No but truly one thing we don’t talk about enough in regard to Jason is the embarrassment of it all. Part of why Jason reacted so strongly to not being avenged is because he really and truly believed in Bruce and thought the world of him and to be let down like that is embarrassing. To die like that is humiliating, to once again be forced to survive on the streets is humiliating, to have to live as a shell of yourself for years is humiliating, and then getting your mind back only to immediately be presented with evidence that your death didn’t change anything is the biggest humiliation of them all. Jason really thought that his death would be enough to change Bruce. That Bruce would choose him over his moral code. To be proven wrong about that is deeply deeply embarrassing

you can just. you can see how much he always wants to do for her, how much he's always wanted to do for her, even through everything that he has been doing already. bec he's been doing a lot!! so much!! it's how he's been trying to show love bc that's how it used to be!!

yet... the reality remains that things aren't how they used to be. and then he calls the him now the "worst version".

he knows. he knows that the person he is in the present isn't the person she's always had in the back of her mind, isn't the person she's familiar with, isn't the person she's the most fond of... is the person that has hurt her. he knows that she's been sensitive about the way he's been doing things, knows that sometimes the things he does doesn't make her happy.... and i think he really just... he sees it, you know? it's not something he just notices and then does nothing about... he's aware. aware that, making her happy, taking care of her like he used to... he doesn't know how to do it properly, doesn't know if he even can anymore. things are different this time. he's still learning to come to terms with that... still trying to deal with the struggles of presenting this whole self that he's very much aware of—without hurting her this time. and i think that a lot of the times :( like in this call :( he just really wants a certain reassurance from mc that he's doing something a little better...........

Hearing his real name uttered by The Voice Who Answers gave him a strange flutter in his belly. It felt strange, but also made him oddly joyful. The happy feeling quickly gave way to worry. Thunderbird Two grounded? Wait, the machine or the pilot? John said repairs, so that meant just the machine, right? Not that that was a good thing. Concentrate on the job at hand. Moving rubble. With explosives. Okay, that could be done. No cave-ins though. Tricky. He'd need to be careful - not something that had been a priority with his last employer. "Uh, okay. Yeah." He swallowed hard. He could do this. For the briefest of moments, he'd entertained the idea that John meant Thunderbird One was coming here to take him out to Australia to give hands on help. Then he realised the GDF wouldn't allow that, so John must have meant help-via-holocall. "So, you want me to give Scott . . . er, Thunderbird One advice on types and quantities of explosives and precise placement and stuff, right? I can do that, but I'll need as much information as you can give me on the terrain and the type of rock and soil involved." Doing this remotely wouldn't be ideal, and the potential for getting something wrong was higher than he'd like. What if something went wrong and people got hurt? He'd never be able to prove to IR and the Tracys that he'd changed then.

The look of relief that slips through Thunderbird Five's mask of professionalism suggests that the situation may be far more dire than John had been letting on.

"We appreciate your cooperation." He says, and it sounds surprisingly sincere for so robotic a statement, "The GDF has granted us a special permissions licence, for this rescue only, to have you on-site. I'm afraid we'll have to tolerate a security detail, but International Rescue isn't about to complain about having more hands for a job." There's a quick flash of white teeth that might even count as a smile.

"I trust I don't need to get Colonel Casey in here to remind you to toe the line?" John adds, watching as the other man is flanked by uniformed GDF officials, ready to be escorted out to the waiting helijet. "I'll transfer the schematics I have of the site over to your handlers now."

Even with the guard, the Space Monitor has no intention of leaving Fuze's commline for even a moment. He's taking a big risk here, gambling like this, but he hopes that the fact that - should he try anything, should he go rouge - his GDF entourage will make sure he never sees the light of day again, will be enough to keep his brother and the rescuees safe.

Clarence expressed a desire to change... and John is hedging a lot of bets on that being true.

The auto-mecha-detection-cube made to react to "intangible inexplicable unknown forces" and "extra-reality entities" originally going off in response to the hero. The cube having coffee spilled into it making it stop registering the hero. The hero drinking coffee, then having a seizure and dreaming of the galaxy exploding- the events just prior to the Reset. Like coffee is the way to register the change in the universe.

The fact that the hero's essence was incompatible with lock and key, that they're registered as an anomaly by Aequillibria, that their mana levels can't be read by manaphages (remnants of shadowscythe tech).

Sk'aar needing to 'consume certain aspects' of the dream world in order to wrest control of it from "its current master", that being the hero. People being the most complex and therefore best to consume- the best route to eventually consuming the hero themself.

"And you, [Hero]. I know you. I know all about you. I know what even you don't know about you. I know this world, this dream of yours, and I know your world. Memories and mana eternally flowing. Information just out of reach of visibility. Now I have you. You have me. And we will unleash that which slumbers-"

The fact that Sk'aar was held off by coueage and stories- by memories, memories of friendship and camaraderie specifically. That it is described as relishing in the Hero's despair, that it can "turn the dream into a nightmare", wielding fear... and being defeated by hope. Just the same way that the Shadowscythe nanovirus was defeated- hope from the presence of a trusted friend and leader.

The fact that Lock and Key are storage units, charged with storing information from before the Reset, as well as something they couldn't contain- something that should have corrupted them. They instead "woke" after reaching symbiosis with that thing- that they can now act, but still have to do so working around their protocols. The fact that they are "a pair among many".

The fact that Aequillibria is clearly a computer system too... and "virus" has a meaning for computers just as much as for biology.

Part of making your space is having a space to vent, should you feel the need.

that said, venting isn't the same thing as gatekeeping.

If you think that someone saying they dislike something in fandom on their own blog, without intentionally directing negative attention towards anyone is gatekeeping, I feel like you should take a break from the screen and go talk to other people.

Respecting differences of opinion doesn't mean ignoring the difference. It means accepting that a difference is there, and that you do disagree, and being able to still be civil with the person, because at the end of the day you're more than your disagreement.

Obviously don't put your dislike for something in its tag, or derail someone else's post to voice it. But if you want to vent in your own space, that's your space to. And if someone else is venting in their space, and you happen to like the thing theyre venting about, yeah that may sting, but that doesn't mean it was personal. You have your own space where you can love that thing to your heart's content, and their dislike for it cannot stop you.

People's hcs coexisting means both their likes and their dislikes. If you can only handle that coexistence so long as nobody reminds you that canon/other hcs are out there, then that isn't coexistence, it's tolerance with conditions.

To me, this is simply what I've picked up of Tumblr etiquette. If you disagree, alright. My dms are open, and we can talk. If you'd rather just block me, okay. That's part of making your space.

This isn't about the big things. There are obviously different rules for bigotry/hate/otherwise harmful things...

But whether or not Osiris is bald is trivial, and if you can't recognize the difference, you should take some time away from the screen.
