hey guys I'm back. It's time to post another AU out of the blue there's some Nathan backstory for y'all

Nathan was not born into the Moriyama's debt

he grew up in Baltimore under 2 Polish immigrant parents who were too busy trying to survive in the capitalist arena that is America to feel anything but discontent for their son

His father ran a butcher shop and his mother was a secretary at a failing business

his father's shop was where he first learned to slaughter

where he first got used to the weight of a knife in his hand

the first time he transferred that knowledge to a human he was 19

one of the part-time workers at the shop was slacking off, and frankly pissing him off

so he followed him home after close

cornered him in a dark alley

and before he knew it, he had been killed with a butcher's quick precision

he hid the body in a dumpster and that was that

but he liked it

and so he tried again

with a stranger this time

and then again

and again

and again

and people began to take notice

papers began to write about the murders

and Nathan's moniker was born

but Nathan was inexperienced in clean-up

and so it was only a matter of time before he got caught

but he was lucky

oh so lucky

because the people who found him first were under Kengo's payroll

and he had taken an interest in the young butcher

and so Nathan was given a choice

go to jail and pay for his crimes, or come work for Kengo and get rid of whoever hes told to

it was an easy choice

it starts off small

he only does a couple jobs

but hes good

and so quickly he begins to rise the ranks

he's 22 by the time Kengo appoints him to be his right-hand

and then he starts to really work

on top of doing Kengo's bidding, he starts to learn business

and stock market

where when and how to invest

and his fortune slowly grows

allowing him to buy a large house on the outskirts of Baltimore

and to hire staff who are trustworthy

they know what will happen if they anger him

and then slowly his life comes together

he gets to kill as he wishes

he gathers a loyal crew of people to help clean up and protect him

his public image has never been better

he finds a wife

has a son

and everything is perfect

until it isn't

scrolled past a post earlier that was like. what ur one hetero ship and literally it's naley one tree hell. my sister and i were continuing our millionth rewatch last night and we've seen this SO many times and still were fangirl squealing when they had their first kiss (dare you to move!) and they are the opposite of destiel, they're literally SUCH a fast burn they get married as juniors in high school by the end of s1 but. they have the same chaotic ride or die energy. also last night we watched the ep where nathan passes out on the court after taking too many steroids or something and then he busts out of the hospital to see haley and tells her how scared he was and how when he passed out the last thing he saw was her in the crowd and all he wanted to do was get up and go over to her and tell her how much he cared abt her and "how much i need you" and !! i've said it so many times with the goodbye stranger crypt scene but like. telling someone you need them feels even more intimate and vulnerable than an 'i love you' and there's that post that's like "i can't remember the last time i ever told someone i need them" and yea. literally

anyways naley could do the crypt scene and 12 yr slow burn and destiel could do married-in-high-school fast burn + a decade of ride or die drama, trials & tribulations

Oh would I have loved for him to be in the show! It’s hard because historically, it would not have made sense for Nathan Hale to be in TURN, but it would have been mad cool to have the pilot episode be an introduction to our boy! Because the death of Nathan Hale is arguably (I say arguably because it is not 100% proven!) the reason why Tallmadge began intelligence gathering/started the Culper Spy Ring!

I wish there was some more Nathan Hale stuff in the media! I’d even love a movie, or maybe a documentary. you are not alone friend!! we long for more Nathan ♥️

Hey Lovelies! I hope you're hanging in there. We're getting to the end of the week, and it's a long weekend for a lot of folks in the U.S.! Hopefully you've got some downtime planned (no matter where you are), you deserve a break.

Tonight I wanted to send a reminder to try and give yourself some self care this weekend. I've been very bad about it this week and my body is finally telling me so, so here's some gentle reminders for you!

Remember to take your meds today!

Drink plenty of water! Yes I know tea is delicious but it can dehydrate you, so remember to drink some water too when you get a chance :)

Take a shower or a bath, you'll feel way better afterward!

Eat something yummy, and something healthy too! Give your body something it wants, it'll tell you what it is.

Make sure you get plenty of sleep, if you have an extra day off-- take advantage of that! Sleep can do wonders for your mental and physical health.

Try to laugh if you can-- watch something funny, read something funny, look up a terrible dad joke on the internet-- ask a friend for a laugh. Laughter can do so much for us and helping to release some of our fight or flight stressors.

You're doing great lovelies. I know it's been a lot lately, but you're really doing great. You've been working so hard, and you're making incremental progress towards your goals. I'm really proud of you. Remember to be proud of yourself too <3 You are such an amazing person, and you deserve to rest too.

The silver of sunlight irritated him as he lay in bed, the curtains were not pulled tight enough, and even if they were it wouldn’t matter anyway the sheer white curtains were more for decoration than practical use. His eyes opened with a sigh, squinting at first before blinking the ceiling into focus, hands moving to swipe the sleep from his eyes. There was no point in laying there any longer, he knew he wouldn’t find sleep again.

He stood up allowing one big stretch, his movement stopping as he spotted a figure on the deck, back to him as they stared out at the beach. Doing his best to be quiet he made to move outside his body on autopilot once he stepped over the threshold, arms automatically wrapping around the waist of the person standing before him.

It was natural the way you relaxed back into his chest, hands gripping the mug in your hand as you stared out at the waves cresting against the sand. You allowed your head to fall back against him relishing in the safety that his arms brought you.

“You missed the sunrise.” The sound of your voice was soft as it reached him, the cadence of it caressed his ear canals like that of a symphony.

A noncommittal hum left his lips before he bowed his head allowing it to find purchase on your shoulder placing light kisses on the exposed skin of your neck, a smile stretching his lips at the quiet giggles escaping you.

“Why didn’t you wake me?” He felt your shoulders lift in a shrug, one of your fingers tracing the rim of your mug.

He watched you for a moment with an unnameable feeling sparking in his chest as he leaned down to press a loving kiss onto the crown of your head, his hands moving from your waist to your forearms to spin you around in his grip. One hand reached out to grab the cup from your hands and set it atop the wood of the deck before grabbing your hands to wrap around his neck, his own falling back to your waist.

You smiled up at him, your grin doing little to contain the happiness coursing through you as your eyes darted around tracing the roadmap of his face, fingers running through the hair at the nape of his neck. “You always look so calm when you sleep,” your voice trailed off as one of your hands moved to cup his cheek. “I just wanted to remember you like that before we leave.”

Nathan turned his head, his soft lips grazed across the pressure point on your wrist before dropping his forehead against yours. His eyes instinctively closed as the two of you stood on the deck the breeze wafting off the ocean and whipped around the two of you. You stood in each other's embrace just relishing in the safety the two of you brought each other.

The Scott beach house was filled with laughter and music as you and Nathan moved around the kitchen the two of you attempting to cook a late breakfast, far more goofing around going on than any actual cooking. Nathan profusely apologized every time he flipped a pancake too early, the two of you finding joy in the simplest of things.

Upon his relegation to chopping the fresh fruit the two of you picked up from the farmer’s market, he found that the majority of his energy was spent watching you dance around the kitchen as opposed to actually doing the task he was given.

No matter how long the two of you had been together he still couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that you had chosen him, chosen to spend these past couple of years growing and learning with him. Oftentimes he found himself reminiscing on the first time the two of you met in the art studio junior year, how long it took the two of you to warm up with each other even though you’d been subjected to a yearlong partnered project. The relationship between the two of you was slow growing, neither of you particularly happy with the partnership until it blossomed into a friendship and then something more he hadn’t even realized he was silently yearning for.

The two of you didn’t get time like this together often anymore with you at Juilliard and his hectic basketball schedule at Duke, it was either emailing back and forth or long-distance phone calls and even being able to hear each other's voices more than once a month were few and far between considering how high it ran up the phone bills. It was harder than he thought it would be, his mind always racing back to that night years ago when he dismissed your concerns trying to convince you how easy things would be. The longer he sat there thinking about it the more he was starting to understand he said all those things to convince himself more than you.

He remembered how softly you spoke to him, the way you tried to get him to understand just how drastically your lives would change once college hit. The way you subtly tried to talk him into calling it quits, not that either of you wanted to, but you knew what came with athletic stardom in college and although it initiated a days-long argument between the two of you he’d finally come around to understand just how selfless you were being by offering to give up the happiness you’d found in him so he could chase his dreams uninhibited.

Nathan was pulled from his reverie as you approached him, your hand stealing a banana off the cutting board before you sat down on his lap, arms wrapping around his neck as he found your waist basketball-calloused fingers tracing small patterns through the thin fabric of your shirt.

“Wasn’t aware cutting fruit took so much brain power.” Nathan furrowed his brows at your words, one side of his lips tugging up in amusement as he allowed you to feed him a blueberry. “You’ve been focusing pretty hard, I’ve been calling you for minutes.”

“Just lost in thought is all.” You nodded eyes wide as you encouraged him to continue, the gesture ignored as his eyes languidly gazed across your face bookmarking all of his favorite little traits that made you…you.

The kitchen was silent as you watched him watch you, getting lost in the abyss of his blue eyes doing your best not to shy away from his intense gaze. “When you look at me…like this,” your hand moved up fingertips gently caressing the beauty mark under his eye. “It's almost like the love I have for you overwhelms me.” The words were whispered through your lips as your eyes searched between his.

Nathan’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down, eyes never leaving yours as he slowly, almost hesitantly leaned in. His forehead pressing against yours breakfast long forgotten as the two of you basked in this moment, he leaned forward first lips delicately tracing along yours before hungrily pressing against your. Your lips slotted against his almost perfectly the softness of them singing to his soul, each moment of his lips against yours was deliberate; his hand moved to the back of your head to press you further into him although there was little to no space.

The movement of your lips was simultaneous as Nathan’s tongue softly traced across your bottom lip, you parted them for him allowing the lasting taste of blueberries on his tongue to lavish yours and gently sucking on the appendage any chance he’d given you.

Nathan was sure the two of you shared dozens of kisses before, but he couldn’t help but feel like he released years of pent-up yearning onto you the moment his bottom lip first caressed yours. If oxygen wasn’t a factor he would’ve held you there against him for eternity just relishing in how it felt to physically connect with you in this moment.

You began to pull away eyes hooded as you watched Nathan’s mouth chase yours, before giving into him your lips pliant against his once more, your tongue gently slipping into his mouth this time, the blunt edge of his nails digging into the skin of your neck. Kissing you was something Nathan didn’t think he’d ever get used to, the calmness your presence brought him was unlike anything he’d ever experienced before, a part of him afraid to never experience all the ways you made him love you if he were to ruin this.

Whether it was minutes or hours of your lips pressed together and your tongues enjoying the warmth of the other, the two of you finally pulled apart a string of saliva connecting the two of you where your mouths once met, the skin of your foreheads finding solace in each other.

The syllables of your name left Nathan’s lips so quietly you almost didn’t hear him, both of his hands now holding your face, his grip not too harsh but just tight enough to let you know he had no intentions of letting you go.

“I love you.” Nathan’s eyes were wide as he searched yours, watching as they lit up before dimming just slightly, your smile faltering only moments after.

He watched on in confusion as your eyes closed almost painfully, a heavy sigh escaping you before you pulled your head back looking into his eyes once more before leaning forward and planting a lingering kiss on his forehead.

A small sad smile graced your lips as your eyes darted around his face, hand still pressed against his cheek as your thumb caressed back and forth across his skin. “Nathan,” he watched you nervously as you paused. “You have to wake up.”

Nathan’s frown deepened as his eyes flashed across your face, whatever joke you thought you were playing on him wasn’t the least bit funny. “What the hell are you talking about?” The frustration in his voice was tantamount as he blinked at you.

He watched on in a panicked stupor as you rose from his lap, every attempt he made at grabbing you was feeble, his fingers somehow slipping through you although you were right in front of him. His confusion increased as he watched you lean in before pressing a lingering kiss against the top of his head, the fact that you were able to touch him sent his panic to the edge as he continued trying to touch you, your wrist, the material of your shirt but none of it mattered as you rose to your full height taking a few small steps back at a time.

“I love you too Nathan. But you need to wake up, we’re all worried about you.” The smile on your lips felt like it would forever be imprinted on his mind as he watched you turn on your heel and walk away, not once looking back at him.

Nathan’s confusion was at an all-time high as he fervently pushed himself out of the chair, bare feet padding across the hardwood as he ran through the beach house in search of you. There was no trace of you, every room he checked remained empty no matter how many times he retraced his steps to double-check them.

His heart raced in his chest as he found himself back at square one in the kitchen, frustrated tears surfacing in his eyes as he looked around, all that was left of you was the stack of pancakes you’d made. Not even the lingering trace of your scent left behind to comfort him.

A hoarse groan escaped Nathan’s mouth as the stitches in his abdomen pulled taut. He did his best to maneuver to a comfortable position in the lumpy hospital bed, doing more bad than good as he felt the aches and pains begin to shoot through his body. Rustling in the chair by his bed caused him to open his eyes, the sight of his mom awkwardly asleep in the uncomfortable hospital chair elicited an exhausted sigh from him.

As Nathan groggily readjusted to the real world everything began to slowly come back to him, the accident, the edges of an initial dream he could hardly remember, and then the sight of you looking into his eyes as though he was the only person worthy of your time. A sight he would wish to remember forever.

But the truth of the matter was that the two of you weren’t in college yet, or spending a romantic spring break week at his parent’s beach house. And if the gold band fit snugly around his ring finger was any indication of this life being different from the life he led while sleeping, he would bet anything your hand wasn’t adorned with a matching band.

And that you certainly weren’t the person he should’ve been dreaming about a future with.

What was your favorite character traits about Rachel Amber?

Hey! Happy to see you and boy what a great question, thank you! Loaded answer ahead; TLDR, see the good in Rachel Amber.

Rachel's many things. Pretty, hot, charming, stylish, not to mention her lovely voice, these physical traits are already a great start for many. Then you have functional traits-- ambidextrous (can I just say that's hella cool, omg I want that too), social genius/people skills, straight As student, drama queen, masked with a layer of mystery, many people would've already fallen for her, in-game and out, me being one of them when I first got to know her as a character (so pretty much those were my fav traits of her).

But if we strip her physical beauty down and shove aside her fascinating skillset, who is she really? We may never know 100%, but some character traits can still be found.

Here are some of my favourite (&underrated) Yangs to Rachel Amber's sides. aka why Rachel Amber should get more love & less hate from the fandom

Ofc there are exceptions, but those are not relevant in this post; assumptions & headcannons are added

1. A good heart

Kindness to me will always be one of the most important character traits to have for anyone. With all that powerhouse of a Rachel Amber can accomplish, she chooses to use them with kindness.

With her social skills she chooses to lift people up, saving Hayden from a quickly-escalating scolding from Mr Keaton in ep 1, asking Chloe in a nuanced way if she's "taking (getting kicked outta Blackwell) this a little too well", kinda guiding her independent thinking rather than directly telling her what's right or wrong. (There'd be constructive criticism between Chloe & Rachel, which I stan in a relationship/friendship.)

With her intelligence she tutors Justin & helped him improve his algebra from an F to a C I believe? That's pretty impressive, ngl

with her ambidexterity.. idk, she makes Chloe happy :> (yes i'm totally referring to doing graffiti with her left hand on Chloe's insistence *cough*)

This is why I'm inclined to believe that tornado was not Rachel's revenge. She'd never choose to put Chloe, her parents, her friends, at risk; if she wanted revenge she could've killed the men w her powers. Sure you can say some of these might be her trying to live up to her DA father / principal assistant's duties, but at least she chose to do them. She could very well be a kid who doesn't give a damn or fluff through some of these things that requires time & effort.

2. Sees the good in others!

One of the most underrated Rachel Amber traits imo. This girl literally has a reputation of "her friends are her friends", and does not discriminate in terms of friendship/who she hangs out with. She picked Chloe up from her lowest (saw her & praised her for backtalking the biker, defending Nathan, & "you're more of a hero than you think you realise", when Chloe didn't take Drew's money). Rachel stuck with Chloe when no one else did (puts up with her sh*t, which ofc Chloe does the same), literally chose Chloe to share her uncertain future outside Arcadia, did not take her chance to leave when she could in those 3 years, most likely cuz she wanted to leave with Chlo. She also hung out with Nathan (& Chloe when so many wouldn't), saw the good in Frank (yes. same as Nathan & Chloe his reputation is far from great and despite the unhealthiness of this relationship, she at the very least cared for the guy, & saw the humanity inside him), & very sadly fell for the portrayed "gone through some serious shit" act by Jeffers*n, all these showing her being an empathetic & sympathetic person.

I'll add non-judgemental as well, cuz it's why she's able to get along with so many people so well. Like what her VA Kylie Brown says in an interview, whoever you are, Rachel'd be like "hey you're a pretty cool person, let's talk!" It's inspiring. I love that about her. Gotta have more Rachels in the world.

3. Ambitious. Puts in the hard work. Persistent.

"One day, I'm gonna climb Mt Everst." says a 15 year old Rachel in Bts, who has posters of travelling in Asia (the green poster has Chinese words saying "go travel in China", amongst others), already speaks about her courage & ambition. And of course, leaving Arcadia with no one but Chloe for a better life. Yes you can say it's reckless, because it's a big idea for a teenager, but she didn't just give up on it. It stuck with her, and she worked hard for it. Doing photoshoots to get modelling jobs, maintaining her 4.0 GPA, finding opportunities to leave... she did those for 5 years. And in the comics universe, they made it out! Now they're over 22yos with an LA apartment, Rachel's in modelling gigs with her acting career kicking off... what could've been for game Rachel. (oh the things I'd do for Bts' ending to be Max appearing in the nick of time instead of that damn vibrating phone!) Also I wonder if in some universes, like the wheelchair Chloe one, a missing Rachel could mean she actually made it out without others knowing, instead of the darker end.

4. Caring & thoughtful & protective & passionate partner/friend/lover!

She listens to Chloe's problems (therapy session), she gives Chloe nice clothes to wear within the few days they'd met (what financially challenged Chloe needed, & in a way that wasn't awkward for Chloe), she sends post cards to Chloe while she's away (she thinks about her often), & "don't f****ing touch her". Passionate lover, I mean.. the way she kissed Chloe under that lamp (with high intimacy of course) is good enough an example. Chloe's the romantic one in my head. Rachel, the passionate.
