I am so fucking soft for these kids man. like sorry to their parents but they’re MY kids now 😙
#so there’s this 4y/o girl (let’s call her A) and her 5y/o brother (let’s call him B) right?#they were NOT getting along on monday (and they weren’t here on tuesday & it’s a jewish school so they had yesterday off for Yom Kippur)#and it was mainly one sided in the sense that B was getting frustrated with A and being mean to her#and so I was ofc worried that was just gonna be their usual dynamic#especially knowing that their parents are divorced AND they’ve got two YOUNGER siblings. so like home life is definitely hard#but today holy shit they were SO fucking sweet with each other and B was so caring towards A#when the kids were reading the day’s schedule and sitting on the ground I sat with them at A’s request#and she immediately hopped on my lap and cuddled against me (which in itself was so cute and sweet I was abt to cry)#and then only seconds later B scooted over to me and leaned against my side with his head on my shoulder (I asked him if he wanted me to put#my arm around him and he said yes and so I did)#and just. having these two siblings cuddling against me together was just so sweet I really felt on the edge of crying#AND THEN WHEN A SAID SHE WAS HUNGRY B GAVE HER MOST OF HIS SNACK EVEN THOUGH HE DIDNT HAVE MUCH LEFT#AND HE DID IT WITHOUT ANY HESITATION HE WAS JUST LIKE#‘A put out your hand!’ AND JUST PURED HIS RAISINS INTO HER HAND#and GOD I just about ascended into heaven it was so fucking sweet and unprompted and you could just SEE and FEEL the love between them ugh#like genuinely that’s gotta be one of the highlights of my month if not my year. like I’m always gonna remember this experience#also at the start of the program today A ran up to me as soon as she saw me and started talking my ear off and she was like ‘YAYY MISS ANNA’#and bro my fucking HEARTTT#you really can tell just how badly these two need that extra love and support by how they’ve immediately latched on to me and clung there#ever since (especially A)#and while it hurts my heart that they so clearly are missing the attention and security that they need#I’m also just so happy and privileged and grateful that I get to provide this for them and that they trust me to do so#especially when today was only the second day I’ve spent with them#I just. ALL these kids man I fucking love them. my heart is so full rn#applying for this job has to be one of the best decisions I’ve made in a really long time#and I’m actually proud of myself for once bc of it#❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

"Where the reader is his mate"
Hi there! Could I please request a Jasper Hale X Fem reader where the reader is his mate but still human and just transferred. Maybe a bit shy and likes to paint and read and one day jasper finds her in the woods.
Request by @bellewoods1215
Jasper X f!reader
word count: ~985
Tumblr media
As a young girl, y/n was always shy. She found herself more inclined to catch butterflies and read books and let spiders outside than socialize and squash insect-like intruders. This, as one may expect, led to school being, succinctly put, not her favorite environment. She loved to learn, she adored learning, but the crowded halls and talkative peers, and near-constant tension between one duo or another was overwhelming to her. She found her peace in the nearby woods back behind the gymnasium. Her study hall directly preceded her lunch period, which was the luckiest she’d ever felt about a school schedule, and, so, it was easy to spend a couple hours outdoors—even in the vicious cold. Wrapping her late grandfather’s checked scarf around her neck and pulling on her knit cap and gloves, y/n tightened her sweater around herself and took her leave. She brought an easy read out with her—something really written for kids in middle school, but she’d read it a million times and the ease and expectedness of each word and page turn was easy to digest. And so, after brushing off a frosty icy rock, she sat with her legs bunched up in a slim stream of sunlight, opening her book and letting out a foggy breath.
Jasper Hale is the newest “vegetarian” in his family. Because of this, he’s specifically not supposed to spend alone time with humans, particularly when he’s hungry. It’s not at all that he can’t do it, it’s more that it’s safer to have someone of your own capabilities present to hold you accountable. He knows this. That’s why, on one solitary Thursday afternoon when the lunch bell rang, Jasper took the opportunity to leave school grounds and grab a bite to eat. He knew his eyes were quickly darkening to brown and soon they’d be black. He never lets himself go this long without eating, but it was hunting season, not to mention an especially cold winter, and so wildlife in the area was somewhat scarce. Adding to that, he’d rather let his family eat before him. Animals never quite satiated him anyway.
Stopping dead in his tracks, feeling the wind he picked up behind him rush back against him. He smelled the sweet beat of a human heart, but this one was different. There was no blood lust in him as he inhaled the peace that came with the even rhythm. And, without really thinking, almost like an undead monster, he lazed through the woods toward this innocuous love. Upon approach, he laid eyes on her.
Jasper had never particularly missed the warmth a pulse brought to his skin, but seeing her all bundled up, seeing the breath leave her body and almost block her view of the pages before her, he suddenly wanted nothing more than to be as warm-blooded as those wolves across the treaty line. He wanted to blanket her, to protect her from anything that could cause her harm or discomfort—even just the icy air. With nothing but a glance, without even knowing her name, he adored her.
---
Months went by. A number of people had approached y/n, Mike and Jessica, Angela and Ben, and it’s not as though she had anything in particular against anyone, she just didn’t feel the need for them. She didn’t feel drawn to them. Only one student caught her eye—a yellow-eyed, honey-haired boy with pain in his gaze. They only had a handful of classes together, and in none of those classes did they sit beside each other, but she kept an eye on him. She observed him and, unbeknownst to her, he returned the observations. Even sitting across the room from him, there was a peace she only knew when he was near.
But then the sun came out—really came out—and the ground began to thaw, and he was gone. She felt ridiculous even thinking about him, she wasn’t even sure of his name, how can you feel so attached to someone when you don’t even know their name?
One week—he was gone for a week—Wednesday to Wednesday—but, sitting against a tree near the edge of the lot on one solitary Thursday morning, a rumbling was heard probably throughout the entire city and a motorcycle—which was somehow both shiny and dusty—pulled into the lot. It parked, the kickstand was kicked to make the bike stand, and a helmet was removed to reveal that honey hair. He wasn’t cocky or attention-seeking, he didn’t catch much attention for suddenly roaring back to school, but y/n couldn’t look away. Not when he clipped the helmet around the handlebars, not when he pulled his leg over the bike to be standing independently, and not when his eyes met hers. They looked at each other for a second or maybe it was a year, and then the bell rang. Y/n’s eyes snapped away, looking towards the plain building, and she scrambled to stand unfortunately dropping her bag. Its contents spilled—a cheap watercolor set, pens, pencils, books, the works.
“Shit, shit, shit.” People pooled into the school behind her as she tried, as quickly as possible, to scoop all of her belongings back into her bag. Shoving one thing in, she turned back but it was all stacked quite neatly in a hand that held her things out to her.
“Thank you.” She smiled, awkwardly, and grabbed her things. They were cold as he removed his hands, looking up to thank the Good Samaritan properly, her eyes were fixed back on his.
“Of course.” A beat, as she placed her things aside and he stuck out his hand to her, “Jasper.”
His voice was smooth and twangy, but in a subtle sort of way. It felt like nobody else was around—and maybe they weren’t by now—but she smiled, placing her hand in his.
“Y/n.”

You cooked some spicy gram flour dumplings you had been craving all day. You were sitting in the dining hall. Thomas came and joined you. He sat opposite you, his face not revealing anything that he was thinking, his blue eyes observing you.
“I made it. You want to have some?” you asked him, offering some dumplings dipped in curry. He nodded. You served a tiny portion of spicy dumplings and a whole lot of rice, knowing he could not handle a spicy dish. You told him to pace himself.
He took a bite, and his face turned redder than the beetroot.
“What the fuck is this?”
“Spices, Thomas”
“How can you eat this? I need water, no, I need milk, fuck” he exclaimed.
“Frances, Mary, anyone, could you get me some milk” Thomas shouted like a toddler.
Mary came running with a glass of milk. Thomas snatched it and drank it whole in a gulp. You smirked, seeing the feared gangster of Birmingham tear up because of spices.
He looked at you incredulously when he saw you eat the same dish without even breaking a sweat.
“What? I had a craving…Also, you know that I don’t like bland foods. I like spicy stuff, “ you explained. His face softened. He ate the food you served, but with a lot of water.
“I want to discuss a few things with you, Thomas.”
He gestured for Mary to leave.
“Tell me, darling, what do you need?”
“Firstly, I hope you know I won’t be quitting my job” He nodded. He knew how fiercely independent you were. Making you quit your job won’t do him any favours.
“Secondly, I would like for us to maintain a strict schedule with Charlie. He needs stability. We need to meet with his paediatrician and check his growth and get his vaccines, and I want to get him tested for allergies and some usual kid stuff. Additionally, Aaliyah has been working overtime, and her Masters is suffering. Could you compensate her for the time?”
You listed your requirements. He kept staring, listening to you, observing you. He felt pride fill his heart. You were extraordinary. You had taken everything in stride, not an evil bone in your body. You had taken your responsibilities as a stepmother more seriously than Grace ever did as a mother. You weren’t shallow. You never played him, never had an agenda. You were simply you.
Thomas was busy in his thoughts, his eyes taking you in, his wife, the queen of Birmingham.
Tumblr media
Storm came thundering inside the dining hall towards you. You smiled brightly, genuine happiness adorning your face.
“Hi, baby, how was your day? Did you enjoy the grounds?” you squeaked in high pitch. Storm excitedly licked your face very cautiously, his paws on your thighs, offering you all the kisses you missed. He may also have smelled food…
He saw Thomas. Storm went and greeted him, too, trying to swindle some food from him.
Thomas called Frances. By then, Storm decided he had had enough of the Shelby. He greeted Frances, who petted him before addressing her employer. Storm sat down by your side, his head on your lap, giving you puppy dog eyes, damn those eyes.
“Has Storm had his dinner, eh?”
“Yes, Mr Shelby, Storm has eaten. Would you like me to get you something?”
“No, I am good.”
“Mrs Sh…Y/N, would you like something?”
“No, thank you so much, Frances.”
Thomas relieved Frances for the day. You got a message from Aaliyah.
“Thomas… let’s go and say good night to Charlie. He has been fed and bathed, and it’s his bedtime in a few minutes…”
He nodded and followed you and Storm.
You knocked on Charlie’s door, and Aaliyah opened it, surprised to see you both.
“Mr and Mrs Shelby…”
“Aaliyah, we came to say good night to Charlie..”
She nodded and opened the door widely. Charlie was standing in his crib, clearly cranky.
“Oh, hello Charlie…” you greeted the toddler. His attention was on the giant dog.
“This is Storm…” you introduce them.
“Omm”, he exclaims.
Storm got excited, his tail wagging enthusiastically.
Thomas picked him up, kissing his cheeks, murmuring hello. Charlie leaned on his father, clearly exhausted from the day.
You felt like you were intruding on a very personal moment between a father and son. When Charlie fell asleep, Thomas put him in his crib. Storm whined because he didn’t get to play with the tiny human…
You shushed Storm, letting him out of the room. He trotted away to your room.
“Aaliyah, could you wait for us in the sitting room?” you asked. She left hurriedly.
“Thomas…stop scaring her”
“How am I scaring her?”
“Could you smile a little bit… put her at ease…”
“If you say so, darling.” you rolled your eyes at the moniker.
You joined Aaliyah in the sitting room. She looked fidgety.
“Aaliyah, there is no need to be nervous”, you smiled.
“Give us a schedule that works for you…and if you need additional help, let me know”, Tommy addressed her. You glared at him, “…please” Thomas added reluctantly like a scolded child.
“Yes, Mr Shelby…”
“Aaliyah.. if you need anything, reach out to Polly. We support education. Shelby Foundation will sponsor your studies.” Tommy informed. Aaliyah’s scared expression turned grateful. She had never had a chat with Tommy Shelby for more than five minutes that didn’t feature Charlie—seeing this different, approachable side of Tommy made her at ease. Every employee in the house had pointed it out, but she’d never seen it, but tonight she saw a man who had changed for the better, the woman responsible for this change wasn’t even aware of it.
His wife had made lives better for people before she came to this manor. You weren’t even aware of the role you played as a catalyst for so many changes around Tommy. A man who was feared and respected had become loveable for the people of Birmingham, all thanks to a bird named Y/N Y/L/N.

The Mesas of Deuteronilus Mensae (15/?)
Tumblr media
SOL 13
Mulder watched the hammer fall to the ground in detached fascination. It dropped in a slow, meandering descent before thunking to the rubber-like floor of the HAB, an eerie reminder that the gravity on Mars was one third of what it was back home. He was just finishing up an experiment in one of the labs. Ehrlich had called an all-hands meeting in the mess, and Mulder picked up the tool and stowed it before leaving the lab and making his way to join the rest of the crew.
He was one of the first to arrive and observed everyone else as they walked in, noting demeanor, mood. Any of the abundant minutiae the human body exhibited as evidence of the state of mind of its inhabitant. Observation was just as important as communication in determining the mental health of the only ten residents on the entire planet of Mars.
Ehrlich looked tense, but in control, her movements clipped and her chin lifted in an authoritative bent. She didn’t sit down right away. Lt. Commander Elmer, on the other hand, was loose-limbed and relaxed, and he sprawled in the chair when he sat, one arm thrown around the back of it. Elmer was a quick wit and had an easy-going manner, always ready with a joke or a smile, his straight teeth a bright white against the milk chocolate skin of his handsome face. Patel, Dutton and Hramic entered together, the three women calmly and quietly discussing their next EVA, which was a geologic survey. It was set to begin the next day werein they would be doing a thorough analysis of the base’s closest mesa. Henderson walked in next, his eyes rimmed in red with a tight set to his jaw. He had not yet regained his equilibrium after his panic attack on Sol 1. Mulder would have to keep an eye on him.
Next in was Shaw, who was quiet but seemed relaxed, and then Powers, who sat himself down next to Elmer, leaning in to crack a quiet joke at which the second-in-command threw his head back and gave a bark of delighted laughter. Scully was the last to arrive and the hardest for Mulder to read. She walked and sat with purpose in a chair on the same side of the table as Mulder, and she leveled her gaze at Ehrlich, her face relaxed, relaying a look of easy expectation.
Ehrlich cleared her throat and everyone quieted down.
“I have a couple of pieces of bad news,” she said, finally taking her seat. The room took on an uneasy silence. “We just got another radiation alarm. The sun is not messing around with these CMEs. All scheduled EVAs are hereby postponed at least 48 hours.” At this there was some grumbling. Like the fall-out shelters on the Larunda, the HAB was protected from the sun’s radiation by an artificial magnetic shield. Beyond the walls of the HAB, their hard suits offered very little protection.
Powers huffed a sigh. “What’s the rest of the bad news?” he asked.
“Robo-2 had a catastrophic transit failure,” she said, speaking of one of the three robots that had built the HAB and were now tasked with moving supplies from the M-L/AV to the base. “Half its haul got dumped into the regolith.”
“You’re kidding,” said Powers, whose face became serious. He had resurrected Robo-3 no less than three sols ago. There was an expectation that the crew would have access to the whole fleet.
“I’m not,” said Ehrlich grimly. “It lost a damn wheel and the seal breached. Spilled half its cargo.”
“That’s,” started Henderson with a grunt of disbelief. “That’s not possible. I ran a full check and diagnostic on Robo-2 right before it got loaded. It was in perfect working order.”
Ehrlich gave him a sympathetic look. “The hazards and perils of space exploration continue apace,” she said.
Mulder watched the engineer’s face. He was blinking rapidly. Mulder made a note to check in on the man — there was a chance he might have to pass a recommendation for duty-reduction up to Baker. If Henderson had made a mistake because of his current mental state, the next mistake could cost someone their life.
“What was Robo-2’s payload?” asked Scully, her voice smooth.
“Medical supplies,” Ehrlich answered, turning her sympathetic gaze toward the flight surgeon. “And I’m afraid we won’t be able to clean up the mess until the CME alert stands down.”
Scully gave a grunt of acquiescence and flicked her eyes toward Henderson. Mulder watched her clock the man’s somewhat disturbed mien and then her eyes moved slowly to connect with Mulder. He gave her a minute nod.
When the meeting broke, they each stayed behind under the guise of getting coffee. Powers was the last to leave, smirking a bit as he watched them lingering over the condiment/sugar station, Scully tapping a reusable stir stick a few extra times on the rim of her cup. When the payload specialist finally drifted out into the hallway outside the mess, Scully turned fully to Mulder.
“Henderson,” she said without preamble, leaning against the countertop and taking a cautious sip. “Do you think we have a problem?”
“I’d like to talk to him,” Mulder hedged. He didn’t want to take any action that might color the other colonists’ opinions on Henderson’s fitness for duty. That could breed prejudice and, eventually, resentment.
“Report back to me on his mental state?”
Mulder nodded.
“When you get a chance, I’d like to do an inventory of all medications on base. They’re in a lock box in the clinic. I’d like to go over any you’re unfamiliar with.” In addition to being a psychologist, Mulder was also licensed to prescribe medications as a psychiatrist, and would serve as backup pharmacist with instruction from the Mission Control Flight Surgeon, Baker, should Scully ever be incapacitated, rendered unfit, or more likely, out on extended EVA.
“Whenever you like,” Mulder smiled at her.
Her forehead crinkled briefly in consternation and Mulder gave her a questioning look.
“I’m curious what medical supplies Robo-2 dumped,” she explained.
Mulder nodded. “The CME won’t last forever,” he said. “I’m sure it’s all recoverable.”
“I’m sure you’re right,” she gave him a small smile.
“How are you settling in?”
“I’m settling.” Above their heads, the wind buffeted the material of the HAB. “I don’t think I’ll ever get used to that,” she went on, giving a little shudder.
“Wind could be at 80 knots and it would barely knock over a broom,” he said, trying to reassure her. It was true. The atmosphere was so thin there was barely any there there. “You don’t really have to worry about a puncture. Certainly not from out there.”
“I know this,” she said, not unkindly. “Intellectually, I know this.”
“Still gives you the wigs?”
She smiled. “Still gives me the wigs.”
God, her smile. It was like the planet had moved closer to the sun. Everything brightened.
“Me too,” he admitted.
She took another sip of her coffee and leaned more into the countertop behind her, settling in.
“Then how do you sleep?” she asked. “I’m fine all day and then as soon as I lay down I just — all I hear is that wind.”
“Have you tried earplugs?” he suggested, and her mouth turned down in a look of distaste. He sighed and went on. “I could tell you I use aromatherapy, or meditation, or some next-gen self-administered hypnosis, but to be honest with you, I put on a pair of headphones and watch a movie until I fall asleep.”
She looked at him with amused horror. “Mulder that’s mortifying. Think of the blue light. You’re probably making it worse.”
He laughed. “Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.”
“Doctor, heal thy self?”
“Something like that.” Mulder chuckled and took a sip of his own drink. Scully crossed her arms, and gave him an intense look that he felt all the way down to his toes.
“…What do you watch?” she asked.
Xx
God, he had bad taste in movies. But she did have to admit, but the time the line "But one thing's sure. Inspector Clay is dead, murdered, and somebody's responsible, " she wanted to be asleep too, so she didn’t have to watch this atrocious black & white schlock.
It did, however, feel good to be sitting next to him on his bunk, the skin of her leg overly warm from where it pressed against his. She had debated the merits of watching in his room with him when he offered, but the truth was, she was lonely. And despite the promises she’d made to protect her own heart, just about anything was better than being alone with only her thoughts and the relentless, rattling Martian wind.
“Okay, uncle,” she finally said, sitting up. “I can’t watch this anymore.”
“See?” he said, smiling. “The bliss of unconsciousness calls.” He reached forward and tapped a button on his laptop, pausing the playback.
“A frying pan to the temple would be bliss in comparison,” she said. “But you do you.”
His smile only widened. “You could always try the ear plugs,” he said.
“They’re moving up the list,” she said, chuckling.
“Oh yeah?” he said, his voice taking on husky after-nine quality. He looked engaged and focused on her, but also totally comfortable; his manner loose, rumpled and maybe a little sleepy. “Where do they stand now?”
“Hovering between Plan 9 From Outer Space and Ménage à moi,” she answered truthfully, and she watched something catch and flare behind his eyes.
She shouldn’t have said it, but it was late and he was so easy to flirt with. His eyes flicked to her lips and she decided right then that if he leaned in for a kiss — or something more — she wouldn’t deny him.
And he did lean in. He moved a hand to her knee, gripping her lightly, running his thumb along the fabric of her jumpsuit, once, twice. He telegraphed his ingress, giving her ample time to turn away or say something, but she found her lips parted slightly of their own volition and she felt herself tipping forward towards him, leading with her mouth.
BAM!
A calamitous crack shook the door to Mulder’s quarters, one single strike that was so hard the doorframe rattled where it connected with the wall. The two of them jumped apart and Scully found herself standing, hand pressed over her breast where her heart was pounding from an adrenal dump of cortisol.
“What the hell was that,” Mulder hissed, rising to his own feet. Scully shook herself and moved to the door, swinging it open, expecting to be met by another crew member or maybe even one of the assist-bots that could run tools or equipment throughout the HAB, but there was nothing there. She took a step out into the hallway and looked both directions, but she saw no one, only hearing a faint click that might have been a door closing, but could have just as easily been a remnant of the Martian wind on their habitat.
That night, not long after, alone in her own bed, sleep did not come.

Can I request Cody Rhodes dating Triple H’s daughter? Please?
Shy
Cody Rhodes x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: With his arrival in wwe, Cody finds himself infatuated with the shyest McMahon he’s ever met.
Warnings: none. No smut in this one, but there is and age gap between Cody and the reader.
Taglist: @fiskers7136 @peachmango-kombucha @kcloveswrestling @bellalutionn @xkennyxomegax
@omegasluvbot
And don’t worry @moxleyunstable I tagged you so you wouldn’t accidentally read it😊
You’re parents quickly realized that you weren’t going to be the type to want attention. Hunter could barely get you to go to the park, and Stephanie heard it over and over again from teachers; ‘she just doesn’t interact with the other kids.’ Of course it was a bit surprising seeing as you came from a family if entertainers, but neither of your parents pushed you past your breaking point. You liked to read with your mom, and color in your grandfathers office, but your favorite thing was watching wrestling with your father. The love never went away, and as you go older you watched any you could get your hands on.
Getting into the family businesses easy, but finding a job that would fit with your shyness was difficult. Luckily, it was suggested that you bring schedules and other things to the talent. The talent quickly got used to you, and you them. Making your job that much easier. Although one wrestler was sure to make you nervous, the newest member of raw, Cody Rhodes.
You had just gotten your list of jobs tonight, and were relieved that most of your jobs were with people you knew well. In fact, you were getting to spend quite a bit of time with AJ, one of your best friends. You were sure it probably looked weird that a father of four was friends with a single 20 something year old, but you got along together. It was the name that only was on once that terrified you. The American nightmare himself.
You still remembered the first time you saw Cody on tv. 17 years old, watching Raw in the living room while doing homework, and one of your favorites to this day Dusty showed up with his youngest son. Immediately you were crushing, and became and avid fan that followed his career.
You quickly decided you would save that for later, dashing off to help others.
————Cody————
Cody was just putting the finishing touches on his suit when there was a quiet knock on the door. He quickly walked over and opened it, reviling a women standing there. Her hair was pulled back and she had a clip board with her. She looked oddly familiar to him.
“Can I help you?” He questioned after a moment of silence. She turned beat red before speaking up.
“Yes, um. I have the schedule for tonight’s show. I’ll bring you it every week, along with anything else you might need…” she slowly got quieter as she spoke, making him strain to hear her at the end.
“Ok, thanks.” He said as she handed the paper over. “I’m Cody.” He stuck his hand out, waiting for her to take it. But that didn’t happen.
“I know.” She whispered.
“What?”
“I- um! Y/n McMahon.” She quickly said before rushing off, leaving him in the door way.
————reader————
“I’m an idiot…” you mumbled, your head in your hands. AJ chuckled at you as he got ready, listening to you sitting in the ground of his dressing room. “Who says ‘I know’ when someone is introducing themselves!” You threw your arms up in defeat.
“It definitely wasn’t your smoothest move, but look at the bright side. At least you haven’t had a crush on him since you were 17.”
“Shut up.” You mumbled, throwing an empty water bottle at him. You never should have admitted that to him.
“Ok! Stop throwing stuff.” He sat on the couch across from you. “Everyone I’ve talked to loved working with Rhodes, and he’s a good guy. I’m sure he won’t hold it against you.” He promised.
“I don’t believe you.” You said, pulling your hood up and pulling to closed.
“I know.” You could hear him moving around. “I’ll see you later squirt, iv got to get to the ring.” He rubbed your head as he walked by and out the door.
———————
“Are you sure your ok? Shawn is in town and could come pick you up.” You pulled your jacket on as you walked out of the building, talking to your dad in the phone.
“Don’t bother uncle Shawn dad. If I can’t get a ride by myself at 26 then i have a real problem.” You could hear your mom chuckling in the other end.
“I know, I know. I just worry. Make sure you text me when you get there.”
“I will. Love you daddy.”
“Love you too baby.” He said before hanging up. You sighed as you slid your phone into your pocket, you wouldn’t be surprised if you at least got a call from your fathers best friend. One downside of being so shy your whole life was that he was super overprotective.
“Talking to your dad?” You quickly spun around to see Cody standing there. He had changed out of his suit into a sweatshirt and shorts, his bag thrown over his shoulder. His smile showing off his teeth. “Or… I assume so?” He questioned when you realized you had been staring.
“Oh! I um, ya. My dad.” You mumbled, quickly looking down. Your face felt like it was in fire.
“Have we met before?”
“You mean before in your locker room?”
“Ya, I think I had seen you before I left six years ago.”
“Probably.” You shrugged. “I’ve been to events since before I could walk, but at the time I was just getting ready to start working.” You explained, starting to look up at home more.
“Well, it’s nice to officially meet you. Although, I’ve only gotten your last name.”
“Y/n.” You whispered, now fully looking at him. He looked even more handsome in person.
“Beautiful name y/n.” He said, once again making you blush. “Anyways, do you need a ride? I noticed there isn’t a car here.”
“Oh no, o have an Uber coming.” You quickly told him, but he shook his head.
“The last thing I need on my first week back is to be the last person to see the Bossmans granddaughter. I’ll give you a lift.” He made a motion towards what you could tell was his bus.
“I don’t want to impose.”
“I don’t mind. Much better then making the drive to the next town by myself. And my driver.” He explained. Before you could fully agree he had picked up your bag and you were following him to the bus. You both quickly got on, and you met the driver. Cody put your bag up so it wouldn’t slid around and you both sat on the couch.
“Well, we have a two hour drive. Tell me about yourself.” He tried, but you shook your head.
“There’s nothing to tell. I’m the most boring person ever.”
“Come on, I’m sure you’ve got some cool stories.”
“Nothing like traveling to Japan and helping start a company.” You said.
“You sound like a fan.” He smirked, and you felt a bit brave.
“More of an MJF girl actually.” He put his hand to his chest as though you had just stabbed him.
“My enemy!?” You just shrugged, giggling a bit.
“What can I say? It’s something about him.”
“Of course, the first attractive girl I talk to here is a max fan.” You felt your heart flutter at his words. He thought you were attractive.
“To be fair, before that I was a big Cody Rhodes fan.” You admitted.
“So you admit it!” He pointed at you as though he caught you.
“I was even a stardust fan.” You mumbled, hiding your face in your hands as he laughed.
“No one liked him.”
“I was like 19!” You tried to defend yourself. “And I had a stupid crush and…” you stoped when you realized what you said, your eyes going wide.
“What was that last part?” He asked, and could practically hear his smirk.
“Nothing.” You quickly said, pulling your phone out. Before you could distract yourself with it he grabbed it making you look at him. “Hey!”
“Just, the last thing one more time. I couldn’t hear you.”
“It was nothing.” You tried again, but he continued to smile at you.
“Because it sounded like you said you had a crush on me.”
“I was 17, a laps I judgment.” Your tried, making him chuckle.
“Of course. So it 9 years do you think I’ll decide I was having a laps in judgment?”
“What?” You frowned at him.
“I mean, I did find a girl I had talked to once and bring her on my bus. But maybe I’ll regret it in a decade.”
“Why wait that long?”
“Because,” he took your chin in his hand. “I know I won’t regret it right now.” You hadn’t realized just how close you both were on the couch. “Do you regret getting on?”
You shook your head a bit and he leaned forward a bit, letting you close the gap. His lips were slightly chapped, and when he opens his mouth you could taste a mix of mint and cigars. His hands went down to your hips, pulling you closer with his calloused hands. Your own held his shoulders, sliding to feel the bit of hair on his neck. When you pulled away he pushed your head back, kissing your neck lightly. You were taking deep breaths while tugging lightly at his hair.
“Come on.” He whispered, laying you down on the couch to hover over you. “Do you want me to stop?”
“No.”
——————
You woke up slowly, feeling small kissed being placed on the back of your neck, and arm wrapped tightly around your body. You rolled over to see two bright blue eyes.
“Good morning.” His voice still had the deep morning sound to it. You let your forehead rest on his chest.
“Are we in North Carolina?”
“Got here last night. Driver just left us alone.” He explained, rubbing little circles on your back. “If you want your welcome to shower, then I thought about taking you to breakfast.” You looked up, a bit surprised. You may not hook up on the normal, but you were aware of how it tended to work.
“Really?”
“Um.. ya. I was hoping this could be something a little more then just sleeping together once.” He seemed slightly nervous.
“You want to go out with the bosses granddaughter?”
“I helped start a rival company. I think I can handle this.” He joked, making you smile. “So, what do you say?”
“Ya, I’ll get breakfast with you Cody.” You agreed. He smiled before getting up, and go to what you could see was a small bathroom. You rolled over and saw your phone grabbing it. Immediately you saw a tone of missed calls from your dad and Shawn. This would be a fun conversation.

Have a nice day lovely!😘
This ones so sweet so I honestly can’t wait to get started. Hope yer having a great day, love x
FYI: let’s say Belphie wasn’t trapped in the attic for this HC just to make it so that he didn’t murder a child-
Brothers + Dateables Reaction to Teen MC
————————————
Lucifer
When he first chose you for the exchange program, he kind of expected someone... older?
But instead here you were, another chihuahua
To his surprise, you had your calm moments but you also had your energetic moments where you and Mammon would cause problems upon problems around the house
To say you got annoying quickly would be an understatement, but weirdly, he saw you as his own kid and he did anything to protect you
If you were upset, he was straight at your side with a cup of hot chocolate and asking who made you upset, just like a worried parent would
He felt so relieved when after a couple months passed you began to calm down and sit with him and just talk about life and how you’re handling RAD
The first time you gave him a hug he was genuinely surprised and wasn’t sure what to do but he honestly could’ve cried
Mammon
As soon as he saw you he just went straight to the chihuahua jokes. He loved your size cause it meant he could use you as his arm rest whenever he wanted
Immediately took you under his wing and became an older brother figure to you, keeping you safe and rarely letting anyone touch you
He’s like the cool older brother you’ve always wanted who buys you little gifts every now and again as a surprise and makes you laugh all the time
He loves how energetic you are and how much fun you two have together tormenting his brothers
Seeing you sad is something he never wants to see, and I can promise you that sadness will not last long with Mammon by your side
Any type of affection you give him makes him so so happy, like hearing a child say their first word
Honestly though, he likes the chill side of you too where you two can just sit back, watch a movie and say “it’s you” at every unattractive character the both of you come across
Leviathan
Children really wasn’t his thing and he was not expecting to have to look after the exchange student
But after a while, you turned out to be pretty cool since you two shared a lot of hobbies together and you even cosplay with him on certain occasions
He’s a literal older brother figure to you and it makes him elated to have you as his Henry
You two shop for endless useless crap on Akuzon together and get yelled at by Lucifer for blocking the entrance with all the boxes
He’s comfortable around you, especially as you eventually began to calm down and the only thing you wanted to do was stay up all night and laze around in his bedroom all day
If you were ever sad, he’ll quickly turn on your favourite anime or movie and wrap you up in a huge blanket. He never wants to see you upset
You may have given him a heart attack the first time you hugged him though but he was so close to crying, it may’ve been the best day of his life
Satan
Energetic short stack as the new exchange student? No thanks
Sort of just attempted to avoid you the first couple days but you kept on following him, asking him so many questions
But after a while, he began to gradually warm up to you and even shared some of his books with you and read them to you when you had trouble sleeping
The bond he has with you isn’t exactly brotherly, it’s more like the chill uncle that gives you extremely old shit that you never knew you needed
He lowkey protects you with his life though. If someone says something mean to you, he’s the first person who’s at your aid
If you’re upset, he’ll sort that problem out super fast. You won’t be sad on his watch
Didn’t know how to respond the first time you gave him a hug so he pat your head and then it kinda stuck so now whenever you hug him, he gives your head a gentle pat
Asmodeus
Nobody really thought having you around Asmo was a good idea, but actually, you two weren’t a bad match
He definitely without a doubt had that favourite gay brother vibe where he’d dress you up pretty and talk to you about relationships and emotions
He always made you feel good about yourself and made it his mission to never see you sad or lonely
If you ever were, he’ll be like your personal servant until you weren’t. Gifts, words of affirmation, quality time, he’d do anything to see you stay happy
Brought you gifts home occasionally and asked you to try them on if the gift was clothes or accessories and let you try his perfume and lip gloss from time to time
Seeing you gradually grow as you became more comfortable with his brothers and him was such a proud moment for him
He gave you the biggest hug back when you first gave him a hug, he was so excited
Beelzebub
Same with Asmo, nobody thought it was a good idea being around him, especially with his tendencies to eat just about anything
But he was alright with you, he walmed up to you pretty quick and soon took you under his wing like he had another little sibling to look after
Brought you snacks whenever you asked him to and made sure you had a smile on your face constantly
He got so worried if you were upset and even got a little upset himself, so he’d spent more time with you and tell you how great you are until you were happy
If you asked him to, he’d lift you up onto his shoulders and walk around with you just to hear you laugh and feel so tall compared to all the others
Watching you settle down from being this once energetic kid to a calmer one was heartwarming to him and he now enjoys nothing more than sitting back, sharing snacks and throwing popcorn into your mouth when you two watch a movie
He actually cried when you hugged him, no joke, this man was close to sobbing
Belphegor
Another annoying chihuahua around? He’ll pass...
It’s not like he ever actually sees any of his brothers anyway since he sleeps so much, but you just wouldn’t leave him alone for some reason
Sometimes he’d unknowingly wake up to you on the opposite side of the bed after joining him in a nap or on the floor playing on your phone waiting for him to wake up so you could talk to him
After a while, he sort of just got used to you being around him and even enjoyed waking up to find you laying on the ground on your phone
Sometimes you were a bit too energetic for his liking but spending the nights awake with you were always his favourite parts of the day
Once he found you sat in a ball on his floor crying and he’d never gotten up from a nap faster as he sat next to you with a blanket, continuously telling you jokes until you finally smiled
Wasn’t too bothered about you hugging him for the first time, he just smiled, pat your head and went back to sleep
Diavolo
Never expected such a young person to be the new exchange student but he welcomed you with open arms either way
He found it interesting how you didn’t fear any of them at first glance so visited you often to check up on you
Eventually Diavolo visited every day, asking you about RAD and life in the Devildom and even brought you cakes that Barbatos made sometimes
He became a dad figure to you, protecting you and giving you special Prince privileges like allowing you to come over any time you liked
Couldn’t stand the days you came over with a frown on your face from having a bad day at RAD and made sure you were totally comfortable and happy by his side for the rest of the day
It was always a pleasure to see you come over with Barbatos by your side and smile so widely when you see him, it made his heart ache
He may’ve gotten too excited when you first hugged him and squeezed you a bit too hard. The man hasn’t hugged anyone in a while though so can you blame him?
Barbatos
Never expected a human this young to pop out of the portal
But like everybody else, he accepted you as part of the Devildom now and was the very first person to send you a welcome text
He slowly began to become interested in you and visited from time to time; bringing round treats that he’d made at the castle
Schedules little cooking days with you and Luke and loves how you both help him in the kitchen and adores how much you smile when you apply icing to your cakes
Becomes the person you go to when you have something on your mind and he normally drops everything when you come to visit just so he can talk to you
Seeing you sad makes him sad too, so he helps you as best as he can, no matter what he was previously doing. You’re what’s most important right now
Hugs aren’t particularly his thing but a hug from you always makes his day so much better
Simeon
Another child? He’s sorta glad it’s not him who has to look after you since he already has Luke
Well in the end, he sorta does mainly look after you after the amount of times you visit him unannounced
He’s without a doubt the sweet and accepting dad figure to you as he always listens and he understands and he always knows how to cheer you up
You won’t be sad for long with him by your side, he’s just got that vibe about him. It’s imposible to stay upset
Takes you to little cafés when you’re sad and likes to join you and Luke when you’re cooking with Barbatos
Gets emotional when he sees you grow to become apart of every ones life and become so at home and attached to everyone around you
He’ll never forget that first hug you gave him, it reminds him of when Luke gives him one when he gets lonely so he loved every second of it
Solomon
Started to tease you straight away. It can’t be helped when you’re almost the same size as Luke
Never expected to get so close to you and now he’s willingly to protect you with his life. Crazy
You can’t stay sad when he’s around, it’s not possible. He knows exactly how to cheer you up and doesn’t stop until he sees that frown of yours disappear
Comes to visit you once in a while when he has time just to cause trouble around the house and piss off the brothers and chat with you and Asmo
Now Solomon is the definition of cool uncle. He’ll show you shit that’ll make your day, bring you gifts and stupid unnecessary items and just make you laugh so hard that your stomach will hurt
Still teases you from time to time and you become his arm rest for the rest of the year, but on the plus side, he teleports you to the human world to get icecream
Never thought he’d see the day where he’d get a hug, especially from you, so he made it last as long as he could. It felt nice to be appreciated
Luke
Unsurprisingly, you two got along straight away, I mean, two short people in the Devildom gotta stick together, right?
Pretty much began to live at eachothers house with the amount of times you two would visit
Protects you from the demons at least twice a day and tries his best to swat away Solomon and Mammon from leaning on your head
Becomes your new younger brother and he’ll do anything to keep you safe as well as happy and laughing
His heart hurt when he sees his new friend sad, so he asks Simeon if he could take the two of you to get your favourite treats and he’s relieved when he sees you smile again
His favourite days are when you two bake cakes with Barbatos, he likes hanging around with you because you make everything more fun
Couldn’t believe it when you hugged him for the first time and couldn’t help hugging you tighter so it was like watching two little kids see eachother for the first time in months

Tumblr media
Summary:  Pietro Maximoff is handsome and popular, but he can't date before his twin sister. The problem is that no one can get close to his sister, Wanda Maximoff. To resolve the situation, a girl interested in Pietro bribes a colleague with a mysterious past to go out with Wanda and, who knows, try to win her over. Or The one directly inspired by 10 Things I Hate About You.
Words:  6.553K  /// Read on AO3 too || Part Two
Warnings: PG, fluff, language; goth wanda is back thank god.
Notes: If English is your native language and I used slang that doesn't make sense at all, forgive me. It is really hard to translate many dialects from Portuguese to English. Anyways enjoy your reading!
You rode your skateboard to school today. Your mother was angry with you and took the keys to your motorcycle while yelling that you were difficult to raise, so you grabbed your backpack and skateboard while slamming the door on your way out.
It didn't take long to get to school, though.
You absolutely hate this place. Sometimes you get the impression that you are surrounded by completely mental people.
You walked across the parking lot and got off your skateboard, quickly waving to your friend Carol Danvers, who was smoking leaning against the wall of the school building. You would have to talk to them later, as you had a meeting scheduled with the school principal.
Shrugging off the students as you entered the building, you ignored the stares you received and headed toward Ms. Harkness' office.
You entered without knocking because the door was already open, since she was talking to another student, and when the stranger got up she almost tripped over you on her way out. The principal raised her eyes from her notebook to you, and smiled wryly.
- Well, well, Miss Y/L/N. - she said. - I see these encounters of ours are becoming recurrent.
- I like to be around beautiful women, Miss Harkness. - You stated with a charming smile and crossed arms. The woman laughed lightly as she returned her gaze to her notebook.
- Let me see what happened here. - She mumbled to herself, probably trying to find the notes. - Wow, top nudity exhibit in the cafeteria.
You scratched your head impatiently.
- They were melons, Miss Harkness. - You clarified. - I was making a little joke.
Harkness let out a wry chuckle as she stood up.
- How about you keep them under your blouse, huh? - She scoffed, pointing slightly at the height of your breasts and giving you a wink. You frowned. - Out!
You startled slightly, and Mrs. Harkness giggled, returning to her seat.
You blinked in confusion and turned away, mumbling wryly that she was an excellent professional before you left.
//-//
Carol was waiting for you outside the room, a few feet ahead in the hallway against her own lockers, and you greet her with a kiss on the cheek quickly.
- How did it go today? Did she say anything interesting? - Carol asked with humor in her voice. You leaned your back against the closet, letting out a chuckle.
- No way. - You replied. - She just told me to keep my breasts under my blouse.
Carol laughs lightly, while you check your cell phone. And then she touches your arm lightly. When you raise your eyes to her, she signals the corridor.
- New faces. - She nods, and you notice that it's the same girl who bumped into you in the Harkness room. Now she is accompanied by Bruce Banner, who was clearly showing her around.
- Wow, people keep choosing to come to this place. - You mock, making your friend laugh a little.Carol then checks the clock on her wrist and signals that she needs to get to her history class.  You say goodbye to her, but get distracted by your cell phone again, and then the bell rings, and you have to run to get to the literature room on the other side of the building.
//-//
You stumble into the room, and all the students turn to look at you.
- What have I missed? - you ask, trying to normalize your breathing after running through the halls.
- The oppressive patriarchal values that determine our education. - replied a girl you didn't know.
- Nice. - You grumble with a slight laugh, as you hurry to sit in the back of the room.
- You must love detention, don't you, Miss Y/L/N? This is your third delay this week. - commented the teacher as soon as you sat down. Several giggles were heard, but you didn't pay much attention. You threw your bag on the chair and tried to pretend that you were interested in whatever Professor Fury was teaching.
- Professor Fury, any chance you could ask Wanda to take her Midol before coming to class? - scoffed Pepper Potts, one of the most popular and insufferable girls at this school. You rolled your eyes at the teasing, and leaned back as the rest of the class giggled.
- One of these days Mrs. Maximoff is going to punch you in the nose, and I'm not going to do anything to stop her. - Fury replied seriously, wiping the ironic smile off Potts' face. - And Wanda, I want to thank you for your point of view. I know how hard it must have been to overcome all those years of upper middle-class suburban oppression. It must be hard. - He sneered and then started walking toward the girl who was probably Wanda. - But the next time you protest about demanding better food, or whatever it is that white kids protest about, ask them why they don't buy books written by black people!
You let out a little laugh, and Professor Fury looked at you seriously.
- Do you find something funny, Miss?
You shrugged, straightening your posture.
- Sorry to interrupt your speech, Mr. Fury. - You say. - But you're blaming Wanda for something she has no control over. Wouldn't it be better to suggest books written by black women, instead of separating the fights?
Professor Fury blinks in irritation at you, while Wanda looks in your direction, looking surprised.
- Out. Principal office. - says the professor, and you blink in surprise. - Both of you, by the way! You pissed me off!
You grumble, and grab your backpack and leave the room, with Wanda following behind. But you don't speak to her, and when you leave the room, you go to opposite sides of the hallway, since you had no intention of seeing the principal at all.
//-//
You ended up skipping the last two classes of the day while sneaking a smoke with Carol behind the bleachers of the soccer field.
And then you accepted the ride home that she offered you.
- See you tomorrow, troublemaker. - She said good-bye, and you just nodded as you walked toward the front door.
Your mother was at home, sitting at her computer in the living room, and you thought maybe you could sneak past her, but as soon as you closed the door she turned around with her arms crossed.
- The school called. - She said as she stood up, and you let out an impatient sigh as you threw your backpack on the floor by the door. - Are you trying to get suspended?
- Oh yeah, that's my dream. - You scoff, walking toward the kitchen.
- You're going to be grounded.
- I'm already grounded. - You retort softly, and your mother walks over to the counter.
- You think I'm kidding? - She exclaims angrily, and then she's heading down the hall, and you're curious what she's going to do, so you follow her through the house to the garage. You look impassive as she glances around, but then she grabs a hammer and screwdriver from the cabinet and heads for her motorcycle. Your whole body tenses up, but before you can do anything, your mother is breaking your bike.
- You've gone crazy! - You shout as you run toward her, but she turns threateningly toward you with the objects pointed in your direction
- No more fighting! - she shouts. - You're not going anywhere on this damn motorcycle, do you hear me? You are grounded until college.
And then she throws the tools on the floor, and leaves the garage. You take a deep breath, trying not to break everything in front of you, and turn to your motorcycle. Some parts were broken, but you could fix them. The problem would be having the money to do it.
//-//
Tuesday started with biology. And you were really pissed off about the whole thing with your mom and your motorcycle. The professor asked the groups to dissect frogs, and the damn scalpel he handed out wasn't cutting anything. So you grabbed your knife hidden in your boot, and angrily pierced the animal.
- You've lost your mind, put that away! - ordered Carol sitting next to you as she looked around to see if the teacher had seen. You let out an angry sigh and put the item away.
You were bored, and you smoked when you were bored. So you turned the valve on the experimental flame on the bench while putting a cigarette in your mouth, and walked over to light it.
- Girl, what's the matter with you today? - Carol asked impatiently, closing the valve and taking the cigarette out of your mouth.
You mumbled without answering, and she let out a dry laugh before going back to writing. Your gaze wandered around the room and you thought that the new girl and Bruce Banner were looking at you from the table in front of you, but they looked away quickly, so you got distracted again.
//-//
The next class was better because it kept your hands busy. Mechanics with Professor Howard Stark was interesting as he allowed the students to experiment as much as they wanted.
At this moment you were welding a car part while trying not to burn your fingers when you heard a female voice next to you.
- Hi, how are you? - the girl said, and as you turned you realized that it was the new student. You frowned confused, you don't talk to anyone. You thought you should have an aggressive posture, because the girl's voice trembled a little, and then she quickly said good-bye and left the room. You shook your head and went back to concentrating on the lesson.
- What the hell was that all about? - Carol asked from beside you, and you shrugged.
- I told you there are only crazy people in this school. - You remarked with amusement.
- But we go here. - She retorted with a smile.
- Exactly.
Carol laughed and turned her attention back to her own activity.
//-//
In Gym class, the teacher took all the students to the outdoor field, where the rugby team was practicing. He was more concerned about the girls' performance, so he let the rest of the class do as they pleased. Then you and Carol sat down on one of the benches, while you shared a cigarette.
And you had about ten minutes of peace before Pepper Potts and one of her friends came to talk to you.
- Hey, what's up? - asked the blonde, and you looked at her with irony.
- Are you lost? - You replied aggressively, but she didn't seem intimidated.
- See that girl over there? - She said, pointing quickly toward the field. You followed her direction, and it was the same girl from literature class. - That's Wanda Maximoff. I want you to go out with her.
You laughed, shaking your head, and then took a drag on your cigarette.
- As if, preppy. - You denied it as you exchanged a look with Carol, who was grinning in disbelief.
But Pepper was not joking.
- Look, I can't go out with her hot brother until she dates. - She clarifies. - Their father is kind of crazy, he made a rule...
- Touching. Really. I'm moved. - You mock without patience. - But that's not my problem.
- Would it be your problem if you were paid a nice fee?
You let out a dry laugh, looking at her in surprise.
- Are you going to pay me to go out with someone? - you ask, and Potts has a smile on her face as she nods in agreement. You laugh again. - How much?
- Twenty dollars.
You raise your eyebrows, really considering this for a second. And then you look toward the field, and watch as Wanda fouls a girl to the ground, and you swallow dryly. This girl was going to eat you alive.
- Okay, how about 30 bucks? - Potts next suggests when she sees the foul.
You thought about the parts of your motorcycle that you would have to buy. And you licked your lips before you spoke.
- Let's take a good look at this. - You start. - If I take her to the movies, it will be fifteen dollars. And if we buy popcorn, it's fifty dollars. I like to buy candy for the girls, so it would be about seventy-five.
- This is not a negotiation. - Potts retorts angrily. - Take it or leave it, mutt.
You let out a humorless laugh.
- But I think it is, Potts. - You retort, smoking your cigarette again. - Or I'll go over there now and tell Wanda your whole touching little tale.
Potts blinks in irritation, and lets out a wry laugh. But then she relaxes her posture.
- Eighty dollars. - she says. You smile, throwing the cigarette on the floor and putting it out with your foot.
- Deal, Hollywood. - You tell her, and raise your hand in her direction. Potts rolls her eyes, but takes the money from her pocket and hands it to you.
She and her friend then leave, and you settle into your seat.
- You're crazy. - Carol declares afterwards.
- Yes, I know. - You say, brushing your hair out of your eyes with your hands. - But I need new parts. It'll be harmless, it's just a date.
- I hope you're right. - She comments with a laugh, turning her attention back to the field. And then practice ends, and you exchange a look with Carol before getting up and walking toward the players' benches.
You assume your most charming pose as you approach Wanda.
- Hey, pretty girl. - You greet her with a smile as she drinks water from a bottle. She frowns in surprise, and has a wry smile on her face. - What's up?
- I'm sweating like a pig, how are you? - She answers wryly, and you smile awkwardly.
- Wow, that sounds attractive. - You reply in the same tone, watching her put the bottle of water in her backpack on the bench.
- Oh, yes. My goal in life is to look attractive all the time. - She scoffs, frowning. - But I guess it works, since I got your attention. The world makes sense again.
She starts walking toward the exit of the camp, and you are a bit taken aback by the irony, but hurry to keep up with her.
- I'll pick you up on Friday, then. - You tell her, and Wanda lets out a laugh.
- Sure, Friday. - She wryly continues walking.
- Hey, it's the night I take you to places you've never seen.
- To a convenience store on Broadway? - She replies with irony. - Girl, do you even know my name?
You laugh.
- Wanda. - You answer, but she doesn't seem impressed. - And I know more than you know.
- I doubt it. I doubt it very much. - She said ironically and you stopped following her, biting your lip as you watched her walk off the field.
//-//
Your first attempt to get a date with Wanda had not gone well at all, but you are optimistic. And then, on Saturday of that same week, while you and Carol were at the laundromat on the corner of your houses, she nodded slightly outside through the window.
- Isn't that the car of the girl you're being paid to date? - She mocked, and you sighed.
- Don't talk like that. - you said as you put the coins in the washing machine. - It makes me sound like a psychopath.
She laughed without looking at you, kneeling on the waiting couch as she looked out the window.
- I think I should look for a new rejection. - You grumble, handing Carol some coins. - Take care of my clothes while I go talk to her, please.
Carol nods in agreement as you leave the establishment. Crossing the street, you look in the direction of Wanda's car. It is nice, and you are watching the tires as she arrives.
- Are you following me? - She asks with a mixture of aggressiveness and surprise.
- What? Of course not! - You deny it, but with the suspicious look on her face, you try to add. - I was in the laundry room, smarty-pants. I saw your car, and wanted to say hello.
She lets out a sigh, and shrugs her shoulders, heading for the door. You hurry to stand in front of her, a charming smile on your lips.
- I notice that you don't talk much. - You remark, and Wanda frowns, crossing her arms.
- It depends on the subject. - She says. - Talking about the tires on my car doesn't cause me a verbal frenzy.
- You're not afraid of me, are you? - you ask, and she looks at you incredulously.
- Why would I be afraid of you?
- Most people are. - You retort, and Wanda rolls her eyes with irony.
- Well, I don't.
You smile and move a little closer.
- Not afraid, but I bet you've imagined me naked, haven't you? - You tease and give a little wink. Wanda keeps her face almost angry.
- Wow, is it that obvious? - She retorts. - I want you so bad, baby.
She mocks last before bending down slightly and opening the car door, pushing you with the metal.
You let out an impatient sigh as you step back, and she gets into the car and prepares to leave. You stand with your arms folded trying to think how exactly you are going to make this work.
And then Pepper Potts parks her car right behind Wanda's, preventing her from leaving, while the blonde steps out of the vehicle with a smiling, arrogant posture.
- My God, is it idiots' day today? - Wanda complains from inside the car. When Pepper passes by her window, she shouts: - Do you mind girl?
- Not even a little, bitch. - Potts retorts without looking at her as she walks away.
But then Wanda is backing the car up, and the next moment Pepper's red Cadillac has a big bump mark on the side. You laugh in surprise, not believing that she had actually hit the car.
- My God, you are completely crazy! - Potts shouts as she observes the impact.
- Oops. - You hear Wanda scoff.
You laughed again, before going back to the laundry room.
//-//
It was Monday again, and you were trying to have a quiet day. But while you were putting your books away in your locker, Potts approached you.
- When I pay for something, I expect results. - She says, and you close the closet to brace yourself against it.
- I'm trying.
- Watching that lunatic destroy my car doesn't count as a date. - She retorts with mild irritation. - If you don't go out with her, I won't get Pietro. Then get something soon, okay?
That girl's audacity pissed you off.
- I just raised the price. - You tell her, and she looks at you in disbelief.
- Excuse me?
- One hundred and fifty dollars a date. - You say. - In advance.
- Forget it. - She said angrily, turning away.
- Then forget about her brother.
Potts lets out a grumble and then turns to you again, hurrying to get the money.
- Does this kid have a gold dick by any chance? - You scoff, and Potts gives you the middle finger, making you laugh.
- You better get the date, sister. - She says, and you just smile before heading off in the direction of the mechanics' classroom.

You were trying to find the correct melting point for one of the tools when you were approached by the same girl as the last time you had mechanics.
- I know what you are trying to do with Wanda Maximoff. - She announces, and you let out a wry chuckle as you continue your attention to the tools in front of you.
- Really? And what are you going to do about it?
- Help you.
You blink in surprise as you raise a large metal bar at your eye level to identify its features.
- Why? - you ask, and it is not the girl who speaks next.
- The situation is that my friend Monica, is in love with Pietro Maximoff. - A male voice speaks, and then you look quickly to identify Bruce Banner.
- God, this kid must really have a gold cock. - You mumble with irony as you place the iron bar on the table, and take off your protective gloves.
- Believe me when I tell you that Monica's love is pure, she wants to date him. - Banner explains as you walk to another table in the room, looking for your notes. - Unlike Pepper Potts, who only wants to use him as a trophy.
- Look, I'm only in this for the money. I don't give a shit who Potts is fucking. - You respond without patience, and Monica seems to get irritated with you, but Banner calms her down.
You make some notes regarding the lesson and walk over to the table to analyze the pictures of the tools as you organize them. Monica and Banner follow you.
- Listen, Y/N, we are the ones who planned this story so that Monica and Pietro could date. - Banner says. - Potts is just the go-between.
You laugh with surprise.
- And you are going to help me win Wanda over?
- That's right. - They both say in unison. You turn your attention back to the materials in front of you.
- We will investigate what she likes. - Banner says. - You need our help.
Bruce smiled amiably, and you laughed at the posture he assumed.
- Look, we'll start here. - He began by pulling a piece of paper from his pocket. - On Friday, Stephen Strange is having a party. It's the perfect opportunity.
- Perfect for what? - you ask, looking at him.
- For you to invite Wanda. - He clarifies, and you sigh impatiently, already tired of this conversation.
- I'll think about it. - You say finally and walk to the other side of the room, and this time, they don't follow you.
//-//
It was Wednesday, and you and your friends went to a bar to play a bit of pool shortly after school. Your mother had no idea you were here, but she was working, so she wouldn't know.
You got a text message from Bruce, wanting to meet you along with Monica, and you laughed when you sent the location. They really weren't the kind of people who hang around this place.
You were upstairs, drinking some beer when you saw them come in, and nodding slightly to Carol, you went downstairs and walked over to them.
- So, what do you have for me? - you asked, leaning against a wall.
- Before we get started, I have a question. - says Bruce. - Is it true that you are on probation?
You laugh in surprise.
- What?
- Bruce, shut up. - said Monica, tapping her colleague on the shoulder. And then she turned to you. - First thing, Wanda hates smokers.
- Okay, I hate them too.
You mock, but Monica and Bruce look serious, so you sigh, and take out of your pocket your cigarette case, handing it to the girl.
- There is another problem, Pietro told me that Wanda likes pretty girls.
They look at you for a moment and you frown.
- Are you saying that I'm not pretty? - you ask, straightening your posture.
- You are beautiful! Monica, she's so beautiful, what are you saying? - hurried Bruce almost in terror. You wanted to laugh.
Monica nods quickly in agreement, and you lean back against the wall.
- Look, I made a list. - She hastens to say, pulling a piece of paper from her shirt pocket. - Wanda's tastes are: Sokovian food, feminist poetry, punk and alternative music. And there is a list of the CDs she had in her room.
She says, handing the paper to you. You let out a sigh.
- So should I buy some soup, a book, and ear plugs for some really noisy concert?
They both shrug, smiling slightly.
- Have you ever been to the Skrull Club, west side of town? - Banner asks.
You chuckle.
- It's a nice place, but not really my style.
- Well, it will have to be. - says Monica. - Her favorite group is playing there tomorrow night.
You run your fingers through your hair, sighing.
- Come on, Y/N, it's only for one night. - says Banner. - We're sure she'll be there, Mon found the tickets.
- She also has a black lingerie set. - Added Monica and you frown with confusion.
- Why is this relevant? - You asked, and Monica looked away, looking embarrassed. You laughed lightly, but didn't push it. Then you looked at both of them. - Okay, I'll drop by.
Bruce and Monica both let out excited exclamations and then waved goodbye. You laughed and shook your head, wondering what you had gotten yourself into.
//-//
The Skrull Club was generally frequented by the punk crowd in town, many women from extremist feminist movements hung out here. But in general it was a pretty diverse crowd of rockers, punks, goths and allies. And the drink was cheap.
You received a few curious glances as you walked through the dimly lit corridors of the nightclub, but it was more because these clubs were generally frequented by the same people, and you’re a familiar face.
The place was very crowded, and you had to dodge a lot of people until you reached the main dance floor, trying to find Wanda.
You smiled when you finally saw her, in the first row, dancing with a girl who was also from your school. You thought she looked pretty, in her black dress and red jacket, plus a knee-length black stocking and dark boots on her feet. She might have looked intimidating, but she was still very pretty.
You don't quite understand why your heart races at the image of her dancing and smiling, so you think it best to get a drink, and turn toward the bar.
You sit there, trying to decide how you are going to approach her, but then Wanda is coming toward the bar, and you disguise yourself by looking the other way.
- You don't give up, do you? - She says as soon as she sees you. And walks over to where you are sitting. - If you're planning on asking me out, you can just give up!
- Do you mind? I'm trying to hear the music. - You hit back without looking at her.
-You're not surrounded by your typical cloud of smoke. -She comments after a moment, and you take a sip of the drink you ordered before answering.
- Yes, I quit. They say it's bad for your health. - You say it with a slight irony.
- Do you think so? - Wanda looks slightly surprised, and you give her a short smile before standing up.
- These guys aren't the Kree's, but they play well. - You comment on her favorite band before heading off toward the dance floor. Wanda hurries to follow you.
- Do you know who the Kree's are? - she asks in surprise.
- Why, you don't know? - You reply with irony.
She doesn't answer, looking mildly impressed. You smile briefly.
- I was watching you dance. - You comment as the band is finishing the song. - I don't think I've ever seen you so sexy.
And then the song ends exactly with your line, and the whole club hears you. Several people giggle, and you feel your cheeks heat up, but Wanda laughs too, and that relaxes you.
- Come to Stephen Strange's party with me. - You ask her. And she tilts her head slightly to the side, still smiling.
- You never give up, do you?
And then another song starts, and Wanda is coming back to the front of the stage.
- Is that a yes? - you shout at her.
- No!
- Was that a no?
It takes a second, but she shouts back.
- No!
You grin.
- See you at 9:30! - You shout to her before she disappears into the crowd.
You're smiling all the way home.
//-//
You were early. But you were so anxious about it that you left the house as quickly as possible.
And then you arrived at Wanda's door, but as soon as you went to knock, she opened it.
- What are you doing here? - she asked in surprise.
- 9:30. - You answer. - Yeah, well, I'm early.
- Whatever, I'm driving. - She says and then you look into the house and see Pietro Maximoff with a kangaroo baby carrier outfit occupied with a doll and frown.
- May I ask what that is? - You remark, and Wanda just rolls her eyes at the scene, then turns to you.
- My father is a little neurotic about this whole pregnancy thing. - She answers and walks outside. You both wait for Pietro.
- At least he doesn't use a real baby. - You joke and Wanda smiles. But then Pietro leaves the house, looking slightly annoyed, and you hurry to Wanda's car.
It doesn't take long to get to the party.
The place was packed. Probably the whole school was here. And as soon as Wanda found a parking place, Pietro got out and disappeared into the crowd.
You decided to accompany Wanda as she entered the house. You went toward the second floor, and you lost sight of Wanda when a girl jumped on you, completely drunk and trying to kiss you.
- Wow, slow down there. - You said, helping her sit up. You found several empty and sealed bottles of water in one of the liquor containers around the house and handed one to her. - I want you to drink it all, okay?
The girl whimpered in confusion, but you waited. She seemed better, but you handed her another bottle just to be sure.
- Hey Peggy, I found you! - said a skinny boy you didn't know, walking up to you. He frowned, slightly startled, when he noticed you.
- Are you a friend of hers? - You asked him with distrust, and he nodded, looking mildly frightened.
- Yes, he is. This is Steve. - mumbled the girl sitting up, looking like she had a headache. - Thanks for the water, by the way.
- No problem. - You say. - Are you feeling well enough to be alone?
She nods slightly as she speaks:
- Yes, yes. Steve will take care of me now. Thanks again.
And then you patted Steve on the arm, and left the two of them, walking back through the crowd.
It took you many minutes to find Wanda again, because the party is so crowded. And when you reached her, she was pouring a glass of drink into her mouth.
- Hey, I've been looking all over for you. - You announce mildly annoyed. - What the hell are you doing?
- Getting drunk! - she answers ironically. - Isn't that what people are supposed to do at a party?
- I don't know, you do whatever you want to do. - You retort, and Wanda raises her eyebrows.
- Very funny. You're the only one who says that. - She says as she turns away. - See you later.
Wanda leaves walking through the party, and you see her grab another drink glass on the way.
You think you heard someone yell fight while you were walking through the party, and then the crowd moved, but you didn't go toward the people.
You are very angry, and impatient, wanting to be spending this evening with Wanda, but she doesn't seem interested.
And then you were walking back the way you came, and you ran into the same couple as before, only now they were kissing. You laughed lightly, the boy looked shy. You decided to stay out of their way, and went downstairs, only to run into Wanda again.
- Hey, why don't you let me have this one. - You spoke up as you noticed what must have been one of the many glasses of booze she had taken, and you raised your arm to pick it up, but Wanda was quicker, moving the glass away.
- No! This one is mine! - she grumbled, clearly drunk, trying to push you away. But you managed to take her glass, and she let out an annoyed sigh.
As you put the glass on a small table, she walked away again, and before you could follow, Pepper was at your side.
- Girl, how did you manage to do that? - she asked, looking excited. You frowned.
- What are you talking about?
- You made a freak act like a human being. - She commented with irony, but you weren't even paying attention anymore. Your gaze raced across the room after Wanda, and then someone turned on the radio in the next room and the crowd screamed attracting your attention.
You exclaimed in surprise when you noticed Wanda dancing on a table, without the jacket she was wearing earlier. Pepper ran in the same direction, joining in the shouts of celebration from the crowd around the table.
Walking towards the table you were a mixture of irritation, disbelief and embarrassment. Wanda was completely drunk, dancing sensually to the music, while people whistled and watched intently. She had her eyes closed, not even seeming to notice her surroundings.
And then she made a badly calculated move, and hit her head on the chandelier on the table. You were quick enough to catch her when she fell.
- Okay, that was enough. - You grumbled, helping her to her feet. - Are you okay?
- I'm fine! - she replied, but she could barely walk. You kept her from falling while grabbing the jacket she had thrown to the ground.
- Yeah, you're not fine. - You said. - Let's get out of here.
- I just need to lie down. - She mumbled, letting you hold her around the waist as you led her through the crowd.
- If you lie down, you'll sleep. - You say. - You can't sleep after hitting your head.
Wanda giggled.
- So many words. - She complained, and you thought it best to sit her down somewhere.
You reached the outside, as crowded as the house, but you managed to find a space in the garden for her to sit, and helped her to the bench. Wanda put her hand on her head where she had hit it.
- Hey, I need to talk to you. - Called Monica, walking up to you suddenly.
- I'm kinda busy. - You retorted, looking at Wanda.
- Five minutes, it's important.
You sighed, and took one last look at Wanda before walking away with Monica.
- Look, the deal is off, okay? - she said, and you blinked in confusion. - Pietro never wanted to be with me. He just wanted to have sex with Pepper.
You really didn't have the energy for that right now.
- Monica, where did all this come from now, huh? Weren't you two sneaking around together?
- I thought I was having a good time, but I saw them both at the party. - She explained, and you sighed impatiently.
- Hey, you like this boy don't you? - you asked, and she looked away, nodding. - And he's worth all this stuff you're doing?
- I thought so but...
- Yes or no?  - She swallowed hard, and you assumed a serious posture. - Listen, Pepper Potts is not half as good as you, and you never let anyone make you think that you don't deserve something. Okay?
Monica nodded, looking surprised. You turned your face toward Wanda quickly.
- Look, I have to go. - You said as you turned and helped Wanda to her feet.
On the way out you made sure to grab one of the bottles of water you found in the barrels.
You let her rest her arm on your shoulder to keep from falling, while your arm went around her waist. You dragged her across the street, and you ended up climbing a small hill in the mansion area that ended at a playground.
- Why are you doing this? - she grumbled.
- I said, you might have a concussion. - You retorted. Wanda broke free of you and started trying to walk ahead. You kept your attention to catch her in case she fell.
- You don't even care if I don't wake up.
You let out a chuckle, stopping her from falling next.
- That's not true.
- Why not?
- Because then I'd have to date girls who like me. - You respond with humor.
- If you could find one. - She retorts, and you have a smile on your lips when you answer.
- Oh, see. Who needs affection when I get hate?
- I just need to sit for a while. - She says, closing her eyes for a moment, and you help her sit down on one of the swings behind you. She falls off balance a second after you put her there, but you are quick to help her stay seated.
- Jesus. - You sigh as you stop her from falling, and then sit down on the swing beside her while Wanda laughs lightly. - So, why do you let yourself be affected?
- By whom? - she asks.
- Potts.
Wanda looks away, shaking her head.
- I hate her.
You let out a tired sigh.
- Well, you have chosen the perfect revenge. Intravenous tequila. - You joke, making her laugh.
- It's what they say.... - She begins to speak while you are looking away, and with the momentary silence you stare back, startled to find her asleep. You get up hastily, touching her face.
- Hey, Wanda! Wake up! Come on, open your eyes! - You called out, patting her face lightly.
Wanda blinked, opening her eyes, and you let out a sigh of relief. And then you took your hands away from her face and stood up, while she continued to look at you.
- I like your eyes. - She says with a shy smile. And you smile too, but then she throws up on your shoes the next second and the moment is broken. You laugh incredulously, but pat her on the back.
- Time to go home, punk. - You comment softly.
It takes a moment for Wanda to calm down, and you hand her the bottle of water you got. Then you walk to her car, and she hands you the keys.
Just as you are about to arrive at her house many minutes after, she speaks again:
- I should do that. - She comments still sounding drunk.
- Do what?
- That. - She says, pointing to the radio. A rock song was playing.
- Start a band?
- No, install radios in cars. - She retorted with irony, and you laughed lightly. - Starting a band of course. My dad would love it.
You then stop the car in front of her house.
- You don't seem to be the type to ask your father's permission to do things. - You comment as you take out the keys.
Wanda blinks in surprise.
- So now you know me?
- I'm trying.
- People only know that I scare them.
- Yeah, I know the feeling. - You comment with a wry smile. Wanda looks at you with an intensity that makes your stomach turn. - So, your father looks tough.
- No, he just wants me to be someone I'm not. - She says, shaking her head slightly.
- Who?
- Pietro. - She answers with a frown. You let out an understanding sigh.
- No offense, I know everyone likes your brother and all, but he's a pretty shallow guy. - You say and Wanda looks at you in surprise, but then she has a little smile on her face.
- You know... you're not as obnoxious as I thought. - She says, making you laugh slightly. And then she looks at you like that again, and brings your faces together, closing her eyes. You swallow dryly, ignoring your nervousness, and look at the steering wheel.
- I think we should do this another time. - You say, and Wanda looks at you in disbelief, as you twiddle your fingers nervously. She frowns and looks ahead, then opens the car door and gets out.
You sit there for several minutes, hoping that Wanda won't be even more irritated with you than she usually is.

You Saved My Life
Marvel - Captain America Imagine

-You Saved My Life-
Imagine you save Captain America's life while he is trying to save yours.
A/N: I dunno when this would take place in the Marvel world. I guess you could say it's my own AU. It's a long one but I like it. I hope you do too.
----
There are a lot of things life prepares you for, but the end of the world is not one of them.
You were covering your best friend's shift at a cafe that she owned. You had a full time job as a teacher, but the school was on a holiday, and you were always willing to help your friend. Normally, she'd have managers do the day to day runnings, but there was a scheduling conflict that lined up perfectly with your free day.
You did love the little place. It was small and home-y, nestled between some larger buildings of the city.
It was after the lunch rush when it happened. You were wiping down menus when a large blast that felt like an earthquake rattled the whole shop. The glass door shattered with the impact.
That's when the screaming started. It was loud and chaotic, as throngs of people ran away from whatever had just exploded.
The customers that were in the cafe rushed out in a panic. They could see something out of the large windows that you couldn't from behind the counter.
You moved closer, hesitantly, not sure what to expect, and you were definitely not prepared.
There were large, robotic creatures wreaking havoc in every direction. You could hear their banshee like screeches that echoed in your ears, but it couldn't be louder than the intense blood rushing as your adrenaline began to flow.
Your protective, teacher instincts kicked in when you saw the young group of kids huddled in the alleyway. They were almost out of view, but you noticed. You always noticed the children. They attracted your energy naturally.
You took notice of the daycare bus still running. It looked like the driver had just abandoned them. Intense anger only fueled the instincts.
You saw the way one of the creatures eyed the group and you scrambled to grab something to defend them.
You didn't have much. You decided on a chair, thankful for your nimble frame that was able to get outside unnoticed.
The kids caught sight of you immediately, but you held a shaky finger to your lips, telling them to be quiet.
You swung the chair with all your might, hitting the thing with a sickening crunch. It faltered for a moment, stumbling forward. You were left with pieces of broken wood, the splintered edges digging into your skin.
"Get inside," you yelled to the group, watching them scramble. At least the robot thing was focused on you, and you prayed that each little boy and each little girl made it home tonight.
You knew you were the only person standing between the cafe and the monster, and you wouldn't go with them to safety for risk of this thing following you into the shop.
Your heart thudded painfully in your chest as your eyes searched for any kind of defense. Instead, you found more creatures and no help.
This thing was ugly up close. It was metallic like a robot, but had blood red eyes, eyes that were staring right at you.
It opened it's mouth to screech into the sky, a snake like tongue curling out. It was cut off by a flash of color in the haze of dirt and debris, but you recognized it immediately. Captain America's shield.
The man himself appeared, standing tall and proud, but you could tell he was winded. You had never been so relieved, as you relaxed a bit, just wanting to melt into the ground with exhaustion.
Steve yanked out his shield, giving it an expert throw, destroying the other visible creatures.
His blue eyes stood out beneath his cowl.
"Ma'am," he nodded. "Are you hurt?" he asked.
"No," you whispered with a shake of your head, wiping your sweaty, bloody hands on your jeans. "But there's kids in there "
He nodded, repeating the information into his com device.
"We'll get them to safety, and you, too. This is no place you want to be. Every civilian has taken shelter in the metro underground. Do you know how to get there from here?"
"Yes, but it's like two blocks," you said. There was no way you could get the kids there without being noticed.
"I'll go with you then, but we need to move quickly. Let's go." He left no room for argument, so you entered the cafe to gather the huddled group.
Their fear struck you, wide eyes and silent sobs. There were probably twenty of them, all different ages. The youngest was probably about six.
"Captain America is going to get you guys somewhere safe," you told them, as reassuring as possible, even though you didn't feel that way.
You led the group as the captain guarded the back. The pace was quick, and eerily quiet. You imagined the tall man had warned the other Avengers to keep the area as clear as possible. You had caught a brief glimmer of Iron Man's metallic suit in the sky.
You had just ushered the kids down the stalled escalator and into safety when you heard a grunt of pain.
You turned to find six more of the robotic creatures surrounding Cap. You could tell he was wearing down as one of them pulled his arms back, rendering him powerless and unable to grab his shield. He kicked the things with all his might, but there were too many of them.
You didn't know what to do. You were exhausted and there was no way you could help. You couldn't even take out one by yourself with a chair.
It wasn't until one of the creatures pulled out a long dagger looking thing, already dripping with someone else's blood that you moved.
Your instincts didn't let you hesitate as you ran to tackle the thing, the knife in turn digging painfully in your upper shoulder, dangerously close to your neck.
You felt the cry leave your dry, cracked lips as you crumbled to the ground, squeezing your eyes shut.
You heard the creature snarl at you before you felt a jolt of hot pain in your ribs. It felt like a boot, but who knows.
Your vision doubled as you saw the metallic shield take out the group once more. You sagged in the rubble as the adrenaline left your body. It felt like buckets of blood were running from your shoulder down the curve of your breast, mixing with the pain in your ribs. You were certain death couldn't be much worse then this.
Steve couldn't believe you saved his life. He was foolish to let his guard down, but you were a distraction. You protected those kids with a fearlessness that reminded him of himself.
He heard over coms that Tony had found the source for these creatures and the fight was coming to a close. He wished he could have been there for his team, but the people came first, especially those kids.
He pressed a hand to your shoulder, cursing when he saw how much blood you were losing. He searched aimlessly for something to stop the blood.
"Your six, Captain," you manage to mutter throught the pain, not failing to notice the final of the robotic things sneaking up on the distracted man.
He kicked a stray car door effortlessly, squashing the creature against the brick building.
"We're going to get you help. You're going to be okay."
That was the last thing you heard before you passed out.
----
There was a pesky beeping that was disturbing your rest. You assumed it was your alarm, until the pain hit you full force, and you remembered the events that took place. Were you dead?
Your eyes opened, and you groaned at the harsh light, blinking rapidly to adjust. Your mouth felt like it was full of sand.
The sterile smell and blinding white walls immediately told you it was a hospital, but what stood out was the dozing man still dirty from battle. His blue suit stood out against the white.
His eyes opened when you stirred, and you noticed the blue eyes that you were beginning to like. His blonde hair was matted from the cowl, and he looked terribly uncomfortable in the small chair.
"How are you feeling?" he asked gently, his deep voice much softer than the commanding tone he used as captain.
You struggled to sit up. The pain in your shoulder not allowed you to use your hand as leverage, and your ribs didn't like the jostle.
"Don't do that," he said, lightly using his hand to keep you from moving. He pushed the button on the side that allowed the bed to lift without you having to change position.
He helped you drink some water before you were finally able to respond.
"How long have I been out?" you ask.
"Just a few hours," Steve responded. "You saved my life, and those kids, too." He shook his head in disbelief.
You felt your face grow hot at his words, not knowing how to respond. "I'm sure you are exhausted. You didn't have to stay."
"I had to make sure you were okay," he admitted. "I'm Steve."
"Y/N." You tried to smile at his cute pleasantries, but winced at the persistent throbbing in your shoulder. "Is it bad?"
"I'm sure a tough girl like you can handle it. The doctor should be in here in a minute to tell you details," he answered.
The doctor told you that your ribs were broken and your stab wound was deep but no longer life threatening after they stopped the blood. It was going to take a while to recover.
You dozed off, and it must have been a long time because when you awoke the second time, the room was covered in flowers. A stack of cards sat on your table, and you rose the bed again to reach for them.
A swell of happy emotions built up inside of you as you read the sweet words of the kids you saved. It was so relieving to know they were okay.
"You're a hero," Steve said from the door, this time in jeans and a blue jacket. He was handsome.
You wiped the fallen tears off of your cheek. "I'm nothing but a teacher."
"You're a hero to me," he smiled slightly, and a warm feeling bloomed in your chest.

Hi I don't have tumblr, so not sure how this works. Came across your blog though, and spent three days just reading everything you've written and reblogged. Such a fun three days! I have so many ideas for prompts, but the one I'm most curious about is what happens when Ian has a rough patch of mania maybe a couple years into their marriage and what kind of plans do Mickey and Ian have for either an upswing or a downswing of his bipolar? Thanks so much excited to see what you come up with!
Hi there! It's such a compliment that you went through my rambles, glad you're enjoying.💖 Standard disclaimer: everything I know about bipolar disorder comes from the internet. It's an important part of Ian that I want to be respectful of, so as always please let me know if I miss the mark.
Caring for your partner, Rule 1: Be There
When Mickey woke up, Ian wasn’t in bed.
That wasn’t terribly unusual in and of itself. What was unusual was that it was only 3AM, on a Saturday, and Mickey could already hear his husband moving outside their room. The footsteps outside the door were soft, restrained, like Ian didn’t want to wake him. But the following clatter in the kitchen was alarmingly loud as Ian opened the drawer under the oven to pull out a pan, and Mickey groaned.
He wanted to roll over, pull a pillow over his head, and block out whatever this was so he could go back to sleep. They’d been working long days, and sometimes longer nights as the dispensaries were all pulling overtime with increasing demand. They’d only made it to bed like two hours ago, for fuck’s sake, and Mickey was tired.
But Ian should have been tired too, and it was never a good sign when he wasn’t. So Mickey sat up with a sigh, rubbing his eyes with the heel of his hand, and swung his legs out of bed.
He winced when his bare feet touched the cold wooden floor. They had been here for almost a year already, and they still hadn’t gotten ‘round to buying a fucking rug for the bedroom.
Mickey shivered as he hopped awkwardly toward the closed bedroom door, grabbing his robe from a hook there and tugging it on over his thin shirt and the boxers he was pretty sure started out on Ian’s side of the dresser. Wrapping it closed, he slipped out the door and into the brightly lit hallway, squinting blearily as he followed the sound of pots and pans to the kitchen.
Ian had half their crockery out on the counter already. His red hair gleamed under the sharp light of the long fluorescent bulbs overhead as he stirred batter in a large bowl they had borrowed from Debbie last week and never given back, wooden spoon clanking against the sides erratically.
Erratically. That was a good word for it, Mickey thought. The mindless clink clink clink of wood on metal in no discernible pattern, just like the route Ian took around their table, to the counter, to the fridge, and back to the oven again. Mindless, pacing, random.
Mickey leaned against the wall, and watched.
They had talked about this, since the last time. At least, since the last time Mickey had been worried. When Ian was down, when he didn’t want to get up. When Mickey dragged him out on his first run and they talked afterward in the kitchen, when Mickey made clear that his worry was just one more face of what they had together.
He’d come down the next morning to Ian at the kitchen table, the whole place eerily quiet for a place they still shared with too many fucking people. There had been coffee in the pot, toast on the table, and Ian, picking at his cuticles and not meeting Mickey’s eyes.
“We need to talk,” he’d said, and Mickey’s heart had dropped into his stomach.
“Can I wake the fuck up first?” he’d asked, but Ian had just kicked a chair out for him and waited, not meeting his eyes, until Mickey sat down.
They’d sat silently for a long moment, Mickey unwilling to ask what it was about. Finally, Ian had sighed, and reached out for Mickey’s hand across the table.
“It’s about the bipolar,” he’d said, and Mickey had been so relieved he could feel it in his fucking toes, bare and cold against the tile floor.
“Oh. Okay.”
Ian had been startled by his easy acceptance of the topic, he could tell.
“That’s it?” He’d sounded almost confused.
Mickey had shrugged.
“I mean, yeah?” He’d rubbed the rest of the sleep from his eyes with the hand no holding Ian’s. “You had me worried, man, with the we need to talk thing. But this is just normal shit.”
Ian had just stared at him, then released his hand to lean back against his chair.
“Normal?” He’d asked disbelievingly. “There’s nothing normal about planning for my imminent mental break, Mickey.
Mickey had snorted at the irony of it. “You kidding me?” he’d said. “It’s the most normal fucking thing about us.”
As he watched Ian in the kitchen now, making pancakes at 3AM on a Saturday morning, Mickey thought that was probably still true.
“Hey, Martha Stewart,” he said softly from his position against the wall, still leaning there as Ian spun around with surprise painted over his face. His eyes were off, the light not quite there, but they still warmed when he saw Mickey.
“Hey,” Ian said back, voice high and too chipper. “I’m making pancakes, you want some? I’ve got banana, your favorite, and chocolate chips, and strawberries…”
He went on to list more ingredients, but Mickey wasn’t really listening. He could see it all anyway, spread out over the kitchen like so many half-made decisions, half-baked ideas that kept giving way to something else.
“Mickey?” Ian asked, and he snapped out of it.
“Yeah,” he answered with a smile. “Yeah, I’d love some pancakes. Why don’t you let me stir for a awhile?”
They had their pancakes standing up next to the counter, nowhere left to rest their plates on the crowded surfaces of the kitchen. Ian talked about the merits of each ingredient as they ate, and Mickey listened, and nodded along as best he could.
This was okay. It was pancakes in their boxers at 3AM with no sleep in a kitchen that looked like it was hit by a tornado, but Ian was eating, and Ian was smiling, and Ian was there.
And when Ian stopped and tried to set his plate down, distress on his face as he was confronted with the mess he had made, Mickey took the dish from him with easy hands.
“You want to sit down awhile?” he tried, nudging Ian gently out of the disaster-zone. “Bet you’re tired after eating all that.”
He knew Ian wasn’t, but he kept a hand on his back anyway until they were out in the living room, next to the sofa. Mickey let go to sit down himself with a groan, tired muscles aching at being used for too long without rest. He kept his eyes off Ian, just standing there, looking at him in that too-present, too-absent way of his, and leaned back against the cushions, eyes falling closed.
After a moment, the sofa dipped as Ian settled in beside him.
“Mickey?” Ian asked. The cushions bounced as he tapped his heel repeatedly on the floor.
“Yeah?” Mickey responded, squinting his eyes back open.
“Can I touch you?”
Mickey repressed the urge to sit up, to take Ian into his arms. Ian sounded too hesitant, a shift from moments before as he playfully shoved bites of overcooked batter into Mickey’s mouth.
But Ian didn’t like to be held like this.
“Of course you can, you moron,” Mickey said instead, and watched as Ian’s leg stopped moving. The other man drew closer, reaching a hand out to card through Mickey’s hair and drag down the side of his face, a touch too shaky and a touch too firm.
Ian had once said that touching Mickey grounded him, and Mickey hadn’t known if Ian thought that was a good thing or not. In the midst of hypomania, Ian didn’t always take kindly to being grounded.
But tonight—well, this morning—it seemed to be a good thing. Mickey was grateful for that.
Grateful, because it meant that Ian looked like himself as he moved to lay against him, and not like some over-saturated facsimile painted with too much water on the canvas, always shifting, always running. Grateful, because it meant that Ian pulled Mickey’s arms around him and settled into his side like they always did, even if his body never quite stilled at the contact.
Grateful, because it meant they wouldn’t fight tonight. That Mickey wouldn’t have to worry as much about what Ian might say, might do, if he stepped out of line. If he went off the script they had planned on a good day for dealing with bad ones to come.
He wouldn’t have to call Lip for backup. He wouldn’t have to tail Ian as he left the apartment to make sure he stayed safe. He wouldn’t have hide the knives, or their wallets, or anything else.
Not that he would have complained if he did. It was what it was. Ian was who he was. And Mickey would always see him through it. Love him through it.
They lay there, mostly quiet, except for the mindless tune Ian hummed against his neck, and the tap tap tap of his fingers on Mickey’s collarbone.
Eventually, the song cut off.
“Do I need to call the doctor?” Ian asked quietly into the echoing room, and Mickey nodded, rubbing a gentle hand through his hair.
“Yeah,” he admitted. “I think so.”
He'd get everything together in the morning. Ian's journals, their schedule, their meal plan. The little notebook where he kept track of Ian's prescriptions, how they worked, how long they lasted.
Something had obviously slipped, either in their methods or in Ian himself. But Mickey was well past dwelling on what they could have done differently, and focused on what to do next.
Things happened. Things changed. They would adapt.
At Mickey's confirmation, Ian just nodded against him, fidgeting until their legs were too entwined to separate.
“Sleep first, if you can,” Mickey told him, settling in for a long rest of the night. “We’ll do it together when you wake up.”
Together. They’d do it together. Again and again and again, as much as they needed to. Because Ian was his husband, and this was their normal.
And their normal was still pretty damn good.

Hello, could you recommend me some fics with BAMF Charles? Thank you!
Hi anon, thanks for the ask. I am so terribly sorry how long this has taken me. There are some excellent BAMF Charles fics out there and this is just a few that I recommend, there are other great fics out there. I hope you enjoy this list!
BAMF! Charles
BAMF! Charles
The Line in the Sand - ikeracity
Summary: The CIA agents on the base are bullying the children, mocking them for their mutations. Charles will not tolerate it.
Or: Charles has a line, and the agents cross it. Several times. And Erik discovers that perhaps Charles is not so much of a pacifistic pushover as he appears.
Us – Pangea
Summary: “Charles,” Erik says, and if his voice hits a pleading note then who can really blame him, “Charles, it’s me.”
It takes several longer moments before Charles musters up the strength to answer, breath stuttering horribly as he tries to breathe. He’s shaking, entire body trembling.
“Erik,” Charles says, his voice cracking, “Erik, I want to die.”
When An Unstoppable Force Meets an Immovable Optimist – ToriTC198
Summary: "You are always trying to save me, Charles." Erik mused aloud. "Ever since you dove into the ocean and dragged me out. Did it ever occur to you that I might not be worth saving?"
A genuine smile broke out on Charles' face as he brightly answered, "No, my friend, not once. I have every confidence you are well worth saving. But, I never truly believed I could save you. You are not the sort of man who someone saves. The choice to be a better man has always been yours to make and I hold no illusions that I can make that decision for you. I simply have faith that one day you will save yourself. I only hope I am still at your side to witness it."
- What if Erik and Charles had been able to find a middle ground in the end?
Rumor Has It - blueink3
Summary: "Did I hear the doorbell earlier?"
"Yeah, but I'd steer clear if I were you. It seemed a little tense. I don't know what's going on, but there's a kid out there who looks freakily like the prof."
Nearly six months after Cuba, Charles' life is turned upside down for the second time. Though he's slowly learning to adapt to the first, he's not sure he can handle the second. Luckily for him, there are a few people out there more than willing to help.
Into the Fray - miss_aphelion
Summary: Every year, two alphas are chosen from each district for a fight to death, and every year, a single omega is chosen to join them in the arena as the prize.
Erik Lehnsherr's name has been drawn to compete as an alpha tribute and he is set solely on survival, but he hadn't exactly counted on Charles, the mysterious omega tribute that isn't playing by any of the rules. Hunger Games AU.
The Waste Land – nekosmuse
Summary: The White Queen and her Shadow King sit on their throne, safe behind the psionic shields of the Walled City. The armies of Genosha batter uselessly at the gates, a war locked in stalemate. Magneto, camped in the frozen mud, receives word the Citadel intends to send a telepath to the front lines. The same telepath he met two years ago, who sat across a carved wooden chess set and offered Magneto the first friendly smile in a lifetime. The same telepath who still haunts his dreams.
Tessellation – nekosmuse
Summary: He had been following Xavier's career for years. He had read and reread and reread again everything the man had written. He had tried, on more occasions than he could count, to recruit Xavier into the Brotherhood, but each request for a meeting had been denied. Aside from his work, no one knew anything about Xavier. Not what he looked like, not the full extent of his power--though from what little they did know, he was by far the most powerful telepath in existence--and not what his intentions were.
The man was a recluse. As far as Magneto knew, Xavier had never once stepped foot outside his impenetrable Westchester manor. And now he was scheduled as the keynote speaker for the largest pro-mutant conference in the world.
Family is What You Make It - GoringWriting
Summary: When Tony is left in that Siberian bunker it's not Pepper or Rhodey, or even Vision that find him. It's a Hydra team. Tony resigns himself to being their science experiment when he's rescued by an unlikely team and he finds out that family is what you make it and along the way he manages to gain some allies, friends, and maybe something more.
Lifelong Service – Pookaseraph
Summary: Erik thinks he should be the one to teach their recruits hand-to-hand combat; Charles makes a persuasive argument to the contrary.
The Virtue to Which We Aspire – outoftouch (varlovian)
Summary: Nine months after Cuba, Charles is found by Erik's Brotherhood in the smoldering ruins of an abandoned CIA base, exhausted but alive. As the only known survivor of the CIA's vendetta against mutants, recovering Charles' memory of the incident—which he admits to having forgotten—just became paramount.
But the harder they push, the closer Charles gets to breaking point. When he finally cracks, the X-Men and the Brotherhood will learn the truth, but it comes with a price...
Some doors, once opened, cannot be closed.
Some minds, once broken, will never be the same again.
The Bright and Darkened Lands – madcap_allie
Summary: Erik Lehnsherr tracks down Nazis to find Dr. Schmidt, whose assassination is his life's goal. Charles Xavier hunts Nazis because he can.
Mind’s Eye Blind – Sperare
Summary: As far as Erik is concerned, if you want to scare a person into talking, you have to present him with something more compelling than what he stands to lose...
And there is nothing in the world more compelling than Charles.
Boden’s Mate – kaydeefalls
Summary: "Shaw has information that we need, and we need him alive to extract it," Moira says, and there it is: the job is on the table. Extraction.
XMFC/Inception fusion AU. Erik is an extractor, Alex is his point man. They're assembling a team to go after the most dangerous mind in dreamsharing: Sebastian Shaw. But unless Alex and the team can keep him in check, Erik's desire for vengeance might just rip the whole job apart around them -- and then there's the shade that haunts his dreams...
Queen’s Gambit – kaydeefalls
Summary: "My name is Nick Fury," he tells Raven. "And I'm here to talk to you about Cain Marko."
XMFC/Inception fusion, sequel to Boden's Mate. Raven's running her own extractions these days, but the job S.H.I.E.L.D.'s dumped in her lap is a real shitshow. Two marks, two simultaneous dreams, eleven dreamers, and a hell of a lot of baggage. Time to call in a few favors -- and did she mention the job involves inception?
Say Your Fault – seperis
Summary: Charles hasn't spoken in twenty-two days.

Haikyuu Boys and a Single Mom
featuring: kuroo tetsuro, sakusa kiyoomi
KUROO
Kuroo hadn’t had a proper day off in a while, his job at JAV was pretty hectic and demanding that he still works even on day offs today however, he decided to reward himself and decided to pick up Kenma from university and maybe get some dinner together to catch up.
he entered the college campus feeling nostalgic of his days as a college student athlete, he figured Kenma’s class wasn’t over yet so he sat by the small park inside the campus where there was a lot of people, Kuroo was enjoying the sight of a bunch of college students reading, talking, relaxing and just basically enjoying their youth when he felt a light tug on his hoody, he looked down and saw a little boy about the age of four looking up at him like he was his saving grace
the kid was adorable that Kuroo couldn’t help but gush at him “hey buddy, what’s up?” he asks the kid, his tone higher that usual
“mishter, you be Akio’s dada?”
he was taken aback at how clear the boy spoke despite his age
“oh? and who is Akio?” he asks as he crutch down to the kid’s level
“me, Akio” the kid says and points his pointy finger at himself
Kuroo was sure that he was going to have a heart attack right there at how cute this little boy was
“where’s your dada then?” Kuroo asks as he wipes the little dirt on Akio’s face
“Akio don’t have dada, only mama” Akio pouts which alarmed Kuroo
“how ‘bout I get you to your mama first so you can tell her you want a dada alright?” Kuroo said, careful not to tell him that he can’t be his dad he lowkey wanted to be though
Akio nods silently and spreads his arms out “upchies?” he looks up at him, a small pout in his glossy eyes
it was a crime to say no to that face
Kuroo immediately picked up the boy and squished his left cheek
“Akio oh my god” the voice was clearly filled with worry as the two boys whipped their heads to the direction where the voice came from
and there you were, in your wide leg dress pants and turtle neck, race walking to their direction
Kuroo was frozen in his place, first of all, were you Akio’s mama? and second of all, holy shit you’re gorgeous
“you got your looks from your mama huh?” he says to the little boy
you stopped right in front of them and quickly bowed your head “oh my gosh I’m so sorry for the bother”
“oh not at all, he was really sweet” he says and scratches the back of his neck
you apologized again and attempted to take Akio from him, but he just shrugged your hands off
“no Akio wants dada” he says as he turns his back on you and rests his chin on Kuroo’s shoulder, encircling his arms on Kuroo’s neck
both of your eyes widen and you apologized profusely
“it’s really not big of the deal” he tries to reassure you
you both end up sitting in the park for a while as you talked about how his dad isn’t in the picture and that Kuroo was waiting for his best friend’s class to finish, when Kenma, your seatmate from a class, arrived, Akio still didn’t want to let go so you ended up having dinner with them and they had to drop you off to your house after
“thank you guys so much” you said as you waved them goodbye carrying Akio
Kuroo and Kenma drove off
“hey, do you think I’m ready to be a dad?” Kuroo asks his best friend
“not in the slightest”
“yeah, you’re right”
a few minutes of silence engulfed the two of them
“give me her number”
“apple pie”
“deal”
safe to say that you had Kuroo Tetsuro in front of your door with flowers in his hands the next sunday
SAKUSA KIYOOMI
MSBY was having free volleyball tutorials for kids and Sakusa absolutely hated it.
he wasn’t fond of kids, even though he had to deal with three literally everyday -*coughs* atsumu *coughs* bokuto *coughs* hinata- they were loud and noisy and had complete disregard of hygiene, well most of them
he was thankful to his teammate as he was assigned to a duty where it doesn’t involved interacting with the kids too much
Bokuto was teaching a group of kids how to spike while Hinata and Atsumu was teaching the kids how to serve and recieve
Sakusa however was a distance away from them, looking out for kids trying to sneak out
he felt his hand slightly tingle so he reached for a hand sanitizer in the pocket of his jacket and squeezed some out at the palm of his hand
he was either being serious about his hand sanitizer or he was dozing off because manz literally jumped a few inches back when he felt someone tap his leg
he looked down and saw a little boy looking up at him
they had a staring contest for a good thirty seconds when the little boy reached pointed his finger at him
“Saksa Yoomi” he says in a serious voice
the spiker swears he felt his heart skip a beat when he heard the little boy say his name
he clears his throat and says “what do you want?” in a soft voice
the kid pointed at the hand sanitizer he was holding
“you want this?” he asks to make sure
The kid nods
Sakusa squeezes a small amount into his little hands, never in his life did he think that he would be smitten by a child, but here he is gushing over at a kid carefully rubbing his hands together
He might not show it, but his heart was aching at how adorable the kid looked
“what’s your name?” he asks
“Haru” the kid answers, fascinated at how his hands felt after applying sanitizer
“Haru!” Bokuto called the little boy
“Kou-kou!” the boy smiled happily, Bokuto ran towards them
“ahh I see you’ve found your idol” Bokuto chuckles while Sakusa looks at him strangely
“you’re his favorite Omi, right Haru?”
Haru nods shyly, a tint of grey coating his plump cheeks
“why don’t you show Omi your little skill hm?” Bokuto said as Haru nods and crutched down laying his hand flat on the ground and bending his wrist so far back, it looked like it was going to break, it was Sakusa’s signature warm up stretch
Manz was no doubt a hundred percent smitten right now, he was blushing in the back of his mask
“see? He even got your bendy hands” Bokuto let out a hearty laugh
“come on now Haru, your mom is going to be here any minute now” Bokuto said as he took Haru’s hand
“you know his mom?” Sakusa couldn’t help but ask
“yep, she’s my cousin” Bokuto said at the same time Atsumu appeared
“woah, didn’t know you had a married cousin Bokkun” he said while he crutched down and pinced Haru’s cheek
“Y/N? Y/N’s not married, she doesn’t even have a boyfriend” Bokuto says confused
Right off the bat, they knew what he was talking about
“Haru want Yoomi to be dada” the little boy timidly said which caught the attention of the three
“Haru no-“  Bokuto tried stopping Haru
“sure, I’ll be your dada” Sakusa says and picks up the little kid
Now we have a wide-eyed volleyball team, I mean, Sakusa willingly picked up a child? It was a sight to behold
They teased Sakusa for a bit but the spiker didn’t pay any attention and just focused on talking to Haru, the things he liked and the things he wants to do, making sure to take note of every single detail
Their conversation was cut off when Haru suddenly squeled “mama!” and pointed  at you, in your office attire and walking towards them
“I see you found your idol huh?” you asked your son and looked at the person holding him
“oh hey Sakusa!” you cheerfully greeted him
Sakusa swallowed thickly and said a simple “hey”
“wait, you guys know each other?” Bokuto asked, shocked
“yep, we met at your house-warming party Kou” you answered his question
You took Haru from him, who was already kinda dozing off
“well, I need to go now” you said and bid them goodbye
“wait” the spiker stopped you
“can you give me your number? I kinda scheduled some play dates with Haru, I didn't know he was your son i swear-” he asks, the tips of his ears red, mentally cursing himself out, he was telling the truth though
No wonder he was smitten by the child
You smiled at him greatfully and immediately took out you calling card case “here. It has my office and personal number in there, I’m looking forward to it and thank you Sakusa” you said genuinely, making him blush even more
You walked away, Haru in your arms sleeping soundly
“it looks like you got smitten by not only the momma but the baby as well” Atsumu teases
“I am not” manz blatantly lied
“you hugged me the morning after you guys hooked up in Bokkun’s new house's guest room Omi”
“shut up, and tell me where do I buy a sugar glider? Haru wants one”

Tempered Glass: Chapter 7
Pairing: Din Djarin x Female Reader Rating: M (will become explicit) Word Count: 5.5k Warnings: slow burn, canon-typical violence, cursing, pining, Din in suspenders, fluff Summary: Din takes a job with his old crew, and you and the kid wait for him on Arvala-7. Notes: Sorry this took me forever!
Previous Chapter | Masterlist | Next Chapter
Tumblr media
Image from The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian
After you left the atmosphere of Tatooine and jumped into hyperspace, Din swiveled his chair around to face you in the copilot’s seat.
“I should take a job. Everything we made went to Peli, and I don’t like being low on credits. There’s a crew I used to run with...I can reach out to them...” he hesitated then added, “but you and the kid can’t come with me.”
“What do you mean I can’t come with you?”
He sighed, shoulders dropping. “I mean, I don’t trust them enough for you and the kid to come.”
“If you don’t trust them, wouldn’t it be better to have backup?”
“I just—,” he looked away, “I don’t want them to know either of you exist.”
“If you don’t trust them, should you be taking a job with them?”
“We don’t have a lot of options.”
“I could get work somewhere. We could go somewhere safe enough for a few weeks. There are some places where I have contacts, and non-bounty hunting work is usually less conspicuous.”
“I don’t think we should stay anywhere that long right now.”
“But—”
“I’ll feel better if you and the kid are safe together.”
“I—”
When he bowed his head in a silent appeal, your determination crumbled.
“Ugh, fine.”
He sighed in relief, reaching out to rest his hand on your knee briefly. His touch was reassuring.
“But, just so you know, this is only going to work once, so don’t think that my staying back with the kid is going to be a regular thing.”
He removed his hand and turned back around to face the viewport.
“I am taking your silence as tacit agreement,” you said to the back of his helmet.
He chose to ignore that, fiddling with the controls instead.
***
Now that you’d both admitted you wanted to stay together, abandoning the pretense of strategy and convenience all together, things were a little off between you and Din. Neither of you were used to being vulnerable, so conversations were slightly stunted again. You found yourself being overly polite, and Din was doing the same.
That first night back on the Crest, he offered you his bunk.
“I’m not taking your bed. You need it to take off your helmet.”
Besides the unshakable lingering chill of the hull, sleeping there wasn’t that bad. You usually slept with every sweater you owned on and that kept you warm enough.
“Use it when I’m not. You shouldn't have to sleep on the floor.”
“Sure, thanks,” you agreed, knowing you’d never take him up on that. You didn’t want to be on a different sleep schedule than he and the kid.
You did try to nap with the kid in Din’s bunk the next day because there wasn’t all that much to do in hyperspace. As soon as you lay down, though, you knew it was a mistake. First of all, it was crazy uncomfortable (somehow not better than the literal floor and the close walls made it slightly claustrophobic), and second—and far more importantly—it smelled overwhelmingly like Din. It smelled like his pine-y soap and beskar and blaster residue and leather and whatever else made up his infuriatingly good scent. It conjured images of crackling fires and golden skin and warm embraces and taut muscles.
Shit.
There was no chance you were going to be able to fall sleep when all you could think about was him.
The kid, on the other hand, was snoozing contentedly beside you. When you’d fully given up on napping, you edged your way out the bunk carefully, doing your best not to wake him.
Din was sitting in the hull on a long crate against the wall, cleaning his blaster, the pieces spread out next to him. Usually, when you were in the hull at the same time, you’d find a place across from him. Instead, you purposefully sat next to him, drawing your knees up to your chest and leaning against the wall.
You decided you were going to push through this awkward phase and make things not weird right there, right then. And you were going to do that the best way you knew how.
He tilted his helmet toward you momentarily then refocused on the blaster in his hand.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Yes,” he said, running a rag along the barrel.
“How does one develop a catchphrase? Does it happen organically or is there an iterative brainstorming process?”
Din paused, sighing dramatically, set his blaster and the rag down next to him, and pushed himself back until he was also leaning against the metal wall. His helmet clunked slightly as he relaxed it back. “This is the way is not a catchphrase. It’s a tenet of the Creed.”
“And ‘I can bring you in warm or I can bring you in cold’ is also a tenet of the Creed?”
He lolled his helmet to the side, looking down at you. “Okay, fine, that one isn’t,” he conceded.
“So you admit it—you have at least one catchphrase that you regularly use on bounties.” You smirked up at him.
Without missing a beat, Din fixed you with that unreadable visor and quipped: “I’ve been told I have a sexy voice. I’m just giving the people what they want.”
Your jaw dropped, a shocked laugh echoing through the hull. You had planned on teasing him and had not expected him to turn it around on you so smoothly.
“Uh... I was sort of hoping we’d stick to our unspoken agreement to not bring up the stupid things I said when I was drunk.” You looked down at your hands, suddenly unable to meet his gaze.
“Oh, definitely not.”
You looked back up. “Alright, well then in the name of fairness, we’re going to have to get you really drunk the next time the opportunity presents itself, so we can see what embarrassing things you say.”
He paused for a moment, considering, then said, “Does that mean you’ll carry me home?”
You cracked a smile, nodding vigorously. “Of course. That would only be fair.”
A warm laugh rasped through the modulator. You crossed your ankles in front of you, letting your knee rest against the cold beskar on this thigh.
“I feel skeptical of that promise.” He dropped a gloved hand to your knee.
“Okay, okay I can’t promise to carry you home, but I can promise to tie your shoe if needed.”
“My boots don’t have laces.” He lifted a foot off the ground to show you.
You shrugged playfully: “Well, that’s not my fault.”
“This doesn’t sound like a very good deal for me. I tied your shoe and carried you home.”
“To be fair, both were against my will.”
“But necessary.”
You rolled your eyes at him. “Okay, okay, I can’t carry you, and I can’t tie your shoe... so I’ll...,” you bit your lip as you fished around for something else to offer, “...hold your hand? And not let anyone tickle you.”
He huffed and rubbed his thumb over your knee: “I’m not ticklish.”
You pursed your lips. “Right, sure, of course not. My mistake.”
He harrumphed. “Can I ask you something now?”
“I’ll allow it,” you intoned seriously.
“Where are you actually from?”
“Naboo. Most of my back story was true—I just left out the one major detail.”
“Your favorite color?” he deadpanned.
You laughed. “Yes, exactly. What about you? Where are you from?”
“Aq Vetina.”
You waited, hoping he’d elaborate.
“When my parents died there, I was rescued by the Mandalorians and raised in the Fighting Corps.”
“I’m sorry,” you said, placing your hand over his and squeezing gently. “That sounds like a tough life for a child.”
“It was all I knew,” he explained, shifting slightly.
“Still, that can’t have been easy. It makes sense that you couldn’t leave the kid.”
“Yeah,” he said quietly, solemnly. There was a tension in his shoulders that hadn’t been there moments ago.
“Less serious question,” you replied, changing the subject to something lighter.
“Okay.” He relaxed a little.
“Why don’t you ever use a straw to drink with your helmet on?”
“These are the things you think about?” he laughed. His laugh was usually a quiet, muffled sound through the modulator, but it was getting easier to pick up on it. “There’s a seal on the helmet, otherwise the filters wouldn’t work,” he tapped the release on the side of his head. “So a straw isn’t a possibility, unfortunately.”
“Mmm,” you responded, “that is disappointing.”
He gripped your thigh lightly, turning toward you. “I, uh, heard back about the job... while you were asleep. It’s a go.”
“Ah... great. I was kind of hoping you wouldn’t hear back.”
“I know. It will be fine.”
“Okay... So, any ideas for where the kid and I should stay?”
To your surprise, Din explained that he had a trusted friend on Arvala-7. When you agreed to the plan, he disappeared to the cockpit to set the nav—a two-day trip.
***
That same evening, you discovered a new favorite activity on the Crest. Before bed, the kid was being particularly fussy, so you pulled out your data pad and downloaded the first children’s book you could find. It worked liked a charm.
From then on, it became a daily routine: you’d read to him until his eyelids drooped before his nap and before bedtime. Regardless of his mood, listening to you read seemed to soothe him. You’d pull him into your lap and settle onto your stack of blankets against the wall. He’d watch your face, enraptured, as you relayed story after story to him. His favorite—the story that elicited the most chirps and grabby motions and ear wiggles—centered on a family of frogs. You revisited that one at least once a day, sometimes more if he was grouchy.
You weren’t sure how to feel about his hyperfixation on that particular story given his appetite for frogs.
At this rate, your digital library was going to be largely children’s books. You didn’t mind.
You noticed that Din would find something to do in the hull while you read. The first couple times, he sat and cleaned one of his many weapons or sewed a hole in his flight suit. Very quickly, he stopped bothering with an ostensible task and would just sit and listen.
When you were still 15 hours out from Arvala-7, Din was seated on his usual crate in the hull, the one next to the weapons cabinet, as you finished the final page of a particularly thrilling story about a snail. The kid was snoring softly in your arms, so you clicked off your datapad, and got up to settle him in his hammock for his mid-day nap.
“You’re good with him.” Din was leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees.
“I guess,” you shrugged, snapping the door to Din’s bunk shut and turning back to him. “I just think about what I liked as a kid. I loved when my parents would read to me.”
He nodded, helmet trained on the floor between his boots.
“I’m sorry—” you started, realizing how that must have sounded to Din.
He looked up and cut you off. “Don’t be. It’s nice for him to have some normal kid experiences.”
“You know what he’d really love?”
“What?”
“If you read to him.”
He dipped his helmet slightly in acknowledgement, rolling his shoulders back at the same time like he was uncomfortable agreeing with that.
Several hours later, you pulled Din down next to you in your normal pre-bedtime story time spot. He had the kid in his arms. You switched on your datapad and toggled through the catalog of books you’d downloaded, all of which had colorful covers and silly, whimsical titles, until you found the frog book.
“Here,” you offered, passing it over to him.
You leaned your head back against the wall and closed your eyes, listening to Din’s serious, even voice narrate the heartwarming hijinks of a family of frogs. The kid cooed and babbled along.
To your (and the kid’s) utter delight, Din’s rendition slowly evolved into a full-on dramatic reading, complete with sound effects and slightly different voices for each character, as he leaned into whatever prompted the most enthusiastic responses from the kid. You kept your eyes closed and said nothing, worried that if you drew attention to this new development, he’d get self-conscious and stop. You couldn’t help from smiling a little though.
When the story came to its conclusion, you opened your eyes. Din was scrolling through the library of options, browsing for the next book. “What do you think? Which one next?” You looked at him, but he wasn’t asking you. The kid let out a string of gibberish, pointing with a teeny finger. Din read out the titles of several options, selecting the one that triggered the most animated trill.
As Din began the story, he shifted until his body was flush with yours. The places where his beskar made contact with you were cold, even through the fabric of your clothes, but you didn’t mind.
By the time Din finished the second book, the kid was displaying the telltale signs—drooping ears and unfocused eyes—that bedtime had arrived.
Din handed you the datapad and stood to tuck the kid into bed.
As he shut the door to his bunk, you said, “I think you just put me out of a job.”
He scoffed, but you could tell he was pleased.
***
As you got more comfortable around each other, Din took to walking around without his armor—beside his helmet—on. Most of the time, he’d even leave his gloves off. He wore either a flight suit that zipped up the middle or a black shirt and pants...with suspenders. The first few times, it was jarring to see him like that, without his armor. He looked wrong. It was like seeing a turtle without its shell... but if turtles were sexy.
The first time he emerged from his bunk with the suspenders hanging loosely by his sides, you stopped dead, mouth hanging open. He tilted his helmet sharply at you: “What?”
“You sometimes wear suspenders under your armor?”
“...Yes?”
You couldn’t help the laugh that escaped you and the goofy grin that spread across your face.
“What?” he prompted again, shoulders pulling up toward his neck.
“I just really wasn’t expecting that,” you laughed.
“What were you expecting?” The playful note in his voice left you flustered. He took a step closer, much more relaxed now that he was the one doing the teasing. He was getting too good at flipping things on you.
Instead of answering—because you were not about to address the fact that you had absolutely thought about what he wore under his armor—you strode up to him and pulled the suspenders over his shoulders. He stood uncomfortably still, arms hanging awkwardly by his sides.
“What are you doing?” He looked down at his shirt then back up at you.
“I just want to get the full picture.” You looked him up and down.
“Thought about this a lot, have you?” He quirked his helmet down at you suggestively. It was only the second time you’d gotten that particular flavor of head tilt, and you...didn’t hate it. It made your neck feel hot. You disregarded the intense desire to grab him by the suspenders and jerk him toward you.
Instead, you narrowed your eyes at him, enjoying this new bold flirtation. Without looking away from his visor, you hooked a finger through one of the suspenders and pulled it out a couple inches, letting it snap back against him.
“Ow.” He stated it so matter-of-factly that it obviously hadn’t hurt, but for dramatic effect, he rubbed the spot on his chest where it hit him.
“You’ll survive,” you assured him, patting his shoulder and brushing past him to climb the ladder to the cockpit. When you sat down in the pilot’s seat and kicked your feet up to rest on the console, you still had a smile on your face.
***
A few hours later, you were seated in the copilot seat with the child held tightly in your lap as the Razor Crest descended through the atmosphere of Arvala-7. On the way, Din shared how he’d met this friend—he had helped Din when he was originally tracking down the child months ago.
However, when you asked what his friend’s name was, Din said he didn’t know. Honestly, you weren’t even that surprised. Just exasperated.
Din told you the details of when he tracked down the child, including the assassin droid he'd crossed paths with. He explained how he’d teamed up with IG-11, but in the end, he had to destroy the droid to protect the kid. The anger in his voice was raw when he described watching IG-11 point his blaster at the child.
As the dusty, cracked surface of the planet came into view, you asked, “Is that what caused your thing with droids?”
“What thing?”
“Din.”
He was silent for a long moment.
“Droids destroyed my home planet, killed my parents. They’re the reason I was a foundling as a child.”
His words washed over you, and your heart dropped. You leaned forward in your seat to put a hand on his shoulder. He stayed perfectly still, helmet trained on the controls in front of him.
“I’m sorry.”
He nodded stiffly and reached up to squeeze your hand briefly.
“We’re about to land.”
You took that as a cue to drop the subject for now.
***
You and Din, the kid in his arms, approached a small collection of low structures. You swept your eyes across the uniform landscape—all was dry and sienna and flat. The Ugnaught’s homestead was the only sign of habitation in sight. The buildings were brown and domed, and windmills creaked slowly in the warm breeze. Three blurrgs in a large corral watched you balefully.
“Mandalorian!” the Ugnaught greeted, emerging from the door of his low home.
“Ugnaught,” Din replied with a nod.
“I did not think I would see you here again. What business brings you back to Arvala-7?”
“I was hoping that my friends could stay with you for a couple nights—I’ll pay you for the lodging.”
Of course he'd refer to me and a literal infant as his "friends."
You introduced yourself, offering your hand.
The Ugnaught bowed his head slightly as he clasped your hand: “It is nice to make your acquaintance. I am Kuill.”
At least Din knows his name now.
Kuill turned back to Din. “The child remains in your care,” he observed.
“Yes,” said Din, offering no explanation. He set the child down on the ground, and he toddled his way slowly over to Kuill.
Kuill scooped up the baby, and he chirruped happily, reaching toward his whiskery mustache.
“It hasn’t grown much.”
“I think it might be a Strand-Cast.”
You shot Din a skeptical look. He’d never shared this particular theory of his with you.
“I don’t think it was engineered. I’ve worked in the gene farms. This one looks evolved. Too ugly,” mused Kuill.
You raised your eyebrows at the frankness of his statement. He is not ugly.
“Your friends are welcome to stay with me. No payment will be necessary. I have spoken.” Kuill turned and headed back inside without so much as a backward glance.
“I insist,” Din said to his back.
Kuill disappeared into his home.
Din turned to you: “He does that. Just ends a conversation like that.”
“I understand why the two of you get along so well. Men of few words.” You raised an eyebrow at him.
Din nodded, reinforcing your point inadvertently.
You and Din stepped closer to each other at the same time. For the first time, you let the concern you were feeling color your features.
“I’ll be back in three days, if not sooner.”
He was padding his timeline in response to the worry that was etched across your face. You knew Din could defend himself—that wasn’t your fear. It was that, whether he liked to admit it or not, he occasionally let trust blind him. The irony of that wasn’t lost on you, considering how long it had taken for him to trust you. This was the trademark paradox of Din. He was loath to fully let people in, but he had a tendency to take people at face value and assume they would keep their word—because he always kept his word. He had a surprisingly generous worldview for someone with such a violent profession and brutal past.
Din reached down to grab something small that was tucked in his belt—the metal ball from one of the controls in the cockpit that the kid loved to play with. He occasionally pretended to be irritated whenever he wanted to play with it, but you knew he found it endearing.
He handed it to you. “He’ll want that.”
You smiled and nodded, looking at the sphere in your palm. Din raised a hand to your chin and tilted your face back up to his.
Do we... hug? He doesn’t seem like a hugger.
So instead, you offered, “Be careful, okay?”
“I will,” he promised. He stayed there for a moment longer, looking at you and rubbing his thumb along your cheek. Before you could decide if you should also try to hug him, he turned abruptly to walk back to the Crest.
You stayed and watched him as he walked the distance back to the ship and disappeared up the ramp. You stayed and watched as the Razor Crest rumbled to life and took off. You stayed and watched as it ascended through the atmosphere and vanished from view.
***
It was a relief to be off the ship for a few days—even if Arvala-7 wasn’t exactly your ideal planet. It would be a treat to eat real food, instead of shelf-stable ration packs, and to have more than the limited space of the ship to move around in... not to mention an actual bed.
Kuill was a kind and welcoming host. He offered you his spare room, where you placed your things, and you sat down for tea together in his small kitchen.
“How did you come to be in the company of the Mandalorian and the child?”
“I guess he has a soft spot for people who are wanted by the Empire?” you chuckled, and Kuill nodded somberly. “Now, we’re just helping each other out.” You weren’t really sure how else to explain it.
Kuill didn’t press you anymore than that, nodding sagely. Instead, while you sipped your tea with the kid on your lap, he told you about his background—decades of indentured servitude to the Empire before he worked off his debt and bought his freedom—in the solemn, frugal way that was clearly characteristic of the Ugnaught. You understood why Din trusted him: he was forthright, calm, wise.
“What can I help you with while I’m here?” you asked, already anxious to find something to occupy your time.
“You are my guest. You do not need to do any work.”
“I would be happy to,” you insisted. “I would rather be busy. I can help with cleaning or repairs—whatever you need. My formal training was in programming, but I’ve picked up general skills along the way.”
Kuill nodded and said, “Come.”
He turned and walked out of his house. You set down your tea on the table and followed him, the child tucked in the crook of your elbow, happily clutching the silver ball. Kuill stopped in front of the workstation that was a short distance from his doorway. Tools and wiring and various speeder parts were arranged on and around a long workbench and a collection of smaller tables and shelves. The circular backdrop of the workbench was the repurposed window of a TIE fighter.
An assassin droid was laid across the tabletop.
“Is this the droid that Mando shot?”
“I believe so, yes. It was left behind, in the Mandalorian’s wake of destruction. I found it lying where it fell—devoid of all life. I recovered the flotsam and staked it as my own in accordance with the Charter of the New Republic. Little remains of its neural harness. Reconstruction will be quite difficult.”
“What are your plans for it?”
“To convert it from an assassin droid to something more useful: a protocol and nurse droid.”
You nodded. “Handy.”
“I will have to reconstruct the neural harness, and then it will have to relearn every function from scratch. It will be a blank slate on which to program something nurturing instead of destructive. You may help me restore him if you would like.”
“Of course.”
The two of you got to work.
***
That night, when you lay down to sleep, you tossed and turned. The child was snuggled in a makeshift crib next to your bed. You found yourself sitting up periodically to check on him. Every time you checked on him, he was sleeping soundly.
Eventually, you slipped out of your bed, tiptoed quietly through the house, and walked out into the cold, clear night. You walked aimlessly for a while, circling the corral of blurrgs. They were asleep, eyes shut tight, standing in a close clump. Then you turned to head out across the open plain and watch the stars through the thin veil of clouds that dusted the sky.
You were starting to regret that you hadn’t pushed harder to go with Din. He was with a whole team of people who sounded untrustworthy at best, malicious at worst. You couldn’t help but think of all the things you should have said to him before he left. You hadn’t even hugged him.
It was freaking you out a little just how attached you were to a man who you’d known for a couple months.
You walked until the chill of the night air became too much, then turned back.
In the morning, you sat at Kuill’s kitchen table again, feeding the child. Kuill moved around the small food prep area, pulling together breakfast and making tea.
You followed Kuill as he went about his daily jobs, caring for the blurrgs, doing routine maintenance, and continuing the work on IG-11.
You were sweating in the sun, hands covered in grease, concentrating on refitting a damaged arm joint when Kuill’s calm voice brought you out of your train of thought.
“It is curious that the Mandalorian elected to keep the child.”
You looked up at him. “He secretly has a soft heart,” you said, smiling to yourself.
“Yes, that much is clear, but he is also set in his beliefs, and this choice went against the Guild Code. What is curious is that such a small being could inspire a change of heart in such a rigid person.”
You considered his words.
“I... think he was just waiting to find a greater purpose than hunting, to find someone to love, you know? It comes naturally to him, but I don’t think he’d ever had the chance.”
Kuill hummed thoughtfully. “Is that not what we are all doing—looking for a greater purpose?”
“I guess?” You shrugged.
“And have you?”
“Have I what?” you asked, wiping a bead of sweat off your forehead.
“Have you found the greater purpose you were looking for?”
You considered for a moment then said, “Well... I found a purpose a long time ago, when I joined the Alliance, and since then, I’ve been too busy trying to escape the wrath of the Empire to really think about what’s next in the larger sense... Staying alive has been the main priority.”
Kuill hummed again, glancing over at the kid. “You weren’t looking for something greater, but it appears to have found you.”
“I...,” you started. You watched the child, who was siting on the hard ground admiring the silver ball clutched in his hand. “I’m not sure.”
“I have spoken,” said Kuill, bowing his head, and he lapsed back into silence.
You watched the kid as he dropped the ball and staggered to his feet, squealing excitedly as he chased a lizard that darted past him. You wondered where Din was at this exact moment, and your heart squeezed in a familiar way.
***
The second night was much like the first. You walked outside for some time, thinking of all the awful things that could be happening to Din.
What if they turn on him?
What if another hunter finds him?
What if he doesn’t come back?
It wasn't a crazy thought. You were used to people not coming back.
Until that moment, you hadn't considered that you'd be the sole guardian of the kid if Din didn't return. For a split second, you felt the crushing weight of responsibility for the life and safety and happiness of the tiny green child that Din must feel at all times.
Eventually you fell into a fitful sleep, waking early, and the day dawned bright and cold. As the sun climbed, the chill rapidly dissipated, making way for a dry heat that seemed to be the only weather condition on Arvala-7.
You spent the morning helping Kuill continue the repairs on IG-11. You did your best to not count the hours that slipped by. He’d said it could take three days, so there was no reason to be concerned yet.
But... did he mean he would return ON the third day? Or the fourth day?
And for that matter... did the day he left count as day one? Or was yesterday day one?
Did he mean seventy-two hours from the time he left? Or that he’d be back at the start of the third day?
How did I not clarify this before he left??
That evening, you were in deep in discussion about artificial intelligence when Kuill said, “I believe your Mandalorian has returned to you.” He pointed behind you, and you whipped around to see the Crest touching down in a cloud of dust in the distance.
“Will you—?” you asked, turning back to Kuill.
“I will watch the child.” He seemed vaguely amused by your enthusiasm.
You sprang to your feet and walked as fast as you could toward the Crest. You briefly considered running, but that felt dramatic. He’d only been gone a couple days.
Why did he land so fucking far away?
You’d made it about half the distance when the ramp of the Crest finally began to lower with a hiss. Your resolve snapped, and you started to jog. Din descended the ramp, and you were so relieved to see him that you weren’t even embarrassed anymore that you were literally running to him.
Din cocked his head—a curious head tilt—when he saw you sprinting at him across the dusty ground. He paused at the bottom of the ramp.
“Are you—?” he started to say as you crashed into his chest and wrapped your arms around him. He barely budged upon impact.
His shoulders relaxed immediately, and he pulled you tight against him.
Well, if he wasn’t a hugger before, he is now.
“I’m okay,” he reassured you.
“Good,” you said into the fabric bunched around his neck.
After a moment, you released him and stepped back, the steadying weight of his hands remaining on your arms. He looked like he was in one piece, but the slight heaviness in his shoulders told you that the job had taken a toll on him.
“I, uh, missed you too,” he said, a little awkwardly.
You smiled at him and took his gloved hand in yours to walk back towards Kuill’s home. You felt slightly giddy that you were casually holding the Mandalorian’s hand. He seemed taken by it too, his helmet tilted down to where your fingers were intertwined.
“The kid?” he asked, looking up to your face.
“He’s good. Misses you, I think. Ate several frogs. And one lizard. The usual. He is disgusting,” you laughed.
Din made a sound that you would almost swear was a snort. “Yeah, he is,” he agreed fondly.
Kuill was waiting outside his home, the child in his arms. When you and Din were close, Kuill set him down, and the baby tottered over to wrap his tiny arms around Din’s calf.
You watched as Din bent stiffly, slowly to pick up the kid.
“You’re hurt,” you realized.
“I'm fine,” he said.
You felt sure that wasn’t true, but you let it be for the moment.
“Thank you,” Din addressed Kuill. He reached into the pouch of his belt for credits.
“I will not accept payment,” Kuill insisted, shaking his head. “In fact, your friend here helped me make great progress on my current project.” Kuill raised his eyebrows at you.
“Very well,” Din acquiesced.
You gathered your things and said your thank yous and goodbyes, returning to the Crest, which—with a jolt—you realized was already starting to feel like home.

Pairing: Harry Styles x OC (Ariel Bardin)
Managing a five-star restaurant was no easy task. Ariel had to make sure all of the schedules for the waitstaff were up to date, double check that the cleaning crew left everything spotless, and make sure those that came in early had set up the tables as beautiful as can be. There were many headaches that came with all of it: drama with the waitstaff, customers trying to get in without reservations, large parties that couldn’t be turned away because it was for someone famous – it’s what made the previous lead manager of Je T’aime quit. The owner, who lived far away, was not happy about this news since the previous lead manager had been there for years. So, he sent in the only person he trusted to get the job done – his daughter, Ariel Bardin.
Ariel was only twenty-seven, but she was honored when her father asked her to take over. She had plenty of experience in the food service industry, and she watched her father run the place for years. It was always her dream to manage Je T’aime, and now she finally had the chance. Being a lead manager meant giving up a lot of personal time, having to step in when the kitchen got busy, running food, and a lot more. Ariel was more than up to the task.
The head chef of the restaurant wasn’t so thrilled with the change in personnel, though. He had a good relationship with the previous manager in that the manager let him run the kitchen how he liked. Chef Harry had never met Ariel, but he had a feeling things would be a lot different. He was very particular, and ran a tight ship. He didn’t want someone else coming in and thinking they could take command. He knew he needed to get ahead of things. He had emailed her to see if she wanted to meet for dinner to discuss things before her first day, but she declined. Ariel appreciated the initiative, but she explained that she wanted to meet the entire kitchen crew at the same time. Harry was already annoyed that his efforts were thwarted.
Ariel was excited for her first day. She made sure to get a new pair of no slip grip shoes that weren’t totally ugly. She put on a pair of black slacks and paired it with a baby blue blouse. Lastly, she put her hair up in a cute ponytail, and put on a little eye makeup before heading out. She had requested a tasting at the restaurant before it opened for dinner, and she wanted to leave the cooks plenty of time to get their prepping done. She also wanted to get their early enough to set up her new office.
Before entering the restaurant, she takes a deep breath. She smiles and waves to the people setting up the dining tables as she makes her way towards the kitchen. She remembers being a little girl and going to work with her father. She loved it when he’d sit her up on one of the counters because the cooks would always let her taste test their latest creations. They figured if a child liked the cuisine, then adults would too. Ariel goes right to her new office, and smiles. Arthur had kept up the family photo of Ariel’s parents. Her mother was pregnant with her when they opened Je T’aime. In fact, her father named it that because Ariel’s mother was French, and her father learned the language just for her. Ariel’s mother passed a few years back, and it was pretty devastating. She was a wonderful woman, and Ariel always hoped to have a romance like theirs.
She snaps herself out of her thoughts, and starts taking out the things she brought with her from the box she was carrying. This was going to be a great day, she could feel it. She takes out a notepad and pen, and heads back out to the kitchen towards the chef’s office. She taps on the door frame when she sees two men sitting inside chatting.
“Hello?” She says to them, and they both turn in their chairs to look at her. “I’m Ariel, the new lead manager. Which one of you is Chef Harry?”
“That would be me.” Harry stands up to shake her hand.
“It’s so nice to finally meet you. So, that makes you Chef Garrett, right?” She says to the other man.
“Correct, I’m the sous chef, it’s nice to meet you, Ariel.” He shakes her hand as well.
“Wonderful, is everything ready for the tasting? The menu’s changed a lot over the years, and I want to see if it needs anymore.”
“With all due respect,” Harry starts, “the menu’s more than perfect. It changes seasonally as is.” He crosses his arms.
“With all due respect, Chef, I don’t particularly care.” She smirks and crosses her own arms. “I’ve worked hard to get here, and my father finally trusts me to take care of this place. I’m not going to make him regret it. Now, if I like everything, then nothing will need to change. But I’ve got a couple of ideas I may like to try out, and you’ll have to deal with it when the time comes.” She smiles and leaves the office.
Harry and Garrett share a look, and follow her out. A few of the other cooks had already set up the plates for the tasting. Ariel greeted all of them warmly, and started tasting the food. She was impressed, for the most part, but she definitely had notes.
“These mashed potatoes could be whipped a bit more…possibly with more sour cream?” She says. “And this chicken…more seasoning could do it some good. The salmon is excellent, though, just delicious.”
“Chef Harry prepared that.” One of the cooks says, and Ariel looks back at Harry who had a smirk on his face.
Ariel narrows her eyes at him, and then turns her attention back to the food. She enjoyed the pasta dishes, but she makes a face when she gets to the steak frites.
“What…what are these?” Ariel asks as she points at the fries.
“French fries.” Garrett says.
“Mhm, yeah, they should be steak fries, freshly made. These look like they were frozen before.”
“Because they are.” Harry says. “They’re more cost effective. We season them after they’re fried, and they’re great for when kids come in.”
“Kids like steak fries just the same. I want fresh cut potatoes used. They’re more authentic. This isn’t a fast food restaurant. You already have to order potatoes for the mashed potatoes, right? I bet we’d get a discount if we order a larger quantity. We can talk it about it later.”
After tasting a few more things, and thanking the cooks, Ariel heads into the dining room to start greeting the waitstaff. Things felt a lot less hostile with them. Harry was fuming in his office with Garrett.
“It’s her first day and she already wants to change things! And the worst part is, she’s completely right about the bloody fries.” Harry huffs. “Steak fries would be ten times better!”
“Chill, Harry. She just needs to see how well you run things while it’s busy, and she’ll understand her place here. This is your kitchen.”
“Right, good idea. Her real job is to manage the waitstaff.”
Ariel was on fire. It was a busy night because blackened salmon was the special. She was helping run food, and the waitstaff was extremely impressed. The previous manager rarely helped liked that. She was even running bread and water to tables, starting off orders, and helping seat. She even went behind the bar to help get drinks to tables, and help the bartenders catch up. It was a great first impression. She was exhausted by the time she got to sit in her office at the end of the night. She sat with the head hostess to go over the receipts before cutting her for the night. Her last task was to make sure the kitchen was closed down properly after locking up the safe.
“Ariel?” One of the cooks asks her as she steps out. “Would like anything for dinner before start to throw things away?”
“Throw things away?” She furrows her brows. “I have food at home, thank you, but don’t throw anything out. Surely we can start up a makeshift compost before getting a real one.”
“Oh, well, we don’t throw everything away, just-“
“Can you let me see all of the leftovers that usually get put in the trash?”
The cook nods, and she follows him. Harry was in his office checking over what the most popular orders of the night was, and getting some paperwork done. He notices Ariel speaking with Eddy, and he sighs. He gets up, and makes his way to where they are.
“Is there any particular reason your keeping Eddy from his sidework?” Harry asks her.
“I asked him to show me what usually gets thrown out. This could easily be donated or used for compost. I’ll be coming in early tomorrow to set up a new compost area, and I’ll be talking with the local food kitchens to see what they need. This is good food, and it shouldn’t be wasted.” She crosses her arms. “Is that going to be a problem?”
“Why,” he sucks his teeth, “Come to my office when you’re done telling my staff what to do, we need to talk.” Harry turns on his heel and goes into his office, nearly slamming the door.
Ariel helps the kitchen and dish crew clean a few things up, earning herself even more brownie points, before going into Harry’s office. He doesn’t look up at her until she clears her throat.
“You wanted to talk?” She says.
“Yeah, have a seat.”
“I’d prefer to stand, thanks.”
Harry turns in his seat, and looks up at her.
“Are you and I going to have a problem?” He asks, standing up, towering over her, but she stands her ground.
“I dont know, are we? Are you seriously going to tell me that you never thought of composting?”
“It’s expensive. We find other ways to stay green, though. You would have known that if you had gone to dinner with me. I could have told you everything you needed to know. But no, you blew me off, and decided to find every possible way to embarrass me and undermine me in front of my staff.”
“Look, Chef, I’m sorry if you feel disrespected, that wasn’t my intention. I just think a lot of changes need to be made. I spoke with the dining staff just the same, it wasn’t just your staff. This place means a lot to me, and I just want to make sure it’s being run well. I…I didn’t think a dinner would be appropriate for us.”
“Why? It’s not like I was asking you out on a date.” He scoffs.
“No, but I just assumed you were going to try to schmooze me or something, and I didn’t want to deal with it. Am I wrong in thinking you were going to try to work me over?”
“It wasn’t to work you over, but the last manager and I sort of had an understanding.”
“Which was what?”
“I do my thing, he does his, and we don’t get into each other’s hair.”
“Well, that’s not how this is going to work.” She gestures between the two of them. “I don’t want things getting hostile between us, for the sake of the staff. I didn’t think we’d be best friends or anything…but I was hoping we’d at least get along.”
“I don’t think that’s gonna happen. Not a great first impression.” He crosses his arms.
“Same could be said to you.” She scoffs. “If you start doing things better, then I won’t have a reason to talk to you. So, do better, Chef.” She looks him up and down, and then leaves his office.
Harry wanted to pull his hair out. This woman was going to make his life a living hell, he could feel it.
//
“What kind of a name is Ariel, anyways?” Garrett scoffs a week or so later. He was in charge of the new composter, and he wasn’t thrilled about it.
“I know! We her parents big fans of The Little Mermaid?” Harry chuckles.
“It’s French.” Ariel says, entering Harry’s office. “And it’s a family name. My grandmother’s name was Ariel, and my mother named me after her.” She looks at both of them and smirks. “And, Ariel just so happens to be my favorite Disney princess, so it’s an honor on many accounts.”
“Did you need something?” Garrett asks her.
“Yes, actually. I wanted to talk about Passover, it’s coming up and we need to talk about a kosher menu.”
“Seems like something for just the two of you to discuss.” Garrett says, and leaves quickly. Ariel takes his seat.
“A kosher menu, huh? Don’t you need a separate kitchen for that?”
“Not necessarily. I was just sort of thinking we could offer some different specials throughout the week.”
“Like what?”
“I’ve got a killer brisket recipe, we could offer a matzah ball soup too. There’s lots of stuff we could whip up. Oh! Macaroons would be good, and maybe some matzah bark as well. I’ve got recipes for all of it if you’re game.”
“When’s Passover?” He sighs and looks at the calendar on the wall.
“At the end of March, plenty of time to order what we need.”
“You know we do a brunch on Easter, right?”
“Yes, I’m aware.” She nods. “If we do for one, we should do for others.”
“If you email me the recipes, I can work on them.”
“Alright, I can do that. I ask that you don’t tweak them. They’re family recipes and I promise they’re golden.”
“One of our cooks is Jewish, he can work on them. I’ll be focused on the brunch food.”
“Oh…well, great, okay.” She stands up. “Thanks for hearing me out. I think a lot of our customers will be excited, and it’ll being good attention.”
“Listen, uh…I’m sorry about Garrett and I before. We were just-“
“Don’t.” She shakes her head. “I know you both don’t like me. I’m a bossy bitch that’s come in and made things difficult, I get it. This isn’t my first male-led restaurant that I’ve managed.”
“Hey, I’ve got no problem with women in charge.” Harry stands up. “You just came in like a bull.”
“Aw, would you have preferred if I pouted my lips and batted my eyes at you, and asked pretty please?” She pouts her lips and bats her eyes at him, making his mouth fall open. She smirks at him and shakes her head. “It’s too easy.” She laughs and leaves his office.
If he couldn’t stand her before, he definitely couldn’t stand her now.
//
It really pissed Harry off at how much the Passover food was liked. The restaurant had never been busier, getting completely booked with reservations from patrons that had never been before, but heard about the diverse specials. Then there was the Easter brunch. Ariel walked in with her hair half pulled up, and the rest of it flowing. She was wearing this gorgeous pastel pink blouse along with some navy slacks. She was dolled up for the holiday. She pumped up the staff during the pre-meal chat, and then she started running around with coffee carafes to help out the busy staff.
It was an elegant brunch, and Harry was also dressed up because the head chef usually went around the dining room checking in with the patrons. He wore his nicest chef’s jacket, and made sure his hair wasn’t too out of sorts before he went into the dining room. Ariel had never seen him be so personable. He was genuinely laughing with people at their tables, she couldn’t believe it.
Ariel was tired, but her customers were happy, and she got to go home around four, which was a blessing in disguise. She couldn’t wait to get home and flop herself onto her bed. She just needed to put the cash in the safe, and check the receipts.
“Is there any lobster mac ‘n cheese left?” She asks as she walks over to the line.
“Got a pan of it right here.” Eddy smiles at her.
“Amazing, I’ve been looking forward to it all day.” She scoops some into a to-go container, and adds a couple of other things she wanted.
“Why is that you always like the food I make the best?” Harry smirks as he also fills up a container for himself.
“I’m not too big to admit you’re a very talented chef, Harry.” She says and looks at him. “It’s your personality that could use some work, Happy Easter.” She smiles at him. “Great job today, everyone!” She exclaims before making her way back to her office.
“Man, did you see Ari’s tits in that shirt today?” One cook says to another.
“Her tits? I was too busy sneaking a peek at that ass of hers. Wouldn’t mind tapping it.”
“Oi.” Harry says to them. “None of that, alright? It’s rude.”
“C’mon, Chef.” One of the cooks says. “I know you don’t like her, but even you can admit she’s hot.”
“Do you all want to get out of here on time to see your families?!” Harry shouts. “Finish cleaning up.” He huffs, and goes back to his own office.
“He’s not wrong.” Garrett says to the cooks. “Don’t be disrespectful.”
“Yeah.” Eddy chimes in. “Don’t think your girlfriends would appreciate it very much if they knew you were talking about another woman like that.”
Harry was about to head out for the day. He was going to go home and cuddle up with cat, Luna, and veg out. He walks by Ariel’s office, and he stops short. He sees her sitting with her face in her hands. He looks around behind him, they were the last two people there.
“Hey, are you alright?” He says as he opens the door, and she jumps in her chair a bit, obviously startled.
“Yeah.” She wipes under eyes. “I’m fine, why?”
“You just…were you crying?”
“No, don’t be silly.” She wipes under eyes again. “I’m just a little sweaty, I ran around a ton today.”
“How was the mac ‘n cheese?”
“I haven’t eaten it yet, I’m bringing it home…”
“When are you headed out?”
“Soon.”
“I can wait for you, if you want…”
“I’m all set.”
“Ariel, if something’s wrong-“
“Nothing’s wrong! Go home, Harry! I’m just finishing some things up.”
“You know something, you are a bitch.” He puts his hands on his hips. “I was just trying to be nice, and you have to be so nasty about it!”
“Right, because I need a fuckwad like you checking on me.” She rolls her eyes. She takes her leftovers and puts them in the trash.
“What are you doing?!”
“I’ve lost my appetite.” She says, standing up, grabbing her purse, and brushing by him on her way out.
Harry was shocked Ariel hadn’t turned his hair white with how much she stressed him out. The interaction they had pissed him off to no end. He had defended her, told his staff not to talk about her a certain way. Then, when he sees her in distress, she’s as ungrateful as ever. He tried calming down in the shower, but that didn’t work. He tried watching TV with Luna, but he just wanted to know what she had been so upset about in the first place.
He takes out his phone, and searches her on Facebook. He figured she must have one, if not he would search Instagram. He rolls his eyes when he sees how gorgeous she looks in her profile picture. She had most of her privacy settings on, but his eyes widen when he sees her tagged in a post. It was written in French.
Il y a quinze ans aujourd'hui, nous avons perdu notre Nana Ariel. Comme elle nous manque tellement, et nos étés avec elle sur les plages françaises.
Harry only understood a few words, so he taps the translate button: Fifteen years ago today, we lost our Nana Ariel. How we miss her so, and our summers with her on the French beaches. He furrows his eyebrows at the photos. It must have been a cousin that tagged Ariel. Her nana looked like a lovely woman.
“Shit.” Harry sighs. Ariel was probably putting on a brave face all day. He knew her mother had passed, but he wasn’t sure about her grandmother. Her female figures were gone, and he called her a bitch to her face. He felt terrible. “Jesus fucking Christ.”
Harry gets off his couch and goes into his kitchen. An hour or so later, he’s driving to Ariel’s house to deliver a fresh lobster mac n’ cheese. He was lucky he knew her address. She lived in a quaint neighborhood. He pulls up out front, and goes up to her door, ringing the bell. After a few moments she opens the door. She was in a long robe, and slippers. Her hair was up in a bun on the top of her head.
“Harry?”
“Here, feel better.” He practically shoves the casserole dish into her arms. “And…I’m sorry I said that to you, okay?”
“What is this?”
“Lobster mac n’ cheese. You threw yours out because I was being an ass…but to be fair you snapped at me first.”
“What made you do this?”
“The Easter bunny came to me in a dream, alright? It doesn’t matter, just take it and eat it. M’sure you don’t feel like cooking after such a long day.”
“Well, you’re right.” She raises an eyebrow at him. “I’ll take it, thank you. I shouldn’t have been so short with you.”
“I shouldn’t have tried to pry. I’ll see you Tuesday.”
“Yeah….” She almost invited him to have some with her, but as nice as the gesture was, she didn’t really feel like spending anymore time with him today. So she lets him leave.
Harry was back on his couch in no time with Luna, feeling much better than he did before. He feels his phone buzz, and he looks down to check his notifications.
Ariel Bardin: I don’t know what makes me more furious, the fact that you’re an incredible cook, or the fact that such a simple dish could make me feel ten times better
Harry smirks down at the message. This didn’t change anything between the two of them, but Harry felt a little better knowing there was a bit of a common ground between them now. They didn’t have to like one another, but maybe there would be a bit more respect.
//
There was a respect between them, but the two still bickered and argued and made things difficult for one another. He’d call her a spoiled brat, and she’d call him a fat headed fuck, it was just their thing. No one in the kitchen seemed to mind, especially because if Harry was yelling at her, then he wasn’t yelling at them. Garrett had warmed up to Ariel considerably over the last few months. He was starting to see that she really did mean well, and over time the changes she made were for the better.
A lot of people understood why Ariel and Harry butted heads so much. They both had dominant personalities, and kitchens were hot. Usually one of them would go into the walk-in fridge, and come out much more cooled down. As the summer months started, it just got worse.
“I’m not sending out wilted lettuce!” Harry screamed at her.
“It’s not wilted!” Ariel screamed back.
“Did you go to culinary school?! You’re not the fucking expert, I am!”
“So, you’re just going to chuck perfectly good lettuce because you think it’s wilted! Put your fucking glasses on!”
“Enough!” Garrett yells. “We’ll double check the lettuce and make sure none of the dingier looking pieces get sent out. Take a break, the kids are getting scared.” He was referring to the kitchen staff, and to the few waitstaff that were in the kitchen.
They both growl and walk away from one another. They stayed away from each other for the rest of the night. Ariel was there late catching up on some paperwork. She jumped when she heard something fall on the ground. She thought everyone had gone home for the night. When she goes out to the kitchen to see Harry, she sighs with relief.
“Scared the shit out of me, what are you still doing here?” She storms over to him.
“Prepping the dinner roll dough so it’s ready to go for tomorrow. It’s been too hot to make it in the morning. The prep cooks can just come in and use the ovens while it’s still cool if the dough’s already set and proofed.” He says as he continues to knead the dough on the counter.
“Why not have someone else do it?”
“Why should I make someone else stay late?” He scoffs.
“Well…here, I’ll get an apron so I can help.”
“I’m all set.”
“Don’t be silly, it’ll help you get out of here faster.”
“What do you care about that?”
“God, you’re so stubborn.” She goes to wash her hands, and steps over to the dough, but he swats her hand away when she goes to reach for it.
“Go home, Ariel.”
“What the fuck is your problem?!”
“You! You’re my fucking problem! Cooking is supposed to be relaxing, this is my me time, and you’re ruining it!”
“Well, excuse me for offering to help!”
“I don’t need your help!” He slams a fist down on the counter, causing flour to splatter onto her chest and face. “Oops.” He smirks.
Ariel wipes her face off, gathers a bit of flour, and flicks it into Harry’s face. He takes a deep breath and looks at her.
“Oops.” She says in the same mocking tone he had.
“You know, for someone who hates wasting food, I’d think you’d be more careful.” He says, wiping his face off. “It was an accident when I did it.”
“Oh well.” She shrugs.
“You,” he starts walking towards her, backing her up to the opposite counter, “are one of the most infuriating people I have ever met.” They were practically chest to chest. She could feel his breath fanning over her face. “I wish you never started working here.”
“You know what they say, can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.” She says, looking up at him with a searing gaze.
“It’s my kitchen, you get out.”
“Make me.”
Harry’s eyes widen, and his nostrils flare. He was about ready to boil over. He’s not sure what comes over him, but his flour covered hands reach up to cup her cheeks, and he leans down to kiss her roughly, pressing her further against the counter. She gasps as he does it, but she doesn’t fight him. She doesn’t push him away, she doesn’t do a thing to get him to stop. In fact, she reaches to tug at his shirt so he could be even closer to her. She could taste the mint from his gum, and his lips were insanely soft. He breaks the kiss first, but doesn’t move her hands from her face.
She opens her mouth to speak, possibly to question him on why he kissed her, but she doesn’t get the chance because he’s kissing her again, this time licking into her mouth. She pushes against him, backing him up to the opposite counter, and he grunts against her. Her arms move to wrap around his neck, and her fingers tug at his hair. Just as she was sucking on his tongue, he shoves her up against a nearby wall, and lifts her up. She wraps her legs around his waist, and he carries her over to a counter to sit her on.
Their lips hadn’t parted, and they both needed air, but neither could stop. Harry kisses sloppily towards her neck, and she bites on her bottom lip to suppress a whimper. She reaches down to untie the apron he had on, and she tugs it off. His hands work to undo her pants just as he bites down on the crook of her neck, making her gasp.
“Lift your hips ups.” He says into her ear before nibbling onto her lobe. She does as he says so he can tug her pants down. He places his hands on her thighs, and scratches his nails down them before looking at her. “You want this?” She nods yes at him. “Need you to actually say it. I’m not gonna do anything you don’t want.”
“I want it.” Her cheeks flush. “Happy now?”
“Very.” He growls, and bites down on her bottom lip before letting it snap back. He reaches between her legs, and he groans. “You’re soaked, did yelling at me rile you up?”
“No.” She blushes, and then tugs at his hair. “Stop talking before I change my mind.”
He tugs her panties to the side so he can get a real feel for how wet she is. He plunges two fingers inside of her, and her mouth falls open. Her head rolls back as he pumps them in and out of her.
“Christ, when was the last time someone fucked you?” He grunts. “You’re so tight.”
“Harry, please, shut the fuck up.” She grits her teeth and reaches for the button on his pants.
“Only cause you said please.” He smirks, and she flicks his forehead.
He sucks his teeth and reaches into his back pocket for his wallet, pulling out a condom. She rolls her eyes at the fact that he’s one of those guys that kept a condom in his wallet, but she wasn’t going to complain too much. She was glad he had one. He takes himself out of his pants, getting them down just enough, and rolls the condom on. He looks at her, just to make sure one more time that it was alright and she nods. He splays his hands on her back, pulling her closer as he pushes inside.
“Fucking, shit.” He grunts.
“Try to last longer than a minute there, sport.” She says, trying desperately not to wince at the stretch he was giving her.
“God, I fucking hate you so much.” He says as he starts to thrust in and out of her. She grips his shoulders to hold onto him.
“The feeling’s, ngh, mutual.” She bites down into his shoulder to suppress her moans, but he yanks her head back by her ponytail.
“If I’m gonna fuck you, you’re gonna let out every single little sound, do you understand?”
“You really like telling me what to do.” She grunts.
“And you’re shit at listening.”
“So are you!”
“Weren’t you just telling me to shut up?! Take your own fucking advice!”
She lets out an exasperated noise, and crashes her mouth back to his. He grips her hips as he pounds into her. Her legs wrap tighter around him to get him even closer. They’re both moaning into the other’s mouths. One of his hands leaves her hip, and he brings it over to rub at her clit. She whimpers, and starts panting. He nips at her lips, and works his way back to her neck.
“Fuck, ugh, that’s it.” She mewls. “I’m close, don’t stop.”
“Can feel you squeezing me, like the way I feel?” He licks up her neck back to her ear, and then slots his mouth over hers, not even giving her a chance to answer him before she’s crying out.
She lets her body rest against his as he picks up the pace. He was close himself, but he was trying to savor how good she felt. She was soaked between her legs because of him. He’d never let her live this down. A few more thrusts, and he’s spilling into the condom.
He rests his forehead against hers for a few moments as he catches his breath. He pulls out of her, and tugs her panties back into place before helping her off the counter. They both wordlessly work to get their clothes back on properly.
“So, uh, do you really not want help with the dough?” She asks, smoothing some hair away from her face.
“No, it shouldn’t take me too much longer…thank you.” He chews on his bottom lip. “Why don’t you wait, though, I’ll walk you to your car.”
“Sure…I was in the middle of some paperwork anyways. Just come get me when you’re done.”
Harry nods and goes to wash his hands before getting back to what he was doing. Ariel makes her way to the bathroom to properly clean herself up. They walk to the parking lot together later in silence. He makes sure her car starts before driving off and heading home to Luna.
//
Work was…awkward after that. Everyone was confused because the kitchen had never been more quiet. Ariel had mostly kept to herself and if she had something to say, she was less brash. Harry was the same towards her.
“Do you think we could add pudding pie to the summer dessert menu?” She asks him. “Like an Oreo thing?”
“Um, sure, yeah…should be easy enough to work into the rotation.” He says. “Good, uh, good suggestion.” He swallows.
“Thanks, Chef.” She nods and walks away from him.
“Dude, not that I’m complaining, but what’s up with you two?” Garrett whispers to him as they both work to chop vegetables.
“Nothing.” Harry shrugs a shoulder. “We’ve just…reached an understanding, is all. We, uh, hashed things out a week or so ago.” He clears his throat. “Just focus on the your beets for the borsht. I need to get started on that chilled melon soup.”
Harry heads into the walk-in fridge to grab the cantaloupe he had already cut up to make the soup with. He was essentially making a creamy smoothie, but this was one of their summer best sellers. He stops short when he sees Ariel trying to reach for something on the top shelf.
“Need a hand?” He asks, and it startles her.
“Y-yeah, could you get the, uh, shredded Brussels down for me?”
Harry nods and reaches above her to grab the pan. He hands it to her, and she thanks him before making her way towards the door.
“Ariel?”
“Yes?”
“How…how have you been since-“
“We can’t talk about it now.” She shakes her head. “Find me later if you want.”
And that’s what he does. At the end of the night, Harry goes into Ariel’s office and sits down at the spare chair she had.
“So…what’s up?” She asks him.
“I just wanted to see how you were since we, you know…” He looks away from her for a moment. “We haven’t talked about it.”
“I didn’t think you wanted to.” She shrugs. “It’s really not that big of a deal, it was a heat of the moment thing.”
“Yeah.” He swallows. “Nothing more to it than that. I can’t help but notice that things have been a tad more civil between us over the last week.”
“I just haven’t wanted to make waves, I guess. Sort of hard to yell at the guy that made me come as hard as I did.” She says shyly, and he smiles.
“Glad I could finally be of some use to you.” He smirks.
“Don’t get too cocky. I have things at home that make me feel even better.” She smirks and his face falls.
“It was good, though, right?”
“Yeah…nice way to get some frustration out.”
“I think…I think that’s how we make things work here.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, think of how peaceful everything’s been this week with us being nicer to each other. I think when we’re starting to get on each other’s nerves we should just fuck because clearly talking shit out doesn’t work too well.”
“Are you asking me to be your fuck buddy?”
“The word buddy implies that we’re friends, and we’re not. I still can’t stand you, Ariel.”
“Likewise.”
“But you’ve got a tight cunt that I wouldn’t mind fucking into again, so what do you say?”
“Harry, this is a five star restaurant. We can’t just fuck in the kitchen every time we get on each other’s nerves. That’s a major health code violation.”
“So we wait.” He shrugs. “We both have cars and houses. Lots of places to let out our frustrations.”
“I’ll think about it.”
“You do that.” He says, and stands up to leave.
“You didn’t tell anyone, did you?”
“Might have mentioned to my cat, but only because she was mad at me for getting home so late. I’m not one for bragging about intimate details.”
“Good.” She nods. “Thank you.”
Harry leaves her office and she sighs heavily. She wasn’t expecting the conversation to go that way at all. Ariel thought for sure Harry was going to say that it was a mistake and it never should have happened, but he didn’t. He wanted to fuck her s again, he said it himself. And he wasn’t wrong, the kitchen had been a much happier place to be over the last week. The only thing was, she didn’t know if she wanted to give into his request so easily. He was the one who admitted to wanting to do it again, not her. The ball was totally in her court! She also wasn’t too sure how smart it would be to start fucking her chef on the regular. It could do more harm than good.
//
“What do you mean you let a party of fifteen come in?!” Harry shouts at Ariel, who was now putting on an apron and gloves to help the cooks out.
“You heard me! We can either waste time arguing about it, or we can get to preparing their meals! It’s not you who’s gonna have to stay late, it’s me and my dining staff.”
“Why would you let a group of fifteen come in right before closing?!”
“Because they paid up front with cash for four bottles of $500 wine!”
“Holy shit.”
“Yeah, holy shit. They already gave us their order, so we just need to get everything out to them, and then everyone can clean up. Let’s move!”
Harry sighs heavily, but does as she says. He and Garrett get to work on the entrees while the cooks work with Ariel on the appetizers. She runs the food out so she can help out her dining staff that were trying to wrap up their sidework. Two hours after closing, the large party left, and luckily they left a huge tip. They apologized over and over again about coming in so late. Apparently they were in a production for something, and it closed so they wanted to celebrate. Ariel assured them it was fine. She sighs when she’s finally able to go back into her office. She still needed to go over all the receipts for the night.
“Need any help with that? I know your hostess usually gets this done with you…” Harry says as he walks into her office.
“No, thank you.” She says without looking at him. “You can go, I don’t need you to wait for me.”
“You’re such a hypocrite.” He shakes his head and sits down. “You tried to force yourself two weeks ago into helping me make some bread dough, and now here I am offering up some help and you won’t take it.”
“Guess the shoe’s on the other foot.” She still wouldn’t look at him, so he reaches forward to grab her chin, and turns her head in his direction.
“You’re, quite literally, the most annoying person I’ve ever met.”
“Yeah? Then why are you trying to fuck me right now?”
“Who said I was trying to do that?” He says, letting go of her and sitting back in the chair.
“Please, it’s so obvious.” She scoffs. “We’re the last two people here, you’re coming in here offering help. What’s wrong, hm? None of my waitresses wanted to suck you off?” She pouts at him, and his face hardens.
“I have never done anything like that with a member of the dining staff.”
“No? They sure talk about you like you have.”
“You sound a little jealous.” He smirks.
“Don’t flatter yourself.” She deadpans.
“You know, when my cooks make crude remarks about you, I tell them it’s wrong and to stop. Do you even try to defend me when you hear them talking out there?”
“Sure I do, I tell them that this neither the time nor the place for any of that, and that they should have more respect for you. One of the bartenders, Jess, she seems to have a thing for you. Her eyes are glued to you every time you come out into the dining room. Why not go be her fuck buddy?”
“Because I don’t want to fuck her.”
“And you want to fuck me?” He nods yes at her. “Why?”
“Because despite how much I can’t stand you, it was a good fuck and I’d like to do it again. This isn’t news, we’ve talked about this already.”
“I smell like food.” She mutters as she gets back to checking the receipts.
“So do I.”
“So, go home and shower and meet me at my place in a little while. I’ll text you when I’m ready.” She looks at him. “Go feed your cat or whatever, I’m sure she’s missing you.”
Harry tries his best to bite back the smug look that was growing on his face. Wordlessly, he stands up and leaves her office. Ariel shakes her head and continues with their work.
“Far too easy.” She says to herself with a smirk.
//
Harry didn’t end up at Ariel’s place until nearly midnight. It took her a while to finish things up at work, and then she wanted to shower so she didn’t smell like food anymore. Her rings her doorbell, and she opens it wearing the same robe she had been wearing the first time he showed up at her place, only this time she wasn’t wearing her cute little slippers, and her eyes weren’t puffy from crying. She doesn’t say anything to him, she just steps aside to let him in.
He doesn’t look around, he doesn’t compliment her place, all he does is kick his sneakers off, cup her jaw, and shove her up against the wall. His mouth crashes to hers, and she sinks into it. She almost wanted to sigh with relief. It was amazing how simply kissing someone could make you forget all your troubles. She tugs him closer to her, and his hands brush down her body to lift her up.
“Where do you want it?” He breathes as she wraps her limbs around him.
“Bedroom, upstairs.” She says before kissing on his neck.
He grunts as he finds his way to the staircase, and carries her up. Of course, he makes a few pit stops to kiss her, smoosh her up against the wall and lick into her mouth. When he finally does make it to her room, he practically tosses her on the bed. He starts to rid himself of his clothes while she sits and watches.
“Aren’t you going to take yours off?” He asks after getting his shirt off.
“M’only wearing this.” She shrugs. “Thought you might like to take it off yourself.”
“Stand up.” He tells her and she does so, walking over to him.
His hands reach for the tie on her robe, and he undoes it. He pushes it off her shoulders, and licks his lips when he sees her naked body, the robe pooling at her feet. He wraps his arms around her waist, and pulls her close so he can kiss on her chest. He licks between the valley of her breasts before pulling one of her nipples into his mouth with his teeth. He sucks on it harshly, eliciting a soft moan from her. He walks them back towards the bed, and he pushes her onto it. He climbs on top of her, and goes back to kissing on her chest. He works his way down her stomach, nipping where he pleases, before he’s able to lay comfortably between her legs.
“You…you don’t have to.” She says to him, and he looks up at with a confused look.
“I know I don’t, I want to. Didn’t get to do it last time.” He rubs circles into her thighs with his thumbs. “Do you not want me to?”
“No, I just…I don’t know, it’s sort of intimate for what this is.” She chews on her already swollen bottom lip. “You really want to?”
“Yes.”
“I don’t wanna suck your dick.”
“I didn’t ask you to.”
“Okay.” She takes a deep breath and opens her legs for him.
He uses his thumbs to open her folds up a little more so he could better see what he was working with. Ariel always hated this part when a guy would go down on her. She always felt like she was at the doctor’s office getting a checkup. She stopped feeling like that the second his tongue licked around her clit. She sits up on her elbows to watch him. He continues to lick around her clit, watching it get a little more swollen each time and then he sucks on it.
“Ah!” She gasps, reaching for his hair to tug on.
His fingers soon replace his tongue on her clit so he lick around where she’s wet for him. He moans into her after he finally gets a real taste. She smelled sort of like cocoa butter, he assumed she moisturized after her shower. For a woman that couldn’t stand him, she sure was considerate. He licks into her, and she squeaks out a noise that she had never heard come out of her own mouth. Ariel tries to wrack her brain, but she can’t seem to recall a time where a guy had ever actually licked into her before, teasing her in such a way with their tongue. Harry was licking and sucking on her while his fingers were working magic on her clit. She had tears in her eyes from how good it felt. Her thighs were squeezing against his head, and her heels were digging into his back, but he didn’t care. He was too caught up with fucking her with his tongue.
“Shit, I…fuck, Harry, I’m gonna come!” She warns him, and all he does his moan into her, encouraging her to do so.
She tugs on his hair a little harder as she cries out, back arching and head rolling back. He sits up and licks his lips. She was speechless, she had no words. He reaches into his back pocket to pull out a condom before standing up to get his pants off. His cock slaps back against his stomach once it’s free, and her eyes widen. His tip was already leaking.
“You got that turned on just from eating me out?” She wasn’t being condescending, in fact, her tone was full of shock.
“Yeah.” He says as he rolls the condom on. He knees back onto the bed, and shuffles to sit up against the headboard. “Since you’re not gonna suck me off, the least you could do is ride me for a bit.”
Her mouth falls open at that. She wasn’t quite sure how he expected her to have the energy to ride his dick after what he just did to her. She furrows her brows, and moves herself onto his lap. When they make eye contact, she realizes that she doesn’t want to look at him, so she turns herself around to ride him reverse. She guides him in, and sighs into her ear once he hits bottom. She takes a moment just to get reacquainted with him before she starts to swivel her hips in little circles. He gets an arm around her, securing it between her breasts, and gripping her shoulder to help keep her close and steady. He nibbles on her earlobe, and she whimpers. He carefully thrusts up into her as she grinds on him. She couldn’t believe the restraint he had. Most guys would thrust up too far when she was on top and it would hurt. But this…this felt heavenly. She almost hated him more because he was so good.
His mouth moves to the crook of her neck, sucking a bruise into her skin. Her head rolls back, and his other hand snakes around to rub at her clit. She picks up the pace, bouncing a little more on him. The way he was grunting and moaning was giving her goosebumps, which was an odd sensation to feel while her skin also felt extremely hot. His tip starts to hit her g-spot in just the right away, and she loses all control of the noises she’s letting out.
“That’s it.” He groans. “Come all over my cock.”
“Oh my god.” She mewls.
Her fingernails sink into the meat of his thighs as she cries out. She arches into him, and looks up at him, almost distressed, so he licks into her mouth. One of her arms hooks around his head to tug at his hair as she rides out her orgasm. She squeezes around him so tightly that after one more thrust he’s spilling into the condom. She lets her body go slack against him as they both catch their breaths. He sponges open mouth kisses to her neck and jaw before lifting her off of him. She whimpers from the abrupt change.
“Sorry.” He says. “Know that stings a little.”
“Yeah, just a little.” She swallows.
She watches him get off the bed and throw the condom away. He walks right into her bathroom, he didn’t even ask first, and she wasn’t sure why that annoyed her so much, but it did. When he comes out, he grabs his clothes to put back on. She goes to the bathroom next and puts her robe back on when she comes out. She walks him down the stairs and to the door.
“Well, uh, have a good night.” He says, running his hand through his hair.
“You too.” She opens the door for him, and he quickly steps out. She closes it and sighs, resting her forehead against it. She hated him, she really did.
//
A pattern had started between them. After hooking up, things were usually cool for about a week, until they’d eventually fight over something. The cooks almost wanted to set up a bingo card of things they fought over.
“Why can’t we offer lentil pasta instead of just gluten free?!” She yells one day.
“Because lentil pasta is more expensive than standard gluten free pasta!”
“You’re such a cheap prick!”
“I’m sorry, I’m trying to save this restaurant some money!”
“We can splurge on some different options! It’s what the people want!”
“Oh, did your bloody survey results tell you that!”
“Yes, as a matter of fact!” His eyes were full of rage. They were both in his office going over the order sheet.  “Why can’t we just order it, try it out, and see how many people order it? If it’s a flop then we don’t have to order it again!”
“Fine!” He throws the clipboard with the order sheet onto his desk. “You’re coming to my place tonight.” He says lowly.
“M’allergic to cats.”
“Take a decongestant then.” He brushes by her to open his door, and he slams it behind him, leaving her standing in there.
Despite her gut telling her not to go, she follows him to his house after work. They say nothing to each other as they walk in. Luna comes over to greet Harry, and he picks her up. Ariel grimaces at the cat.
“You seriously don’t think she’s cute?” Harry asks.
“I’m not a cat person, they’re no fun.”
“You just haven’t met the right cat, then.” He snuggles Luna to his cheek for a moment before setting her down. “My room’s this way.” He nods towards the hall on the right, and she follows him. He walks straight into his bathroom and turns the shower on.
“What are you doing?”
“We’re doing this in the shower, I smell like steak.” He says, already taking his clothes off. She crosses her arms and huffs. “What?”
“I don’t want to shower right now. Just rinse off quick.”
“Ariel, I wasn’t asking. Get your ass in the bathroom, now.”
“Who the fuck do you think you are? What do you think this is? You can’t just – mmph!”
He had yanked her into him, kissing her to shut her up. She doesn’t fight him on it at all, and he walks them both into the now steamy bathroom, kicking the door closed. They both work quickly to get the other naked before stepping into the warm water.
“You better have a fucking spare towel.” She mumbles against his lips.
“Obviously.” He bites her bottom lip and then steps back from her. He reaches to grab his body wash.
“You’re seriously taking a shower?”
“Yeah.” He says as he lathers his body up. “I was balls deep in au jus today.” He steps in the water to rinse himself off. “Much rather be balls deep in something else, though.” He tugs her to him, licking into her mouth, and reaching between her legs to rub at her folds. His middle finger slips inside her, and she gasps. “Always so ready for me.” He grunts, and backs her up against one of the tile walls. “Can I hit it raw?”
“Are you, um, are you clean?” She asks.
“Yeah, are you?”
“Yeah.”
He grins, and hooks one of his arms under one of her legs to lift it up enough for him to have the room to thrust up into her. She grips his shoulders as he rocks in and out of her. He slots his mouth over hers and they both moan. Her nails rake down his torso and she grabs onto his love handles for dear life as he pounds in and out of her.
“You really fucking pissed me off today.” She says to him. “It’s just pasta.”
“You like spending money left and right.” He grunts.
“If people like it, then it’ll bring in more business. It could pay for itself.”
“The more people that want it, the more we’ll have to, shit, buy.”
“I’m aware of how supply and demand works, you asshole.”
Harry growls at her and presses his other hand to her throat.
“Do us both a favor, and just shut the fuck up, yeah?”
She nods at him and he lets go of her throat, but she pulls his hand back to keep it there. He groans because, quite frankly, it was one of the hottest things he had ever seen someone do. He wasn’t going to last very long, and he had no way of rubbing her clit.
“Touch yourself, rub your clit.” He says into her ear, his breath hot on her.
She snakes a hand between the two of them, and she whimpers when she touches her throbbing clit. She presses on it and rubs circles into the little bud.
“Ah, oh fuck.” She starts panting. “Just like that, Harry, shit.” She wanted to cry she was so close. She bites down on his shoulder as she comes to her release. She didn’t want her noises to scare his cat.
He pulls out of her quickly and comes on her stomach. He steps away from her and grabs his shampoo. She stands there awkwardly while he scrubs his head.
“You can use my body wash if you want.” He says, nodding to it. Ariel doesn’t say anything. She starts to tear up. “Hey, whoa, are you alright?”
“I…um…” She blinks a few times, but can’t really form a sentence.
He’s not sure what’s going on, but it he takes it upon himself to guide her back into the water to rinse her off. He gets his body wash on a spare cloth to wash her with, and then he turns the water off. He grabs a towel to wrap around her, and then gets one around himself. He picks her up and sits her on the sink counter to get a better looks at her.
“Talk to me, what happened?”
“I’ve never, um, let someone, uh…choke me before.” She looks up at him, and he sighs.
“Did I hurt you?” He asks softly.
“No.” She shakes her head. “Just felt a little…floaty for a second, like, lightheaded.” She swallows. “M’fine, I think it was just the steam. I have asthma and it can act up after a particularly hot shower.”
“If I had known I wouldn’t have-“
“I put your hand back on me, it’s okay.” She takes a deep breath and hops off your counter.
“Do you…wanna just crash here?”
“No.” She laughs. “Not at all.”
“You can’t drive if you’re all lightheaded.”
“I’m fine now.” She says as she puts her clothes back on. “I need to get going, I have a busy day tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow’s your day off.”
“Yeah, and I have things to do.” She leaves his bathroom, and he follows her out to his front door.
“Just…could you at least text me when you get home?”
“Sure.” She nods. “Bye.”
“Bye.”
She’s out the door in a flash. Harry didn’t quite understand why things were always so awkward with them afterwards. It was like neither of them ever knew what to say because they just didn’t really know how to be soft with one another. Harry scoops up Luna and brings her to bed with him. About twenty minutes later his phone buzzes.
Ariel Bardin: I’m home
Harry Styles: thanks for letting me know, you made me nervous for a second there
Ariel Bardin: I’m fine, you can go back to not giving a fuck now
Harry Styles: will do, goodnight!
Every time he was nice to her, she had to reject it. He hated her, he really did.
//
“You’re really liking it, you’re not just saying that?” Ariel’s father, Frank, says to her.
“Yes, Papa, I swear.” She smiles. “It’s better than I thought.”
“Good.” He sips on some lemonade. “You look awfully tired.”
“It was a long night.” She shrugs.
“How are things going with the head chef, Harry is it?”
“Yeah, um, I mean, we butt heads from time to time, but it’s fine.”
“It wouldn’t be a normal kitchen if the manager and chef didn’t butt heads.” He chuckles. “I used to fight with the chef all the time.”
“Papa…Uncle Matthew was the head chef when you were there.”
“Don’t I know it. We fought constantly, stubborn old bastard.” He shakes his head. “We still argue about recipes to this day.” He laughs. “Tell me, are you still planning to do the staff appreciation shindig at the end of the summer?”
“Course I am. Hotel’s booked and everything. It’s going to be a fabulous evening.” Ariel smiles. “The dining staff are really excited.”
“Good, good.” He nods. “Do you think you’ll bring a date?”
“Papa.” She groans. “I’d have to be seeing someone in order to bring a date.”
“You work too much, you don’t make time for yourself. Your mother and I were married with a kid by the time we were your age, you know?”
“Yeah, I’m the kid.” Ariel laughs. “I just have other priorities right now.”
“There’s really no one you’re talking to? No one that you like?”
“No.” She takes a sip of her own lemonade. “Don’t worry about me so much, I’m perfectly content, alright?”
“Okay, okay.” He raises his hands in defense. “I won’t ever stop worrying about you, though, that’s the curse of being a parent. At least let me pay for a new dress for the party, hm?”
“You know your money’s no good. I’ll send you pictures, though.”
“Please do, you always look so pretty when you get all dressed up. Spitting image of Mama.” He smiles.
“Thanks, Papa.” She gives his hand a squeeze. “Maybe, um, when I feel like I can take a vacation we can go to France? We haven’t been in so long, and I think it would be good to see our cousins.”
“If you plan the whole thing, sure.” He shrugs. “I think it would be a blast.”
//
Ariel was feeling a little nervous for the staff party. Not only was the restaurant closed for the weekend, but her staff had never seen her in a dress before. She was second guessing everything. Her hair was down and wavy, and she had on this gorgeous navy blue, lace mini dress paired with white heels. When she walked down the hall to the elevators she heard someone suck their teeth. She turns to see it’s Harry.
“Oh, hi.” She blushes.
“Hi.” He looks her up and down. “You look nice.”
“Thank you, so do you.” She swallows and steps inside the elevator once the doors open. Harry steps inside as well, and presses the button for the floor they need to get to with the small ballroom. “Should be a fun night, huh?”
“I’m hoping so.”
“It’s usually a good time.”
“I remember coming with my parents when I was little, it was great. They let me drink all the Shirley Temples I could stomach.”
Harry chuckles slightly at that. In that moment she wasn’t sure if she had ever genuinely made him laugh before. They had hooked up a few more times since the night in his shower. It was always the same, hot and heavy, and then awkward when they were done.
“Wait until you see Garrett on the dancefloor after a few drinks, he can breakdance.”
“No shit, really? I’ll have to keep an eye out.” The elevator dings and they both get off and head towards the ballroom. They both could hear the music the DJ was playing. “Well, have a good time tonight.” Ariel makes her way over to some of the dining staff members that were closer to her age. She had become friendly with a few of them.
Harry migrates over to where his staff was, and buys them all a round of drinks. Ariel stayed nursing on the same vodka-tonic for a bit. She didn’t want to get trashed. She was talking with a couple of the hostesses, having a good time.
“Alright, ladies, I’ve had a couple of drinks, I’m gonna go talk to Harry.” Erica says to them. “My mistake last year was waiting until the end of the night to talk to him. I’m starting earlier this year.”
“And what’s the end goal here, exactly?” Ariel smirks.
“To see what his hotel room looks like, of course.” Erica winks and walks over to where Harry was. “Evening, Chef.” She smiles.
“Hi, uh…”
“Erica.”
“Erica! Right, I knew that. You still working behind the bar?”
“I hostess too.” She smiles.
“Good for you.”
“Are you having a good time?”
“I am.” He nods, and sips from his drink. His eyes flash to Ariel and then back to Erica. “Are you?”
“Yeah. Must be nice that you have the whole weekend off for a change.”
“It’s definitely a nice break.” He smiles, and looks at Ariel again. “Could you excuse me for a moment? I just remembered something I needed to tell Ariel, and I don’t wanna forget again.”
“Oh, um, sure.”
Harry walks away from Erica, and she pouts.
“Don’t take it personally.” Garrett says to her. “Personally, I think he has a thing for Ari, but I have very little proof.”
“Are you kidding? They can’t stand each other.”
“Maybe so.” Garrett shrugs.
Harry makes his way over to Ariel, and clears his throat to get her attention.
“Yes?” She asks, eyebrows raised.
“Come dance with me.”
“Very funny.” She scoffs.
“M’serious. I think it would be good if everyone saw us palling around. Show them the squabbles we have are purely work related.”
“Harry, I have a feeling I’d hate your guts no matter the setting.”
“Just humor me, will you?” He says, visibly annoyed.
“Fine.” She rolls her eyes, and finishes her drinks before following him to the dance floor. A slower song was playing, so she figured it wouldn’t kill her to dance with him.
Once they’re on the dancefloor, his hands go on her waist, and she puts her hands on his shoulders. They sway back and forth for a bit, and it just feels awkward…
“This is weird.” She giggles, and he can’t help but laugh too.
“Why is that the only things we’re good at doing with each other is fighting and fucking?” He smirks.
“Been wondering the same thing myself.” She smirks back at him. “Things would be so much easier if you didn’t question every little thing I wanted to do.”
“Someone’s gotta play Devil’s advocate.”
“You’re not the advocate, you’re the Devil himself.” She rolls her eyes, and it makes him laugh.
“I happen to be a very nice person, you just tend to bring out the worst in me.”
“I suppose a guy who named his cat Luna has to have a soft side.”
“Oi, leave her out of this.” He pouts at her. “You’ve warmed up to her.”
“She’s alright.” Ariel shrugs.
“Those are, uh, really beautiful earrings you’re wearing.” He blushes slightly.
“Oh! Thanks, they were my mother’s. She left me all her good stuff.”
“You must miss her a lot.”
“Yeah.” Ariel sighs. “But it’s nice having these little pieces of her.”
“You know, I’ve never asked, can you speak French fluently, like, are you bilingual?”
“Je ne sais pas, dites-moi.” I don't know, you tell me. She grins at him.
“Okay, I know you said I don’t know…something…me…” He narrows his eyes in thought.
“Dites is tell, it’s the past tense of ditre, which is say.”
“Ah, right, it’s been a while since I conjugated a French verb.” He chuckles. “Remind me, how do you say fuck in French?”
“Merde.”
“I thought that was shit.”
“It works for both.” Ariel shrugs. “There are a lot of variations and translations, like, if I wanted to say I want to fuck you, I’d say Je veux te baiser, but baiser translates to kiss.”
“French is so confusing.” Harry shakes his head. “But it sounds nice while you’re speaking it.” The song ends and she tries to step back from him, but he keeps his grip on her waist. He leans in to whisper in her ear, “Tu veux coucher avec moi ce soir?” Do you want to sleep with me tonight?
“You could have at least used the formal voulez-vous.” She sighs.
“Just answer the question.” He rolls his eyes.
“Oui.” She nods. “But I wanna do it in my room so I can hang my dress up. I don’t want it getting wrinkled.”
“Do you wanna head up now? Think I’m done hanging out with everyone else.”
“Yeah, let’s go. Uh…go ahead of me, I’ll meet you at the elevator.”
Harry nods and makes his way off the dancefloor. Ariel counts to ten Mississippi before making her way out. Harry was leaning up against the wall waiting for her. The elevator dings and they both head inside. Before she knows it, she’s being shoved against the wall, and Harrys tongue is down her throat. She wraps her arms around his neck, and she groans when he presses himself against her hip. When the elevator dings on their floor, he steps back from her, and they both quickly walk to her room. The second she’s inside, she kicks her heels off, and jumps up for Harry. He carries her over to the bed, and they both fall onto it. They’re both being sloppy with their kisses, but neither cares. The need to be close is overpowering. She starts unbuttoning his shirt while his lips stay on hers. She imagines they’ll still be red and puffy by morning.
He flips them both over so he’s on his back, and she grinds herself against his growing erection. He grips her hips and helps her rock back and forth. She kisses on his neck, and sucks on the area just below his ear. His hands squeeze and knead her ass as a bruise starts to form where her lips are.
“Fuck, need you naked.” He grunts, sitting up to tug on the hem of her dress.
“Hold on, you’re gonna rip it! There’s a fucking zipper on the back.” She huffs.
In the next second, he’s shoving her down onto her stomach so he can undo the zipper of her dress. He pulls her up by the hips so she can free her arms, and then she’s being moved into her back so he can get it the rest of the way off.
“Take your underwear off.” He says as he undoes his pants.
“No.” She smirks at him.
“What do you mean ‘no’?”
“You do it.”
“Ariel.” He says firmly. “Have you not learned how this works by now?” He moves to hover over her, kissing her slowly. “I talk, and you listen.” She shakes her head no, and his eyebrows raise.
“What makes you think you’re always in charge, hm? I let you do all of these things, you know?” Her smiles grows wider. She pecks his lips before speaking again. “Now, tell me you hate me and take my bra off.”
He sits back, and yanks her into his lap. He works to undo her bra, and tosses it across the room. He kisses on her chest, and sucks on the plushier areas before taking a nipple into his mouth. He pops off with a smirk.
“I don’t just hate you, Ariel, I absolutely loathe you.” He pushes her down onto her back and yanks her underwear off. He finishes taking his own clothes off, and he reaches for a condom, but she grabs his wrist. She shakes her head no. “You sure?” She nods her head yes, and he moves back over her.
He kisses on her neck while one of his hands roams down her body and between her legs. He slides two fingers inside her, and she moans softly. He pumps them in and out slowly before curling them up inside her, and rubbing his thumb on her clit. She grips at the comforter on the bed.
“Like that?” He says into her ear.
“Yes, fuck.” She bucks her hips up to grind against his fingers easier. He pulls them out and she whines.
“Would you relax, I was just gonna flip you over.”
“Oh.” She blushes and rolls onto her stomach. Harry yanks to her to her knees, and slides his fingers back in. Ariel sighs with relief.
“There we go.” He rubs his other hand up her back, and scratches back down before giving her ass a smack. He squeezes the supple flesh and leaves his hand there as he continues to work his fingers in and out of her.
“Oh, oh! Right there!” She gasps and starts rubbing her clit.
“M’I hitting it?” He grunts.
“Y-yeah, you’re right on it, don’t stop, please!”
She can hear him grunting and groaning behind her. He got so much pleasure making sure she got off, it astounded her. She cries out as she comes around his fingers, and he pulls them out slowly. He rubs her back as she catches her breath, and he sucks her slick off his fingers.
“Good?” He asks.
“Yeah, thanks.” She turns onto her side. “Wanna hit it from the side?” She wiggles her eyebrows at him, and he chuckles.
“Sure, if that’s how you want it.”
“It is…for now.”
He gets into position, and gets one of her legs over his shoulder. He pushes inside and watch as her mouth falls open. That was always his favorite part. She’d had him so many times at this point, and she still seemed so shocked at how he stretched her out. He rocks in and out of her slowly before really getting a groove going.
“H-Harry?”
“Yeah?”
“Could you like, go behind me, like, we’re both on our sides? Do you know what I mean?”
He nods and pulls out of her so he can lay down behind her on his side. He lifts one of her legs a little so he can slide back inside of her. She hooks one of her arms around his head so she can get her fingers in his hair, and he kisses on her shoulder while his hand presses on her lower tummy. They were grinding against each other in the most perfect way. His fingers start to work her clit and she whines.
“Sensitive?” He asks her.
“Mhm.”
“Fight through it, know you can come again.”
“Need something to bite on.” She pants.
He gets his other arm around her neck so he can get his fingers in his mouth. She moans around them, and her eyes roll back.
“M’not gonna last, Ariel.” He rubs her clit harder, and she just moans louder around his fingers. “I’m gonna have to pull out soon.”
“No! Come inside me!” She shouts around his fingers.
“Fuck!” He cries out as he comes inside her. It pushes her over the edge, and she comes with him, milking him for everything he’s got. She kisses the palm of his hand before he pulls out of her.
“Could you, uh, bring me to the bathroom?” She asks, looking over her shoulder. “I don’t wanna sleep on sticky sheets.”
“Yeah.” He breathes, and scoops her up, bringing her into the bathroom. He sits her down on the toilet, and leaves to give her some privacy. When she comes out, he’s laying in his boxers on the bed.
“What are you doing?” She asks, going to her suitcase to look for her nightshirt.
“Figured we could fuck again in a bit, it’s not like we have to worry about getting up early, right?” He says, not looking up from his phone. “Or did I tucker you out.”
“No, um, we could…we could do it again in a little while.” She knees onto the bed and lays down. “I just need some time to cool down.”
“Yeah, no worries.”
“Harry?” She asks, turning on her side to face him.
“Hm?”
“Do you really loathe me?”
He looks up from his phone at that and turns on his side to face her.
“No…just sort of said it to keep us in the mood.”
“Do you think, like, we keep fighting as an excuse to fuck?”
“No, I mean, I genuinely can’t fucking stand you sometimes and doing this helps.”
“But what happens when one of us meets someone and we can’t just fuck it out?”
“Oh, please.” He scoffs. “Do you have time to meet someone else?”
“No, I’m just saying-“
“Besides that, who’s gonna fuck you better than me? Gimme a break, Ariel.” He laughs and rolls onto his back again, going back to his phone.
“Harry…eventually I’m going to want more than just fucking someone on the down low. I want certain things.”
“Yeah? So do I. You act like I’m going somewhere.”
“I’m…very confused right now.”
“Come here.” He pats his thighs and she shifts to straddle him. He tucks her hair behind her ears, and then pulls her down to kiss him. “You really think I’d like you run off to be with someone else? If that’s what you think, then you’re even crazier than I thought.”
“Harry, you don’t want me, stop messing around.”
“I’m being completely serious. I’ll get you the big house, the white picket fence, we’ll fill it with babies, and then they’ll have a romantic story to think about just like you did with your parents.” He kisses her again. “What’s cuter than mum and dad meeting in the kitchen at work, right? We can leave out the rest.”
“What makes you think that I…that I want any of that with you?” She was trembling.
“Because you wouldn’t have fucked me a second time if you didn’t like me, Ariel.”
“Harry, stop it, you’re gonna make me cry.” Her bottom lip quivers. “This isn’t funny.”
“I know it’s not, I’m not joking around.”
“But I don’t want us…I don’t want us to always be at each other’s throats. I don’t want that to be the only reason there’s a passion between us.”
He caresses her cheek and rub away a stray tear.
“It won’t be like that. I mean, I certainly know how to make you shut the fuck up, but I think we really have this weird connection. Things always get so awkward after we hook up because I think we’re both sort of soft people, and we don’t know if it’s okay to be soft with one another, but…I wanna be soft with you, I think. I want to sleep over, and cuddle, and all that other shit.” She blinks at him. “Do you want all of that…with me?” She nods yes at him. “Alright then, quit your blubbering and come here.” He tugs her down to him all the way so he can hold her properly. “Je t’aime.” He says softly as he strokes her hair.
“Je t’aime aussi.” I love you too.

“Y/N, listen…” Will spoke, causing you to turn to look at him.
You sighed. “Guys, you’re overreacting.”
Will threw a glance at Jay, which you caught. “Y/N, we’re concerned.” Jay stressed.
You shook your head, smiling. “I’m fine.”
“You’ve stopped seeing your friends, haven’t you?” Will asked, a little accusingly. You swallowed, “I’ve been busy.”
“You mean Mark’s been keeping you busy.” Will shot back.
You didn’t answer him. Maybe there was a part of you that knew that your brothers were right, but you loved Mark and you didn’t see why it was wrong that the two of you just wanted to spend time with just each other.
“I’m here, aren’t I?” You snapped.
Jay rolled his eyes. “Only because Mark probably knows we’d have more than a thing or two to say otherwise.” He muttered to Will.
“I heard that.” You glared at Jay.
Jay sighed, “Look, can you just hear me… hear us out?”
You hesitated, you knew what they were going to say and you weren’t exactly sure you wanted to hear it. You crossed your arms in front of you. “Hit me.”
“You’ve stopped meeting your friends, you go with his moods and decisions almost all the time, we’ve barely seen you and that’s saying something.” Jay said, glancing at you, trying to read your reaction. “You’re not supposed to be tiptoeing around him all the time.”
Will sighed, “You’ve always been strong and independent, how is it that you’re letting him make all these decisions for you now?”
You sighed. “I appreciate you guys looking out for me, but I’m an adult, I know what I’m doing.”
Will looked like he was about to argue but Jay tugged his arm and shook his head. “Just promise me one thing.”
You looked up.
“Don’t shut us out.” Jay said, a look of genuine concern passing his face.
You smiled. “I would never.”
---
So you had said. But it had been at least three weeks since your brothers had last seen you, which was unusual.
The three of you had been thick as thieves since you were young, almost joined at the hip. Everyone thought the three of you would grow out of it but you didn’t. The longest you’d been apart was when Jay had enlisted but he had come right back and it was as if he had never left.
Even when you all had crazy schedules, you saw each other almost every other day.
Until now.
Jay sighed, as he took out a can of beer from his fridge and glanced at his phone. He was worried about you but apart from repeating everything he had said before, he was out of options.
A couple of raps on the door made Jay look up, glancing at the clock automatically, wondering who it was.
He swung open the door and froze at the sight in front of him.
“Jay…”
Your face was tear-streaked, your voice shook a little and he could tell you’d been crying. “Y/N? What’s going on?”
You looked down again but Jay ushered you in. “Hey, come here kid.”
Jay pulled you closer to him, wrapping his arms around you in that protective way he used to back when you were young and you had had a nightmare. “It’s okay, it’s okay.”
“I’m sorry, Jay. I’m sorry.” You sobbed but Jay just held you tighter as the both of you stood in the doorway, until your sobs slowly died down and you were breathing evenly.
Jay quietly led you further into his apartment, navigating around the coffee table and to the couch. “I’ll be right back.”
Jay glanced at you sitting on the couch and felt a wave of rage. If he could, he’d drag Mark’s ass here and pound on him. Instead, he took a deep breath, grabbed his phone and dialed Will’s number.
“My place. Now. It’s Y/N.” Jay said, the moment Will answered the phone.
“On my way.” Will responded, without a beat of hesitation.
---
Will had practically flown here, flying past Jay the moment the door was open and heading straight for you on the couch.
“You okay?”
You didn’t respond but Will pulled you into a hug anyway, as Jay sat back down next to you.
“I’m sorry.” You said, the guilt once again rising up inside of you. You saw Will furrow his brow slightly. “What?”
“I said I wouldn’t shut you out. I promised... and I just… I…” You wrung your hands together.
Jay shook his head. “Y/N, we’re not mad.” You raised your head to look at him. “What happened?”
You paused, looking at your brothers. You didn’t know how you deserved them at all.
“You were right. I should have listened to you.” You whispered, tears pooling in your eyes again. You had been so convinced that Mark was the best thing that had happened to you. You had been so head over heels in love with him that you hadn’t been able to see him for who he really was – a manipulator.
Your brothers had been right. He’d cut you off from all your friends by saying that he just wanted to spend as much time alone with you as possible. He’d slowly even cut you off from your brothers, saying that they had it out for him and that maybe the both of you could benefit from some distance from them – and when you had disagreed, Mark had started to use other tactics. You couldn’t believe you had allowed yourself to be sucked in like this.
You made all your decisions around Mark, letting him tell you what jobs you should take, which restaurants you should go to, even which bars you should or shouldn’t go to. You had put him at the very center of your life and after all that, he had cheated. He had brought another woman to the fancy places he wouldn’t take you to, bought things for her that he would never have bought for you.
You could still see it, how he had his arm draped over her shoulder, walking out of that fancy restaurant – the one you wanted to try but he had said no and you had dropped it. But there he had had been with another woman.
“I can’t believe I’ve been so stupid.” You muttered, as you finished telling your brothers everything.
“Hey, look at me.” Jay said, his voice stern.
You pulled your hands away from your face and looked at Jay. “You are not stupid.” Jay said.
Will continued, “None of this is your fault, do you hear me?”
You looked from Jay to Will. “I’m sorry.” You said again. What made you feel worse was actually having allowed Mark to get between you and your brothers. Your brothers who loved you and cared about you more than anything in the world, your brothers who always put your needs above theirs. For the life of you, you had no idea why you had fallen in love with a man who was everything your brothers were not.
Instead of trying to convince you otherwise, your brothers moved at the same time, crushing you in between them.
The bear hug.
The hug that made you feel safe and protected.
“I should have listened to you. I always listen to you. Why didn’t I…” You sobbed against Will’s shoulder.
Will just patted your back gently. “Hey, we all go through this. Jay and I, too.”
You shook your head. “Not like this.” You said, “You’ve never done this.”
Jay squeezed your shoulder from where his hand was around you. “You believe in people, and that’s a good thing. That’s why people love you.”
“I hate it.” You muttered.
“We don’t.” Will said, pulling away slightly so that you could see his face. “It’s what makes you, you. And if someone can’t appreciate that, he doesn’t deserve you. Never have, never will.”
Jay put his hand on your head affectionately. “And if you need me to pound him into the ground…”
You finally cracked a smile.
“Can I stay here tonight?” You asked, looking up at Jay. “I just… don’t really want to be alone.”
He smiled at you. “As long as you want, kid.”
---
It had been a week since I had landed in front of Jay’s apartment. Will and Jay had made every effort to take you out, your favourite foods, drinks, to keep you as distracted as possible and to say you were thankful wasn’t even enough to cover it.
“What did I do to deserve being your sister?” You asked absentmindedly.
Will slid a drink to you. “You got that upside down.”
Jay grinned, “I’ll drink to that.”
You smiled, shaking your head but clinked your bottle with theirs.
“Jay.” Will said, motioning towards the door of Molly’s which swung open.
Jay turned from where he was seated next to you and the growl that escaped his lips made you turn as well.
You couldn’t believe Mark would just waltz in here, to Molly’s, after what he did, knowing that this was where you and your brothers always were. He knew.
You turned your eyes away and looked straight back at Will before you heard Jay’s chair drag back.
“Jay!” You hissed, but Jay was already halfway towards him.
Jay marched straight up to him, snarling, “How dare you show your face around here.”
You ran right up to Jay, grabbing his arm. “Jay, don’t. You’re police.” You whispered.
Mark let out a grin. “Yes, a police officer can’t go around hitting people, can they? Hey Y/N.” He even greeted you as if nothing had happened.
You tugged Jay backwards as Will swung, catching him off guard with a punch.
“Will!” You yelled, as Kevin and Kelly moved forward automatically to put themselves in between Will and Mark.
“Don’t you dare show your face around here.” Will snarled.
Mark shrugged, an annoying smile still lingering on his face. “Well, sadly you can’t ban me from a business that isn’t yours.”
You heard a loud bang as Herrmann stepped out from behind the bar. “Get out of my bar.”
You watched as Mark’s eyes widened a little in surprise but he turned to leave. You sent a grateful smile to Herrmann and all the rest around you, the friends you had thanks to your brothers. “You’re family.” Herrmann said.
You turned back to your brothers, throwing a glance at Will.
“Told you we have your back.” Will said. He looked as if he was about to apologize but you interrupted him.
“Thanks.”
Your brothers’ heads snapped up. “Thanks for having my back.”
“Always.” They responded unanimously, as the three of you headed back to your table. You smiled as you watched them lead the way back, knowing that you were going to be just fine.

BNHA boys after passing No-Nut-November
Yeah. It’s what it sounds like. Prepare to have your backs blown out folks 😌🤚
Characters: deku, denki, Kirishima, Aizawa, Hawks, Mirio
All characters are 18+
Warnings: Cockwarming, Overstimulation, rough sex, phone sex
Deku ~ Izuku Midoriya
Tumblr media
Dude was literally DYING all of November
Because now that he has a girlfriend why wouldn’t he have sex??
But you seemed excited and suspicious of his ability to do it, so— like a true hero— he took on the challenge
He didn’t realize how used to sex he already was, and he sometimes woke up to himself humping a pillow in his sleep (but shh he didn’t tell you about that)
The two of you were texting during the night of November 30
And you could feel the desperation in his texts
Seeing the minutes tick by... 12:30... 12:45... 12:5
It was maddening
He didn’t want to come on too strong, so he decided that he would rather FaceTime you, because he though it would be less awkward (and there aren’t receipts if you say no)
But you were one step ahead of him
You had your alarm set to go off at 12:00 AM December 1st
He was startled when the annoying chime blasted out of your phone, stuttering on what he was saying
So you cut him off, turning your screen to show the time and asking “hey baby, do you want to come over?”
This mans eyes SPARKLED LIKE A KID ISTG
He didn’t even reply. You just saw a shaky view of his room and the sound of shuffling clothes and shoes, then the click of a door lock
He showed up at your door a few minutes later, after having hung up without another word on his way there
You opened the door and there were lips on yours, strong arms gripping your waist
Then groping your tits and ass
He never goes insanely hard
But that was the roughest sex you two had ever had
It honestly made not being able to have sex with him worth it for the absolute monstrous fuck you guys had
And it was a LONG session
You thought about calling in sick from work to stay with him and see if you could make your torn-apart body go for another round
Denki Kaminari
Tumblr media
He gets zappy when he’s horny (like— literal electricity)
And he’s horny a lot because you refuse to let him have sec with you, and even worse— he can’t even Jack off to the thought of you
He tried to get away with it a few times only for you to feel the change of static in the air and come to his bedroom
He DEFINITELY would not have made it through if you hadn’t held him accountable the whole time
And even though at those times you were helping, you weren’t making it easy for him otherwise
You’d wear the short skirts that he liked and purposefully bend over to grab things from the floor, flashing yourself to him
It was funny to see how red he got and then how hard he got— smirking when you caught a glimpse at the tent in his trousers
So on November 30, he had it all planned out
He picked out an outfit for you, and set up his room all elegant
And he asked you to come over to spend the night
You were excited
It’s not like the two of always had sex impromtu, but there was never this level of preparation
You came in around 11 for a late-late night dinner (because what’s a sleep schedule— neither of you knew, that was for sure) of boxed macaroni
His lack of cooking ability was endearing
After dinner, he handed you a bag to go change into
It had thigh high socks, thigh harnesses, and a black and gold lingerie set
You looked hot— you couldn’t lie
When you came out you saw that the clock read 11:57
And Denki turned around, turning a bright crimson
You teased him “you picked this out, silly, why are you getting so flustered?”
He pulled you down to straddle despite how red he got
The two of you kissed until the clock hit 12
And it wasn’t like the two of you hadn’t kissed all month, but it felt special when you’d be intimate for the first time in a while
He brought you to the bedroom and the two of you spent a whole 3 minutes being romantic before both of you were ravaging each other
It was hard to tell who missed sex more between the two of you
But you were both relieved it was over
Red Riot ~ Eijiro Kirishima
Tumblr media
During all of November, he decided that whenever he was missing your body, he would train
And he did OH HOW he did
He was big and strong and he’d taken on extra hours to work on his hardening quirk, and had shown a lot of improvement
You suddenly had to cope with the fact that your boyfriend got EVEN HOTTER, and you weren’t having sex with him
You even gave in a few times, begging him to fuck you, but every time he denied, “that’s not very manly of me to fail the challenge” he would explain and then head out to the gym
It’s fair to say that it sucked for you
So when November was ending, you made a plan
He worked long hours at his agency, so he wouldn’t be back until it was almost 12, which (you being the night owl you are) has never been a problem
But it was today
So, here you are at his agency, rapping on his office door during his lunch break
He hugged you and pulled you inside of his office like he’s done every day you showed up at his office since you started dating
But you were horny and so was he and the tension was high between the two of you
No one wanted to make the first move, because that would be admitting defeat
So you walked to the side of his desk, his eyes following your ass, and bend down to grab his lunch from the left drawer
You hiked your skirt up enough so that he could see a flash of your panties
You weren’t going to make this last day easy on him, but you weren’t trying to make him lose either
But he was on you after that
Hands on your hips, cock pressed against your clothed ass
And you were so in
You both lost your stubbornness quickly when the lust grew too hard to handle
So you let him pull your panties to the side and start thrusting
God you missed this
And he was so much stronger now
You let out moans as he co tinued, not caring if anyone out in their cubicles heard
You were Red Riot’s and he was yours
You both came, multiple times
And when he relaxed back on his desk chair which you collapsed on his chest
You decided to make the final blow
“You realize you lost, right babe?”
And deep red eyes met yours with a seriousness rivaling that of some prestigious heroes (which was hardly eijiro— everyone loved him as a refreshing kind savior rather than the usual aloofness of heroes)
“I could keep going if you want to be a brat.”
Eraser Head ~ Shota Aizawa
Tumblr media
He’s not a very sex-motivated guy
But he definitely liked it every once in a while— especially with you
His baby girl struggling to take him, writhing in pleasure, cumming 2,3,4 times
He loves it
And he decides that he’ll still get to see his baby get pleasure, and just not get any of his own
So most of the month, if you were in the same room as him, you had a vibrator buried deep in your cunt
It didn’t feel the same as him feeling you up, but it was hard to sit still or focus when he was indirectly doing such lewd things to you
So November was long for you
And not in a bad way, but you were ready for it to be over, and you could tell he was, too
He was near his wits end from not getting to unload into his little girl, and it reflected on his teaching
You wondered if his students could tell he was lashing out because of sexual frustration
The thought made you laugh
So he cancelled or denied any plans anyone made that night, and so did you
You spent the afternoon together, watching tv mindlessly as you sat on his cock
That was something you two had done a lot more— cockwarming
It was nice to be so close to him
And he argued that the challenge was that he couldn’t cum, not that he couldn’t have his dick in you
So you agreed
And now it was nearing time, and he started slowly thrusting into you, both of your heads turned to the clock as you counted down the seconds until you could both cum
And when the clock finally shone 12:00, it was over for you
Brutal thrusts from underneath you left you with a cream-filled pussy, and then again on your hands and knees against the couch, and on the kitchen counter, and the bed
He had to make up for all the time he wasn’t able to pleasure you himself
So you let yourself be completely destroyed by his cock multiple times
Your legs were t even working past your 3rd orgasm, so he’d just carry you to his new destination
Hawks ~ Takami Keigo
Tumblr media
He loved you, but this was not a hard challenge for him
He hadn’t got laid for most of his teenage years
And the two of you did it only on occasion before you teased the idea and he said that he didn’t think you could do it— not have sex with him
So it was more like no-nut-November for you
But you wouldn’t let his teasing be confirmed
So you stood your ground
The two of you made it through the first week with fire in your eyes— encouraged by the want to win against the other
Even the second week was fine
Then you walked in on him fapping like a teenager in your bedroom, surrounded by a few of your sentimental stuffed animals from when you were a kid and a pair of dirty panties
You didn’t intrude
You just let him
And your fingers made their way to the waistband of your panties
You were egged on by his moans seeping through the wall and to your ears
Gorgeous, erotic, and effortless moans that could make you cum without touching yourself at all
But here you are, rubbing your clit and dipping your fingers into your puffy cunt as he jerked himself off on your bed
The two of you never mentioned this
Neither of you were going to admit that that could t even last 3 weeks
You weren’t even sure he saw you, but you sure saw him
And it didn’t happen again, as much as you wanted it to
The sex wasn’t life changing when he could do it again
The real reason you two were together was because you love the other, and that didn’t go away just because you couldn’t fuck
So the two of you were solidified in the shared opinion that you would be happy no matter what happens
And you spend the night bare against his chest, wings brought around your body in a protective shield
Togata Mirio
Tumblr media
He made it through the month just fine, usually too busy training and working to have time for you two to have sex
Instead the two of you work together and cuddle at night
And it’s satisfying, but it’s not mind-blowing for either of you
You’d much rather be able to have sex when he has an off night
He actually has a business trip spanning from November 27-December 3, which was a painfully long time for you
You had gotten your hopes up to be able to be destroyed by him
Instead you two FaceTime every night
And he’s too shy to mention it, but once November has passed, he’s aching to get back to you
Aching to get his cock back buried deep in you
You start touching yourself on FaceTime the night before his flight back
He didn’t notice at first
But he saw your arm flexing as you rubbed tight circles on your clit while listening to his voice
“Whatcha doing there sweetie?”
He asked it all innocent but you know better
You slide the phone down to show your pussy dripping with need
You hear him mutter a soft “fuck” before you hear the sound of unzipping and clothing falling to the ground, keeping yourself in view for him while he shows his equally needy cock on the camera
It’s blushing red on the top, so ready for you you wish you had a teleportation quirk
But the two of you were relieved to be doing just this after so long
And after you both came on your fingers, he promised he would give it to you so good when he got back
And he did not disappoint

Prisoner's Game Pt. 2 (Rowaelin)
Tumblr media
Part 1
~Rowan~
Rowan didn't think he'd ever been so pissed off in his life.
The only time that even came close was when he lost his first and only court case, but over the years he'd come to live with that.
This though?
This immature, childish, irritatingly clever woman... he had a feeling he'd carry the rage he felt against her until the day he finally died of it.
Although, if he was honest, his returning move had been a little childish, too.
He'd ordered one of the guards to strip her cell of everything except the chess set. Her mattress, the makeshift knife he shuddered to think she'd had in the same room as him, her pillow.
If she wanted to steal his shit, he'd steal hers, too.
He'd also had the guard move one of his pawns forward on the board.
Not the most creative, but he didn't have many options.
What did you take from a woman who had nothing? How did you punish someone who was already serving the longest punishment available?
The bank had seized her assets when she'd been locked up, and the lease on her apartment had long since run out. She didn't have any personal items with her, didn't seem to even care about anything besides making his life hell.
Case in point, when he got home that night, exhausted from dealing with Aelin and spending a long day at the office, he'd discovered her retaliation.
She'd stolen his bed.
The whole goddamn thing, frame and all.
How she'd managed to get it out of a penthouse condo with security not realizing a thing, he had no idea. He knew from experience it wouldn't even fit through the door.
It'd seemed if she was going to be uncomfortable, so was he.
Steaming with anger, he'd showered and flopped on the couch like an idiot, not even able to sleep thanks to the rage she'd worked him into.
She was completely kicking his ass. From the inside of a jail cell.
He hadn't gotten more than a few hours of sleep before giving up on even trying. At six, he'd dressed and driven to Whitehorn and Salvaterre, the law firm he was a partner at.
If he couldn't sleep, he'd at least figure out how the hell she was pulling this shit off.
Looking through her folder, he went through her daily schedule, seeing nothing out of the ordinary.
Eight am wake-up, breakfast, shower, lunch, yard time, dinner, lights out at nine. Between activities, she worked out in her cell or read a book from the run-down prison library.
In the eight years she'd been in prison, she hadn't had a single visitor. Her cousin Aedion--a playboy Rowan couldn't be paid to associate with--delivered a care package on the first of every month.
Strange, considering nothing of the sort had been in her cell.
She'd been in solitary confinement ever since randomly attacking her cellmate a little over a month ago. She was still allowed yard time and meals with the other prisoners, but she was chained at all times.
Also strange, considering Aelin wasn't the type to do anything randomly.
Rowan watched the security tapes he'd strong armed the guards into giving him, going through the past few days to see how she'd gotten out of her cell to rob him.
He watched as she was escorted to the yard, watched as she ate breakfast and lunch and dinner alone, watched as she put herself through vigorous training in her cell.
Days of footage, and he didn't find anything.
Feeling like a bit of a creep, he watched the nighttime footage of her sleeping, but there was nothing out of the ordinary.
She didn't move too much or too little--both of which would indicate it wasn't really her under that thin blanket. There were no attempts to pick the locks in between her wrists and ankles, no digging into the wall behind her toilet.
Nothing.
Which meant someone was helping her.
He could go through the official channels and ask the police for her known connections, but he hadn't reported either of the robberies yet.
Partly because he wanted to deal with her himself, partly because he felt a bit stupid getting robbed from a woman in the most secure prison in the city.
Which means he'd have to go about it a different way.
Grabbing his keys from his desk, he debated how else he could make her miserable, unfortunately finding nothing else he could do to her, no revenge he could get from robbing her tiny little cell.
No, he'd have to try something new.
Maybe he could bribe her into confessing. She didn't have anything right now, but maybe he could give her something to lose.
He'd bring her lunch, force himself to apologize for yelling at her, and just politely ask who her accomplice was.
He thought on it as he rode down the elevator to the garage. It probably wouldn't work, but he didn't know what else to do.
And besides, he knew from experience Aelin didn't respond well to his anger.
Checking his email to make sure he wasn't missing any important meetings, he pressed the button on his car fob, expecting to hear the resounding beep from his designated parking spot.
Except the beep never came.
Slowly looking up, Rowan had to amend his earlier statement.
Now he didn't think he'd ever been so pissed off in his life.
He stormed over to the security booth, hardly refraining from grabbing the man inside and throwing him to the ground.
"Where's my car, Rolland?"
"In your spot, boss," the stout little man replied instantly and surely, snapping his gum and looking at him in confusion. "Haven't seen you drive out yet."
"Yes, exactly. Which is why it's a mystery why it's no longer in it's spot."
Rolland caught up slowly. "You mean... it was stolen? From here? From you?"
Jaw so tight his molars were practically fused together, Rowan growled, "Just let me see the security tapes from this morning."
The guard nodded quickly, eyes nervous as he typed something into the desktop in front of him.
"That's weird," he muttered a moment later, typing faster and sending Rowan a nervous glance.
"What?" he asked, trying to calm himself down with a few of the breathing techniques he'd learned over the years.
"The tapes are gone, but there's... this."
Rolland turned the screen so Rowan could see it, and all the breathing in the world couldn't keep him from slamming a fist into the side of the security shack.
The footage was gone, and on the blank black screen read: Bishop to J7.
He was going to fucking kill her.
~Aelin~
"Enjoy your taxi ride here?" she asked sweetly, leaning back in her chair and crossing her legs.
Rowan scowled at her as he crossed the small room inmates could use to talk to their lawyers. He yanked the chair across from her out, then threw himself into it. "You are such a pain in my ass."
She just shrugged.
He sat across from her, angry and broody, and for a long time, he just stared at her.
Finally he asked, "Why are you doing this, Aelin?"
"I told you. You locked me up for something I didn't do. I want you to be as miserable as I am. It's simple, petty revenge."
Nothing about it was simple, but that was besides the point.
He was quiet for another moment. "Why now?"
She sighed, but she wasn't upset. Truthfully, she'd been waiting for him to ask that question.
"I want to tell you a story."
He stood up suddenly, face exasperated. "I'm not fucking joking around. And I'm not going to let you waste any more of my time."
He made his way to the door, and his dismissal of her pissed her off enough to say, "Sit down, or your car's going off Whigsby Bridge."
He smiled like he'd won their little game. "So you admit you have it."
"Sure," she said casually, honestly not giving a shit about the car.
His brow furrowed. "You're giving up? Just like that?"
"You're a fucking idiot if you think this is about your car, Rowan. But sure, I admit I know exactly where it, and your bed, and your little dagger are being hidden."
He narrowed his eyes. "This conversation is being recorded, and you just admitted to being an accessory to robbery, so-"
"You aren't going to press charges," she cut him off, pulling a cigarette out of her pocket and lighting it.
Nasty little prison habit she'd developed, smoking.
Or maybe she just did it because she knew he hated the smell.
"Oh, really?" he asked incredulously, eyeing the cigarette with disdain.
She grinned. "Once you sit and hear my story and realize I'm telling the truth, you're going to feel so guilty you won't even care about the car. Now sit down. I'd hate to see a classic get totaled because you're being stubborn again."
He glared at her, but came back to the table and sat down again.
Then reached over and snatched the cigarette from her lips, putting it out against the steel table top.
She just pulled out another, lighting it with one of her last matches. The irritation on his face made it worth the loss.
He waved a hand as if to say Get on with it.
She'd debated how to tell him this story for a long time. It was long, and messy and not particularly pleasant for her. But she wanted him to know the full thing, so she'd decided to start at the very beginning.
"My parents died when I was four," she began, ignoring his dramatic sigh. "I went into foster care, and as you can imagine, I was a particularly unruly child."
She smiled at the few memories she had. "I stole from the nuns, snuck out of my room at night and ran through the house, set all the clocks back an hour so we could sleep in. Small stuff. But it irritated them, because they couldn't prove it was me."
"Sounds familiar," he grouched, making her grin.
"I was adopted by Arobynn Hamel a year later."
As she'd predicted, his mouth fell open at that.
Arobynn was the known king of the underworld in Rifthold. He had a hand in every aspect of crime, yet no one could do anything about it because he never committed the crime himself.
His name was revered, so much so no one ever dared to cross him.
"But your record says-"
"That I stayed in foster care until I turned eighteen, I know."
Arobynn hated public records and had a deal with someone in the system that he'd take some of the kids off their hands if they kept quiet about it. Illegal as hell, but he wasn't someone you refused without suffering serious consequences.
It was the perfect crime. No one would miss unwanted kids, and it gave the system one less mouth to feed.
"I didn't know it, but he'd been watching me for a while. He... I don't know, saw something in me. Natural, innocent talent he could work with and turn into something different. He adopted me on my fifth birthday. And then he started training me."
"To do what?" Rowan asked, shoulders tensing.
"Everything," she answered with a shaky laugh, taking a long drag from her cigarette. "Stuff I wanted to learn, like how to pick a lock or walk without making sound. But as I got older, he taught me other stuff. Stuff I didn't want to know."
"How to kill," he finished, picking up on her tone.
She nodded, finishing her cigarette and flicking the butt on the floor.
"I was good," she told him quietly, looking down at the table. "By the time I was fifteen, he said I was the best he'd ever had. None of his other... children could beat me in a fight, not even the older ones who had a hundred pounds on me. And I could steal anything and not leave a trace."
His eyes didn't show an ounce of doubt, and she didn't know how to feel about it. But she kept going anyway.
"I was his favorite. I was his best asset, and I didn't care about anything that would compromise me. I lost my parents, and despite how much he wanted me to, I never loved him. I had no weaknesses. Except Sam."
"Another of his students?" Rowan asked, and it wasn't lost on her he said students instead of children.
She nodded. "We were adopted around the same time, grew up together. He was a year older, and whenever I had a problem, he was the one I'd turn to. He was good to me, and by the time I was seventeen, not a small part of me loved him."
Aelin broke off and took a deep breath, wishing she had another cigarette and trying to figure out how to put into words how much he'd meant to her.
"Was?" Rowan asked, so softly and quietly and understandingly that she was reminded of the man he'd once been, the one she'd loved.
Shaking her head to clear it, she said, "He made a mistake. He went on a job; he was supposed to break into one of the underground casino's owned by Arobynn's competitor and memorize the ledger, but he got caught. It was messy and horrible and stupid, and the owner wanted blood. Arobynn promised he'd kill Sam as retribution."
Rowan's eyes widened, almost like he hadn't realized how brutally she'd been raised until that moment.
"I begged him not to. Sam had saved me and helped me so many times that I couldn't not do the same for him. I told him I'd do anything."
She studied her hands, regret and guilt thick on her skin. "Arobynn said if I took ten of the jobs Sam was supposed to do, he wouldn't kill him. I thought they'd be similar to the one he'd messed up on, small break-ins or robberies. So I accepted."
A tear rolled down her cheek, and she batted it away as she continued, "The second I shook his hand, Tern--another of Arobynn's--shot Sam in the head."
Rowan's face blanched so quickly, she thought he might pass out.
He started to say something, but she spoke faster. "I... snapped. I killed Tern, tried to kill Arobynn. You called me a murderer, and that's true. I am, and I don't regret it. Tern was a sadistic bastard, and I'm glad he's dead. And one day, I'll kill Arobynn for what he did."
Rowan shook his head, confusion and shock and something similar to pity in his eyes. "Why didn't you leave, run away?"
She leveled a look at him. "I didn't exactly have a choice, Rowan. My punishment for Tern lasted for over a year."
There was a long pause.
"Punishment?" he asked in a breathless voice that made something in her chest hurt.
She looked at the table again, skin pebbling at the memory of that year. "He locked me in a cell in the basement, in the dark. Once a month he'd come in to ask if I knew someone named Sam. It took me ten months to get confused, another three to say no."
Still not meeting his eyes, she looked at his hands, noticing they were clenched so tightly the knuckles were white. And a part of her, buried under all the rage and resentment and sadness, warmed at the thought that he was... he was angry for her.
"It took me a long time after to figure out what was real and what wasn't. But Arobynn never let me forget our deal. And right before I met you, he told me the first job."
"What were the jobs?"
Aelin looked back up at that, the air thick between them as she said, "You already know."
"The murders."
She nodded, somehow managing to keep her spine straight despite the feeling of a hundred pound weight being lifted from her shoulders.
He at least knows why now, she thought to herself.
It was one of the things that had bothered her over the years. That he didn't know why she'd done what he thought she'd done. That he thought she'd.. wanted to do it.
He was silent for a long time, just watching her with a carefully emotionless face. "Thank you for telling me that," he said eventually. "I never could understand why."
Then he stood and walked to the door again, and it was only when his hand was on the handle she spoke again. "You asked why I'm doing this, and why I'm doing it now."
He opened the door but paused. Waited.
"It's because I tried to tell you this all those years ago, and you didn't care. You just assumed I was guilty because the evidence looked like it."
She spoke around the lump in her throat. "I told you I didn't kill those people, Rowan, and you didn't even care."
He spun around, slamming the door so hard it rattled, and in a split second, he was in front of her. A hand on the table, the other on her chair, he leaned down and got in her face.
He was so angry, so unbelievably enraged she couldn't believe it. He was angry?
"I didn't care? I didn't fucking care, that's what you think? Watching you get dragged away in cuffs was the worst moment of my life, and you think I didn't fucking care?"
Shock hit her like a bucket of ice water.
That moment was crystal clear in her mind, and she couldn't put what he was saying with what she knew.
He'd watched her with that same expressionless face, with cold eyes that had haunted her ever since.
She opened her mouth to say something, but he wasn't done.
"I fucked loved you! I thought you were the love of my life, Aelin. I begged you to tell me something that would help, tell me anything. But you didn't! You just kept saying you were innocent; you didn't give me anything to actually work with."
"I-"
"I found that stupid fucking list five days before I reported it, did you know that?"
She shook her head, because she hadn't.
"Exactly. You don't know what the hell you're talking about," he growled, eyes flashing. "I spent five days investigating it myself, trying to make sense of why you'd know those names. After your arrest, I spent two weeks trying to find anything, a single piece of evidence, that said it wasn't you. And after the trial, I spent another two months trying to poke holes in my own goddamn case."
He slammed a hand into the table. "I did everything I fucking could! I was desperate for it not to be you. I argued my case so your lawyer could plead circumstantial evidence. I put you on the stand so you could say anything you wanted. I went for life sentences instead of the death penalty to give you time to actually tell me what the hell was going on!"
She was breathing heavily, heart breaking and reforming over and over again at what he was saying, what he was implying.
"I didn't assume shit," he said in a low voice, so close they shared air. "You didn't tell me anything."
Aelin's voice trembled as she croaked, "I tried."
He shook his head, letting out a breath of amusement. "No, you didn't. If this past week has proven anything, it's that you don't try to do anything, you do it. You didn't tell me anything, Aelin. You're still not telling me anything."
"I'm telling you to look again! I'm telling you you didn't look hard enough, because I left breadcrumbs only you could find, breadcrumbs that explain everything."
"Stop playing games with me!" he shouted, eyes flashing with a fresh wave of anger. "It's been eight years! Stop holding onto whatever secret you're holding onto and just tell me!"
Gods, she wanted to.
He was the one person she couldn't trust with this secret, this stupid, most important secret, and yet he was the also the one person she wanted to tell it to.
She opened her mouth to tell him, but what came out was, "I didn't kill them, Rowan. I promise I didn't kill them. I can't... I can't tell you anything else."
"Jesus, Aelin," he spat, pushing off the table and turning to leave.
"Just look into it," she called after him, fingers digging into the table to resist the urge to try and follow him. "I promise you can figure everything out, and you'll understand everything. Please."
She knew why, after all this time, it was so important for him to know the truth when that hadn't been her original plan.
It was because she'd spent eight years believing he hadn't tried, believing she hadn't been a good enough person for him to even look into the possibility it wasn't her.
And maybe it was because he was once again leaving her, or maybe it was because she felt like she was in that courtroom again, begging him to believe her, or maybe it was because of something she didn't even understand yet.
Regardless of the reason, she found herself saying, "I loved you, too, you know."
He looked at her with sad eyes that she was sure mirrored her own and shook his head. "Not enough, apparently."
"You don't believe that," she argued, shaking her head and trying to keep the building emotions down.
"If you'd loved me, you would've told me. You would've given me the proof, whatever breadcrumbs you're talking about. You wouldn't have let me watch them take you away."
"Rowan-"
"You wouldn't have thought, for a second, that I didn't try to fight for you. And you sure as hell wouldn't have waited eight years to do whatever it is you're trying to do."
"I had to," she whispered, even as she knew it wouldn't be enough.
She shook with the effort to not tell him everything, but even after all he'd told her and how everything had changed, she just couldn't. Not yet.
He stood at the door, watching her with those eyes she'd once thought looked like the most beautiful emeralds. "Sometimes I think about it, you know. What life would be like if I hadn't tried to fix your sink in the middle of the night."
She smiled sadly. "Me too."
Rowan shook his head, gaze taking in her face like he thought he'd never see her again.
He thought it was over now, she realized. He thought that now she knew he hadn't given up on her immediately, now that she'd told him the story she'd wanted to tell him, that it was over and she'd give up.
"Look again," she whispered. "You know I didn't do it. It's why you're here, why you kept looking after the trial ended. You know I wouldn't."
"Goodbye, Aelin," he said instead, not telling her any of the things she really wanted to hear.
It wasn't until the door shut behind him she finally let herself cry.
She'd told herself that it didn't matter; that in a month the truth would come out and everything would be normal again.
She'd told herself she was only messing with Rowan for revenge, not because she wanted to see him again or test that he'd find the clues she'd left for him.
She'd told herself this was just a game.
She'd told herself all sorts of things that turned out to be lies.
