#what quality should i stream on twitch

Text
i think for me, the watcher situation comes down to this:
it's absolutely respectable that the watcher team wants to grow and produce better quality content. it's respectable that they don't want to stagnate and end up pushing the same content out over and over again. that's not satisfying for them creatively, i get that.
however, if higher quality, more heavily produced content is not what your fans are asking for, then you can't ask them to fund it.
this all-or-nothing method they've gone for is frankly bizarre. it feels like they leap-frogged all other alternatives to improving their finances and ended up here, alienating and frustrating the majority of their fanbase (the fanbase they thanked for getting them to where they are).
i think this could have gone a lot better if they:
Hadn't hyped up this video for a week.
Hadn't announced the worth it successor just beforehand.
Hadn't put out a wishy-washy, "boo hoo we're so sad about this", over-produced video.
Hadn't made it $6/month (more in a lot of countries given exchange rates).
Had considered that this means fans in specific countries literally cannot pay for the subscription due to geo/region-locking.
my ideas for improving their funds, aka things they could have tried before blowing their brand up: create their own website with two options - a free version with ads and a paid version without ads, OR make better use of their patreon/make their website extra content, not all their content, for example:
Put the ghost file debriefs on there.
Put shows like survival mode on there (or even shift that show from pre-recorded video to live-stream - live stream access to patrons and VOD access to everyone, maybe).
Put episode commentaries there.
Do reaction videos to their old buzzfeed content, talk about memories and BTS, and put that there.
Put one/two episodes of each show, per season on there (and ONLY there).
Put the episodes up there a few days early.
Make specific, website only content (that's not your main and most popular series aka ghost files and puppet history).
Record the live, in-person shows and put those VODs up there.
EDIT (thought of something else lmao): put extended or even uncut versions of ghost files on there. Paranormal Detour on Detune's twitch channel has shown that people will willingly sit through 6+ hours of a ghost investigation.
EDIT: idk, do livestreams once a week where you watch scary movies with fans on discord or twitch.
(side note: the fact that they're not taking down their patreon and instead shifting all of their podcast content on there, something the patreons who have been loyally giving them money for years didn't ask for, is ridiculous and greedy. add to this the fact that they don't even get a free sub to the new website, instead get 40% off - a measly 10% more than anyone else who subs before the official launch).
the thing for me is that they're claiming they want to make "television" and "television-grade content". that's completely fine. what's not completely fine is acting like your four episodes a month is equal to netflix's entire catalogue.
this really felt like it should have been something they told us they were progressing towards, not something they revealed to be on the imminent horizon. idk, it just feels out of nowhere. no, they don't owe us all of the info about their company. but something had to be better than this.
final thought - it's okay and valid to be upset at the team for this. for a lot of people, it's a complete betrayal (especially the comment that $6 a month is something "anyone and everyone can afford", i mean yikes). i do think some people's anger got the best of them, and some of the comments i've seen across youtube, twitter, and tumblr are plain bullying, racism, and harassment. until we have the whole story, we can't decide that one founder (aka steven in a lot of people's minds) is solely responsible. i know a lot of these awful things are only coming from a small minority of the fandom, but they still get seen.
at the end of the day, all three of them got up in front of a camera and made this video, together. that can only lead us to the conclusion that they made this decision together. acting like these men in their 30s couldn't stand up against it if they truly wanted to, is so strange and parasocial lmao.
tl;dr there were much better ways of going about this announcement, if it even needed to be made at all. however, that doesn't excuse the hateful shit being spewed at the team. for now, all we know is the three founders decided they were done with youtube, and done with their loyal youtube audience.
(i have so many more thoughts on this but i need to stop lmao. however i do wonder how different things could have been if 1. they had hired someone with actual business experience as their CEO from the jump, and 2. this video was more of a "hey we're broke! this is a last-ditch effort to save our company!". guess those questions will remain ... well ... you know ...).

I think maybe the thing people r getting at with the “chat is a fourth person pronoun” thing is that chat has a panoptic quality to it that other forms of address (you guys/y’all/etc) do not. like saying “chat what should I do” suggests your actions are being monitored for entertainment purposes by an audience that you yourself cannot see, which is substantively different than “guys what should I do.” like if Truman was aware he was in a television show. so like the fact that “chat” as a form of address has moved outside of twitch/streaming and into a more general lexicon could be a way of comedically acknowledging the deep terror of mass surveillance, the common phenomenon of being filmed in public by other people, and so on. it’s the exact type of thing I would expect people who grew up with elf on the shelf and mommy bloggers and live-streamed mass shootings and wiki-leaks to find funny

streamer!ellie HCs
i have no idea if doing drugs and making out is against twitch TOS but pretend that it isn't if it is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i know everyone HCs her with a shitty setup, but she definitely takes pride in her setup.
ellie has all the expensive equipment and is constantly upgrading to have the best gameplay (she's spent over 8k on her equipment).
her camera is definitely the most expensive. she wants everyone to see how sexy she is (plus the edits of her HAVE to be good quality)
omg talking about the edits, her phone would be STACKED with them all saved. purely for flexing reasons.
the comments are filled with thirst for her and she shows them off with pride.
"look at what elliewilliamslefttit said about me, dina. they're literally in love with me. should i start an OF? they'd all subscribe."
dina shut down the idea of starting an OF very, very quickly (jealous gf core).
she mainly plays horror games and PVP games.
her favourite games are overwatch, fortnite, dead by daylight, and resident evil (resident evil 8 to be specific).
whenever she plays horror games, she sits with her back very straight and hyperfocuses on the game.
she tries to prepare herself for the jumpscares but she always lets out a high-pitched scream and gets embarrassed.
there are definitely memes of her screaming on tiktok.
when she plays pvp games, she has to mute her stream mic occasionally so she can threaten her teammates and not get banned on twitch.
her usernames are something stupid. probably like "dinastoenail" or "dinosaurlver69420".
she smokes on stream sometimes and her fans go crazy. she purposely makes herself look hotter when smoking too.
whenever she feels possessive over dina, she makes out with her on stream for like a few seconds.
ellie 1000% has a cringy outro. she says cringe stuff and throws in some hand signs to top it off.
her fans love her tho.

SITUATIONSHIP 〻ᯇ # lee heeseung
Tumblr media
001. BOMBOCLAAT | smau + written 760 wrds
IN WHICH ✶ y/n loved the idea of love, simply because she hadn’t experienced it yet. She hoped and prayed that love would come to her at the perfect time of her life where she’s mentally stable and ready for it. So when she suddenly gets attention from Lee Heeseung—she can’t tell if she likes this or not? This sudden attention, he was extremely sweet to her, way too sweet that it was suspicious. Given his reputation, Heeseung wasn’t the type to settle. So why was he all up on Y/n? and just why was Y/n enjoying it? She was confused with herself and her new situationship, maybe she’s just overstimulated by everything and scared to commit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Oh my god, Hani! You just stole my kill.” Y/n groaned in disbelief. “Oh, I’m sorry.” The boy laughed, “I’ll let you have the kills, I'll just assist you now.”
“There’s shooting to the right, let’s rush!” Seunghan said as his and Y/n’s characters sprinted towards the shooting. “Okay. You got that, Y/n!”
“OKAY NEVERMIND PLEASE COME HELP ME!” Y/n shouted as everything went downhill as soon as she started shooting. “I DONT GOT THIS I DON’T THINK I’M THAT GOATED.” She rapidly spoke as she tapped quickly at her mouse.
“I got it.” Seunghan said as he quickly killed the team that was attacking Y/n. “Thank you, Hani. You’re my savior.” Y/n sighed in relief.
“Of course, we just have one more person now. Let’s go to find them.”
“Hi, chat!” Heeseung waved to his webcam. “Me and Jake are gonna play a little fort today, maybe some roblox if I feel like it.” Heeseung explained the game plan for his stream today.
“Hi, chat.” An Australian accent spoke out, breaking the sound barrier which hurt Heeseungs ears, along with chat’s. “Jake, your mic is so loud bro.” Heeseung laughed as he switched the screen to discord, where you could see Jake adjusting the volume of his mic.
“Is this better?” Jake asked, Heeseung nodded his head approving the sound quality of his mic.
“Chat, I was just peacefully playing Sims 4 when Heeseung-Hyung suddenly tweets saying we are playing fortnite? I didn’t agree to this at first, I was busy making the boys.” Jake argues. “Jake likes to also give himself a girlfriend, right?” Heeseung teases, with a smirk on his face.
“Hyung, you know my dm’s are crazy filled.” Jake tried to show off. “Whatever, let’s just play fort, is your update done?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay, do you want to play squads for the shits and giggles? We can just hope they have mics.” Heeseung suggested. “Yeah, playing with strangers…can be interesting sometimes.”
“Okay, ready up.” Heeseung says and Jake does so.
The two loaded into the game, being put into a squad with the users, “HaniHehe” and “FashionQueen127”.
“FashionQueen127? What kind of username is that?” Heeseung asked. “Says you, KittyDestroyer.com??” Y/n asked in confusion.
“I’m a kitty destroyer, it’s very literal.”
“And I’m a fashion queen, it’s very literal.” Y/n said seriously which made Heeseung and Jake laugh.
“I’m only playing around.” Heeseung chuckled. “HaniHehe, is your name Hani?” Jake asked. “It’s my nickname, my name is Seunghan.” Seunghan answered. “That’s cool! I’m Jake, duh, it's in my username.” Jake scoffed at himself.
“I’m Heeseung, what’s your name, FashionQueen127– Do you like NCT?” Heeseung asked mid sentence. “I do like NCT!” Y/n said with some excitement. “Oh, and my name is Y/n.”
“I’m streaming right now, say hi to my chat.” Heeseung said as he pinpointed “Fencing Fields”. “Let’s go to “fencing fields.”
“Hi, Chat.” Seunghan and Y/n said at the same time. “What’s your twitch username?” Seunghan asked. “It’s just my name Lee Heeseung.”
Y/n and Seunghan knew who Lee Heeseung was, hello who didn’t know Lee Heeseung?
The two went silent for a second, debating whether or not they should mention the fact that they both go to the same college as him.
“What’s your twitter?” Y/n asked. “It’s heeseung2earth! Do you listen to wave2earth?” Y/n loves wave2earth, she even saw them live once. “I love them! I saw them live before! I’m about to follow you.”
“Me too!” Seunghan said as he pulled his phone out. “Hey, I want new followers too. My user is jaeyun.sim!” Jake said.
user ynzhng has followed you!
user honghani has followed you!
Heeseung looked at his phone, looking at their profiles before following. Stunned at Y/n’s profile, he thought she was pretty.
“You guys go to Primrose? We go to Primrose!” Heeseung gasped as he followed the two. “Small world.” Y/n awkwardly chuckled.
“You knew who I was, didn't you?” Heeseung smirked. “Yeah, we did.” Y/n confessed, “You don’t know who we are– who I am at least so I didn’t say anything.” Y/n chuckled.
“What do you major in?” Heeseung asked as he looked around for loot. “Fashion.” Y/n answered plainly.
“And you major in dance right, Seunghan?” Heeseung asked, Seunghan was a familiar face to him.
“Yeah, I do.”
“You’re in…the Riize crew, right?” Heeseung tried to remember what dance crew the other was in. “Yes, I am!”
“That’s cool! Chat, we just made new friends!”

Okay, first actual writing for somebody on this blog! (Had this idea from basically Aliamors entire page)
Case is asked on stream at one point, “Case you should play Genshin Impact”
He slams his palms on the desk and clasps them together, sighing heavily. “Chat. I will NEVER play Genshin impact.” And doesn’t elaborate the rest of the stream.
Later in you and hims relationship, you start streaming Genshin Impact in these extremely high quality cosplays you made yourself, your set up basically right next to his. You RAGE at one of the elemental cube boss’, yelling, “OH COME ON!!!! YOURE A CUBE!!!!! DISSIPATE ALREADY!!!”
He snickers, turning to his chat.
“See Chat, this is why I don’t play Genshin Impact.” He glances over at you, who was staring at him dead in the eye with a “are you serious right now?” Look on your face. “Chat, doesn’t he respond the same way I do to this as to Fall Guys?” You remark, leaning towards your mic, making direct eye contact with Case.
His chat is CACKLING, so is yours.
“AY WHATCHU MEAN BY THAT?!” He yells, spinning his chair to face you.
“You know exactly what I mean by that.” You joke back, looking at your nails in a sassy manner.
————————————————————————————
• I have a feeling he’d like, hang over your chair/lean on it, trying to tell you how to play the game that you’ve been playing for years, and he hasn’t played the game ever.
•He’d totally see something at like a store or something that wasn’t Genshin and go “Is this one of your genshin impacts?” along with a picture of a Hatsune Miku figurine or shirt. (He knows about every character and what it looks like because of you, he just likes to see the messages being like “NOO!!!! THATS HATSUNE MIKU!!!”)
•he totally has videos of genshin impact on his fyp and likes to inch over and show them to you, and he often asks what’s happening in the clip, and you excitedly tell him.
•literally the entire game is spoiled for him. Not like he plans to play it, but he loves listening to you yap about your favorite game.
•actually bans anyone who comments on how your cosplay looks in a sexual way. Doesn’t get a mod to do it, he finds the dude himself and BANS him.
•has to be extra careful near your setup, because if he like does his hand slam thing too hard one of your figures falls and you stare at him like “:c”
•You usually are closer to Kitty, so you and him have clips together of both of you saying “KITTYUH!!!!!” When she walks into the room.
•Off topic from this direct prompt but you force him to watch My Little Pony, but it’s not really forcing, he’s happy to watch it with you.
•He can hear the game through your headphones and a lot of the time, whips around because he heard the Lumine/Aether stretch audio, or a Venti Voiceline, or a Kaeya one.
•“HOW IS TWITCH ALLOWING THIS?!!??!?”
• “chat. Say another word about the cosplay, and I will end stream.”
Literally two seconds later.
“Alright. That’s the end of the stream. See you tomorrow.”
————————————————————————————
CaseOh silly, I love this guy!! I’m getting back into writing, so this might not be the best :)! Have a nice day or night!

Just watched the Tumblr Live QnA Panel, and here's some of my thoughts:
* Had to toggle on Tumblr Live to watch and agree to the terms.
The stream itself was a little low quality visually, not terrible, but either they used a low quality camera or streaming isn't up to the same quality as other sites like Tiktok
* the gifting feature that mimics Tiktok was obnoxious. Users that seem to use Tumblr Live a lot where using gifts very often. The gift icons would take up most of the screen covering chat.
Some people in chat suggested that the gifters were Staff plants to make the site seem more popular than it is. There is no way to verify if they are or are not. But these individuals talked in the chat about how they use Tumblr Live all the time, and some dont even have blogs they only use Live. Which is????
I don't like the gifting emojis. But i dont like them on Twitch or tiktok either, so shrug emoji, i guess
Questions Answered (that i remember)
* The Chronological Dashboard will stay. They mentioned this several times that tumblr, while they are going to improve the For You algorithm, the main Chronological Dashboard will not change.
* Tumblr Live apparently isn't blocked in Europe and is just waiting for approval, which is soon. They said it being blocked was misinformation. (Which i have no way to verify.)
* LGBTQA+ and specifically Trans content getting flagged or censored is a bug, apparently. They said it happens from time to time, but reporting should fix it. Users in the chat were unhappy with this answer since the issue has lasted for such a long time and doesn't seem or feel random. But they did not comment further.
* Tumblr posts being collapsable was not super addressed. They sort of skimmed over this question and just said that they try lots of new features to see what works and what doesn't. Apparently, there will be a toggle to turn this feature on or off.
* Tumblr Groups was addressed. It was shut down because not enough users used the feature.
Apparently, not many users use Tumblr Live either, but they want to keep working on it to make it appealing.
* Another bit about Tumblr Live. CEO essentially said they will not give the option to permanently toggle off the feature.
One user had asked if Tumblr had investors. CEO said, "Of course."
CEO did mention they "might" add a way to permanently turn off tumblr live. But it if they did, it would be a paid option over $20.
* One user commented that they are epileptic and that certain ads trigger their seizures because of the flashing colors and wanted to know what they would do for this issue. Tumblr CEO said "Well you could pay for No Ads."
CEO talked about paying to go ad free a lot. Saying only 25 thousand users pay for it at the moment.
Personally, it seems really irresponsible to suggest that the only way to fix an accessibility issue is for a user to pay money. As if disabled people dont have to pay enough as it is.
* I had asked if they were willing to work with more artists for Merch and Badges. They said they are working on it and there is a feature called Creatr that is set up to uplift creators and work with them on merch ideas.
I've never heard of Creatr. He seemed like we should have known what it was? Maybe they should promote that more. I know we all want more ways to support artists.
* More Badges and Achievements are coming. Apparently, a Legacy Badge that shows how long you've been on tumblr is in the works. (Im personally very excited about Badges.)
* Tumblr is thinking bout doing more QnA and even meet ups at different conventions and some even at the headquarters themselves. (They did not acknowledge questions that asked for a Headquarters video tour.)
Anyways, that was about all I can remember. Staff didn't record the panel, so hopefully, one of the other users did.
They talked about other random stuff. Calling out gifters specifically and rambling about donuts and books.
Oh, also, they brought a ball pit. Which is, yeah. Lol

About me!!
I'm Hannah (she/they). This is my Cult of the Lamb side blog; my main is @onethirdofimpossible and I also go by that username on AO3. I'm in my mid twenties and I'm from the US. If you're here, it's probably because you've read my fics, but I've written many fanfics for Cult of the Lamb. My works are typically focused on narilamb or the Bishop family, but I go all over the place: whether you like to read multichaps or oneshots, rated G or E, shippy or not, angst or fluff... there's probably something I've written that you'll enjoy! I'm best known as the author of The Risen Lamb and the Fallen God (the old version that I wrote back in 2022, and the new-and-improved "director's cut" version that is my current wip!) and The Care and Keeping of Baby Eldritch Gods.
A few other hobbies I have besides writing are cooking/baking, making plushies, digital art, and playing flute!
Despite being able to write pretty consistently, I'm a Ph.D. student in environmental science. If I haven't posted a fic update in a while, I'm probably preparing for a conference or getting into a fistfight with hydrostatic equilibrium or something.
Links
All my written works on AO3
Twitch, a recent endeavor of mine where I stream games and occasional art/writing!!
Fic playlist for The Risen Lamb and the Fallen God, with all songs in chronological order of what they refer to in the fic c:
I have a ko-fi but paypal is giving me shit so if you REALLY wanna b nice I have a Throne. I don't expect anything ever but if u get me something I'd die for you. and write more stuff while happier.
FAQ below the cut!
How long have you been writing?
I've been writing fanfiction since I was in sixth grade! I wrote what was basically a self-insert pokemon soulsilver fanfic, entirely by hand. It took up four full composition notebooks and then some. However, I've only been posting my writing publicly since 2016. Even after that, I had a nasty habit of making a sideblog for any fandoms I got really into, then deleting my blog and sometimes orphaning my works when I lost interest. I've since learned my lesson, though!
How long have you been drawing?
Ha, uh. I got a digital drawing tablet in May 2023, and started really drawing as a hobby for about... three months, and then the school year started again. Between then and June 2024 I drew like one or two things. So I've actually been practicing for only a few months. Constructive criticism on my art is welcome, especially as I learn!
May I send a fic/art request?
If my bio says they're open, you may, I think they're really fun! Depending on what does or doesn't inspire me, I won't take every single request, but I love requests because they give me excuses to try new things.
Do you write smut?
I've written a couple E-rated fics! My alternate pseud for fics of that caliber is remainderofreality. I don't write it very often, though.
What made you decide to start writing? What makes you decide to keep writing?
1. I had a creative bug I couldn't not itch. 2. Having creative hobbies and sticking to them has dramatically improved my life. I'm happier, I have so many friends it's connected me with, I get to see other people be inspired by things I make (?!), it keeps my mind active and playful, etc etc.
Do you have any suggestions for people looking to start writing?
Before you start worrying about the quality of your writing, the most important advice I can give you is to keep writing and have fun with it. Don't be afraid of being "cringe" or not getting the engagement numbers you're hoping for (in fact, it's better to not have any expectations about that at all!). Not everything you write is going to cater to everyone, and that's okay! But writing (especially fanfiction) is first and foremost for fun and even though it's difficult and you will struggle, it should be rewarding and fun. I've answered a few asks about writing advice and I can't find them all but here are the ones I can: 1 2 3 4
When do you expect to update your fic next?
Lmao god if I know but I'm working on my wips nearly every single day so I promise I haven't forgotten it. I'm a busy person! I'm a PhD student, teaching assistant, research assistant, and executive dysfunction haver.
Do you take commissions?
I don't, and I have no plans to as of now. I'm actually personally against writing fanfic for pay (copyright and ethical reasons), but for art I'm simply not experienced enough yet to be comfortable with that. However, I have TONS of friends who do take commissions so if you're looking for someone I can give you recs
May I draw fanart for you based on your fics?
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME I EXPLODE WITH JOY if you do please share it with me please please please. I will also likely ask for your permission to print it out and frame it (not a hyperbole, btw).

oh hey there... I'm gonna do a silly art stream this Friday at 11 am pst! what's so silly about it? Well, it's to celebrate getting to 100 followers on twitch! So... I'm going to draw 100 things on stream. I don't think they will be very detailed or especially 'quality', lol, but I think it will be fun.
Thing is I need to decide what exactly I will be drawing 100 of... sooo let's do a poll????

Oh my goodness! That anon talking about hazbin hotel merch made me realize that Hussie could have made bank if he just made a different Homestuck merch and make almost all the merch line ups limited edition pins. With my own personal experience I can say I’ve seen pins sell well, at times they can sell slow but people are willing to pay premium for them if they’re told “I only have 300 of these and I’m never making them again. When they are gone they are gone.”
Homestuck fans are still obsessed enough with Homestuck to want to buy plushies and pins. This is a self own but if you put some Jade merch in front of me that’s GOOD I’m going to snatch it up like a fish eatting a worm on a fishing line.
This honestly shows me Hussie is really incapable of looking at others successes and taking advice. Homestuck is a BRAND focused on CHARACTERS and it is niche but a content creator can take advantage of that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They used to have enamel pins and other unique items once upon a time on their old WhatPumpkin Store. However, they stopped producing it because the price for these pins as a set were overpriced and didn't sell enough. $15 fucking dollars for a pin set, even for the simpler smaller ones. Some were able to be reduced to $8 under ForFansByFans, but by then, Homestuck was near the end of its run and nobody cared enough to buy the merch. The Beta Kids one in the first pics were 8 dollars each and $30 if you buy all four. But even then, compared to ones like Helluva Boss or The Amazing Digital Circus, they are at least more reasonable with some having gimmicks (like the Lenticular or locket flip) or special shape designs that need better time to mold and painting. And Glitch Productions is even nice that some aren't that limited time only. But I have no idea if the sales would have been better if it was a limited time offer.
Tumblr media
Even for recent times, Hussie or James Roach could use something like this Makeship Campaign plush to sell either Homestuck or Hiveswap related characters, but they aren't doing that either. Not even for YouTooz and their quality for making stuff is cheap as shit. What doesn't help that in one of the ForFansByFans livestreams that used to be streamed on Twitch, they or WhatPumpkin, admitted they lost some of the data files for the merch. So things like outlines about how a plushie should look like or made, the 3D model shape and mold for the Homestuck figures, the images for the shirts/bags/calendars/etc, etc. Most of them had been fan-made, so it will be hard to try and contact the original artists for it. And ones for official like the Homestuck figures, they probably have moved on to greener pastures than to stick around with WhatPumpkin and/or lost file data too. Finally, there's also MOTIVATION that is needed to buy the merch. Homestuck at its state was in Gigapause or near end of its run by the time these merch stuff dropped even after the Kickstarter was funded. Maybe some got tired of waiting for the series to update. Maybe some are unhappy with how the story turned out by the end and didn't think they could support Homestuck because of that. Besides just being able to support small indie creators, does the series make people happy or special that it would give people the energy and effort to go out and buy the merch? Even if you love or hate something too, there should at least have some drive to get people to think about a series. For Homestuck, it's nothing but emptiness.

Hey everyone! Feel Less will be going on a short hiatus... but we're not going anywhere!
Allow me to explain~
So, I gave a similar explanation last time, but because I'll be introducing some new characters, I need some time to finish all the art. I thought I could do it last week, but the extra week I took only allowed me enough time to finish Anna's sprites and cutscene graphics from the latest update, which I hope you enjoyed~ but I have to be honest with myself, and admit that in order to finish everything I want I need to take way longer than just 1 extra week.
You see, things in Feel Less are about to get fuuuuuuuuuucked up real interesting! [REDACTED] isn't the only character that's getting introduced you know~ The Some Things Are Better Left Unknown story route includes at least 3 other characters that could potentially join the party! And they're not gonna draw themselves lmao. Besides the new characters, there's also some very important story beats that are coming, which will also require original art. I could of course do everything with the sprites and backgrounds, but that'd be sacrificing some of the quality of the comic, and I don't want the story to suffer just to get it out on a self-imposed deadline, you know? This is not to mention the backgrounds needed for the new locations so... yikes! This is definitely gonna take longer than a week! Especially because I have a job besides posting comics online (sadly, I wish I could just do this full time aslkdmakldmml 😭)
Another important thing to note is that we'll be disabling player interaction for a bit, at least until all the important story points have been covered, which I think should be the next 3 updates.
Now, what do I mean by "we're not going anywhere"? Well, because this blog won't be going radio silent until everything's done, like I used to do in the past! I'll be streaming most of my art process on my twitch channel! I usually play games on there, but I'm going on an Art Stream Marathon until all the art for Feel Less has been completed! (I really, really want to prioritize this. Neon White can wait.) For those of you who don't know, I stream every Thursday and Saturday from 2:30 pm EST, to around 5:30pm. I'll be posting links to the streams on this blog every day I do them, so come say hi! 💖 There will be slight spoilers for character designs, but not plot points, so dw~
I want to close by saying that, to be completely honest, I never enjoy putting my works on hiatus. Keeping momentum going on a webcomic is difficult, but I have to make sure Feel Less is 100% something I can be proud of and not a rushed product. There's some cool stuff coming, and I want it to have the impact it deserves.
As always, thank you all so much for your support! The fact that you guys take the time to read my webcomic makes me so happy~~ 🥰 Also, important to mention that while the story's on hiatus the inbox will be wide open! So feel free to send questions and stuff, I'll still be here~ See you all soon!!!

Hi! I was watching your stream the other day (didn't have a Twitch account so I didn't talk about it at the time) but your Pride Polyhedron has me captivated and hasn't left my mind since... Is there any possibility of uploading her online? Thanks for your time!
aw thankyou! I have a couple variants of this, but it's only one texture affecting a single part of the Polyhedron and all versions aren't really up to my quality standards, so I've never published it as a formal mod & don't plan to until maybe next pride month...
Fortunately now that we know that P1 can load unconverted .png files it's a lot easier to distribute small texture mods. I've uploaded three versions of Gay Polyhedron here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Badcore this was my answer to the question "what if I made gay polyhedron... but bad", using GIMP builtin image filters on image #2. it's the version I used in the last stream because I forgot to change it and it's bad!
Normal the original I've carried around since my first days of playing patho on a borrowed macbook :-) each facet of the polyhedron is a different color. it has a couple spots where the colors don't line up perfectly with the angles, which I've just never gotten around to fixing due 2 working on larger and cooler projects
Goodcore this was a failed attempt at making the gay polyhedron look bad it looks GOOD it's very pretty it's the version I have installed in my copy of PCHD. there are a couple transparent pixels that appear black in-game but that's not even a problem honestly
To install any of these, save an image, put it in your (Pathologic)\data\Textures folder, and rename the file to mgg_razv_011_DXT1.tex without converting it at all (you'll likely need to use Command Prompt's "rename", or Bash's "mv", etc, to change the extension). then launching the game should cause the new tex to appear

in which I talk about Sapnap streaming on Kick...
Tumblr media
Because of stuff like this. Fiona is an amazing content creator. Former Achievement Hunter at Rooster Teeth, G4 Programing and has had several independent productions under her belt. But she isn't good enough. Just because you are a PoC, LGBTQ+ and female does not mean you will have a better chance on Twitch. So what does this have to do with Sapnap?
Tumblr media
He did talk to the CEO about his concerns. He had stipulations. He cut a deal. He had made Kick install guidelines that can make it better for his community. A real competitor for Twitch instead of the shittier alternative. Just imagine if Kick becomes viable. All the Twitch streamers are going to look at their contracts and reconsider. That they get the 30% of the revenue they work for. That they have to beg for subs AND run ads AND ask for donos too instead of just streaming content people want to see. Like, how many people were on board when JustinTV was a thing. Bit of a free-for-all in content. It was no different than Kick. So we are in a situation in which a new platform has come in as a challenger. If they too want the quality of creators that Twitch has, they will evolve to make that space. to whatever benefits them the most. As to the attack on Sapnap personally, that he should ask Dream what to do or that because he is a cis white male, he doesn't care that his community will be uncomfortable there. Come off it. Really?
People still sleep on Sapnap and treat him poorly: Calling him a 3rd wheel to DNF and saying he can't do anything without Dream's help.
Sapnap has actually accomplished more ON HIS OWN, as a content creator, than Dream or George. Certainly has streamed more. He is more of a variety streamer. He is the one that is a co-owner at NRG. He still codes his MC videos. He just broke the record for the fastest checkmate in the POGchanps tournament. He is currently tied for his MCC wins. Squidcraft 2 Champion. Plays violin and had top grades in school…
And It pisses me off that people just don't see him, unless its in relation to what Dream and George are doing. He's a grown man making a business deal. He got them to change their ToS, IN ONE DAY! Cause he knows his community wants a safe space. If he wants to instill that change. I wish him luck.

I miss IRL streaming. I’m gonna put this rig back to use next week while I have a visitor in town. In my experience, IRL streaming doesn’t have to look bad on a phone. Here’s some nerd shit about IRL streaming and why I have my setup the way that I do.
The standard for IRL these days is a LiveU encoder with a few 4G/5G modems connected to it. The benefit of this setup is not only using multiple connections, but it allows you to max out the quality of the camera you use for IRL. It allows you to use anything from a GoPro to a DSLR / Mirrorless camera for IRL. The liveU takes that camera’s HDMI or SDI output and sends it over the connections of the modems to a destination: typically a server somewhere that is running streaming software like you would at home to stream on Twitch or YouTube. Using this server (IRLToolkit for example) adds the benefit of automatically switching scenes to a "be right back" scene if your internet connection ever dips on the go. While this is the "standard" for IRL, the barrier for entry is pretty steep. The LiveU alone will run you $1k new, maybe $700-$800 used. Then, for it to be even worth the investment, you'd want to bridge at least two modem's connections which can be anywhere north of $40 a month per modem. That intermediate server will also run you a decent amount of money per month. I haven't sworn off the idea of adopting this standard some time in the future but for now, I am running a setup on a phone that has admittedly gotten to the point where I should have just done so ages ago. I use my iPhone 12 pro max for IRL, but on that phone I use an app called Prism to stream to IRLToolkit (just like the big boys do) over RTMP, rather than just streaming directly to twitch from, say, the streamlabs app. The video quality on an iPhone 13 pro max holds up to that of a high quality camera, as long as the right software and tinkering is behind it. The audio codec and noise cancellation on Prism do a good job with keeping the audio crisp, but I've recently made the addition of DJI's new lav mic system. I have yet to test this live, but I have used it just in the iPhone's camera app and it sounds great. Then, there is the gimbal. I am currently running the DJI osmo moblie 5. A lightweight stabilizer is something that even those running the LiveU setup don't have. On the left, I have an old pixel 3 running chat, alerts, and the IRLToolkit dashboard all at the same time. Since this requires very little data, this is doable just with a pay-as-you-go SIM card. Lastly, the box jutting off on the left is a LumeCube that is mounted in a cold shoe mounting block. This is just a small LED panel that I can spin away or toward me to keep my subject lit. Not pictured: I've got a JBL clip speaker to strap to my chest, which runs alerts and TTS (which I get in trouble for in public all the time. Shoutout to the guy who played a TTS out loud while I was in the security line at TwitchCon Amsterdam saying I volunteered for a cavity search). All said and done, the Gimbal costs $140, the extra phone plan costs maybe $30 a month depending on usage. The (unnecessary) mic system is $300. I do have a discount on the intermediate server with IRLToolkit because I know the guy who runs it (sue me - it's normally $120 a month and I won't say what I pay). You could run this same setup on the Prism app to stream directly to Twitch or YouTube, so the intermediate server service can be avoided (at the cost of your stream possibly going down when you lose connection). The upfront cost is really low and the ongoing cost is also relatively low. For someone that wants a better-than-average IRL setup, I think that going down a route like this or similar is something people should explore. It requires the least amount of knowledge for a relatively low amount of money. If you want to watch this stuff in action, as well as my studio space where I run my own twitch production full time - I'm live at http://www.twitch.tv/hamncheddar ched.tv for other socials

((Aight I'mma just toss this down here. For the stream idea. I'm not doing this for big views, I'm not doing this for revenue. I just... wanna play some games. Maybe have a few folks join in eventually if they're feeling up to it. So. A question.
YouTube - Easy to get in and out of, just about everyone has some form of Google account these days and can easily comment at their leisure, and if I really wanted to I could save the VODs to my channel.
Twitch - Many of the same benefits as YouTube, but while its userbase is a bit more volatile, it does have better quality options. Also a bit harder to make sure VODs stay put, but still a good option.
Discord - I'd make and stream on my own personal Discord server with far less latency and a dedicated text chat for folks who want to stay muted. But it also allows folks to chat in VC if they'd like. However, quality issues can be common on Discord and it WOULD require you join the server.))
