The funniest thing in the world to me is when people write mermaids that are bothered by humans eating fish. Like do you think fish don’t eat each other? The ocean is full of little freaks that will eat whatever or whoever the fuck will fit in their mouths. If the mermaids haven’t been eating fish this whole time what do you think they’ve been eating? If the answer is humans, that doesn’t make it any less funny. They’ll eat the species that looks like the top half of them but won’t eat a species that looks like the bottom half? Peak comedy.

Injustice Damien Wayne romantic concept, please???
Sure! I hope I got his lore correct :)
Yandere! Injustice! Damian Wayne Concept
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Overprotective behavior, Stalking, Manipulation, Violence, Murder, Delusional thought process, Kidnapping, Blood, Jealousy implied, Gaslighting, Forced Relationship, Damian is hypocritical, Possible OOC Damian.
Tumblr media
Damian in the Injustice timeline has potential to be a dangerous yandere.
He's been raised by assassins and actually killed Nightwing (not intentionally from what I read but it still happened-).
He left Batman, his father, to work for Superman's regime.
Damian does want to fight for a safer world even if people have to die.
He isn't a sadistic yandere, like many who side with the Regime he wants the world to be a better place.
He's a yandere who would think what he's doing is the best for his darling.
He's a bit delusional but his heart is somewhat in the right place.
Damian would want his darling to trust him and the Regime.
He wants you to believe him that this is the right way to keep you safe.
The Regime gets rid of threats permanently... think about it!
You'll be safe if you just join him.
Damian could've met you in many ways.
You could be a civilian he saved with Batman at one time who he befriended...
You could also work beside Batman like him...
You're a standalone vigilante...
The possibilities are endless.
Compared to his other Robin counterparts, Injustice! Damian is darker due to being able to kill.
The Code of Honor Batman follows is not fit for criminals in his mind.
This Damian doesn't mind murder if it's beneficial.
Damian is willing to delve into darker territories than most in this universe.
He sees everything he does for you as helping you and him.
Stalking is simply monitoring in his eyes.
It's all necessary to follow you from the shadows and rooftops.
Criminals prey on people like you, he's seen it.
Yet before they can even touch you... Damian will remove them.
I'm pretty sure this Damian would outright murder those who could hurt you rather than just incapacitate them.
He prefers to just get the job done, not leave it unfinished.
Murder coating his blade and outfit is something he's used to by now.
For the greater good.
Most of his yandere behavior is done out of sight unless he is making a point.
He carefully notes down who has the potential to hurt you and who he feels is getting a little too close.
Then he deals with them accordingly.
He feels murder is protecting you in his eyes.
You'll only ever see him covered in blood if he's stopping someone from hurting you in the act or you catch him.
He doesn't think you have to see him deal with these... vermin.
He would rather you see him in a better light.
Damian likes to meet you in person when he actually takes the time to make himself look appealing.
He holds romantic feelings for you regardless on how you feel about him and his beliefs.
He only wants you to see him as your hero.
Killing to protect the people is a necessary evil to him.
You should know he'd do anything to defend you, even if it means getting dirty.
Damian would eventually force his darling to support the Regime the more his feelings grow.
You'll be hesitant, he knows, yet he'll explain their message and intentions.
It's mostly all delusions but he is determined to keep you under Regime control.
That way he knows you're protected.
You can try to fight him... Damian knows how to incapacitate from Batman, however.
He'll never try to hurt you too much.
Just enough to make you compliant so he can keep you safe.
He's trying to help!
Damian can be charming, flirting with you and showing obvious interest in you when he talks to you.
He'd be stoic with jealousy.
Those who get too close to you are not safe though.
He may not kill them right off, he'd frame them and make them seem like a criminal to the Regime.
He'd plan it out, maybe even make you think they were planning to harm you, then get rid of them.
Damian is a hypocrite, like a lot of those on the Regime.
He makes you think you're unsafe to protect you.
He kills for you to protect you, yet many of the criminals he gets rid of did the same.
Damian doesn't care if you bring up such facts.
He just tells you he knows what he's doing, the Regime knows what they're doing...
He'll worry about what's going on for you.
Damian would kidnap you.
It's another case of "it'll protect you, I promise."
If he keeps you in a secure spot under Regime surveillance, it'll prevent him from worrying about you.
Part of him may feel what he's doing is wrong.
He quickly silences those thoughts, distracting himself with loving you.
Speaking of which, you most likely hate his guts for everything he's done.
The murders, kidnapping you, his delusions...
You wish he never listened to Superman.
Damian just tells you that you don't know what you want, or you don't know what you're talking about.
He'll gaslight you, making you rethink your own beliefs.
He'll try his best to give you physical affection and will tell you how much he loves you despite what he's done.
It's frustrating to him that you're fighting him for protecting you, yet he'll be patient.
Soon, you'll come around and accept he's right.
Sometimes this world requires necessary evil.
Damian thinks you just need to understand that.
Don't worry, no matter what happens he'll always love you...
Even if he has to use kidnapping and murder, just like the criminals he claims he hates.

I need to call the expert in! I am teaching an undergraduate Global Studies course (seminar style) that will include forms of soft power from around the world. For LGBTQA+ rights, I was thinking about using Thailand's BL industry as an example and pair readings with a required series to watch. Which series available on a free platform like YouTube might be a good starter show for a younger audience that likely has no frame of reference for the genre? Eclipse feels too overtly political, but I could easily be overthinking it....tropes are welcome, I want to focus on quietly emphasizing rights and queer identity and a nod to Thailand's beaches/travel industry is always okay.
Tumblr media
Undergrad huh?
Which Thai BL series (on YT) might be a good starter for undergrads with no frame of reference for BL?
Tropes welcome.
Emphasizes rights & queerness.
Includes Thai tourist industry
2 BLs That Satisfies this Criteria
Lovely Writer - the first bigger BL to outright challenge the BL industry while still leaning into all the BLness of it, lots of conversation to be had with this one but simple to understand, sound effects issues tho, because it's still sweet and very much OF the genre, it's my top pick. (If they like it point them at A Tale of Thousand Stars next.)
Bad Buddy - Romeo & Romeo is an easy to understand premise and it's a lot of GMMTV correcting for its mistakes, great production values, fantastic acting but subtle on the queer rep aspect, has beaches. (If they like it point them at The Eclipse next.)
Other's I considered and rejected (and I explain why)
Until We Meet Again - too many triggers, blushing maiden
He's Coming to Me - not popular enough to rep for the genre
Oxygen - not queer or popular enough
A Tale of Thousand Stars - not enough on rights/queerness, it's there but VERY subtle
Not Me - more about politics
My School President - too YA for university level course
Moonlight Chicken - this one is low on tropes but high on everything else, it's not fluffy or campy and is very different for BL, so not quite representative of the genre as a whole, and no nods to the tourist industry, bit high heat for school
The Eclipse - too overtly political, bit confusing on plot and setting unless you are familiar with the Asian version of the boarding school trope
Star in My Mind Star and Sky - not good enough on queer rep
Wow, this was much harder than I thought it would be!!

Can we get a small look into an au where reader actually makes a deal with Baron and how and if their life would be any different than the normal universe. Would Baron be more possessive, would he be able to read reader's mind or control them etc. ?
Tw: brieft mention of drugging
Things would definitely be.. different.
I don't think Baron would change much personally wise on the surface, but there is a literal bond between you that makes his presence a permanent factor in your life and brings out the devil in him more. Might up the possessiveness a bit for reasons I'll explain now.
By giving him your blood and your first order, the contract is sealed. You will be required to consume a dot of his blood to solidify the connection, but this may have negative results as well due to his father being the blood devil.
There are different levels of this class, but due to who his parents are, Baron is pretty higher up in ranking. I say this to bring up the next point that those at his level can actually deny orders given by their owner unless it's brought on by strong emotion, and even command you to a certain degree. He would feel terrible about doing so, but he'll do what he must to make you his.
As the name contract demon goes, he can change the rules of your agreement however he pleases. For example, instead of your soul, all he wants is to put a ring on your finger. You'll still be damned to hell after death, but you can roll on in with your loving spouse at your side.
While they can't outright give wealth unless they steal it, Contract demons are able to boost their owner's luck and fortune in various fields to where its like money falls from the sky. This might bring some eyes your way which will probably make Baron jealous. Their whole goal is to give a human whatever they desire so its best that they know when you're happy or sad - or when you're lying. It's not quite mind-reading, but he would be able to detect lies and half truths to the point you'd almost think he could actually read your mind.
Due to your connection through the contract, whatever damage is inflected on you is inflected on him and vice versa. He would never hurt you, but this doesn't just with pain. Say for example, if Baron took some sleeping medication, he may feel like a tad drowsy, but suddenly you're out cold. How odd- Oh well, nap time! Guess that little date with your colleague will have to be rescheduled, to never. This bond also further proves his point that you are his mate as he mentions its one of the strongest bonds with a mortal he's ever had. He bets you can feel it, can't you? How hard his hearts beat against his chest when he's around you. The rage he feels when others look at you like that. It's better to stay home with him, right? Where he can protect you. Always.
How I see it, you'll be living the life of your dreams with everything you desire just a word away, but they'll be no one to share it with - besides your dear demon husband

Hello Tumblr.
This post is aimed specifically at the Hazbin Hotel fandom, but also applies in any other related cases.
Aromanticism and asexuality are a spectrum, and, as an aromatic asexual person on said spectrum, I’m tired of that being ignored.
I understand that aroace representation is scarce, and it can be frustrating when an aromatic asexual character is shipped constantly, but I implore the the sex and/or romance repulsed aromantic asexuals to remember that the identities of non-sex/romance repulsed aroaces are just as valid as your own.
Aromantic asexuals can have relationships. In addition to myself, I have seen many frustrated aroaces talk about how there is an expectation that they cannot date. This idea is harmful, and by perpetuating this idea you are doing just as much damage as someone who ignores an aroace character’s identity outright. Please, consider your fellow aroaces when you speak about shipping.
In addition to this, I want to add that no one is forcing you to consume ship content. If you don’t like a ship, it is best not to interact with it. If you’re worried about seeing it, most platforms have the ability to block or ignore certain tags. Many of you do not seem familiar with the “don’t like? Don’t read” concept, so allow me to explain it. People have a right to enjoy fictional content as they please. It is not your place to tell them what they can and cannot enjoy. You are not the center of the universe, so not all content will be curated to your liking. If you don’t like something, then ignore it. This is a very simple concept.
It has never been a crime to represent fictional character in an inaccurate way, and it never will be. Unless someone ships something harmful that normalizes highly criminal and immoral behavior, it is simply not your business.

Ok so, I ask a lot about our favorite boi (Centi... my Beloved...) however I was wondering if you have any interesting thoughts about other characters in the castle (Which, assuming is similar to canon and is only Sunvent).
As a result I have three big questions! One, which is based on almost every universe having eclipse drinking massive amounts of tea, does he like tea/ can eat? Two, does he interact with the world's inhabitants outside of when eclipse does, and does he enjoy it when he does (even if eclipse is there?)
finally three, since in most AU it is explained that the reason eclipse isn't rotting from the star power is because he is using something else as a conduit (a servant, since every surviving lord has a servant). does eclipse use sun as a conduit system, and how do you head canon that effects him?
if these are completely irrelevant its totally fine if you can only answer one or two (or if you just feel like answering a bit of this, I'm just happy to brain rot in the Centi box)
Anyway here is this as ask box rent
Tumblr media
DEAR BELOVED MUTUAL JUSTAFUNKYDUDE DID U KNOW U R MY LIFEBLOOD. I ADORE ALL UR WORLDBUILDING QUESTIONS IT FILLS ME WITH AN ENDLESS JOY
1) I think technically Lord Eclipse could eat/drink (nanobots and/or star power stuff) but I think he simply chooses not to unless it's for dramatic effect, yk? (hence the lack of mouth) Like, I drew him with a wine glass one time, but it was definitely just for dramatic effect and to seem like he's "casual" in the situation rather than to actually enjoy it LOL
2) I'm assuming you mean Sunvant here and in that case: yes, he does actually interact with the other followers a good bit and yes, I'd say he usually enjoys it(and probably especially with Lord Eclipse there)! Or, like, during the earlier years at least. Since Sun was basically Lord Eclipse's right-hand, he was regarded with as much respect as Eclipse himself! His very presence was like a morale boost LOL
But, I think that as Lord Eclipse started to become less and less sociable, Sun started to be recognized less as "the saint" and more "the favorite" which led to colder or outright cruel treatment from some. He still goes out and interacts with other people, but a good outing is no longer defined by how many people he helps and instead by how many people don't outright taunt him </3
3) OH YESYES I'VE HEARD OF THAT IDEA !!! Anima Sola was my first introduction to the concept and it is so cool to me LMAO 🙏 I don't think Sunvant is used as a conduit in this world tho?? Maybe. I dunno that might be subject to change now actually LOL
I feel like if Centiclipse did use Sun in such a way, there wouldn't be too too much change?? or. well. mmm??? Not too much change in the dynamic, but maybe a bit of change in what is focused on, if that makes any sense.
Lord Eclipse telling Sun that if he wants to stay his servant and hold onto such a power, then he needs to act like it(not that he would ever get rid of Sun, he needs him too much). Sun being horrified at his own fantasies of finding a way to rip out the connection between him and Eclipse. OOO maybe certain dissenters would try to kill Sun in hopes of taking down Eclipse.....
I dunno, I'll definitely say it's fun to entertain!! It's almost a dlc sorta idea! It just adds on to what was already there and makes it a little more angsty LOL

FINAL FNAF MOVIE PREDICTIONS
I have not looked at anything more spoilery then the YouTuber vlogs of the set, I'd like to stay blind to spoilers, so if I say a prediction that has been proven true or false by those types of things, please don't tell me.
first order of business is showing my FNAF movie bingo card that I made even before the first trailer dropped
Tumblr media
Other then that here is a more specific set of predictions, based on nothing but gut feelings and a frankly upsetting amount of knowledge of the funny bear game
MIKE:
I think it's pretty obvious at this point, with the information we have that Mike in this movie is not Mike Afton and that he's not related to William at all. I wouldn't be surprised if Blumhouse pulled some gymnastics to hide that fact but it seems unlikely at this juncture. I would be willing to go as far as to say that I don't think Mike Afton , or an equivalent exists in the film universe.I do think Mike has unseen motives for staying more then one night at the haunted pizza restaurant, more then just desperately needing a job that we see with the red slip on his door, and that the motive has something to do with William.
ABBY:
While the baby parallels have been noted by many people, I don't think she will become baby in this film, it might be foreshadowed but I can't imagine that they will show something graphic like that on screen, or even imply it, if she does get baby'd it will be in-between films or off screen. the many scenes we've seen of her with the animatronics we have seen imply that she will be able to befriend them, similar to both the games and books depiction of how the haunted robots work.
VANESSA:
despite what many have been saying, I don't think Vanessa will be a twist villian, or if she is she will have a very quick turn back to the good side. We already have an unnamed female villian we have yet to see anything about, and we see Spring Bonnie choke Vanessa in the final trailer (presumably what lands her in the hospital) so unless William has a bad habit of killing his minions I think it unlikely. I think it's more likely that Vanessa was a relative of one of the missing childrens, which would explain her knowledge and interest in the hauntings and the details of the incident.
REMNANT AND AGONY:
I don't think there will be a mention of either of these strange world mechanics that power the FNAF universe, but I think it is being considered. If the FNAF movie is lucky enough to get the trilogy Scott saw it as on his Reddit post, I think all of the information on how the haunting works will be saved for FNAF 3, where William will explain his reasons for doing what he does. But I do think that there will be hints (The Freddy Face slicing Saw trap being one) Basically I think that if you look in between the lines at the movie you could figure out Remnant, but it's not going to tell you outright till 3
THE ENDING:
I don't see a version of this movie where it ends that doesn't have William Afton getting spring locked in his suit, perhaps after that getting locked in the Safe Room to be uncovered for a potential FNAF 3 movie.
however, even though William has seemingly been delt with, the spirits are not at rest (because he's not really gone)
I think FNAF 2 (if it happens) will be a prequel just like the game, and it will be more or less a retelling of the game, with a greater emphasis on the Puppet

Would you, yourself, consider Callum a good person? I don't mean by the logic of in universe, or objectively, I mean would you personally consider Callum a good person?
I don't wanna ignore such a good question, but I will also have to refrain from answering it quickly because I don't think there's a concise way to answer it without leaving people bewildered unless I discuss some of Callum's past actions and his plans for the future that never came to be. I KNOW what Callum would do if he suddenly came back and I'm worried that an answer without context would leave people thinking Callum's portrayal in-game was false, and I want to specify that, well, it wasn't. I think it's a question of perspective, so I'll talk about some other perspectives before I explain mine. There's four NPCs who talk about Callum Crown in-game. Norm + Mingus both sing his praises, present him as an inhumanly good person, a messiah. Though, they can't seem to agree about what Callum was all about, as they both didn't really know him. Gabby, in the phone store in Uptown Dialtown speaks about him briefly, though she holds her tongue, perhaps wondering if someone could be listening in. She doesn't outright say she doesn't think he was a good person, but describes Callum as someone who just walked into positions of vast power, someone who seemed built to be president, and implies she had a sense of unease coming from that. Gabby is as much of an NPC as one could be, she's an elderly store owner in an often forgotten part of an often forgotten place, and someone who personally witnessed history. She's also an astute, wise person. She doesn't feel strongly about Callum because to her, he's really just a relic, a footnote in history. The first (and presumably) last echo of her dying and forgotten town to reach the rest of the world. Gabby sees the wisdom in letting old things retire to make way for new things. Now, onto God. If you bring God up to Callum, he becomes kind of afraid and mentions that Callum played God better than HE did, but doesn't elaborate further. God's fears are well-founded. God is one of the few people aware of how the Dialup happened and it's something he doesn't like to think about. If I was God (i'm not, i swear), I'd certainly feel the same way he did. Okay, let's pretend I have no clue what Callum's full plan was, I'll look solely at his biggest achievement: The Dialup. He gave all of humanity a mandatory upgrade, but do you think it was the right thing to do, was it right for present an inarguable absolute to the whole world? Crown had very good reasons for what he did, but at a point, reasoning becomes pointless. In your heart and soul, you know deep down if you think he was justified or not and my thoughts on the Dialup (as someone who's had a few years to think about it hard) are conflicted to say the least. Whether the ends justify the means is a question I'm simply not smart enough to definitively answer. What I can say for certain, love him or loathe him: Callum Crown was, and currently is, the most dangerous living person in Dialtown's universe and until he finally kicks the bucket, that won't change. Think about what he achieved with his time on earth. Humanity is really lucky that Callum had good intentions. Imagine what Dialtown’s world would look like today if he hadn’t. If Callum Crown's memory was ever to suddenly just came back, it would be a significant event, to say the least. The world would be a different place, anyway, that's for sure.

About Sephiroth killing Tifa discussion...
I actually have a hard time wrapping my head around Sephiroth, who we assume can control of Jenova, unable to kill Tifa or Aerith directly because of The Whispers.
I mean.. normal people like Wedge made it out alive, and Biggs is seen in Elmyra’s house in the ending, along with Jessie’s glove. This might suggest that Jessie survived the blast, possibly as a side effect of Cloud&gang defeating the Whispers at the end, but we won’t know for sure until the sequel to the Remake. Not to mention we see Zack alive as well in a possibly alternate reality. Why doesn't the Whispers continue to hunt these anomalies?
Unless the Whispers are related to the planet itself or the Ancients, so they only favor changes that give advantage to the Planet? Which can also means, more enemies for poor Sephy and fate is heavily stacked againts him...
Wait, why am I siding with the villain! XD
Good catches, anon. The Whispers definitely have been slacking for sure, especially when it came to the fates of Jessie, Wedge and Biggs.
I believe this implies that their power is restricted, so they prioritize the most significant events and people to protect. These two significant events—Cloud taking Jessie's place on the bombing mission when she was injured and Barrett being brought back to life after being killed by Sephiroth — can give this theory some weight.
The Whispers would definitely give Sephy trouble for outright defying important events. Otherwise, it doesn't make much sense for Sephiroth to not immediately kill who/when he can and get the black materia right away, in my opinion. I'm sure there are other things at play, but that's my personal conclusion, with all what we know now. Sephiroth is an analytical and resolute man; I'm sure he is carefully plotting around the Whispers and striving to make sure his plans are successful in this timeline, unlike in the original game.
Now to explain Zack's survival? I don't know. You got me there. The Whispers being related to the planet is an interesting theory. Them being failsafe sentinels to ensure the planet's survival... Though; I feel they are moreso a universal presence, if that makes sense.
I'm thinking the Whispers allowed Jessie and the boys to live, maybe because they are underestimating their importance to the storyline at this point? Still, that doesn't explain the reason for allowing Zack to live, since his presence will surely cause several butterfly effects. But maybe... The Whispers are using Zack to undo the damages that have been done or will be done to the timeline? Like you said, we won't fully know until Rebirth is out. And I expect little answers, since this is the second installment of a trilogy.
To conclude: It makes sense that fate is so heavily stacked against Sephy. It's no wonder why he's trying his damndest to defy it. One of the qualities we truly admire in our Crisis Cutie is his unyielding strength of will. Probably why he would be in Gryffindor over Slytherin. His fiery determination overshadows his other virtues. That is also why I think he's such an amazing Yandere. What he'd do to take what's his~! 💜💜💜

You mentioned that fans become angry if a story doesn't go how they want, but can't admit this, so they insist the creator must have "told his own story wrong." Basically, the problem is that the fans' worldview is not "falsifiable". For a claim to be falsifiable, there must be a "failure condition" that would potentially prove the claim wrong (if I claim the capital of Australia is Sydney, and you look it up and it's Canberra, that "falsifies" the claim). But fans have no "failure conditions".
The issue here is that what many entitled fans view as facts are actually just their opinions. An opinion is how we experience something, but our experiences are not universal, not everyone experiences the same thing the same way. For example, you might find the taste of broccoli awful, but that doesn’t make “broccoli tastes bad” a law of nature and an undisputed fact. I’ve said it often on this blog that entitled fans treat their opinions as facts.
The difficulty of grasping the difference between opinion and fact comes from the reality that the internal process that creates your opinions is real. You can test that you really hate broccoli by tasting it repeatedly, with the same results; it can’t be “falsified”, as you put it. Broccoli tasting bad to you is your reality, so the idea that others experience broccoli differently can be difficult to grasp. The entitlement comes from when this difficulty in understanding becomes willful ignorance, where people can tell you their opinions straight out and you shut them down by claiming they are wrong. Entitlement is thinking that your experience is more enlightened than everybody else’s based on nothing other than that it is your experience: “The writers wrote the show wrong, because I would have preferred it to go another way.”
The point where things get dicey, however, is when we start attributing malice behind dissenting opinions. It’s one thing to say that people with different opinions from your own can act obnoxious about it, but a wholly another to claim that they hold those opinions out of some malicious intent, or that they’re outright lying about their opinions just to hide some personal agenda. This is where we get the claims like: “Astruc had a bully in school called Chloé and that’s why he hates Chloé the character,” because this kind of thinking can cause people to jump to ideas like: “Even the writers knew the story would have been better the other way around, but wrote something different because *insert conspiracy theory*.”
Even so, even if someone has a specific reason behind an opinion (like: “I hate the taste of broccoli because I was forced to eat it when I was small”), that just makes the reason part of the process for creating that opinion. Trying to explain someone else’s opinions away this way doesn’t really accomplish anything, mostly because we can’t really know what someone’s internal process is unless they entrust us with a lot of very personal information, and also because that just means that, because your opinions are most likely also caused by your past experiences, your opinions are equally invalid. You can claim your opinion is objective all you want, but you can't actually prove that because we are fully capable of forgetting events that shape even our strongest opinions.
Opinions might have no failure conditions, but they don't really have win conditions, either.

Compassion: 5/10 [Baseline, Terrah is not trying to make the world a worse place, so day-to-day, her compassion is on bar with most people. Now, when her compassion/empathy is earned, it's so natural for her to show her warmth even if she doesn't believe she's showing it. That'd typically boost it up to 9/10]
Bitterness: 7/10 [I'm not gonna front, this woman sits and seethes on her anger of losing out of her 20s due to a dead-end marriage. In general, she sits in her frustration and lets it bubble up. It's not healthy, but she makes do.]
Happiness: 5/10 [Terrah's fine. Not incredibly satisfied, but not dissatisfied. She's more content than she used to be, but it's not like... spectacular either.]
Politeness: 7/10 [Now, this can flip flop depending, but for the most part, Terrah's dialog when she meets people typically leans more polite than not. However, she's not afraid to call out something that doesn't make sense to her, and since she can be a bit of a straight shooter and can be downright rude as hell, this can dip down to a 4/10 pretty fast.]
Chivalry: 5/10 [She's a woman of her promises and acts with fairness in mind. However, if morals get in the way of her work, she may bend a bit.]
Pride: 8/10 [HAH, Terrah's secret vice; it's why her emotions are just a clusterfuck. She thinks EVERYTHING can be explained away with logic, and sometimes that mindset makes her too stubborn in her own ideals. Pride drops when she gets to know someone, but ego is probably one of her lowkey faults.]
Honesty: 10/10 [That's one thing about Terrah; she will never bullshit you unless it's by omission, and even then, homegirl isn't that great of a liar.]
Bravery: 5/10 [Again, this is not out of true intent to be brave, she's just brutally honest & bullheaded that she just speaks what on her mind than covers it up; she rather go with the flow than cause a ruckus (or so she claims)]
Recklessness: 2/10 [I've never met a woman so risk adverse in my life; like if it does not have a specific plan or calculation attached to it, and she hasn't processed the decision within 3-5 business days, it's not happening. Though, her best interactions/work happen when she does throw caution to the wind.]
Ambition: 5/10 [She aspires for a life beyond roles and titles, but she doesn't know where else to go after that. She just wants to keep her projects going and growing, no matter the cost. But I wouldn't align that to her being "ambitious"]
Loyalty: 8/10 [If someone has earned Terrah's trust, it's locked in until the end of time or until a betrayal occurs. She doesn't trust easily in the first place, so to earn her loyalty is to earn a gold standard]
Love: 8/10 [Homegirl wishes she could be a robot so badly, but her heart is filled with that desire for love. So squishy]
Sense of family: 5/10 [If it's a found family? Terrah's all in on it. Being a mother/wife with a traditional family? That's... a bit of a touchy subject. Terrah loves her daughter, but is very outright about how she doesn't love being a mother. Ironic how she's always designated to be a team mom/older sister figure to everyone around her. This flip flops depending on those around her. It leans a bit higher the closer connected she is to others/how deeply she loves them]
Attractiveness: 10/10 [She's hot? What else do I need to talk about??? She's RIGHT THERE]
Agility: 5/10 [Let's be real: she's a fucking nerd, she's built for the office not the battlefield. If it is in more combat focused universes, however, she's a great sharpshooter because of her patience.]
Sex drive: 8/10 [Unyielding horny energy if you're her partner, she's more physically affectionate if you're with her too so it's just a combination of elements ok.,,.]

Yesterday I did something groundbreaking for the state of Arkansas and for queer and trans folks that live here!!!
I was hired for contract work at UAMS, our single medical university in the entire state, for patient simulation. At first I assumed it was gonna be the usual patient sims, like I'd act as someone with a specific injury or illness etc etc
But about a month after I was hired, a group zoom meeting was scheduled so the project manager could introduce everyone involved, including the others hired with me. And it was revealed that this patient simulation was different, actually it was completely new.
We were given the honor of being the first queer and/or trans people to participate in the first LGBTQIA+ focused patient simulation in Arkansan history
It's a known thing for queers to experience discrimination in hospitals; from being barred from visiting your partner, to being misgendered, and to receiving outright abuse from those who are supposed to help you. Lots of queers and trans folk have a chronic avoidance of doctors even today (especially today)
One of the project leaders, a gay recent med school graduate, had moved to New York, where he was helping build a queer-centered clinic. He'd talked about there were a few states taking these steps already, but UAMS had absolutely zero education regarding queer people.
So what part did I play?
My "role" was Taylor Nichols, a trans man looking for a primary care provider. I was to be seen by two students, who had to get my sexual history and learn how to approach a queer patient.
One student grasped it pretty easily and was charismatic enough to join me when I joked about whatever. She kinda led the charge in asking me questions about my sex life, despite any discomfort.
The other student looked so nervous/uncomfortable that she almost seemed ill. I'm giving her the benefit of doubt here mostly, but her expression gave me the sense that either she'd never encountered a trans person before (at least an OPENLY trans person) or she had something resembling a conservatives views of gender. I refuse to assume "bigot" but I tried making eye contact with her a couple times and she looked away each time with a frown.
After the simulation, we all adjourned to debrief with the other groups and the project leaders to discuss how it went and what to improve on. Here is where I felt something truly important happening. I sat up front with my coworkers (an older black gay man that I'll call Joe and a gender fluid high-schooler named Bee with their mom) and helped praise the students for their accomplishments
Joe also went on a longer speech to explain to the students about respecting your fellow humans and how even one disrespectful doctor can ruin someone's experience with medical care. I hadn't thought that we could talk about that kind of stuff, but these were all straight cisgender students and it was a teaching opportunity.
So I added on a few things. I told them to focus less on being inoffensive, though we appreciated that a lot, and focus more on the fact that queer/trans people are actually afraid of doctors. I told them there were no offensive questions they could ask me, unless they were intentionally being disrespectful.
I also said, "If you ask me questions about my gender/sexuality with the understanding that you do not understand and want to know more, it tells me two things.
"One: the moment you ask the question with a genuine interest in learning, you immediately become someone safe to talk to. Most queer people I know can tell the difference, just from tone and body language, between an asshole and someone who simply doesn't understand. And an asshole typically doesn't want to know what my pronouns are.
"Two: the questions you ask tell me how much you already know and how far I can meet you in the middle. It opens up a discussion that I am constantly afraid of starting with new people. You've likely already met many trans people in your life, but never knew because that discussion is considered taboo.
"So please, ask us questions. We come to clinics assuming the worst case scenario of a bigoted doctor, and I tend to pretend to be a girl just to get the visit over with. But every time a doctor asks my pronouns, I am so much more likely to come back."
It's still processing that I actually helped educate medical students, and I was the first nonbinary person to participate in a queer-centered patient simulation to get the ball rolling for further queer education in medical studies in our entire fucking state
Take that you fucking legislators! Queer people are LOVED in this state and you can't take that from us. And now, despite everything, even the medical students will have a much more diverse education and go on to be compassionate nurses and doctors to folks of any gender or sexuality.

I may be projecting my disappointment at ML onto you and/or may have missed it, but is there a reason Gabe doesn't just akumatize Natalie into someone who could heal Emilie or become a Miraculous bloodhound? I mean beyond the fact that he's a smooth-brained moron.
I think that's a fair criticism to have! The show does it to keep the status quo intact, and I'm more interested in telling Chloé's story than Hawk Moth's pursuit of the big two jewels (not to say I'm uninterested, of course, but To Rule Alone is Chloé's story first and foremost), but I would agree that I could be doing a better job of explaining just how is it that Gabe hasn't been more successful. Since the next chapter will probably come next year, I'll try to explain without spoiling too much!
There's a few factors to consider here, mostly centered around the innate protection that the Miraculous - and more so the Kwamis - give to their Holders. It's been mentioned in the story already that (in this universe, of course) Hawk Moth can't directly take the Miraculous from LB and CN by force - I can't give you specifics, but it would harm him beyond his transformation's ability to protect him, perhaps not quite killing him outright, but certainly spelling doom for him in more ways than simply his physical wellbeing, hence his use of Akumas to act as proxies and potentially take the brunt of the damage for him.
There's also the natural obfuscation magic that protects Miraculous Holders - Kwamis can't reveal the identity of their Holders to other people, the transformation (regardless of the actual design of the headgear) makes it so that a Holder can't be identified by their voice or appearance, and it even provides some protection against magical tracking. For instance, if the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculouses were active, but Hawk Moth didn't know where they were, he'd be able to use certain spells to track them down, but wouldn't be able to narrow down their location beyond knowing their general area. He'd be able to know they're in Paris, but not where in Paris, for example.
You also need to keep in mind that, at least on paper, any one Akuma has the potential to be "the one"; obviously, some villains are stronger or more versatile than others, but the point of Hawk Moth's attacks is to probe LB and CN's defenses, trying to find their weak point - they have the most powerful Miraculouses in their possession, so trying to take them down without thoroughly studying their capabilities would be a fool's errand. On top of that, Akumas are limited by the source of their negative emotions (which mostly shapes their form and abilities) and how much of his own power Hawk Moth is willing to lend the Akumatized villain - the more powerful the Akuma, the more vulnerable he becomes, and though he's safely nestled in his hidey hole for now, giving too much power to what's essentially a servant could definitely backfire on him.
I think Gabe's issue isn't that he's a moron - though he might not be as much of a mastermind as he hypes himself up to be - but that he's not flexible enough to adapt and evolve his plans. Right now, he's playing by the rules - using the Akumas as proxies, keeping himself safe unless he absolutely needs to step out, relying on his minions to eventually overpower LB instead of trying to outsmart her. He thinks this should be relatively easy, and it's becoming increasingly obvious that it's not. Whether or not he'll be able to realize his mistakes and up his game, we'll just have to see.

Writing Lesson V:
Nessesary & Sensible Worldbuilding
The core of nessesary worldbuilding in a story's universe kinda follows the same rules as citing evidence in an essay. You don't have to have a source for common knowledge just like you don't have to tell your audience outright that the sky is blue, unless the sky is normally green.
Until stated otherwise, an audience will assume that this story's universe works roughly the same as our universe.
Nessesary Worldbuilding falls into roughly two categories: Logic worldbuilding and Atmospheric worldbuilding.
The first is comprised of every piece of information nessesary to make a story make sense. This includes everything from the rules of a hard magic system to the cultural ideas that influence your characters to make interesting choices and clash against other characters. This information should be presented before it is fully implemented into any important plotpoint because it is the bones of a story. It is way cooler to see characters using the pre-established rules of their world to their advantage then to have it explained after the fact.
The second focuses on details that make a world seem bigger than it actually is, as well as details that make that world make sense. These details set the tone of the world and flesh it out. They include most fantastical or logical elements that do not factor into the plot... for now.
That's right. These categories are not mutually exclusive. Foreshadowing can be as simple as logic worldbuilding disgised as atmospheric worldbuilding.
But how much atmospheric worldbuilding is too much?
Ask yourself this: does the inclusion of this piece of information unintentionally distract the reader for the story in its entirety?
If so, then that detail can be left out or woven into the plot as the final detail to a character motivation or plan.
At the end of the day, most worlds exist to tell a story as much as stories exist to explore a world. If I had a penny for how many times I've changed my story to incorporate a fun worldbuilding ideas I've had, I would be rich.

As the daughter of a history major…
… Where the hell are so many americans on tumblr going to school???
I just saw a post about how ‘it’s taught in america that the pilgrims were Good and fleeing religious intolerance but they were actually Bad’ which first off, you cannot make those distinctions bc freaking everyone was up to kill anyone who didn’t agree in those days, but also… People claiming to be american claiming that they were definitely taught exactly that??
Maybe… If you never took a history class past elementary school, I guess. Or maybe you were in Florida (oh, gods, get my mother started on people killing each other in Florida).
Bc, resident American here, albeit one in Massachusetts, and… No. We’re not taught that. You get a romanticised version in early grades maybe, but the higher you go, you get taught that the most Puritans had different religious beliefs than the standard in England, so they took the opportunity to ship off to the colonies. There’s no victimisation, it’s just straight facts. And that usually, that was the category of people shipped off to the colonies—criminals, religious differences, poor people… Like no one in their right mind wanted to go off into the ‘wilderness.’ They did it bc they hated being where they were, and England was all too happy to get rid of them. Hell, they were also completely unprepared and many of them died on the way over. Like that shot went super bad for so many reasons.
I’m not going to claim I remember every detail I was taught, and I had a bit of a deeper knowledge bc my mother is, again, a history major w/ an interest in American history bc it is whacky), and I do remember the ‘founding’ being a little simplified, but I also distinctly remember going into higher grades and having teachers outright explain ‘what you were told as kids was a very simplified version, let’s talk about it in more detail.’ We weren’t taught that there were ‘good’ or ‘bad’ guys, we were taught that these people had a difference in belief and that for that reason, they ended up shipped off to the colonies. We talked about the conflicts, the damage, the ugly bits.
I think people claiming to have been taught a sanitised version either didn’t take many history classes, didn’t pay attention, or don’t remember much of what they were taught (which no judgement here, I barely remember). Or maybe they’re just trying to sound Cool on the internet? I can’t know. But I remain baffled by certain myths about the us that alleged Americans come out of the woodwork to claim are true when… Your experiences are not universal???
Like I’m happy to criticise the education system, bc excuse me while I cry about not being able to hold a conversation in Spanish, but like. Unless you were in a very particular environment (I went to public school, btw)… No, you weren’t taught that shit. There’s parts missing, sure, but they did not, at least not beyond elementary, try to claim the ‘Pilgrims’ were blameless. I remember being taught that life was harsh and short, and people bitter and stubborn. I don’t doubt that the words ‘fleeing religious intolerance’ might’ve been used, bc technically, yes, they were. But I am also intolerant of trolls, and mosquitos. That’s a statement, it has no bearing on what kind of people either group was.
#Firebird Randomness#I find it fascinating how this site veers between shitting on England and holding it up and some noble paragon#like I'm sorry you wanna shit on the Puritans like go ahead but don't make out like they were any worse than any other religious sect#esp in England at that time#or hell Europe you wanna talk about the Spanish conquests of the Americas??#but I literally just had an exCUSE me??? reaction to that post#like our education system is BAD I wish I could speak another language properly for one#terrible at dealing w/ learning disabilities#and maybe some stuff requires a little effort#but DEF by high school my history teachers made no secret about the effects of colonisation#or the extremism of the puritan beliefs#this is one of those prove you've never been to the us w/out saying it moments#like obvi history is taught differently#per a British friend the US actually disappears from English teaching after the Puritans leave until the revolution#additionally we also get taught that many of them still considered themselves British#like they weren't 'trying to find a new world' they just hated everyone else as much as everyone hated them#but many of them still thought they were 'British' that didn't change until later#but serious geebus people here will just take anything at face value#history is bloody and colonisation and conquest may have most famously started in Europe#but that also means that you can't wash your hands of it and say 'it was them they were bad'#like I'm digressing here I'm just so baffled

Dame Violette, Part One
This may look familiar! The old versions of this story will be taken down soon. I feel comfortable enough now to restart it, especially in light of that Season 5 finale.
-
Hi, my name is Marinette! I'm just a normal girl who lives with her two baker parents in Paris. There's nothing special about me, nope, nosiree.
...Unless you count the weird psychic visions I get. I mean that has to be normal, right?
They're like “mental shocks”. To be honest I'm not really sure why they happen or how they come to me, or even if I'm the only one who gets them. Maybe others do as well and no one wants to share it with the world? But that seems unlikely. The shocks seem to be steering me in life, hopefully away from bad things though I never know for sure. Like a shock I got when considering fashion as a career choice, which led to some weird visions of a blonde-haired woman yelling about how something wasn't exceptional and about a man who looked old and stern, how the world of fashion seemed very competitive and not easy to get to the top of, at least not without losing parts of yourself along the way. Because of that I figured maybe engineering would be better for me, I seem to have a knack for designing neat things, like diaries with unique locks. I still make clothes occasionally! But they're more for myself or my close friends.
Another shock came when the first class representative elections came up. I thought about running, but memories of a girl who seemed to be overrun with responsibilities for her classmates filled my mind, along with a figure who took advantage who looked very, very similar to Madame Bustier, my homeroom teacher. Because of that it led me to always sit at the back of the class rather than anywhere near the front, not wanting to be noticed. Someone else can take that particular burden. There are only two other people who knows about me having such thoughts...having met them both through shocks, I figured they'd understand it if I explained the whole thing outright. Considering how well read one of them is I had hoped maybe she could have had a rational explanation but she just laughed and said it was probably some kind of “gut magic”. The other simply said it was “Awesome”. I might have been offended but they both wholeheartedly believed me. I don't know why a person believing in me feels so...important, but it does. Like I know my parents do but having someone else besides them is great. I have just this small group of two best friends, and that's more than enough for me. Having too many would be spreading myself thin and my downtime is important; I hate being run off my feet. Plus quality is better over quantity, and both of these girls are quality without a doubt. We might as well be sisters now for how entangled our lives have become.
- In a schoolyard, a five-year old Marinette looks around anxiously. It's a brand-new school to her, what with the move her mama and papa had done to a new and larger bakery, and she had to leave behind the friends she made in the previous year. Her papa however had done what he always did, and set her up with a box of macarons for her first day. “Just be yourself, offer one to a classmate. You're going to be fine, my sweet.” But there was a sinking feeling in her stomach. Marinette was expecting something to come her way, something horrible. Something brash. But little did she know, that on the other side of Paris, a decision was made to send a blonde girl of similar age to a private school, along with a boy of a prominent fashion mogul. It was over the objections of her father, a councilman who was hoping to rise to the position of mayor. “It's out of the question, Andre!”, shouted the mother. “She needs to learn what it takes with the right kind of teachers! Besides, this might seal the deal between ourselves and the Agrestes for marriage!” So, one fate was avoided. It was at this point Marinette felt the mental shock. A view into another universe, one were the blonde terror came to the school and immediately started to berate her as low-class, that her macarons were tasteless, and screaming for a young bespectacled red-haired girl to follow her during recess. It was said girl that Marinette saw near the entrance of the school, looking just as lost. The vision of the other universe fresh in her head, she walked over and opened up the box her father had provided. “Hi, my name is Marinette! Would you like a macaron?” The girl seemed to hesitate for a moment, almost as if she was questioning Marinette's motives and if this was, in fact, real. But then she looked down into the box, back towards her, and smiled. “I'm...Sabrina. It's nice to meet you! Um, do you have any strawberry ones?”
- We were inseparable from that day forward, best friends forevermore. Where would I be without Sabrina? Probably some stuttering mess. We each seemed to calm different parts of ourselves; her stopping my anxious “spirals” before they even start, and me encouraging her to stand up for herself. There's a strong mutual respect and understanding between us both; she's smart in the areas I'm not, and in turn I make up where she may falter. While I'm thankful for a lot of the “shocks” and their guidance, that one in particular has a special place in my heart as it gave two souls support and friendship. And two we were, until five years later a shock gave us our “missing” sister. -
Friendship Day. An annual scavenger hunt across all of Paris. Usually Sabrina and I don't participate, but a shock a few days ago convinced me to have us both take part this year. The celebrity we were supposed to try and find was Jagged Stone, and that's kind of cool, but at the same time we couldn't work together to try and do it. The rules of the day meant that a new “friend” would be assigned to us at random.
Which is a shame, because Sabrina and I probably could have made short work this whole thing.
My phone buzzed with the first clue, “With one turn of a handle, I can raise the level.” That was easy enough, the Canal Saint-Martin. That wasn't even very far away, maybe a few blocks. I thought back to what was shown to me in the shock while walking towards the canal lock. It was of a girl with black and purple hair and a boy with teal hair. Both of them had their backs turned, so I had no idea what they looked like, but...
...it seemed I was going to meet one of them today. The girl on the bridge looked almost the same as the one in my vision, though shorter somehow? But the hair was a dead giveaway, along with the fact that her clothing also seemed similar.
And that she had her back to me. I guess the best approach would be direct?
“Um, hello!”
That seemed to startle her more than anything, though she slowly turned around. Her face was covered by her hair, and her expression was one of fear. But we briefly locked eyes, and something in her seemed to calm right away. Enough for her to haltingly mumble something out. I barely caught it.
“Hello. I'm Juleka.”
-
In the end, it turned out she was more scared about searching for Jagged Stone than meeting me; apparently her mother had something against him and she didn't really want Juleka to take part, but was free to do so anyways. Though we kept following the clues, we both eventually gave up the hunt and started to talk more about our lives. It turned out we had a few similar interests, and by the end of the day when we met up with Sabrina I had grown used to Juleka's unique way of speaking French.
It took Sabrina more time to get there, though.
-
“I couldn't believe it Nettie, all she kept going on about was how “utterly ridiculous” I was! Everything from what I was wearing to if I couldn't get one of the clues right on the first try! I guess I drew the short straw on this whole thing.”
“It's alright Brina, you don't ever have to see her again at least.” I said, putting a supportive arm around her at the same time.
“I hope not. You know how I feel about bullies. But...” She turned her attention to the raven-haired girl sitting on the other side of me. “At least it looks like things were brighter on your end?”
“They were for sure! Juleka, this is Sabrina!”
Juleka's eyes darted up and down Sabrina, as if looking for some kind of hidden intention. After a moment, she breathed a small sigh of relief before letting out a mumble that was similar to what I had heard earlier in the day. Judging from the look on Sabrina's face, she hadn't quite caught what the other girl had said, so I served as a translator.
“She said it's nice to meet you.”
-
From then on, we were a trio. Three Musketeers, all for one and one for all. I wasn't sure how Juleka would influence us at first, it was only later I realized that her tastes ended up seeping into Sabrina and I unnoticed, enough that all of us were wearing darker clothing by the time we hit our teens, not to mention a nose piercing (for Sabrina) and hair dye (for myself, which more than surprised my parents the day I showed up at home from a sleepover with pink highlights in my black hair). But none of that was a bad thing, if anything we embraced it all. We understood Juleka when very few would bother trying; her accented French could come out sounding low or in mumbles to others, but we knew what she saying. Juleka could be as chaotic as her mother around the right people, and it seemed as though we were her people.
The three of us were together enough that a language was taking form among ourselves; an unholy mix of French, Scottish Gaelic, English, and some Mandarin. Every weekend a sleepover, either at my place, Juleka's houseboat or Sabrina's apartment. Sabrina had in fact been over more times than I could count, largely because her father, Roger, trusted my parents and knew she was in good hands. He worked long hours as a police officer but took a step back from front-line duties as Sabrina got older, not wanting to be in danger and leave Sabrina without a parent. It took Roger...longer to get used to both Juleka and Anarka, her mother, but in the end was won over by a weird shared taste in rock music. Sabrina had told me when he was younger that Roger upheld the law to the letter but had significantly mellowed out over the years, which was good as Anarka didn't exactly park her boat in entirely legal areas. Our first combined sleepover on the Liberty also caused him concern as the boat had ended up in another place entirely overnight, but seeing his daughter happy must have helped warm things over.
Not to mention my own parents helping in that respect, too. I dearly love my papa and my maman; both of them work so hard to keep the bakery running, which means long days and nights, but they always also find ways to make time for me. Occasionally I pitch in, there have even been periods when Sabrina has as well, and they get along with Roger and Anarka. They've even taken on Juleka's brother, Luka, as a delivery driver! Anarka had come back to Paris so that Luka could attend a prestigious music school. Juleka was offered the same but she wasn't quite sure what she wanted to do yet, so of course Sabrina and I jumped at the chance to have her in our class, though it did mean she had to go down a grade because of odd timing.
We were now getting ready to enter our third year of school together. It seemed as though we wouldn't be switching classes, even with the addition of some new people into the school; I didn't pay attention to any of that but Sabrina had found out that not only was the daughter of the Mayor going to be in our school this year, but also the son of some famous fashion designer. Ag...something. Agreste maybe? That name had sounded familiar.
It didn't matter; nothing would change my year too much. Nothing exciting would happen, nothing out of the ordinary. I'm happy being normal, I'm happy in my life, with my friends.
But as I travelled to school, before meeting up with Sabrina and Juleka, little did I know my life would change in a big way. All because I picked up a small butterfly brooch that was lying in a puddle of water. I didn't even notice it at first but a purple jewel caught my sight. Bending down to pick it up, a terrible shock came to me, one of the worst I've ever experienced.
A vision of a girl in a ladybug outfit, a boy in leather made to look like a cat. Some figure calling himself “Hawkmoth”. A box that seemed to be filled with random jewellery. A bunch of mysterious figures that were guarding over said box, but it was stolen from a Temple-
“Nettie!”
I looked down the street and saw Sabrina calling out to me, with Juleka standing next to her. I couldn't just leave the broach, it seemed far too precious for that. Besides, if it gave off such a strong mental vision, maybe that meant that I was supposed to have it? I could always give it up later, and maybe someone was out looking for a piece of lost jewellery. Stuffing it into my pocket, I ran down to meet my friends. After school was over, maybe then I could figure out what to do with it.
For now, my last year at Collège Françoise Dupont was about to begin.
