Not all solarpunk art has to be art nouveau! Not all architecture has to be white stone and green glass in a western-style city! Not everyone is abled enough to just make by hand all the things they want or need that they currently purchase under the capitalist economy. Not everyone you meet on the internet is American (seriously guys, what’s with this assumption, I get it all the time even though I tell you I’m British in my bio). Not everyone wants to work the land or build turbines for a living.

A truly Solarpunk future is one where we speak different languages, employ a variety of techniques to work the land, provide for our material and spiritual needs and restore the environment. It’s open borders and community solidarity and sex worker justice and indigenous sovereignty. For some people it looks like a quiet rural life and for others it’s all about the bustle of a city full of reliable transit and accessible third spaces. It’s also about realism. Some things will be rarer because we will have had to massively slow down trade and shipping to decarbonise it - we’ll need to eat locally as much as possible. In utopia some disabled people will still need cars, so we need EVs despite their current imperfections.

There will likely be mosques, community centres, food forests, art galleries and hospitals. People will be trying their best. We’ll mess up. We can’t predict what will happen and we certainly can’t universalise one experience. And if Solarpunk is all about living out a prefigurative politics where you imagine you exist in a world already free, then it’s essential we try to practice that open-mindedness and lack of assumptions in our day to day interactions, in real life and on the internet

imo, buck being in the same clothes is an indicator of the progress in buck and tommy's relationship. they're at a point where dinner together isn't only for date night, it's two people in a relationship finding comfort in the act of sharing a meal together after one of them has had a hard day. tommy asks how buck is doing, buck is honest and vulnerable, tommy opens up too, and then they both lighten up the conversation by flirting. it's the type of relationship my partner and i have. when things outside are overwhelming and completely out of control, spending time together and cracking jokes together is my safe space, a way to draw some strength before i have to deal with life's uncertainty again.

to me, the whole thing was sort of a culmination of buck's arc so far. he's the guy who used to be almost frantic in his single-mindedness when there was a crisis. but he's grown through the events of the past two seasons and now he's just as single-minded but far more steady. he can prioritise multiple facets of his life at the same time in a balanced way, and thus manages to support multiple people who depend on him while also taking care of himself. he can be there for chris and eddie and bobby AND himself. he doesn't see the need to deny himself a moment of safety and calmness and relaxation when everything else has gone to shit. he's learnt to love himself enough to allow himself that. and i think that's beautiful.

they're past the point of needing to impress each other on every date 😊. again, they keep saying "if they wanted us to think they're gonna last they would give us more of the relationship" but they are, they're giving us a lot, it's just not being spoon fed to us like we're idiots

buck is clearly so much more settled. the buck from even a year ago would have spiralled about bobby and put all his energy into "fixing" chris and eddie as that's easier to fix than a bad heart. this buck was able to voice his concerns about bobby, be heard, and healthily move on; and was able to (mostly) recognize that his role in the eddie and chris situation is as support, not, in ryan's words, a scapegoat.

There IS criteria to being a Punk. This isn’t one of those things where you can change your clothes and claim, like VSCO or Scene! If you like punk style clothes, great! There are many other subcultures with similar styles! However Punk is, in essence, a political movement/statement!

The criteria for being a Punk are:

-Open Mindedness, meaning no phobias or ists. Punks are here to serve and uplift our community, not push us back. Gender, sexuality, race, none of that shit matters in the Punk community, unless someone’s being oppressed.

-Be kind. Not every punk can afford to buy a battle vest, not every punk can make their own. Punk is made from what you have available. I make my own patches because I can’t afford to buy them, but my Father would buy his patches because he didn’t have the time to make them. It’s not punk rock to make fun of someone because of what they do or don’t have.

-Punch Nazis. You don’t have to do it physically, not ever punk wants a charge. But we do not, and will not, ever side with Nazis.

-Fuck the Facists. Unfortunately we all have to live in a form of society and capitalism, there’s no escape. But a punk hates a Facist.

Basically Punks rely on the basis of “Every person is entitled to life, freedom, love and safety.” Sometimes things can’t always be so love and light, you don’t have to be a protesting rebel to be a punk, but in this subculture there are protesting rebel activists, and those are your family in this community.

Punk isn’t dead and with every surge of new baby punks and big stompies on the ground, we get closer to stopping racism, facism, and plain ol oppression, but it’s important we are all moving toward the same goal!

"Of course your Great Hall is like our Big Hall." Out of nowhere, your classmate, and another guest student, appeared in the hallway. "And to make it funnier, it's exactly the same as the Great Hall in the Durmstrang."

"No one asked." You playfully rolled your eyes and then gently smacked his arm. "Lily, shall we go outside?"

"Yeah. Can we take James with us?" Asked the girl from Hogwarts, her eyes almost reminded you of a puppy.

"That's not my decision to make." You shrugged and looked at your classmate who only nodded. "Let's go then."

You all might ask "why were Hogwarts' students in Ilvermorny?" Coming with the explanation in 3, 2, 1.... For fun. Really. The teachers from both schools had decided that students exchange would have a great impact on open-mindedness and friendliness. So they organised the exchange and here we were.

"So." Lily, who was happily scanning the yard, stopped her eyes on you. "Do you have your favourite subject? Mine is alchemy."

"I'm good at defence against the dark arts." Stated nonchalantly your classmate as if it was the most well-known thing in the whole world. "You too James, right?"

"Well, I'm not that bad, I guess." Murmured James and shrugged his shoulders. "But I prefer transmutation. What about you, Y/N?"

The question was directed your way, yet at first you didn't answer. You were taken aback how your name sounded in James's lips. It was different from anyone ever saying that, softer, even magical.

"Oh, sorry." When you remembered you were supposed to answer, your cheeks turned red in embarrassment. "I like ancient history and runes."

"Yeah, of course you do." Now it was your classmate who rolled eyes playfully. "You would be scribbling those little signs everywhere."

"That's for protection."

Who would think that you and a guest student would be so good together. Saying the same things at the same moment? That only happens with friends.

"Wow, pump the hate breaks, guys." Your friend chuckled nervously. "No need to yell at me."

The days were passing by so quickly that you didn't realise 2 weeks of the exchange passed. 2 more to go!

But that wasn't the only thing you noticed. The eyes. Brown eyes hidden behind the glasses were almost everywhere. And were following you and your every step.

"James!" Lily waved at her friend, who was walking out of the classroom with your friend, as they approached the two of you.

The little satisfaction when Potter stopped by your side, no Lily's, made your eyes shine a bit more than normally, that's why you looked at the ceiling to hide the sparks.

You felt Evans stiffening up a bit by your side and heard her sharply inhaling the air. She wasn't happy about that.

"Let's go to the Big Hall." Offered your friend and the four of you headed to the big room on the first floor where the late lunch was being served.

Nothing would be weird or unusual except for James walking by your side. His hand would, from time to time, brush against yours, making you shiver underneath your robe.

"James." Lily turned her face to her friend who only hummed in exchange. "Did you know that one of the creators was called 'James'?"

"Yeah. I heard." The answer was a lot colder than it should be, and for sure his attitude towards Lily changed since their arrival.

"The funny thing is, we are older than you." Joked your classmate. "By the whole 637 years."

When all of you reached the Big Hall, Lily quickly changed her spot, so she could easily sit next to James. You only smiled at that, it was cute on one side but a bit annoying on the other. But it wasn't your deal.

As many of you had noticed, James was seeking your presence. That's why he sat next to you in the Big Hall, even moved closer.

"So what are your plans for the future?" You asked, taking sips of pumpkin juice from your cup.

"I wanna go and take a nap." Whispered your classmate for what you kicked him under the table. "What? I wanna sleep!"

"Plans for the future! Like the future future." You explained in a way no one could misunderstand. "In 15, 20 years?"

"I wanna be a teacher in Hogwarts." Said Lily, her fingers tracing the decoration on the fork. "Probably charms."

"What about you, James?" You asked calmly. "What do you plan?"

"I want to be an auror. Or a Quidditch player."

Was it something you expected? Partially. Being an auror also ran through your head, many times. But did it suit you? Maybe.

"Y/N." You looked at Potter whose hand was on yours. "You zoned out."

"Yeah, sorry." You smiled shyly, eyes moving from one person to another. "What was going on?"

"We were waiting for your answer." Explained Lily. "About the future."

Fever

I actually don't even remember when and how I got the Joker Out fever. What attracted me? The lyrics for sure, words have always been a sacred tie for me, a fundamental element. Rhythms and melodies were not far behind. Likeable. Enough to awaken my attention, followed by curiosity and then the excitement of discovery.

Charisma, honesty, open-mindedness. The incredibly complementary collection of members, both in personality and in their image, works as if they had been put together by some giant professional American or English production company. But they have built themselves. Step by step, as it seems, since childhood... With resolution. With learning. With a freshness of their own which is brimming in them, and which they are showering over people far and wide... Material that is good enough to set one small country on fire. And this fever knows no bounds and it is spreading.

In a world where we are all the media, it's not that hard to create one hit. But keeping and stacking the material to maintain and even increase the temperature is a task that many have already undertaken. Only few succeed.

The first time I heard the song "Novi Val", which is becoming the anthem of a whole generation, I was as struck as if I had opened a textbook with instructions on how to exist and at the same time embrace life. Youth is always finding it's own way, circumstances are constantly changing. The rebellion of yesterday is not the same as the rebellion of today. However, the inner strength that drives the world forward is the same.

Authenticity

There are five of them. Five points of a star.

Their roles in the five-pointed community are so natural. It doesn't matter who occupies which place, when or why, but more importantly that they blend in with the others- just as the points in a star blend together. What matters is that everyone enjoys it. Playing, complementing. And growing. I perceive them as coexisting in total acceptance of one another.

If they have made their way to the stage by by walking the road laid before them by their role models, this influence has brought them to a point where they seem to have found not just each other, but their own star.

One role stands out despite their unity. This role is not called frontman for nothing. He is simply in the foreground. Born for the stage, regardless where or with whom, but at the same time a sensitive soul and a perfectionist. I was struck by how subtly he slowly turned the stage spotlights onto his friends in the band, so that they all came out of their shells or got rid of their reservations. The wisdom of a leader, hats off.

Mastery

The boys are precise and skilled in their work, although (or maybe because of it) their performances in smaller clubs seem casual, as if they had just dropped in on their way. Their mileage of being onstage is noticeable. They give off the feeling of an old, well-rehearsed rock band. But the magic happens when the audience feels that the pleasure is theirs. The wave that lights up on the stage ripples in both directions.

A crowd of a few hundred or a few thousand - there is no great difference in the response - is spellbound from the first to the last chord. This desire to move with everyone on and below the stage is more than the individual bras, bracelets and glasses, which are already becoming a collection. It is a powerful force of invisibly woven feelings, emotions, memories and visions. It is the enthusiasm of youth, regardless of age.

Who is part of the generation of love and hope? The Stožice stadium gave me the answers.

A six-year-old girl, sitting calmly cross-legged on a slightly raised technical prop in the arena, silently moves her lips with each word in the song, and as the boys leave the stage, she wisely observes, "It's not over yet. Carpe diem is still missing."

Her father, who looks at her with wide-eyed pride.

Thirteen-year-old best friends, accompanied by one of their mothers, experiencing the ecstasy of each song individually? Their own experience follows the band and the stage, and with the obligatory recording on the phone, they sing to each other, confessing and commanding each verse, with the full conviction that it is theirs.

The mother is stoically tolerating what is happening, obviously aware of the importance of this moment for her daughter.

In the stands, the seats are not filled because all the ticket holders are on their feet, dancing, singing.  And they undulate. Fans and admirers in a crowded fan pit, who have been preparing for this moment of unity for six, eight, ten months.

Friends and colleagues of the five guys, scattered all over the arena, keeping a watchful eye on every move.

Slovenia, Europe, the world. Twenty-seven countries are present in one space and united in one chorus. An ode to youth, rebellion, trust and determination. It lasts for two hours in this place, but lives in the heart in each moment, pulsating in a single beat.

No, it is not hypnosis, it is a wave of hope and trust. A belief that youth can do anything. This youth is not really defined by numbers.

Values

What do these guys have that is lacking in the world? Surely something deep, something that every young heart naturally longs for. When it merges into the same river with them, that deepness can be drunk in long draughts.

Respect. To everyone. To their roots. To the world.

 Compassion. The desire to be human.

 Playfulness. That inexhaustible companion of creativity.

Cooperation and cohesion. Powerful weapons to prevent the ego from growing like a wild weed.

The ability to maintain distance without arrogance. The ability to accept without becoming greedy.

Gratitude and modesty. These two keep your feet firmly on the ground.

Courage and hope. Two invincible forces that help to spur and tame even the wildest horses and lift them up to the unknown, the incredible, the dreamlike.

I perceive their strong mindsets through their gestures, words, concerts, interviews. Although it is quite clear how responsibly and professionally they have embarked on their journey, I hope that the weight of what they have already experienced does not press them into too much deliberation about the way forward. I sincerely wish them to remain in tune with their authenticity: childishly mischievous, youthfully seductive and juicily mature.

This world is already all theirs ...

... not entirely a guide but more like an observation.

If we want to look at the problem with the fast-paced media consumer viewpoint, I think starting with the Bad Batch it's actually not a bad idea for someone who never watched Star Wars animated media before. It's sad but cartoons, animations can repulse people to watch things because they link them to child stories, something only a child would watch, also most of the people prefer live action instead of animated stuff. Especially if the said movie/series is quite old. cont. under the cut...

There could be a reason why people are not interested in clones

If a friend, family member, boyfriend/girlfriend/whatever only saw the movies and were not interested in TCW before, had not seen it as a child on TV, they will probably have prejudice against the clones. - They weren't the main characters in the movies therefor we have not seen them interacting that much with the main cast. - But even if you don't know star wars, you will probably know the clones for Order 66, white armored assholes who murdered the jedi aka good guys. And when the movies came out, inhibitor chips weren't in the picture. ---> this observations came while watching TCW with my dad who didn't like the clones because for this exact same reason: the clones basicly serve antagonist without question in a world where rules were set: jedi are good, sith are evil. -> I don't care that it is more complex that. THE CLONE WARS 2003

Why do I recommend this first.

You can always say it's made by the same guy who made Samurai Jack. Strategically speaking Clone Wars 2003 would be a good starting point despite not being canon anymore because TCW is adapting some of the stories shown here. It recaps well what happened between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Also this is the first media where Asajj Ventress and Grievous were introduced, and where you can actually see Grievous in his prime, an absolutely terrifying foe who actually can mop the floor with the jedi. Lots of jedi were introduced here which later also appeared in TCW. Why is this important: Having familiarity with the characters shown in memorable scenes helps that you will recognise them later in other media. Like... Hey it's the jedi dude who stripped in the middle of a fight! Hey, aren't these the same guys who mutated an entire village out of fun who kidnapped Echo??? And so on. TIME: 25 x 5 minutes episodes full of action so it keeps up the interest, and... FORDO. 5 minutes of full clone badassery. While TCW emphasises on the theme that the clones are living, feeling human beings who can die exactly like a human, in CW2003 they are shown like really the badass super soldiers (especially the ARC Troopers) who were bred for war. How much time it takes an episode to watch is an important factor. Because someone who binge watches 10 x 1 hour long netflix series under one day without sleep, drink, eat is not a guarantee that they will be able to sit through 133 x 22 minutes episodes. The sheer numbers will scare them away, nobody has a time watch 133 episodes when you can watch like... 5 different series instead! STORY TELLING COMPARED TO TCW: CW2003 goes for mostly visual story telling instead of talking. It's suspenseful, it's scenic, it's extreme, sometimes silly (rocket-launcher clone in the elevator with zero fuck given is still my favorite) but it's guarantee that you will remember. TCW episodes are varying from episodic to two-to-four episode arcs, it has silly comic relief episodes, it has serious dark episodes, obligatory beach episode, obligatory valentine day episode, obligatory school festival episodes obligatory-just kidding lol , so the lenght of one story can be varying, so is the quality of them. So unless you have a hyperfixation, or are a completionist, or interested enough, the episodes - in psychologycal term -, won't urge you the continue. Because in one 22 minutes episode you got a complete story without cliffhanger it won't make you think, because all the questions asked in the beginning of the episode was answered at the end. It won't rush you to continue, because you know that probably the next episode will be about an entire different conflict. You can stop anytime without the feeling of "just one more episode, just one more episode". Also, it doesn't help that you know how the story will end if you saw Revenge of the Sith. The forementioned uglyness... It took me years to finish TCW. I hated when it came out back in 2009 despite loving Star Wars and CW2003 and only after a decade picked up my interest again, it still took me years to finish it anyway. Back then, I really hated how everything got quickly 3D in neglection of 2D. But can't say it's ugly because it's old, it was ugly when it came out! You really have to force yourself to accept how it looks until you are fine with it, because your eyes got used to it. Also some episodes were boring, not entertaining, I just lost interest and only came back later to continue and I even forgot what happened before. I can't remember most of the arc expect those I was interested in to rewatch it again in the last years. Yes, the quality will improve. Season 7 is beautiful. The visuals of Bad Batch is also beautiful. But between season 6 and season 7, years passed.

THE BAD BATCH

Why do I recommend TBB for someone who ain't got time for shit™:

- TBB season are 16 episodes long. It's friendlier than 133 number wise. - There are only a few main characters to follow. It's important because when there are a large cast of characters, it's easy to get confused who is who and with literal CLONES as main characters, it's hard to distinguish them from each other. I know I can distinguished them, because I'm so fixated on them that every single verbal and non-verbal gesture they make will shoot me into outer space. - The Batch uses popular character tropes, different looks, different voices and tones, so they are recognisable, therefore, you will remember them for the rest of the show. So it will be a chance that you will fall for at least one member of the batch. And then you'll be thirsting mess over one character and eventually you'll be staning all of them, and eventually you will seek out more contents,fanfics, fanarts, headcanons with them that will attract TCW characters or events as well that will lead further deep down into the clone-hell. --> You can start showing the Bad Batch arc TCW where Jesse, Kix, Rex, Cody is also present, so there are plenty of topic and characters to talk about later. Also... Who is this Echo guy, how did he end up here? You can show the Domino Squad episodes, Kamino arc, citadel arc... - This could be a double-edge sword, but TBB are shown resemblance to Delta Squad, Omega Squad and Null ARC troopers. You know Delta Squad from the Video Game, Republic Commando, while the Omegas and Nulls are the main characters of the book series with the same name by Karen Traviss. I say it's double edged, because without these fantastic characters we wouldn't have The Bad Batch, but also I can understand the fans who wanted the Deltas adapted properly instead. - In season 1, the "fillers" add to the story and the characters as well and they won't get episodic-amnesia. (they may have TCW amnesia though... yes, I look at you Echo.) - In Season 1, there is a clear conflict which shadow always lingers even if the plot of the episode does not directly touches it. - Returning characters from TCW like Rex and Gregor could make the consumer ask the questions: who are these guys and why are they important? Rex is cute, is there more episodes with him? Oh yes, my dear prey friend, there is a whole series about him. - I only say season 1 because I'm not entirely satisfied how season 2 were handled while I enjoyed the first one. My hyperfixation for TCW last year literally started with Bad Batch. The trailer was so misleadingly awesome I wanted to watch it before season 2 would come out, but I wanted to finish TCW first (finally!). Season 6 and Season 7 were basicly binge watch and it got me interested again in the previous seasons too.

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS 2008 (movie)

Why do I recommend this before TCW - It has Fox - Because sitting through a one-night movie is still easier than watching 133 episodes while maintaining the same quality of the show. - It has Fox - It shows the story how Ahsoka is introduced as Anakin's padawan the first time and we get a glimpse of their initial relationship and dynamic. - It has Fox - Basicly two arc in one movie but the introduced characters stay the same the entire time so you have time to get to know them, recognise them, and later you can remember them. - It has Fox - It has Fox.

TALES OF THE JEDI

It has that one episodes with the clones where they train Ahsoka. Possible questions could be asked: wtf happens at the END? Where is the rest of it? You can instantly show the last arc of season 7. Which would lead to another questions: wtf are the mandalorians, why Maul is here, wtf happening with Rex during O66, why is he hesitating to shoot Ahsoka? Now you can show the Chip conspiracy ARC with Fives! This Fives is a nice guy, is there more episodes of him? Oh boy~

And if they are interested in watching TCW with you..

- Watching together as spending time together usually helps. I think discord also has a function where you can stream movies to others. - You don't have to watch it in the exact order the episodes came out - Show arcs. There are lot of clone centric arcs. I literally collected all the episodes where Echo and Fives are present. --> Dad remembered Echo the whole time and he felt sorry for him. I showed the episodes in such order that his story could be followed easely. ------------- I know. I get it. Every episode is awesome. Every character is awesome. They are. They are all blorbos. They are our blorbos.

💚 So far no one has been able to unthrone Sasuke. Everything about him is perfect for me. His supportive nature, humor, genius intellect, kindness, scientific bent, curiosity, bravery, sweetness, reliability, open-mindedness, understanding nature, resourcefulness, resiliency, loyalty, glasses, and .... he looks equally hot in his lab coat as in his ninja garb.

These are the mad lads whose stories I NEED to read because I'm so very very intrigued by them and I love how they are written. But there isn't a shred of sexual or physical attraction existing for me (okay...maybe a shred for Seth. And maybe maybe for Mitsuhide). If I could have added Keiji and the new characters from Ikemen Prince, Keith and Gilbert, this would be the best category for them.

❤ This category...? Um, I needed a place to put the dudes who are HAWT🔥 but I think are toxic or crass or just not my cup of tea. If other otome games were included in this list, I would definitely put Soichiro from "7 Hotties All My Husbands" and Rei Shindo from "Several Shades of Sadism". Takasugi would scratch a very particular itch I have if only he wasn't such an uncommunicative jerk! Faust with his glasses, stern expression, scientific curiosity, and high standards is SO MY TYPE, but the game developers decided to have him pretend to be a priest (masquerading as clergy or religious vocation is a squick for me). Those are just a few examples of men who are in that category of "you're so yummy, but you'll give me an upset stomach, so I have to control myself."

This is just a brain dump because I finished reading The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon, and this book got me in a chokehold. If I don’t let it out some way I think I will explode.

I honestly haven’t read a book in so long that represented POCs like Priory where being a POC is not them being insecure or that their whole plot line or personality. They are in depth characters with goals and journeys they go through, they have their own passions and beliefs they hold so dear to their hearts that seem unbreakable, but develop an open mindedness to learning, growing and forming a deeper understanding of the world beyond their own beliefs. They are badass magical warriors who are so so vital to the plot. They’re not just there to coddle or be side characters. They are given the biggest spotlight to shine and grow!

Samantha Shannon writes them so beautifully and so strong with so much care and love! And the queerness of the characters. Oh my god. How natural and normal it is in the Priory world is gorgeous! Imagine living in a world where you’re not chastised the slightest bit for loving who you love. The Queen of the greatest kingdom falls in love with her handmaiden and the repercussion that followed was due to rank difference, not because they’re two women.

As a bisexual woman of colour, I can’t emphasise how much joy and love I have for this book. Growing up it was difficult to find literature where LGBTQ+ characters were the protagonists in genres I gravitate towards, let alone LGBTQ+ people of colour! Not in the mainstream and popular media at least in the early-mid 2010s when I was a teenager (will not disclose my age but yes, I am this old). I’m sure a lot of people my age can relate to this, but the world is expanding with literature and media a lot of us were searching for when we were younger.

What a beautiful thing that is, right?

And, honestly, all the characters! They’re so fleshed out and unique. Sabran is complex and such an interesting character with her own pain from societal pressures as Queen, to produce a daughter for her line, etc. She did annoy me at times in the beginning. I found her a little bratty but in my opinion? She didn’t know any better and to watch her character development was stunning. High key grew into probably the best ruler of Inys ever had. Even Niclays, honestly. Man’s sanity was hanging on by a thread and got himself in the worst situations known to man, but his downfalls and breakdowns were so entertaining. Loth’s journey was so stressful and this guy had one crisis of faith after another, but he’s one of my favourite characters, for real. He’d go to hell and back for his friends, he loves his sister so dearly and it just melts my heart what he’d do for the people he loves.

And goes without saying Ead & Tané: god-tier characters! My badass warrior queens! Both so stubborn and passionate and strong and flawed! They parallel each other, they have so many similarities but so unique from each other!

I may or may not shut up about Priory for a while, but I do have a few more books in my TBR I’m dying to read in the next coming months. That includes the prequel, A Day Of Fallen Night. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into that one!

Tw: vent post about feeling unsafe due to political climate

Went to the local beach bc I was having a bad mental health day. Most of the trip was fine but... At some point this old white guy showed up, about a dozen pro trump flags attached to his wheelchair, and he's hovering around my car- which could be because it is just in one of the spots next to the grass, or it could be because it has queer positive and pagan bumper stickers. (Note that I myself am disabled, used to be chair bound, and have handicap parking permits. There are no handicap spots at the beach so we weren't parked in one or anything.)

And already, every time I go to the beach in my small town I worry about getting heckled for being openly trans, that someone will make comments about the scars on my chest, and yet would still rather that happen then get continuously misgendered. It's bad enough that the time before last my beach visit was cut short by rowdy teen boy shouting racial and other slurs at each other and I was just so uncomfortable I left.

The man didn't say anything, but he did stare at me as I got in my car and continued to stare as I waited for my spouse to catch up. As soon as we pulled out he moved away from where we had been parked, which did not fill me with confidence. I have been left once again terrified and lost in worry that the people like that in my town will find my home and try to hurt my family, that the cops will be on Their Side.

I love this beautiful farm house, I love being able to keep farm animals and have freedom over my property. I love being close to the water, the sandy soil and trees as old as this nation. We literally cannot afford to live anywhere else. We spent what we had moving away from terror once already. Not even an hour away is the city and it is full of queer people and other pagan and diversity and open-mindedness. But we are just far enough away somehow- or perhaps rather no matter where I go these people, who claim they are simply advertising their beliefs but in actually are advertising their desire for my systemic eradication, will continue to be there and be the loudest and make every space possible just feel hostile and unwelcome.

There was a Republican vote trump booth at the local fair I went to in the city. The one where everyone was gay and pagan and there were dozens of apothecaries and pagan churches and pflag and queer groups. They didn't instill fear there, because they were clearly the minority, because the good happy people celebrating their reality without hatred were louder, but they were still there, still lurking about, still trying to fill enough space to push others out of it even if for once they failed.

I am so tired of being antagonized and feeling afraid.

He can see little, but there is light in her pupils that glows. “I fear what I would do if you do not. Keep your eyes on mine. Keep your eyes…”

So I'm GONNA but I'm gonna put it under a cut because this fic is new and you should go read it!

I love that you asked for this because there's so much about it! Firstly, I wanted Gort's bloody mindedness to lead to him bleeding out in a puddle of shit because, as much as I spend so much time in his space, fuck that guy. Especially fuck him here! He's disrespected her, their boundaries, and has put himself in her domain where she has the least control. The Slayer form is, in this version, something she can control in the same way that he can control his mechs, but it's simple and not something which has nuance, and her control is not enough to save him from instinct.

This moment came from a desire for me to have the tension between wanting to help and hurt each other. I loved the idea of Gortash being immobilised by Manva and her having to fix it. We know that souls bound to Bane do not have the leniency of some Gods - if you die, you're GONE - so she's against the clock here. But she's also fighting her Urge like CRAZY. She wants to kill him. She wants to consume him. Sceleritas knows it, she knows it, and if he was more lucid I think Gort would too. I find that fighting desires very sexy, personally, ha. When she says keep your eyes on me, she's trying to stay in control. She fears that she will lapse and kill him. But of course, keep your eyes also refers back to an earlier moment...

The Bane line was the last thing I wrote in the whole fic, when I was looking for an emotional peak to the story. I realised with a heavy heart as writing it that this is probably the moment she realises she's in love with him. And from this moment really, she is utterly doomed. I think she believes she would fight a God for his soul (get in line I guess.) It's the beginning of her end as she spirals into doubt and starts to unravel, which leads to her breakdown and Orin being able to usurp her.

The key to their relationship was always Enver is Manva's only love, but she is not Enver's. I think he really considers himself to adore her, but the way he does so is to want to own, to pull apart, to put on display. It cannot meet her as a person, and as a rather damaged, layered person. One day I'll write more from her perspective, because there's a lot to say about her damage from being raised in the Open Hand temple of Ilmater, her devotion, and what she actually wants below her shield of faith.

ok i dont see anyone else talking about the three throwaway classpects mentioned in kgtac so ill talk about it

PART 1: The System of KGTAC

when the john cosplayer asks about god tiers, dave firstly says that everyone and everything is made of aspects. what this implies about sburb itself, i still dont exactly understand. do certain concepts just happen to have a high composition of an aspect than others? like, would the idea of religion/zeal be made of hope? does the wind blow because the little breathlets in it like to do as they please? its surely an interesting idea cole thought to chew on. maybe john can become a zephyr since his god tier allows him to transform into the breath aspect itself, not as in "doing this would make him free from consquence" but more "this guy is now 99% concentrate breath aspect". the kgtac god tier system contrasts homestuck's god tier system, probably because homestuck is meta in a much different way to how kgtac is. ill just refer to them as h!godtiers and kc!godtiers to avoid confusion. Anyways as i was saying, h!godtiers are "assigned" to a person, whereas kc!godtiers ARE the person. i.e, an individual defines their mythological title in homestuck, and an individual is defined by their mythological title in kgtac. especially considering that there are millions of bajillions of class/aspect combos present in kc!dave and kc!karkat's multiverse, it would be entirely possible for that to be the case.

PART 2: The Mu of Pane

now that ive established my perspective on how kc!godtiers work, lets actually dissect some of them. we'll go in the order of kc!dave mentioning them. the mu of pane is only described as "an extremely powerful god tier", but that isnt much to go off of. instead i'll be using some research to perhaps mold it into thw shape of dave's description. "mu", or μ, is the twelfth letter of the greek alphabet, romanized as the letter m. it derives from the egyptian hieroglyph for water, which were modified by the phoenicians and named after their word for water, mem. in academics it can mean a LOT of things, so to save myself a headache ill use it to represent extremely small units, minimization operators, and the cleanliness of an orbital zone. this helps us narrow it down to two things, flow and reduction. "one who allows for flow" or "one who creates flow" is pretty boring, to me at least. sylph and page are already the "creation" classes, so maybe it could be "one who allows flow of aspect from one place to another". if we take the reduction route, "one who minimizes aspect" or "one who reduces aspect". personally, im going to go with the latter. when i think of "mu", i think about microns and shit. if you want to theorize about the guy who lets pane flow, i implore you to. speaking of pane, what is pane? dave says "pane as in window pane" which helps a lot actually. what is the one thing that windows do? they allow for the passage of light, knowledge. pane as an aspect relates to open-mindedness, focus, and transparency the most. on the other hand, pane could be corrupted into blind belief, fragility, and inflexibility. yknow, cus glass. pane is closely connected to light, mind, hope, and rage. pane players can encompass any of these traits to any degree! my first thought is kankri. kankri possesses mostly negative traits of pane, but hes very clearly focused and inflexible in what he believes in, whether it be for the best or worst. theres also probably a pun to be made for him being a pain. the Mu of Pane would not at all be like kankri though. a Mu of Pane, or one who restricts, reduces, and overall diminishes Pane, is an underminer. at their full potential, the Mu of Pane can blur the line between reality and surreality to the point where one cannot tell the difference. they can create distrust, doubt, and infighting among their enemies, and be hiding in plain sight. this is why the Mu of Pane is such a powerful god tier. despite their disruptive abilities, they can still be a positive asset to a team. simply being around a Mu of Pane will make you constitute. mind reading and control is near useless, as if the mu's skull was made of lead. perhaps an archetype for this god tier are tinfoil conspiracists! distrusting of authority and willing to convert anyone by any means.

PART 3: The Tide of Yon

the next two god tiers are tricky, as dave spends little time on them. my first thought when i hear "tide" is a bringer of something, like how the tide brings water to higher onto the beach. the definition of tide specifies the rising and falling of the sea levels. theres also a verb; to tide is to drift and fluctuate with something or someone. the tide would be "one who fluctuates aspect", or "one who drifts with aspect", which are pretty vague roles? im sure it will work out though. a Tide of Blood could be the one who brings a team together, but as their title suggests, it wont last long. an archaic definition for tide is "a space of time" which i found to be kinda funny, both because that would be a valid mythological title and how it segues into the yon aspect. yon literally means "that over there", which i interperet to be something upcoming. yon can be the speculation of the future, or the dread of an unstoppable force. yon would associate with the passage of time, movement across space, dread, sight, and patience. this makes yon closely connected to the cardinal aspects, not unlike life and doom. the Tide of Yon fluctuates and fluctuates with Yon. this means that the Tide's action are influence by the future, and the future is influenced by the Tide's actions, creating a loop. it could also be interpereted as the Tide fluctuating between different facets of Yon, such as the hope or dread that comes from it. perhaps the Tide creates conflicting predictions or even truths about what is on the horizon. im not able to pinpoint any specific abilities relating to this title, but i think thats reflective of the Tide's passive nature. their influence IS the power.

PART 4: The Fling of Rime

for this one, i'll start with the aspect rather than the class. theres much more i can draw from rime than i can with fling so. yeah. rime by definition is the frost that forms on things when water vapor or fog crystallizes. its like dew but frozen. to rime means to cover things in said frost. rime then could be the "ice aspect", in a similar way to how breath is the wind aspect or how life is the plant aspect. rime is all about lethargy, abandonment, and the weight of your actions, not unlike the weight of rime on the branches of winter trees. while these sound pretty bad, they're important themes in the context of sburb! a Sylph of Rime could be a teacher, while a Rogue of Rime can be a deadweight. in this sense, rime is a close relative of doom. the fling class on the other hand couldnt be more different. a fling is a short period of enjoyment or wild behavior, and to fling is to throw or hurl forcefully, typically without care. using this, the fling would be described as "one who discards aspect" or "one who is frivolous with aspect". the best way i can describe this would be someone who doesnt really understand their aspect, and therefore either wastes their potential or ends up being a liability to everyone around them. a fling could be an inversion of the mage class then; mages understand aspect, whereas flings misunderstand aspect. the Fling of Rime is "one who is frivolous with Rime", they dont know the weight of their own actions. this person may live in their own world, not paying attention to the events surrounding them. they may also have poor judgement, not knowing to look before they leap. there isnt much to salvage from this title, honestly. they could get cool ice powers? i guess? but theyre bound by fate for their fall to be by the Fling's own hands.

PART 5: The End of Post

hopefully ypu enjoyed this god tier analysis! ill definitely do more of these if i get requested to, cus its a lot of fun speculating. it did take me a while to write this all out, but thats cus i was basing this post off of three pages from an mspfa. like i said though, feel free to add anything youd like to this, whether you agree or disagree!
