Steve tries to stay quiet while he gets ready for work, but Eddie hears him. He keeps his eyes closed and just listens- to Steve grumbling to himself when his hair doesn’t sit quite right, who starts to hum and whisper some catchy song. Eddie turns his sleepy gaze onto Steve as he shuffles around their room- watching quietly as he slips on his clothes, his shoes, a simple chain with Eddie’s ring around his neck. A warm, affectionate smile breaks across his face. Before he leaves, Steve glances at what he expects to be a sleeping Eddie, but instead, he’s met with a rasped, ‘Hey.’ Eddie sits himself up, stretches his arm across Steve’s side of the bed, and reaches, fingers wiggling. Steve crosses the room to cradle his face.

Their foreheads press, noses bump, and Steve brushes his fingers across scars and dimples.

He breathes a quiet,

‘Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.’

Eddie huffs a tired laugh,

‘You know I never mind.’

Because, yeah.

Every morning Steve tries to stay quiet while he gets ready for work, but Eddie always hears him.

To be completely honest with you, I’m still neutral to them- but he looked pretty happy in the recent trailers!

Ok so I have to admit. I get like...structurally, why the staff would have soulbinding, because it does add a slight sense of urgency (although between the destruction of the Bloody Bridge and however much time it takes for a resurrection, should there be one, unless Ludinus stashed a clone on Ruidus or the spell takes effect there, I think there's a decent amount of time before he returns). But it is kind of annoying, especially given that Matt notably made resurrection more difficult than it is rules as written and that the games Critical Role/Darrington have put out have both had significantly reduced resurrection abilities, that these evil wizards just keep fucking coming back. The best way to put it is that it makes perfect sense, doesn't compel me though; I think it's pretty widely agreed that Delilah has long since worn out her welcome and Ludinus is pretty much at that point as well. Trent was actually quite interesting in that immortality really didn't seem to be on his radar; Halas is fun because his prolonged existence is the result of someone fucking with him; and the Kryn dynasty is a refreshingly neutral approach to arcane immortality. And more generally I think that while there's a benefit to having villains appear, absolutely wreck the heroes, and for the heroes to learn about them and pursue them and ultimately defeat them, it really is a case of diminishing returns. My potentially unpopular opinion is that I do not in fact find the Iron Shepherds arc to be abrupt or cut short: this group kidnapped three members of the party, killed another, and then the party destroyed them. Three beats. Absolutely perfect. Another would have drawn it out too much. And yeah now that we've heard Ludinus's backstory and the party doesn't seem inclined to dig into any details that would be interesting anyway, and they're either doing what he wanted to do anyway or else will presumably destroy or drive away Predathos, it's like this bitch is still out there? what's the fucking point.

Strengthening your stabilizer muscles is so good for your bones and posture! It doesn't mean accidents don't happen, as we will all decay in time, but it definitely helps me draw all day and night without crumbling into dust 👌

ngl I've been increasingly struggling with the use of feminizing language and "but make them women" stuff in my main fandoms, all of which are about queer Asian men. It's always bothered me but I feel like it's bothering me even more now, and I'm not sure if that's because it's become more prevalent or if I'm getting more sensitive to it. I just can't help but want to point out, like...

1. If yall want women and lesbians... you know there are fandoms... with women and lesbians... right? Women and lesbians are great! I'm begging you to go read stories that actually are about them.

2. Like seriously if you want stories about women why are you in the gay guy bl fandom

3. White fans please unpack why you think that lithe Asian gay man needs to be a woman, needs to be pregnant, why you are calling him breedable, or babygirl, or malewife. Like I am begging people who do this to spend five minutes considering why they do, why you think it's okay, why it's maybe different than saying even the same things about white people, like yall just collectively forgetting decades of racist feminizing language weaponized against Asian men.

I'm not saying anything I haven't said before but it's just been really A Lot recently if I have to see one more post about any MXTX character needing to be a breedable malewife maid I'm going to scream.

Also note like... this isn't about any specific fan having a preference. People like mpreg. People like gender swaps. That's great! I support an individual's preferences! It was shown how little Dante asked when they will see dad. But damn, this is obviously a question from a child who is WAITING for his dad, not one who has never known him (you yourself really have never waited for your parents to return from somewhere and have not asked such questions?)

I've been thinking about the reason why the arbitrator comes out of the blue on RT's ship.

Wild guess:

It turns out that Theodora didn't pay taxes for a very long time, so now RT has to bear the arbitrator's presence in her retinue till she pays off the debt. It also explains why RT (at least, my Lynette) always desperately loots literally everything and why her first words when she arrives at any destination are often "Is there money to be made?"

OCD I feel is a good demonstration of how the fine line between “sane” and “not” isn’t even a line at all, it’s more like a big gradient or maybe even a big nebulous sphere we all exist in.

Someone with anxiety (relatively normalized and tbh romanticized these days) might fear crowds because what if they are seen and scrutinized and judged? And maybe some breathing exercises and rationalization might help- maybe the phrase “everyone else is too worried about themself to judge you” might actually do something, if they can truly internalize it. Someone who experiences delusions (very much demonized) might fear crowds because they know that each of their thoughts will be broadcast and everyone else will witness them and mentally converse with each other about it. It WILL happen and nothing can convince them otherwise.

And then OCD (often misinterpreted as being less of a disorder than it really is- see "letting the intrusive thoughts win"- so someone’s condition being worse than everyone expects is generally poorly received) might cause something that can be placed somewhere in the middle- they fear crowds because what if there is a mind reader amongst them? And they tell themself that that’s ridiculous because mind readers don’t exist and if they did we would know by now but what if? And they tell themself that there is an easy way to tell if mind readers exist in the vicinity- if they scream really loud mentally and someone reacts, that means they do exist. If not, it’s probably safe. And therefore periodically they must think a sudden scream, not too often so as to not be predictable, and oops! Now it’s a compulsion attached to the mindreader obsession and they can’t handle going without it. Maybe it gets even more elaborate over time as the strength of the rituals fades, like, oh, one scream is not enough, it must be done three times to really be sure.

Do you know how common it is for those with OCD to have schizophrenia (the idea of it) as an obsession? Surprisingly common- or perhaps, not so surprising, considering the culture surrounding saneism and that perceived harsh line that divides the “normal” people from the ones with psychosis. Everyone thinks it could never be them, because they are two entirely different categories of people, right? For OCD, someone might latch onto an obsession they know is ridiculous except they can’t get themselves to stop taking it deathly seriously and so they wonder, am I slipping? Are these really thoughts a sane person could have? And so they remind themself that people with psychosis do not regard their delusions in the same way they are regarding their own obsession, and so, no, they can’t be slipping. And thus frequent personal reality checks become the compulsion. Idk what the point of this post really is, maybe it's just that instead of a checkbox you either check or don't, sanity is more like a color picker thing
