I think if I could just arbitrarily summon any kind of video game into existence, it would be a sprawling visual novel/roleplaying game (i.e. Disco Elysium) with an exhaustive in-game visualization of its dialogue trees. Every internal variable and conditional branch would be made external for your perverse voyeuristic pleasure. It would essentially be the same experience as reading a game's raw script—just prettier, and you can click on stuff.
A game like this would be exhausting for literally every party involved. That's why it would rule.

my tether indicator! an important bit of UI to get right in the big catch.
it not only communicates the distance from the tether as you approach, but also accommodates for several different states (locked on, tethered, offscreen, etc)
all of the big catch's UI is actual geometry driven by shape keys and physics springs!

I'm hoping they go even further with the tv ui in the remake as I want to feel like I'm playing a tv menu with jrpg elements.
Like just imagine that if they added baton pass they could make it look like your switching channels.

Moth Survivors - UI Elements
The final bit of assets made for Moth Surivors! Icons! A good chunk of the game would be management, so the iconography was going to be important. Besides showcasing the prototype characters, we also have icons for every powerup and pickup in the game, health, xp, money, etc.

Love the room that wi chills in too, I was heavily inspired by Bliss, y’know like THE Windows XP wallpaper, the iconic background for so many PCs. Stg PC wallpapers are so generic nowadays, it’s like random strings of light and abstract shapes, like don’t get me wrong I love abstraction but this is like, boring abstraction if that makes sense? 🪄 Day 2 / 7 of Developing Steam Demo from Game Jam Game
The features I want to finish by day 7 are:
Skill making system (from randomly found components in the dungeons)
Random passive ability pickups (+ various stat upgrades like HP or Shark Teeth UP)
Basic overworld traversal system
Was busy today, but got some progress on a skill-making menu. I like magic circles, so there's gonna be magic circles.
