sincerity. As if he actually wanted to know if she was okay
Instead, Marinette scoffs. "Did you know that you’re the second person who ever asked me that question?"
He didn’t reply.
Stupid. Marinette scolded herself. Why did she say that to him? Now he was going to hate her and think she’s just looking for attention.
Marinette stiffened. Xavier’s arms were around her.
He was giving her a hug.
Usually, Marinette would be freaking out about someone like him hugging her.
But right now, all she could do was hug him tighter and finally let go of all the tears that she's been holding in.

Note: I suck at writing sad scenes. So don't end up being surprised if my attempted angsty chapters end up being cringy.
Also, how do you guys want me to address XY? Do you want me to keep addressing him as XY or Xavier outside of Marinette's dialogue? I tried to address him with his actual name, Xavier, in this chapter. But I don't really know if I like it or not, so please give me your feedback on that.

air support, we need you (or: tscosi 2x09)
some bomb dropping, ofc, spoilers below duh
same game, top three things i had feelings ‘bout in reverse order
3. time skip time! Everyone could use a bit of a breather, even if it can’t live up to Arkady’s goat farm dreams
I thought all the planet assignments made sense, even if the completionist in me wanted it to differ more from the split that had already happened this season
ok ok the shipper in me was 50-50 but we’ll address that later
2. my man park!! is back!!!
Showing up with an anti-aircraft missile launcher as a wedding gift. I kept joking that Park would keep up his finale trend of showing up as a surprise being cool (as cool as Park can be anw), and thought it wouldn’t happen till it did!
and him also quietly saying the defector wasn’t Shelly....Park...are you going to talk about this...
narrowly avoided extended crew singing for the third time, will he keep up this success rate?
I would take a mini-episode that just followed Park in the second half of the season (Park: I am an independent man who needs no crew)
1. Arkady attacking Krejjh because she thinks they’re an enemy, AND then McCabe pulling a gun on her to make sure she didn’t run away. Bro. Bro, that shit was a direct hit to the id. Do I even have words for how good that was
Knowing what was about to happen as soon as Arkady said “You” in that tone of voice, ugh
Krejjh saying Arkady instead of First Mate Patel in desperation, and then brushing it off with a :D after
But god, McCabe. They’ve been so compelling this season, and yeah, maybe they’re approaching everything like a nail with the hammer they’ve got that shoots bullets, but the point is, it fuckin works
Arkady buys the threat (the promise of her crew’s safety?) more than she buys Krejjh’s reassurances
(though reading the transcript, Krejjh specifically telling Arkady “Science Officer Liu will never forgive you”, not “forgive us”, is excellent too)
“the only authority figures yet to disappoint me” / “I’m not an authority figure” / “you don’t get to decide that” is just like. embedded in my mind. just McCabe going no, you don’t get to run verbally either.
Do you ever think about how Arkady and McCabe had like, different kinds of fucked up childhoods compared to the rest of the crew. Like obviously McCabe ending up an agent so young and the stuff about their family suggests a pretty secure background, but it feels like the IGR and Dwarnian war starting when they were 12 gives them a kind of cynicism that meshes well with Arkady’s, in a way that’s distinct from how Arkady and Violet’s morbidness mesh, or Arkady and Sana’s pragmatism
ok more character feels under the cut
don’t scandalize the grandparents
A married man!
Impressed he made it through the season with no baddies wrecking his oxygen
Always ready to point out that Arkady is actually as much of a nerd as he is
AKA I didn’t realize it was a Mozart reference till he said so. Arkady defies the jock-nerd chart
okay who of Arkady or Krejjh is gonna tell him about MMA fight outside, or did they do a whole team debrief. For Arkady’s sake I’m hoping not the latter, though I guess everyone else would like an explanation for McCabe’s gun-pointing??
likes solving problems without guns, would prefer solving them by FLYING SPACESHIPS
Krejjh watches McCabe’s gun strategy work on Arkady and goes “do you folks really live like this?? why???”
I do love that their first thought on what to do next is to run a bunch of supplies around, probably between human populations that are going to be a wary at seeing a dwarnian show up. (Eat it, Eejjhgreb)
Kinda wonder if their feelings about getting choked out by their buddy are in fact more complicated than “it’s chill dude, please don’t do something stupid”
The cutest vow
who needs to calm down your crewmates with annoying words when you can just point a gun at them
Seriously where is the human-dwarnian war AU where it lasts longer or happens later where McCabe is the baby sniper posted to Arkady’s unit and they squabble a bunch (and perhaps kiss? When I wrote my third ever ficlet for this fandom never did I anticipate actually being interested in that)
what % of their Mirzakhani choice was thinking “what if Arkady tries to run from the goat farm and no one’s around to point a gun at her” jk jk
Their exclusion of Park from authority figures that didn’t disappoint them is fascinating. Is it that he left hoping for Shelly when it probably wasn’t her, or that he isn’t an authority figure anymore, a combination there of?
Or worst of all, is it that when he didn’t kill Krejjh back in 1x10, that really was a disappointment, no matter how much it might’ve been mixed with relief, and you can’t undo that moment?
What if they and Park talked. But I don’t think Park is going to goat planet, so that seems unlikely.
Their apology to Sana for heightened Martineau security! And Sana reiterating the profound gratefulness bit, gah
mostly read other people’s words and yet sparked consideration of two different OT3s, her power.
you know what, everyone deciding Sana is the best person to read words makes complete sense
There was one specific moment this episode that sent my mind into a tizzy about V/A/S, and it was Arkady going FINE GO ASK THE CAPTAIN THEN at how firm Violet was that Tripathi would be the one driving her, not Arkady.
I need you to understand that my V/A/S OT3 opinions are such that my shipping feels were more set off by that than Sana and Violet telling Arkady they were proud of her for choosing goat planet or whatever, like I don’t even know what dynamic was so captured by that argument, rip at Arkady having to be systems apart from them again
Though ofc my heart was buoyed by Sana’s earnest “Kady, you do more than that”, I want these two to go do a job together again, I miss that
To shift gears, I cannot believe “Lenny” started out as Sana being absolutely furious at the people threatening her crew and has ended up a teasing in-joke between her and Park, my Sana/Park shipping feels were very content. (When does Sana learn that Park didn’t get to hear the long list of fake crimes the Rumor crew specifically confessed to Lenny? This must be fixed. Tell him about the diamonds!)
Campbell said “Park, let me show you where we’ve been sleeping.” and my brain went. Wait. This is actually a good OT3?? Park is already unnerved by Sana’s earnest captaining, he should get unnerved by Campbell’s default magnanimity, please consider this
this is also where I point out that all these major characters have very convenient names for indicating ships solely via letters. V/A! B/K! S/P/C! This may solve my ot3 tagging problem...
get off that cotton candy boat, vi
Haha I loved that line from Doc Robinson she’s so no-nonsense, love Violet agreeing to work with her
Doc also said menders and I thought about this post again and also the team split and ahhh
But no, I very much liked Violet gently crushing Arkady’s goat farm dreams, and the two of them awkwardly discussing the very awkward stage things are at while still getting a feel for how the other operates
These nerds are trying and I’m still fond of them
at some point I was gonna make fun of Vi for not being able to drive before realising 1. she probably didn’t want to deprive the others of a vehicle 2. that would be incredibly hypocritical of me
wait does the igr have excellent public transport when they aren’t bombing it i take back every bad thing i’ve said abou-
*ahem* same question about the MMA fight debrief I had for Brian, it would be so funny if the situation was so rushed that like, Arkady+McCabe explain to Brian on the farm and Krejjh has to tackle everyone else
tick, tock, walking bomb, when it stops, nobody knows
arkady is so whumpable, and this show knows it
Redundant, but love how terrified of herself she is after hurting Krejjh and how strangely reassured she is by McCabe’s gun antics. And how she doesn’t like thinking of herself as an authority figure on the ship even though she literally is as First Mate
is ready to monologue about all major life events and the crew frickin knows it
is trying to help herself and stuff, still grumbling about it. in worse shape this season than last - probably all the constant discussion of the inevitable war just kept building stuff up and she kept ignoring it because haha who wants to deal with this prickly mess of a person haha
did i mention she’s the best
hope she gets her full goat farm dream one day, even if it’s not on actual goat farm

written in the stars (f.w. au) pt. 2
hiii soo happy people liked the first part!! im actually obsessed with this au so this is so much fun to write! again, requests for other characters are open! :) let me know if you want to be tagged in this small fic! part 1 here!
tag list for the fic so far: @daddystevee @nojamsonmytoast @thebadassbitchqueen
masterlist.  part 3.
hope you enjoy it !!! xx
your eyes scanned over the words again and again as your eyebrows furrowed together. balderdash. what could that mean? absolutely nothing could cross your mind as you stared at the black ink that was soon fading away. you felt frozen in place, astonished to see writing as you were waiting for this day for what felt like forever but confusion nonetheless.
“i should write back, right? does he know that this went through? clearly he’s older than me....” you spoke aloud, trying to wrap your head around it. you felt somewhat guilty feeling like this. you should have been excited to see words from your soulmate, knowing there was someone out there, but this was all such sudden change that you knew where you had to go. you felt the urge to run to cedric and ask him any and all questions you could think of.
basically sprinting to the hufflepuff common room without look extremely suspicious to any onlookers, you tapped the barrell and the door to the common room opened with one swift movement. you walked through the threshold and glanced at the fellow housemates and gave them warm smiles and they wished you a happy birthday.
“thanks guys, anyone know where cedric might be?” you asked, slightly out of breath and looking more frazzeled than one should look on their seventeenth birthday.
“is the birthday girl looking for me?” you heard a voice from the boys dormitory stairs call out. your nerves calmed and you spun around looking at cedric who had a wide smile on his face. “happy birthday , (y/n/n)! i got you this.”
you took a small box from cedrics hands and gave him a big smile, the stressful thought being pushed to the back of your head for a moment. you untied the white ribbon from the silver box and lifted the top to see three bars of honeydukes best chocolate and lifted it to see a picture frame. in the picture was a picture of you and cedric hysterically laughing at whatever joke was told at the time, looking as happy as ever. the frame was an off-white color with sage green vines designed around it. you smiled widely and glanced up at him with tears brimming your eyes.
“it’s beautiful, cedric. i love it!” you responded, placing the box to the nearest table and wrapping your arms around his neck and squeezing. he returned the hug and you could feel the vibrations of his body as he must’ve chuckled. you pulled away still smiling.
“was there something specific you were looking for me for? was it about your pen?” cedric inquired as if he literally read your mind. you heart rate increased slightly, as the previous moment passed and you grabbed the smaller box on the table next to your new gift. you held it in your hands and you looked up at him.
“so all i know right now is that i’m younger. they wrote something and it showed up on my forearm and i kinda freaked out. what does that mean?” you asked, switching your glance back and forth from his eyes searching for answers as soon as possible. he sensed your stress and placed both of his hands on your shoulders.
“okay, first off, ease your nerves a little bit. it’s not going to help.” he stated and you felt your shoulders relax themselves and took a deep breath. “assuming that you got the writing on your arm specifically means that he wrote it on his arm as well. he probably did it to remember something and has no idea that you even got it yet. what did it say?”
“balderdash?” you said in more of a question, wondering if that was the right word and what it could’ve meant. cedric’s own eyebrows furrowed together and his mouth opened slightly to speak but closed soon to take a second to think. you bit your lip and tried to maneuver your mind through this internal maze to figure out what that could possibly mean.
“i think i’m being too narrowminded right now. i’m trying to connect it to someone at hogwarts when it could literally be almost anyone in the world, right?” you asked, your heart sinking at the thought that maybe your soulmate wasn’t at hogwarts right now. you instinctively cracked your fingers and threw your head back.
“look anything is possible. but i could have sworn i heard that word recently.” cedric stated his own eyes darting around the room as his brain tried to make sense of things. “until something sparks in my mind, try writing back to him? this should be exciting, don’t stress yourself, love.”
you gave him a small smile and nodded slowly before licking your lips and reaching for the marble pen. your took a deep breath, a smile forming on your lips coming to the realization that this is a memorable moment.
wow i finally get to talk to you.
you wrote on your forearm, glitter trailing after the pen’s tip and soon leading to plain black ink before slowly disappearing. you paused and could practically hear the blood pumping in your ears.
oh my god. happy birthday, love. finally!
you giggled aloud and showed cedric who failed to hide his own smile and looked at you, “see! nothing to be worried about!” you felt more at ease and dazed as you were literally talking to your soulmate.
footsteps pulled you out of the small trance you had at your forearm as the ink disappeared. you looked up and saw malia with a wide grin on her face. “(y/n)! happy birthday!” you giggled and thanked her, pulling her into a hug.
“oh my god! your pen! have you written anything yet? have they written anything yet? ahh! this is so exciting, i’m so happy for you.” malia basically squealed. a smirk rose upon your lips, realizing how literally perfect she was for cedric and you nodded.
“they wrote bladerdash earlier and than i kind of froze and freaked out but i wrote and he wrote back!” you announced, happiness oh so evident in your tone and a blush rising to your cheeks. malia tucked a piece of hair behind her hair.
“balderdash? if i’m not mistaken, angelina said to me that was the gryffindor common room password. they’re holding a bit of a secret party before classes on monday and said to invite a few people and let myself in.” malia exclaimed, putting the pieces together to your puzzle. an overwhelming feeling you soon determined was excitement bubbled inside you as you listened to her. gryffindor? so they have to be a student at hogwarts!
“ooh, got yourself a bit of a brave one there, don’t you (y/n/n)?” cedric teased, wiggling his eyebrows. you held the pen in your hand a little tighter, eager to write on something. you grabbed the nearest piece of parchment, completely over having to write on your own skin and saw the glitter emitting immediately from the tip of the pen.
balderdash? afraid you were going to forget your common room password, huh?
you giggled at your sarcasm and wittiness and looked back up at the couple in front of you. they shared your excitement and cedric spoke up, “i hate to break this up but why don’t we go down to breakfast? i’m sure people wanna see the birthday girl.”
hogwarts student, eh? this’ll be easy.
you blushed and rolled your eyes, realizing the birthday attention was going to significantly increase today because of your new little pen. you clicked the pen and put it back into the box, grabbing the parchment, hoping what he had to say would appear on their instead of your forearm. “let me get jada and than i’m ready when you are!” you raced upstairs to grab one of your roommates and the four of you made your way to the great hall to reconnect with the rest of your house.
as you stood in front of the great hall doors, it hit you right then and there that there was a great chance your soulmate would be sitting at the gryffindor table right now, that is if they enjoy breakfast. you gulped obviously and looked over at cedric who was next to you.
“don’t get too freaked out. they’re going to be just as excited as you are.” cedric calmed you down, acknowledging the nerves you were clearly emitting.
“i’m not the best with change. and what if they see everyone wishing me a happy birthday and come up to confront me. or worse what happens if they don’t say anything at all and are embarrassed?”
cedric said nothing but gave you a look that said that you were overthinking it. he pulled you in for a brotherly hug and you two made your way into the great hall, your eyes only slightly darting to the gryffindor table a couple of times to play it cool.
you sat with your friends who were all extremely interested in your pen and tried to make their own guesses on who it may be. “it has to be someone in gryffindor obviously, and older than you!” you let your eyes trail to the table and tried to weed out who it may be until you heard a slight explosion come from the slytherin table. slytherin students were fleeing the spot, their shirts covering their noses and gryffindor students laughing at their rivals evacuate from the spots. you spotted the weasley twins high five each other and put together it was one of their up and coming dungbombs. they were both laughing and you couldn’t help but chuckle as well but subtly wanted to make sure the slytherin students were okay.
“ugh, if you got one of the weasely twins, you would be so fucking lucky!” your friend lola exclaimed, basically swooning at the thought of them. you grinned and rolled your eyes playfully before taking one last sip of orange juice and rising from the hufflepuff table.
“i’m stuffed, anyone wanna go to hogsmeade?” you announced and you friends agreed immediately. you snuck the marble pen out of your pocket as you made your way out of the great hall and opened your palm.
see you at the gryffindor party later?
the glittery remnants disappearing along with the black in. your palm tickled as you looked down at the quick response.
can’t wait.

ML Salt ~ The Cardigan Story
This is based on a true story.
Honestly, I always remembered this story because it constantly made my Sister and Mum laugh when I told them I outed a liar at school by wearing a cardigan, they were so proud of me because what I did wasn’t mean and I wasn’t even doing it out maliciousness so I thought, hey why not put it in the ML universe?
This isn’t canon to my main series so no Rosina since there isn’t any need for her, sorry sweetie.
And since I doubt Mlle Bustier would never out Lila, I’m changing the teacher to someone who actually has a backbone.

I know you may not wish to be tagged for one-shots, but I thought you might enjoy some salt I was able to come up with.
Also, I wrote this in one day so I’m extremely proud of myself.
***
If you told Marinette that Lila’s reign over the school would end over a cardigan, she would tell you you’re as crazy as she was about Adrien.
A lot.
But, she did just that.
She had to thank Adrien really, the ‘advice’ he gave her was what really pushed her.
She wouldn’t outright expose her, no, she had tried that before and look where that got her, near expulsion that’s what. And not one of her friends tried to stick up for her. She always remembered that glare Alix gave her, and since then she had been ignored, turned away by them.
Even after Lila came out with ‘the truth’ she was still seen as an overly jealous girl.
“Lila’s promised she hasn’t lied about anything else she’s said to us, it only acts up around people she doesn’t know as well, maybe next time, instead of being jealous you should give her a chance and stop being a baby. Girl this all could’ve easily been avoided if you weren’t so Adrien crazy”
Really? They actually believed that load of crap?
Whatever, Marinette was done, done with everyone.
If they wanted to show her how wrong she was then she’d let them wait until hell would frost over, because fat chance that would ever happen.
If Marinette was proud of one thing about her then it would have to be her stubbornness to get to the truth.
And she could be extremely patient.
***
It was just an average day at Collège Françoise Dupont. There weren’t any Akuma’s caused by anyone the previous day so Marinette was finally able to have a good night’s rest, something the exhausted teenager really missed.
She felt so re-energised she danced in the kitchen as she made breakfast without a care in the world.
.
Before she fell over that was.
“…Owww”
“Careful dear, you wouldn’t want to be hurt before school hours, now just sit tight and I’ll get you something to eat,” Her Maman said. Marinette felt grateful. After breakfast, she gave her Parents a kiss before leaving.
She had loving parents that supported her every beck and call.
…Well most of the time, but that didn’t matter, she would never let Lila manipulate them ever, her Parents were off-limits.
By the time she arrived at school she was one of the first ones there, Nathaniel in the back drawing his comics, texting Marc as well, it seemed like he was in his own ‘do not disturb’ bubble. Max was talking to Markov about some new type of game, and Rose and Juleka were just cuddling.
She made her way to the back feeling a positive emotion before exhaling.
Because it was about to be ruined.
Lila walked in with Alya, Nino and Adrien by her side.
She was telling a story about her ‘one of a kind cardigan-
Wait-
“My Grandmother made this cardigan especially for me carving her signature on as well, it’s the only one in existence because shortly after she made this, she ended up being in a terrible accident that left her bedridden.” They pandered to her of course. But for once she wasn’t focusing on the lie but the cardigan.
Oh, Lila’s only gone and done it now.
“I’ve always wanted to wear it, but I didn’t want it to end up ruined by someone” Her gaze casually went up to a lone bluenette, but she really wasn’t bothered.
“Don’t worry girl, I’ll keep a watchful eye on your cardigan for you. Ain't nothing gonna come between me and my besties property” They hugged before sitting down in their spaces.
‘Oh my god, I have a plan’ Marinette had that thought circled around her head until break. It was all she thought of.
Mind you, she wasn’t trying to expose everything she’d done, just that one lie. And that would be enough.
As soon as the bell rang, she was ready, she gathered her stuff and rushed home.
And thank god as well, Lila would not shut up about that cardigan, through Literature, Science and PE, it was constantly my Grandmother made it for me this, it’s the only one of its kind that.
Ugh, she wanted to rip her ears out at some point but had to endure it. No one else was bothered since they all believed her, even the teachers!
Yeah, you don’t really need any proof if it was handmade, some of Marinette’s earlier stuff didn’t have her signature on, but still, it was the principle of the matter!
And she could right that wrong.
In her room she was frantically searching for that item as Tikki dodged different articles of clothing, one hit her as she wasn’t looking, and she was down for the count.
“Marinette what are you looking for?” Marinette paused to look back at Tikki before continuing a bit calmer.
“Lila’s been lying about that cardigan and this time I can prove it.” Her eyes lit up as she lifted a cardigan up from her cupboard.
“One of Maman’s friends gave this to me a few years back, it was one of the reasons I got into fashion because of how soft it is and I wanted to replicate that. Don’t you think it looks familiar?” As Tikki looked over it her eyes widened, she knew Lila was lying anyway but she had no idea Marinette had definitive proof of it.
“That’s the same cardigan Lila has!” Marinette nodded before wearing it.
At least it still fit.
“But Marinette I thought we were gonna take the high ground?”
“Tikki it's tiring having to listen to them being lied too. I may not want them to be my friends anymore, but I just want the lying to stop. If I go and tell them that she’s lying with this as evidence they’ll clearly see she’s lying”
“But outing her like that won’t make it better!” Marinette wished she could respond with ‘are you sure’ but didn’t want to piss the mini-god off.
“Fine, what if I just wear it until someone notices, that way I’m not actively looking to publicly shame her? Better?” Tikki gave a reluctant nod, she knew her chosen wouldn’t let up about the situation, besides this whole thing was really just pettiness, nothing too serious. If no one noticed nothing bad would happen.
“Bye Maman, bye Papa” As she began walking back, she grew a bit nervous with her plan.
What if Lila made a whole other lie about her cardigan? What if she lied that Marinette had stolen it out of jealousy and everyone would try to take hers? She’d have to run away and live with a secret identity, all before getting caught and going to prison, and she’d never have her three kids and her hamster named-
“Ahem Marinette, is thou there?” A hand brought her out of her trance
“Ahhh!” She waved her arms before composing herself and seeing D’Argencourt in front of her.
“Ah, yes Monsieur?” How long had he been standing there? How long had she been rambling in her head?
“As I was saying, these new garments of yours, where did they originate from?” It took her a while before realising he was talking about her cardigan, she was so used to wearing her jacket it felt strange she had changed.
“Ohh this, well it was a present from Maman’s friend. They were on sale a few years back, so I thought I’d wear it again” He furrowed his brow before telling her to carry on with whatever she was doing.
“Well, that was weird. Do you think he liked the jacket?” Tikki ponded as her head ever so slightly popped out the small handbag.
“He’s always been weird Tikki. But whatever, let's just get back to the classroom.” All she had to do was wait.
***
‘How the hell hasn’t anyone noticed yet?’ Marinette was secretly fuming in her mind right now. None of her classmates noticed the change in her outfit.
Not one.
Bustier did however, the bluenette was sure because she’d see her teacher quickly glance from Marinette to Lila but never said a word. Probably thinking of that whole, ‘be the bigger person’ crap.
And not even the excuse of maybe Bustier didn’t know, bs. By the time break happened everyone in the school knew about that damn cardigan so don’t get her started.
‘Oh well, looks like that’s it. My petty revenge came flat… At least Lila didn’t pull a Marinette ruined my belongings stunt’ That would’ve been the last thing she needed.
Knock Knock Knock
The door opened before Bustier could reply, a teacher would reprimand a student for this type of rudeness, but it wasn’t a student.
It was a teacher.
And it was Monsieur D’Argencourt.
‘What the-’ Marinette didn’t remember this part of the plan.
“Excuse me Caline, but I need to interrupt the class for an announcement.” Bustier was about to deny but D’Argencourt the stubborn teacher as he was, walked straight on through ignoring whatever Bustier would’ve said.
Lila Rossi, may you please step in front of the classroom?” Lila looking completely confused let go off Adrien, much to the relief of the boy, and walked in front of her desk.
“Marinette Dupain-Cheng?” He didn’t need to repeat the command.
Yes, command not a request.
“Can I ask you where you got your cardigans from?”
“Armand, I don’t think this is appropriate-” He shot a glare back at the teacher.
“I can assure you this won’t take long if I’m not interrupted”
Lila looked over to Marinette and realised with a sinking feeling what was happening. But she would win this time. Just like all the others.
“My Grandmother made this specifically, you see-”
He held a hand up to silence her.
“Yes, that’s quite alright, and Marinette would you like to repeat what you said before?” As Marinette did just that Lila was seething, he cut her off. How dare that simpleton cut off Lila Rossi!
He would pay.
“Well, it appears one of you is lying, and I expect that person to own up to it now” The class gasped as they all looked expectedly at Marinette, they knew she was petty but to do this was so low.
Lila looked at her smugly, she had tried to play with fire but got burned in the process. How could she even think she’d get away with this?
“I was talking about you, Lila Rossi”
“Eh, what?” The class gasped as they tried to say of course Lila was innocent, Marinette was the one lying. Or that Marinette must’ve tricked him.
He shot a glare towards all the class members as they instantly shut up.
“I don’t remember this being a class discussion, if I want your opinion, I will ask for it. Understood?” They nodded before giving sympathetic glances towards the brunette, D’Argencourt almost had the urge to shout at their incompetence but alas they were kids.
“I can tell you why you are lying Lila, with a photo. But as I’m feeling generous, I will give you one more chance to reveal yourself.” The class was silent as they all looked on in anticipation.
But Lila stood her ground defiantly, as if he actually had proof-
Oh…
Oh no she’s doomed…
“Then I don’t suppose this looks familiar? Hmm?” On his phone was a picture. Lila immediately lowered her head, too ashamed to look him in the eye.
3 guesses of what it is?
No.
.
.
No one?
.
.
Too easy?
.
.
Ok, it was the cardigan.
And at a fairly cheap price. No wonder she had it in brand new condition.
“I first knew you were lying once I saw Marinette wear the exact same one, however, hers was clearly worn out, evidently she has worn it for several amount of years. You had already messed up when you said it was the only one made. So please…” Lila looked up to see D’Argencourt giving one of the most frightening glares of the century.
“Don’t ever lie about anything to my face or anyone ever again, you will be court out and I will be keeping an eye on you. Is that final?” She meekly nodded her head, trying to give a frightened appearance to make him have sympathy but he was immune.
“That will be all. I hope your class has learned a valuable lesson of not taking things at face value” And with that, he left. Leaving Marinette with a different impression of her PE teacher, it seemed he didn’t like liars all that much.
Marinette smiled, her plan worked, and she didn’t even out her herself. Tikki surely can’t be mad at her now.
Bustier tried to get the class to go back to normal but she couldn’t. The class erupted into a screaming fit, asking how Lila could lie about that sort of thing?
It wasn’t until someone unexpected said the next few words she wondered if this was a dream.
“Hey if Lila lied about this what else did she lie about? She even said herself she doesn’t lie to her friends but that was a lie” That made the class tick as they soon realised and soon torn into her about it.
Leaving Lila, a ‘sobbing mess’ on the floor. All before she stopped that fake display and arguing back.
But the one who said that…
Was Adrien.
He was able to slip by the crowd and stand next to Marinette.
No words were said, she knew what he would’ve said even without the noise.
‘I’m sorry’
It was a start, and maybe through time, she could start trusting again.
But for now, she just wanted to enjoy this chaos…
.
.
Before there was an Akuma alert.
***
I want more D’Argencourt I want more D’Argencourt I want more D’Argencourt. I probably screwed his speech but oh well this is salt, doesn’t have to be accurate.
Phew, hope you enjoyed it, sorry its shorter than the others but this happened when I was in Year 5 and I was 9/10 years old. Woo 10 years ago, god that makes me feel old. Also, not everything was exactly this way, the teacher did out the person in front of the whole class, but she admitted it and went back to her class, we had two classes for maths. Anyway, I actually have to give Lila credit compared to the liar we had at our school, this person actually knew I had that cardigan and actually complimented me on it like months earlier and still had the audacity to say that. I think that’s the reason why I think if I was in their world I wouldn’t believe Lila because I already had a Lila at my school who would always say they’ve done the exact same thing as we had (They even said they had the same Aunt as me living on the same street, crazy right). Mind you they never said anything to me, I think they were too embarrassed plus, I was a goody little two-shoes there.
Anyway I really hope you enjoy it and if you like real-life stories so much I can always try to ask my friends for more ideas, I did have like some slightly toxic friends there that I may be able to tell you about but I’ll try to think how later.
Cya next time.

enemies to lovers prompts because i’m self indulgent
i love them? Them? SERIOUSLY, HEART?
i wonder why they make me feel self conscious and careless at the same time and how my heart flutters when i’m around them but also i think i’m starting to not hate them what- oh. Oh.
oh my holy shit have you always been so beautiful or did you have to try on a new face mask huh? i mean, i mean you look so ugly ugh i hate you
oh you think you’re gonna win this argument? well guess who’s gonna tell you they love you and leave you speechless, darling
i must protect my secret at all costs or else they’ll find out and i’ll never live it down no no nope
oh we have to share a bed and you’re gonna kick me out of it? let me just cuddle you in the middle of the night so you blame yours- yeah no it’s because i want to
gOd they’re so infuriating i want to kill them but i would also kill myself on something happened to them—
oh oh you pinned me and now we’re hugging and you’re not letting go and i hate you so much and then why am i liking it- THAT PINCH HURT YOU NINCOMPOOP
so you’re gonna entice me at the ballroom with a dance? well let me just -accidentally- step on your shoe so we can fall together and i can kis- i mean kill you
i want to hate but i love you so for the love of god i swear this is the only time i’m letting you get away with it *proceed to let them get away with it more than only this time*
accidentally kissing each other and liking it and then having a fight because Of Course You Kissed Me And I Liked It But I Cant Tell You I Liked It
holy shit they went through something horrible so of course it’s natural for their mortal enemy like me to comfort them because MORALS and realising how protective you are of them
playfully flirting and hating each other and someone else flirting with them and you getting jealous and realising how possessive you are of them

friendly writeblr reminder!
it’s good to use cliches! it’s not unoriginal or fake or plagiarised! the trope has been used but has it been done how you’re doing it?
no one ever said “i love this, i hope this is the only one!” they said “i love this! i hope there’s more like this!”

gestures that show grief
still not being used to them being dead and using “is” instead of “was” and realising they’re dead and then breaking down again
calling their phone to pretend they’re still alive by listening to their voicemail
being depressed and brooding all the time
isolating themselves and refusing to open up or rest or eat
being in denial about their death to a high degree and pretending they’re still alive ex. still counting them at the dinner table, waiting for them to come back home etc
feeling guilt, thinking they could’ve saved them somehow, that it’s their fault that they’re gone even when it’s not
resentment and hurt towards the person who passed for leaving them ex. refusing to acknowledge they loved them or feeling string hurt because they promised they wouldn’t leave
physical changes like weight loss, sleep loss, withdrawals
being angry at everyone and staying mad at innocent people almost like they’re not themselves
worrying too much about other people thinking they’re gonna leave too
*some of these contradict each other and should be used accordingly
*should align with the personality of the character but grief makes you do things you wouldn’t normally do so mix it up a bit.

You're safe with me, I promise- Chapter 1
Hello! I posted an Ao3 link to this before when I first wrote it but still- ta da! I'll post the actual words on here this time and all.
This one's a bit long, about 5.7k of Geskel fluff followed by smut.
Rating: Explicit
CWs: Trans Geralt, Established Relationship, Kaer Morhen's Fanon Hot Springs, Dubious Consent, Sexsomnia, Frottage, Frottage Sexsomnia, Enthusiastic Consent, Thigh Riding, Oral Sex, Vaginal Sex, Light Dom/sub, Bottom Geralt, Top Eskel, Fluff and Smut
Geskel fluffy smutty goodness below & notes from author's note re. how I refer to Geralt throughout
Also, from the notes on 1st chapter, this small warning:
Hi! Few things that are a bit spoiler-y but still: Geralt is trans in this fic, and as such I've used words to describe his genitals that might make some people uncomfortable (dick/ cock/ slit/ cunt). Also, the dub con refers to one person grinding on the other in their sleep, waking up a bit embarassed, getting reassured before they both give explicit consent before going on to have sex (I've put the specifics in the tags). The snow was still falling softly and settling gently on the thin layer of white powder covering the courtyard when Geralt stepped in, Roach following close behind. She shook her head, mane flying out behind her and whinnied as Geralt gave her a small, appreciative smile and petted her flank. As he walked her into the stables, there was a cry from the entrance of the keep.
“Hey! He’s here!”
Geralt frowned almost imperceptibly as he started taking his saddlebags down from his horse before he could begin grooming her. Sure, he’d taken a little longer than usual to head back, but the snow wasn’t that thick yet. He looked up and peered into the other stable stalls. Ah. That would be why then- he was very rarely last back, too eager to see Eskel in particular again after months of separation- and there were already three other horses stabled. They seemed perfectly content, happily munching their way through some hay. He let out a small huff, and his frown deepened. He had wanted to have everything set up before Eskel got back- he’d managed to find a few trinkets that he’d thought the other witcher would appreciate over the year. There was also that other particular… item hidden deep in his saddlebags that he was keen to test with his boyfriend. Somewhat put out at his surprise being spoiled, Geralt finished dealing with Roach (giving her a parting gift of an apple, of course, it wasn't her fault he was late) and hefted his bags up onto his shoulders. He padded across the snowy courtyard, snowflakes dampening his pale hair and making it slightly frizzy as he walked. Waiting at the door for him was Vesemir, who looked older and greyer than Geralt remembered him. He felt a jolt go through him at the thought. He willed it away as Vesemir brought him in for a hug, patting him roughly on the back.
"You're late. Thought for a while we might not see you this year."
Geralt grimaced. "It’s not that bad, is it?"
Vesemir crooked an eyebrow at him. "Eskel was getting quite worried. But then he's not doing too well himself, he's laid up by the fire in the main hall."
Geralt blinked, mouth going dry. "What."
Vesemir opened his mouth to explain, but the younger witcher had already shot off inside the keep, dropping his bags inside the door as he went. Vesemir sighed and picked them up with a small smile.
Geralt strode swiftly into the main hall, and he could feel his eyebrows slowly rising into his hairline as he caught sight of Eskel by the fire with one of his legs raised on a stool in front of him. He turned at the sound of movement, a book resting in his lap. Eskel began to smile but froze up when he saw Geralt's face as the man rushed towards him.
"Good journ-"
"What happened?" Geralt had reached his side and set himself down on his knees by Eskel’s side. He looked up into his face, absentmindedly searching for any new scars, a rush of air coming out of his mouth when he didn't find any.
"Geralt, I'm fine, honestly. It's not as if you've never come back injured you know."
But he was ignored as Geralt had moved over and was cautiously poking his leg, trying to discern the nature of the problem.
There was a thud as Vesemir dropped Geralt's bags behind them, which he studiously ignored in favour of rolling up the left leg of Eskel’s breeches. Eskel rolled his eyes, trying to hide a fond smile behind a hand he brought up to scratch at his scars.
“Geralt, honestly, I’m basically fine-” He winced as Geralt poked at the tender part of his thigh.
He glanced down at the other man affectionately, before huffing out a laugh and returning to his book. Geralt continued to examine his leg, undeterred. There was a harsh red line about halfway up Eskel’s thigh, cutting diagonally and curved slightly at the end. It looked like it had already been stitched and there was no sign of red skin spilling out around the wound, so he was probably safe from infection. Tentatively, Geralt grazed his fingertips across it, keeping a careful eye on Eskel’s expression. He saw him swallow, and his eyes tightened at the corners as he winced.
“It’s healing, but it’s still sensitive,” Eskel murmured, running a hand through his hair to brush it off his face. Geralt glanced up at him and squeezed his knee.
“How does it feel to walk on it?”
Eskel huffed and turned to look into the flames licking across the logs in the fireplace.
“Not great, but I can still move about alright.” He spun back and pinned Geralt with a look. “I’d be up for more strenuous activities, so long as it didn’t jostle it, if that’s what you’re asking.”
Geralt spluttered indignantly, “No, no, I just meant-” He was cut off by a peal of laughter as Eskel tipped his head back in mirth.
“It’s fine, wolf.” He reached over and ruffled Geralt’s hair, receiving a half-hearted growl and a glare that was somewhat less effective because of the pout hiding below it. “Aww,” Eskel teased, watching Geralt try and straighten his already frizzy hair and move it away from his eyes. “You’re not upset I messed up your pretty hair are you, Ger?” he leant over and tucked a strand behind his ear. Geralt’s glower deepened.
“Not pretty, ‘s just hair.”
“Why do you care so much when I mess it up then, huh?”
Geralt blinked. He had no answer to that. He gave Eskel a light shove. “Shut up, Esk.”
Eskel smirked, amused by the obvious distraction his boyfriend was trying, as Geralt cleared his throat, and stood up.
“Uh,” he offered, eloquently. “Your, uh, thigh,” Eskel looked at him expectantly. “It, umm. Eskel, it’s a little, uh, it’s a little bit fucked.”
“Truly, you’ve always had a way with words, Geralt.” Eskel leered. Geralt turned away sharply, willing his hair to cover his cheeks as they flushed pink at Eskel’s words. Ugh, why did compliments and teases have to be so embarrassing? Gods, it made his skin crawl. And Eskel knew it too, the smug bastard- at least Geralt didn’t flush as easily as he had done before the mutagens. Eskel always used to lean in and whisper casual compliments when they were sat in the main hall, maybe about his footwork in sword practice, or how nice the curve of his ass was when he bent over, just to watch his friend go red in the face and squirm. He had always been particularly uncomfortable with heartfelt compliments, and Eskel had always, always, used it against him. Little shit that he was. But Geralt wouldn’t have him any other way, he thought, looking through his curtain of hair back at Eskel’s knowing smirk.
“Esk, why don’t we go down to the hot spring? The water will be good to ease the tension you’re carrying in your leg at least.”
Eskel hesitated a moment. Geralt nibbled at his bottom lip, wondering what he was thinking about. It wasn’t like he had any ulterior motives- he genuinely wanted to help his wounded lover. “Alright,” Eskel replied eventually, the moment apparently over, “Let’s go then. Lead on.''
They meandered down the path towards the steamy air of the spring. As they entered, Eskel wasted no time in reaching behind his neck and pulling his shirt off in a fluid movement. He left his breeches and smalls with it on the side of the pool and winked at Geralt over his shoulder before leaping into the steaming water.
He gasped as he resurfaced. Blinking, with water droplets decorating his lashes, he gaped for a second. “Fuck, Geralt.” he exclaimed, “it’s lovely in here.” He beamed at him prettily, and Geralt wanted nothing more in that moment than to press kisses all over his gleeful expression. He nodded instead, turning around to peel off his shirt. He took a quick glimpse over his shoulder before yanking his trousers and smalls down in one rapid tug and leaping into the water. It was a habit he’d formed so long ago, but even around people he trusted, Geralt couldn’t quite bring himself to break it. Eskel said nothing and pretended politely to be distracted by the bubbles, no matter how intimately familiar with each other’s bodies they were at this point. Geralt appreciated his pretence, though he still sent a shifty little glance over his shoulder before deciding to venture further into the water with him. As usual, Geralt buried himself up to his neck in the hot water and grabbed the soap, rubbing it hastily into a lather.
Whilst he was busying himself with the soap, Eskel looked up at him from beneath his lashes, and oh gods, but Geralt was done for. He was gorgeous with his strong, thick arms, and a trail of dark hair leading down across a deceptively soft-looking stomach- Geralt knew the strength hidden under there was formidable, but it still felt wonderful to lay his face against.
“Esk, how about, I wash your hair for you?”
Eskel looked over, eyebrows raised. He waited, not answering, and Geralt could feel the nerves rising in his chest, almost forcing his next words out in a hurry.
“Uhh, I mean. Umm. I, if you’d like, I could “ he stuttered, awkwardly. He winced. Why was he making this so hard? He’d washed Eskel’s hair before and now, when he was itching to do something nice for the man whilst he was injured, apparently Geralt was incapable. He frowned, and let out a quiet “Hmm”. Eventually, he sighed and tried again.
“Look, I wanted to help you, so just shift your ass over here and let me.” Geralt ground out, every line of his body stiff. Eskel grinned at him softly, the corner of his mouth pulled tight by the scars. It made no difference- his smile was still radiant as ever. He splashed a little as he turned around, sitting sideways on the stone bench.
“Go on then, pretty boy,” Eskel said, leaning back against Geralt’s chest. Geralt huffed at the nickname, but he didn't stop in his goal to pamper his partner. He reached behind himself to select one of the oils they kept on the edge of the bath for their hair. There was the lavender one that Lambert favoured- something about reminding him of some cat witcher, a fact which they all teased him mercilessly for- the dark liquid with the sandalwood smell that produced such a strong sense of security and warmth and safety in Geralt’s mind that it could only belong to Vesemir. He skipped past his own favourite- a hint of spice and smoke with the smell of sage lurking behind it- in favour of Eskel’s charred wood and saltwater fragranced oil. He spilled a little into his palm, and gently motioned for Eskel to tilt his head back. He had already ensured Eskel's silky chestnut hair was wet, so he tipped his palm over the top of his head and began to massage the oil in. He started with a very gentle pressure, and slowly built it up into something more insistent and firm. He could feel the soft little puffs of Eskel’s breath against his cheek when he leant around to spread the oil into the other man’s sideburns. Risking a look at his face, he saw that Eskel’s lips had parted, mouth left open and relaxed. There was a low rumbling noise coming from deep within his chest, an almost purring sound. Geralt pressed a kiss to his cheekbone. He dragged his hands deliberately down from his scalp to his shoulders and rubbed them gently for a moment, just enjoying the closeness he was able to share with Eskel.
Reluctantly, Geralt stretched an arm back out of the water to collect an earthenware cup. He filled it with water and covered Eskel’s eyes with one of his palms. Keeping Eskel pinned in place, he rinsed his hair and combed through it with his fingers.
“Alright you're done.” he paused a moment, “actually, wait.”
Geralt spread his palms out flat across Eskel’s back, pushing his fingertips into the skin beneath them and rubbing. His hands slid across his shoulders and down his back, easing the tension he was still carrying from the year on the Path with ease. Geralt’s calloused hands smoothed across his hips before gradually moving up his flanks. He could feel Eskel’s chest rumble on a pleased groan as his hands slid across his front, not lingering too long, but soothing nonetheless.
After a little longer enjoying the pleasant warmth of the water, Eskel dragged himself up onto the edge of the rock surrounding the water. Geralt slunk low back into the hot spring again, his mouth just about above the surface. “You head on up, I’ll be out in a minute,” he mumbled, not meeting Eskel’s eyes. Eskel tilted his head to the side, and Geralt was startled at the sudden resemblance Eskel bore to a confused overgrown puppy.
“Ger,” he said, lowering his voice and being careful not to smile at all in case he was misinterpreted. “You know I won’t judge you. Look, I'll even turn around.” He wrapped a bath sheet around his waist and turned to face the exit. “It’s ok, Ger.”
“I, I know that,” Geralt started, and took a shuddery breath. “I just… I don’t know.” He sighed in frustration, irritated by his inability to express himself. “I… hmm.”
Eskel waited patiently, as Geralt exhaled and splashed a bit in the warm water, trying to figure out what he wanted to say. Finally, Geralt huffed out a little resigned groan. “Makes me feel vulnerable. Like it used to when we were kids. Ugh.” He grunted and glared at the rough stone wall, embarrassed.
“Geralt. It’s ok, you're safe with me I promise.”
That pulled him from his thoughts. “Esk, I'm supposed to be looking after you, damn it. I’m fine, just gimme a second.” Geralt extracted himself from the water and hastily tugged a bath sheet around himself and over his shoulders. He padded over to Eskel and crept into his line of sight. “Sorry. Didn't mean to make you wait so long, put all that pressure on your leg. Let's head up.” He offered him a shaky smile. They headed back up through the cold corridors of the keep, bypassing the main hall and continuing up the stairs to their rooms. Geralt ushered Eskel in and pulled the heavy oak door closed behind him. Crossing the room quickly, he nudged a few of the logs in the grate around before flicking his hand into the sign for Igni and lighting the fire. Behind him, Eskel was already sprawled out across the bed, eyelids heavy and looking very content with the way he stretched his arms up above his head, a smug little smile tugging at the corners of his lips. Geralt stood and dropped his bath sheet onto a chair that sat in front of the fire. He was less uncomfortable outside of public spaces. He didn't know what it was- it wasn't as if Lambert couldn't barge into the room as easily as the springs if he wanted to. Perhaps it wasn’t logical, but he could work on it some other time. For now, he slid up onto his bed and stretched his arm out across Eskel’s belly, snuggling into his side and entwining their legs, carefully making sure not to put any pressure on Eskel’s injured thigh. They both sighed, pressing close together, with Geralt petting Eskel’s side, and Eskel gently combing his fingers through Geralt’s hair. They lay there a while, enjoying each other’s company. But of course, it could only last so long. Neither of them knew how much time had passed, but eventually, Eskel’s stomach began to rumble. The pair of them chuckled, and Geralt pulled himself upright. He pressed a kiss into Eskel’s still damp hair.
“You stay here, I’ll go and get us some food.” Eskel nodded sleepily and gathered one of the blankets more firmly over himself. He started to burrow under it and Geralt could feel his heart melting slightly at the sight of it. How could such a large man be so adorable? He reached for a clean shirt, telling himself firmly that that was a mystery for future Geralt to solve. Fully dressed again, he headed back out of their room and down the stairs towards the kitchens. He could smell somebody cooking as he meandered down- the air was fragrant with the tang of spices, and he could smell some chicken being fried off. He heard a quiet ‘pop’ sound of a cork being yanked free from a bottle and rounded the corner just in time to see Vesemir leaning over the fire pouring some luscious burgundy liquid into the pot. Across from him, Lambert had obviously been tasked with the chicken, and he was glaring down at it as if he thought the heat from his gaze would cook it sooner. At least he hadn't burned it yet, unlike last winter. Geralt was never going to let that go. Vesemir looked up as he entered the room and offered him a quick smile before turning back to the important business of his stew. Lambert smirked at him as Geralt started to rustle through the cupboards for some dishes and cups.
“How’s Eskel?”
“Hello to you too, Lambert,” Geralt said, not taking his eyes off his task. “He’s just tired.”
“Oh,” Lambert responded with a waggle of his eyebrows, “I’m sure he is.”
Geralt scowled into the cupboard and grinned when seconds later he heard Lambert yelp as Vesemir swatted him with his spoon.
“Get your mind out of the gutter, boy,” Vesemir growled as he turned back to his pot again. Geralt shook his head, amused, as he reached for some bread and cheese that had been left on the side. Snatching up a tray, he balanced the two plates and cups, a jug of water and then reached into another cupboard to fetch some dried fruit. He hummed appreciatively when he found some cured meats and snuck some of those onto the tray too. That ought to do it, he thought. He nodded at Vesemir and Lambert, who very maturely stuck his tongue out at him, the little prick, and retreated back upstairs.
Back within the warmth of the room, Geralt placed the tray at the foot of the bed and helped ease Eskel up, still cautious of his leg. He leant in, his hair falling around both their faces like a curtain as he tenderly kissed Eskel once, then unable to help himself he leant in again for another. He scooted back to pass Eskel his plate, legs still touching as they went quiet for a while as they ate. The fire was still going nicely, oranges and reds flickering together in the grate, creating such a cosy atmosphere that Geralt could feel his eyelids start to sag. When he looked over at Eskel, he saw that the other witcher had already fallen asleep, his plate slumped against his chest which was rising and falling with his unnaturally slow breathing. Cautiously Geralt cleared away the plates, leaving the fruit for later. He smoothed Eskel’s hair back from his face and then climbed into bed himself, tugging and adjusting at the blankets and furs he had accumulated there over the years. He felt his eyes fall closed languidly as he pressed his nose into the nape of Eskel's neck and took a deep breath, inhaling his smell as he drifted off to sleep.
When Eskel awoke, the fire had burnt down to embers and the room was almost completely dark, save for the few rays of early morning light sneaking their way in as the sun began to rise over the edge of the mountain and across the valley below that could be seen from their window. He sighed contentedly, warm beneath the blankets and from Geralt who was pressed up close against him. He ran a hand across his face, trying to clear the haze of sleep from his mind. As he did this, slowly becoming more aware of his surroundings, he began to notice Geralt pushing insistently against his thigh. He paused, holding his breath whilst he considered the situation. Geralt’s breathing was coming out a little quickly and kept catching in his throat, coming out in uneven stutters. Eskel looked down at him, at where he was pushing against him. Oh, well that was interesting.
Eskel swallowed thickly as Geralt rolled his hips into his thigh with a little sigh. Eskel glanced down at his face. He was definitely still sleeping judging from the peaceful, open look on his face and the endearing way his eyebrows quirked upwards when he caught himself at a particularly satisfying angle. Fortunately, Geralt was positioned against his uninjured thigh, and whilst Geralt was still wearing his shirt and smalls from the night before, Eskel had never bothered to re-dress. With Geralt’s next rut against him, Eskel noticed his thigh getting damp as Geralt rolled into him again with a short, high-pitched whine. He felt his face warm slightly as his own cock twitched in response. He took a breath to compose himself and was reaching across for Geralt’s shoulder to shake him awake before this could go any further, when Geralt stilled completely and his breathing stuttered to a halt. There was a tense second where neither of them moved, and then Geralt shot upright, wincing as he sat up, and Eskel couldn’t tear his eyes away from where his damp underwear was clinging close to his body. Before Eskel could speak, Geralt had scooted away and was blurting out an apology as quickly as he could.
“Ah, Eskel, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to! Did I hurt you? I know it’s your other leg but what if I-” Eskel rolled his eyes as Geralt continued his embarrassed babbling. He had a much easier solution. He reached out and took a firm grip of Geralt’s hips, and dragged him over to sit on his thigh. Geralt stumbled to a halt, wide-eyed and flushed pink.
“Geralt,” Eskel said, stroking a hand down his face in a way which he hoped was comforting. “I know you didn’t mean to, and if you want to stop we absolutely can. However,” he continued, running his fingers down Geralt’s abdomen unhurriedly, “I would be more than happy to keep going, if you’d like.” He curled his fingers around Geralt just above the top of his smalls and waited patiently for a reply. Geralt gaped for a moment, the tips of his fingers tickling the top of Eskel’s hips, before he slammed his mouth shut and nodded.
“Yeah, I’d like that.” He grated out, voice still rough from sleep. Eskel smiled wickedly, and pushed his thigh up sharply between Geralt’s legs. He revelled in the little moan he received in return, gripped Geralt tightly by the hips, and did it again. Geralt whined and threw his head back, hair flying over his shoulders and across his face. His own grip on Eskel’s still sleep-warm skin tightened till his knuckles turned white as he ground his hips down onto Eskel’s thigh.
“Now then,” Eskel said in a low voice, “Don’t you worry about me, how about you finish what you started here, sweetheart?” He pushed his thigh closer as Geralt rode it faster, face flushing darker at Eskel’s words. He bit his lip and nodded as he began to frantically thrust down on Eskel’s strong, firm thigh. He shuddered, and squeezed his eyes tightly shut, his breath hitching as his dick pressed hard into Eskel’s leg. Eskel stared openly at the way he squeezed his legs together more firmly, gasping between his hurried breathing. He felt Geralt’s dick throb against the muscle of his thigh and heard him let out a surprised moan as another rush of slick dampened his already soaked smalls even further. He kept grinding down, panting getting heavier as he got closer to the edge. Eskel shuddered, feeling hot all over. He cleared his throat.
“You gonna come on my leg just from this, Ger? In your pants? You’re making such a mess of me, you naughty boy, maybe I should make you clean it up.”
Geralt choked on air, his vivid golden eyes popping open and going wide, a loud, needy whine working its way out of his mouth at the mental image. Eskel smirked- it was so exciting when Geralt got worked up like this, and with the sunlight coming in through the window he looked practically ethereal as he rode Eskel’s thigh frantically. Beautiful as the image was though, Eskel had another idea.
“Do you want to be a good boy for me, Geralt?” He gripped Geralt’s chin gently in one hand, the other staying firmly on his hip. Geralt licked his lips, nodding almost as rapidly as he was grinding. “On your back for me, then.”
Geralt frowned, but obeyed without hesitation- Eskel felt a rush of heat go through him at the easy show of submission. He smiled and leant over him, giving him a quick kiss to his lips before moving further down the bed. Making sure to adjust his wounded leg comfortably before he started anything, Eskel peeled Geralt’s damp smalls down his legs, breath catching as he caught sight of what was hidden below. Sticking out from the damp curls was Geralt’s dick, wet with slick and glistening in the low amber light. He swallowed as he threw the underwear onto the floor and reached for the bottom of Geralt’s shirt. He raised an eyebrow at the other man lying beneath him and tried very hard not to look at Geralt desperately shifting his hips. Geralt met his gaze and caught his bottom lip between his teeth, his brow furrowing. Tentatively, he gave a very small shake of his head. Eskel smiled kindly at him and released the shirt, before lowering his head down to press an indulgent kiss into Geralt’s thigh. He took a moment to enjoy how soft the pale skin on the inside of them was and yet how solid they were, before shoving them apart none too carefully and burying his face in between them. There was a sharp cry above him before one of Geralt’s hands flew up to his face to cover his mouth. Geralt spread his legs further apart and squirmed as he felt Eskel’s tongue lap gently at his slit before continuing in a slow path up to his dick. He couldn’t keep the little sighs and moans back as Eskel lavished him with attention, still holding him in place by his hips so that there was nothing Geralt could do to get more friction but whine and plead. He let his other hand fall into Eskel’s hair and tug on it to try and make him show more of that attention to his dick. But Eskel pulled back with a tut, leaving Geralt to cry out.
“Naughty boy, trying to decide what I do. Who’s in charge here right now?” Eskel stared him down as Geralt tried in vain to stop squirming, panting desperately.
“Y-you, Esk. Please.” He gasped out, eyes pleading with Eskel as much as his words. His pupils had grown so large and dark his eyes were almost completely engulfed by them.
“Alright then,” Eskel replied and leant back in, this time holding down Geralt’s right thigh and sneaking his left between them. He teased Geralt with it, running it over his cunt but never slipping in, glancing around his dick but never touching where he needed it. Geralt’s eyes closed again involuntarily as he panted. Eventually, Eskel slid his tongue into the warmth of Geralt’s cunt, lips curling into a smile at the moan from the trembling man above him. He ground his hips at a leisurely pace against the furs covering their bed. It was always a delight to make Geralt fall apart, Eskel thought, still licking into and around him, sucking every so often. He reached his hand up to finally, finally wrap two fingers around Geralt’s dick and stroke it. He could feel the shaking of his thighs around his face and lapped at him more determinedly. He moved to suck at Geralt’s dick at the same time as he slid a finger inside him, crooked it and pushed. Geralt gasped and groaned above him, wriggling and unable to hold still.
“Esk- ahh- Eskel I’m gonna, I-” he moaned out. Eskel shushed him with a featherlight caress of his thigh. He slipped his tongue free to press a kiss to the tip of Geralt’s dick, savouring the whine Geralt gave him in response.
“Sweetheart, you can cum whenever you want.” Geralt nodded jerkily, and bit his lip as Eskel continued his ministrations, moaning his appreciation for another minute before-
“F-Fuck!” Geralt exclaimed with a gasp as he came, grinding down onto Eskel’s mouth as he did so. Eskel pressed a barely-there kiss to his dick, and then each trembling thigh as Geralt sank deeper into the bed. Eskel sat up a bit more so he could still reach Geralt’s abdomen to pepper it with gentle little kisses and watched him as his breathing returned to a normal pace. He enjoyed the quiet and spent the time admiring Geralt’s reclining figure, feeling very relaxed and quite pleased with himself. He was, however, perhaps too relaxed. Geralt pounced on him, shoving him back onto the furs with no warning. Pulling his leg out to the side so that he could be comfortable, Geralt lifted himself up and sat over Eskel’s crotch. Eskel’s breath caught in his throat as Geralt rolled his wet cunt once, painfully slowly, over the length of his cock. “Wanna ride you,” he murmured and rested his hands on Eskel’s pecs. Eskel bit back a tiny whine as his eyes widened. Geralt blinked down at him, biting his lip and rubbing his thumb over Eskel’s left nipple. “Please?”
How could Eskel possibly say no to that? He could feel his dick twitching against Geralt’s, so enticingly close to that wet heat that it was practically making him salivate. His carefully maintained patience was fraying at the seams. He nodded without hesitation and helped Geralt adjust the pair of them into a comfortable position. Holding himself tight in one hand, he used the other to lower Geralt slowly onto his cock. They both groaned as he bottomed out, sitting there for a moment as they adjusted.
“Hmm, fuck Esk, ‘m so full,” Geralt whimpered. Eskel reached an arm forward to rub at Geralt’s dick, making Geralt buck up, still sensitive.
“I know, sweetheart. You’re being so good for me.” Eskel said, grinding up into Geralt, pulling him down onto his dick by the hips. Geralt’s hands dug into Eskel’s pecs more firmly as he started bouncing up and down, setting a pace that left them both gasping. One of Geralt’s hands had migrated to Eskel’s right nipple, teasing him with little pinches. He groaned and rocked his hips up into Geralt harder. Fuck, but he was so wet, and Eskel could feel his cunt gripping him as his cock slipped in and out. He glanced down, watching himself piston in and out, and bit his lip to hold in a moan. Gods, he wasn’t going to last much longer.
“How’re you doing, G?” he asked, looking up at Geralt and watching his red face as he panted desperately, hair hanging dishevelled about his shoulders, brow dotted with sweat.
“G-great,” Geralt gasped out, clenching tightly on Eskel’s cock.
“Can you take some more?” Geralt panted and nodded in response, shaking slightly as he edged steadily closer and closer. Eskel reached between their bodies, and stroked two fingers up then down Geralt’s dick, once, twice and a final third time. He shifted it away as Geralt came with a loud wail and collapsed onto Eskel’s chest, twitching, breath panting out in warm puffs over Eskel’s shoulder. Eskel groaned deep in his chest and clutched Geralt close to him. He fucked roughly up into him a few times, listening intently to Geralt’s overstimulated whining and whimpering, making him moan loudly as he came. They lay, panting and exhausted, for a moment, until Eskel slipped his now soft cock out of Geralt’s hole, savouring the little whimper it produced. Eskel gently stroked his back.
“Now, I believe there was the small matter of you cleaning up your mess.'' Geralt smiled and burrowed his face to hide in the crook of Eskel’s neck. Eskel chuckled, and kissed the top of his head, cuddling him closer. “I’m kidding, let me get a washcloth.” Eskel wriggled out from underneath his boyfriend, who slumped into the furs with a soft “oof” sound. Eskel patted his ass fondly and fetched the cloth. Gathering up some of the fruit they’d ignored the night before and refilling the cups of water, he padded over to the bed again. They spent a quiet few minutes tenderly cleaning each other up and feeding the other dainty pieces of fruit, taking the time to make sure they both felt settled. With that done, Eskel chuckled as Geralt leant over the edge of his bed to find his smalls, wrinkling his nose at the state of them and grumbling as he had to move to the chest he kept his clothes in instead. With a pair shimmied on and the plates once again cleared, Geralt settled back into the bed and pulled Eskel up against his chest. He nuzzled into his neck, and Eskel relaxed back into it, both of them too comfortable now to be bothered at being so soft and needy with each other. Geralt moved his hips forward until they were flush with his boyfriend’s. Safe and cosy, he could feel his eyelids drooping. Eskel hummed in contentment and let out a yawn.
“Maybe,” Geralt said, swallowing a yawn of his own. “I could top next time.” His breathing evened out as he fell asleep. Leaving Eskel to mumble happily at the prospect and burrow himself deeper into the pillows before his own eyes fell closed.

begrudging (love-)blindness
Summary: You are, to him, unquestionably, terrifyingly lovely.
Relationship(s): Gojo Satoru & Reader, Gojo Satoru/Reader
Note(s):
Here’s the link to read this on AO3! (You know the drill, extra tags, different notes, the format I intended, etc.)
Personally, I think this is hot garbage in terms of structure and pacing (it’s loosely all strung together is what I’m saying, but I just needed to get it off my chest before I wrote anything else. Yet... I guess I had fun? Yeah. I did!
There's spoilers from the manga mixed with headcanon.
I still hate spacing and formatting on Tumblr, it sucks. Please, please, please, this is for your own good, click the AO3 link, this fic is such an eyesore on this platform.
|||
There’s a tug at your chest, sending you hurtling backwards and into something hard. A wall. Tiles. Smooth.
The heavens and the earth view one another through a layer of haze of light at night.
There are thousands of people gathering, their footsteps thundering echoes in your ears. Their chatter is a constant hum in the air. It stinks of sweat.
(“The train will be arriving soon. Please stand behind the yellow line—”)
You sigh.
“Dammit, Satoru! A little warning would be nice,” you hiss to the man. You hear him whisper something back but his voice is swallowed up by the crowds and then he, too, is consumed.
You feel him wander farther away from you; not left with much choice, you follow him. And down, down, down you go.
You pause when there’s an invisible wall blocking your path of his own making. “Hey!!” you shout, starting to scream expletives at him from the top of his lungs and he doesn’t look back.
A few seconds pass. The people, these poor, clueless civilians who just want to go home for the night are like sardines in a can, their bodies pushing and shoving. For space. For air. Requiring neither, you phase through the wall and the remaining levels to catch up to him, the thoughts going through your head solely focused on figuring out why he has let you out. He wouldn’t do something like this without warning you beforehand.
Why now? What now?
You pull out from the shadowed cracks of the feeble curtain set up along the fifth floor underground, suddenly feeling a heaviness you hardly ever experience. You run a cursory swipe over his teeth; the blood in the air is fresh, there are more civilians down here than up above, more sardine-ing (their presence is fading away, the above platforms’ panicked din becomes extinguished, it’s ghastly quiet, a moment frozen in time), but no Satoru. Not physically.
He loves you, you know. (You don’t understand though… Why?)
It’s a burden, draining you of what vigour is left in your soul, barely just clinging on to this plane itself.
His love is a curse in itself, really.
"I don't want you to see me hurt," he had said often, back when you were children, oblivious to the power of those words until you got older.
What they meant.
What they did—to him and you.
Still as the wind, you stand together, hands brushing up against each other's, your fingers infected with poison where his is not; the calloused skin and scars shared between you weaving a tale for the ages that will never be told.
You’re both nineteen at heart but certainly not in spirit.
You lean against him, completely unseen, waiting for him to flick his finger back.
Waiting for him to obliterate the first person he thought he could trust outside.
He doesn’t. You disappear for another time, expectant.
His love is a burden and you're not sure where you would be without it.
If he hadn't looked your way, would you be the same person you are today?
It's frightening, these thoughts of yours, but he usually chases them off when he senses them bubbling to the surface. (You want him to be annoyed.) A casual grin and stance, a flick of his wrist, a rush of wind by your side, then the phantom pressure is gone, yes, gone, however—it's never banished completely. It never can be.
You don't remember the colour of his eyes but there's a memory of you claiming they looked like marbles, buried somewhere (somehow), in the back of your mind. Like the marbles you'd smash glass bottles to obtain, their fizzy contents only drained seconds beforehand; stubby, sticky, small fingers sorting through the shards, squashing ants in the process.
Those very same fingers, now, haven't changed a bit, save for the chipped nails and whatnot duress they’ve sustained throughout his life.
You use them to push the blindfold up to his forehead, taking in the surrounding sights.
Why now? The fact that you can feel them, his fingers and everything else—that’s a bad sign. A very bad sign.
You breathe, inflating the faux lungs.
Finally, you see it. The reason why you’re walking and talking and fully corporeal.
You gulp at the living corpse, its stitches wonky and fresh. Cerebrospinal fluid spills from its face in fat droplets and lands upon the clothes of a dead man. Disgusting.
“So I was right in the end,” you say, more for yourself than anyone else. “You’re not Suguru.”
(Satoru owes you a thousand yen. You told him to burn the body immediately. Or, you know, the usual. But what’d he do instead? He went and passed it off to a third party! Man, why’d that old hag have to kick the bucket so soon… If she was still around she’d probably kick Satoru’s dumb ass for trying to be decent.)
“How are you free?” Not-Suguru asks.
The real Suguru wouldn’t ask about your appearance. He would make a comment about how the temperature has dropped and burrow into his collar. He wouldn’t question things.
The real Suguru never acknowledged you, but he knew there was something in the corner of his eye that took the image of his friend and laughed alongside them when they pulled their antics during missions.
The real Suguru is gone.
Who the hell knows where Shouko is.
Yeah. A little warning would have been nice. Real fucking nice.
There’s a cube with a dozen eyes between the two of you, the crater on the ground betrays its unassuming weight. Satoru’s muted presence, a shrunken pearl of light, emanates from the cube.
Not-Suguru follows your line of sight to it.
Giving him an answer would be a waste of your time.
You can’t, they say.
Young master, please, don’t go there, implores the servants and guards.
The elders, his grandmother especially, tell him not to enter the storehouse tucked away in the garden behind an avenue of camellia trees because that’s something they’ll discuss when he’s older.
He doesn’t listen to them, the curiosity of a three-year-old child cannot be satisfied by mere words. (“Let this be known,” the gardener says in his defense, one cold summer’s day. It is raining outside. His grandmother shoots the only person in the compound that doesn’t treat him like a blind fool with a withering glare. He does not see them again until—)
What’s in the storehouse?
A library of cursed objects? Spiritual remnants, artefacts, texts, poisons, weapons?
Maybe the mummified corpse of an ancestor whom they keep around to ward off evil?
Perhaps a curse, frozen in time forevermore?
Maybe it’s nothing and the adults are all in on some kind of elaborate hoax, he figures. Mm, yeah. Sounds about right. No one else knows about the storehouse.
It’s old and earthen. Wild plants curl the walls to one side and splotches of moss grow on the tiled roof. Where the sun hits least is pristine. Clean. He wonders if that’s where the wards are placed, out of sight, out of mind.
Oh.
Standing in the entrance of the open door with bare feet, at the threshold of the aged structure, fulfilling his desire, he learns why they wanted him to remain ignorant.
It’s a child. (A human…? This whole situation is off.) A kid his age. He can’t tell whether or not they’re older or younger. They might be a bit taller, though.
No, he wants to shout, this can’t be it! He stomps his foot. That’s cliché! Boring, boring, boring! Again, he strikes the ground. Ugh, whatever—
A sigh escapes the emaciated figure sitting in the darkness, hunched over themself against the wall of the bare storehouse.
“Ah, my f̶̥̍r̵̝͐̏i̷̳end,” they start, softly. “M̶̹̦͒y̸͍̮̋̚ f̸͉̓̋r̴͇̦̕ǐ̴̦͇e̵̫͠n̷̢͉̅̓ḍ̸̅, my very dear, old friend. You have returned.
“My e̷̳̭̿y̶͈͂e̷͔̭̎͘s̴̭̄̊, have you come to give them back? Ask for several others?
“I have waited for you, as promised. Come. Closer. Please. I do not know how long has passed since I last gazed upon your visage. Do not be afraid.
“I no longer lust for flesh as fervently as before, I will not ask of y̸͖͔̒o̵̳̍u̵͍̘̓ ą̴͕̈́n̵̫̓d̸̛̳͛ y̵̻͑̎o̵̖̥͒͌ų̴͋̐r̵̦̩̓s a sacrifice to please me.”
Their voice is garbled, the resemblance to a broken radio off-pitch jarring his reaction time, a music box opened underwater gurgling, ghosts beat to the rhythm of the blood in his ears and titter buried mysteries.
In the corner of his eyes distant stars burn, galaxies explode to life and die repeatedly, the vast cosmos is shredded apart. Universes are swallowed whole. The plane he stands upon bends to the will of the one whose gifts he uses carelessly to play the role of a deity and dictate the balance of the world.
People have said [they] reflect the very heavens.
His faith wanes.

oh my darling children, you are!
consume my flesh,

They do not move and neither does he.
What he assumes to be their head tilts ever so to the side, gauging him, this fool of a boy trespassing on their domain. This part of the garden, the little boy realises too late, is theirs.
This, the storehouse and now him.
(—the gardener finds him sprawled out on his back come dusk. They help him to his feet and dust him off, the sparkle in his eyes an unusual occurrence; they ask their precious young master what happened and he points them in the direction of the doors sealed shut.
“I took a peek inside,” he lies. Children are supposed to do that, right?
“And what did you find?”
“Nothing.” The gardener knows he’s a bad liar.
“Good. Now come.” They lead him away from the path of the camellias. “Lady Mitsue has been beside herself over you, mister.”
His grandmother hasn’t. She probably knows what he has done and will instruct him to feed the council what they want to hear. My son was too soft, she asserts before and after every meeting with those windbags.
You have to do better.
And his father is dead, so only time will tell who’s right.)
He starts having weird dreams (memories?) several days later.
Trying to ignore them doesn’t work.
Every waking moment is subject to gore.
He has to resist the urge to scratch his own eyes out while he trains.
In the world beneath his eyelids, there are shadowy figures claiming it best he is blinded and locked away and fed what no other soul could hope to consume without issue. And just as they force open his jaw—every night, every time—he wakes up.
Satoru doesn’t know what to make of it. Doesn’t know what to make of you.
One day, he dreams of years of living without sunlight causing you to screw your not-eyes shut and look away upon the opening of a door into your domain. When you recover, you turn to the door, the emotion of curiosity tugging for your attention out of the myriad of beings you’ve eaten.
Standing at the threshold, ethereal, desperate and short of breath, is a young man. In his arms is a woman, his wife, you presume. They’re stark shades of white, binary stars of a celestial system long dead.
You smile, recognising them in an instant. “Ah, my old friends, children of my children’s children a dozen times over, tell me, what is it you wish for?”
“My wife and our child,” says the man, “please, I beg of you, save them!”
Oh? A healing? It’s been quite some time since that was last requested of you.
You skitter to the pair’s side and shut the door gently behind them, ushering them further in.
You click your not-tongue at the woman’s state, wondering why no one thought to come to you earlier. If they did, the price they’d have to pay would be much less than what you’re about to tell the man. Humans are such prideful creatures, Satoru knows this, but he can’t help but feel tense as you instruct the man to lay the woman down and state your cost.
First, he opens his mouth. Then it shuts. Opens. Shuts. The man regards his dear wife with something Satoru has never seen before in the eyes of those around him.
His reply?
“I accept—”
A harsh smack to the head disrupts the memory; he looks up, unsurprised to meet his grandmother’s gaze, wrinkled eyes so very much like his own piercing his soul.
“Being distracted in the middle of a fight is unbecoming of you, boy,” she says. “What seems to be the matter?”
He can’t tell her.
He stays silent.
“Satoru.” She raises her hand, fingers crossed, indicating the void’s opening. “We Gojou pride ourselves on our ability to adapt. That is why, in fact, I say my son was too soft. He could not accept that he would lose my daughter-in-law and the child she carried in her womb to common illness. He could not accept that it was impossible to cheat death. He could not accept the position he was placed in. And for that, he died and of the aforementioned two, only you lived. Do you understand?”
No. He doesn’t want to understand.
What is adaptation if they’ve yet to rid themselves of and bow down to your constant presence? Is that not their most fatal flaw?
You eat them.
One life in exchange for another; you told his father it was the only way.
You were given the corpse of his mother a hundred days after his birth by the elders.
Every Gojou after death, you grind their bones between your teeth and their flesh rots at the bottom of your belly. Their soulful essence fights for dominance against the forces of the innumerable curses the clans feeds you—the hate, the sentiment, the sheer bursts of techniques and mighty powers clashing, click, click, click—you embody and absorb the aftermath of each childish scuffle, playing the bored jailer adjudicator. Corpses, tools, objects, energy and flesh. It’s how you’ve lived for so long without light or human thought to taint you: the jujutsu world’s dirty little secret, waste disposal.
You are, to him, unquestionably, terrifyingly lovely.
He loves you for that one reason.
A means to an end, forever.
(The boy, a few days shy of his fourth birthday and inauguration, does not know what love is. He thinks he does, having read the definition in a dictionary in order to familiarise you with modern speech, but love is not a word to be thrown around lightly the way he does.)
“I do,” he lies again, this time, to himself. “I understand everything.”
His sight is black.
He pushes back against the current, against instinct telling him to relinquish control and reaches forward for the dream that he was ripped from.
Your true form towers over his mother’s prone form, dripping ichor and the fluid of loose entrails all over. His father stays seated even when you lift an arm to draw blood, the man facing you without a trace of fear.
“I accept—but on the condition that my child receives your protection.”
“My p̶̹̽r̴̽ͅo̵̠͐ť̷̬e̶̺̊c̶̻̒t̷̙͑i̵̮̓o̶̱n̷̖͂?” Do they not teach the younger generations what that entails?
“Yes. My ancestors wrote that you were a benevolent being in a past life. That you were a kind-hearted human who accidentally drank poison before being found and buried alive, condemned and reviled, forcing you to become what you are now. Does that still not hold true?” His father’s face is hopeful.
It doesn’t. But who are you to tell him that? That ‘benevolent being’ never existed in the first place. You’ve always been this.
The vivisepulture part was true, but the beginning? Debatable. Your memories of ‘being human’ are foggy; you’re not sure if they’re real or someone else’s. Satoru’s is the clearest thus far because you abide within him. And he’s young, there’s little to garner.
What other nonsense has been made truth in the time you have withdrawn from the world?
He wants to go down that rabbit hole.
You grab the cube and run, warping reality in your wake.
You are many things.
Alive, you are first; secondly a parent, a teacher and a friend; cursed thrice times over; quarter something-something or rather by this point; and last, your hollowness complements the damned hallowed.
You are Gojou Satoru but not.
His skin peels off in delicate scales from the speed you’re going.
The first and last time you puppeteer his body, Satoru invokes his father’s contract with you for the second time in his life.
Like the first occurrence, it happens by accident.
(The first occurrence is a stain on your memory.
Mitsue looked her grandson in the eye and tasked him with a futile quest, one that would decide the future headship of their clan. You personally thought such practices outdated but you held his tongue and grit his teeth, faking laughter for the audience they had.
She reminded you too much of your youngest, both in the way she cobbled herself together and how she suspended time long enough to catch a glimpse of you hunched beside him, flickering in and out of her void domain with the ease of a toddler climbing free of their crib.
Beautiful and deadly.
He nearly died.)
He is unaware of the finer details, but where his consciousness ends at getting a scalpel to head, it rouses again with him standing before the man who has the blood of Satoru’s friends on his hands and left him to bleed out undecapitated.
On a high from escaping Izanami’s clutches, he sprouts math and whatever nonsense off the top of his head and ragdolls up, down, across and through the air.
He feels like a being higher than the gods. Doesn’t mean he is, though.
He’s barely in control.
Violent swashes of red and blue fill the sky. He sees beyond his opponent rising from the earth the heavens condemning his breaching unto their space.
“Hey, stranger, did you know purple was her favourite colour?”
“Whose?”
|
“Satoru.”
“Hm?”
“You are Satoru, right?”
“Yessssss?”
“You… you’ve got a bit of…” Suguru gestures vaguely around the lower half of his face.
“Oh.” You rub the corner of his mouth with the pad of his thumb and see it come back tinged pink. The drying drool on his sleeves is used to rub the rest of the blood away. “Thanks.”
“Have you found her?”
“Amanai? Her body?” Suguru flinches. Your gaze is drawn to the cultists clapping. “Yeah, I did. Sorry.”
“What are you apologising for?”
“I don’t know,” Satoru says. “I feel like killing these people. Should we?”
“Why?”
“I’m still h̸͓̟͐u̴̦͗n̴͇͈̅͛g̵͔̒̕ŗ̴͕͂͘y̸͚͍͘͘.” Two wasn’t even a snack.
“I’m angry that we failed too. But we can’t do anything now, it’s out of our hands.”
|
Several days later finds him back at the entrance of the storehouse, none the worse for wear.
In the shadow of the building grows a lone weed.
“It’s changed.”
“Of course it has.”
“Will I end up like them?”
“Yes.”

Stitches (Part Two)
Tumblr media
Ya’ll, I wasn’t planning on posting this yet but when I actually checked, I realised that if I didn’t- Part Two was going to be over 12,000 words. So I had to split it again. So, you can look forward to a Part Three! I also, sort of, accidentally maybe, wrote a teeny tiny lil’ bit of plot.
Tagged: @kittygonyan @mrsreina (If you’d like to be tagged in Part Three, give me a shout!)
Pairing: Villain!AllMight x Reader
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: Blood, Swearing, Threats of Non-Con (Not made by our boy All Might and not said explicitly though).
Word Count: 6800+
Summary: A phone call makes you question just how the biggest bad in Japan feels about you. You discover just how All Might was injured and things get just a lil’ bit steamy.
---------------------
He was gone for over half an hour and you’d spent that time preparing the dressings you’d need for him. The wound was in a semi awkward place- just below the dip of his collarbone, so you’d had to dig out the gauze tape.
All the while, you attempted to calm the rapid, dizzying beat of your heart.
Those damn breathing exercises that Ivy had taught you were doing jack shit, especially with the feeling of his hands still imprinted firmly on your hips.
Were you really going to do this tonight?
It wasn’t as though you hadn’t danced around him for months now, the unyielding pull of his orbit spinning you closer and closer until the inevitable collision. But as you stood on the precipice, feet towing the line and looking into the abyss… there was still some trepidation.
Was he just doing this to prove that he could get into your pants?
Where the hell would it even go? He was, at his core, a villain and nothing you could do or say would ever change his nature.
Not that you would want to. You weren’t here to ‘fix’ him in any other way but physically.
Yet, despite all of the reservations that swam in your head, you couldn’t deny the chemistry that had always bubbled between you. Especially in those moments that you forgot just who he was and he was just idling around your apartment with you. Those moments made you just as hot as when you saw him pummelling some wannabe hero on TV.
Making him coffee while he fixed your kitchen sink. Actually… finding out that he could fix a kitchen sink had been jarring enough. Bickering over which movie to watch, when you knew he was going to win like he always did- but arguing with him for the fun of it anyway.
That day you’d found out that he did a fucking wicked impression of Endeavor and you’d howled with laughter- then caught him looking immensely proud of himself afterwards.
Even now, the memory of it made your lips quirk in a stupid smile.
Seeing that side of him made it so easy to separate him from the man the rest of the world saw. They weren’t privy to all the things that made him unique. Would it really be so wrong of you to give in?
The filthy promise he’d made still rang in your ears.
Slow, hard and all night long. Your thighs clenched in anticipation.
Your phone buzzed cheerily on the side table and the coffee you’d made for yourself in his absence sloshed against the side of the mug when you jumped.
An unknown number usually meant one of two things. Either All Might was calling you to ask how to perform some horrible mutilation on a person without them losing too much blood- or Ivy was calling for a chat.
Since the former was currently using up all of your hot water- seriously, thirty five minutes now- you correctly guessed that it was the latter. You answered, immediately perking up at the sound of her voice.
“Babes, is that beefy idiot of yours there? His little henchmen have been tearing apart half of the city trying to find him,” she said, not even bothering with hello. You tutted. Of course he’d just up and vanished without giving anyone a hint that he was okay.
“Hi Ivy,” you said pointedly and you could almost hear her roll her eyes at your insistence of politeness. “Yeah, he’s here.”
 She grumbled.
“Ugh, will you please tell him to call off his goons before I have to kill any more of them for disrespecting me,” she said, like murdering henchmen was all too taxing for her. You knew differently. She was probably enjoying the change of pace. You half smiled, shaking your head.
What exactly was your life? Passing messages between villains like some kind of sentient answering machine.
“Hold on. He’s in the shower,” you said, escaping the soft light of the living room and heading in the direction of the still -goddamn it- running water. His clothes were piled where you’d told him to leave them and you were oddly touched to find that he’d arranged them in a way that the bloodied parts weren’t on your carpet.
He could be considerate when he wanted to be.
Biting your lip, you eventually worked up the courage and knocked on the door. You knew that he was grinning from ear to ear, probably expecting you to barge in and simply toss your panties over your shoulder while you were at it.
Hmm. There was plenty of time for that later.
“Did you miss me already, sweet thing? Am I that irresistible?” he said, his tone all deep and buttery and the image of him stark naked and soaking wet stole your voice for a moment. You couldn’t help but wonder if he was taking so long because he was- taking care of himself.
Your stomach whirled pleasantly at the thought of him stroking a hand along his thick-
“Hey! Don’t forget to tell him that they have like, zero manners. I’m appalled at how rude they all are. This is no way to treat a lady!”
Ivy’s irritated voice turned away from the phone for a moment. A crunch and a half-halted scream told you that she was more than handling herself against All Might’s minions.
You licked your bottom lip, squeezing your eyes shut and trying not to picture him behind the damn door again. Otherwise you’d never get out the words you needed to say. You’d get your chance to join him later, when your dumb obligation as his doctor wasn’t coming first.
“Um, Ivy says your little minions are out of control again. You might want to deal with that, big guy,” you informed him and you heard him swear loudly, a colourful mix of words that would have made a sailor blush.
The water, at long last, shut off.
You hadn’t really considered what would come next, despite the fact that he’d clearly left his pants- and by extension- phone right next to where you were standing.
The door opened and you suddenly had a face full of muscular, soaking wet chest. You barely even noticed his smug expression, too busy trailing your eyes down and focusing with laser like precision on the trail of blond hair that started at his bellybutton and vanished underneath his towel.
All Might had a fucking happy trail. How had you not noticed it earlier?
 Oh yeah. All the blood.
You had died. You were dead and buried and this was Heaven and of course your version of Heaven would have a soaking wet, naked super villain in it.
Every brain function ceased and all you could register was the heat of the steam billowing out from behind him and the aching urge you now felt to catch the lone water droplet that was rolling down along his abdomen with your tongue.
It dipped into his bellybutton then out again, before soaking into the towel that he’d slung low around his hips.
“You know, as much as I’m enjoying your reaction sweetheart,” he rumbled, openly amused by your gaping, idiotic staring. “I do need my phone before I lose any more men to the sewer rat.”
“I fucking heard that, you jackass!” Ivy screeched and you were brought back to reality, aware that your face was now glowing red.
He leaned down past you and fished his phone from his pants pocket and you could feel the sweet, water warmed heat of his skin as he passed so close to you. You resisted the urge you suddenly felt to throw your legs over your head.
You didn’t even know if your legs could do that and Ivy might not appreciate having to wait any longer for a reprieve.
When he straightened up, he grinned at you and it was… different than his usual cocky smiles. This one was toothy and almost soft and his free hand came up to your chin, gripping it much like he had earlier. Except this time, it wasn’t to threaten you.
It was to bring your lips to his in a nipping, hard kiss that took the air out of your lungs.
 Hnnng.
“Soon kitten,” he murmured, biting your bottom lip once more playfully. “Don’t forget, this was your bright idea.”
He winked at you before retreating back into the bathroom. You remained standing on the other side of the door for a long moment, cursing yourself for being so worried about him when you could be splayed out underneath him right now- morals be damned.
You only remembered that Ivy was still on the line when you heard her voice asking if everything was okay.
Fuck, it was more than okay. Not long from now, you were going to have that between your legs. More than ever you wished you hadn’t skipped all those yoga classes because this was going to be... challenging.
Said legs carried you shakily back down the hall and away from the temptation to break the door down while you waved your bra over your head.
Sexy.
“He’s um- he’s calling someone now,” you cleared your throat, choosing not to sit on your bloodied couch and instead canting your hip against your dining table. “Sorry Ives. If I’d have known he was AWOL I’d have made him call sooner. I know what those idiots are like…”
His henchmen were notorious for running riot without him there to rein them in. He was, surprisingly, like seventy three percent of their impulse control. It was a shame he lacked any himself.
“You know, I’m not even surprised any more,” she tutted. “He could have at least let one of his lackey’s know before he went and squared up against- wait-” Her voice paused just as she reached the bloody good bit and you fought the urge to interrupt. “Maybe he’s been too busy to phone anyone… Wanna tell me what you’ve been up to?”
Ivy knew what had gone down tonight by the sound of it. But she was also distracted and you knew you would get nowhere without indulging her curiosity first.
“Oh yeah, he’s been super busy getting a big ass gash on his shoulder stitched up. Not much time for phone calls,” you hedged slyly. Ivy didn’t need to know he’d also been busy with his mouth on your neck while you attempted not to moan like a a porn star. Definitely a detail that could be left out.
“Not going to lie sweets, I was convinced you were going to say getting a blowjob.”
 “Fucking hell, Ivy.”
“What!? There’s nothing wrong with getting busy after a life threatening situation. I’m amazed that you both have so much restraint,” she said and despite your irritation over these villains all up in your personal life, you couldn’t find it in yourself to disagree with her out loud. “You said he was all sliced up? Did he tell you how he got it?”
 Interest?
 Piqued.
“No! He’s being really secretive about it,” you said hurriedly as though Ivy would hang up on you at any second. She wouldn’t but you were far too eager to hear this story and your brain refused to function normally. “Do you know?”
“I’m not technically supposed to, but well… henchmen talk darling, especially under the threat of pain…”
“Ivy spill,” you said, dragging the word out into a whine. Ivy loved to tell a tale but you were impatient now. You wanted to hear what had happened before he came out of the shower. Not just because you didn’t want him to catch you snooping in his business but also because there was the promise of fantastic sex to come too.
“Oh sweets, do I have a story for you,” Ivy squealed gleefully. Your heart beat hard in your chest in anticipation and you hoped that she wouldn’t drag it out too much. “I hope you’re sitting down for this because it’s just, mwah-” she made a kissing noise and you snorted.
“Ivy, come on. While I’m still young.”
“Tut tut, there’s no rushing a good thing. Or do you like it fast?” she teased, flirtatiously.
You rolled your eyes and tutted into the phone, not in the mood to be teased. At least… not by Ivy.
You checked over your shoulder- in case All Might had snuck up on you or was lurking in the doorway. He had a habit of doing that, just to make you jump. But he was nowhere to be seen, probably still on the phone, berating one of his second in command for their bad behaviour.
You hoped it was Shigaraki getting a talking to. That guy gave you nothing but bad vibes.
“So, I take it you remember last week, when you and I dished about that weirdo you treated? You know Hinata Cash?” she said his name almost cautiously as if worried that being too quick would bring back the memories before you would be able to handle them.
You made a strangled noise that could have been agreement as your brief but memorable encounter with Hinata Cash came rushing back from the deep, dark part of your memories that you’d shoved it into.
A chill raced along your spine.
“Are you okay, sweets?” Ivy asked cautiously.
“M’fine,” you said, clearing your throat. You wouldn’t let the mere mention of the creep make you uncomfortable. Ivy still paused until you reaffirmed that you were okay with talking about him though. “What about him? Is he still being a disturbing son of a bitch?”
Your bravado was all show. You both knew it, but Ivy continued like she bought into your act.
“Well, it turns out he was quite the talking point in some circles... Not enough to play with the big boys like your honey bun,” she said, probably giving the phone a shit eating grin. You didn’t even berate her for it and the teasing tone she’d aimed for fell away awkwardly. “But he was doing enough to get himself noticed. He’d started coming in to the Golden Cat on weekends. A few of the girls there told me about him…”
“All good things, I bet,” you said, rubbing your arm nervously. There was really no reason to feel nervous, not with your door locked and All Might in your bathroom, but that didn’t stop tendrils of unease winding around your neck.
“He started going by Scissorhands- Ugh, it was tacky if you ask me,” she sniffed primly. Never let anyone tell you that Ivy wasn’t a class act, you thought fondly. Still, the name made your insides twist uncomfortably. From what you’d seen on the snippets of news reports that day- he’d certainly lived up to his chosen name.
You had never been truly frightened in all the years that you’d been treating criminals. Even during that first meeting with All Might, you had never felt like you were in any immediate danger- so long as you kept your mouth shut and remained respectful.
 But Cash…
He was the type to cut your throat because he didn’t like the colour of your curtains or some shit.
His entire visit had deeply unsettled you and set you on edge for days afterwards. Even now, despite the fact that he hadn’t delivered on his ‘promise’, you couldn’t really settle.
Every movement he’d made that day, every little twitch of his hands had caused your body to recoil and had it not been for the tight hold you had over your Quirk, you might have done more harm than good.
Thankfully, it had been a straight forward procedure but from the way your body trembled, you’d have thought it was your very first time all over again. He’d picked up on your nerves from the moment he’d sat down, leering whenever you flinched.
Glass and debris had become embedded directly under his left eye from the bank robbery he’d partaken in, just hours before. It had been on the Channel Five news, which was partly why you were so on edge. His fingers had still been bloody from the security guard he’d literally torn apart.
Heavy set, with wide shoulders and contrasting sharp features, you knew that had he made a move that day, you wouldn’t have had a chance to fight him off.
The shaking of your hands had thankfully been negated by your Quirk.
Precision wasn’t the most amazing Quirk in the world but it was particularly useful in your line of work. Being able to hit your target despite the shaking of your hands had saved you precious time.
Quick, yet terrified, you’d cleaned up his face and as politely as you could, tried to see him out. But his hand had clamped down on your thigh, too high for comfort and your whole body froze- your eyes staring unseeingly past him.
You couldn’t breathe in anything more than quick, frightened gasps. He seemed to revel in them.
You felt like a rabbit in the jaws of a wolf, seconds before the deadly bite.
He’d leaned in close, his breath repulsive and sour and you’d thought of a million ways to escape in those few seconds- none of them even remotely useful.
“I really appreciate this, Doc. It’s hard to find a woman with steady hands like yours...”
He had lifted one of them, examining it.
“Wonderful quirk. So useful... I can see why All Might likes you so much. I think I quite like you too.”
You had prepared for the worst. Mentally written your last will and testament and prayed to God that when he was finished with you he would just leave Marco be- the thought of him harming your cat suddenly far more prevalent in your mind than what was going to happen to you.
Strangely though, he’d simply gotten up from the chair, stroked your cheek as you sat there like a statue and then let himself out. Not before throwing his parting remark over his shoulder, though. The one that had been haunting you all week.
“I’ll see you again real soon, honey.”
Naturally, you hadn’t gone after him for the payment he’d skimped out on.
Hell to the no. Instead, you’d locked your front door, hyperventilated for a good fifteen minutes on your living room floor and then much to your embarrassment… you’d called All Might.
For the first time ever.
You had passed the call off as some dumb suggestion that he come over for pizza and a movie, like you were best friends and not potential-fuck-buddies. You hadn’t even had the strength to hide the tremble in your voice, nor the will to throw in any bravado. It had been a brutally honest call- one that you had never wanted to make.
It was like letting him see the real you. Removing that final barrier between you that might hold you back from feeling anything real. That conversation had changed something, you thought. Something deep.
“H-Hey! I know I never call like this but... I-I… Could you come over?”
Your voice had been small and shaky, with you on the verge of tears- even though you would rather die than let them fall over someone so vile.
There had been a pause on the other end, mid-way through whatever sarcastic thing he’d been about to berate you with.
 “Please?”
You had added that without even thinking about it, voice catching and the grip of Cash’s hand still burning on your thigh. You had thought, in that silence, that he was going to brush you off. Either that or demand to know what was wrong. Thankfully, he did neither.
 “Ten minutes.”
The longest ten minutes of your life. He had found you pacing a hole in the floor of your living room and petting the ever-loving bejesus out of Marco- stressed to the max. You’d locked eyes with him and he hadn’t even had to ask if you were glad to see him. Your face said it all.
He hadn’t asked what had happened and you hadn’t told him… but he’d stayed anyway. A real villain, that one.
“Sounds about right to me,” you scoffed, tone disgusted at the thought of that… that man. “Ives, I don’t scare easily, you know that... but I know full well what he wanted and it wasn’t a back rub. What does this have to do with why All Might turned up injured?”
You felt unsettled at having him brought up out of the blue. You’d been quite happy to forget all about him and the way that his gaze had made your skin crawl.
“Everything. The word should be getting out any minute now, about our dear departed Tim Burton knockoff.”
You paused, startled and unsure if you’d heard her right.
 “Departed?”
“Oh, he’s very, very dead darling,” Ivy said lightly, as if she was just telling you the weather for the day.
The relief that washed over you was momentous and almost made your knees give way, causing you to grip the table for support. He was dead. You were free of the lurking shadow of fear that plagued your days and nights. The one that robbed you of decent sleep because you were jumping at every little noise in your apartment.
“Is it bad that I just wanna say ‘Oh thank God’?” you replied, breath knocked from you. Ivy laughed. She sounded just as pleased as you felt.
“You won’t be the only one, I’m sure. He must have put up a halfway decent fight, if it took you that long to stitch up a little old cut,” she said, pointedly as though waiting for you to work things out. She was probably disappointed that she didn’t get to see your reaction when you did.
 Oh. Holy shit.
“All Might killed him!?” you squeaked, then lowered your voice drastically in case he heard you. “Are you fucking with me right now, Ivy? Because that’s not cool.”
You didn’t really know how to feel about it, if it was true. You were more than relieved that the looming shadow of Cash was gone forever but regretful that somehow, All Might had found out what you’d tried to keep from him and had gotten himself hurt in the process of doing something about it.
“It’s true,” she said, confirming it. “You and I both know I hate giving that overrated blowhard any credit… but something had to be done about him. Cash had it coming, either way. There are plenty of girls at the Golden Cat who’ll be glad to see him gone.”
You swallowed hard. Your silence was more you being concerned over All Might’s well being than over the fact that he had killed a man tonight. He’d killed plenty of people in the time you’d known him.
That wasn’t about to destroy the image of him that you had.
It was more the deep seated worry that always gripped you when he was involved in something dangerous. Usually, you could worry yourself sick over the news broadcast and at least then, if anything happened, you would know.
But tonight, he’d gone out there and gone one on one with a man who could rip people apart from the inside out- and you hadn’t even known. What if he’d never come back? What if he’d died because of you and word would get back to you, weeks down the line that you would never see him again?
Something horrid lodged in your stomach.
“Won’t he get heat from other villains?” you asked to distract yourself, rubbing the top of Marco’s head as he trotted past- blissfully unaware of your minor breakdown. “Isn’t there some… I dunno… Code of conduct or something? Honour among thieves?”
Ivy snorted, obviously amused at your blatant lack of knowledge. You would think that someone as deep into the criminal underworld as you were would at least know a little about how things operated. But no.
You chose to remain blissfully ignorant.
“Hmm, well here’s the thing. The King makes the rules and All Might, well… as much as I’m loathe to admit it, he wears the crown babes. Who the Hell is going to argue with him?” she asked and you bit your lip, the fear of retaliation lessening.
It was no secret that he was both feared and respected- enough to keep even the toughest of the tough under his thumb. There wasn’t a Hero or Villain in the world who could realistically take him on, one on one, and win.
That thought relaxed you and the horrid sensation lessened. It didn’t leave entirely, but it receded enough that you could breathe again.
“Anyway, to cut a long story short… Cash wasn’t exactly secretive about what he liked to do to girls. He was always running his mouth and tonight, he came in absolutely singing about some pretty little Doctor that he’d fallen head over heels for…” Ivy said sourly, obviously not enjoying this part of the story.
You enjoyed it even less. It didn’t take a genius to work out just who that Doctor was. Your hope that he’d just been trying to scare you when he threatened to see you again had been futile, apparently and you were suddenly so glad that you’d asked All Might to stay that night.
“ You’re pretty well known yourself around here, sweets. Did you know that?”
You hadn’t known, no, but you kept quiet.
“It didn’t take long for a few of the regulars to work out just who Cash was talking about. Word got around like wildfire and eventually got to old Shigaraki himself. From what I’ve heard through the grapevine tonight, it took five and a half minutes from Shigaraki calling his boss, until All Might was storming the Golden Cat.”
Damn, there had been you, badmouthing Shigaraki not ten minutes ago in your head. If it hadn’t been for him telling All Might, who knows what would be happening to you right now?
You made a mental note to be extra nice to him the next time you saw him.
The thought that Cash had been interested in you made you shudder, sickened at the thought of him even thinking about you like that. Your body felt grimy and you resisted the urge to run to the bathroom and scrub yourself clean.
All Might was officially your fucking hero and he could pry that word from your cold, dead hands.
Sure, he would be horrified at the implication but that didn’t make it any less true. Maybe that’s why he’d brushed off your questioning earlier, being difficult when you wanted to know how he’d been injured.
You caught yourself grinning stupidly, attempting to hide it by biting your lip. You realised that there was no point. Ivy couldn’t see you anyway.
“So, I think the message is officially loud and clear. No-one fucks with the good Doctor,” she laughed, all angelic and sweet and you beamed down the phone, laughing along with her. You felt a heady sort of rush as the realisation that you were safe again sunk in. That the villains you had helped and minded and treated like people over the years had heard that you were in danger and had come to the rescue in their own way.
The realisation that… that he cared. Deep down, past his angry and irritable nature, he really cared.
 “Ivy, I-”
Without warning, two large, muscular arms wrapped around your waist from behind and you might have jumped had All Might not buried his face into your neck and rumbled a low, lazy growl, like a bear waking up from hibernation. He nuzzled you with a deliberate slowness, lips pressing warm against your throat.
“You still talking to the sewer rat?” he murmured, sounding annoyed because he knew you wouldn’t hang up on her just because he said so- and so he would have to wait as patiently as he could until you were done.
On the other hand, it was an opportunity to rile Ivy up as much as possible.
“It’s Vagabond, you overgrown man child,” she hissed down the line, all previous goodwill towards him gone from her voice.
All Might ignored her, choosing instead to tug you back until you were plastered against his chest and he could lay his kisses along your shoulder- even though he still had to stoop down to reach. How did he even get so tall? Your breath caught in your throat, longing and gratitude fighting for the number one spot.
He wasn’t going to stay patient for much longer and neither were you.
“Listen, I gotta go, Ives. Love you, babes,” you said quickly and she cackled manically, well aware of where you were rushing off to in such a hurry. This was only proving her right. She would be insufferable for weeks now.
“Love you too, sweets! Try not to break anything. Like the building.”
You hung up to the sound of her laughter and turned in All Might’s arms, surprising him when you pulled him down for a kiss. You were long past the point of worrying about morals and right and wrong. There couldn’t be anything wrong in wanting him like you did. In knowing that he protected you and cared about you in his own way- no matter if he never said it out loud.
 He broke away, smirking.
“Someone’s eager,” he ground out, hands sweeping up along your sides. His thumb brushed the underside of your breast and you pulled in a shaky, uneven breath. “I bet you’ll be fucking soaking…”
Well, he wasn’t wrong. Those intense eyes trailed over your face, lingering on your lips until he locked his gaze with yours.
“Thank you,” you blurted out, without meaning to.
One of his eyebrows quirked, amused.
“You’re thanking me for making you wet? That’s a new one on me sweetheart but sure. I’ll take the credit where it’s due,” he laughed cockily, one hand on the back of your head as he dove forward again and kissed you roughly. This one was all teeth and tongue and your knees shook, suddenly feeling thankful that he was holding you up.
You moaned softly, powerless but confident under his touch.
There was no pushing him back, no sliding your tongue into his mouth because the man was a force of nature and practically every inch of him was pure muscle. So you were content to let him take what he wanted from you, for now. Later you would find a way to turn the tables- to make him the quivering pathetic mess.
Right now, all you wanted was to find out all of the ways he kissed.
The angry ones, the lust filled ones, the sweet ones. The good morning kisses and the I’m happy to see you kisses and all the fucking kisses in between. You were off to a great start. You sighed, tangling your fingers in his hair and stroking your thumb in a circle on his scalp.
He melted under your touch and deep down you revelled in the fact that he was just as affected by you as you were by him.
“I um,” you stuttered, swallowing hard when you reluctantly pulled away from him. He looked as though he wanted to follow your mouth but for a change he let you speak. “I didn’t mean thank you for- for that.”
“For what?” he asked knowing full well what you meant, his tongue darting out over his bottom lip.
“For…” Your face heated quickly, without you even realising it.
Without warning, a hand was shoved between your already shaky legs and he pressed upwards, cupping your pussy and dragging a half halting, surprised moan out of your throat. He almost took you off your feet and your fingers wrapped over his biceps to steady yourself.
“For. What?” All Might asked again, applying pressure in all the places you needed pressure applied. Oh you were well and truly fucked and he hadn’t even gotten you naked yet.
“Cause if you’re blushing now, kitten, then I can’t wait to see what you’ll be like when we really get going,” he continued, nuzzling along your cheek and rubbing his palm over your aching pussy. “M’not a mind reader. You have to tell me what you want. Where you want me. How hard you want me to pound into you. I wanna hear you sobbing my name like it’s the last fucking thing you’ll ever say tonight. Think you can do that for me? Hmm?”
You were gripping his arms for dear life, trying to focus on the steady heaving of your lungs. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
“Yeah, yeah, I can do it,” you promised, almost without hearing the words come out of your mouth. “I promise.”
“Good girl,” he purred encouragingly and you just about lost your shit for a few seconds, along with any sense you might have had left as the praising words repeated on a loop in your head. “Now, I’ll ask again. What weren’t you thanking me for?”
He was grinning wickedly against your cheek, eyes boring into yours.
“For making me wet,” you responded finally, when your tongue no longer felt like it weighed a hundred pounds and you remembered how to speak actual words and not just garbled syllables.
He groaned- actually groaned like you were the one touching him, instead of the other way around and it sent a shivering wave of heat spreading out at the base of your spine. Your clit throbbed mercilessly under the heat of his palm.
“Christ kitten,” he said, voice hoarse. He didn’t pull his hand away like you thought he would though. You were still sensitive from your little dry humping session earlier and the pressure he was applying was agonising torture for so many reasons.
You both knew he would pull away though if you even tried to set the pace. He’d made it perfectly clear that he was in charge.
“Now, what were you thanking me for? You’ve got me all curious.”
You felt dizzy and the words didn’t exactly come easily. The heat radiating off of his bare chest was intoxicating and so was the sight of all those well defined, rippling muscles so easily within reach. You indulged yourself, seeing as you hadn’t been able to earlier. You lightly trailed the pads of your fingers over his pectoral muscle and down at a steady pace, over the hardness of his abs and then to the tempting, glorious V shape that led under-
Your smile came unbidden to you and he noticed, knowing immediately what you were grinning like an idiot about. He was wearing the pajama pants you’d gotten him.
They were simple, nondescript pants like any guy would wear but… you’d gotten them in his favourite colour and he’d actually put them on.
You’d expected him to either stay in his towel or well, just get the clothes out of the way entirely.
“Yeah, yeah,” he snorted, releasing you when he realised that he’d gotten your attention in an entirely different way. The loss of sensation between your legs was more than worth it to see him standing there, a little awkwardly, with his arms crossed. “Don’t be a jackass about it, for fuck sake. I just didn’t want to have my dick out when I was eating dinner.”
“Like that would bother you,” you beamed and he grunted something petulant that you didn’t hear.
“You gonna tell me what you’re thanking me for, or what?” he said after a moment, ignoring the obvious erection that was tenting the front of said pants. You found it very, very hard to ignore but dragged your eyes up to his face after a moment anyway. His self assured smirk was expected.
He knew how attractive he was and what it was doing to you. Damn him.
“Cash,” you managed to say after a moment and it clearly didn’t answer his question. He looked at you like you were an idiot.
“You… want cash? Here was me thinking you weren’t a whore,” he cackled, pleased at his own cleverness. You were less amused, punching him lightly in the arm. The shaking of his shoulders didn’t stop but at least he was no longer laughing out loud.
You were trying to spill your heart to the big jerk and he couldn’t stop mocking you for more than five seconds.
“Come on! Stop being a dick,” you scowled, arousal now tainted with annoyance. He rolled his eyes and scrubbed a hand over his slicked back hair, his laughter dying after a moment.
“Alright, alright! Explain yourself, woman,” he swept his hands out, metaphorically giving you the floor.
“Hinata Cash,” you elaborated, expecting the penny to drop. But when he continued to look lost, it slowly dawned on you that he’d never even bothered to learn the guys name. All he’d known was that he was going to do something to hurt you and… that had been enough for him to go on. Your heart thrummed in your chest. “Um, Scissorhands?”
Much like they had earlier, his eyes darkened, flashing a sudden warning that it wasn’t something he wanted to discuss. Unlike earlier though, you ignored it. Answers to your question were just out of reach.
“Why are you bringing up that motherfucker?” he asked gruffly, then swept past you almost dismissively before you could answer. He disappeared into your kitchen, his back to you. Not the reaction you had been expecting. The heated air had vanished- as had the playfulness he’d exuded moments before. “Way to kill a mood, doll.”
You suddenly regretted opening your mouth. He hadn’t told you- and if he hadn’t told you, there had been a reason for it.
“Shit,” you hissed softly to yourself, listening to him stomping around the kitchen behind you.
You turned and followed him, pathetically useless against the part of you that longed to be near him. Besides, there was no taking it back now and you were burning up with curiosity.
Why had he killed Cash? Why had he even bothered himself at all?
Most of all, you wanted- no needed to know.
Had he done it for you?

WHG 15 Post-Games Imposter Syndrome Part 25
This is a couple of days after part 24. I haven’t really proofread these, so I hope there aren’t too many typos! Tagging the collaboration crew: @ratracechronicler, @maple-writes, @pen-of-roses (also thanks for Avery and Haven!), and @thoughts-of-nora!
That morning, I woke up when my phone buzzed. I frowned and looked at it. The number…it was Shine’s number. Shit. What was the Capitol doing now?
I opened it anyway, and I froze, staring at the message. Bring me that horizon. Fly out to the sea.
Tears filled my eyes, and I looked away from the phone. How did the Capitol know about the code? Or, could it possibly be someone from the crew? I sucked in a breath and texted back. Who the hell is using this phone and why?
I sat back, tears falling down my cheeks. I couldn’t sit in here. I couldn’t look at my phone. I stood up and walked to the door and looked out. Just in time to see Avery leaving the apartment, not even with any Peacekeeper escort. What were they having her do? And was there anything I could do to help?
So, I followed her out, sneaking very sneakily. She walked through the Capitol towards a nondescript building, but when she walked down an alley, and I followed her, she pulled a knife on me.
Eh. I hadn’t been trying to be super sneaky anyway. I grinned at her. “Hi! You’re amazing at this! How are you doing?”
She looked confused for a bit before she backed off and started tossing her knife. “We’ve been captured by the Capitol and you’re trailing me, so either you’re part of them and very bad at being a tail, or you’re overly curious for your own good. They already know I won’t make a break again, I didn’t before the Games.”
“Eh. I just want to see what’s going on. What else the Capitol is planning. Their old tricks for me are so boring. And maybe I could help a little?”
She snorted, but she just kicked back against the wall and started walking, but giving me enough room to walk with her. “Come on then, doubt they’ll really care if someone else is there, particularly someone with magic. Gods, they’ll probably be thrilled. Any chance you’re good at researching it? Or have learned anything useful about your boyfriend?”
Ugh. Did she have to bring Bystander up? “Not like I wanted him to be my boyfriend. Actually, he’s a horrible kisser.” I paused, distinctly thinking about how much of a lie that last one was. “But I’m pretty damn good at research, so I’ll see what I can do.”
She smiled, putting the dagger in her jacket pocket. “Really the pretty boy isn’t as great as he pretends to be, huh? Shame, but I doubt they’ll care much for one of their kissing skills. Unless you think he can be bested by undoing his ego?”
“I’ve already tried to hurt his pride enough. I don’t think anything bothers him. He’s told me that he has an unnaturally long life, and he can…hear better than normal? But I don’t know how much truth he was telling.”
“Sadly, the complete truth. Though vague enough to still be close to a lie.” She pinched the bridge of her nose. Mood. “You don’t seem to have fallen for his ‘charms’ though, thank gods for that or else I’m not sure I’d be able to stand you.”
I again distinctly didn’t think about how good he was at kissing. “Oh, he’s a piece of shit.” I shook my head. It was annoying to think about him. “But I can’t stand thinking about him the whole time. I’m curious about this group you’re going to.” Of course I had tried to look up some stuff on what was going on with the rest of the captured tributes. “I haven’t heard about them. What are their goals?”
“Do you want the party line that dragged me into it, or my best guess at the truth? The former is ‘keeping people safe from magical and divine threats against us so people can stay in charge of their own lives’. Hence my research and questions. Somehow I thought that meant they’d never be in bed with the Capitol of all people.”
Huh. Interesting. I nodded. “Especially because the Capitol employs magic threats. And would that mean I’m one too since I have magic? Which means their whole motto is untrue.” I sighed. This was so tiring. “I really love people who think they can save humans from magic.” The Shades said the same excuse.
She nodded as well. “Speaking of, what exactly is your magic like? They’ve been giving us just enough information to keep Haven sated, but I’ve always been a bit more hands on with research.”
It would be prudent to be a little cautious. I didn’t know what they would do if I just gave them everything. I eyed her. “Will they destroy me after I give away all my secrets? If so, I’d like to keep them, if that’s okay.”
“Fair enough, and worth a shot.” Avery took the dagger out of her pocket, rolled the sleeve up on her jacket, and pressed the dagger to her arm. It disappeared into a tattoo, and I blinked and stared. That was so cool! “I’d say it’d be hypocritical of them to do so, but…” She stiffened slightly as we approached the building, and a man was waiting for us. Haven?
“Avery, is there a reason why you’re late?” He was staring straight at me, so I smiled and waved.
“She wants to join us, maybe give a demonstration or two like we were promised.” Avery covered up her arm quickly.
“Indeed? Then it is time we get started, shall we?” He turned on his heel and walked into the building, not waiting for a response. Oh boy.
Avery hesitated and turned back to me. “Last chance to run.”
Oh, I’d mess with him a little instead. The way Avery was acting, it would be fun to mess with him. I smirked. “I’m not going anywhere. Hope that’s okay with you.”
“Just keep your head down, these people are how I ended up in the Games in the first place.” She led me to a small room that looked like an office, with papers and books lying around everywhere. Beautiful! There were so many books!
Before I could go look at the books, my eyes landed on Haven. He was reading one of the papers. Avery headed in. “Wonderful, you’re apparently worthy of an audience today.”
Fun! “I guess I’m just that interesting. So, do we start reading? What are we looking for?”
“Currently, we’re focusing on them and any accounts we can find, some of whom we’ve already met.” She gestured at the photographs on the wall, with people who looked suspiciously like Reine, Aleksis, and Conor in them. And some others I didn’t recognize. “As well as anyone else we—”
Haven decided to graciously interrupt. “Given our guest, it might be better to switch focuses for the day on them.”
Oh, I didn’t mind if they found out everything about the Shades. But I probably wouldn’t be much help. “The Shades?” I crossed my arms. “I’m afraid I don’t know much about them. Especially not any weaknesses.”
“Shame, but you do know something?” He nodded at Avery, and she brushed past me to sit down at her desk and grabbing a piece of paper and a writing utensil.
“I do. I’ve had to deal with Churi enough to know something about them.” But I wouldn’t just divulge information unless he specifically asked.
“What do you know of their origins?”
“They just showed up one day, claiming that our magic was evil, so they took it away and will only give the magic to people they control.”
“And yet there’s you, a sign their control isn’t as strong as they claim.” In the background, Avery was writing down notes and looking through books. Hopefully, I could do that soon.
I cocked my head as a smirk pulled at my lips. “Yeah, I’m a fucking miracle. Or a fucking mistake. Whichever you prefer.”
He frowned slightly. “Is your power any different from what they give to others.”
“Yes.” If he wanted a specific answer, he should have asked.
His frown changed into a scowl, and Avery had to stifle a snicker in the background. “How?”
I still wouldn’t be specific. “It’s diluted with human blood.”
“Interesting difference,” Avery said as she wrote down notes.
“Indeed. A demonstration then?”
I shrugged. It still wasn’t giving away all my secrets. “Why not? You’ve probably already seen videos of me using my magic anyway. I haven’t exactly been subtle about it.” I walked over to the glass of water just sitting on the table, and I activated my magic. The water in front of me flashed, and it was now a pretty crystal flower.
Avery watched the demonstration intently and reached out to touch it afterwards. Her fingers brushed it before she spoke. “May I?”
I nodded and handed it to her after I deactivated my magic. And then I turned to Haven. “Does that satisfy your curiosity?”
“For the moment. Captain, keep an eye on her for the moment.” He left after Avery nodded while she was still staring at the flower and writing down notes.
She examined the flower more closely. “What exactly is this? It’s no longer water or even the more expected ice. Almost…crystalline? And you can do this naturally with no training?”
I turned to Avery. I wouldn’t answer all of her questions. Just some. “Crystal. And it’s as hard as a diamond. I can cut through almost anything with a crystal knife.”
“Is this what people were supposedly able to do before they took it away? And this is what they give people? How does it hold up against a diamond then? And when you say almost anything?” She went and sat back at the desk.
I laughed. All these questions were so much fun! “I haven’t tried it on everything, so I didn’t want to make a claim I couldn’t back up. Not sure how it holds up against a diamond. So, could you answer a question of my own? What’s with the knife tattoo change thing? That’s awesome!”
“Oh that, not nearly as impressive, a bit of old magic.” She slipped off her jacket, revealing multiple tattoos on her arms. Two knives, one looked like fire, and a cool symbol. “I can call upon them when I need them, daggers are particularly useful, as is fire when you’re lacking light. But the uniforms for the arena were covering my arms.”
“The Capitol probably did that on purpose, the jerks.” I leaned over to see what she was reading, and I smiled. Amanda Ginser. I knew that name. “Oh. That’s probably accurate information. That’s the fake name of the person I went to to get my information. Look for books by her. She always knows everything.”
She smiled and pulled out a stack of books by the same author, and I grinned and started looking through them. After a little bit, I glanced up at Avery. Her magic was just so interesting. “So, can you summon anything from those tattoos?”
“Not anything.” She thought for a bit. “I have to know the name of it in this language I’ve been looking into, or well my friend was looking into, I’m nowhere near as good as him at it. But then I have to make the tattoo out of a real object. It’s a rather complex process and we have many failed attempts tattooed on us from it when we were figuring it out.”
I grinned. “That’s so awesome! What’s the weirdest thing you’ve been able to summon?”
“Fire.” She put her hand carefully on the tattoo until a real fire appeared in her palm! Awesome! “We had to perfect getting it so we wouldn’t be burned in the creation and being able to perfectly capture what the magical deemed an acceptable replica…”
“Yeah, that’s amazing! I wish I could do that!”
“Your own ability seems to be far more useful to be honest, and versatile.”
“Eh.” I shrugged. “I have to be really close to the liquid to actually crystallize it, unlike someone whose magic wasn’t diluted.”
She shrugged and put out the fire. “Still,” she didn’t finish the sentence, just went back to reading, so I did too.
After a while, Avery spoke up. “Would you be against one more demonstration? I can literally not tell anyone else about it without putting myself in more danger for what I want to do if that helps.” She sounded casual, but there was an edge of nervousness to her voice.
I grinned with a shrug. “Why not? I like testing my magic too.”
“Consider this a test for us both then.” She relaxed and pressed a hand to the cool symbol tattooed on her arm and concentrated before nodding at me.
I found another water source and activated  my magic and crystallized it, this time into a small ship. I looked over at her. “Is that good?”
She blinked a few times, staring at the crystal, before she bit her lip. “Yeah, I…gods you’re so weird.” She stopped touching the symbol and slumped against the desk. “Not weird, just, not what I’m used to dealing with. I can’t get a read on you as easily as I can the others, maybe because you have a different source?”
I couldn’t help her there. I laughed. “I’m fine being weird. It’s more fun that way. Do you need me to do anything else?” Just to show off, I moved my hands and the ship molded into a small, crystal dog instead.
She sounded tired. “A viable way to get away from all this permanently would be nice. But I think I got what I was looking for, sadly I don’t think it’ll be much use to either of our predicaments.” She reached out to touch the crystal again.
A way to escape. My smile slipped from my lips. The message from Shine’s phone number. How trapped I really was. I sat down and started thumbing through some pages. “I’ll work on it.” I kept reading, and I came across a passage that mention hearsay about the Shades manipulating emotions. Huh. It had felt like Churi had done something like that before. “If you want to learn more about the Shades, I’ve been thinking about another ability I think they have that hasn’t been publicized yet.”
“It’s hardly on you alone—” She cut herself off when she looked up at me with wide eyes.
Glad I could help, at least a little. I took a deep breath. “This is just an educated guess, and I don’t know how they do it, but a few days ago, Churi visited me. When he wrapped his hand around my neck and breathed in, it was as if he took away all my emotions except fear. I couldn’t feel anything else, and it took a while for my other emotions to fully come back even after he broke contact. I think they can take away emotions and possibly just choose what to keep. I’m not sure why or how, but that’s what I felt. And this book mentions something in passing about a possibility that they can manipulate emotions. So, other people think the same way.”
“Well, that’s…useful? Can we, Abyss, what can we do with that? It’s…absolutely terrifying.” Her head fell in her hands, and she groaned. “What have we gotten ourselves into? Gods and magic and nightmares from under the bed, wasn’t this all supposed to be children’s stories?” She sounded like she was trying to sound teasing as she tilted her head to look at me.
This had been my whole life. I laughed ruefully. “If only. I wonder sometimes if it would have been nicer to not know anything about this. To just have a normal life without living in fear that the Shades would discover me.” I looked over at her. Better to not dwell on that. “How did you find out about this anyway?”
“I stole a book on magic as a child and broke into Haven’s home to learn more about a week later.” In the most deadpan tone.
Really? Wow! A thief! I loved it. I laughed. “That’s fantastic!”
Her smile grew. “Yes, but that’s a lie, I didn’t break into Haven’s home. I broke into the highly volatile magical area that was being investigated by him and his group and sat in the middle of it until they finally caught me.”
So dramatic! Looked like we’d get along. I smirked. “A woman after my own heart. I wish I could have seen his expression.”
With a fake serious expression, she ticked off on her fingers. “Surprise, anger—lot of that one—, confusion, worry, interest—the most dangerous of course—, and would believe me if I said fear?” Her shoulders were shaking from the effort of not laughing, and, damn it, it was infectious. “I think I watched the extent of all his emotions in under five minutes.”
“That’s awesome.” I leaned back in my chair. This was fun, but I’d love to get up to some mischief. “I wish I could do something like that right now.” And then I had the perfect idea. I eyed Avery. “Does Haven happen to have a hat I can steal?”
“Oh this sounds like a terrible idea. Lucky for you, those are the only ideas I listen to.” She winked and grabbed her jacket, and I grinned and followed her. She was amazing. She kept to the shadows, and there were times that I lost her, and I was right behind her.
No one saw us, and we made it to an office without any trouble. She picked the lock of the door after checking to make sure no one was there, and she opened the door for me with a wink. Hell, she was attractive when she did that. Mischief looked good on her.
It was a neat office, which meant it was boring. The desk was all organized, and the bookshelf mostly had pictures on it. And there was a coat and hat on a rack, but it was just a plain, old hat. RIP.
I sighed and walked up to the hat. “He’s got boring taste.” I snatched it anyway and put it on my head, turning to Avery with a grin. “But I’d say it still looks pretty good on me!” More serious tone. “You’re really good at the whole sneaking thing. Would you be willing to teach me sometime?”
She shifted uncomfortably and bit her lip. “If we ever get a chance yeah, after I’ve gotten out of my own mess. Sell your soul and all that.” She shrugged.
Was she still talking about getting out of the Capitol? I nodded. “Don’t worry. I’m working on it.” I winked. “So, it’s a date.”
She looked confused. Maybe I was wrong? “Working on undoing handing myself—wait what?” She sputtered, and I grinned a little more. She was cute when she was flustered.
I put a finger on Avery’s lips. “Shh. Don’t worry. We can figure out the details later.” With a wink.
“Uhm. Yeah, what?” She winced, swallowed hard, and took a deep breath. “We should, uhh, get back before,” She waved her hand toward the hallway, turning away from me.
I nodded and bowed. “After you.”
I stayed and researched with Avery until she went back. When I was back in my room, I looked at the reply from Shine’s number. This is Shine, and I’d like to meet you, if you can.
I fought tears and set the phone down. I couldn’t respond yet. Who were they trying to fool? Or maybe they weren’t and I had been lied to? They had started with the code, after all. I just didn’t know if I wanted to take the chance yet.

Walking down the steps of the most recent house you stopped at, you turned back to the Doctor with a smile “I still cannot get over the fact that this planet celebrates Halloween, AND that they give out candy to adults”
“Yes, well, you’re welcome.”
You looked at the doctor with a quizzical stare “What do you mean ‘you’re welcome’?”
He leaned a little closer, small smirk present on his lips “Who do you think introduced the holiday in the first place huh?”
You considered his comment for a moment, the initial surprise faded quickly “That actually makes a lot of sense.”
He winked before you continued down the road, your bags of candy swaying in your hands “I’m pretty sure someone gave me an entire tomato” you commented, peaking into your bag.
The Doctor snickered “Must be the same lady who gave me a cucumber”
You had both dressed in a classic Earth Victorian-styled outfit paired with a masquerade-style masks. As you passed the line of houses, you looked back momentarily, smiling at the array of lights and decorations lining the streets and houses. It did really remind you of Earth, though, instead of pumpkins, the people on this planet carved faces into the trees lining the roads, giving an all year ‘round Tim Burton’s Halloween Town feeling.
“That was fun” you commented, turning back and continuing towards the Tardis.
“Well it’s not over yet” the Doctor said with a small smirk.
“What do you mean? We went to all the houses.”
“Yes, but, we still have one more stop” he stopped in his tracks, you stopping along with him.
Stretching out is arm, he motioned towards the Blue Police Box. Looking between him and the Tardis you smiled “No”
“Yes” he motioned his arms in a shooing gesture as you turned and approached the Tardis. The Doctor watched you with a smile on your face, his hand reaching into his pocket gripping around a small piece of paper.
Stopping at the Tardis door, the Doctor moved to stand next to you, lifting your hands at the same time, you repeated the action you had been doing all night. Knocking three times and yelling “Trick or Treat!” you were startled when the Tardis door flung open.
Looking down, you see two large candy bars lying in the Tardis entry way, you smiled, letting out a chuckle “You’ve got to be kidding” you said in disbelief.
Leaning down, both you and the Doctor grabbed the candy, the Doctors gaze fell to your opened candy bag. Considering for a moment whether he should toss the note in or not, he decided not to as you began to rise. Entering into the Tardis, you looked up “Thank you!” you yelled out, knowing the Tardis could somehow hear and understand you.
You turned back to the Doctor with a smile as you set your bag of candy down “I’m going to go change and then we can go through our spoils okay?”
He nodded with a smile as you turned and quickly went to your room. The Doctor eyed your bag before leaving the room to change.
By the time he came back, you still had not returned. His eyes fell to the open bag again as he wracked his mind for a decision. ‘Just do it, just put it in the bag’ ‘No, it’s stupid, it makes no sense’ “Ugh” he sighed out loud as he fought with his own mind.
He leaned against the Tardis control panel as his mind flashed back to a conversation you had months prior as you sat in a park and watched a boy pass a young girl a love note, you assumed it said ‘Will you be my girlfriend, Yes or No?”. The Doctor made fun the action, but you insisted that confessions via note were cute, and could often be romantic and poetic.
Not that long after than, The Doctor found himself writing a small note to you, his confession in tact, romantic and poetic as you had commented. But he quickly ripped it up. Only to re-write it multiple times. The most recent note, the one currently in the grip of his palm was simple, purposefully vague as to possibly go anonymous in your mind.
‘You’re presence is a gift and I wish to never part with it, I wish to never part with your smile nor your kind heart, or your kind eyes. I would ask you to stay with me forever if I could’ he spoke the words in his mind, was it too much, or too vague? The first note he wrote was longer, full of more detail, but he did want to be vague, but maybe he shouldn’t? Grimacing at his own sappy thoughts, he looked back over at your bag as he thought of how much he had been debating telling you of his feelings.
With the note, he could possibly play it off, someone else put it in your bag. Specifically the young man you had met a few days previous in the town. He was quite smitten with you. The Doctor rolled his eyes at the thought, a sense of jealousy passing through him.
Suddenly the Tardis made a noise, it’s lights flickering. The Doctor looked up “Oh be quiet! It’s not your decision to make!”
He sighed as the Tardis blinked again. Turning, he tossed the note into your bag ‘There, I did it. And now I can’t turn back. If y/n believes it from the young man, I can learn how they feel about them, and possibly me in the process’ he thought to himself as he turned away “There, happy?” he spoke out loud.
“Who are you talking to?” you asked as you entered the room again.
The Doctor turned quickly, slightly startled by your entry “Tardis” he said, motioning his hands around.
“Ah” you said with a smile as you looked around as well. Approaching your bag, The Doctors hearts beat rapidly as he realized what he had done, and that he couldn’t turn back. ‘Just play it off, wait it out’ he thought.
Grabbing your bag you suddenly moved to sit on the floor “Alright, let’s see what we got huh?” you asked, looking up at the Doctor, who repeated your action “This reminds me of my childhood” you commented, nostalgia running through you as you smiled widely.
The Doctor smiled fondly at you as you dumped out the content of your bag. His eyes raked over the pile of candy, looking for the note, but seeing it had been buried. Maybe you’d miss it? Think it was a loose candy wrapper and throw it away?
The Doctor, having dumped out his candy as well was distracted when he saw a certain candy in his pile. Hearing him make a sound of disgust you see him pick up a particular candy - which of course you didn’t recognize - he pinched it between his fingers as if it was a dirty napkin he didn’t want to touch.
You chuckled, reaching out and snatching it from his hand, looking at it you couldn't make out what it was, giving him a quizzical look he motioned his head towards it “Try it”
“With how you reacted to it, I don’t know if I want to” staring at him for a moment and seeing him give nothing away you shrugged “Fine” unwrapping the candy it appeared to be a sort of toffee.
Tossing it into your mouth, the Doctor watched closely, waiting. You sucked on the candy for a second, the almost caramel like taste lasting for only a second before it switched to a sour, almost rancid taste. Grimacing you quickly spit it back into it’s wrapper with a ‘bleh’ sound before shaking your face “Ah, no, ew, what even is that?”
The Doctor laughed at your reaction as you tossed the candy into the trash, disgust still on your face “Give me something better” you said motioned towards the candy. The Doctor, still amused, reached over, picking up the previously mentioned tomato and handing it to you.
You looked at him with disdain as he chuckled. Instead you reached out, grabbing a random mysterious candy, opening it and shoving it into your mouth. The Doctor waiting for your reaction, smiled when you sighed in relief “Tastes sort of like apple”
Continuing looking through the candy, the Doctor explained the ones he knew, as you traded some and tried some. The Doctor remained distracted as he waited for you to find the note. His hearts seemed to stop when he saw you see the paper and grab it. He watched for a moment before asking “What’s that?”
You glanced at him, shrugging your shoulders “A note?”
Opening it you read the words, your heart skipping a beat as you did. For a moment, you thought you recognized the handwriting, but it did also appear different. Looking over at the Doctor he rose his brow “So? What is it? Trick or Treat?” he joked with a smile, trying to play off his nervousness.
Hesitating for a moment, you read it out loud. The Doctor seemed to be as confused as you were as he suddenly rose from his seat on the ground “Perhaps it was from that one man, Tom? Randy? you know the one that clearly fancies you, maybe he slipped it in when we stopped at their house earlier” he stretched his body as he spoke, seemingly uncaring of the confession you received.
Trying to ignore the pang of disappointment you felt you looked back at the note “You mean Adric?” you asked somewhat amused at his clear forgetfulness of his name, looking back at the note you read it again “Perhaps you are right, he did seem...interested” and he did flirt a lot with you when you and the Doctor had stopped at his house earlier.
The Doctor looked back at you, seeing you re-reading the note again and again, clearing his throat “Do you, uh, like him, as well then?”
You glanced at the Doctor, thinking you saw, trepidation? nervousness? “Uh, no, not really. Besides, even if I did, I couldn’t stay could I?” thinking for a moment, you rose from the ground “I think I will take it back to him tomorrow, and tell him how I feel”
"No!” the Doctor suddenly said, making you look at him surprise “Uh, I mean, no, we don’t have time, we must leave tomorrow, times to be, places to save you know.”
You stared at him for a moment, suspicion rising “I can’t just disappear can I? That’s quite rude.”
“Well it’s like you said, you can’t just stay, so what’s the point? Besides he’s quite pompous, a little childish, not right for you, he’ll surely get over it quickly” he suggested before turning and walking down one of the halls.
You couldn’t help the suspicion and hope growing in your mind, looking at the handwriting again, you noted that it really did look familiar, like The Doctors, and it was written as though it was purposefully disguised. Looking back up, now at the empty hallway. You moved to follow the Doctor.
“It would only take a moment you know!” you called out, not knowing exactly where he was “I could just, take the note to him, say I’m sorry I don’t feel the same, and now I have to leave!”
“No point!” you heard the Doctors voice from a nearby room.
Entering, you see him looking through a pile of random objects and books “Why don’t you want me to Doctor?” you asked, your voice not quite accusatory, but genuinely curious.
The Doctor hesitated for a moment before turning to face you “Just don’t see the point is all” moving, he walked past you.
“You’re not a very good liar sometimes you know” you commented, making him stop in the doorway.
“Why would I be lying?” he asked softly.
You took a step closer to him “You’re also not as good at disguising your handwriting as you think” The Doctor stayed motionless, still facing away from you “You wrote the note didn’t you?”
There was a moment of silence before he spoke “And what if I did?” the question was soft, quiet.
You smiled to yourself as you looked back at the note in your hand “If you did” you looked up, staring at the back of his head “Then I would thank you. And I would tell you, that I...wish to never leave your side either. And that if you did ask. I would stay forever.”
The Doctor had a swell of emotion as you spoke, your voice soft and sincere. Turning slowly, he met your eyes, seeing that you were nervous, as you fiddled with the note in your hands.
Moving towards you now, the Doctor stopped in front of you, close enough to feel his breath on your skin “You would stay?”
You met his eyes, seeing them full of hope, you nodded lightly, your voice coming out just above a whisper “Forever- ” you paused “if you wanted”
“I do” he replied quickly, his own voice quiet. Reaching out, he took your hand in his “It is all I want, it has been all I wanted since...”
“Since when?”
He smiled lightly, bringing his other hand up, he gently touched the side of your face with his fingers “Since the day I asked you to be my companion”
A small smile grew on your face as he spoke, knowing that on the same day, you wished you could stay with him forever as well. You stared into each other’s eyes as you both realized you had been harboring the same feelings, and same wish. To be together, forever, or for as long as time would allow.
