Tim as Red Robin or Tim as Robin? And why?
There's so many different ways to view this ><
From a comic standpoint, I like his Red Robin run a bit more than his current Robin run in terms of narrative. In the Red Robin run we see him reach his breaking point time after time yet he still persists. We see him when the world around him is collapsing. We see our hero's deepest insecurities and we see him break down. Yet the reason he's our hero is because he gets his way out of it, even if he's still insecure, he continues on.
I like to see Tim's intellect and the way he outsmarts his opponents which is something incredibly cool to read in the Red Robin series. With his current Robin series (the only robin series I've really read with him aside from the current Batman Failsafe Arc and I hated that arc so) we get glimpses of all of that (mostly because we haven't gotten to the climax yet). What the Robin series focuses on is making the relationship with Bernard work while Tim is trying to find himself, whether that's his sexuality or who he truly is outside of Robin. And don't get me wrong, I love that, these series' are tied for me some days. But the Robin run just needs more time and it'll override the Red Robin run easily.
From a Fanon standpoint, they're pretty tied. I like him as the current Robin situation because he's independent, he's moved out, he's breaking away from the mold, etc etc. The issue I have is that Tim as Robin right now is all about finding who he is aside from everything that's going on. So then why is he still Robin?? That's why I like the theory behind him as Red Robin, he has his own title and he's breaking away from the Robin mantle. The issue I have is that Tim at this point is at rock bottom, has no support system and is not mentally sound whereas Robin has Bernard and Detective Williams to fall back on, hell, he knows he can reach out to anyone if he needed to. So they're even.
And from an aesthetic standpoint, ofc im a bigger fan of the current Robin Tim. I mean look at him:
Im frothing at the mouth already.
From a writing standpoint, I usually write him in either his Robin ^^ suit or this suit:
I mean look at him, he's so cute.
So I guess Tim as Robin wins best 2 out of 3 with Red Robin.

Anyway. Fictional characters who recognise their own bad behaviour, manage to grow as a character and change their life for the better are sexy.

Timelines, Red Robins, and Kings
When Tim Drake, who was tossed in the Pits after losing his spleen, suddenly crash lands in Clockworks Tower during Danny's Ghost King lessons, all the time keeper says with a 'I know more than you' smile "Ah, so it's this timeline being played out. How fun this will be. Danny, come. I have a new... friend for you to meet."
"CW...." Danny starts, staring unbelievable at his Ghost King mentor before sighing "Why are you like this?"
"Hush now my King. You will thank me later for the introduction between you both but for now summon forth Frostbite, we'll need his medical expertise for this one "

Shanks—Buggy blinked, not believing what he was seeing—pouted. “Can’t I get a kiss goodbye?”
If someone had told him even yesterday that Shanks would become such a baby the second he was shown the smallest bit of affection… “You know what? Fine.” A delighted expression bloomed on Shanks’ face as Buggy walked back to his side. Buggy smiled, laid a loud, wet kiss dead-center on his forehead, and pulled back to watch his face crumple.
@midydoof is as much of a menace as buggy himself. how am i supposed to go about my daily life while this art exists??
this part has had a few lines of new dialogue added to one scene; i realized as i was doing my edits that i’d dropped the ball on one of the topics of conversation buggy wanted to discuss in an earlier chapter, and this was a tidy way to take care of that loose end.
for any new readers: this is part seven of eight of the long, post-marineford part of this shanks/buggy series! this part is about fifty-five hundred words, and sees us through the usual morning after problems that come with people like shanks (captain of the ship, sap) and buggy (clown, idiot).

@ 911 fans—
Athena is not Buck’s mom.
Hen is not Buck’s mom.
Athena has two children— Harry and May. She is their mom.
Hen has two children— Denny and Mara. She is their mom. Karen is also their mom.
These black women are not the mothers of a grown-ass white man. Just as you should not pigeonhole black women into sassy, emasculating, and domineering stereotypes— which I see you all do, you should also not pigeonhole them into the stereotype role of the domestic laborer: cooking for, cleaning up after, and being a mother to a white “child.”
Shut the fuck up about “Mother Hen” and “Mother Athena.” If you aren’t talking about their relationship with their own legal children, shut the fuck up. Stop calling these women sassy and stop referring to them as Buck’s mothers.
Buck has a mother, Margaret Buckley. Margaret is his only mother. I don’t care if you dislike her, but replacing a neglectful white mother with a black woman as a caretaker is not the endearing move you think it is.
