why do I keep getting surprised when I learn that people don't know about the "Share" button on the top of AO3 fics that will create a tumblr post (or a tweet) with all of the relevant information about the fic (ship, characters, rating, tags, word count, summary, etc) and add a link all neatly formatted for you?*
*the Share button is at the top of every fic unless the author has selected the "Hide the share buttons on my work." option enabled in their privacy setting, so you can use to promote your own writing, or even recommend a fic to your followers.
I mean, look how easy this is:
step 1: find a story you want to share and click the "Share" button at the top:
Tumblr media
clicking that button will create a pop-up that looks like this:
Tumblr media
step 2: you can ignore the html in the text box; you don't need it for this. instead, click the "Tumblr" button, and (if you are logged in to your tumblr account) it will create a tumblr post that looks like this: (*this auto-generated post will automatically use tumblr's default color palette for the preview regardless of what you have your preferences set to*)
Tumblr media
step 3: if you like the way the post looks, just click "Post". (*if you have more than one blog, make sure to double check that you are posting to the correct blog before you post it!*) or if you want, you can add an author's note to the post, maybe add a photo or a teaser of the story, or make other edits to it before clicking the "Post" button. the choice is yours.
it's so simple, and only takes a few seconds to do. it's literally just three button clicks: "Share" -> "Tumblr" -> "Post". you don't have to worry about forgetting to add important info about a story in your tumblr post; or rack your brain trying to figure out which information you should include; or even figure out how to format the post to make it look neat and easy to read.
one thing to note: if you (or the author you are recommending) have your fics locked for AO3 users only, the link at the top of the tumblr post will look like this instead:
Tumblr media
other than that, the rest of the post will look the same as above with all of the relevant story information, minus the fic title and author name which are normally displayed in the link preview. you can manually add that missing information to the post yourself before sharing, so your followers will know what story they are clicking on.

Okay so this has been something I've been chewing on for a long while. About making this post I mean.
This one is to those who actively ingest fanfiction but seem to think it's okay to just read free fiction that people have put time and thought and crafted prose for your enjoyment and do nothing in return.
All we ever ask for and all we ever want is for y'all to AT THE VERY LEAST hit that kudos button if you like the work. That is the BARE MINIMUM of what you SHOULD be doing. Especially all of you who say you're too nervous to comment or don't wish to be perceived. And if you don't want your account on the list, you can log out and send a guest kudos.
But as I said, BARE MINIMUM. If you loved the fic, if you got something out of it that left you feeling good and energized (or whatever angst does for y'all) then I want to take a moment and strongly urge you to comment, subscribe (if a wip), and bookmark those works. Did you know there's an option to even mark it as a Fic Recommendation? You can put notes in to and say why you liked it and things like that (DO NOT DO A RATING IN PUBLIC BOOKMARKS HOWEVER). And, you can indeed make them private! The writer still gets the number added to their stats but your bookmark we won't see.
Anyway, I now wanna turn your attention to Exhibit A:
Tumblr media
This is a list of my best performing fics. Do you see the problem with this? The green highlights are the hits I've received for those fics. The red is the Kudos and comment threads. Now the kudos is obviously right?
Let's look at my number one fic right now, Accidentally in Love (a Malleyuu fic from Twisted Wonderland fandom). It's the seventh fic in a romance series. As you can see, it's doing great as far as hits, right? And I know it's an amazing fic from the comments I have received and just from rereading it myself. Note, I am probably the biggest bully to myself as @sunshineandteddybears and @mellosdrawings and @romantichopelessly can tell you in great detail. So when I am saying it's really damn good, you can probably trust it's gonna be pretty damn good. And yet, a fic that has 4K hits only has 119 kudos. And now to bring your attention to the comment threads. So honestly with how bad readers are on actually commenting (which by the way if you log off you can send anonymously as a guest—you'll have to put in your email address but we authors won't see that)... 107 seems pretty good right? But you guys don't see that. You see what's on the info for the story. Unfortunately, on the fic info at the top of the story, it counts every single comment (including the Author's). (The comment threads is just every single starting comment, i.e. the first comment received from each commenter.)
The thing is, I—and probably quite a few other writers—do respond to every single comment.
So that means where the info on my fic itself says 230 comments, in reality, I'm at half that when I subtract my half of the comments. So that's actually 115 comments from other people. So some people might see that 230 and think oh they got a lot of comments so I don't think they want to hear from me or I can't be fucked and they're already doing good so.
NO. NO. NO. Do not look at the numbers as a guide if a fic is good or not. Do not look at the numbers and think that we don't need or deserve to get any more. And finally WE WANT TO HEAR FROM Y'ALL.
Excuses need to stop.
Speaking of numbers. Here's my over all stats current on AO3.
Tumblr media
In the 3 years on this AO3 account (I've had others in the past and accounts on ff.net and live journal. I'm an oldie fanfic writer lol. 21 years of fanfic. My gods. 🤣) It didn't used to be like this guys. Back in the day I'd get 12 plus comments on a chapter and this is on stuff a teenager wrote.
We have got to get back to the point of supporting each other and building each other up. Also while I'm at it, I have a huge beef with the fact that fanartists get so much more positive feedback and replies and comments, but the thing is, even their numbers are skewed. You can go into the notes of a fanart on here that has 10k notes to see they have maybe 100-1K reblogs (if that, I'm being generous) and maybe 10 or so replies (if turned on) and the rest are all likes. EVERYONE has been on here long enough by now to know that likes do nothing to get a post in the algorithm and tags only do so much. Reblogs are the only way their art (or our fanfictions for people who post them on here) gets seen! By sharing!
So y'all gotta get better. Yes, we write for ourselves first, but ultimately a story is meant to be shared with everyone and feedback should not be optional if you're actively reading the fics or viewing the art for free and enjoyed it!
TLDR:
IF YOU FUCKING LIKE A FANFIC. KUDOS AT THE VERY LEAST BUT BE BETTER. COMMENT. BOOKMARK. SUBSCRIBE IF IT'S A WIP YOU LOVE. (Like, comment and reblog if on Tumblr)
IF YOU FUCKING LIKE A FANART ON TUMBLR. COMMENT. LIKE. REBLOG.
DO BETTER AS READERS AND US WRITERS AND ARTISTS WILL GIVE YOU THE WORLD (AND MANY OTHER WORLDS TO BOOT)
That is all. Please reblog the fuck out of this if you agree.
(and tagging my current and last fandoms so this can get in fandom spaces where it needs to be.)

IT HAS ARRIVED
To celebrate the anniversary of Tears of the Kingdom's release, and to revisit Hyrule, we have put together a FREE 127-page cookbook zine for fans to enjoy. Link to downloadable PDF at the bottom.
About the Zine
The goal of this zine has been to imagine and capture snapshots of Link and Zelda’s internal and external journey between Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. One of the central mechanics in both games is cooking; you cook to stay alive, you cook to improve your abilities, and you cook to forge relationships with other characters through side quests. We wanted to centre this mechanism, so decided to frame the zine as Link and Zelda’s joint travel journal.
In these pages you will therefore find a collection of short stories, small illustrations, and numerous recipes. Our team has been hard at work, collaborating and developing ideas to flesh out Link and Zelda’s journey.
Each short story is written from either Link or Zelda’s perspective. They are part narrative, part journaled notes. You will find that they have been given each their font to represent their writings. Zelda’s is the more refined one, while Link’s is the more sprawling one. I’m sure you will see the difference.
You will also find small notes and letters from other characters – notably Tulin, Teba, Riju, and Kilton – as well as an excerpt from the Lucky Clover Gazette.
The recipes themselves have been fashioned as though they were written by Link and Zelda. This does mean their fonts have been used, but we hope any difficulty in reading it is forgiven on the basis that the overall conceit of the zine is preserved. Should there be a great demand, we may look into creating a second edition using friendlier fonts.
As for the illustrations, these have been created both with the goal of illustrating the dishes – and processes where necessary – and to imply that Link and Zelda also illustrate their journeys.
All our artists, short story writers, and recipe writers have come into this zine with different skills and abilities. There may therefore be subtle differences in styles, which we have chosen to retain to exhibit each contributor’s personal flair.
Finally, I want to thank those who have contributed their time and skills to the creation of this zine: Alex, Cenza, Deldon, Mina, Rose, Sam, Scarlet, Terek, and Mr Theodore. It’s been a pleasure working with you all on this project, and I look forward to the next time our paths cross.
Thank you.

Print Files Instructions
These files have been formatted for an A5 Linen Wrap individual print through Lulu.com. The current listed price is £24.23 | $30.34 (shipping not included).
To give the illustrations a chance to shine, we recommend printing with Premium Colour on paper 80# White. To get your print copy, follow these steps:
Create an account with Lulu.com. It's completely free. If you already have an account, simply log in.
Go to 'Create' in the top bar and select 'Print Book'.
Click 'Start my Print Book'.
Under 'Select a Goal', choose 'Print Your Book'. Follow the remaining instructions on the page and press 'Design Your Project'.
Under 'Interior File Upload', upload the interior files found in the downloadable Print Files Folder (see above). This should automatically fill in book size and page count.
Under 'Interior Color', choose 'Premium Color'. For a cheaper print, choose 'Standard Color'.
Under 'Paper Type', choose '80# White – Coated'. For a cheaper print, choose '60# White'.
Under 'Book Binding', choose 'Linen Wrap'. The cover has been designed specifically for this and is not compatible with any other binding option.
Select your choice of colour for linen and print. We recommend tan (linen) and gold (print). These are the colours that will be on the linen wrap, underneath the paper cover.
Under 'Cover Finish', select 'Glossy' or 'Matte' according to your preferences. This makes no difference price-wise. We recommend 'Matte'.
Under 'Book Cover Design', upload the cover file found in the downloadable Print Files Folder (see above).
You should now be able to see a preview under 'Book Preview'. Check that you are satisfied with the result and select 'Review Book'. This will take you to a page from which you can order your individual print copy. Due to the size of the file, Lulu may take a few minutes to process the files before you can place the order, but this should take no more than 10 minutes. Simply go have something to eat, then refresh the page when you return and you should be able to order your copy.
Happy cooking!

hiatus announcement 2: calmer this time
i’ve had time to think.
i want to thank everyone for being patient with me during my silence while i’ve tried to figure out the future of this account.
i promise you i’ve read each and every one of your kind and supportive asks and dms and replies, of which there is an overwhelming amount (on ao3 too!). i’m choosing not to reply to all of them at this time, but just know that i appreciate each and every one of you who has taken the time to reach out.
the day after i made my initial hiatus post (since deleted), i spent about three hours at the gym in an attempt to burn off some of my anger 💀 i highly recommend it tbh. it put me in a much better headspace for the rest of the weekend to sit down and write this post.
although i’m obviously heartbroken about the reason for this hiatus, i do think it’s coming at a good time, all things considered. i’ve mentioned before that i’m getting married in june, and i think that it’s time for me to focus the majority of my energy on getting the planning for that done.
so, here’s where i’m at: i am going to be gone until mid-june. gone meaning completely logged out of this account. touching grass to the fullest extent, because i really think it’s necessary for me to remind myself that i have an entire life outside of kpop. friends and family and a loving fiancé who all deserve my undivided attention during what is meant to be such a happy and important time in my life.
after i get married and bts reunites, i will check back in. reassess where we are re: accountability. if no statement has been made, i’m probably going to continue my silence until bts releases new music. and then i’m going to scour the credits and look for the names of anybody affiliated with vendors/yijeong. and then i will reassess again.
bts have been such a huge part of my life since 2017. eight years! i have devoted eight years to loving and supporting these men. but it gets to a point. i have to draw the line somewhere, i have to take a step back and really look at their actions (and lack thereof) in recent years and decide if these men reflect my values and morals. that is a personal journey for me and i do not begrudge anyone for not doing the same. especially if you’re younger than me. i know that if i had been put in this position a few years ago i would’ve reacted very differently.
so, let me clear some things up from my initial post. i was angry when i published it, and i know for a fact some things got lost in translation. you can agree with me or not, that’s your prerogative—and as someone pointed out in the replies, this is a public forum. you have a right to disagree with me publicly. just know that from this point forward i will not engage. i know where i stand on this and i don’t have the time or energy to fight strangers on the internet about whether or not bts are infallible.
bts have built their careers on being capable of change. on humbly owning up to their mistakes and doing the work to unlearn their own biases. on educating themselves. on speaking out about misogyny, racism, international issues that many other kpop groups don’t dare to touch on. we have seen this time and time again. it’s what made me love them in the first place.
but the thing about change is that it has to be consistent. it isn’t a one and done type of deal. and in recent years, they have accepted collaborations and associated with people that, in my opinion, completely contradict their message as a group.
i’m in no way asking bts to be perfect. they are humans capable of mistakes and lack of judgement. i’ve given them the benefit of the doubt over and over again. to be completely honest with all of you, i still AM, although i’m taking a much larger step back this time around. but the bottom line is this: they work with loud and proud zionists like scooter braun and pharrell and benny blanco. jimin was featured on a song with kodak black, a convicted rapist. hoseok collaborated with don toliver, an accused rapist.
and now, they are closely associated with jang yijeong/el capitxn, whose company that he OWNS collaborated with kanye west. a nazi. on a song with a klan hood as its cover, on an album about being a nazi.
and while i recognize that hybe/bts did not play any direct part in this collaboration, i don’t think it’s unreasonable to want answers regarding yijeong’s future with hybe. especially since yoongi himself spent an entire tour cycle calling this man his close, personal friend.
for those of you who think that i’m pinning all of the blame on bts, believe me when i say that i’m not. i am unbelievably disappointed in yijeong and dmed him when his story was still up to let him know as much. regardless of whether or not he ever sees it. and before anybody tells me (again) that he has posted an apology: i saw it. if you chose to accept it, again, that’s your prerogative. for me personally, i think that a collab with a nazi warrants something more thoughtful than a “we’re sorry if we made people feel uncomfortable.” i sincerely hope that yijeong has learned from his mistakes and will make better decisions moving forward, but these are actions that i personally can’t forgive, apology or not. i was never an el capitxn stan, and i will not be supporting him from this point forward.
when you buy a bts album, the money isn’t just going to them. it goes to the people who work with or for them, and some of that money IS going towards these peoples’ ideologies. even if bts themselves aren’t spouting zionist/nazi rhetoric, if they work with people who believe in those things, we are putting money in their pockets. whether we like it or not, the people bts choose to associate with DO say something about them, at least to me. and i truly hope they recognize that and choose to speak out. contrary to popular belief, they DO have the power to. as shareholders and partial owners of their company, they have much more power and freedom than the average idol group.
knowing what i know about yoongi as a person, it’s very hard not to give him the benefit of the doubt. in some ways i still am. but i need to hear some kind of confirmation that my gut is right. i still love him. i still love ALL of them. how could i not? i have since 2017. and knowing how self-critical yoongi can be, sometimes to his own detriment, i want to believe that he would be THANKFUL for his fans checking him about these kinds of things. the same goes for the rest of the tannies. i don’t think that i’m any less of an army for being critical of them.
army twitter is, of course, ignoring it. letting it blow over. refusing to recognize that their influence is huge and that THEY could force a statement out of hybe if they caused a big enough stink. i’ve barely even seen any tweets about the situation at all. but whatever. i saw/SEE the way they interact with boycotters. they see it as a betrayal to bts to let their numbers go down. bts have been politically active on the international level for nearly the entirety of their career, but these army clearly don’t care about palestine, so why would it be any different in regard to any other apartheid regime?
all of this is to say, we’ll see what happens. the future of this account is unknown at the moment. and that makes me unbelievably sad, but i’m doing what feels right for me.
this in no way negates everything bts has done for me in the past eight years. i am not villainizing them, nor holding them to a higher standard than i would hold any other celebrity i have invested my time, money, and emotions into. i am simply giving them time and space to prove that they are still the same seven men i have loved all along. maybe i’m wrong, but i think they would respect that.
i also recognize that 5 out of 7 members of bts are still actively in the military. i assume there are limitations on what they can say during enlistment, which is a big part of the reason that i am giving them TIME. everybody who loves bts is excited to see them together again! me included! i am not trying to overshadow that, but please understand that i need some clarity for my own peace of mind.
i want to close out this post by reiterating that i am in no way trying to force my opinion onto anyone. you don’t have to feel the same way as me. you don’t have to do the same things as me. you are your own person and how you view bts, how you consume their content, is entirely up to you at the end of the day. i am not here to judge anyone.
but i feel like i owe it to all of you to tell you where i stand on all of this, agree or disagree. i’ve built such a wonderful community on this account over the past few months, and i’m not ready to let it go. thank you to each and every one of you who has read my fics and interacted with me. i love you all, and i hope to be back soon.
edit: obviously if you’re reading this after 04/28/25, you know that i ended my hiatus early (or, more accurately, shifted to a semi-hiatus). that being said, the opinions i shared in this post still stand. i will continue to share my opinion as i see fit, and if that makes you uncomfortable, you are welcome to unfollow/block!

hello! i am new here so im sorry if this is the wrong way to do this! Just wanted to share that syat has kept me going through law school and finals so tysm for that!! i noticed the other day that it seemed to be missing from ao3 when i went to reread and was just wondering if it would be returning/continuing. no rush or pressure ofc!! thank you for all the feels :)
Tumblr media
omg hi honey!! you are so so sweet for this - I'm so touched syat could keep you company in a stressful time, that makes me so happy <3 (and omg, I hope your finals went well you smarty pants!!)
syat is absolutely still continuing (the next chapter is almost done!) - the reason it disappeared on ao3 is that I did recently make the (very unfortunate) decision to lock my fics on ao3 to be visible to registered users only, because ao3 was recently scraped for AI (without consent, ofc) and it was largely unlocked fics that were stolen (including most of mine, sadly). I didn't ever want to lock them because I don't like the idea of restricting them from folks who want to read them, but honestly I was just so sad to know my hundreds of thousands of words of my writing and time was stolen to train someone's ai that I decided to do it, at least for now. it's not a perfect system, but it's one little safeguard I guess, if that makes sense :,(
which means that sadly if you don't have an ao3 account (or aren't logged into your account), my fics aren't visible - but for registered users they are there! if you don't have an account, I'm so so sorry.
if you're willing to sign up for an ao3 account (ofc there is no pressure AT ALL to do so), you can join the queue for an invitation here - there is a bit of a wait, but if I've done my shitty mental math right, it looks like the wait is approx 10 ish days right now for an invite. (if you're unfamiliar with the system, you pop your email into the box on that invite request page, and when you make it to the top of the queue, ao3 will email you a direct link to register for a new account!! according to that page they are sending ~6k invites every 12 hours or so right now)
again - I am so fucking sorry about this. please know I take absolutely zero joy from limiting who can read my fics, and hopefully at some point I feel comfortable opening them back up to everybody again - but for right now, I'm going this way to try to protect some of my work from future scrapes in the small way that I can, and to protect what limited works were not stolen in this scrape as much as possible.
I really appreciate you reading syat & coming by to send this sweet comment so so much - it means the world to hear you liked the fic (and wanted to reread it, ahh!!) <3 I hope I'm able to to keep sharing it with y'all. you can always shoot me a DM if you wanna chat off anon - or pop by via inbox whenever :,) I'm so sorry about this, and ily <3

Heyo 。◕‿◕。
So Sibi I have 2 questions for u
Nomer een - I was thinking abt getting an ao3 account but I'm not too sure if I should so I was wondering if you could tell me a lil abt how the app works since your on it (I would look at reviews but I trust your review more (•‿•))
Nomer twee - how do you design your banners for your stories? Not your art, I understand that's your own creativity but like the other stuff where you sorta draw over or edit actual images
And also I'm sry to hear abt the housing market being a bish (ᗒᗩᗕ) all I can do is wish you luck with that, I'm sry ಥ‿ಥ
Question 1
I think AO3 is good for archiving your fics, but upon recent happenings and it allowing AI to STEAL THE AUTHORS' STORIES FOR TRAINING WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT I wouldn't even bother making one....engagement on AO3 will be significantly less than on Tumblr and you'll also miss out on the whole getting asks aspect you have on Tumblr.
If you still want to make an account, I can recommend that you set all of your stories to "private" (only people who are logged in can read your stories) so that AI can't steal them. And the second thing I would recommend you doing is to set the comments to private as well (aka only people with an account can comment), it will save you A LOT of trouble with negative/mean/hateful comments. Trust, I speak from experience, people on AO3 are lowkey a lot more vile than here on Tumblr which says a lot. See below
Tumblr media
And another thing I would recommend in order to stop people from plagiarising your stories (aka the lowest trash of human kind). Set a customised work skin. Just click on Create Site Skin and make one with this code:
#workskin * { user-select: none; -webkit-user-select: none; -moz-user-select: none; -ms-user-select: none; }
Tumblr media
And then whenever you create your story, make sure to select the "no stealing" skin. Seen below:
Tumblr media
In conclusion, if you don't mind very, very little engagement and you only want to use AO3 as an archive, I can recommend you getting one BUT make sure your stories & comments are set so that only people with an account can engage.
Question 2
I use Photoshop to make my headers & banners. For symbols, I use Illustrator (cracked versions ofc cause fuck Adobe, they also allow AI to steal their users' PRIVATE! as well as COMMERCIAL! creations. I would never support those assholes, so cracked versions without cloud access it is 💅🏻) As far as concept and design are concerned, it's based on my own ideas heheh <3 and for fonts, I either design one myself on Illustrator or I look for one here <3
Also, thank you so much for wishing me luck. I genuinely need it :(

If we already have registered Ao3 accounts and subscribe to your works, will we still have access? Thank you!
Yes! So to clear this up, in case anyone isn’t aware of how ao3 works on this front, you can have your works completely public, meaning anyone can read with or without an ao3 account of their own. That’s how we get guest kudos and comments. You can also, as an author, change the privacy settings so that only people with an ao3 account can see what you’ve posted, which is what we call “archive-locked” aka you have to be a registered member of the archive and logged into your account to see the fic and interact.
The general idea behind this is that scrapers aren’t going after archive-locked works as much, as evidenced by the latest scraping incident where it seems like only fully public works were targeted. Is it true? Don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m sure people who really wanted to would just make an account and still get to those works.
I have a lot of guest readers and commenters, so I’m still on the fence about doing this. But I know I’m not the only author who is considering this, and some have already done it, so making an account anyway (if you don’t already have one) might give you access to fics you love that have been locked.
This isn’t, like, me considering fully pulling my works from ao3. It would just be an extra layer of security to try to prevent them being stolen or shared with AI databases. So yes, if you already have an account nothing would change for you if this is the route I decide to go!

Signing off.
I never really thought I'd ever write a post like this and to be perfectly honest I feel a bit cringe for even making a thing out of this but I felt it necessary to address those of you who follow me and my writings.
In the last month I have been suffering severely from anxiety, waking up to what feels like a ball of dread clutching at my heart and being unable to shift it for the better part of the day. It's all come to a head as of late because I've reached a crossroads in my life where I've realised just how unhappy and unfulfilled I am. Truth to be told I really don't have any aspect in my life that I am happy with and for years I've dismissed myself and my own desires for the sake of others to the point where I have no self worth, no self confidence, and I just feel like a shell of a person. Realising that I can't go on like this, that I can't live the life I aspire to without sorting my mental health out, I've taken the first steps in getting counselling and in going to the doctors to be put on anti-depressants.
While I'm already starting to feel better, I've decided it's in my best interests to take some other steps going ahead; which is I'm logging off this account.
Don't get me wrong, this account has brought me fulfillment in the last two and a half years and I've had so much fun interacting with so many of you but as of late I've become very disengaged with Bridgerton. It's one of several of my hyperfixations which I have become anxious with in the last few weeks, in part because they are what I used to immerse myself in as a means to distract myself from a dissatisfying existence, but now I've decided to make a change in my life for the better, everything that I once used to bury my head in the sand has now essentially given me the ick. Bridgerton is just now one of several things that I feel the need to distance myself from in order to fully focus and concentrate on bettering my mental health as well as getting what I want out of life.
As much as I've taken pride in writing because of Bridgerton, my dream has always to one day publish a book of my own and I need to refocus my energies on writing my own original stories to have the chance of maybe being able to make that dream a reality. I would have so dearly loved to have been able to complete a whole host of WIPs (would have also loved to have been able to just focus on one story at a time but c'est la vie) and I can only apologise to anyone who's been hoping for an update from any of them.
You will still be able to read all of my works on AO3 (plus I've restored a couple I had previously hidden from view), and I won't be deleting this tumblr so all of my drabbles and various posts will still be here for you to browse and read at your leisure.
Though I'm stepping away from this account, I don't necessarily know if this will be forever. I might well end up in a better place mentally at some point and return with a healthier state of mind where I can enjoy Bridgerton again, and I would never rule out contributing writings again - however as it stands, I don't want to promise anything and taking care of my mental health is my main priority for now and the foreseeable future.
I also just wanted to take the opportunity to thank every single person who has ever liked, reblogged, and interacted with me since I joined. I had never previously shared any of my creative writing online and thought it would be nice if even a single person somewhere vaguely liked anything I had to share - but over the last two and a half years I've been given such a boost from the amount of people who have reached out and commented on any one of my silly writings. I don't think you'll ever understand just how much it has meant to me and the love and appreciation will stay with me forever.
That about does it, so thank you all for everything. I wish you all a lifetime of health and happiness.
Signing off,
Shinnie

"Harassment. Don't engage in targeted abuse, bullying, or harassment. Don't engage in the unwanted sexualization or sexual harassment of others. If someone is sending you unwanted messages, or reblogging your posts in an abusive way, we encourage you to be proactive. Report them, and block the hell out of them. And if someone blocks you, don't attempt to circumvent the block feature or otherwise try to communicate with them."
Is the mere act of reading a blocked blog harassment, as "don't attempt to circumvent the block feature or otherwise try to communicate with them." its under the rules of Harassment.
In your opinion, Is the act of reading a blocked block a cause for distress to the author enough that it should be avoided?
Is reading a blocked blog distressful to the person who blocked you?
another good question is anonymous interaction, unless the person knows its you, are you technically interacting with the blog, or do you have the new identity of "nonny" .
If your nonny your totally concealed. Unless "nonny" him/herself is blocked.
entertaining this in good faith, do not make me regret it.
If someone has blocked you, that is them saying that they do not want you interacting with them. that is them setting a boundary. it is up to you to decide whether or not you have enough respect for yourself and others to honor their boundaries and stay away from them. if you are block evading, I think it’s worth thinking about why…honestly to me it shows a) you’re way too attached to a stranger on the internet, who cares and b) for what it’s worth, I don’t respect you if you block evade. I’ve had multiple block evaders on my ao3 and on here and I’m sick of them.
at the same time, my blog is set to be viewable without an account, which means that block evaders can see it and send me asks if they’re logged out. that’s the agreement I entered into by running a public blog and keeping anons on. I don’t know who any of my anons are, and unless someone’s saying something really nasty I’m assuming that you’re all coming to me in good faith and will entertain whatever you have to say. I can’t control the behavior of others beyond asserting my boundaries and hoping people respect me enough to observe them. It doesn’t necessarily upset me to think that people I have blocked read my blog, it says a lot more about them and their character than it does about me.
my opinion on this however does not really matter. it is genuinely in the terms and conditions of tumblr that you just cited that if you are blocked, you should not read that person’s blog or block evade. if you are on this website, you are agreeing to abide by its rules even if you disagree with them, and that’s one of them. so I would encourage you to follow it.

you have killed me. I am now dead. My god. I’ve reread tell him that his lonesome nights are over, or I’m in the last chapter but I couldn’t wait to tell you wow. I’ve cried four times so far, i’ve been awake since 8 am and it’s now 10 lol and I am officially dead. You write those two brothers in a way I have never in my life seen and it makes me so attached to them as if I’m watching the actual show if that makes sense. It’s so beautiful and incredible and they’re so vulnerable and I’m crying now again writing this because I’m at the scene where Dean asks Sam to ‘hurt him’ and then Sam pulls away and Dean’s ‘nonono’ MY HEARTT. It’s clawed out and gone and it’s your fault (affectionately). I love their little life. Also, I wanna comment but anonymously on ao3… how does one do that because it only allows my username (I’m the same anon that sent the ask months ago (which is the reason I wanna do anon) about how mean people are on the internet these days tbh)
wow this is long. I’m now going to finish my reread and the rest of the sandman verse. Except maybe the threesome installation because I’ve already reread it three times— or never mind, we need the full experience.
Nonnyyyy! Hello again! I love yoouuuu! 😭
Tumblr media
I honestly just want to wrap myself up in this message and snuggle with it. Thank you so very much! 😭💖 That you enjoy the way the boys are written and that you connect with them so deeply makes me ecstatic. The open love and permission to be vulnerable with each other—with all the struggle it takes to get there, because I am also an angst fiend—is something I crave for them, so I went hard on it in this 'verse.
I'm also stoked that you've found it re-readable. That's always wonderful to hear. And given the length of this beast, impressive! 😂
I'm sure I've said it before, by the way, but I cry just as much while writing the emotional parts of my fics as anyone probably does while reading them, so it's actually pretty satisfying when people tell me they do. Sorry (but only a little. 🤭🤏).
Tumblr media
Regarding anonymous comments, you can definitely leave those! I encourage comments however anyone wants to leave them! It's just a matter of logging out of your account to comment anonymously (you still need to enter an email, but that's only used to receive replies [you could use a throwaway or a fake if you weren't worried about those]; it's not displayed or shared with the author). 😊 A bit annoying that you can't just select it as an option while logged in, but ah well. Not all authors allow anon comments, of course, but I currently do!
Thank you again for reaching out, nonny. Messages like this are really uplifting to me, so I'm super grateful. 🥹🫂 Enjoy the rest of your re-read and Happy New Year! 🥳🎇🎆
Tumblr media
Aaand since we're here... 😅 If anyone else is interested, you can check the Sandman 'verse out on AO3:
(If any of the warnings or tags concern you, I'm always happy to answer questions or share spoilery details so you can decide if the fics are right for you. 😊)

I have an Ao3 account, but after having to replace my tablet it won’t let me access the Reneeyanceywriter fanfics those with the blue lock. How can I fix this.?
Hi, this blog is not an official ao3 blog. If you have technical problems with your account, contact ao3 support. Here's the link:
Also, if you use an app for ao3, please know that there is no official ao3 app. All apps are from third parties and technical difficulties with them have nothing to do with the official ao3 website.
If the problem is with an app, I recommend getting off the app and opening ao3 in a browser instead (here's a link:)
And then logging into your account there. Fics with a blue lock are archive-locked, meaning you can only see them if you're logged in to your account.
This might not work with some of these apps (because they are garbage).
Third party/unofficial ao3 apps are made by scammers trying to profit from fan fiction (that writers on ao3 provide for free!) by data mining or showing you ads or even demanding pay. Also, think about if you want to share your reading history and log in data with people who have nothing to do with ao3. In short, don't use these apps (which I obviously don't know if you do, but this is meant as a psa for everyone).

Sacrificial Summer assignments are out!
You should receive an email in the address associated to your AO3 account.
To see your assignment, log into AO3, click your name on the top right, then click "My Assignments".
Remember:
You are only obliged to fulfil one of your recipient's requests
Technically you are only obliged to fulfil one ship + tag combination - of course, you should try to write/draw something your participant would like, which usually means following their prompt, but if the prompt is very railroady, you are not obliged to follow it
DNWs (Do Not Wants) are to be avoided
The deadline is Saturday, 14 June at 8 PM CEST
When you're done with your assignment, you can write/draw a treat if you want - an extra gift created for a participant who is not your assigned recipient.
If you find out you can't complete your assignment, please default ASAP by going to your "Assignments" page on AO3, finding this exchange and clicking "Default."
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me here or on Discord! I'm happy to beta-read for you, too (since I already know who y'all are writing for).
Put your glasses on! 😎 ⛱️ ☀️

Got an ignorant hate comment. Felt it deserved it's own post. It's a long one, and technically isn't doing anything productive as I blocked the person. I just like yelling into the void. Mind the tags.
Tumblr media
1) You're funny. I'm agnostic, and wasn't even raised christian. It's like an atheist saying "Oh my god" (this can't be real/that's ridiculous) or "God save me" (I'm doomed). "My brother in Christ", what would normally be a term of endearment and familiarity in a christian setting becomes very condescending and 'holier than thou' if said to any non christian (not just jews). Because of that, outside of a christian setting, it's now a term of sarcasm and mockery to point out someone's stupidity and ignorance. So the fact you jumped into a defensive standpoint, calling someone you know nothing about antisemitic over a post that wasn't even directed at you, tells me a lot more about your insecurities.
2) Yes, you're right! It is perfectly reasonable to not WANT people with an involuntary attraction to real life children to INTERACT with your work. But let me lay out a few things. Stop using that word, it does not mean what you think it means. Being attracted to fictional characters depicted as kids in a form of media that is (at least in a non indie setting) designed, and written by a team of adults, fudging up the looks and behaviors of their characters compared to reality to be more appealing to a wide demographic, is not pedophilia. Pedophilia is a mental disorder, where an attraction to children who can't consent is causing direct harm to yourself or those around you in your day to day life. This usually presents itself as crippling distress for the person with the disorder due to their intrusive thoughts, and fear of losing your friends and family should they find out about your disorder. By calling an attraction to fictional character depicted as children "pedophilia" you are doing what's called pedojacketing. Which is a false accusation against someone in attempt to rally others by appealing to their disgust to ruin the life of another person. It causes major harm by both trivializing a serious and often debilitating mental illness into a "voluntary perversion", while also trivializing the seriousness of child predator allegations by equating the sexual abuse of real, breathing children, to that of fictional story that never happened. Most predators aren't even pedophiles, they are attracted to the power imbalance and control, not the kid itself. But that's not what proship is, it's an ideology that people should be allowed to have their own space to enjoy whatever fiction they want without harassment or censorship. And guess what, that doesn't mean we aren't entitled to your space. If our ideology makes you uncomfortable, it's your right to block us and keep us from interacting with your art.
But get this, consuming and interacting are two completely different things. Consuming means you've looked at a piece of art, you watched a video, read a piece of literature, or played a video game. The moment you post something to the public, and not somewhere with restricted access, you forfeit all right to decide who can consume your media. AO3 is a public website, even if you choose the lovely option of only showing your work to people who are logged in (which anyone can get an account), you can't then decide who is allowed to view your work. When you post media publicly, it is impossible to discern every single person who has consumed your work. At best a site may have a "views" counter, or in AO3's case, hits, but it will always remain anonymous. As such, if you don't like the idea of a proshipper consuming your work, congrats, you will never have to know.
Interacting however means that you've consumed a piece of media, and are now making a public display about your consumption where the creator can see it, that individualizes them from the rest of the crowd. A comment, a post, if the media has a non-anonymous "like" function, or non-anonymous subscription/follow function. Most people are sane, and don't go out of their way to do background checks on every single person that interacted with their work. But if it comes to your attention that someone who makes your uncomfortable is interacting with your work where you can see it, then you have the tools to make it so you'll never be able to see or hear from them again. They will still be able to consume your public work, but now you've curated your personal experience.
But if you're so paranoid and disgusted by the idea that someone you find icky or gross might be able to consume your content without your consent, then you have to take responsibility for your own experiencing it and revoke your consent from the wider public by removing your content from a public platform.
This person was deluding themself into believing that consumption was the same thing as interaction and that the existence of a dni means it was the public's responsibility to regulate their online experience for them, and was getting upset at the realization that they can't regulate a public space the same way as a private one, and that people they don't like will be able to see their public work even if they will never know about it.

i’ve been a silent reader of yours for ages and was devastated to find that your works have been scrapped from ao3. I’m autistic and Bridgerton (Benedict in particular) have been a huge hyper-fixation for me and something i find comfort in. Are all of your fics available here on tumblr? or is there a way we’ll be able to access them again on ao3? i’m sorry if this has been asked before i’m trying to understand how this works.
so sorry this happened to you, sending much love 🤍
Hi Nonny
Hello it’s lovely to meet you 🫶 I’m so glad you get comfort from Bridgerton/Benedict and thank you for your kind words. 🥹
Millions of writers have been impacted by this incident and many have made a similar decision to me. I’ll try my best to explain it all for you.
Firstly, yes, every single one of my fics on ao3 are also here on Tumblr. You can find them all via my masterlist, which is the top (aka pinned) post on this blog. 🫶
Secondly, all of my fics are also still on ao3. I have just locked them to registered users. That means you will need to be logged into an ao3 account to read them. If you do not have an account, here is how to apply for one.
Essentially what happened was, my fics were stolen (aka scraped) to train an AI to write fanfiction and, it is believed, to monetise it. Just all around disgusting, predatory behaviour, stealing from fans to make a buck.
The only thing I can do to prevent this happening again is to remove my fics from public view. It makes me so sad i even need to. So, as a compromise, I am posting my fics as publicly visible at first, but then locking them after they have been posted for a month. It means people can read them initially, but long term they’ll need an account to do so.
I hope this explains it all, but always happy to answer more questions if you have them 🫶 Thank you for reading and speaking up after silently reading for months. It seriously makes my day to hear there are readers out there who enjoy my fics, it’s getting rarer to receive feedback.
So thank you and please feel free to message anytime 😁 Love back to you 🧡🧡

Hi. I seek advice. You draw your fandom art traditional style, and show them here on your Tumblr, yes? How do you do so without being plagued by the irrational feeling that you're exposing yourself naked when you do it? My drawings feel like private parts of myself and I feel like everyone can see through their skeletons whenever I think of showing them on my blog, even if I know this doesn't make sense. Or is it only me who felt like this? I do better when it's just one-on-one, but other than that, I feel shy for no reason. What do you think?
Also, drunk water and sleep early regularly.
I relate more to your feeling of exposing yourself and vulnerability with regards to the fic I write. They're a deep reflection of who I am, which makes me feel a little weird. So I post and log out immediately (I have a separate ao3 account for reading purposes) and try to forget I ever posted. I also try to remember that the people who engage with and enjoy my art/fics must relate to some aspect of it. Maybe they just like the pairing, or maybe they relate to the more personal stuff sprinkled within.
But to an extent I understand what you mean about art because I do not post the same stuff on any of my other social media (I post other art but I keep my fanart stuff strictly for Tumblr). I feel comfortable on here because from my experience the people are quite welcoming and nice, and ifl tumblr is one of those places where just by using it, you inherently have something common with all the other users (like... everyone out there would use something like Instagram, but ifl only specific type of people use something like tumblr???). That helps me not worry so much about how I'm being perceived.
I guess my point is that, even when I feel like I'm exposing myself through my drawings or writing, I trust my audience to not take advantage of that fact or to judge me for it (not that I care much about other people's opinions but it's obviously nicer not to have to navigate negativity in the first place)
OP, you don't have to do anything that stresses you out, but a lot of times things are scariest the first time you do it. And while I can't relate to exactly what you're talking about, hopefully there's something here that helps you out. Also this answer ended up being kinda long sorry LOL. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk more privately :)

Thanks to everyone who responded to my poll. Enough people said they were interested for the fix exchange, which means...
Sign-ups for this year’s Skulduggery Pleasant Fic Exchange are now open!
If you've participated before, feel free to head straight to the sign up page. Sign-ups close at the end of August, so make sure you fill in the sign-up form before then! Please let me know if you’re interested in signing up for a pinch-hit too.
If you're new to the fic exchange or just want a refresher, read on:
What is it?
A fic exchange is an event where you write a fanfiction for someone else and in return you’ll get a fanfiction written just for you. It’s basically a fandom Secret Santa.
For this particular exchange, you get to request 3-5 fanfics. A writer assigned to you will then pick one of these requests to fill. In return, you’ll be expected to write a fic that is at least 1000 words long based on someone else’s requests. As this is a Skulduggery Pleasant fic exchange all requests and fills must be related to the books in some way.
More information is available on the Rules and FAQ pages.
How exactly does it work?
Fill in this sign-up form before August 31st. This is where you list your requests and state what you will and won’t write.
You’ll then be matched with your recipient. You’ll receive 3-5 requests detailing what they’d like you to write. You get to choose which of these requests you fill.
Then it’s time to write! You get three months to finish your fic. Completed fics should be at least 1000 words in length, but can be longer if you wish. It should be based on your recipient’s requests.
Once you’ve written your fic, you need to submit it to the group. More info on how to do this will be given at a later date. All fics must be submitted by December 1st
On December 31st all the fanfics will be revealed. You’ll receive your gifted fic and your recipient will receive the fic you wrote them.
How do I sign up?
You’ll need an AO3 account to sign up. If you don’t already an account you can request one via this link. You can also message @bubblemoon66 for an invite code if you don’t want to wait for AO3 to send one out.
Once you’ve logged into AO3, fill in this form. There are two sections:
The first part is the request section. Requests are the fics you’d like someone else to write for you. You will have to make between 3 and 5 requests. At least one of these must be ship-free. Writers are allowed to choose which of your requests they’ll write.
The second part of the form is the offer section. This is where you say what you are and aren’t willing to write. I encourage participants to include as much information as possible in this section. E.G. It’s worth making a note of whether you’re underage, up to date with the latest books or uncomfortable writing other people’s fan characters.
Further instructions can be found on the form itself but if you need any help filling it in please message @bubblemoon66.
Is there anything I can do to help?
If you’d like to help, you can sign up to be a “pinch-hitter”. Pitch-hitters are people who agree to fill in for someone who drops out the last moment. It means writing two (or more) fics in exchange for just one. Pinch-hitters will have different deadlines and word limits to everyone else. If you’re interested in becoming one or want to know more please contact @bubblemoon66.
You can also help be reblogging this post and telling your fandom friends to sign-up for the exchange.
