Asriel being swapped with Gaster is a very fitting role swap in my opinion, and AzzyTober wants to shine light upon them!

fishmonger is a must no matter what you listen to, best hyperpop album out there. so much different genre mixings, so many creative ideas, so much oomfh in a single god damn album while still sounding really good. there is no bad song in this album yet there is so many elements from different genres. listen to it! its good really good it has alt/indie rock elements to it :D

jane remover is an artist who boggles my mind because the fella wasnt even 18 when she created the album that has shaped the hyperpop realm since the day it was posted, having effects to the genre to this day. album influenced the genre and i am sure of it! while some of the songs were removed from the album it is insanely fun and unique 4 songs to listen to.

apparently white tiger is digicore but it’s basically the same genre. smooth album, taking inspiration from others while still keeping it fresh and original with various cool and unique ideas. executed well and the songs transition very well, never felt like the song was forced into the album. definitely listen, this more experimental one. while the last 2 were more mainstream in the genre (that means if you listen to hyperpop you know these albums) this one not so much, but the internet sweaty nerds who listen to sematary and dg love 2hollis for some reason

sidenote: 2hollis’ new album “2” goes also extremely hard so listen to that too, even tho its more electropop

while frost children’s album “spiral” i didnt enjoy that much this one i enjoyed a lot. definite improvement can be seen. up there with fishmonger as one of the best imo, the beats of this song are impeccable. the lyrics are a point where they can improve but MAN, i can let that slide with the beats. they go hard. transitions between songs are also insanely well executed and make me tingle every time c:

very fun album, consistently high energy from start all the way till the end. all 3 six impala’s songs are very very good. hell, earwax imo is even better than wflytd. but this i would recommend listening to more, because this has everything and it has the everything in extreme quantities. have fun fucks

bit of a wild pick, since twikipedia previously made pretty generic hyperpop, but this album for some weird reason stuck to me. yeah the lyrics can be a bit lacking at some points and not all the features were,,, good. but something about this album is just, good. the beats are solid and unique even when inspired and i dont care about the lyrics when your singing voice is as good as theirs. the singing just somehow fits the music so well. it’s not what i have is so god damn underrated its borderline criminal, the song goes HARD. the buildup, delivery and the ending are just amazing. might be a bit different from previous albums but it’s a good listen. mark my words, in a few years time twiki will make an album up there with the best. but rn imo twiki needs more experience, few more albums and they are golden

Most underrated character? ~ Hmmm…. For me, I think that’s a dead-tie between Cissnei and Nanaki. Nanaki for being just the bestest four-legged fella to walk Gaia and Cissnei bc Zack & Cloud would have debatably never made it out of ShinRa’s grasp without her helping them get away! 😭

Most overrated character? ~ There really, really isn’t a single character out of the cast that I’d say I hate or accuse of being utterly overrated. They’re all lovely or despicable in their own right. But I guess if I had to pick one, hmm… I think I have to go with Rufus? Maybe? I’m not even sure if he’s considered very popular haha, but idk I’ve never been the biiiigggesst fan of his vibes and usurpation. Still awesome looking dude, but I’d be perfectly fine if he never entered my mind 😂 (don’t hate me lmao)

Right now, he seemed a little blown away at the moment, unlike the group of three that conversed casually at his table.

"You ever read 'The Moonlight Shines Upon Us'?"

"Yeah. Everyone's read that."

"Cuz it's good. The plot twist at the end made me cry so hard..."

The girl in the glasses, sporting a garishly pastel-green bob cut.

The guy with dark hair and ridiculously huge pants that remind Black of some dazzlingly out-of-date trend from a few decades back.

The shorter fella that seemed to be accompanying Magpie, their hair in two childish braids.

And Black. Black, who had barely uttered a word throughout this entire meeting.

"There's this really underrated book that I think you all should check out."

They all turned to him.

He's perfect! This is just what he wanted.

"It's called 'Daughter of a Woman Scorned'," Black stood up to search the shelves for one of many copies, before returning to the group with a book in hand. "Really good. Really dramatic."

He pointed at Magpie. "And you won't be able to see what's happening in the story till' it hits you."

The group voiced their intrigue as Black placed the book on the table; Magpie was the first one to reach for it, and she began reading at, quite frankly, an unreasonably fast pace.

Only a few minutes or so had passed, and she was already around the fifth page despite the book being relatively large.

"What's it like?! What's it like?!" Illya perched herself above Magpie, trying to get a glimpse at the pages.

"Yo, Black! Can you find that book for all of us?"

"My pleasure," He says as he leaves to find copies of the book. They usually tend to be bundled up next to each other on the shelves, thanks to the meticulous and careful work of the librarians, so Black was quick to find and return two different copies of the book Magpie was reading.

Damn. He fumbled earlier, failing to grab a sufficient amount of books. But, because he's otherwise perfect, the group didn't notice because they were too enthralled in his legendary book recommendations!

The other two sit down and read as Black observes them.

"Magpie don't spoil the story," Illya mumbles, her nose deep in the book.

Black silently finds another book for himself, one he hadn't read before. He decides that he'll be fine if this book doesn't meet his absurdly high standards today.

This goes on for a good while.

"Wow." Magpie is the first to speak.

"Got something to say?"

"This book is PHENOMENAL, dude. You've got GREAT taste."

Black swears to whatever god there might be that his systems short circuited for just a millisecond as soon as he processed the sentence.

Quick! Say something! Before everyone realizes that your internal processor may or may not have started an electrical fire!

"Yes,"

There's an abnormally long pause.

"I am."

Metaphorically he was shitting himself.

That sentence made absolutely no sense whatsoever and there's no way to ignore the fact that his new group had noticed his absolute buffoonery. If he's not perfect, then what is he?

"A damn genius, that's what you are!"

Black attempted to feign indifference by hiding his face within the book he'd been reading for the past hour, but of course, it was all too easy to see him absolutely losing his shit, heat literally radiating from his face.

"Listen, I gotta drop Maggie and Illya off at their home so i can make it to my band gig on time. We gotta meet again!"

"Yeah. How does the 16th sound? At noon? We'll bring lunches!"

"Sounds great!" Black's voice is a little muffled from within the book.

"Next time, you should let us read that story you're holdin'. The cover looks interesting!"

"Don't worry, I will."

From the corner of his eye, he sees the group smile and wave goodbye as they exit the door, seemingly in a haste.

Reasonably, he knows it's because they're running late for a band gig or whatever.

But....

"Yo, White."

"Sup, Black." He stops in his tracks. "You look kinda jumbled up. Bad day at the library?"

"No," The thought of the sincere words caused him to stutter again. "Just kinda...weird."

"Like what kind of weird?" As White knew, weird ranged from 'a little peculiar' to 'a lead for a world-ending conflict that's been lying dormant until then'.

"Like....social weird."

Not that White would understand anyways, but it didn't hurt to confide in him.

"Oh?" There's a weirdly passive aggresive look in his eyes. "So you can't handle someone else being just as important as you?"

Black does not respond.

For the record; no, he can't.

Prompt: Day 3 ( February 8th ): Underrated characters Author's note: Could it be, me posting a fic on the day of the prompt before midnight? We're all surprised! I wrote about Lena, because she is criminally underrated in my opinion. Anyway, as with the first two this will probably end up on AO3 after I have some time to go over it again. Lena will live for much longer in John’s aftermath than she ever did with him. It’s the kind of thing that will lay you straight out, if you let it – if you think about it too much. Not prone to fits of emotion, or to falling apart, she nevertheless knows better than to issue herself that particular challenge.

She tries not to think about it too much.

When their first wedding anniversary comes, he’s been gone for five months already, an interminable amount of time that is somehow, unbelievably, only a fraction of a lifetime – five months down, and so, so many more to go. Lucy goes with her into town – have a drink, take your mind off it – but by the time they get there, she can’t face getting off the train and looking strangers in the face. They disembark at the next stop instead, cross to the other platform, and get the train home.

By Christmas, John’s been dead for almost a year (longer than they’d known each other – she tries not to think about that too much, either, because the passage of time feels like missing a stair in the dark, a terrifying drop into the rest of her life). She has dinner with his family, his brothers trying to keep it from being a subdued affair, his parents completely unable to try. John’s sweet, grey-haired father, somehow smaller even than the last time she saw him, withered by grief, comes to sit with her and holds her hand. She bites down so hard on the part of herself that wants to weep that her whole body aches.

On the first anniversary of his death, she gets up earlier than usual and makes French toast. It doesn’t taste right, like everything sweet about it is gone. She doesn’t finish it. Lucy doesn’t say anything about it, but she gives it a week and then says, off-handedly, I’ve got a cousin who’s single. Nice guy, works in marketing or something. You want me to set you up? Lena is very polite but very firm. She does not want to be set up.

When summer comes again, she is one of the few marines left from wartime service. The familiar faces have dwindled in the past eight or ten months. Most of them see her wedding ring and assume she’s got a fella somewhere. It suits her fine. She still does not want to be set up.

It’s been almost three years since the last time she saw John when she spots the back of a dark head in a crowd. The lilt of his walk, the precise, tiny conceit in that stride, stops her in her tracks. She would know it anywhere. A hundred lifetimes from now, she would know it. John. She calls out, a hand flying up, because if she loses him in the crowd, what then? The rawness in her voice makes a handful of people turn around, but not him.

He turns and ambles into a hardware store, unaware. In profile, he is so obviously not John that her knees buckle.

John has been lost to her for five years when her smallest and most precocious niece asks her when she’s going to get married again. It is not a difficult question to answer – I’m not. She had never had a strong desire to get married, or not one that superseded everything else, anyway. Women who got married became wives, and there is nothing wrong with being someone’s wife, but she has never wanted to be only someone’s wife. She likes being a marine; she likes her neatly-kept apartment with its park view and no one to tell her not to leave her books open with cracked spines on the arm of the chair, or her empty coffee cups on the table. She has always liked doing things on her own time. She had even begun to assume that she was not the marrying kind at all before she met John, who had immediately made himself a notable exception to all of her rules.

And then she hadn’t been allowed to keep him. Now she was back to who she had always been – not the marrying kind. She knows better than to expect another John.

It is ten years since John when she looks around and realizes that she has friends to whom she has never mentioned that she is a widow. She barely thinks of herself as one. A widow is a descriptor given to delineate you in relation to someone else, and she has been on her own for a very long time.

I’m a widow, she thinks, frozen in place at the grocery store, in the middle of the soup aisle. Why does the word feel so strange?

The following year, when John’s father dies, she attends the funeral, and John’s family treats her like she belongs, like they always have. When she gets home, it’s the first time she cries since she stopped crying over John. It is like something has fallen away inside of her, created a pit of gravity that pulls down and down and down, and she doesn’t go to work the next day. It’s the one time she calls in sick in her entire career.

It is twenty-three years that John’s been gone when she retires from the marine corps. There is a flurry of interest, people turning their heads when they remember that she’s Lena Riggi Basilone. It doesn’t feel intrusive to let other people have a piece of John, the way it once did. He had never especially liked being a war hero, but she thinks he would have liked being remembered.

She’s been on her own for thirty-five years when she absently takes her wedding ring off one day, trying to find some relief from the way her hands are swollen from the summer heat wave. The way her heart lurches when she rubs that spot with her thumb only to find it bare feels like a dim echo of the day they told her about John, an incomparable loss – an insurmountable panic. She turns the house upside down, scratching her arm on the edge of the bookshelf, until at last, disheveled and bleeding, she finds the ring sitting next to the bed, precisely where she left it.

It's been forty-two years since John when her great-niece asks her about the wedding photo on her mantle and she feels herself brighten. Oh, that’s John. Isn’t he handsome? She tells every story she knows until her cheeks hurt from smiling. The ache is gone, burned away, and only the rest remains, transcendent.

She is more than five decades on from the last time she saw John and she still walks on the beach most days, mainly to get out of the house, although she likes the way the air smells, too, likes the sound of the gulls, and the waves against the pier. It is a bright, windy day, and she is not alone on the sand, though she lets her gaze flow off of other people like the water that scurries in, frothy white, and slinks away across the sand again. She is not here for them. She has reached the end and turned back to return the way she came when ahead of her, she spots the back of a dark head.

Going to try and give each Game 5 at most songs since I know a lot of em, I have a fnaf Spotify playlist created just for fnaf songs since I couldn’t find any long playlists that had more than 30-50 songs. Number one FNAF 1 song I always turn to is Open up by Muse of Discord. God Muse’s fnaf songs are so underrated. I know they stopped making fnaf songs and even hidden the original videos due to the early fandom but god if they ever make new ones I’ll hold em so hard. I actually have listened to this song so much that I know all the lyrics to it

Second one, The Original Living tombstone Fnaf song. Gotta tip my hat towards the original, it’s always a bop (Point goes to Trickywi’s cover of said song. Her vocals are always wonderful)

3rd,  Welcome to Freddy's. Another classic. I can’t leave this one out. It has all the qualities of the original fandom, the audios with the characters talking n such. Those will always hold a special place in my heart. It sucks that feel was lost as the fandom and games grew. 

Number 4. Another one that I feel is under rated,  Is it something out there? Like Museofdiscord I believe this song was lost to time. The soft spoken Lyrics fit perfectly

5.  SharaX, Lockdown. Shara’s remixes are always a treat to listen to. And was this song another wonderful addition to their lineup.  (I’m upset that most of the songs here aren’t on Spotify. Can you tell I’ve been around for a long time yet?)

Five Nights At Freddys 2

1.  Mechanical Instinct, Another fnaf song that I know by heart. Other than Open up this is on my top 5 most favorite fnaf songs. It’s also what led me to finding a band that I adore the music of, Aviators! I highly recommend listening to it if you haven’t yet or need a reminder. 

2. Back again by groundbreaking. What did happen to groundbreaking? I haven’t heard of anything from them in years, I hope they’re well cause they took over fnaf 2 era. (Shout out to their other fnaf songs like the mangle)

3.  Sayonara Maxwell, Five Nights At Freddy's 2 song. Fun little fact, little kid me thought that this song in some parts wasn’t sung in English when it actually is. Regardless another fnaf song that I adore, showcasing the stress of how many animatronics you have to deal with in fnaf 2

4.  "The Puppet" by GatoPaint, another song artist I haven’t heard anything from in years. I hope they’re doing just as well! Although it was later on disproven it doesn’t push away how fucking hard this song goes. 

5. No more by giveheart records (Natewantstobattle). What did you think I would say Mangled? Although that one is a classic I gotta give my love to another song.  (I’m slowly starting to realize that I have a taste as I go and write down this list. Anyways I’m still upset that we didn’t get the plush looks from this game)

aaaaaaaaaa!!! Tysm!! I am always thinking about this fella he’s so underrated and often mischaracterized I feel like. I wish everyone cared him a little bit more he’s very interesting and beloved to me!!!!

I realize I ended up kind of going off more than I intended about him s , I hope that’s ok ^^; thanks for indulging me ehehe

I think fundamentally what I appreciate about him is how he is a plain but nuanced enough character to serve the story well. He stands out from hajime and shuichi to me (charas I both enjoy!!) because I appreciate how his narrative as a protag isn’t built around insecurity : makoto knows he’s average and is pretty normal about it he’s just doing his best in a scenario he by all means shouldn’t have been a part in lol.

It’s subtle but for me he avoids a lot of anime protag tropes that bore me by 1) not being insecure as a personality arc 2) not being immediately loved by his peers, they in fact treat him with a lot of hostility. It’s nothing groundbreaking but I just have so many thoughts about him he’s such a solid and elastic guy lol. I’ve never understood personally when people say they don’t like him because he suffers from *hopes hard enough to magically make things ok* because I don’t feel that he does. I think his naivety actively puts him in worse situations pretty consistently, but the compassion he’s able to have for others redeems him ultimately even if the situation itself may be irideemable. That’s also why I like his dynamic with togami so much tbh - togami is savvy and cold and knows how to play a game and he is not always incorrect technically regarding the messed up scenario their in. Makoto would certainly benefit from being less sincere but ultimately togami (of all people!) kind of accepts it and I find that dynamic compelling, and ultimately part of why I love naegi sm ^^

~~~PROLOGUE~~~ Y'all remember playing video games in the past that were very popular and very underrated. Well you can! You may play various video game ports like Nintendo Switch, PS5 or XBox Series X or S. But that's not all! We'll be going waayy back since the late-2000s, the nostalgia, the kidcore, everything.

Check out this adorable video game featuring jumping, fun-loving, bouncing candies or gumballs called "LocoRoco" which is basically for girls or maybe kids like that. Bet ya know, after you play the game and the sequel, you watch a random magical girl anime called "Cocotama" or "Catch! Teenieping" then playing "Animal Crossing: New Horizons".

After you found out... There is something, you started to play "Undertale '' for the first time until you draw the LocoRocos as humans in Undertale style. Then you sleep, and you have a dream about the humans you drew. It's been a long time for that...

💚Chavez: 21 yrs, 6′7″💚 the guardian of Shamplin!! very serious just like his twin sister but not so mean abt it~ luvs guarding the world and gives it his all!! kind of a scaredy-cat but usually pulls thru anyways~ -weapon of choice: spear -animal companion: tree frog/green frog -sea animal companion: sea green turtle

💙Tupley: 43 yrs, 4′2″💙 the guardian of Chapo-Wahr!! the oldest of the locorocos, very mature and wise~ still kinda goofy tho despite it :> knows a lot of stuff, taught the locorocos abt defending the world and how to care for it :D -weapon of choice: shield -animal companion: persian cat -sea animal companion: blue whale

1, 4, 14, and 31 for the ask game!

1 - favorite character/s and why

I love The Arbiter from Halo and not just because he is very attractive, although that helps, I suppose. In the games, at least - I hear the novels don't tend to support my interpretation of him, sadly - he comes across as someone kind-hearted and loyal at his core. He and Master Chief unite toward a common goal initially, but their relationship becomes one of genuine fondness and deep respect and he even accompanies Master Chief into serious danger to try to save Cortana, which he has no obligation to do at all - but he isn't one to abandon a comrade!! He is full of Catholic guilt (Covenant guilt?) and is but a cog in a horrendous machine, poor fella. My knowledge of Halo lore indicates he was able to go on to do good things for the Sangheili outside of Covenant rule, and if I'm wrong then that's canon to me <3

All the characters I've mentioned so far have been guys, which is unfair, so I think I will talk about Roderika, who is probably the least spoken about Elden Ring NPC ever outside of, like, Nameless White Mask #2, which I find a real shame. I know she isn't one of the more lore-dense characters, but she's genuinely lovely. I mean, she gives you Aurelia, who is precious and my go-to Spirit Ash even if I know there are better ones out there (although I prefer that she just kinda... supports a bit instead of soloing bosses, to be honest?). I think her storyline, though simple, is really heartening and a rare treat in a game full of sad storylines. She has lost her home and all those dear to her, but finds her talent and a father figure and really grows into herself. She's seen horrors beyond her comprehension but she stays soft and sweet and even finds happiness in her new life, in the capacity she's given.

4 - favorite underrated band

Got to give a shout-out to Nasty Fishmonger which is a folk-punk group that consists of some very cool people I went to uni with!!! They are SO good live and have an album called "Band of Common Folk".

Also, I don't know most of their music but the EP by Shoe, "Giant Demonic Grub Seeks Shallow Swamp Can Pay $200 A Week" is a favourite of mine and nobody except to the friend who (inadvertently) showed it to me seems to have heard of it.

14 - favorite genres to read or watch?

I like reading non-fiction, mostly about natural sciences and history (nice and vague, I know). But basically, give me a book about fish or some shit and I am HAPPY. In terms of fiction, I read more or less anything. Magical realism and stuff that's a bit fantasy or a bit sci-fi is good, but really dense SFF I need to be in the mood for. I'm not a big romance person overall, but if I get invested in a romance storyline it really gives me brainworms.

it’s gonna be another thread. but be careful what you ask for: this is a sport that trains the glutes and thighs like mad. even the skinniest guys walk around like a coke bottle. do you survive a preview?

PLUS it’s like in formula 1: by virtue of physical laws, the best are all between 5′2 - 5′8. which means visual proportions are in their favor. so brace yourselves.

PS - i rate from 1-10. i also include a frontal picture so you see the skaters properly, this thread has some pretty intense contortions and behind views as you’d expect 😂 and we also gotta enjoy how good-looking they are.☝️

let’s start with a guy who does the heavy duty jumps so you can see how figure skating shapes someone. 

^nathan chen - very underrated yale student booty, come on this is literally america’s ass! nate is pretty amazingly built in general, i wanna hear more people talking about it. when gravity is mean to his handsome face because he’s spiralling into outer space again, the chebooty steps right in for him. yes wow, it’s so big and photogenic. the waist when it twists, spectacular. 10/10

^shoma uno - the cute pup seems to be popular on my blog. you guys like him? legit. very smol guy, very curvy, very dynamic skater who comes to life on the ice. and no, this sparkly fella is not a pre-schooler. his coach and the whole figure skating world will disagree with that but shooms is 23! his thickness is legendary and has everyone around the world shook. the s-line is pretty incredible. what can i say. 10/10

^javier fernandez - retired matador, but left a legacy for sure. still a big deal after being a commentator on the world championships and everyone loves the guy so i include him. superjavi is taller and slimmer and you’re probably looking at his costumes instead (this guy did everythig in the book, halloween skills 10/10). regardless, he has a nice side profile and it looks great in motion! the angle in the picture above, chef’s kiss. 7.5/10

deniss vasilijevs - ah, everyone’s tall smart blonde latvian crush. has grown his hair into a ponytail recently so extra points. everyone who trains with stephane lambiel (pictured above) seems to be really thick hence shoma looks like that as well. deniss, not much to say, it catches your eye what’s not to like! solid. he skated a tango recently so man, he got it all. 9/10

boyang jin - he’s hilarious, i love him. like nathan: underrated big posterior! he likes eating all kinds of cakes at figure skating gala dinners and said fact grew a cake on him therefore, jin magic! he also channelled major peter parker booty vibes in his spiderman costume as well. give my favorite geek some more credit everyone, jin looks great! 10/10

jason brown - US figure skating’s number one cutest sunshine. jason lights up the world with his positivity and great body, fantastic jabooty! i mean, look at that picture man. 8/10

keiji tanaka - OOF! a skating veteran with an amazing shape. the pictures speak for themselves again. the waist, the thighs! handsome keiji is a beast. friends, i don’t have to say more. 10/10

keegan messing - a favorite canadian with SUPER emotional skating that always has a personal theme. and you can tell from a mile away that keegs is thick as hell. he wears tight clothing and is mega flexible, jesus. he recently married and i wanna congratulate his wife lane — seen above, i haven’t seen a brighter smile on a bride — on her wonderful short king. 10/10

mikhail kolyada - another underdiscussed skater who’s pretty damn good and puts on a sizzling show! mike is a perfect blend of adorable and handsome. you won’t believe it, he’s 26. well-endowed with a backside, mother russia got something to offer. the kolbooty — it’s just right. look how proportionate and that curve. 8/10

junhwan cha - the utter pride of south korea and an ever-improving amazing talent, junhwan is tall, slim, and gorgeous. to reiterate how his coach (brian orser) has summarized it at worlds yesterday: “beautiful!!” you can’t expect an elf-like 180cm giant who models for VOGUE to have a huge ass. it just wouldn’t fit into the whole elegant impression. i’ll give a low score but know that junhwan is perfect. 3/10

daisuke takahashi - a living legend that HAS to be included, the oldest on the list! dai is 35 and has to be mentioned here since he returned to figure skating! he got back so. (10/10)

yuzuru hanyu - the preview guy! yeah: whew, he vibes different. collect your jaws, everybody. the best figure skater out there obviously has a breathtaking silhouette and the juiciest royal buns. which do pretty crazy things in his routines and when they’re clad in his many fancy pants causing twitter to collapse. mind he often wears padding because his jumps are dangerous af so yuzu will gently fall. but still, everyone in the fandom knows that the yubooty is shapely and way too smacktastic to ignore. 

yuzu knows, too, his ass is seemingly in every camera and he bends himself over like nobody’s business. imo, and all his colleagues are saying that, the waist kind of steals the show even more. his torso is entirely flat so his hips stand out even more. ugh, nice thighs, too. full package (literally, no wonder he’s so confident), as always he goes the extra mile. 113/10! (112 is his short program high score and he always breaks the record so i award 113)

- blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): roy and riza like sir those are my emotional support war criminals fighting for their atonement and for their right to be justly punished for their crimes. the way everyone understands that these two people are SO in love even if the narrative never outright says it, it's undeniable and holy frick it's delicious. the devotion, the tragedy, the indebtedness, the forgiveness, the even-into-hell of it all

- scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): do not @ me but i think worm envy is very cute. that does not negate the fact that i want to put it in a jar and shake violently

- scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): major general olivier mira armstrong has me screaming flailing etc every second she’s on screen. everything she says and does is iconic and correct. remember when she stabbed that guy through the arm and buried him alive in wet cement. remember when she drove a tank up an elevator. remember when she put that guys gun to her head and said you won’t do it and oh no i just realized i very much do have a Type when it comes to characters that make me feel some type of way (fellas if there's a beautiful stern blond milf/dilf of a military commander who inspires tremendous loyalty from their men and has a sword and blue eyes and beautiful chiseled lips and tig ole biddies that's not your fave that's tumblr user rithmeres' pick-me-up-and-pin-me-to-a-wall fantasy)

- glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): winry's parents are in like 3 episodes but i have so much respect and admiration for their commitment to save lives no matter the cost, especially in the manga where the horrors of the ishval chapters aren't scaled back

- poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): i have to wonder why scar is not a more popular character and i honestly think it's because his arc makes people uncomfortable and is not the kind of thing that gets easily ‘fandomized’. narratively speaking he is probably just as important as roy and riza i think, and he has so much to offer the story in the questions that his role in the story raises. what actions are justified when atrocities have been committed? what is redemption and who 'deserves' it? how do forgiveness, atonement, and restoration factor into each other? how do we begin to understand one another as people when we have been hurt so badly? how do we move forward to end cycles of violence? and i think fandom (derogatory) will gloss over those questions because it's not happy yay fun fandom times to sit with these questions and ask yourself what it means for the real world. when scar is introduced he is blinded by hate and seconds away from killing a child who had no part in the conflict that destroyed him but when the story wraps scar is spearheading the restoration of ishval in peacetime as an activist and leader (and maybe even a priest again) and it’s a truly beautiful thing to watch him become whole again and see with eyes unclouded

scrimblo bimblo: sweet cap’n cakes my darlings they should have had a bigger role in ch2 ✨ they get some fandom love but they were underrated as far as canon goes. i even see some people calling them annoying or pointless, which... 🔪 Shut. it’s not their fault they were put in a little haphazardly. i think another appearance or two could have helped them a lot there. but also like, the concept of a rebellion against the queen? that had Potential. i love and adore funny robot (or robot-adjacent) characters and i REALLY like their designs, their personalities are fun and play off of each other well, and also cap’n has good taste he calls queen a hot mama and He’s Right!

glup shitto: METTATON. or, i guess, the ghost that’s Supposed to become Mettaton? it’s as weird as it is sad that, because there’s no one to build his cool robot body for him, he’s just... a shut-in now :( you don’t even see him but his few lines of dialogue are so unhappy and it Hurts Me! it’s such a weird shift from how he is in undertale. and the whole “neo body in queen’s basement” thing, the fact that he still designed it and still has those dreams... i really hope there’s some solution for his situation by the end of the game, even if the robot angle isn’t feasible.

honorable mentions go to seam, swatch, and The Original    Starwalker. seam will likely be lightly relevant again given their knowledge of the secret bosses and the crystals but swatch is probably stuck in the cafe now and Starwalker is. well. Starwalker. i will be stopping by the cafe at all opportunities every chapter to talk to the funny bird. i hope they tell you about stupid shit that happens in the cafe when you’re not around. give me the castle town tea.

poor little meow meow: not controversial (does DR even have controversial characters?) but wins by the pathetic qualifier alone - rouxls :) i’m pretty sure i have actually called him a poor little meow meow before dfjkjdlkfldkf. wheatley 🤝 rouxls: being pathetic and stupid. he wants to be a cool bad guy so much and impress people but he’s actually a big dumb baby. instead of fighting you he either makes other people do it or makes you play a minigame. it’s genuinely surprising that hitting him in ch2 doesn’t immediately end the fight and make him lay down and cry. i am going to steal this grown-ass man’s lunch money, there’s something wrong with him 💙 (he can have half a scrunkly point too on account of Also being very shaped)

horse plinko: not that spamton needs more torment in his life but i would bully him and then buy him lunch (with the money i stole from rouxls). kick him like a soccer ball at 40mph but into a nice bed. i would put him into an actual plinko machine too except i take out the fire pit. there is no nice ending to that one aside from the fact that i took out the fire pit. maybe i’d replace it with legos instead idk i want to torment this little freak but then be nice to him

jevil can go in the plinko too actually he’s a Funny Little Dude but i’m still sore over being stuck on his boss fight for a month. i would like to torment that clown for the same amount of time i spent fighting him

... huh. come to think of it, i wonder if recruiting all the enemies in the game is the key to turning him into an ally? you don’t get the Silly Dialogue in ch2 unless you do, otherwise all he comments on is “leaving them behind”. and that’s his whole beef with lightners, that he was once left behind. interesting! maybe the lancer fun squad proving not all lightners are the same and that they care about darkners is what gets him to change his mind. still sending him to eeby deeby though Goodbye Fucker!
