Someone has been accidentally advertising my game on TikTok

So a couple of weeks ago, I started receiving a random spike in views/plays for my game, The Family Tree.

This was strange because I hadn't talked about my game since I had made it in January. I only knew to check the analytics, because I had started receiving multiple comments.

So I went to go check where people were finding my game. I thought maybe a small YouTuber had played it. But actually, the analytics showed that people were finding my game through itch.io itself.

But they were searching for "My Family Tree", not "The Family Tree"

So I searched for "My Family Tree" and this game pops up:

Fortunately the creator has their LinkTree on their itch.io page, so I find their TikTok, and turns out, they recently posted a video about their game!

Now, I'm not sure if people are searching for their game and clicking mine by accident, or if they just want to play a similar game, but either way, every time this person posts a TikTok, I get a spike in plays/viewers!

I had another massive spike today:

And sure enough, there's another TikTok!

Anyway, it's been very cool having my game reach a lot of people. I've gotten such nice comments, and it's been very fun giving hints to people and helping them solve the game =)
