hello i thought you would appreciate the morbid humor my also not-an-allergy allergy. i have cold urticaria, which is where any exposure to cold temperatures on my skin make me break out in hives and in extremis go into anaphylactic shock. my mom is way worse, she's gone into shock just from getting in pools too early in summer.

Oh yeah! I have that too as part of my MCAS. Same with heat. Too hot I break out in hives. Too cold I break out in hives. A lot of “weird” symptoms that like are usually caused by over active mast cell activity in the skin.

The Demon King or Monstrous Husband could be seen as a reptilian kind of creature with varying body temperatures, for example. Maybe they become particularly hot when angry or frustrated. Or excited.

It would definitely make an interesting pair. A monster partner who burns up with strong emotions, and a Reader who becomes terribly itchy and breaks into hives whenever they're close to heat.

It first happened when he returned from a strategic meeting, greatly upset by some trifle disagreements. He was arguing his cause to you, and you listened intently, occasionally scratching your arm. "Is everything alright?" he pointed out eventually, noticing your constant jolts and squirms. You were distracted by an uncomfortable, yet familiar prickle on your skin. So it doesn’t take him too terribly long to take notice of your avoidance to the sunlight.

Yeah, now he’s going ti be curious.

But instead of immediately asking you first, instead he’ll observe you from afar to find out for himself, analyzing your every move, waiting for your darkest secrets to spill at any given moment.

His plan was a complete fiasco because in turn he found out nothing. Only came off as a creepy stalker.

He may become frustrated, give up and just demand answers from you himself. Wont even ask, just will straight up demand you to tell him everything.

No point in lying about it because he isn’t idiotic.

Kokushibos reaction whenever you inform him of your allergy will be somewhat similar to Muzan’s.

Offers to transform you into a demon because it isn’t like they’ll be a striking difference, you know?

However, Kokushibo is shockingly not the type to force you into demonic nature if you’re against losing your humanity.

He may view your reason as dumb and “typical human behavior” but it’s safe to say that he’ll still love you and won’t turn you without your consent or knowledge.

Instead, Kokushibo will help you deal with your allergy in other ways which are actually beneficial.

Douma

Takes awhile to notice, out of all the uppermoons he’s the most dense, especially with inability to feel proper emotions.

With his consistent work he has to perform in the cult he has very little time with you in general.

But whenever he shares those little moments with you he savors them. It’s his only escape from the cult he unknowingly despises so much.

Douma is another observer, but in the most creepiest way possible. Makes it known that he’s a full-on stalker.

One thing he will immediately notice is that you’re repulsed by the sun. You even prefer colder weather and only ever exit the temple in the dead of night!

How cute, you’re the most demonic human he’s ever met!

Douma isn’t too fascinated by it at first nor does he care until he finds himself frequently fantasizing about it all the time.

As the thoughts nag on, Douma just kindly asks you himself.

Ah, so you’re basically allergic to the sun? Haha! how eccentric.

Cue the horrendous jokes, an increase in teasing.

Deep down, an unknown part of him is surprisingly worried about you. But of course he’ll pretend he’s not. After all, these emotions are foreign to him and he ain’t too fond of this paranoia he’s experiencing which only grows stronger.

Akaza

Akaza is already overprotective enough as it is. Once he finds out of your condition his overprotective behavior will only increase.

There was a time where you did take a step outside on a warm summer day and immediately you break out. You feel lightheaded, break out in wrenched rashes, your delicate skin grows irritated, you look like Nezuko burning in the sunlight minus the flames.

What is Idiopathic Mast Cell Activation Syndrome?

Idiopathic Mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) is one of several mast cell disorders. MCAS occurs when there are a normal number of mast cells in a person's body but they over-release mast cell mediators causing random allergic reactions in multiple systems of the body. MCAS is incredibly common being present in an estimated 17% of the population.

Symptoms

MCAS symptoms are incredibly varied and always occur in multiple systems of the body. Anaphylaxis is common.

MCAS symptoms are specifically not allergies. the reactions may look like allergies but the two are not the same and MCAS is not a condition meaning "many allergies" While MCAS can have some consistent triggers one of the defining features of the disease is that reactions are random and happen unpredictably.

Anaphylactic shock is not a requirement for diagnosis.

Diagnosis

MCAS is diagnosed by an immunologist. It is in part a diagnosis of exclusion and requires ruling out both allergies and systemic mastocytosis as well as other conditions such as certain types of tumors.

Diagnostic criteria for MCAS is debated. Some immunologists follow the symptom-based diagnosis approach in which case the diagnostic criteria are:

Recurring and severe anaphylactic-like episodes that involve more than one organ system

and

Positive response to mast cell stabilizing or mediator medications anaphylaxis-type symptoms

Others follow diagnostic criteria based on laboratory findings. In this case the diagnostic criteria are:

Episodic symptoms consistent with mast cell mediator release affecting two or more organ systems evidenced as follows:

Skin: urticaria, angioedema, flushing

Gastrointestinal: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping

Cardiovascular: hypotensive syncope or near syncope, tachycardia

Respiratory: wheezing

These are not all proposed diagnostic criteria as the subject is heavily debated. Generally, a laboratory-confirmed MCAS diagnosis is considered more legitimate.

Treatment

MCAS is a very treatable condition. Generally treatment follows a path from antihistamines -> mast cell mediators -> biologics.

Epipens are given to MCAS patients with a history of anaphylaxis.

Antihistamines are divided into 2 categories: H1 antagonists and H2 antagonists. These categories are determined based on the histamine receptor each one targets.

H1 antagonists mostly deal with systemic and cutaneous symptoms. H1 antagonists are also further divided into first and second generation antihistamines. first generation antihistamines include diphenhydramine (Benadryl) and Hydroxyzine. These tend to cause drowsiness. With second generation H1 antagonists cause fewer side effects and include drugs like loratadine (Claritin) and cetirizine (Zyrtec)

H2 antagonists primarily affect the gastrointestinal tract and include medications like famotidine (pepcid)

Typically when treating MCAS a person will be put on both a second generation H1 antagonist and an H2 antagonist.

When antihistamines do not treat symptoms well enough the next step is a mast cell mediator. The most common mast cell mediator is cromolyn sodium which is available by prescription only. (this is technically available OTC but it is at 1/50th the dose used for MCAS) Mast cell mediators work by preventing the degranulation of mast cells in the first place.

When both antihistamines and mast cell mediators are insufficient someone with MCAS might be prescribed a biologic such as Xolair to treat their remaining symptoms.

Ususlly you would think about exotic species when it comes to venomous animals, particularly species from Australia. Others are so common that they spontaneously don't come to our mind, such as bees, wasps, or hornets.

However, there are indeed venomous species that live in Germany, which can cause discomfort to severe pain, and – in rare cases – death.

Ammen-Dornfinger (Yellow Sac Spider), its fangs can penetrate the human skin and inject poison into the tissue. Symptoms are usually not worse than a bee sting, but can also cause nausea, vomiting, and shivers.

Gelbbauchunke (Yellow-Bellied Toad), the mucus contains a poison that is irritating to the skin and particulaly the mucosa and the eyes.

Petermännchen (Weeverfish), likes to bury itself in the ground near sandy beaches so that only the venomous spines stick out, causing a danger to the feet of tourusts. The symptoms include excruciating pain, swelling, redness, heat, neusea, vomiting, joint aches, headache, lightheadedness, increased urination, tremors, and in rare cases abnormal heart rhythm, seizures, gangrene, tissue degeneration, and unconciousness. This fish is considered the most dangerous venomous species that lives in Germany.

Spitzmäuse (Shrews) have venomous teeth. However, they rarely bite humans, and even more rarely have the power topenetrate the skin. They mostly use their venom to kill insects.

Kreuzotter (Common European Viper) are elusive animals, so very few peple have actually seen one. Their venom is three times more poisonous than that of the most dangerous rattlesnake. However, the viper doesn't like to waste its venom, that it also uses for hunting, for defense, and it has a much smaller reservoir. That's why the viper is only dangerous for small children and elderly people. Between 1959 and 2003, no viper-related deaths were recorded, and in 2004, an 81-year-old woman died. Victims often have to be hospitalized, about 10 % of them required ICU treatment. The symptoms include severe swelling, shortness of breath, and heart issues, in rere cases paralysis of the affected limb. On the other hand, numerous cases are known where the victims had no symptoms at all, probably because the viper didn't inject the venom.

Aspisviper (Aspic Viper) occurs only in the southern parts of the Black Forest and is very rare. The venom is similar to that of the common viper. It is expected to expand its territory in the future due to global warming.

Schwarzblauer Ölkäfer (European Oil Beetle) sprays a substance that is severely irritant to eyes and mucosa.

Eichen-Prozessionsspinner (Oak Processionary), hairs of the larvae easily break off and float through the air. They contain a venom that causes symptoms that reach from mild urticaria to severe dermatitis. If inhaled, the hairs can cause bronchitis, painful cough, and asthma.

Feuersalamander (Fire Salamander) has venom on the surface of the skin. In humans, it causes a slightly burning sensation on the skin, but it is absolutely deadly for dogs.

Gelbe Haarqualle / Feuerqualle (Lion's Mane Jellyfish): Touching this jellyfish causes excruciating pain, eczema, fever and breathing trouble.

Wasserspinne (Diving Bell Spider) can penetrate the human skin and inject venom. The effects are usually mild and not worse than a bee sting.

No, this isn’t just “lowering attack, lowering stamina regen, etc,” as I like to get a little more creative. (I did a school project about this kind of topic, and I made sure to go into detail)

Horn defect: Horned creatures (like cottol) have their horns continue growing throughout their lives whether or not they have this trait. The defect, which can be gotten from running into rocks, getting hit by a player with a charging attack, or just being unlucky, will cause the horns to grow into the path of the skull, essentially putting the creature on a death timer. You can only lengthen this timer one way: by running into rocks. Again.

Water urticaria: the creature begins taking damage immediately after making contact with water (drinking doesn’t count.) More common on creatures with Volcanic.

Anxiety: “do you want to revive a removed feature for the second time in this blog?”

Lumen nullification: Makes creatures unable to glimmer, gain a glow tail, or shimmer. No matter what. In creatures that already have glowing parts (like minawii), their eggs develop slower because it’s safe to assume those glowing spots are used for attracting a mate. These creatures have their originally glowing parts turn black.

Small lungs: The creature has less oxygen, so if there’s a thunderstorm and you’re still on ground level… yeah… it’s safe to say you’re not gonna make it.

Hello! I saw your post about Wooyoung’s health condition and I was surprised that it seems like he has the same health condition that I do! Just wanted to spread some further light on the condition. This is, of course, based on my own experiences and might not reflect Wooyoung’s (especially because mine is pretty bad and I get flare ups VERY easily). For me, going out in the heat for just a couple of minutes causes a flare up. The rashes/hives will last for however long I am outside and typically remain for about 30 minutes to an hour once I start cooling off. It also isn’t really in isolated areas either, the hives are on your ENTIRE body. This means that not only are you really hot but you feel like clawing at your own skin because everything itches. I currently have to carry epi-pens with me everywhere I go on the off-chance that I go into anaphylactic shock since its basically like my body is having a severe allergic reaction to my own sweat. I’ve luckily never had to use these (super thankful for that). Also wanted to add a HEAVY emphasis on the rarity of this condition. I got misdiagnosed with a simple heat-rash like 3 times before a dermatologist finally told me that what I was experiencing was not normal.

With all this being said, I’m really glad that Wooyoung is on hiatus while they figure out what’s going on. Especially since he is often doing high-energy dances that will likely lead to flare-ups. I’m glad that he and his company are prioritizing his health because it’s really hard trying to figure out how to live with a condition like this, especially since there isn’t a lot of knowledge on it.

Lloyd never really cared about how you looked or how you acted. He loved you for you. So when you told him about your allergy he was a bit concerned for you. Asking questions like does it hurt you? Or if it causes problems. The basic questions. He’s going to make sure you don’t feel any pain both physically and emotionally. Though it’s out of his control he can still worry for you.

What he will do for you if it gets out of hand.

He will try to help to the best of his ability. Going through all the details and going to a rush to make sure you don’t feel pain or anything from it. He’ll even get a blanket if necessary. Or even give you his coat if it’s beginning to be too much for you.

Dates inside

Though this time of year might be difficult for you. He’ll insist on having dates at home. He’ll come up with some childish ideas and weird ideas heck even some simple ideas! I think he’d go a set up an entire pillow fort or blanket fort for you and him for cozy nights. And for movie nights he’ll make you something warm to drink like hot coco or and hot beverage. Heck even down to drawing if possible. He’ll even search up some ideas if he doesn’t know what to do next.

Going out

He really doesn’t wanna see you in pain or anything. Heck he gets so worried that he would hurry to find a place that’s warm for you, even run inside so you won’t have to bare with it. He did search up what your allergy was. He was really hoping that you weren’t keeping anything harmful about your allergy to yourself so yeah he would worry for you like crazy.

You feeling insecure about it

When he notices you feel insecure about your allergy he’ll understand how you feel. It’s ok to feel insecure about certain things even allergies, he’s just glad you didn’t keep it from him. He’ll reassure you that’s it’s a natural thing that happens and that it’s out of control. But more importantly he’ll tell you he still loves you even though you have cold urticaria.

Lloyd is a sweet boy. He’ll love you weather or not you have it or not.😊✨
