After The Last of Us, the Sonic movies, and the Mario movie, there really is no excuse for a bad video game-to-live action adaptation anymore.

The Last of Us showed that a game with a deep, complex story can be translated on screen.

The Sonic movies showed that games that are on the fantastical, whacky side can work on screen.

The Mario movie showed that game franchises that don’t really have a storyline can still work.

The days of video game franchises being an adaptation graveyard are pretty much over.

I have zero expectations with the live-action Dead or Alive movie, and it's surprisingly fun. Also, this scene with Christie and Tina is just... *chefs kiss*

There are so many book/video game adaptations coming out but... why are 90% of them live action? Don't get me wrong some of them are good but there are so many that have already been adapted where you just KNOW it would have been so much better if it was an animated adaptation instead.

Speaking of live action can we start going there other way where people take cool live action movies/shows and make them animated instead? I thank that should be the next big thing, well things.

An adaptation will turn out good if the crew behind the series actually enjoys/loves/are fans of the source material and want to do it justice. I know, what a concept, amirite?
