I watch as she laughs at something Ron said the way her hands rub up and down his bicep. I grumbled and took another swig of my butterbeer already feeling some of the buzz “slow down there Y/N we do have work tomorrow” Harry says I roll my eyes but smile as his concern “I'll be fine Harry” I say not breaking contact from Ron and Hermione, Harry follows my gaze “you know instead of staring daggers at Ron you could just confess your feelings for her” I laugh “oh Harry I could never do that look at them she still as a thing for him” I say and sigh looking away “she doesn't she told me she wouldn't date him if it meant she could be the most powerful wizard alive” I smile “even then i can't ruin the friendship i mean we are roommates where would I live” “Hermione would never kick you out and if she does you always have a room in my home” Harry says and walks away. I sigh and order another butterbeer and make my way towards Ron and Hermione.
“Y/N settle this debate will you debate whos hotter the girl in the red dress or the girl in the black dress” Ron says clearly tipsy, I tap my chin and fake think “black dress for sure” I say “that's right see Mione, well i'll leave you girls im going to go get laid” he says walking to the girl with the black dress. “Such and intelectual debate you guys had there” I joke Hermione laugh “yea you know ron thinks with his dick” we laugh and I take a sip oof my beer and i catch a glimpse of Hermione through the now clear glass and she blew me a kiss, I choke and cough “are you ok Y/N'' she says fully concern for me “um yea I thought I saw something thats all but im fine” I smile, did she really blow me a kiss no she couldn't have right. We spent the rest of the night drinking and dancing.
Around 2 in the morning we parted ways and Hermione and I took a cab. When we got to our apartment we went to her room to talk, “did you see how drunk Ron got it was hilarious and when he started to dance on the tables I so thought we were going to get kicked out” Hermione says laughing I smile but roll my eyes when she’s not looking. I grab a pillow and sit on the floor while she goes to the bathroom to brush her teeth as she keeps talking my mine starts to daydream, and in it me and Hermione are making out and my hands are roaming her curves and she starts to kiss my jaw and lowers to my neck nipping and sucking, next thing I hear her calling my name but it sounds far away, I slowly open my eyes and see I’m know laying on the floor making out with the pillow and Hermione is looking at me confused I laughed it off and did some push up “just staying in shape you know” she shakes her head and finishes in the bathroom, and I go to my bedroom.
The next day it was our day off so we went to a small café near our apartment. After we ate we went our separate ways with me going home. At night Hermione came back “Y/N I’m home want to watch a movie I heard of this one new movie it’s supposed to be so hot” I walk to the living room and smile “sure put it on I’ll make some popcorn” I go make the popcorn and when I go to the couch the movie as just started “what’s it about” “about to girls that realize there lesbians and love each other” I inhale deeply a blush creeping up my cheeks. Half way through the movies the girls start making out and undressing I look over to Hermione and she’s already looking at me with a smile I quickly look away return to the movie, Hermione moves closer to me and gets under my blanket “just a little cold” she says my blush gets darker but I say nothing just nodding. When the girls in the movie start to get more Into it I again look over at Hermione and she again was looking at me, and it’s as if time stopped as she leaned towards me and kisses me.
I’m in shook at first, my best friend just made the first move she kissed me “I’m sorry I shouldn’t have done that I don’t know what came over me” she says pulling away but I pull her back and kiss with all the passion in my body “it’s ok” I say resting my four head against her, she smiles and we get into a heated make out. Hermione started kissing down my neck and sucking and nipping there leaving behind love bites that I would wear with pride tomorrow. She went lower pushing up my shirt and I take it off, she pulls my bras down and tits bounce from there release . Hermione licks and nibbles on my nipple and I arch my back and moan from the pleasure she switches to the left one and repeats it untold my nipple pebbles, once she gets the reaction she wanted she goes lower and removes my panties “wow your so wet baby” I moan “all for you only you” I say lifting my hips to get her to touch me where I need it most. Hermione slaps my thigh causing me to whimper “don't rush I’ll touch you” she says and takes one of fingers from my pussy to my clit circling it, she lowers herself and takes my clit in her mouth sucking and licking at it. I rake my fingers through her hair and pull her closer “oh mione that feels amazing dont stop” she moans moving her tongue faster she brings one of her hands up and plunges two fingers in me curling them hitting that delicious spot.
I throw my head back arching my back from the pleasure as I close my eyes, I see stars from all the pleasure. Hermione thrust her fingers faster shaking her head spreading my wetness all over her face, she messages my g-spot and I let out a silent scream cumming all over her face and fingers she continues kitten licking my clit, extending my organs and I have to push her away from over stimulation. “Let’s go to my room” she says after I caught my breath I kiss her deeply tasting myself and pull her towards her room, when we get in I say “let me return the favor” and push her on the bed straddling her wait. I remove her shirt and see that she’s bra less I smirk taking one of her pebbled nipples in my mouth nipping and sucking it Hermione pulls my hair and I groan moving to her other nipple. Before I continue my journey I suck two love bites on each breast, I then start kissing down her body leaving kisses as I go. When I reach my destination I put her legs over my shoulders and take her clit in my mouth licking and sucking on it, I go to her opening and lick up all her juices and moan at her taste, Hermione pushes my face deeper in her pussy and I bring one of my hands up plunging two fingers and curling them and messaging her g-spot. She moans and arches her back shoving her pussy closer to my face I go back to her clit nip at it gently and suck it to sooth it I continue that rhythm thrusting my fingers faster and faster and Hermione cums all over my face with a loud moan. When I pull away I look at her in her post orgasm glow and climb over her to kiss her hitting her lower lip and our tongue fight for dominance with Hermione winning, a minute later we pull away gasping “give me a second let me get something” she says pushing me aside I lay on the bed and watch her go to her dresser and pull something out that I couldn’t see at first but when she turned around I saw it was a double ended dildo. I bite my lip and sit up “when did you get that” I ask “um about a month ago. I’ve been throwing hints at you but you missed all of them” she says laughing I blush and look away “you should have said something” “well it doesn't matter now does it we’re here now” she says getting on the bed pushing me to lay down.
Hermione rubs the dildo through tummy folds and then slowly pushes it in my pussy, I let out a small moan and then she places the other end in her and climbs me like we are about to scissor each other. Once our pussies were touching we started to grind onto each other, our clits rubbing against each other to add to exquisite pleasure, I throw my head back and moan her name “move faster please” I moan out and she does and grounds harder into me. We bring our hands and rub each other clits and we start panting “I’m so close” we say together we rub our clits faster and through our head back as cum on the dildo and I feel our liquids dripping down my folds and ass.
After a minute Hermione slowly gets off the dildo and pulls it out of me I whine and flop down on the bed. She throws the dildo at the end of the bed and lays down next to me “ I love” she says I gasp and smile “I love you to” I say and kiss her deeply and we fall asleep holding each other.

Music professor!Eddie Munson and English professor!reader
Warnings: Fluff, sexual tension, future smut in this AU!
Eddie had a successful career as a touring and session musician, playing guitar for amazing artists and for his own band. But somewhere along the way he lost the words. Lyrics don’t come easy to him anymore. He used to fill pages and pages with his thoughts and ideas and feelings. Cheeky little ditties and heartfelt anecdotes. But these days it’s just melody and nothing else. He’s a wizard on guitar but only under someone else’s words.
His prolific career led to a steady fall gig teaching as a lecturer at a prestigious college known for its music program (they didn’t care about the fact that he’d barely finished high school since he’d preformed on Grammy winning tracks). And it turns out that his office is housed right next to the brick building containing the English department.
Which is how he met you.
Sweet. Studious. Buttoned up you. Plaid and tweed and stockinged and woolen and soft and warm you. You became unlikely friends when you’d both reached for the last muffin in the little coffee shop nestled between your buildings. Conversation flowed easily, in spite of your differing aesthetics, and as the weeks flew by that first fall, you and Eddie became fast friends with a regular set time to catch up over coffee and one of those coveted muffins.
Eddie spends his springs in studios doing session recordings, but eventually you cajole him into teaching summer courses. Selfish as you are to have him with you for two seasons of the year. Little do you know that he’s selfish in his desire to see you in less layers in the warm months, sweaters traded for tasteful but lower cut blouses, structured skirts and tights traded for shorter, flowy material and skin.
It’s on your third fall semester together that Eddie happens upon your notebook, however. You’d both spent a lunch break together in companionable silence, chewing and working on your own paperwork. You come back from washing up to find Eddie flipping through the notebook you’d left open on the table. He looks up at you with wide eyes.
“You’re so fucking talented, you know that?”
You scramble forward and grab the notebook from him, slamming it shut and holding it against your chest protectively.
“Eddie! You can’t read other people’s writing without asking!” you huff. Ruffled.
“Well then can I read it, please?” Eddie asks. He holds his hand out to get you to hand it back. You shake your head.
“No!”
Eddie pouts at you as you regain your seat across from him.
“That’s some deep shit you have in there,” he says gravely. You roll your eyes.
“Eloquent, Munson.”
“Hey, look. Never said I was,” Eddie says with a roguish wink that’s got you hotter under the collar than you’d like to admit. “Haven’t been able to write in years. A decade even.”
“I don’t believe that,” you snort.
“Why not?”
“Because you’re a storyteller. A tale weaver. A blowhard,” you tease, sliding the tip of your finger around the rim of your mug. Eddie watches your finger's trajectory for a minute before speaking up again.
"We should team up."
"I'm sorry?" you ask, certain you've heard him wrong.
"Your words. My music."
"What are you talking about?" you ask, completely flustered at the very proposition even though he hasn't explained himself at all yet.
"You do lyrics, I do melody. We could kill it, babe!" His grin is massive and your heart constricts. He often calls you by pet names, but this time it makes you feel light headed. You throw your notebook and things into your bag.
"You've finally lost it, Munson," you say, light and dismissive, getting up from the table. "You're out of your mind."
Eddie is quick to follow you out of the cafe.
"This is the clearest I've been thinking in years!" he insists, grabbing your elbow before you can dash off to your own building. He whirls you back to him and you catch your balance by gripping his bicep. His rather large bicep...
"This is what I've been waiting for. Inspiration. Guidance. A muse!"
Eddie's eyes are so wide and his smile is so hopeful that you feel your stomach flip.
"Eddie, I have no background in music. I don't write songs!"
"But you write poetry - it's the same thing!"
You huff and look around wildly as if some kind of excuse or escape will materialize out of thin air and get you out of this uncomfortable situation. Instead, all you see is the lanky, expectant frame of Eddie Munson.
"You know for a fact that lyricism is poetic, so I'm not even going to dignify that excuse with any further arguments," Eddie says. His smile is wide enough to indicate that he knows he's won. He knows he's got you.
Suddenly his big hands are gripping your wrists and pulling your hands to rest on his chest.
"Help me. Do you need me to beg? I'll beg, sweetheart, I have no dignity," he moans playfully. All of your nerve endings alight at the sound and your imagination immediately runs wild at the thought of what else he could moan with those pretty lips. You squash those thoughts as quickly as you can and nod in the process of dislodging the inappropriate thoughts in your head, which Eddie takes as an affirmative to his begging. "You'll do it?! You're fucking perfect, you know that?"
Before you can correct his misunderstanding, Eddie kisses you hard on the cheek. The motion is wet and smacking and it shakes you to your very core. His hand cradles you at your waist and for a second your bodies are pressed flush together. Your entire being vibrates at the feeling of Eddie Munson against you and it seems like time stands still.
But then he's pulling away, taking his warmth and his steadiness with him.
"You won't regret this, sweetheart. We're going to make the best team ever, just you wait!"
And with that, Eddie bounds off in the direction of the music building, leaving you with only a foggy comprehension of what you've supposedly just agreed to and with the memory of the feeling of his body against yours.
What have you gotten yourself into.

Chapter Eight - The Astronomy Tower
You made a pact that night to see each other more. The two of you made an agreement that twice a week you would meet in the Astronomy tower, and for the last two weeks you had been doing just that. One night he bought his set of wizard chess, and you learnt that Draco's competitiveness was off the charts, so much so he got in a strop each time you won. Another night he helped you with your History of Magic essay and you bonded over how much of a bore professor Binns was. Draco was good with words when it came to writing them, which uncovered something else about him: he could write what he couldn't say. He'd spent so long accepting others' opinions and forcing them to be his own that he'd lost the ability to speak how he feels, but in writing, he could go on and on about anything he was passionate about. You suggested to him that if he didn't know how to say it, then he should write it down for you, and that way you could understand him more. It took a day or so, but he came back with a written note that said 'I think that's a good idea'.
By the fourth week of term, you were getting along better than ever. Draco would pass you notes after classes, asking if you wanted to meet earlier or if you were free an extra day. He found it a lot easier than asking you outright, and you'd come to love his little notes. Hermione still hadn't said a thing, even though at this point she had most definitely seen him passing pieces of paper to you. It wasn't until later that week, on the Thursday, the same night you were going up to the Astronomy tower, that she said something.
"You seem to get along with Malfoy these days."
You stopped mid-sentence of your book, glancing across the bed at her. She was busy reading her own book on the end of your bed, something you did together often. The silence you shared whilst reading was something that marked your friendship, as it was never awkward. If anything, it was peaceful.
"What do you mean?" you play dumb, and she sighs, slotting her bookmark between the pages.
"I've seen how he is with you," she raises an eyebrow, "passing notes, hugging, what's going on? Are you seeing each other?"
"Huh?" you sound, eyes widening and chest tightening, "no, not at all, we're just friends. We sort of got along during the potions project and he stuck around."
She gives you a knowing look, a small, cheeky smile on her face.
"He just, stuck around, did he?" she presses playfully, "doesn't sound much like Malfoy."
You feel your cheeks getting hotter, shutting your book without marking the page because Hermione was looking at you with such a mischievous glint in her eye, and sat up straight.
"Draco and I are just friends," you state simply, but you're rambling, and she notices how you're more so telling yourself than you are her, "he's trying to change, and I can appreciate that, and I enjoy spending time with him, and I think, or more so, hope, he likes spending time with me, too."
Hermione can't hold it anymore. She laughs breathlessly at your flustered expression, and even more so when you glare at her. You allow her to get over whatever is so amusing, and then cross your arms in frustration.
"What's so funny?"
"Nothing," she says, wiping a tear from her eye, "I've just never seen you so bothered about a boy before, and it's Malfoy, I just never imagined."
"I am not bothered," you protest, "the time we spend together is strictly platonic."
"If you say so," she waves her hands, "but even if it wasn't, it wouldn't matter, you know."
She offers you a reassuring smile, one that says she's not one bit fussed about it, and that you should just be open and honest, because she's your friend, and she loves you. You calm down a bit, the thudding of your heart slowing and shoulders relaxing. If you were to be honest, you didn't know how you felt about it. It had all happened so fast, and now you were spending frequent time with one another, and it was fun. You looked forward to it, to seeing him, but your feelings were indecipherable and mixed up. All you knew is that you liked being with him.
"Sometimes I feel nervous around him," you admit, "and then other times I feel really comfortable. I don't know what to think at this point."
"Does it really matter?" she questions, "he's just a guy. I mean yeah, he's Malfoy, but I can imagine he has some desirable qualities."
"He has many," you find yourself saying, and her smile grows wider, "he's actually really clever, and sensitive, and I've learnt so much about him and I'm talking too much aren't I?"
Hermione giggles, and shuffles across the bed to sit next to you.
"You want to know what I think?" she asks, and you nod, "I think you should just enjoy whatever you have right now. There's nothing that says you need to make it more than what it is, so just relax. I think we all deserve to have some fun, don't you?"
A smile curls at your lips, and you laugh, dropping your head to her shoulder.
"Merlin, what has the world come to." You mutter, and she chuckles.
"If you had said that over Christmas, you'd be playing buddies with Malfoy I wouldn't have believed you," she jokes, "but seriously, do what makes you happy. Kiss him for all I care."
"Kiss him?" you repeated loudly, shooting up like a deer in the headlights, "are you serious?"
She laughs even harder.
"I'm not saying you have to," she says through her laughter, "I was kidding."
You join in, both of you now belly laughing and holding hands. Hermione truly was an expectational friend, and in that moment, you thanked your lucky stars that she was still around to keep you sane.
__________________________
"That one right there is the Ursa Major, but most people call it the Big Dipper," Draco tells you, bottle of beer in his hand as the other points towards the sky, "and that one is mine. Draco, which just means Dragon in Latin."
You're looking where he's pointing, but you're also looking at him, because he's so passionate about the stars that it warms your heart. After Hermione left, you carried a blanket up to the Astronomy tower, and as if he'd read your mind, he bought along beer and snacks. Three beers in he'd started talking about how much he loves astrology, and for the last half an hour or so he'd been showing you the constellations in the sky tonight. It wasn't a usual thing for Draco to share his interests with someone, but you always displayed so much enthusiasm, even if you didn't understand it. He really liked that about you, it made him want to show you things. So, there you both sat, blanket over your laps as you listened and sipped beer.
"I never clocked you were named after a constellation," you said, and he looks down at you curled under your side of the blanket, "that's so cool."
"You think?" he asks, "my mother's side of the family have a tradition with names like mine. My aunt Bella was named after a star, and my mother's name Narcissa is from Greek mythology."
"How interesting," you breathe, and you meant it, he could tell, "I love that your mother kept that tradition going. Do you think you will when you have children?"
He goes quiet for a moment and looks back at the sky, knitting his eyebrows together.
"I haven't really thought about it," he mumbles.
"Children and marriage are far away," you tell him, shuffling under the blanket, "so it's not like you need to think about it right now."
He laughs sadly, and you give him a questioning look.
"Mother is rather fixated on marriage," he said, "so I don't have any choice but to think about it, unfortunately."
"She wants you to get married?"
"As soon as possible," he sighs deeply, "she keeps introducing me to these random girls, and each of them have as much personality as I can fit in my little finger."
You go back to looking out into the night, fiddling with the label on your bottle. Your parents had never pushed you to meet someone, or marry them, for that matter, so you couldn't imagine having that kind of pressure. Then you start thinking how beautiful these girls probably are, and what he said to you back at the manor starts playing on your mind. Too bookish, he said. If he turns down women his mother picks for him, then he was possibly being nice when he said that to you.
"What kind of girl do you want?" you find yourself asking him. He turns a little to face you properly.
"Why do you ask?"
"You say these girls your mother picks have no personality," you gesture with your free hand, "so, if they don't fit the bill, who would?"
Draco takes his time to answer. His eyes flicker over your face, and his expression tells you he's thinking hard about that question. You gaze back at his sharp features and glistening eyes, such a strikingly blue-grey colour, and think how beautiful this boy really is. He's tall, slim but well built, with blonde hair and a handsome face. He's smart, and when he knows you well enough, his emotional intelligence shines. Maybe you did like him, a little bit more than you could stomach.
"I don't really know," he begins to say, still looking directly at you, and it's starting to make you feel nervous, "I've only been with girls I find physically attractive."
You blink and raise your eyebrows at him, giving him a scrutinising look. Like his mother does.
"What?"
"Does that sound bad?" he grimaces. Not knowing what else to say, you laugh.
"Draco," you say, "are you telling me you've only ever gone on looks?"
"I haven't cared about anything else," he shrugs, and he's being deadly serious, "personality wasn't exactly needed for what we were doing-"
"Okay," you stop him, holding your hand up, "stop right there, Malfoy. I do not want to hear about that area of your life, thank you."
For a moment you both just look at each other, and then burst out laughing. He's genuinely laughing as well, hand on his stomach and head against the wall behind you. As you calm down, you look across at him and it makes you feel so good to see him like this. Carefree, relaxed, happy. He's so pretty when he laughs, too.
"I like it when you laugh," you say out loud, and his laughter comes to a holt, as the mortifying realisation comes that you just said that to him. You wave a dismissive hand and look away from him, "that was weird, I'm sorry."
"It wasn't weird," he says, in such a nice way that it makes you feel even worse, and then he's shuffling on the spot and clearing his throat, "I, uh, like it when you laugh too."
You look at him from the corner of your eye and see that he's ripping the label from the bottle and keeping his eyes firmly on what he was doing. Is he blushing? You couldn't really tell with the lighting, but he suddenly seems inside himself. You tuck some hair behind your ear.
"Hey, Draco," you say, and he glances up at you, "I'm glad were hanging out together."
His cheeks are certainly deeper in colour, and he doesn't know where to look or what to do with his hands or any of him really. He just runs a hand through his hair and ruffles it slightly.
"Same here," he mutters, looking towards the ground, "I feel better with you around."
That makes you grin like an idiot. You like him. Oh Christ, you like him.
"It's so strange to think that a few weeks ago we were bickering like siblings," you say, smiling at him. He smiles back, moving a little closer, and you automatically lean against his arm.
"You know at the weekend," he said quietly, "do you want to go out in Hogsmeade?"
For a second you think he's asking you on a date, and your mind starts racing, until he says, "just go and get a beer or something, you know, as friends?"
Friends. What did that even mean? Here you were, huddled under a blanket in the Astronomy tower. Is that what friends do? He had no idea. Truth was, Draco had never liked a girl enough to date them. He didn't even know what a crush felt like, but he knew that you made him feel good, and that he thought you were attractive, with a wicked sense of humour and a kind, compassionate heart. Is that a crush? How would he even know? So many questions flooded his head, but he never said a word. But then you smile and say, "sure, that sounds lovely," and he can't help but feel absolutely elated.
"I'll pick you up outside your dorm, around seven like usual?" he asks.
"Seven is good," you agree, and he's doing that thing again when his eyes travel the expanse of your face and then back to meet yours. You narrow your eyes, "you always do that."
"Do what?"
"Look at me like that," you softly, "as if you're memorising how I look."
"Maybe I am," he mutters. Was that a confession? Is that what he's doing? It is what he's doing, but did he really want you to know that? He just thinks you're pretty, is that not what you do when you think someone is pretty? He starts spiralling, and you can see it in his eyes, "forget I said that. I have alcohol in me right now."
"Right," you breathe, taking your eyes off him, "of course."
"Wait, that was a shitty thing to say," he rushes out, fumbling to make it right, "I'm just kind of drunk."
"It's fine," you wave a dismissive hand, "don't worry about it."
"No," he says passionately, and your head snaps in his direction, "it's not fine, because I didn't mean it like that. You're beautiful, and you should know that. Inside and out."
It fell silent, but it was possibly the loudest silence you'd ever heard. He's breathing heavily from how frustrated he'd just gotten, and your head is spinning and heart thundering against your ribcage.
"What did you just say?"
"You heard me," he mumbles, staring at the ground, "don't make me repeat it."
"So I'm beautiful but too bookish?"
"Just forget about that, alright?" he snaps quietly, "I was just being dumb. You're not bookish, you're really fucking smart. There's a difference."
The smile on your face gets so big that your cheeks start to hurt, and you lean against his shoulder and nuzzle closer to him. He doesn't go stiff like he usually does, in fact he seems to melt into it, resting his head on top of yours.
"Thank you for that," you whisper to him.
He just huffs.
"Don't get used to it," he whispers back, but you know he's just feeling bruised because he outed some real feelings to you. You think it's sweet, how irritable he is when things get serious. After a while, you reach over and take his hand, lacing your fingers with his like you had done before. He doesn't stop you; he welcomes it. You sink deeper into him, sighing in contentment. Whatever this relationship of yours was, it was turning into something beautifully vulnerable. __________________________
When Friday evening rolls around, Draco's last class seemed to run on forever. He doesn't share this one with you, unfortunately. Retaking Divination felt like a good idea when choosing his subjects, but he was quickly coming to realise that Trelawney really is just a daft old bat as he packs up his things and leaves. He wishes he had your company to look forward to, but tonight is your study date with Granger. Typical that it was her taking your time away from him. He trudges back to his dorm, ready to sink into bed and forget the world for a while, when he hears the familiar tone of Professor McGonagall calling him down the corridor.
"Mr Malfoy," her voice rings out, and he turns to see her walking towards him, "I take it you have a few moments to spare?"
"I suppose so, professor," he answers, "what can I do for you?"
"Well, not so much me," she says, looking down her nose at him, "your mother is currently in my office and wishes to speak with you."
Mother. His mind starts racing. What could she possibly want during a school term? She never bothers him usually, only the odd letter. McGonagall could see he was beginning to worry, and she offered a comforting smile.
"I'm sure it's nothing serious," she said softly, "the sooner you see her, the sooner you can get back to your plans for this evening."
He nods in agreement, and begins to follow McGonagall to her office, previously the office of Professor Dumbledore. It's a long walk from where he was, but with all the panicked thinking he was doing it went by rather fast. McGonagall mutters the password, and the stairs begin to curl around to mighty stone eagle. He follows her up the steps, and she waves her wand to open the grand door to the headmistress's office. Draco enters cautiously, Narcissa turning to see him, smiling as he walks to stand a good distance away from her. She's holding a pair of leather gloves in her hand, a small black handbag on her arm. As always, she's dressed in high fashion, with bold red lipstick and her hair in a tight bun.
"Mother," he greets her.
"I shall leave you both in peace," McGonagall says promptly, "take all the time that you need."
She then exits, the large door shutting behind her with a thud.
"Draco," Narcissa says, "how nice to see you, my dear."
"Why are you here?" he asks outright, and Narcissa's smile begins to falter.
"Not the nicest way to greet your mother, Draco," she comments, walking to close the gap slightly between them. He's eyeing her cautiously, "I'm here to pass on some news."
"Such as?"
"I have an outing planned for you," her smile returns, "Your father and I had the pleasure of dining with the Greengrass family last weekend, and Astoria's mother is keen on you. So, I took the liberty in sorting a private luncheon in Hogsmeade this Sunday."
"For our families?" he knits his eyebrows together and gets a funny feeling in his stomach when his mother shakes her head.
"Just the two of you," Narcissa said, "you should try to get to know her better, Draco."
"I've already told you, mother," Draco stresses, "I don't have any desire to know her that way."
"That is beside the point, Draco," his mother says sternly, "she is a good fit for you, and you should be thankful that such a prestigious family has interest, especially since-"
"Our family name is ruined?"
Narcissa takes a sharp intake of breath, mortified at her son's outburst. Her expression becomes one of fury, and she takes an intimidating step towards him.
"Now, you listen to me," she says threateningly, her voice low and scarily calm, "if you ever speak to me like that again, I will pull you out of this school and marry you off to the next woman I lay my eyes on, are we clear?"
Draco gulps. He wasn't exactly scared of his mother, not like he was his father, but he knew as well anybody, that Narcissa meant what she said.
"Yes, mother," he mutters. Narcissa smiles at him again.
"Good, I don't wish to fight with you, my dear," her voice changes, now soft and light, "we only want the absolute best for you, and we believe finding a suitable wife will benefit in the future. Now, be a darling and attend this lunch for me. Can you do that, Draco?"
He nods, wordlessly accepting it, and his mother places a kiss to his cheek before slipping on her gloves. The only thing he feels right now is a blistering anger.
"I'll owl over the details," she goes on to say, making her way towards the door McGonagall left through, "and make sure to wear something nice, alright?"

Further Research Required
Temperance explains an embarrassing aspect of tiefling body language to Gale. He immediately decides the topic requires further study of the hands on variety.
*This is smut. If you know me, no you don't. In fact, if you happen to know me, this post is blank. Shoo.
“What does it mean when your tail lifts up into an ‘s’ shape like this? I have been meaning to ask but it slipped my mind until now, what with everything we’ve had to handle just lately.”
And then Gale demonstrably ran a finger down the length of her tail. Startling her nearly out of her skin – not to mention the pleasant daydream that had stolen her concentration. It also made her squeak.
Temperance wasn’t the type to squeak. And yet there really wasn’t any other word for the sound that escaped her throat.
She looked over her shoulder at Gale, face about as red as Karlach was normally. He had his chin in one hand in his ‘thinking’ pose and was looking at her behind with his head tilted and rather more academic curiosity than she thought appropriate.
“Gale,” she half growled.
He looked up at her – then blinked. “Are you alright? You’re looking a touch over warm…”
Human, she reminded herself. He’s human.
His fingertips were still brushing over the skin of her tail. It had her heart beating too fast in her chest. She knew he wouldn’t have touched her at all if they weren’t in a relationship. No matter how curious. Even so he probably thought it no more sensitive than an arm, or a leg.
“When my tail does that it’s – uh…” Mortification. She hadn’t felt embarrassment this keen since she’d been a teenager and Eldrey started poking fun at her for her ‘fuck me’ tail every time the older tiefling pulled her into a hug. Nothing on or under Toril could get her to call it a ‘fuck me’ tail to Gale. She stumbled over her words. “It, um, indicates – attraction and, uh, desire. So.”
“Oh?” A beat. Then he blushed. “Oh! Yes, that would…” and then the wizard trailed off, eyes going a little distant. Surely remembering the many times her damned tail had made just such a motion while she was talking to him.
Temperance had never quite managed to control that sort of body language. It came from growing up without any older tieflings to model from or to teach her. Even Eldrey only knew what it meant because someone else had told her.
“This is certainly information worth knowing,” he went on. His voice dropping to a caressing tone. One that made her mouth go dry and the end of her tail – the traitorous appendage – wrap around his wrist. There was a gleam in his eye too, curiosity no longer merely academic.
“Gale,” she repeated. Incredible embarrassment warming her through. But not just embarrassment, oh no. There was a thrill of desire low in her belly that only went hotter and tighter at his tone and heavy-lidded expression. “Stop it.”
“I would like to point out, Temper, that it’s you wrapped around me. All I’ve done is make an… observation.” His smile as he said this had more than a touch of mischief in it. “Though I think this new knowledge requires further study on both our parts, yes? I can assure you I am as avid and thorough a student as I am a teacher.”
And then he twisted his captive wrist and curled each finger, one by one around her tail, sending a zing of pure heat directly between her legs.
“For example, you seem to be rather sensitive here… are you?” Still that soft, beckoning voice. The one that sent chills down her spine.
“I think… you’re clever enough to realize the – the answer to that question.”
Gale’s hand caressed along the sensitive skin near the base of her tail, seemingly fascinated by the way she gasped and arched into his touch.
“Is this an area of study you’re keen to explore?” he asked, pausing for a moment. Checking in. Something that only made her love him more.
“Yes,” she said, breathless. “Please?”
This was all the invitation he needed. Gale hooked the hand not currently held captive around her middle and tugged her back against his chest. “Now, might I have the use of both of my hands for this, love?”
It took a little concentration, but she unspooled her tail from his arm. It was still high, and even fully clothed and backed up against him she felt ridiculously on display. Which was sort of the point, really.
“Very good,” he praised. “Now lay back a little for me – most excellent, just like that –”
The back of her head rested on his shoulders, and her legs were on their side of his. A sort of backwards straddling, with one of Gale’s hands carding through her hair and the other splayed somewhat possessively across her lower stomach. Once he was certain she was stable, his hand moved from her belly to the hem of the long, split-thigh tunic she wore about camp.
“May I?”
Her heartbeat spiked again, and she squirmed. Terribly aware of how damp her underwear were. She had been entertaining a rather… explicit fantasy when Gale started all of this.
“You may.”
He hitched up the ‘skirt’ of her tunic and slipped his hand between her thighs, cupping her covered sex in an almost gentle movement.
“Why, you’re nearly soaked through, love. What ever were you thinking about? Not alchemy, I’d wager.” Those clever fingers of his dragged across the seam of her pussy almost lazily, causing the fabric to stick and creating just the slightest bit of extra friction. “Perhaps that novel Wyll was reciting earlier today?”
Temperance closed her eyes and whined. Sensitive. Needy. Not certain if she craved a firmer touch or more of this terrible teasing. She could feel his cock hardening against her backside, proving his own growing need. Something that compelled her to wrap her tail around his waist and pull tight. As if he could be any closer.
“I was thinking about you,” she admitted. Allowing herself to relax against him even as her thighs trembled and her hips lifted to press his hand more firmly against her. “Your, mm, your hands, actually.”
Gale’s breath hitched, and she turned her head slightly to catch sight of his expression. Something raw, and needful, and – fond. He saw her looking and pressed a lingering kiss to her temple. “Just my hands?” he murmured against her skin.
She let out a breathless laugh that turned into a moan as he pushed aside her underwear and slipped one finger between her lower lips. Just barely brushing over her clit on the first pass. “Your, ah, your voice. The night we spent together, in the stars. It’s… It’s terribly distracting.”
A second finger joined the first. The heel of his hand pressed down on her as he rocked them deeper inside her with such precise, careful movements.
“I do try to be memorable,” he laughed, crooking his fingers inside her and making her gasp. “Would that I had as many hands here as I could have there.”
She closed her eyes, humming in pleasure at his touch. At how very closely he held her. Close enough she could feel his heart beating against her back. Chills raced up and down her skin at the way he held her open and set her on display.
“You’re quite the sight,” he murmured into her hair.
Gale worked his fingers in as deep as they would go and stopped moving. He simply held her against him. Bending his head and pressing kisses full of tongue and teeth down the column of her neck that made her clench around his fingers and rock against them.
The possessive way he held her had her tightening her tail around him, and her hands fisting in the fabric of his trousers. As much a mutual claiming as she could manage in their current position.
“Now,” he said softly. “Research.”
Gale shifted so he could kiss the back of her neck, slowly leaning forward until she was on her hands and knees with her damned tail standing practically at attention when he managed to slip its grasp. She groaned when he pulled his fingers from her, trying to follow his hand as it pulled away.
“Ah, ah, I need you to stay still for me, love.”
If she’d felt on display before… Her face went so hot she thought she might catch something on fire. “As… as you like.”
“Very good.” There was a smile in his voice, and the praise made her shiver.
Gale flipped up the ‘skirt’ of her tunic and tugged her underwear down to her knees. Then he paused, looking her over with a pleased hum that had her pressing her thighs together and squirming. Something she realized just put on more of a show for him. But then, she wanted to. Even if she’d much rather he go back to touching her the way he had been.
“Are you going to stare, or are you going to touch me?” she huffed, flicking her tail at him.
He cast a spell that made her skin prickle with awareness, then reached out and caught her tail. One hand gripping at the notch just under its narrowest point, the other right below it and sliding up, up, until he reached the place where it met her spine. He lifted the appendage and kissed the underside at the very base. A place she hadn’t even realized would make her gasp. And when he licked her there her arms went out from under her and she half collapsed onto the carpet.
“Gale!” it came out strangled and far louder than she wanted it to considering they were in his tiny bloody tent right next to a godsdamned vampire –
Gale stroked his thumb through her folds and caught on her clit. He pressed down on it until her hips jerked and he pulled another noise out of her. Her pussy clenched around absolutely nothing and all she could think about was his lips and his tongue as they explored the ridges of her tail, and the two fingers he pumped into her.
It was so, so good. But not enough. Left her balanced right on the edge.
“Stop teasing me –”
“Have you noticed how you tighten around my hand each time I put my tongue to your tail?” he asked. Almost casually, if not for the breathless note in his voice. And the hint of smugness.
“I, mmff– fuck!” His teeth, scraping lightly over her. “Gale please, I need you inside me –”
“Well – if you’re saying please.”
There was a rustling sound and then his cock was pressing against her entrance. Her tail draped over one shoulder in a loose curl when he let go for a moment. Gale parted her lower lips and dragged the head of his cock up and down through the folds of her sex. Making her shiver and lift one hand to muffle the next too-loud moan at the sensation.
“Please,” she said through her fingers, voice cracking.
“You need only ask and I will happily provide,” he said softly.
He pushed inside her, then. So slow despite how he’d prepared her with his fingers, despite the fact that she was so wet she could feel it on her thighs. Decadent man. He took his time, sliding in and out of her, going a little deeper each time. Dragging out the stretch and the burn until at long last he was fully seated inside her.
“Good?” he asked, breathless, both hands on her hips. “I can take you to such heights if you let me.”
“I,” she had to fight for words. She felt too full, too sensitized. He was all around her again, just like in the stars. “I want you to. Gale, show me.”
“Then hold tight, love,” he said.
He tightened his hold on her hips and started to move. Slow at first, but moment by moment increasing the tempo. Gale was not a small man, but the angle as he covered her body with his and wrapped his arms around her made him feel bigger. Each thrust had her pushing back against him, chasing the pleasure. Wanting more, because she was so, so close.
“Don’t stop, please, I just need –”
One hand dropped down low so his talented fingers could play with her clit. Intensifying absolutely everything. Making each thrust feel like a match strike. Every muscle and nerve ending went molten and began to sing. So did she, crying his name out and coming with such intensity it made her vision spark.
Then her entirely insane wizard murmured a word of arcane power that hummed through her body like she was a tuning fork. And there was another set of hands on her. Or rather, another set of Gale’s hands, pushing her up while the ones at her waist pulled.
She found herself back in the position she’d started in, only this time seated on Gale’s cock with her probably ruined underwear around her knees. Flushed and flinching from the too-intense shocks of pleasure every time he moved inside her. His projection was kneeling in front of her, and leaned forward to kiss her throat with cool lips that sparked slightly against her skin. It was like being kissed by a stormcloud. Electric. It made her body hum. The projection smiled at her with eyes darkened by desire, clever hands undoing the belt at her waist and then… waiting.
“Gale?” she gasped, skin erupting in goosebumps.
“Do you think I would be content to watch you fall apart only once?” He said, rocking up into her again, something that made both of them moan. “The night is young. We’ve so much to explore together. Until the very moment you wish to stop.”
Temperance sighed when the projection pulled her tunic down over her shoulders and bared her breasts. It leaned forward and tongued at one of her nipples, a move that had her snatching at the real man behind her. The projection was relentless. And she quickly realized it didn’t need to breathe.
Then it moved from her breasts down her stomach, trailing its tongue over each hard ridge of her infernal heritage. And Gale continued to fuck his cock into her. Pulsing inside of her, hot and heavy. Just on the edge of too much.
An edge she was shoved over with a hoarse shout when the projection began to kiss her pussy. It’s tongue against her clit. That lighting-in-a-bottle sensation tearing through her. Too much! Too sensitive. She pressed back against Gale, one hand clinging to his shirtsleeve, the other to the mirror before her. Caught between them both as they brought her to the edge again, and again.
Until something snapped. A ripple of magic letting go as a spell broke, and Gale swore softly under his breath. The projection – apparently not the spell he lost – sat up and kissed her again. Swallowing her cries in its mouth as Gale’s hips stuttered against her. Harder now, without rhythm.
He buried his head in her neck and clung to her as he came in a sudden, hot burst. And when he did, there was another snap and the projection vanished. Leaving the two of them to gasp and tremble alone in his tent, still lit by the blue flickers of light in his chest.
For several moments they just sat together and caught their breath. Until Gale’s creaky knees began to protest a little too loudly and they had to part. Temperance couldn’t help but whimper when he slipped out of her, knees knocking together and tail snapping down to protect from any further touching. She could feel her pulse between her legs still, and wasn’t entirely sure that, if she were asked to in that moment, that she could stand.
Gale pulled her into his arms again and held her close. Careful to avoid the parts of her still singing and over-sensitive.
“Quite a mess I’ve made of you,” he said, clearly pleased with himself.
Temperance swatted at him with her tail, exhaustion dragging at her limbs. “Vengeance will be mine,” she mumbled. Still shivering a little.
“Vengeance? Really?” His tone was caught between laughter and softness. “Surely I deserve a reward more than a punishment? Did I not satisfy you?”
“Oh, you did.” Temperance nuzzled into the velvet texture of his camp shirt, eyes drifting shut at the way he was running one hand through her hair. Curiously, he seemed to know to avoid her horns. They weren’t always sensitive, but just now….
“Then perhaps it’s the broken promise of ‘all night’ you object to? Used to be I could keep three spells going much longer than that,” he sighed – sounding genuinely annoyed at that last bit. Because of course he would be.
“Three?” she tilted her head to look up at him.
“Silence, endurance, and our extra guest,” he said.
Temperance forced herself to sit back up so she could find his lips and kiss them. Soft and chaste. “I love you.”
He looked at her like she’d been the one to place the stars in the sky, lightly running his hand up and down her spine now. “You are everything to me.”
She pressed their foreheads together and watched him close his eyes. One day soon, she was going to show him that he was everything to her, too.
But first…
“Please cast prestidigitation before we both pass out.”

The Fall Of The House Of Sallow
Characters: Original Female Character, Sebastian Sallow, Ominis Gaunt, Poppy Sweeting
It was a bright, sunny day when Danielle received the owl. She was teaching third-years about the Dementors and the Patronus Charm when from her peripheral she saw an owl perched on the ledge outside. Frowning, she got off her chair and opened the window. She looked at the sender. Gaunt, O.
"Shit." Danielle hissed. Heart hammering, she opened the letter.
Danielle,
Anne took a turn for the worse. She couldn't even stand. No physician at St. Mungo's can do anything. She's gone.
Omnis
Danielle's mouth flew to her mouth, her knees nearly buckling.
"Professor?" One of her students said. "Are you all right?"
Danielle took a deep, shaky breath. "Class dismissed."
"I've never been to Feldcroft." Poppy admitted as they made their way to the Sallow home. When they opened the door, the first face they saw was
"Madam Reyes." Danielle greeted brusquely. The Flying Class instructor merely nodded.
"Damn, talk about hostility." Poppy muttered. "What the hell happened between you two?"
"Nothing worth rehashing." They found Sebastian on the kitchen, conversing with one of the locals. Catching Danielle's eye, he excused himself.
"Thanks for coming." He said quietly. Danielle gave her friend a tight hug.
"Of course. How you holding up?"
"Still in shock, honestly. Imagine receiving your first owl, and it's about your sister's death."
"Sorry. If you need a break, I'm at Lower Hogsfield."
3 years later
It was summer, and was particularly hotter than usual. The heat dulled Danielle's senses, and she snapped out of her daze only when someone started practically banging against her front door.
"All right, coming." Danielle muttered. She opened the door-and blinked. It was Poppy. Now it's not strange that the other witch viits her, given they live in the same hamlet. But it was the wild, almost manic look on her friend's face that alarmed Danielle. Still breathing heavily Poppy shoved a copy of The Daily Prophet. There, in bold letters were the words CRAGROFTSHIRE IN RUINS.
"Shit." Danielle hissed, stronger expletives coming out of her mouth as she read on.
"It's the same description. 'Robed individuals accompanied by Inferi and Acromantulas.' They..."
But whatever else Poppy was saying faded in the background. Inferi. Danielle's blood ran cold as she realized who the mastermind of the tragedies that befell hamlets for the past two years.
"Oh, what have you done?" She whispered, collapsing on the couch.
"What? Who's done what? Danielle, talk to me. What do you-" Poppy grunted as Danielle rather unceremoniously threw the newspaper back at her friend before sprinting upstairs and opening a drawer of notes and journals.
"Where is it, where is it..." Finally Danielle found what she was looking for. A book about Dark Arts.
"Why do you have that?" Poppy asked suspiciously, pointing at the object.
"Bought it after the second attack. Fight fire with fire if necessary." Danielle replied absently, flipping through her notes as she opened the book, waving her wand to get to the desired section.
"Necromancy? Why-"
"I have a feeling what Sebastian's doing, and how he does it."
"What is his goal, then?" Poppy asked.
"To bring back his sister."
"To- how? And why?"
Danielle sighed. "Look, it's time you know the truth.
"
Poppy looked at her strangely. "What 'truth'?"
"Anne-" Danielle blew out a breath, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Anne didn't die from an unknown ailment. A Dark Wizard cursed her. Sebastian wanted to reverse that curse, and I helped him. Long story short, we didn't succeed."
"And the Inferi? Where does it fit?"
"There's this relic that can somehow control the creatures. That was also the relic that we believed could cure Anne. News flash: it dind't. It got destroyed. Time jump to three years ago, and Anne kicked the bucket."
"And now Sebastian feels like he failed twice, and by reviving Anne he thinks it can make everything right anf that Anne would come back healthy." Poppy guessed, to which Danielle nodded.
"So he's using Inferi and Acromantulas to aid him in his quest."
"How can he bring her back, though?"
Danielle opened the book. "That's why I have this." She flicked her wand, arriving to the desired topic.
"Necromancy?" The Beasts professor said, brows knit in confusion.
"Mm-hmm. Let's see. History of necromancy.... notable necromancers, not that... ah, here we are. Kinds Of Necromancy And Their Methods." Danielle began running her fingers down the page, muttering indistinctly.
"Resurrection Through Soul." Poppy read. "So he's collecting souls, storing it so that he can use them to revive Anne?"
"yeah, seems that way." Danielle affirmed.
"And the Inferi? Where do they fit?"
Danielle shrugged. "Hell if I know. We need to get to Ominis, tell him about our discovery."
-
"What?" The blind man exclaimed. :are you sure?"
"As my name's Danielle Taylor-Hall. It's him, Ominis. Tell me, do you know anyone else who have a history of Inferi control?"
"Well, I- I suppose not." Ominis admitted. "Now what?"
Just then a wizard Apparated between the three of them, bloodied and bruised.
"Mr. Willow!" Poppy said. It was indeed Danielle's and Poppy's neighbor.
"It's him." He wheezed. "I was in Keenbridge when all of a sudden they were there. It was over in minutes."
Danielle Poppy, and Ominis looked at each other.
"He's getting desperate. Two attacks in one week?"
Danielle pursed her lips. "All right, here's what we're going to do: Ominis, go to Keenbridge. I'll drop by at home to change. Poppy, stay here with Mr. Willow."
"What-" Poppy began, but Danielle cut her off.
"No questions."
Danielle arrived at the border of Keensbridge, wearing a leather long coat over a red dress shirt and black trousers (She found combat easier when wearing pants as opposed to skirts or dresses), frowning when she didn't see Ominis.
"Danielle."
The woman turned with a jerk. Standing before her, half-hidden in the moon's shadow, was Sebastian.
"Step into the light." Danielle commanded, then took a sharp breath. Sebastian's skin, once relatively fair, was now deathly pale, his face all bones and sharp angles. His hair was streaked with grey. Danielle brandished her wand, bracing herself for a fight.
"Where's Ominis?" The brown-haired woman snarled. Sebastian waved a hand, and Ominis's prone body floated into view.
"No!" Danielle exclaimed.
"Relax, he's not dead. He did put up quite a fight, though." Sebastian said. Deep inside her Danielle can sense the corrupted magic rumbling, as if agitated (it was strange, Danielle admitted. It was almost as if the magic is sentient) and sensing danger.
"Why?" Danielle asked. "Why do this? You killed hundreds, Sebastian! Do you even realize that?"
Sebastian chuckled. "Whilst the answer to your question is very interesting, albeit a bit convoluted, it will have to wait. Now if you will excuse me, I shall pay my hometown a visit."
Poppy, Danielle thought = panicking. Before she could do anything, Sebastian was gone. Danielle rushed to her blind friend, who was petrified.
"Finite!" Danielle said firmly. Ominis jerked as if electrocuted.
"Hey, hey, hey. Easy." Danielle cautioned.
"What happened? Where's Sebastian?"
"He's gone to Feldcroft. Let's go."
Feldcroft was burning.
"No..." Nearly every cottage was on fire, and about twenty Sebastians, along with spiders and Inferi. From afar she saw Poppy dueling a clone, but it was clear that she was outmatched.
"Poppy, duck!" Danielle shouted. "Glacius!" A follow-up Diffindo sliced the clone to a million pieces, ice shards flying everywhere.
"That's a combination I haven't tried before." Poppy remarked. "Where's Ominis?"
"Somewhere here-SHIT!" Danielle jumped just in time as an Acromantula burst from the ground.
"I hate it when they do that." For a full twenty minutes the two of them along with able-bodied adult in the hamlet fought with Sebastian, his clones, Inferi, and Acromantulas. After a good twenty minutes of back and forth, it was clear who was winning.
"Poppy," Danielle said, "I need you to-" she cast a quick Protego to stop the basic cast hurled at her- "I need you to go to Hogwarts. Call every professor possible."
"But-"
"Go!"
The moment Poppy vanished Danielle found herself face-ro-face with five clones of Sebastian.
"Bombarda!"
"Protego!" Danielle grunted as the force of the destructive Exploding Spell almost made her lose her footing. The former Ravenclaw student closed her eyes and focused. She reached deep inside her, drawing out the ancient magic inside her. More, her mind ordered, more, more- With a shout, Danielle blasted Sebastian with a powerful burst of ancient magic. The five winked out, apparently all of it being clones. Danielle bent over, taking several deep breaths. Using ancient magic always drains her, and she rarely uses it. Poppy Apparated along with other professors, then. Natty, Amit, Lenora, Garreth, among others. With reinforcements, the tide slowly began to turn to their favor. Just then, to Danielle's horror, Sebastian and his clones pointed their respective wands on each of the combatants.
"AVADA KEDAVRA!"
The darkening sky lit up a bright grin, and everyone but Danielle, Poppy, Natty, and Ominis went flying, having been hit by the Killing Curse.
"SEBASTIAN! SHOW YOURSELF!" Danielle roared, the rage coursing through her veins flowing like liquid fire. Nineteen Sebastians along with the spiders and Inferi vanished.
"Amazing, isn't?" What you can do with cloning." Sebastian-the real one, now- said nonchalantly, and Danielle nearly went for the man's throat for his callousness.
"Yeah, because committing a fucking massacre is supposed to impress us." Poppy replied sarcastically.
"Ah, sweet little Poppy. Innocent even in adulthood."
"Oh, yeah?" The Beasts professor snarled. "Come a little closer, see what my innocence can do."
"Sebastian-" Natty began, but the man Disapparated.
"I know where he went."
They found Sebastian on the great room of the Feldcroft Catacomb, perusing a book. On the table at the center lay Anne's body.
"Sebastian." Danielle said. The man jerked, almost dropping the tome. He grinned.
"Ah, look who's here. You're just in time."
"Why, Sebastian?" Danielle asked. "why do this? Don't you have any remorse? You murdered hundreds, wiped out entire hamlets! And all because of what, you can't deal with Anne's death? No more. You've been in denial for far too long, Sebastian. It's time to accept the truth. Anne is dead."
Sebastian's face darkened. "Never."
"Accio!" Danielle summoned the book, which snapped shut in her hand. A Depulso blasted Sebastian back, giving them a few seconds. She passed it to Natty.
"Get this back to Hogwarts with Poppy. Ominis and I will hold Sebastian off."
"Confringo!"
"Bombarda!" Danielle countered. "Go!"
Once the two witches were gone, Danielle and Ominis faced Sebastian.
"Let's end this."
"Reducto!"
Danielle rolled out of the way to avoid the curse, countering it with a Diffindo that sliced Sebastian's arm. Danielle followed Ominis's Levioso with Descendo, slamming Sebastian down to the ground. Just then Inferi burst from the ground, but a Confringo burned them to ashes as soon as they appeared.
"Expulso!"
Danielle grunted as she was thrown against the wall. She attempted to stand, but Sebastian blasted her with Descendo twice. Danielle heard a rib or two crack.
"D-"
Then he vanished. Quickly downing a Wigginweld potion, Danielle looked for Sebastian. He was locked in a duel with Ominis, and was slowly but surely winning. Danielle stumbled to Anne's corpse, holding both sides of her head.
"Sebastian!" She called out. The two men stopped, whirling.
"What are you doing?" Sebastian said.
"Surrender or I'll snap Anne's neck." Danielle threatened.
"You wouldn't dare. And I doubt you're strong enough."
"I will, and I am." Danielle twisted Anne's neck until she felt the strain. "I'll do it!"
"Depulso!" A follow up Descendo slammed Danielle down the ground, making her wheeze. A Petrificus Totalus paralyzed her. So she was helpless when Sebastian, finally getting the upper hand, began to beat Ominis to death.
"You!" Punch. "Will!" Punch. "Not!" Punch. "STOP ME!"
The effect of the jinx finally wore off, but it was too late. With a scream, Sebastian brought down a rock Danielle failed to notice on Ominis's face, cracking his skull open.
"Glacius! Diffindo!" Shards of Anne's body flew everywhere.
"NO!" Sebastian said. Thrusting out an arm, he yanked Danielle towards him.
Danielle and Sebastian circled each other, both assuming offensive stances.
"Enough." Danielle said firmly. "This won't end-ah!" Danielle cried out as Sebastian sliced her cheek with Diffindo.
"All right, then. Accio! Levioso! Descendo! Bombarda! Confringo! Red-"
"CRUCIO!" Sebastian roared. Danielle fell on her side, screaming and writhing. Sebastian chuckled as he walked over.
"The great Danielle Taylor-Hall, the slayer of the goblin Ranrok. Pathetic." His grip on his wand tightened, and Danielle flailed as the pain intensified. Finally Sebastian stopped. Danielle tried to stand, but Sebastian stomped on the back of Danielle's head, the woman almost blacking out. Sebastian grabbed Danielle and, with surprising strength, threw her a good five feet away, with Danielle slamming face-first against a tree.
"Please," Danielle gasped out, then wailed as Sebastian cast Crucio again, before breaking Danielle's wand hand, eliciting another scream from the DADA professor.
"Ava-"
"Expelliarmus!" Someone yelled. Poppy, based on the voice. A couple of Chinese chomping Cabbages and a Venomous Tentacula bought the two witches some time.
"Here, drink this." Poppy instructed, handing Danielle two vials of Wiggenweld potions. Immediately her head cleared, and strength returned to her body. Together they faced Sebastian.
"Sebastian, stop. Last chance." Poppy said warningly. In answer Sebastian fired a burst of basic cast. Soon all three were exchanging curses and spells.
"EXPULSO!"
Danielle and Poppy barely had time to conjure a Shield Charm before they were struck.
"We could definitely use some of that ancient magic of yours right now." Poppy said, voice strained as the two of them struggled to repel the destructive curse. Once again Danielle tapped into the well inside her, pulling out bits and pieces of the magic and channeling it on her wand. Her eyes flashed crimson, and she blasted Sebastian away with a shout. Unfortunately she miscalculated, and Sebastian went flying further than she intended/
"Sebastian!" Danielle and Poppy raced down the hill, but Sebastian was rolling down too fast. The hill ended in a cliff, and Danielle yanked Poppy back to prevent her from falling over the edge. Sebastian was hanging by a hand, but his grip was loosening.
"Sebastian! Sebastian, take my hand!: She said. Then, to Danielle's horror, ten mongrels were gathering below.
"Grab my hand!" The brown haired screamed. "Hurry!"
"No." Sebastian said. "I dug my own grave the moment I started this whole thing. It's time I lie in it." He looked at Danielle and Poppy. "It's been an honor meeting you."
With that Sebastian let go, falling down towards the waiting jaws of the wild dogs below.
"He-he- Oh, Merlin." Poppy gasped, a hand flying to her mouth.
"Thus fall the house of Sallow." Danielle murmured.
The last thing they heard was Sebastian's screams as he was being ripped apart.

A response to this ask; taken from this prompt; anyone can feel free to send other numbers in at any time, I don’t care how long it’s been. (Just maybe add some context to your ask if it’s been like a month or more since I posted this, because otherwise I won’t know what to do with the random number in my inbox).
#28....as a lie.
*technically this one picks up after the end of this story if you want to read that first, although you don’t need to; it’s as much a self-contained snippet as any of the others, it just happens take place in a setting within the events of a specific fic, that’s all.
Gimli’s eyes were drawn ever and again to the elvish dancers, even as he was drawn several times into brief conversations as friends and acquaintances paused at the table he now shared with Gandalf to exchange a few words and toast their well-wishes together for Gondor’s king and queen. Gimli was glad of the toasts, at least, for they brought fresh mugs of cool ale, and the heat of so many cavorting bodies had raised the temperature of the hall to near-dwarven levels, despite the cool white stone and tall windows through which a summer’s breeze still wafted.
Legolas’s hair shone like a sunrise in the rich torchlight, and his eyes gleamed like starlight on pale clouds. Gimli was amazed that anyone could long look elsewhere, with the shine of him whirling there to draw the eye.
He was not amazed that the other elves twirling on the dance floor were drawn to him; of course they were. How could they help but be lured in, dull drab moths circling that golden glow? Long hands ran up and down Legolas’s lithe limbs and pressed against his slender waist, long fingers twined through the streaming locks of his unfettered hair and curled possessively around his braids—
The mug in Gimli’s hands gave a crack and shattered, soft metal collapsing in on itself in his grip. He stared at the mess in his hands, numbly grateful that he had at least drained it already and so there was no ale left to spill out across his lap, and then he hurriedly shoved it onto the table behind him. He could feel his cheeks burning hotter than any torch in the hall.
Gimli chanced a sideways glance at Gandalf, who was watching the dancers with every evidence of placid enjoyment on his old face. Had he seen? Had he heard? He said nothing, but that did not always mean anything with Gandalf. Perhaps Gimli should speak, should craft some excuse...
“Flimsy human metal,” he muttered, and glanced at the wizard again. Gandalf nodded absently, but did not otherwise react.
Gimli let out his breath in relief—and then a second later he nearly choked on it, as Legolas suddenly bounded out of the tumult to perch on the bench beside him. His eyes danced as merrily as any of the revelers and his smile beamed bright and clear upon his beardless face.
“Will you not dance with us, Gimli?” he asked. His voice was light with laughter and with joy and his thin chest heaved from his exertions. Gimli found his eyes drawn upwards to the bare lips above that smooth and hairless chin.
“What?” he said.
“Dance with us, Gimli!” Legolas repeated. “Come, you can teach us dwarven steps and I will show you the ways of elvish revelry up close.”
“No,” Gimli answered automatically, his heart stuttering in his throat. “No, I—I am quite comfortable here, thank you.”
“You do not seem comfortable,” Legolas observed, and Gimli felt his stomach drop like a stone. He could not stop himself from glancing behind him at the ruined mug, even though he knew the gesture was a dead give-away; if Legolas had not seen it before, he surely would now, with Gimli’s gaze to lead him to it like a map—or a swift arrow.
“I am perfectly fine,” Gimli insisted. “Gandalf and I are enjoying the dancing quite well from here, thank you.”
Legolas spared a glance at the unmoving wizard but his eyes soon fixed on Gimli once more. “You are bothered by something,” he said quietly. “I can tell. Will you not tell me what? Perhaps I can help.”
Gimli’s mind stuttered with the possibilities of the help that Legolas might offer, and he quickly shied away from the idea. “No!” he blurted. “No, I—as I said, I am fine. It is merely warm in here.”
Legolas laughed. “Warm!” he cried. “But you are a dwarf!”
“Aye, a dwarf,” said Gimli, “and one who is enjoying his ale from his comfortable seat, and has no need to go whirling about like some flighty elven dandelion!”
Legolas should have laughed; Gimli knew his friend well enough to know that much. He should have laughed, but he did not. Instead his pale eyes narrowed sharp and keen on Gimli’s face, and Gimli could feel himself blushing beneath that tight scrutiny.
“Does it bother you,” Legolas asked in a low voice, “to see me frolicking so with these other elves?”
“What?” Gimli exclaimed. His hands clenched convulsively, and he was glad that he had already broken his mug; had he still been holding it now, he would surely have turned the thing into a flattened disk of over-stressed and useless metal. “Bother me! Of course it does not!”
To prove it, Gimli made himself laugh and shake his head, as though Legolas had spoken some ridiculous jest. He even lifted the elf’s lean brown hand and kissed the smooth knuckles as more evidence of how thoroughly unbothered he was. “Go back to your dancing, Master Elf!” Gimli chortled. “I am doing quite well watching it from afar, thank you!”
Legolas stared at him for another moment, his smooth face unreadable . The tips of his ears were flushed dark red from all of his cavorting and his pale eyed looked very wide with no beard to frame them.
Then he shrugged, and said, “As you like, then!” and squeezed Gimli’s shoulder once before bounding away and throwing himself back into the whirl of the merry elvish dancers.
Gimli let out a shaky breath and flexed his hands a few times, getting the blood-flow back into them.
"Lying will do no good for either of you," Gandalf declared calmly. "And it is hardly fair to Legolas; he will take you at your word, whatever you tell him."
Gimli could feel his cheeks burning hotter, shame coming along to add its kindling to the blaze. He managed to force an unintelligible grumble of disagreement from his lips, but nothing more articulate than that; he felt as though he was already strangling on all the words he would not, could not, say.
"He will," Gandalf insisted. "The elvenking might be able to spot a lie from 300 leagues and skewer it as neatly as his son ever has an enemy with that bow of his, but Thranduil's people are another matter. Lies are not generally told in Mirkwood. It is not a place for dissembling, or oaths, or scheming. The Wood-elves are a simple, honest people. And you are Legolas's friend." Gandalf pulled his eyes away from the dancing and fixed his gaze on Gimli instead. His bushy brows were drawn very low atop them, making his eyes glint like embers in deep shadow. "If you tell him something, he will believe you, Gimli. And you will have none but yourself to blame for the results."
Without waiting for Gimli to muster either the courage or the wits for a response, Gandalf swept to his feet and strode off into the tumult of the party.
Gimli slumped low on his bench and stared miserably at the dancing elves.
Legolas was still so impossibly vibrant and noticeable against the duller backdrop of the others. Gimli's eyes fixed on him at once. He seemed to be moving now with even greater abandon than before, if such a thing were possible.
And if such a thing were not impossible, Gimli would almost have said that Legolas kept glancing back at the table where Gimli sat as well—but he was not, of course, and so Gimli put the thought from his mind.
He had more than enough to think of anyway, when a tall elf of Lórien slid up behind Legolas and snaked her arms across his narrow shoulders, leaning in low to murmur something into his finely-pointed ear.
Legolas laughed and turned to face her, their long lithe arms entwining as close as any dwarven lovers. They swayed and swirled together with the music, and the elf-woman’s hands slid up from Legolas’s shoulders to tangle in his braids. Legolas smiled up at her and said something that Gimli was too far away to hear, but it made her laugh. Then Legolas gave one of her dark braids a gentle tug, and Gimli realized that he was growling low in his throat as though facing down a horde of goblins.
He turned away blindly and reached for his mug, realized that it was both empty and broken, and turned back around just in time to see the elf-woman twirl away into someone else’s arms as another pair of hands took Legolas by his trim waist and plucked him out of the center of the tumult to pull him in close against their long lean body, and—
And it was Haldir, Mahal curse it. Gimli’s mouth went dry, his blood pounding in his ears like drumbeats as the March Warden leaned in close and lowered his mouth to Legolas’s ear, whispering something. He took one of Legolas’s braids in his hand and rubbed his thumb across the heavy golden strands, like a dwarf might test a metal for its quality. Haldir was hardly dancing; only swaying a little as he stared down at Legolas, who stood balanced before him on his toes like a bird paused on the edge of flight.
Gimli was on his feet before he realized it, about to start forward and—and what?
His hand was at his belt, which was empty of course; a wedding was no place for weapons. And why was he reaching for his axe, anyway? He sat back down on the bench with a heavy, hollow thump. What was he thinking? What was he doing?
He had had too much ale, clearly. It was the only explanation for his strange behavior tonight. His throat was dry, but he would not drink anymore tonight; he had drunk too much already, clearly, and it was clouding his thoughts. Making him think strange, impossible things. Making him dream things that—that were not, that could never...!
Legolas laughed and rose up onto his toes to press a light kiss to Haldir’s lips.
His head reeling, Gimli watched as the March Warden took Legolas by the hand and led him, smiling, towards the door. If Gimli thought that Legolas paused on the threshold and looked back, somehow finding Gimli’s eyes across the crowded room and glancing at him hesitatingly, questioningly, even hopefully—well, then that was just another sign that he had reached the night’s limit for ale; reached, and more than passed.
Gimli held himself very still, schooling his expression to a placid calmness that might have rivaled Gandalf’s, and then he forced a smile and a nod—just in case Legolas was really looking; just in case he could really see him.
A shadow seemed to flicker across those bright elvish eyes, as though one of the torches near the door was on the verge of guttering; although when Gimli looked at them, they both appeared to be burning tall and strong still.
When he looked back, there was only a faint fading flicker of golden locks flowing around the corner as Legolas vanished into the night and Haldir’s arms.
Gimli sat there for several minutes, staring into the empty darkness of the door. The noise of the wedding revels that had once filled the hall with such bright merriment seemed to have faded now, somehow; he heard it from a distance, like echoes from some far-off cave. Eventually he forced himself to rise, and murmur unintelligible farewells as he passed his friends, and trudge his way across the long white hall towards the other door.
He stumbled back to the rooms the Fellowship shared, alone.

Moonlight Cookie: Some dreams promise a warm embrace, just like an old friend… One’s favorite verse of a poem. Moonlight Cookie: But why do you ask about dreams, my brother, Stardust Cookie?
Tumblr media
Stardust Cookie: Once I had a dream. A dream about a star. Stardust Cookie: Or was it about a Cookie wandering the distant corners of the Universe…? I recall… a sense of longing. Stardust Cookie: I… barely remember. Yet whenever I think about this dream, something within my chest… aches. Stardust Cookie: And ever since I arrived at the City of Wizards, this feeling has grown stronger. Stardust Cookie: I began wondering if I could find traces of this dream somewhere within your realm. Moonlight Cookie: … Stardust Cookie: …Moonlight Cookie? Moonlight Cookie: …Hm. Moonlight Cookie: Z-z-z-z…
Tumblr media
Stardust Cookie: Moonlight Cookie? Did you… fall asleep? Stardust Cookie: Are you trying to locate my dream…? Stardust Cookie: Huh… Stardust Cookie: Suddenly… I feel drowsy too…

Wizard Base: Your mission is to gather the needed data and blow the star up. Make sure to withdraw as fast as you can! Meteor 1 Cookie: …What? Meteor 1 Cookie: This wasn’t in the briefing. My objective was to investigate the nature of Vega’s gradual delamination and then use alteration magic to… Wizard Base: It pains me to tell you this but… After your departure, the Astronomers’ simulations clearly indicated Vega’s imminent transformation into a dark vortex. Meteor 1 Cookie: This is… nonsense! I completely disagree! Meteor 1 Cookie: Those bookworms…! Why don’t they come and see how things really are! Meteor 1 Cookie: There is no star in the whole universe like Vega! We can still save it! Meteor 1 Cookie: Hello? Answer me? Do you copy?! HELLO?! Wizard Base: …There is no other way. The incantation has been commenced. Withdraw as quick as you can. Meteor 1 Cookie: No… NO! It can’t be! Wait!

Nightmare in the Library
Tumblr media
Tome Keeper Wizard: You were created to help me, a half-blind old man, take care of the Archives… Yet look at you now: you’ve grown to treasure the books, you’ve learned so much…! Tome Keeper Wizard: I’m so proud of you… So proud…
Tumblr media
Blueberry Pie Cookie: Which stars illuminate the sky above you tonight, my teacher…? Blueberry Pie Cookie: Know that I have preserved your beloved library in the exact same pristine condition as it was on that fateful day… Blueberry Pie Cookie: But sometimes I grow… weary. If only you were here, you could have helped me… break the curse that fell upon me. Blueberry Pie Cookie: Or was this curse… part of your plan as well? Blueberry Pie Cookie: Is this a punishment for me who dared… to covet arcane knowledge? I only wish to know the truth… I beg…
Tumblr media
Tome Keeper Wizard: This place is the Archives of Magic, the treasure trove of our great city. Tome Keeper Wizard: You will be tasked with helping the wizards pursue knowledge, and helping me keep the books in order. Memory Wizard: Hmm, I heard that you are interested in magic and old tomes too, yes? Memory Wizard: It is uncommon for one of your kind, a Cookie… Memory Wizard: If that is true, you will not find a place more delightful that* the Archives.
*actual text
Tumblr media
Blueberry Pie Cookie: …Is it so uncommon for a Cookie… to be interested in magic? Blueberry Pie Cookie: I heard about “Moonlight Cookie” who studies magic and is even allowed to wield its powers. Memory Wizard: Ha ha ha. Moonlight Cookie very special! Unlike you… Blueberry Pie Cookie: …… Tome Keeper Wizard: Listen to what you’re saying! To me, this child is more special than anyone else! Tome Keeper Wizard: Come on, Blueberry Pie Cookie, come along! Let us not waste time…! The Hall of Moonlight awaits us. Tome Keeper Wizard: It is filled to the brim with invaluable records and priceless materials! Blueberry Pie Cookie: I am honored to be granted such an opportunity… Blueberry Pie Cookie: I will read each and every tome with utmost attention and make sure to prove myself valuable to your research, teacher. Tome Keeper Wizard: Har har har! How peculiar! Tome Keeper Wizard: Do it, my child, but beware..! Tome Keeper Wizard: The language of magic is unlike any other tongue! There is power dwelling within its letters and sounds. Tome Keeper Wizard: Naturally, this vault is filled with tomes that are not meant to be taken lightly. Tome Keeper Wizard: Soon, you will realize that the Archives of Magic is like a primordial jungle swarming with ravenous beasts…!
Tumblr media
Blueberry Pie Cookie: Teacher spoke the truth. The knowledge that lies dormant on these countless shelves has a life of its own. Blueberry Pie Cookie: Yet… Both Teacher and the Wizards disappeared, and now only silence remains in the Archives. Blueberry Pie Cookie: But even now, I discover hidden wonders every day. Blueberry Pie Cookie: I have never regretted my coming here…
Tumblr media
Blueberry Pie Cookie: I have even forgotten to keep track of the date… Teacher, will you ever return? Blueberry Pie Cookie: What if.. What if I lose my way… However harsh, I need your guidance, please!
Tumblr media
Blueberry Pie Cookie: I have developed a habit lately… I keep endlessly going over every single word the Wizards ever said to me. Blueberry Pie Cookie: Naturally, most of them were my Teacher’s words… Blueberry Pie Cookie: But there is something the Memory Wizard once told me… Words that refuse to leave my mind. Blueberry Pie Cookie: Moonlight Cookie and I… What makes us so different…?
Blueberry Pie Cookie: I am a Cookie, just like her. Whatever she can do, I can do too, I’m sure…! Blueberry Pie Cookie: The only thing that separates us… is our knowledge. Blueberry Pie Cookie: Without the Wizards in this city… What good are all the roles they once assigned to us? Blueberry Pie Cookie: I will learn how to wield the power of magic! I will bind the forbidden power…! Blueberry Pie Cookie: And thus, I will bring my Teacher back…!
Tumblr media
Blueberry Pie Cookie: N-no… Oh no! What is happening…! Blueberry Pie Cookie: Ah… Aaaah! Blueberry Pie Cookie: AAAAAAAAH…!
Ah… …… …
Tumblr media
Blueberry Pie Cookie: …Enough. What is it you are trying to show me? Blueberry Pie Cookie: Enough of your tricks.
Tumblr media
Blueberry Pie Cookie: Ah… Of course. To this day, I’ve never fallen asleep on a moonlit night. Blueberry Pie Cookie: “The Exploration of Dreams…” Tsk-tsk-tsk, was it your doing? Blueberry Pie Cookie: Stop fooling around and return to your shelf at once!
Tumblr media
Blueberry Pie Cookie: Good. My work here is done. Blueberry Pie Cookie: Hm… Blueberry Pie Cookie: The moon is bright tonight…

Woodland Princess Ch.7: Turn of Events
Tumblr media
Ch.6 Ch.8
I made my way back to the trolls clearing to see that they had placed some dwarves each into separate bags to keep them from escaping and in the middle was the rest of them tied to a log and slowly being rotisseried.
I nearly laughed when I saw this but smacked myself at the thought that I was their only hope and was laughing. I took out my daggers which shone with the starlights powerful energy.
I slowly crept into a tree that was over one of the trolls that was near the edge of the clearing. I created an enduring burning rage which caused the blades to burn hotter than the sun since they are able to use your emotions to your advantage.
I jumped out of the tree and before the troll could figure out what was happening I stabbed the burning hot blades straight through the top of his head which killed him instantly.
Since Bilbo was talking to the other trolls they had no idea what happened when their friend dropped onto the floor with no reason according to them.
I quickly disappeared back into the forest, nobody saw what happened, not even the dwarves, so they wouldn't be able to give me away upon their own stupidity. I was closer to the ground now and crawled underneath a thick bush close to a foot.
Without waiting, I stabbed its leg and dragged it down to the bottom of their foot, and by the time he shrieked I was already back within the trees.
I caught sight of a gray blue guessing it was an animal of some sort, but when the sun's dawn light started to deep through the sky the gray blur turned out to be Gandalf who used his staffs and broke a rock that allowed the sun's light to come through and burn all the trolls to stone.
I didn't want any of them to know I'd helped them because then Thorin would know I have my weapons backs and would save his life even though he made me feel like the ground they step on everyday.
I quickly hurry back to camp and tell Raerthar to say nothing or else they would believe I was weak. Soon enough they came back to camp, some slightly limping and others just fine.
Thorin sent me a glare and thought 'And that's why you don't have a weapon, because you wouldn't even help us even if we're about to die'.
He stalked past me and hit his shoulder into mine as a way to say 'thanks for nothing'. I made no move to respond, knowing it was a bad idea.
Gandalf looked confused when he saw what Thorin did since he knew I was postponing the trolls from killing them, but I told Gandalf none of them had seen me so none of them knew and that that was how I wanted to keep it. He reluctantly agreed thinking it was a stupid thing but nonetheless agreed.
"Mountain trolls down here, this is quite odd." I say to Gandalf as we pack up the ponies.
"Yes, now that you mention it, it is quite odd judging that they haven't been this far since the last dark power fell." Explained Gandalf as he tacked up his horse.
"I find it strange how a wizard and an elf never seem to shut up!" Shouted Thorin from across the area. We decided to search for a nearby cave the trolls must've stayed in and sure enough we found one that smelled of death and decay.
I held my nose as I walked into the troll cave. Gandalf went around and searched for swords I believe he said while I looked around and found an odd looking thing with a deep dark blue color that quickly changed when I put it on my finger.
When everyone finally left the cave, Gandalf and I mounted our horses but it seems the other horses bolted when the trolls attacked so everyone else was walking which made me so happy at the looks of anger and jealousy Thorin threw at me when he was tired of trekking and carrying the things on his back the horses would've carried instead.
We stop at the edge of the forest where a plain opens up to drink and eat quickly. I slide off Raerthar and slip out two apples and a carrot then find her a patch of grass to eat while we're waiting.
"You know that food is much better off being given to a human other than some animal." Says a voice behind me. I turn and see Dwalin I quickly respond,"
"Why? Did you want one?" I say as nicely as I can and pull one out of the saddlebag and make sure to grab Raerthars attention without Dwalin noticing. I hold out the apple, he reaches to take it but I quickly throw it out of his reach to have Raerthar jump into the air and grab it.
The look Dwalin gave me was one of pure hatred but I laughed, hearing Gandalf chuckling slightly as well.
