shigegou, my luvz .
gary was goh’s first real rival, just like he was ash’s. he wanted both ash and goh to improve, showing that by being . . not the nicest, friendliest person. he’d done the same thing with ash already, and he turned fine, so, why not do it again?
when gary came back in jn068, ash noticed instantly. the last time he’d seen gary was 4 regions ago, and at that time, he didn’t even act like how he did now. he knew gary hadn’t ‘de-matured’ or anything, he just saw potential in goh that the latter seemed to waste. by this point, even though goh knew what he wanted to do on his journey, he was still unsure. and when he heard about project mew that morning, a group that would specifically work in going to find mew, he was still unsure whether to join or not. people, teamwork, a bunch of things he didn’t know how to do, it didn’t seem like his thing.
but then gary showed up, managing to change goh’s mind within what seemed to be half a day. he spent the day provoking him, teasing him on what ash would usually see as the littlest of things. called goh ‘weak’ and ‘undeserving of being ash’s buddy’ and everything that made goh wanna punch him in the face.
goh watched ash and gary bond, for the entire day. it was like their minds were perfectly in sync, something goh felt only he’d experienced with ash. ash and gary seemed like such good teammates, the perfect pair, even though he heard ash swear gary didn’t always at that way towards him. he said gary acted the same way to him in the past like he did to goh the entire day, something goh just . . couldn’t believe. even if he knew ash was telling the truth.
gary kept questioning goh, asking if he was even good enough to be ash’s buddy. stuff goh had thought about before but just ignored, of course gary asking it made him annoyed. goh hadn’t been on the same level as neither gary nor ash, and even if he didn’t see it, gary wanted him to be. he wanted him to improve, and get strong, and use his full potential.
goh ended up joining the project mew trial missions because of gary, just to ‘show gary he was wrong’. it was when goh realized gary only acted like that to get him to join, though he didn’t understand why. why this random guy who used to be his best friend’s rival just . . . showed up out of nowhere, all to get him to join.
gary’s next return was short, but goh still remembered it. right before his first trial mission, gary showed up just to provoke him again. goh didn’t know why the small actions made him so fucking angry, especially when he knew ash didn’t mind if his buddy was significantly less strong and experienced than him.
he didn’t show up for another 31 episodes, goh completing multiple trial missions in the meantime. gary knew goh had been improving, and quick, but still wasn’t used to working with other people.
throughout jn102, the raid battle with articuno takes place. goh reunited with tokio, after 70 episodes, and hated that he ended up reuniting with gary as well. during the battle, goh took the ‘leader’ approach, told people what to do even if his decisions weren’t calculated. gary noticed instantly, pushing himself as the leader instead so goh wouldn’t keep doing whatever he wanted. gary took his time while thinking, something he wanted goh to see as an example.
goh was annoyed, of course. he knew why gary was doing what he did, but hated how the latter was just . . better than him. at researching, battling, even catching pokémon. even if tokio reassured goh that he was still doing great, and he’d make it into project mew with just a little more practice, gary wasn’t having it. he told tokio that being kind could bring the worst possible outcome, and that goh shouldn’t be holding back just because people say he’s already the best of the best.
gary reminded goh that, even if they did complete the trial mission together, they weren’t friends. goh had so much to learn before possibly getting into project mew, and goh knew it too. they declared each other as equals, they knew they were on the same path, but had different ways to get to it. they looked looked forward to seeing each other next time, eleven episodes later.
both gary and goh ended up taking their final trial mission alongside each other, at the split-decision ruins. they finally had a civil conversation with one another, after what felt like almost forever, as they learned each other’s goals. even if they did know why the other wanted to join project mew, though, they still couldn’t work together.
they both wanted to catch the legendaries first, trying to solve the puzzle before the other even had the chance. they were still rivals, still acting all petty to each other. when neither of them got anywhere with that, they finally decided to just . . work together. for once. they’d need to do it even more if they both got into project mew, anyways.
their battle with the two legendary pokémon was what made them realize each other’s full potential. even if goh didn’t give it his all, gary knew he could. why goh continued to hold back, he didn’t know, but he knew goh realized exactly what he could do. goh realized gary wasn’t all ‘annoying, teasing, know-it-all’ like he thought for so long, but some guy with amazing wit and strategy that wanted them both to be on the same level.
even though they didn’t really have big interactions after jn113, they remained rivals. not annoying, narrow-minded rivals, that didn’t know anything about each other anymore. they could work together, as acquaintences, even. and i love them.

Pokemon sun moon hapu

#Pokemon sun moon hapu trial
#Pokemon sun moon hapu trial
This is particularly noticeable considering that this Grand Trial was a one against one battle, meaning not only that Ash's choice of Pikachu couldn't have been mitigated by using Rowlet in an earlier round, but it also begs to question why Hapu was given her Golurk in the Anime if ultimately it wasn't used in a Grand Trial, also leaving unsolved the defeat Pikachu got from it which initially spurred Ash to challenge Hapu in the first place.Īnother big part of the issue is the way Ash ultimately won the battle, which I have mixed feelings about. Yes, Ash has had several bone headed decisions throughout the Anime's history in terms of type compatibilities, but in the previous show, Ash always tried to exploit some form of type advantage even when the matchup was unfavorable (Frogadier/Greninja at least having Aerial Ace to deal with Grass-types, for example), so him choosing deliberately a Pokémon that couldn't use half of its moveset under normal circumstances and whose two other major attacks are all unfavorable to use makes it seem like he was deliberately giving himself a handicap for the match, which makes his subsequent difficulties and triumph come across as artificial, because there was literally nothing preventing him from using Rowlet, a Pokémon that for all its sleepiness has proved to be a reliable fighter, with its only focus episode before this was about him becoming more serious as a battler. Now, I'll reiterate that I think for the most part, this battle was better constructed than Nanu's, since Ash's writing during the battle stays rather consistent and the emphasis is on the fight, but at the same time, the biggest issue of this episode, from which all other issues with the battle come from, is the fact that Ash consciously decided to use Pikachu in a battle against a Ground-type Pokémon. This battle, however, also had plenty of stuff that left to be desired, unfortunately, even excluding the typical SM issues of some commentary breaking the action too often, spotty battle animation and the fact it only took half the episode. It was an appreciated course correction, if nothing else. In general, this is a far better Grand Trial than Nanu's, and one thing it does do well is highlight Ash's typical out-of-the-box thinking which I felt was being shafted a bit too often recently in favor of Z-Move usage, while here the Z-Move was used more for firepower than as the end all be all way of solving the battles. I'm not the biggest fan of Electro Ball getting replaced by Electroweb, but to the writers' credit they've managed to find some clever usages of it the few times we've got to see it in action. Speaking of atmosphere, it was also pretty nice to see the final Grand Trial take place at night given how rarely we get these kinds of battles, and while the battle was just a one against one bout, it did have some nice Z-Move animation in Tectonic Rage (which managed to preserve most of the Earthquake-like characteristics of it), and made decent use of strategy, with the usage of Electroweb as a safety net being a particular standout for this battle. So, does this battle give us a clash befitting the end of the Island Trials? To put it simply, it depends on what you feel about the battles of this Anime and how they should be.įor the good points, while the episode does take quite a while to get to the battle proper and could've probably used a bit of trimming, it is paced nicely on a macro scale, the extended version of Hapu's ritual to be formally accepted as an Island Kahuna was suitably atmospheric and befitting of Alola's status as a traditional region, and the beach scene did have at least a purpose in terms of setting up Ash's eventually victory strategy. SM's track record with battles has been rather spotty, to put it mildly, but with this being the final Grand Trial, there was a certain amount of expectations placed on this episode. With this episode, the Poni Island arc finally concludes, finally reaching the Grand Trial battle that was Ash's main aim throughout this arc.

(Gary anon) Ah well, hopefully both get the endings they deserve. (Feels like the reactions were more to do with fans' hope for Bede being dashed than the idea of Gary having a Pokemon like that. xD Most gravitated to Tyranitar quickly, besides being another Blue reference, and were upset that it didn't get to do much. It's not my first Galar choice either, but I'm not complaining. {If he's getting Drago, a Fairy-type makes sense} I do wonder if we'll get one more surprise out of him, )
.
(Part 2) (if he doesn't keep the Regi. Some stuff coming out about the Paul episode is confirming my theory about Electivire and Volkner) *More Paul episode leaks: He does have yet another capture, again nothing post-gen 4. The Garchomp IS apparently his, battle might be 3v3 rather than 1v1. Looks like it may be at Lake Acuity after all, with a few spectators from Oak's? Now from the interview: It's mentioned that he has matured and this episode will serve as a 'conclusion' to his and Ash's
(Part 3) Ash's rivalry. VA seemed happy to be back and enjoyed the script as well. (I'm glad they're going with this direction, like we thought they would. Same with Serena, if Paul had to come back, it should be character first before any battle, and that battle should have a narrative come with it than being mere fanservice) The interview of one of the longtime writers also went how they came up with Ash's innovative battle-style. (Some of which seemed obvious from a creative standpoint)
(Part 4) ({Ex: Using a Grass or Water against a Ground-type feels straightforward and too quickly handled/boring. Putting Pikachu against said Ground-type offer ways to think outside of the box. And boom! Welcome to how Ash works} Also went on the charm of having new Pokemon to explore, how he has Ash meet Pokemon at eye-level, and how adamant he feels about having Pokemon out and about during an episode, not only to see how they're animated, but make them feel alive)
(Part 5) (You can find the full thing on Twitter, if interested. Just search "Tomioka Atsuhiro") Considering the Masters 8 tournament has now reached attention outside the anipoke fandom, a definite Ash vs. Gary rematch just seems ripe for a big continuity finisher from a promotion standpoint. But we wait to see what happens first. (Speaking of which, they originally was just going to show only Ash's in full, while the other's were stills. Yeeeah, for something)
(Part 6) (that has basically most of the actives regional Champions, shafting them and their battling styles definitely wouldn't fly with fans. Especially when this could be the last time we could see it OR THEM) Showed a lot, but not too much. There are some banking on a gimmick coming later, if the Japanese logos are anything to go by. (That's how we figured out Megas, Z-moves and Dynamax, I believe. We have to get those Hisuian forms in some way too. Overall, exciting stuff)
(Part 7) Saw the episode: The leaks [and speculation] checked out. Hatty is confirmed and, did better than Tyranitar, I'll leave it at that. But Blastoise [and Cinderace] redeemed themselves after Moltres. Waiting for subs, this one was kinda wordy. Overall, episode felt kinda condensed, but served its purpose. No fighting from Gary and Goh either, just them understanding each other. The puzzle scene was amusing. (*Paul leaks checked out too. The preview shows all)
Hopefully!
RIP Bede I guess. And yeah, it makes sense if he's going to face a dragon-type to bring a fairy-type!
Oh? Interesting. A conclusion to their rivalry... I was fine with how it concluded in DP but that works! Should be interesting.
Yeah, it's good that the returns are being handled how they are.
Oh, interesting stuff! Love that. Need to go read that later, I saw it on Twitter yesterday but it was a lot of words I didn't have the amount of focus to read at the time.
Oh, definitely. There's a good chance at that for sure, it's too perfect to pass up.
Well it is a good thing they decided against that. I would not want to see the outrage from that on my Twitter feed.
Interesting! Yeah, seems some exciting stuff is coming up for sure!
I went and watched the episode as well! I enjoyed it all around, Goh and Gary's teamwork was nice to see, very much looking forward to when actual subtitles drop--I feel like there was some really important dialogue in there. Yeah, the puzzle scene was good.
Saw the preview too! Interesting, should be fun to see how that episode plays out next week.

FEATURE: Gary Oak Was Right
Tumblr media
“Gary was here! Ash is a loser!”
He didn’t need to do that. Gary Oak, grandson of Samuel Oak, one of the most famous Pokémon professors in the world, didn’t need to deface public and likely government-funded property solely in order to jab at his rival Ash Ketchum. But he did, because Gary doesn’t do anything subtly. He started his Pokémon journey by riding away in a convertible with a gaggle of cheerleaders. By the time Ash managed to get to Bill’s lighthouse, Gary had caught 45 Pokémon in comparison to Ash’s measly seven.
Tumblr media
Just for the sake of comparison, if you're basing our numbers off Pokémon Yellow, which is adapted a little more directly from the anime, you know you can catch 17 Pokémon before you reach Bill (without evolving them?). Even if Gary was miles ahead of Ash — which he doesn’t seem to be, as he shows up in the same town as Ash in the previous episode — he is training harder than any trainer reasonably could have and catching more creatures than he needs to. But he is no ordinary trainer. He is Gary Oak. And I gotta be honest, for the most part, Gary Oak is right.
RELATED: How Much Do You Know About Pikachu?
In another world, Gary Oak would have his achievements explained away as the result of some kind of moral deficiency. He would be a blend of clumsy trickery and desperate nepotism. But like his game counterpart Blue — or Green, if we’re talking about the OG pair — he doesn’t use underhanded tactics, nor does he try to cheat and manipulate. He’s just really talented and really loud about it. It’s likely one of the things that frustrated Ash the most in the early years of the anime. If Gary was dishonest in any way, Ash could claim the ethical high ground. He can’t, though. “Oooh, that Gary!” he seethes, unable to come up with a way that Gary is actually wrong about any of his boasts.
Tumblr media
It also doesn’t help Ash’s case that Gary beats him in battle during their first match. After winning the Orange Islands championship, Ash and Gary duke it out in a long-awaited duel, but Gary’s Eevee absolutely runs through Pikachu and all Ash can do is follow Gary into the Johto region. Ash finally gets his win back during the Silver Conference, but once again, Gary doesn’t try to pull anything nor does he get connivingly desperate at the end. Instead, after the match, he opens up and talks about why he takes not winning so harshly and even acknowledges Ash’s good work.
RELATED: The Pokémon Anime Is Still Important To The Franchise 25 Years Later
Gary also shows emotional growth and perspective in ways that some other characters could never. At the end of the original series, Gary reveals that he doesn’t want to be a Pokémon trainer anymore. He wants to be a researcher. For someone who can’t stand not being the best all the time, it’s a pretty solid judgment of self — though one could argue that, dude, it’s just Pokémon. Get over it. Though Ash Ketchum is certainly commendable for his ability to be knocked down and get back up, Gary Oak realizing that what once was his dream doesn’t quite hold the same appeal for him is fairly mature. Especially when you compare him to the kid who once had a whole cheerleading squad follow him around to make sure  his every move was received like a touchdown.
Tumblr media
When we discuss Gary Oak, it’s often in a nostalgic sense. He harkens from a time when Pokémon rivals, especially in the games, tended to be a little rougher around the edges. The series would pivot to folks who just wanted to have friendly tests of strength every once in a while rather than someone who insulted you whenever you happened to randomly walk in on them.
Gary Oak definitely could have pulled the reins back on being mean to Ash a little bit, but he wasn’t wrong. Ash did have a lot to learn about training, and Pokémon in general, and Gary was very good at that stuff. And in Ash’s case, maybe it was good to have someone around pushing him to be better. If he didn’t, he’d still be that same kid oversleeping in Pallet Town.

Info dump #2 - Project Pokemon Lilac Region
All right, round two, this time a bit about personal projects and OCs, hopefully they’ll catch someone’s interest, if not I’m telling you anyway.
How the idea came to be: It all started quite a while ago, about 8 years if I remember correctly, back when the 7th generation of Pokemon had yet to come out.
I have been part of a forum for many years, unfortunately this particular instance of said forum is gone, and all data with it because of an error on the server hosting it, we used mainly a pokemon only forum, and one day someone made a topic named “create your own Pokemon region.”. At first I didn’t give much thought, thinking I’d add something to it maybe in the future, the day after, I woke up, and the person I was collaborating with messaged me, and demanded I’d give my opinion on the region he made up.
So I looked at his post and there were a lot of things. He made this entire region based on Italy (sort of), which is my country and not his, he made up most characters at first, except a few which he intended to dedicate to me. They were two that had my nickname or close enough, Sakura and Alexis, and then he added one of my first OCs after Sakura herself, Robin.
From this we went on making plans for months as we thought to turn this into a fanfiction. He did most stuff at first, regarding story and all, while I was more about (badly for the time being) drawing them.
We spent a long time also roleplaying these characters, giving them personalities and shaping them into proper ones, because neither of us like Mary Sues (aka really OP characters without flaws).
Unfortunately, not for either’s fault, we ended up falling apart on this for a while, he got busy, and so he left the thing, though I still show him stuff from time to time.
So really, this project belongs to the both of us more than just me, I’m just the one working on it, but he’s the creator.
The Region: As said, the region is supposed to be similar to Italy, minus islands, we thought about a battle frontier but it was a bit too much work and too many characters to add that we probably would never use. So it is just the main island.
I tried to give it the most variety of places as usually an actual Pokemon game would have, perhaps even a bit many, but nowadays we have a bit of a lack of interesting things. Or so gen 8 felt that way to me.
Also the naming was mostly done at the beginning, we thought a mix of modern with old would be great, as main cities are named in english (for the most part), while other places of interest have latin words. Italy is a rather old country.
I’ll post them another time.
The Pokemon: Unfortunately there aren’t any fakemons so to speak, would be too hard to do through a story even, so up until now there are Pokemon up to generation 8, it used to be generation 6 first, then 7, and with time 8. I sure hope not to have to add gen 9 too somewhere in there.
Same story for moves too of course, movesets are taken from Sword and Shield whenever possible, if not from the most recent generation.
Though there is a new typing, the shadow typing, but it’ll be explained on its own in due time.
As for mechanics I kept mega evolutions, I feel they would work okay since the neighboring region is Kalos, so from where they come from, but also I am neither a fan of Z moves nor Dynamax. I find those mechanics rather stupid, and also too OP since they’re open to any Pokemon.
Also, believe it or not, I had already thought to a mechanic similar to the anime styled battle bond between Ash and Greninja before it came out, for my Champion character, and also it is not some mere dumb ability. Also, later on I made it available not only to a single character anymore, because I felt that it doesn’t have to be exclusive.
I’ll explain it better another time.
The Characters: As I said the characters have been made by two people, and they will also have their own post, but, as a normal pokemon game, we have a protagonist, a rival, a professor, 8 gym leaders, 4 elite four, a champion, and an evil team. This should be the standard base no?
Most of these are OCs, but my friend wanted the appearance of some canon characters too, so there are a few of them, and all with a reason to be.
Typings were chosen right at the beginning and were never changed, just debated on Lavender’s mostly, we couldn’t decide what fit most to her, if dark or ghost and ended up giving her both. Before you say it's unfair, Blue exists and is a gym leader too.
Choices of names and appearance will have their own separate post, but suffice to say that for names, my idea, I thought I’d give them more personality if their last names were matching the language of the region these OC/canon characters came from.
Hope I made someone the least bit curious.

a lot of advanceshippers love to say such bs about Drew even to this day. Drew is not my favorite character & it’s fine to prefer advanceshipping over contestshipping and I kinda like advanceshipping , but some of the things they say are ridiculous! This is not bashing on all advanceshippers or advanceshipping in general, this is just some quotes (not exact) I’ve seen that I’ve had problems with.
”Drew is a jerk! Ash would treat her right!“
Tumblr media
Both would treat her just fine! Drew watches out for her & tells her when Harley is tricking her, saved her friends & brother when she was busy, saves her friends, cheers her up when she’s down, & they both calmly talk to each other when alone.
Besides, there are some things to point Ash being a jerk to her too! Ash yelled at her because he was butthurt he had no boat to get his next gym badge & skips out on watching some of her contest when May even watches him battle regular trainers.
And it’s not like May is an innocent angel herself. She yelled at Ash & Drew for no reason, had her torchic attack Ash, & forced Ash to agree to let her travel with him by bringing up her bike.
I know May & Ash have developed a lot sense than, but so has Drew & y’all are just stuck viewing him how he reacted at the beginning.
”May hates Drew & loves ash!“
Tumblr media
She doesnt hate Drew. At the very worst, she sees him as a friend & has seen him that way by “Who, What, When, Where, Wynut.” Like I said we seen them talk a lot when they run into each other & heck, she even ditched the group, including Ash as he was talking to her, to talk to Drew when she saw Drew. So tell me again how she loves Ash way more than Drew lol!
And in ”Spontaneous Combustion“ May blushes at Drew after he waved and walked off. May never blushed around Ash, even when some weird couple accused her of being Ash’s lover. And there was nothing in that scene that indicates her getting red met something else. She wasn’t sick, doesn’t look mad, didn’t do anything embarrassing, etc... so it looks as if she really likes Drew.
”Drew is a flirts with any girl & would cheat on May, but Ash would never cheat on her!”
Tumblr media
You people have nothing to back this up. Drew had fangirls gushing all over him? May being Norman‘s daughter and probably because she’s referred to as hoenn princess, has a lot of fanboys! In fact, Ash is more likely to cheat on May then Drew dispite him being oblivious, as Drew showed 0 interest in his fangirls & ran from them. If he was such a flirt, he wouldn’t run from fan girls, but would try & you know, FLIRT with them. Drew also showed 0 interest for other girls, & only teases May. You advanceshipper fanbrats (not saying all advanceshippers are fanbrats just the advanceshippers who think this) only pretend he is to make up reasons for May to reject Drew.
”He only likes May for her rack, & wouldn’t care for her if it was flat!“
Tumblr media
Talk about reaching. Drew only stares at her FACE! He never stared at them, & the anime gave her chest 0 focus. He isn’t just some creeper. Despite not being interested in her, he treated Breanna nicely & she was flat. He may just have puppy love/a crush on her, but saying he’s just trying to win her because of her rack is complete bs!
”Think about it, Drew & May would make ugly babies!”
Tumblr media
Based on what? Cuz Drew has green hair? As someone whose least favorite color is green (okay, okay dark/forest green is pretty), I think this is a stupid claim. Even with a weird hair color, there’s a chance the child could be cute, & really beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Hair color is NOT even close to a huge factor to what separates not ugly to ugly. And they don’t have to make babies if they do get together. They can just choose to adopt to help out those who need a home or just happily be with each other with no children at all.
”Drew is in less episodes with May than Ash, so advanceshipping is better & will be canon!”
Tumblr media
🤦‍♀️Misty has the most screen time with ash. By this cruddy ”logic,” Misty & ash (so far) are canon. Yes, misty has much more screen time with ash than May. Misty had all of Kanto, Orange Islands, AND Jhoto with ash... as well as a cameo with ash in Hoenn, and TWO separate cameos in Alola. And at this point, May could have spent more time with Drew. It’s been 4 regions that Ash hasn’t even thought of 1 of her Pokémon after all this time. I’m no pokeshipper, but let’s be real here.
And most of the time Ash & May are on screen, it’s them focusing on their goals/Pokémon. They cheer & encourage each other too, but it’s mostly friendship stuff. Could something happen later on between them to spark love? Sure. But nothing in the anime ever pointed to that. And you can literally say that with Ash and... ANYONE! Like Ash could grow up, met back up with Roxie & they could fall for each other.
When Drew appears on screen, you mostly see hard evidence for contestshipping, weather on Drew’s side, May’s side, or both. Yes, there’s evidence on BOTH sides that they like each other. At best, advanceshipping looks one-sided on May’s side. And even then, it mostly looked that way in the beginning of AG. There’s way more evidence that May likes Drew & vice vesa than with ash & May, even with “less contestshipping hints!“ A lot of hints for shippings are overblown. Not just advanceshipping hints, but poke/pearl/negai(actually never mind, negai is under looked & over hated)/amour/etc... are over blown & it’s just ash being his usual nice/childish self. With Drew, it’s obvious he likes her as how he constantly stares at her, teases her, gives her red roses (& says they’re for beutifly), etc... While I think I covered how May likes Drew enough already. And yes, this could just be a kiddy crush for the both of them, but in the end there’s still harder evidence that Drew & May like each other.
Plus there are a lot of canon fictIonal couples who had less screen time with each other than other characters. Naruhina, ichihime, Hinny, gochi, etc...
“Drew never saves May’s life, unlike Ash!”
Tumblr media
So? May never even tried to saved Ash, like she did with Drew!
Ash has also saved: Angie (who has a more confirmed crush on ash), Dawn, Pikachu (3x I can think of), Chinchar, Lillie (or at least attempts to help a lot of times), Celiebi, Erika’s Gloom, Serena, Misty’s sisters Pokémon, a ton of CotDs & their Pokémon...
And what of those who saved Ash? Misty, Sabrina’s... family photographer, Gary, Iris, Clemont’s father, Zeroara dude, a ton of officer jennys, Pikachu, a lapras, Paul, Drew (ya keep on hating him if it werent for him Ash Brock and Max would probably be dead in that crate Jessie, James & Meowth trapped them in so not even advanceshipping could happen).
“Rivals can’t be dating!”
Tumblr media
Where did you get this bs? Even in the pokeani IN THE AG SERIES this has been proven false. Watch Pasificlog Jam again. Who put you in charge of how couples should work anyways? If a writer wants to have rivals hookup in their story, than they have that freedom to have the rivals hookup regardless how upset you get over it.
“Ash & May kissed in a banned episode, so advanceshipping is canon not contestshipping!”
Tumblr media
Come on guys, they’re 10. The anime creators aren’t gonna have two 10 yr olds kiss on the lips. Its really creepy some person came up with this. No, it’s not creepy cuz I don’t like advaceshipping (I actually like some aspects of it). Again, it’s creepy because they’re 10. If they were like 13+ yrs old, it‘d be okay, but NOT 10. Plus, even Japan is very sensitive when having kissing on the lips happen with kid shows. Even with adults, they censor it/show something else as the kiss happens & just imply it happened. Expecally how they view kissing on the lips in the first place, they ain’t having 2 ten year olds kiss.
And there would be NOTHING to imply that they where going to kiss. Around this time this episode that they kissed claimed to happen (episode 357), Ash & co. where heading to fortree. Nothing ever was implied from the both of them even want to kiss each other. They just where supportive friends of each other with no hinting there where secret feelings or developing feelings from ether of them. Theres also nothing beyond that episode that implied the kiss happened. Because if it did actually happen, I’m sure something like that would impact the next few episodes, but nope no mention of any kiss nor do ash & May act any differently around each other in 358 and beyond. So even if it did happen, it was going to more than likely sink the ship, like it was some akaward thing they did because they were “under the mistletoe“ & afterwards just agreed to be friends & forget about it. The pokemon anime was always about friendship, adventure, and Pokemon themselves, never romance.
Also episode 357 is “Take This House and Shuppet!” not “A Kiss Under the Mistletoe!“ The Japanese episode is the same as the English barring names & episode number.
Were do you get such a sorce for this info? “my friend’s japanese friend who talked to the director of the AG anime & saw it!” or some other ridiculous unreliable garbage like that? Give me actual sources with interviews from the writers talking about this supposed banned episode. Bet you can’t, unless it’s fake & unreliable. If it existed, it would have floated up by someone from Japan. After All, even if for 20 mins that episode should’ve existed if it was just banned. Like “Electric Soldier Porygon” was banned completely & only aired one time in Japan. However, there are places that you can watch the episode despite it being completely banned due to putting a lot of children in the hospital from seizures. That was older than the supposed advanceshipping kiss episode as ’Electric Soldier Porygon’ is a Original Series episode in Kanto the 38th episode. No one can find this supposed advanceshipping episode nor is it even listed in the banned episode list. It should be harder to find this older banned episode than it should be to find this supposed banned kiss episode.
“Why should May choose Drew over Ash? Ash is like a literal god!”
Tumblr media
What? Yes, he’s befriended every legendary & come back though poketears, save the world so many times, has arua abilities (he rarely uses), & whatever else, but it’s not like he seems that BA or whatever. Ash not aging seems over focused on, when in reality NO ONE is aging. It took him 7 regions to win 1 league (a questionable one at that), can’t remember Pokémon he seen before & sometimes forgets what he learned, & needs saved by others sometimes. Some god, can’t even rescue himself. Besides, who knows what Drew has done on his adventures. Drew has also saved Ash, Brock, & Max from trouble, isn’t Drew awesome saving someone ”like a god!”? Drew also has beat him in a battle as well, is that y’all’s problem?
And where is Ash’s voice in all this? It’s like this in all this anti-Drew bs. “Drew is just this terrible creature who possesses all 7 deadly sins & is the creation of Giratina & thus May hates & so does everyone else! However... blessed by Arceus himself, we all just know not dense Ash Ketchem is waiting to sweep May off her feet & save her from the demonic spawn that is Drew who is lusting after her bewbs😡” (<-original ideas, do not steal jkjk). Like there’s NOTHING to indicate ash wants her. And do you think this of May as well? Like do y‘all think May is just this perfect, sweetest, most divine woman in the pokeani that only Ash “blessed by Arceus“ is the only guy that should be blessed by such an angel? 🤣
Look, I like Ash & I like May. But even with my favorite characters I wouldn’t go as far as to think so highly of them that it makes Helga’s obsession with Arnold look like nothing. And just because Ash is more amazing with more feets & whatever, doesn’t mean May has to love ash or that Ash has to choose may because Drew doesn’t measure up to him.🤷‍♀️ Just think about it, should Timmy’s mom go with Dinkleburg? After all, he is smarter than Timmy’s dad, has more money & is more successful than he is. And Wandesemo is more popular, not stupid, & mostly competent unlike Casmo. Should Wanda dump Casmo for him? Of course i understand wanting the best person to end with you’re favorite character. But that’s not how love works & in the long run isn’t fair to both Ash & May (& Drew, but I know you haters don’t care about that).

Now you've been asked what you do like about him what about the opposite what don't you like about goh?
Aw man, this is gonna hurt.
TL;DR - Goh’s a completely lovable character, but I have three particular issues with him that I feel could become worse if not taken care of properly.
First off, DISCLAIMERS!! To all my fellow Goh fans, please know that writing this, I do not mean any hatred to Goh in anyway. I LOVE Goh, and if you’ve seen literally ANY of my past anipoke posts, you would already know that. These are just issues I find with his character that I want to be changed for the best.
Now with that outta the way, here’s what I don’t like about Goh:
1. His iffy character development. While he’s doing fine in becoming more open to people and more willing to help Pokemon, his fighting skills are what I have trouble with it. Let’s go back to his first ever official battle.
It was at Hoenn’s Frontier Cup where he used Scorbunny and Scyther against a trainer’s Mightyena. Despite having a type advantage with Scyther, he lost horribly, which is completely understandable. He’s a beginner and doesn’t possess the same kind of street smarts and experience Ash and many other trainers have. Alright then, so maybe this will lead to a change in character of wanting to become better in battles by getting some training with Ash, who made quick work of that Mightyena trainer. Surely we’ll get some development over this topic after this episode!
He beats Saffron City’s Karate Master and scores a free Hitmonchan.
...Okaaaay, I mean, we’ve never seen the Karate Master in battle before, so perhaps it was just another fodder trainer the anime is filled of. I sure we’ll get some more Goh development after thi-
He easily defeats and captures a powerful Flygon.
.....Alright, alright, it was only a wild Pokemon. Everyone can beat those, right? Heck, in the next episode, he technically suffers a curbstomp loss against Kiawe and admits he only battles Ash every so often. Perhaps this loss will encourage Goh to train more with Ash so he could become a stronger trainer. I mean, despite his good luck with Pokeballs, he’s gonna need to be as strong as he can be for tougher mons, like Legendaries. I’m 100% sure we’ll get something out of thi-
He takes down a wild Zapdos and NEARLY captures it.
.........Uh, okie dokes, it wasn’t a successful capture, and who knows? Even though we have not seen him battle/train that much on-screen, maybe he just got a little lucky. Even in the games, it happens to the best of us. Perhaps this barely missed victory will finally give Goh the time to actually development more on-screen so that he could have a better chance agai-
He defeats Oleana’s Milotic, using his fire-type Raboot who only wanted to use a weak fire-type move.
..............Allllriiiiight, maybe Oleana just got a little cocky later on. Plus, Raboot finished Milotic by evolving in Cinderace and finishing it off with Pyro Ball. With this powerful evolution in hand, maybe Goh will finally realize that, in order for Cinderace to reach its greatest potential, he must start training for once and obtain some proper development for a chance against stronger threa-
Cinderace fights decently well against Mewtwo, even lasting longer than Pikachu and being on-par with the more trained Lucario.
....................At this point, I’m all out of excuses for him. Overall, Goh’s development as a trainer is very rushed to the point seeing him achieve numerous victories despite all odds being against his favor to be iffy.
2. Slightly touchy topic, but there are some negatives with his whole catching all Pokemon goal. So Goh wants to catch every single mon he can in order to reach up to Mew, as he said to Mewtwo in episode 46. And yes, this includes Legendaries as well. Unfortunately, this is where my issues with his goal starts. First off, where in the world will Goh keep any Legendary he encounters? Cerise’s glorified garden dome? Yeah, keep Dialga and Palkia, literal beings of space and time, inside a glass dome with a bunch of weaker mons. And speaking of which, wouldn’t catching mons like the Creation Trio or the Island Guardians cause quite the upset in, well, y’know, the natural balance of things? Sure, Goh technically hasn’t caught a single Legendary yet (Eternatus doesn’t count because it had to be sealed away), with how the anime is playing out, issues like this will surely rise throughout the series.
And yes, the anime is playing it out for Goh to indeed catch every single mon before reaching Mew. If you pay attention to the openings as well as many of Goh’s own character moments, such as episode 46, then you can easily see the signs telling us that Goh is bound to catch them all, just as Ash is bound on defeating Leon. In the past, pretty much all of Ash’s traveling companions had their own goals as well, but it’s usually because of those goals is why they leave Ash by the end of their journeys, like May and Dawn pursuing contests in other regions, Brock wanting to become a doctor, Iris wanting to find more Dragon types, Kiawe wanting to become an Island Kahuna etc. Because of that, it becomes up to the audience’s interpretation (and fanfics) on how they achieve their dreams and what challenges they could face throughout the way. With Goh, there will a lot more focus and emphasis placed on his goal, and while this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it’s too bad there aren’t really any stakes or obstacles in Goh’s journey!
Really now, another glaring issue with Goh’s goal is that he has NO trouble going through with it at all. From his very first fodder capture, all he has to do is get a good throw and then PING! Pokemon caught. Guess the thing of having to weaken a Pokemon first before capturing it has been retconned out of the anime forever. With that said, there’s absolutely no struggle for Goh to overcome in his journey, which kinda makes things boring. Where’s the challenge? Where are his rivals? Are there any doubts? Does he have any issue of having to catch and connect every single mon in existence? No, well then good for him I guess! Sad thing too is that he catches so many Pokemon with so much potential, but they then disappear completely after their debut.
Remember that free Hitmonchan he scored from Saffron’s Fighting Dojo who seemed completely willing to train with Riolu and Farfetch’d? Never seen again. That female Raichu who loves giving berries? Completely forgotten about. That Aerodactyl Goh resurrected and bonded with before catching? Thanos snapped. The Heracross Goh obtained from a trade at the cost of a second Pinsir he worked hard to find? Literally who?
3. And my biggest issue with Goh. The fact he’s somehow on the same scale as Ash.
Don’t believe me? Well, let’s go back to the ending of episode 46. After Mewtwo teleported him, Ash, Pikachu, Lucario, and Cinderace back home, Goh said this: “We’ve still got a long way to go.”
Excuse me, but WHAT?!?!?!
You BOTH got a long way to go, even though you both suffered a complete curbstomp from a mon that would probably even make the likes of Lance, Cynthia, and Leon comparable to Youngster Joey?!?! What the Distortion World?!?! Why is Goh and, by extension, the writers implying he and Ash are on even terms when it comes to being a trainer? Goh, as a reminder, you literally only began your trainer career 45 episodes ago!!
Alright, let’s talk about Ash for a second and what he’s been through since he started his trainer career. Ash started in Kanto, and while he really only fairly achieved three out of his eight badges (Brock and Misty’s were givens, Erika’s was a thank-you gift, Sabrina’s was all Haunter’s doing, and Jessie and James are complete jokes that no one should take seriously), he still partook in as many battles as he could against tough trainers while getting some pointers from the much more experienced Misty and Brock. After that, he went on to become a much more impressive trainer in later journeys. Instead of a full recap, I’ll just list two impressive things Ash has done in each region he’s journeyed through after losing in the Kanto League.
Orange Islands: Won his first official double battle with Pikachu and Charizard despite neither initially getting along at first and then defeated the Orange League champ, Drake.
Johto: Survived an entire forest of bloodthirsty Ursaring with his friends and defeated Gary’s Blastoise with his Charizard.
Hoenn: Helped stopped both Team Magma and Team Aqua’s elemental threats and reached Top 8 in the Hoenn League despite only two of his mons being fully evolved with one being a glass cannon bird.
Kanto again: Conquered the Battle Frontier and tied with May in his first ever contest.
Sinnoh: Helped protect a Riolu from the famed Hunter J and knocked out two of Tobias’ Legendary Pokemon.
Unova: Defeated Iris’ Dragonite twice (Charizard pretty much had the high ground in their fight) and helped protect Meloetta.
Kalos: Defeated four Mega Evolutions (Lucario, Abomasnow, Absol, and Sceptile) and was one of the main heroes against Lysandre.
Alola: Became an Ultra Guardian and conquered the Alola League.
And right now as of Journeys: Defeated Korinna’s Mienfoo and Mega Lucario with only Dragonite right after the two curbstomped Gengar and defeated Chairman Rose.
And this isn’t even scratching the surface, and yet, somehow, Ash is still on the same scale of Goh. This doesn’t make any logical sense, it completely negates Ash’s experience while over-wanking Goh’s, and it ruins any semblance of power scaling between the two. Logically, Ash should be leagues above Goh and the latter should always confide to Ash whenever he needs assistance or pointers, not “Oh, we both lost to a powerful legendary, guess that means we both have stuff to learn and we’re both beginners lul”. It’s like Deku and All Might both losing a villain that’s beyond both of their capabilities, and then Deku saying that they BOTH have much to learn afterwards! Does it make sense? HECK NO.
If they had to have Goh comment about their loss, why couldn’t he say something that would’ve made more sense? Maybe say something like “Wow, I can’t believe I lasted that long, honestly.” And then Ash would say, “Hey, you’re only getting better. And me and my team will always be there in case you need more training.” Have the two acknowledge the fact that even trainers like Leon wouldn’t fare any better than them against Mewtwo. Just absolutely anything that doesn’t completely ruin what we know of these characters to the point the two are considered equals, despite all the evidence saying otherwise.
I’m getting a little exhausted now, so I’m done, but thanks for asking, anon!
And for anyone reading, please feel free to agree or disagree. I’m completely acceptable to anyone else’s thoughts/opinions over Goh and would love to hear them.

Pokken is probably the biggest Pokemon let down in the history of Pokemon let downs.
I'm a passionate guy. I love and hate things pretty hard for many reasons and those reasons usually run deep even if they are only a few words. However, sometimes I'll have a passion so deep that it is specifically against the common consensus and will be viewed as "flawed" or "wrong" or "stupid" or "something I should get over". The point is this is one of those things that every time I explain it to my friends who like Pokken that they get defensive and tell me I'm wrong. Thankfully most of the times opinions can't really be wrong now can they? Firstly I would like to express I am not a game designer in any way and my opinions are just that. My opinion and if you don't like it that is fair. We can all live in the same space and not have to come to blows over these things. So why is Pokken the biggest let down at least for me in the world of Pokemon games? That's because Pokken is not what I expected and what it could have been. When I say it could have been better and possibly better than almost every single fighting game known to man as well better than even Smash than you can only assume my expectations were so high on this game that you could say it is my fault for putting them on the highest level and then being sad when the game doesn't even come to half of what I wanted. Let me take you back to the first time I saw a Pokemon fighting game. For many of you, you already know or have seen the game but maybe don't know the name. That game is Pokemon: Type Wild. Type Wild is basically like every single other fighting game in that you get a roster (9) of different fighters who all fight in their own style. Simple enough to get where anyone can pick it up but few could master. It is a simple game that strikes desire into the heart of fighting game lovers. Which I happen to love fighting games. I may not play the greatest amount of them but I am ungodly at Bloody Roar 3 to a point where picking up a controller is like riding a bike. Short side story. My first time drinking I played a drinking game with friends where if you win you take a shot of hard liquor. We had 4 different types of hard liquor such as Sake, Vodka, Whiskey, and something else I can't remember. Eventually I had won so many games that not only was I shit face to the point of barely able to sit up straight, but I drank so much alcohol that by the time I was half way through the roster people quit because I was still winning and they haven't even felt a buzz yet. We ran out of liquor that day. Point is I love fighting games so I for years hoped that we would get a solid fighting game either like a 2d styles Street Fighter or a 2.5d style in the styles of Tekken or Bloody Roar. Instead we got Pokken. So I'm sure you would ask "what is wrong with the game. I like it." and that is just fine. You can like whatever you want and we can again have different opinions. Hell even if you like a thing people think is bad or a guilty pleasure that's also fine. I love infomercials and they are stupid as hell. You are allowed to like bad things. Let's be honest though. Pokken even if a good game does have flaws. It's not perfect by far and in those flaws I find that I don't for its own merits actually like the game. This again does not make it bad. Here are the things I find bad with the game in no particular order. Fights are too short I hate the switch style of fighting and it tends to make certain characters like machamp unrealistic in that he now needs a ranged attack like everyone else thus he becomes like everyone else. This is bad because you have no choice when it'll switch styles as it sometimes happens randomly (or so I assume, it has been a hot minute since I played but I'm pretty positive it happened without me "triggering anything) It's all style and no real substance. It looks pretty but it is kind of just a flash in the pan when you've seen all the moves over and over and over again. As stated before, all the characters are pretty much the same. What I mean by that is all have a long ranged move and basically feel the same. Yes there is some rock
paper scissors but when machamp needs a long ranged move and you just make it punches then it feels more tacked on and the characters don't really shine much. The roster looks alright at best but since there are 2 mewtwos and 2 pikachus it just feels lack luster. Also the dog and the chandelier don't seem to fit. The little support Pokemon don't seem like they add that much. Lastly and the most important part is that the game seems to lack real actual depth like Pokemon games do. That's the real problem for me. You have the biggest franchise in the world and finally make the biggest spin off for it and you make it lack substance? You might be thinking "well what would you do to make the game better?" and I'm glad you hypothetically asked in this scenario I just made up and forced upon you. There are 2 ways to make a good Pokemon fighting game. One is a rip off and the other is my own creation so to speak. The first is simple. Just make another smash. Make the Kanto region its own smash areas with instead of pokeballs and items and so on (you could cut down on all the extra stuff) and focus on making a pokemon with its own move sets. You could give them each their own moves and just make them fight like they would in smash. Is it a unique game? No, but the roster would be gigantic and it would look dope having a person fight as magikarp against a giant group of people. Also think of the amount of Amiibos they could make. The game wouldn't end there. It would get DLC for each region with new pokemon every time. The problem with this is the roster would be 1000 large and counting. So making this, as fun as it would be, seems unrealistic. So let's instead go with my idea. My idea is more or less the same as the actual game but with fighting in it. What that means is you would take every main important mechanic and throw it into this game. Then you would take the game and make it into a fighting game with those mechanics. Let's start small. First we need a story to get the game rolling right? Let's make it simple. It is a fighting tournament where fighting types can come together and fight in the arena. You know, like the episode of where Ash had primeape fight a bunch of dudes. Instead of in general fighting in a ring, they would have a stage where fights would be held. The story is this is where whoever shows up wants to be the best. Let's say each character is going to also be it's own "person" with it's own personality. That way we can have entry comments when they start the fight because they are talking to each other. You can make rivalries happen, you can also in general say these are the best fighters of their kinds. You have options to make this into a grander stage than the original did by making this the first ever tournament of its kind. That's the setting but we need a roster to fill the game out. So the game could start small in that it generally would have a roster specifically of only fighting types. This means that at most we would if only using final evolutions have without different forms, and megas about 32 different characters. Suddenly we now have a larger roster compared to the actual one we got. sure it is only fighting types but if we only have fighting types no one can complain about not getting their favorite. However, I'm not gonna lie, the roster looks like it lacks main villains and leaving out legends kind of ruins the whole every fighting type and lastly, with what happened to dexit I'm sure people would be mad if they can't use megas as well. So let's instead change that roster to have EVERY single fighting type in the game. (only last evolutions though. Don't need no babies and first forms in here) Now we have a total of 52. Let's also say for fairness sakes that some characters have non fighting forms. Let's add those in if they are before a mega evolution changes them. That's 3 more for a total of 55 in the roster. Now let's also have to force a couple more in there for "reasons" such as it is Pikachu who has to be in every single game. So now it is 56 total and since in general
arceus can every type the roster would be a total of 57 characters at the end of the entire thing. That puts the current roster to shame. Sure we miss out on fan favorites but in the end 57 unique characters? That is one hell of a difference. Yeah they are all fighting types but still. It is 100% better than what we currently have. Also this can be done. There are fighting games with over 60 characters and I'm not talking about a roster of "forms" like in dragonball z games where you can change your move set that is basically the same as other peoples. I'm talking about games such as smash with 58, tekken tag tournament 2 with 59, mortal kombat armageddion with 62, def jam fight for ny with 72, naruto ultimate ninja storm with 119. Suddenly you're up there with the big boys. (at least numbers wise) Some people might say that the game would probably have bad graphics and to that I say it has a simply solution. Make the game 2d. Many people would probably say that the best thing about Pokken is that it looks "tight as fuck" or something in that regard but we all know that 3d doesn't make everything better. Old school Street fighter games look pretty good with smooth animations and also fantastic backgrounds and a lot like anime compared to now which just doesn't look the same. Good in its own ways but different. You can have more things in a game with less "graphics" while looking super great while doing so. It wouldn't lessen the game and would make future versions of the game able to add more into the game as well. It would also add for many more things to be added as well. Which is really good since in general the game is supposed to be deep and not taking the game to look amazing means you can add more into it and allow for more cool things. Let's not get into the nitty gritty just yet because there are a few things I'd like to add. Let's take a step back to the roster. Let's say that they started off with just the first gen leading us to have a total of 9 different characters on the roster. That's not bad. This leaves us open to a ton of DLC and also alternate "costumes" to make our characters look better and more in line with who they want to be. The rosters itself would also have 9 unique characters with different strengths and weaknesses compared to a generic roster who is small but also kind of the same. You could also allow for a stage for every single type to shine through aesthetically. Sure we got some nice looking stages but imagine if we had one based on each type. A normal stage on a beach where it is sandy and has a nice tropical sunny feel to it. The only thing that would make that better is if the beach had some interaction to it. What matters in the game is the style of play. Pokken allows for arena battles as well as side to side battles. Both are fine but would make you have to specifically have one main style of art and dimensions. I think that side to side is better in 2d while arena I believe can only be in 3d. This to me means that we would have a side to side fighter but if for example we did get a 3d arena match then we would get hazards on the field. There was a play at doing so in the actual game where there would be spots where vines and other explosions pop up from the ground but imagine an actual 3d arena where you can get thrown into trees, or walk on hot lava spots or something akin to that. Imagine all the actual things you can do with moves such as spikes, or actual entry hazards. The game would take on more depth and allow for cooler fights. Even then having things in 2d isn't that bad. Having the ability to actually fight in a beautiful place with the character you want there allows for better visuals. The real shame is we could have gotten a battle area for every single type of Pokemon as well as a call back to the ???? typing where it would randomly choose a place to fight. This is all visual things that would make the game pretty but the real depth of it comes from how the game is constructed. That is by it being like actual normal main stream games. So what does it mean to
be a main stream game? Let's quantify to some degree what Pokemon is. It's a jrpg with the largest party roster ever. It's a simple one on one battle style but in essence you got the fighter, the ninja, the mage, and probably a few other things. They just sometimes look like eggs or a dinosaur. Either way roster is huge. The second thing is the simplicity of type matchess and even added abilities. Stats are also a part of the game while equipment and moves that you can customize out of a set list are also there. Personalities and breeding make their way into the game. There are so many things that you can do with normal Pokemon that just allows for the most unique playthrough of the game in any way you want and matches against real people have strategies and styles you might not find everywhere else. That is unless you're not playing random children and are playing adults who use the same stuff over and over except that one guy who used pachirisu but that guy is a maverick. So how would all this work? Simple. Just do the stuff they already do. Let's look at Pokken itself real quick. You have the attack and defense stats that in general make you deal or take less damage. You have your ultimate gauge and your support gauge. Pretty lack luster stuff seeing as we get more in the regular stats of Pokemon compared to it. We have special and regular attack. Special and regular defense. Speed and Lastly HP. That's where Pokken ends in customization. Lackluster in comparison as well when you look at all the stuff you can do in regular Pokemon to build a bond with it. So how do we build into the ultimate experience that we never got but wanted? Easily. Again just do like the game. Pokemon has a couple things that it does for you to customize your single little buddy to take on anyone. Let's look at those things. You have levels, types, items, breeding, evs/ivs, abilities, unique movesets, specific stats. That doesn't seem like much but having 8 different things to do with their own large amount of things is huge. To start with lets go with levels. Levels will be exactly that. They will increase the more you use a specific Pokemon. Not to say that the character would change and then have you start at a lower level, but in general you have the 100 levels and the stats on the character would grow to be that of what you finally get. You would also in PVP be matched up to an enemy of an equal level since you would have played that character and at least that long for that level to exist on the character you are using. This means that stats would also come into play. Stats would act like they normally do however moves would dictate that thing. Normal attacks would work with attack strength while special moves that you add onto your character would use the special stat. Not moves that are special attacks but any and every move. So extreme speed and thunderbolt would both use the special stat while a normal punch or kick would be your attack. This would make moves matter and make you want to make the move set how you would like it. Moves and customized move sets would be next on the list. This would allow for you to actually help your character and yeah this would mean that some characters are more optimal in some ways. If you wanted a move based machamp over an attacker than you have the choice and sure, some characters would be horrible with special attack but in the end all moves are special and would allow certain characters who are long range attackers such as Sirfetch'd who has a sword have to get closer to a machamp who uses focus blast to hit. This would allow for actual move customization too so that things such as toxicroak who uses poison moves to really shine since if we are making the moves than we would in general also wanna add the typings into the game as well. Types would allow for certain Pokemon to shine through more. Yes ghost fighting types would be busted, but thankfully there is only one and that would mean that you would want some anti ghost stuff on your character or it would make for you to have to actually
do normal attacks with a special attacker as they are even if named normal attacks not normal type. As in regular punches and kicks. Things like typing would also come into effect because that means the moves would be of the type and you can get added bonuses such as poisoning people and flinching and so on. Which means that abilities would be handy to fight certain people. If you play toxicroak then you are going to poison people with poison point. Which would go back to typing as an important thing since lucario is part steel. You could slow the opponent with electric moves. You could flinch enemies and so on. You have so many abilities to disrupt the enemy. This will make people go and make a huge deal on trying to perfect their roster of dudes they like to not only get skilled at them but also in general make them better. This is good because items and breeding are going to be a thing in the game. If ev's and iv's are in the game with breeding then that means you can actively max out a pokemon in ways you like. You can get points by winning fights and throw them onto a pokemon and just have like levels unlocked points for that pokemon. That way when you get good stuff for the process of breeding a new version of the character you get it in a way that actually benefits you when you choose a new nature and instead of having to grind even more each time you can just in general work hard while reasonably doing so. How would you get these items? That's simple. Either through constant grind which you are already doing or through mini games. Like the ones they had back in Pokemon stadium. People have wanted those again for such a long time. Even if they are small ones where it is training based it would be something fun to do to set off the monotony of grinding a better character all the time. So since everything is unique in that way how would the roster themselves work? It's big and it seems like we wouldn't be able to make them all 100% unique and as true as that is there is one thing to set them apart like you would in a normal fighting game compared to what it seems Pokken does. EVERY POKEMON HAS A UNIQUE FIGHTING STYLE BECAUSE THEY ARE FIGHTING TYPES. If we looked at the roster some of them are going to be in general a little strange but take it from the guy who is passionate about this idea that I can in some ways write down a style for each of them and that's just what I'm gonna do. Pikachu - Let's get the first and most obvious one out of the way and the most blatant problem in the only fighting type roster. Let's just say Pikachu libre was raised by some fighting types. Hawlucha to be exact and it got let in as an honorary member. It would be a fast attacker and have some good jump attacks. Primeape - A berserker style fighter who attacks very well but lacks real use of the special moves. It can still do them, but it may be open to failing. Like the trip mechanic in Smash cause fuck you it's funny. Poliwrath - A heavy hitter who does big attacks. Poliwrath doesn't have a style so much is just a big beefy dude. Would probably make him a little better at doing specials because of his lack of finesse and real inability to kick well. Machamp - Based on body builders and "able to know every fighting style" kinda makes machamp a little bit of an "eh" choice. Instead of making him fully aggressive and E Honda someone with 1000 punches we could also make him have special button inputs to pose and get power ups. This would make him actually stronger on specials if you wanted to do a special attacker or something else of the like. Hitmonlee - A kick boxer style where he would hardly use his hands. He would still be able to do special moves like the punches but in general this would mostly mean he would just kick normally and have extra blocks with his arms. Hitmonchan - If they can make steve fox do dodges with his feet then they can make hitmonchan the exact same way. Galarian Zapdos - Look, it's stupid that it is a fighting type but it is what it is. So let's just roll with it and say he does a lot of kicks.
Like can't really punch but would use his beak for pecks. They wouldn't be flying attacks but in general would allow for a little long range. Mewtwo - Our first non fighting type (not pikachu) to hit the scene and a real boss. See as much as Zapdos is a boss, Mewtwo would also in general be like the larger boss at the end. A real contender for difficult since his stats would push him a little over. The real threat is when you look at his mega form which would not require an item on the boss in the game and would allow him to not be stopped from this form. He also has a different move set meaning he is just in general a different fighter as well. You could also have it to where they don't even need the players to need to mega evolve and they just choose him. Heracross - This would be a little tricky as beetles generally just fling their enemy. He would probably have moves that did that while also being able to grapple well. His mega form would allow him to hit better like he normally does with multi hit moves and would probably have a better grab based move set. Hitmontop - Being short is its own special thing since he would be harder to hit with high attacks but he also has capoera style. Blaziken - Blaziken seems like it would be another strong boss in that it literally gets faster as the battle goes on and his mega does the same thing. It also has muay thai style fighting. Breloom - It's literally a kangaroo. It punches, it kickes really hard with its tail as support. It's a kangaroo. Hariyama - Besides Ehonda strikes it is also a sumo wrestler. So throws would be a thing it can do. Medicham - One of the more difficult to place styles. Its mega form would allow for also easy punch combos but I think this would be one of the more wonky styles of fighting. Each fighting game has a yoshimitsu style of fighter and I'm sure this would be it. Infernape - Monkey style kung fu. Loppuny - Loppuny is strange in that it is not a fighter. So it should have a generic not that strong looking style of fighting but when it mega evolves it learns Tai Bo and generic defense class style. Lucario - Also strange to place but could have something like Tai Chi or something of the like. Toxicroak - A dirty fighter and probably like that of a yakuza. Gallade - Would be really good at counters and uses a gentlemans style of fighting. Arceus - I don't know man, it's a horse. The people making the game would figure it out. Just steal the horse style from the JOJO fighting game or something. Emboar - Based on chinese symbols and also wrestling. This could be a grappler as well with a greco roman style and theme. Conkeldurr - This would have range over most of the others as well as strength, it would be slow moving but could swing fast. It also uses centripital force. Throh - It knows judo and would be good at grapples and blocks. Sawk - It knows karate and would be really good at strikes and counters. Scrafty - Would use headbutts and kicks. Nothing other than what it says since inner city youth generally don't have a fighting style. Mienshao - Shaolin style kung fu. Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion - Each would have the same style of fighting. The difference being is Cobalion would have average speed and attack while terrakion and virizion would be slower or faster while weaker and stronger. Keldeo - Would have a style like the others but with some variations to it. It would be kind of bad in comparison as it is not as old and skilled but it's resolute form would make the style come together and make it better. Meloetta - Would have a buff system like Machamp but could also change style to allow it to do better at fighting but lose the ability to make buffs Chesnaught - It's a noble knight. Give it a graceful style that doesn't fit its huge armor or make it a power house. The choices are up to the developer at that point. Pangoro - Big punches and wild swings. Like Poliwrath but handles different. Hawlucha - Luchadore style wrestling, but has a high jump allowing for aerial attacks. Crabominable - Just punches. It
can't do anything else but it should have strong hard to stop punches. Bewear - Based on bear wrestling and bear hugs. It is your modern wrestler. Since we won't have incineroar in the game this would be the closest we get to WWE style of wrestling. Passimian - Tackles and moving. It's a football player. What else would it do? Kommo-o - Honestly this one eludes me since it just is a fighting type and I don't think it was inspired type wise by anything. Buzzwole - Just like Pangoro and Poliwrath. Would just be a big buff fighter. Pheromosa - Would be a kick fighter like Jenny from Bloody Roar 3. Marshadow - Since it mimics it would just be the random fighter each time. Grapploct - A grappler. Sirfetch'd - Uses his spear/sword for doing long range styles of poke. Shield would help block better. Also is small. Falinks - What could it do? I have no idea. Zamazenta - It has a normal non shield form, and it has a shield form. It could be slower in non shield mode but also when in shield mode be harder to hurt. Urshifu - Urshifu has 2 forms. One which would be single strike which is precise and accurate trying to end the fight in as few hits as possible meaning dealing more damage or something like that while rapid strike form could just be an unending combo like Maxi does in Soul Calibur 2. The real thing to know is that in general certain pokemon could have unique abilities not explained. Such as better blocks where they take less damage to no damage compared to other fighters or even more damage even if at the same number or other things like that, This would also make the boss battles more unique. That's mostly how the game would be made. At the end of the day we lost out on what could be the most deep fighter ever made. What saddens me more is that had we gotten this game it would have probably made Nintendo do better with their online services. Either way we will never know what truly could have been.

Hi! Lemonade for Jaune? Sounds like somebody is thristy! *wink* What's this story about?
Thirsty? Ira, my dear friend, i have absolutelly no idea whatcha talking about ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Title: A Lemonade for Jaune
Pairing: Jaune x Pyrrha/Cinder/Ruby/Yang (colorguard)
Status: Under Rewrite.
Chapters wrote: 4
Total words so far: 2,900 (the part i re-wrote, the original had about 7K words if i'm not mistaken)
Story:
I think it's very obvious judging by the name that this story is a lemon, its basically a smutty spin-off of my first fic "between angels and demons"
I made four chapters, one for each girl.
Chapter 1 - A dragon in the shower.
The first chapter starts with jaune waking up on the bed surrounded by pyrrha, ruby and yang, he struggles a bit but manages to slip off the bed and head off to the shower.
Upon reaching the shower jaune proceeds to brainstorm about his problems and responsibilities (related to my first fic, so i won't go into detail here) and before he can go too deep into his thoughts yang shows up and asks if she can join him.
Jaune doesn't have a problem with that and lets her in, sharing the not-big-enough shower with her. (One thing that is worth mentioning is that, thanks to some plot related stuff, jaune has some more...wild instincts, he's very sensitive to his girlfriend's scent and has a really hard time to control himself in these kinds of situations.)
Yang notices how nervous he is and they talk a bit, jaune explains that is kinda hard to control himself when she's naked and so close to him, yang tells him with a grin that he doesn't have to control himself like that, jaune is embarrassed and says that he feels bad for being so sensitive like that, he was afraid that they saw him like a horny animal or something like that.
Yang gave him a kiss and told him she would never see him like that, she gets why he's like this and that's his nature, it's not his fault that he was born like that and if she could help him in any was she would, and if the way of helping him was through sex it was even better, so yang gave him a sultry grin while reaching out for his very sensitive lower region and teased him a bit saying that she liked the deal just as much as he did.
Jaune gave her one last warning, saying if she kept going he wouldn't be able to hold back anymore, yang asked why was he still trying to even if she told him to let go, she was ready whenever he was.
After hearing these words jaune pressed yang against the cold glass of the shower and started to make out with her, and what comes next your dirty minds probably already know.
Chapter 2 - A spar with the spartan (yeah, pun intended)
Thanks to the VERY LONG shower he took in the morning, jaune got late to his training session jaune and had to fight adam as a punishment, since adam basically didn't held back during fights, even if it was training. And after a brutal morning of training he left to get his lunch with his friends and girlfriends, and when that was over he joined pyrrha into a swordsmanship training.
Jaune trained a lot with the others to get more strength and experience, but when it came to more technical skills with the sword, pyrrha was his teacher.
So they went to their usual place at the rooftop and started to train and spar. They spared for a long time, and ever since their first spar jaune had improved a lot, but it still wasn't enough to defeat pyrrha in question of sword skill, but he still was improving, to the point where he managed to land a clear strong blow on pyrrha, who by reflex counter attacked and sent him flying to the wall.
Jaune was dizzy for a moment but slowly he started to hear his partner calling him, when he finally came back to his senses he was sat on the rooftops with his back leaned on the wall, pyrrha was kneeled next to him and holding his face while calling him, to problem was that she was very close and on the position she was at the moment, jaune had a perfect view of her cleavage.
Jaune blushed and looked away, trying to ignore the voice in his head that was telling him to pounce at her. pyrrha asked if he was okay and he said he was but it was probably better of they finished for today, jaune really needed a cold shower, as if the view wasn't enough, the fact that she was very sweaty from their training didn't helped his sensitive nose.
Jaune tried to get up but pyrrha held him back, she saw how red his face was and wondered if he had a fever, she switched her position, sitting on his lap and resting her forehead on his.
Jaune had a really hard time to control himself, he told pyrrha he was okay but she insisted that she needed to make sure he was okay, jaune was praying for the gods hoping that she wouldn't take long but she did, why was she taking so long just to check his temperature? When jaune finally managed to look directly at her he noticed the faint blush on her cheeks, and when she asked about it she retracted and apologised saying she was a bit distracted.
Jaune was hoping she would switch positions but she was still on the same place, still sat on his lap and when he pointed that out she apologized again, but didn't budge, jaune would speak up again but she spoke up first asking if jaune was. . .aroused.
Jaune blush increased tenfold and he tried to play it off saying that he wasn't and why was she asking that, pyrrha (very red, mind you) said that it was because she could feel his. . .err. . .'Lower self' poking her.
Jaune instantly started to apologise but pyrrha said that it was okay and that she knew that it was normal, so if he wanted she could help him to. . .relax.
Jaune couldn't say that the offer wasn't appealing, specially after the stress he got through earlier, jaune said that if she wouldn't mind it, pyrrha instantly said that she wouldn't and blushed a bit because of how eager she sounded, jaune then said it was okay and before her could mention going back to their room pyrrha already pulled him into a mind blowing kiss, jaune tried to resist but it didn't lasted more than a few seconds, and he just accepted the fact that they would end up doing right there in the rooftops.
Jaune started to remove pyrrha's armor and started the foreplay by messing with her chest, not long after they moved to the main course, which again, your perverted minds already know how it probably worked.
Chapter 3 - Quality time with the rose.
After he and pyrrha were done jaune joined ren to get some aura training and left to take a shower, when he was done he found ruby who reminded him of the movie marathon they wanted to watch, so jaune put on his new pajamas (since nora burnt his onesie by 'accident') and joined ruby on a common room she reserved for them, she had popcorn and drinks ready for them and so they started the marathon.
Jaune laid down on the couch with ruby on his chest while they both shared some popcorn and watched movies, jaune had trouble to focus a few times because ruby's but rubbed against his crotch a few times, she spilled her drink on her shirt making it get a bit transparent (and thanks to that jaune found out that she wasn't wearing any bra), then she came back with a new nightgown she bought on a trip to vale along with weiss, a nightgown that was a bit more revealing than her usual pajamas, and to top it all of the countless times the control fell on the floor and ruby had to get up and lean down to get it, giving him a perfect view of her hear.
Jaune managed to enjoy the movies but he still had some trouble to keep his mind away from the more dirty thoughts, and apparently he wasn't the only one who was in a bad mood, ruby seemed to be angry at something, he just didn't knew what, but found out not long after.
When the movies were over jaune sta up and told her they should go back to their dorm because it was late. . .ruby only nodded wordlessly.
Jaune found it weird how silent she was and how she was looking down, forming a shadow over her eyes. Jaune asked what was wrong, and before he could ever react ruby sat on his lap and pulled him into a deep kiss.
When they broke for air jaune tried to ask but ruby was quicker, she asked jaune if he thought she was attractive, she had a small blush on her cheeks and was avoiding his eyes, jaune replied said she was beautiful and gorgeous, ruby then asked if she thought she was sexy, her face redder than before, just like jaune's. Jaune replied that yeah, he thought she was sexy.
Ruby then held his face and asked if that was true then why was she the only one he wasn't doing lewd stuff with. Jaune asked what was she talking about and she said she saw him doing it with yang and pyrrha earlier, but right now, even when she was trying to get his attention and giving a few hints he still didn't do anything with her, she asked of it was because her body wasn't developed like the others were, and if jaune didn't thought her body was appealing.
Jaune said that it wasn't like that, he loved her body almost as much as he loved her, and that he didn't do anything because he didn't wanted to make her uncomfortable.
Ruby replied, saying that it wouldn't make her uncomfortable. she wanted to do it too and thought he was avoiding her because he didn't liked her body.
Jaune then in a bold move placed her on the couch and pulled her nightgown down, exposing her chest so he could show her how much he loves her body. And once more, your dirty minds can imagine what happens next.
Chapter 4 - Past Ashes.
On the next day, jaune carried on with his usual routine. he woke up, took a short bath and left to his training, this time getting in time and so, avoiding his punishment.
When his training reached to the end he got his lunch and left to his room to take a bath, yang teased him saying she wanted to join him but she and the girls needed to go out for a girls day on vale, basically they wanted to enjoy a bit and buy some stuff to spice things up for them later on, jaune blushed and left to his shower to cool his head down and relax a bit.
When he left the shower the girls had already left and he was alone on the dorm, he fell down on his bed and started to brainstorm about some stuff when he heard a familiar sound of concrete being pierced by a blade.
Jaune groans knowing how good witch will give him an earful about how his girlfriend should stop doing that. Doing what you may ask? Well. . .getting in his room through the window.
Soon enough, he saw the tip of a scythe hang on his window and the girl he was thinking about climbing up.
Jaune said that his dorm had a door for a reason and that cinder should stop climbing up the walls with a scythe instead of using them.
(Yes, in this story cinder uses a scythe, long story short she was saved by maria calavera after some bad shit happened, maria trained her and because of that cinder uses a scythe, she's also damaged like in vol.4 but instead of having a grimm arm she has a robotic one.)
Jaune keeps talking about how she should use the door while cinder ignores with a grin and puts on some more casual clothes, jaune at some point gives up knowing she doesn't really care about that.
Once he finally shuts up cinder sits by his side and hugs his arm, asking if he missed her, jaune replies that obviously yes and asked how things were going back home
(Jaune's dad is one of the bad guys in the story and cinder is the one who keeps an eye on him and on what he's doing)
Cinder tells him everything and he asks if she isn't doing anything dangerous, cinder tells him that she obviously is doing something dangerous all things considered and jaune starts to remember some bad stuff.
Cinder helps him to calm down and jaune turns to her, telling he's just afraid of losing her again. Cinder assured that it would never happen again and for him to not worry about it.
Jaune wipes a few tears and she rolls her eyes saying that some things never change, that he's still the same crybaby from ten years ago.
Jaune agrees and says that she is still that same stubborn girl that jumps on the face of the danger without thinking twice.
Cinder then straddles him and says he talks too much. jaune turned away with a blush while she cooed at him, telling he looks adorable when he's embarrassed, jaune tells her he's not embarrassed but she says he totally is, he looks exactly the same of when they first did it.
Jaune reminded her that she was just as nervous as he was at that time, and cinder added that even so she wasn't the one stuttering her words or blushing all the time. Jaune fell silent in embarrassment while she grinned at him.
Cinder asked if he was planning to keep in silence, but he didn't replied, her grin got a bit wider as she said that she knew how to make him talk.
Not even a second later she started to grind her hips on his, while he did his best to ignore it, unfortunately for him, cinder didn't liked to be ignored and started to grind even more aggressively, jaune couldn't help but let out a few lewd noises, making her grin victoriously.
Jaune condeaded and said she won and told her to stop, cinder asked what if she didn't wanted to stop? She knew he was telling her to stop but his other self was very eager to 'play' jaune blushed and looked away again, cinder chuckled and told him to relax, she's been away for awhile and neglected him for way too long, and so she wanted him to leave her do the dirty job, when jaune asked what did she meant she decided to answer with a kiss, and while he was distracted with the kiss she started to take off his pants.
When the kiss was over she started to attack his neck and slowly trailed down to his collarbones, his chest and his abs, planting a trail of kisses and nibbles all the way down there, and not satisfied after reaching his abs she decided to go even lower and give her boyfriend a special treat. You know the drill after that don't you? Bunch of pervs.
Planned scenes:
1- During the second chapter, pyrrha would accidentally let slip that she let him see his cleavage and sat on his lap on purpose just to turn him on, because she heard him and yang doing it earlier and wanted to do it too, jaune then 'punishes' pyrrha for being a dirty girl. (I don't need to describe it do i? You probably already read enough lemon to know what happened)
2- a scene where jaune does it with all four of them, but i can barely work with one girl, imagine trying to make a scene with four, i can't do that.
Fun facts:
1- This story is part of my 'lemonade collection' which are five lemon fics for each of the five main characters of my first fic, there's one for jaune, one for ren, one for adam, one for vergil and one for my OC dante. (I only put jaune's on the list cause his was the main one so we'll ignore the rest)
2- on chapter four, jaune found out that cinder's robotic arm has a vibrating function ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Do you like someone? No.
“Who do you like, Ash?” Misty asked one night. The original gang had set up their small camp, resting before going after Ash’s fourth gym badge.
Ash looked up from grooming Pikachu, who for once wasn’t whining like Ash was ripping out its fur in clumps, glancing at Misty through his eyelashes. The clinking of metal against metal in the small distance means dinner isn’t done yet so Ash can’t escape from her question.
“No one.” He answered easily. Moving to drop the fur brush and pick up a fine tooth comb for Pikachu's tail, the mouse Pokémon actually started purring at the sight of black plastic. Ash doesn’t look back up at Misty, even though he heard her disappointed sigh and the discord chime of Brock setting down the metal spoon with slightly more force than necessary.
Because Ash doesn’t like anyone, he never really needed to. It’s not something he should be worried about anything either, he’s only ten. It’s not like Ash doesn’t have more important things on his mind like when Team Rocket is going to surge up or when the next Godly encounter is. Ash is only ten years old, he’s fine with just focusing on his Pokémon and gym battles for now.
-----
“Do you have a special someone, Ash?” Max asked, popping up besides the older trainer who was filling his dish with the amazing smelling stew Brock made for lunch. “Like someone back home in Kanto?”
“Max!” Misty hissed, shoulders hunching as she tried to reach for her brother around the table to drag Max back to his spot next to her.
Ash lifted his eyes to where Brock was walking over after double checking that everything was off and no wild Pokémon was going to steal any leftovers in the closed pots. Brock lifted an eyebrow, his eyes held a curious glint to them.
He ducked his head back down, shoveling another spoon full before swallowing and facing Max. “No.” Was Ash’s slow response. He doesn’t really like-like anybody right now, and no one would be waiting for him back in Kanto. “I don’t like anyone and no one is waiting for me back home.”
The curious glint in Brock's eyes died down as he sat next to the raven haired teen. His hand coming out on reflex to mess up Ash’s hair, the shorter complained slightly before going back to his meal and Brock scooping some of his own out of the large pot on the table.
Max felt his older sister sag against him a little, glancing up he didn’t comment on the sour look on Mays face and turned back to his own delicious lunch with a quiet thanks to Brock.
——
“So…” Dawn drawled, rolling over on the hotel bed so she could look at Ash upside down, “anyone special in your life, Ash?” She immediately giggled when Pikachu poked her bare side with the edge of its tail.
Ash sighed and set down his phone on the coffee table next to the pair of chairs he’s sitting in and the large window. He chose to glare out the window a little bit, looking at all of the pretty lights shine and blink in the twin they’ve stopped in. If only Brock were here instead of going out to a strip club.
“No,” was Ash’s answer, dropping his head sideways onto his arm that’s thrown over the chairs back, “nobody has gained my interest yet.” To be honest with himself, Ash is a little bit worried. He’s fourteen now and not a single person has caught his eyes; female, male, or any other gender. None, absolutely nada. Is there something wrong with him?
“What about Zoey?” Dawn asked, rolling back over and eyeing the way Ash’s league suite made weird waves over Ash’s stomach. If only she could alter the suite, Ash would look ten times more better than whatever Champion Lance chose for Ash.
Groaning, Ash stood up. Bringing his arms above his head to stretch. “She’s a lesbian, Dawn.” He did a mock voice of the old lady from that one vine Dawn really liked to play when she’s bored.
Said girl immediately pushed her upper half up before twisting to look at Ash, all doe eyes and small smiles. “She is?”
“Room 103, second floor down the left side of the hallway.” Ash relayed like a robot. It wasn’t his fault that he was actually texting the same red head when Dawn asked him who he liked.
Dawn was jumping off the bed and pulling her shirt down before rounding said bed to lung at Ash. She pecked his cheek once he caught her before darting off and out the room. Leaving Ash and Pikachu alone in her wake.
——
“Do you fancy anyone, Ash?” Cilan asked one sunny day. The trio were out in the woods, stopping for lunch before continuing on to Ash’s fifth gym battle.
They had eaten and were now chilling by the small lake that was nearby. Pikachu was silently dozing in the sun next to Ash, the humans cap laying on the Pokémon’s head to block out the sunlight.
Ash’s face scrunched up in consideration before a frown marred his lips. “No,” he’s tone sounded dull to his ears as the same answer for the past sixteen years passed his lips. “No I don’t.”
Iris scoffed, sitting up on the other side of Cilan. “What a little kid!” She crowed our, ignoring Cilans weak glare, “only little kids don’t get crushes.” Iris declared. All the while eyeing Ash.
Said teen shrugged his shoulders, ignoring Iris’s petty attempt for a silly argument and the need to throttle her for the ‘kid’ comment. Ash’s hand that wasn’t supporting him came out to gently run his fingers over Pikachus fur, the Pokémon was so asleep it didn’t even twitch at the touch.
Scoffing at the lack of response, Iris later back down with a huff and rolling over to look away from both boys.
Cilan then took over and started to wax poet about why daring can be so good for the soul, or something.
Ash really didn’t care, so he kept silent and let his traveling partners do their own thing.
——
“Hey Ash!” Bonnie yelled suddenly. Wrenching herself away from Diantha’s side and bounding over the sand easily to reach the nineteen year old trainer.
“Ye-oof!” Ash huffed as he caught the excited little girl suddenly. “Yeah Bonni?” He croaked out, morning his Long Island that was now spilt into the sand. He felt a hand rest against his shoulders, turning back Ash met Professor Sycamore's knowing look as the man had bent down to grab the falling glass.
“Do you like anyone?” She yelled happily, pointedly glancing back at Serena who was sitting next to Miette and Alain. The contest girl had frozen up with an angered look directed at Bonnie.
Ash's smile felt like plastic, he was hoping he would be able to dodge the question but Aah should have guessed it would come up either way with Bonnie in the group. “Why,” Ash pauses, scooping the giggling girl up more into his arms, “I like everyone here! They are all my friends!” Ash was at least happy that he could direct the answer to something more friendly, he doesn’t think he would be able to deal with a sulking Serena for the rest of their travels.
Bonnie groaned in annoyance before requesting to be put down, Ash doing just that she then farted back over to Diantha who happily allowed the little girl to climb back up into the Champions hammock.
Ash pointedly ignored several staring eyes, going back over to the set up beach bar where Professor Sycamore and Malva are making another batch of Long Islands.
——
“Hey Ash,” Mallow greeted, planting herself right next to Professor Kukui’s Teacher Assistant. Said Teacher Assistant was sprawled out over a picnic blanket, an extra one he brought in case the larger one their teacher brought couldn’t hold all his students.
She waved to a group of girls she was familiar with as she waited for Ash to acknowledge Her. Ash was pretty determined to not do anything for this festival, choosing to lay down the extra blanket a little ways from all the festivals festivities. Unlucky for the twenty year old, it just made everyone that he knew on Melemele to slowly transfer their stuff next to him.
Sighing as Ash couldn’t ignore Mallow for too long before the young girl would lay herself over Ash’s back and whine extra loudly that he was ignoring her, he wiggles his arms under his chest so Ash could push up his upper half off the blanket.
“Yes, Mallow?” He grumbled. Ash also ignored the soft cries of resistance from Pikachu, who’s large head had fallen off of Ash’s shoulders.
“Do you like anyone?” Her innocent smile couldn’t cover her teasing smirk that was thrown over her shoulders.
From Ash’s position he could see Gladion, Hau, and Kiawe all freeze up at the green haired girls question. Dammit, Ash was hoping that he wouldn’t have to break hearts in Alola.
“No.” Aah was forceful in his answer. Starting it clearly with a final tone to Mallow, because if he didn’t surely Mallow would get Lana and Lillie into bothering him as well.
He ignored the broken looks of Gladion and Hau, and Ash didn’t even see Kaiwe’s shoulders slumping. Ash slid back down so his chest could press against the warm blanket with a half mumbled goodbye to Mallow, only smiling at Pikachu's soft cry of victory before the mouse Pokémon laid its head back into Ash’s upper back.
——
“Do you like anyone?” Gou was blunt with his question. Scorbunny next to Gou snuggled deeper into the over plushed and soft blankets of the hotel bed. The young’s teen was almost regretting letting Ash use him as his ‘plus one’ to a Gala in Galar.
The question just popped into Gou’s mind, after all Ash didn’t really do a lot at the Gala besides talk to people and dance with a few other higher up members like the Kalosian Champion Alain and the new Regional Professor Garrison Oak. All of which were just friends and old rivals of Ash when he was younger.
The twenty three year old Alola and Orange Isle Champion poke his head out of the extended bathroom. “Nope!” Was Ash’s answer before his head disappeared into the bathroom. Only to pop back out with a slight frown and eyes glistening with a little worry. “Nobody at the Gala assumes you and me were dating, if that’s what the question is referring to. You're too young for me and everyone knows I’m not into dating.”
Gou’s shoulders relaxed a little, to be honest he was worried about that. But it seemed it was all okay now. “Alright.” Gou mumbled back, feeling the lack of sleep the past few days fully hitting him now.
Chuckling, Ash slipped out of the bathroom. Trotting over in a pair of pj pants and a fully white robe draped over his shoulders. The young adult reached for the covered and Scorbunny, lifting the tiny Pokémon up Ash places Scorbunny on Gou’s chest before covering both of them with the hotel blanket.
“Get some sleep,” Ash stated quietly, one hand coming up to cup Gou’s cheek before carding through his raven hair once, “we’re leaving early tomorrow to head back to Kanto.” Ash pulled back before whispering good night to both Scorbunny and Gou.
Gou whispered goodnight back as he felt the bed dip and Pikachus bulking frame came into view before curling into the young researchers side

Entrapdak Secret Santa Stuff!
This is my secret Santa gift for @ari-draws-things (which apparently Tumblr hates linking too.) As part of @niuniente's secret Santa fun.
I couldn't decide on one thing to write so I decided to do a little compilation of these two being dorks.
=======
Coats
"This is completely unnecessary." Hordak notes with a bit of a grump in his voice as Entrapta finishes wrapping another piece of clothing around him. To keep him warm as she insists. Sweaters, coats, including a very long one, a scarf.
"It's really cold in the northern reach! And your body isn't the best! so we have to make sure you don't get cold!" Entrapta notes with complete sincerity. It is sort of sweet in a very overbearing and ridiculous way.
"It is not this much of a problem! The cold is barely of note, after all even my defective biology is much hardier than any Etherian!" He huffs.
"That's why I'm bundling up too! See!" Entrapta hops back, revealing her actually good looking winter weather attire. A modification of the cold weather gear that Force Captains are given access too. Of primary importance is the fact she is not wrapped up in numerous layers taken from seemingly random and disparate wardrobes.
"You are in something reasonable. Precision engineered and even aesthetically attractive thermal clothing. Meanwhile you have wrapped me in some kind of coat cocoon made from whatever you could find." Hordak grumbles as he wiggles his arms. It's all being worn over his armor, and even with the strength enchantment it still manages to be hard to move in.
"Aaawww." Entrapta's eyes sparkle. "You think I'm aesthetically attractive?!"
That causes Hordak to sputter and look away from Entrapta. "I… I do not find you aesthetically unattractive." He hears her giggle in response to him, then feels her lips touch his cheek in a gentle kiss which only serves to turn the warlord red.
Then she pulls the fluffy winter hat onto his head "there we go! Now the ensemble is complete!" Entrapta nearly shouts as she moves back to get a good look at Hordak's definitely very fashionable outfit..
Hordak grumbles, wiggling his arms a bit. "Entrapta this is ludicrous. I demand you free me from these garments." He says with a huff.
Finally after a moment Entrapta laughs. "Okay! The experiment is over anyway! It was a huge success!"
This garners sputtering from Hordak. "Experiment? What experiment?!"
"I wanted to see if you'd stop me from putting more and more coats on you! You didn't!" She smiles. "I think it's because you love and trust me!"
"WELL I DON'T NOW!" Hordak shouts dramatically, wiggling his limbs around. Entrapta gasps!
"We'll need to confirm that!" She adds before moving right up to Hordak and placing her forehead against his. The warlord manages a moment of defiance before he leans into it to nuzzle her gently. He does grumble while doing it though. It garners a giggle from Entrapta. "I'll help you get out of these now. Even though you look adorable!"
"Thank you." Hordak huffs, his face flushed red.
Hot Cocoa.
Etheria is notable for the micro climates and clear biomes which separate regions of the world. As such seasons within the confines of those biomes are quite mundane and samey compared to many of the other worlds that Hordak has visited. The Fright Zone barely notices any changes as time passes, always rather warm and dry. Hordak has been ensured however that it is currently winter time and thus extra cold.
It is not, but the people of the Horde seemingly arbitrarily deciding this doesn't actually affect anything. Thus, Hordak allows them to have their winter. No harm done, after all.
Until the climate control systems of the Fright Zone begin to malfunction and cool things below the normal controlled ambient. The moment it was noticed technicians were dispatched to deal with the problem but it is taking them some time, and the sanctum is for lack of a better term freezing.
Hordak is not going to be deterred by a little bit of cold however, in fact it's good for conductivity. With great stoicism he ignores the niggling in his brain that he should cover up his legs and back more. He is Lord Hordak and he is stronger then some air conditioning unit.
Just as he is about to give in and try to find a warmer room Entrapta bursts in. "Hordak!" She declares chipperly! "It's really cold!"
He looks back at her, she's carrying a tray of little cups. It's rather too ominous for just being a platter of cups. Likely an effect of the fact that Entrapta is generally speaking terrible with making anything that is supposed to be edible. "Yes, it is. The climate control system has suffered a malfunction it would seem."
"Well! Good news! The moment I noticed how cold it is, I decided to make us an instant fix! Hot cocoa!" She shouts the entire statement excitedly.
Hordak quirks a brow at her "As in… heated chocolate?"
"Yes! It's a drink! Milk! Chocolate! Marshmallows! It'll warm us right up!" She insists as she steps forth, holding up the tray of drinks to Hordak.
There's a long moment of staring and debating this. He has had chocolate before and while it is not his favorite it also is not terrible. The idea of it as a warm liquid isn't much better but it also isn't much worse. Making Entrapta happy is definitely a good thing though, and this also might help to warm his core. There is also the fact that Entrapta herself made it too, which on the one hand is a very sweet thing but on the other could spell disaster for Hordak's digestive tract.
After some internal debate Hordak reaches out to take one of the small cups of hot cocoa, carefully bringing it to his lips to take a sip. The hot liquid hits his tongue, his tastebuds fire.
Hordak spits it out immediately. Entrapta yelps in surprise. "You spit it out?!"
"How did you burn a liquid!?" Hordak responds. "This is not chocolate anymore this is some sort of liquid ash!" He ponders the taste for a moment more. "With subtle hints of arsenic."
"I am sure I did it right! I used science to make it!"
That comment garners a blink from the clone. "You just told me it was just chocolate, milk, and marshmallows! How did that require science?"
"Well I had to make it all from scratch! From stuff I found around the Fright Zone!"
Hordak can only groan. "There are basic food preparation supplies available to you." He states.
"Yeah but I wanted to make it special!" Entrapta pouts. "I sabotaged the air conditioning for nothing now."
Hordak blinks. "You what?!"
Mistletoe
"So we are supposed to have this plant hung up over a doorway and then if we pass under it at the same time we kiss?" Hordak asks as he looks over the bundle of green in his hand.
"well actually it's that you're socially allowed to kiss anyone standing under mistletoe!" Entrapta notes as she lifts herself up to also observe the plant.
"I see." Hordak nods slowly, then he asks the key question. "Why?"
"I don't really know! I guess it's because people like kissing!"
"I only like kissing you." Hordak replies with a sure nod.
Suddenly Entrapta's cheeks go red. "That's surprisingly forward of you!" She speaks loudly.
Hordak blinks, a blush graces him as well. His ears angle down in embarrassment. "I uh… well I mean…" then suddenly the mutually bashful moment is broken.
"Wait! If you only like kissing me does that mean you have tested it? Hordak have you kissed other people?!" Entrapta's voice is genuinely curious, almost excited to find out. It makes Hordak's ears pin against his head.
"Uh. Well… I have been on Etheria for some time… there have been intimate encounters." He looks away from her, embarrassment filling him.
"Oh wow! I never considered that…" Entrapta hmms and moves around him, as if taking stock of him now.
This time Hordak gets to speak up though. "Wait! Why not? What would make that something to not be considered?!" He turns to follow her with his gaze.
Then suddenly the mistletoe is plucked from him hands and held above him in a lock of purple hair. Hordak's surprise only increases when Entrapta's lips are suddenly pressed against his own. He soon accepts the kiss though, leaning back into it.
When their lips part Entrapta speaks. "I thought only I had such good taste!" She speaks, then giggles.
The warlord blinks, staring at Entrapta for a moment. "Who has been teaching you to flirt? That was very self assured and forward."
"Did you like it? Imp has been helping me!" She beams back at him, proud.
"I did. It was very effective. The use of the mistletoe was quite inspired as well."
"I improvised that part! I'm glad you liked it!"
Hordak nods again, then suddenly reaches out to pull Entrapta close and kiss her again. She meeps in surprise for just a moment before leaning into it.
"I may like this backwater holiday tradition." Hordak notes quietly after they break once more. Their foreheads pressed together.
"I like it too." Entrapta sighs happily.

ok no prob ^^ what about a 'we should kiss just to break the tension' kinda fic?
[Okay so when I received this I had a really fun little idea that didn’t perfectly match the quote - if it’s supposed to be a quote, I wasn’t sure - and I felt my inspiration… may trump my uncertainty about possibly not quite meeting anon’s expectations for this fic… Very sorry in advance!]
He’d thought things were finally back to normal.
Ash Ketchum was not what one would call particularly observant. He himself had admitted on at least one occasion already to not fully understand the female, or rather one specific female’s, mind… But he’d seen Misty bristle in irritation when Melody introduced herself on Shamuti Island’s beach and he’d inwardly blanched at the redhead’s aggravated and curt response when he’d asked her to join him in fulfilling his role as the so-called chosen one in the Shamuti Island legend.
Lugia had since returned to their deep sea home, the other legendary birds had retreated to their respective islands, all of the Pokemon that had journeyed to the supposed end of the world had begun to withdraw… Ash and friends, including his mom and Professor Oak, had spent one final night on Shamuti to nurse their thankfully small wounds and new emotional scars. A feast was thrown and everyone who’d had a part in securing the three elemental orbs that quelled their respective titans’ fury had retired to bed rather early.
And, by end of next day, Misty was back to glaring daggers and offering little more than argumentative commentary whenever they shared the same space.
Ash sighed, squinted up at the twinkling stars from his position at the rear deck of the ferry he and his friends were riding on to reach their next destination. Honestly he was too tired to be playing detective. There was a reason he’d opted to take a ferry instead of sailing to Pummelo on Lapras…
Speaking of tired, he yawned, standing to his full height and stretching. There was no point speculating on Misty and her weird moods. He did hope though that whatever she was going through would resolve itself before he completed the Orange League. Truth be told, it was nice to think of her cheering him on…
“–Ack!” The half-formed complaint formed in Misty’s throat as he turned and knocked straight into her.
“Mwah! Sorry! I… oh, Misty.”
“Geez, Ash, look where you’re going! And don’t sound like you wanna take back your apology just ‘cause it’s me you ran into!” she rebuffed briskly, turning her nose up at him.
“Uh, what’re ya doin’ here? It’s pretty late to be wandering around,” he replied almost sheepishly instead, choosing to ignore her attitude.
“I was going to the bathroom, not that it’s any of your business. I thought I’d take the outdoor route since the ocean at night is so nice to look at,” she told him almost absentmindedly, though he saw the twinkle in her eyes as she confessed her admiration. “But I could ask you the same thing. You can’t be this restless after everything we just went through, right?”
For half a second, he wondered to himself if that was concern he’d heard in her voice.
“Actually I was just going to bed, was thinking about some stuff but I’m done now.”
It was awkward. For all of his lack of knowledge and experience dealing with Misty Things™, even Ash could feel the air thicken with restrained hostility. Neither of them moved, not even to create enough space for the other to pass them by.
“Well, see ya in the morning then,” she told him in that same curt tone he’d practically gotten used to (again, for she’d all but ceased in using it since the first few months of their travels together… and honestly, what kind of friend acts that way for no reason), her gaze sharp as she stared him down.
“Hey wait!” he practically shouted, even going so far as to grab her hand and pull her softly back, forcing her to face him. Well, sorta. She refused to look him in the eye all of a sudden, and he swore her face looked a lot redder than what was normal.
“Wh - what?”
“Is something the matter? You’ve been treating me weird the past couple days.”
“Wh - huh?” she responded blankly, though the lack of ire lasted mere seconds before her brow knitted in irritation, lips pursing to keep herself from saying anything she’d regret too much as she tugged herself free from him and placed blunt and somewhat callused fists on her hips. “Why of course not, Mr. Pokemon Master. Don’t be silly! I’m treating you normal.”
No, you’re not, he thought automatically, somewhat frustrated but not enough to risk raising her temper by calling her out aloud.
No, I’m not, she internally relented but she shouldn’t have to point the obvious out to him and, really, she wasn’t emotionally prepared to be that open with him anyway. Maybe things would just have to be unfriendly between the two of them for awhile yet. They’d gotten through a rough patch before, right? They could do it again.
Because how could she tell him the reason she was so upset was due to another girl coming on to him? Kissing him on the cheek? Not to mention twice!
It hadn’t seemed to phase Ash quite as much the second time around but Misty, having only just found it in her to be honest about his importance to her, had not planned for Melody’s second attack just before their departure from Shamuti Island. The redhead had half a mind to ask if that had been more for her response than his but hadn’t gotten the opportunity.
But perhaps the most shocking part of it all was that Ash noticed anything was wrong to begin with. The only hope she had now was to keep from giving him anymore clues. About anythi--
--She was interrupted by a three or so second long soft and rather chapped pressure against her left cheek.
Wide-eyed, breath stifled somewhere between her lungs and throat, the redhead clamped both hands quickly over the victimized part of her face, doing her best to form an accusation.
“Wh - wha... what’re you doing, Mr. Pokemon Master? What was that?!” she whispered in an oddly high-pitched voice, face burning as bright as her hair looked, mind turning a little gooey despite her best attempts to stay vigilant.
“Uh... I guess it was a... kiss?” he replied, his face scrunching a little in distaste of the admission. He didn’t offer her anymore information off the bat, perhaps focusing more on his own reaction to such a choice. He’d never done that before after all, for anyone, and had never even been tempted in the past.
But while Misty had been thinking hard about Melody’s final transgression against her, kissing Ash on his cheek a second time before he and his friends left her home island, while she’d been resigning herself to her reigning temper and temporary fear that he’d somehow manage to put two and two together to figure out her feelings, he had returned to playing detective.
And the fact that he’d kept circling back to was that Misty had been angry again by the time their group left Shamuti. And she’d been angry within minutes of them first arriving on Shamuti. And somewhere towards the end of their latest perilous adventures in the archipelago region, she’d temporarily gotten over that feeling. So her anger didn’t seem to be tied to frustration over him getting caught up in something dangerous, nor did it have to do with her part in saving him from that something dangerous...
He’d acted instinctively, so swiftly after coming to his conclusion, that he too hadn’t had time to mentally prepare for its ramifications before kissing her chastely, intimately, on her cheek... just as Melody had done to him.
“But why did you kiss me, you dummy?” she practically squealed, eyes glinting though he couldn’t tell what emotion was clouded behind them.
“It, uh... I dunno,” he finally confessed after trying and failing to find a better excuse. “But you’ve been mad ever since Melody kissed me so... I figured this would help break the tension.”
Break the...
“You... Agh, Ash Ketchum!” she wailed finally in response, stomping her foot against the ferry’s deck and wishing desperately that it was his dumb face.
“Mwah! Was I wrong?” he yelped, leaping back a step, momentarily pursing his lips together afterwards as he replayed the moment where he leaned in and pressed them against her cheek, eyes squinting tightly shut. Weirdly, he hadn’t much minded such a gross decision but there was no time or energy to dwell on that at present.
“Gah! Of course you...” she began in reply, fists formed and looking mightily prepared to fight against something. But her anger burned to fumes rather quickly as she looked the oddly nervous boy up and down before it hit her... that he had no idea how deep this whole thing went, he couldn’t possibly fathom the details. He simply thought things were resolved now.
What a nice thought that was.
“... Maybe... you’re right, Ash.”
“I - I am?”
Misty sighed, blinking her eyes closed as they threatened to roll out of her head. A little romantic voice was screeching in joy at the back of her mind, the part of her that had knowingly declared herself to be Ash’s protector not more than two days ago. Most of her still seethed at his audacity to decide a kiss from him would quell her passionate fury but...
“Let’s just... call it even,” she abated, smiling faintly for the first time in at least a day, hands up in defeat.
He squinted suspiciously at her, unsure how to counter. Call it even... What had been uneven to begin with? He still didn’t know. Maybe such things were for the best. It was weird that his redheaded companion, usually so capable of holding a grudge, was acting so suddenly forgiving. But was it a good idea to look a gift Ponyta in the mouth? He certainly didn’t mind the idea of things returning to normal... even if a part of him now felt as though something different and new was burgeoning from deep down.
But Ash Ketchum has never been the observant type. And he generally had little to no patience for Misty Things™.
“Well, that’s good then... So we should go to bed?” he asked hopefully, pointing in the direction of the room their group was sharing.
“Oh, uh, you first. I still have to take care of something, y’know?” she replied, face tinged red once more for reasons unrelated to her romantic scope, reminding him what had made her venture out of bed in the first place.
Her rather smooth response reassured him that things would be fine though as they went their separate ways.
And by next morning, all was normal, mostly because both of them had convinced themselves that the kiss had either been some weird fantasy or some unexpected dream they had no option but to shake off.
But good luck trying to figure out who thought which.

Best Wishes
(I know it's Black and White in english but Best Wishes is a better name) So! Best Wishes Season 1, what do I think so far. Well at the end of the last season I noted that unlike most I liked Unova, but thought it was the only bad gen. Now that I have seen the first season I changed my mind, I don't even think it was bad. Now don't get me wrong, it was definately a step down from Sinnoh, and when Best Wishes messes up it messes up, but as a whole, pretty good so far. Let's start from the top, Ash, is he reset. Answer, no, he does however make a lot of dumb mistakes he shouldn't. Remember how XY kinda remembers BW never happened with it's portrayal of Ash? Kinda feels like BW is doing that with DP, but at the end of the day that really just means he retreads learning stuff he already did in DP, nothing TOO terrible. Iris... tbh I never got the Iris hate? She's like Misty, but with Character development? so better? I really only found her Ash belittling annoying when it's about stuff someone not from Unova logically wouldn't know. Cilan, perfection, nuff said. When I was about to go into this I was like "Just cling to Cilan and Pikachu, they're what make it good" (still think that but add Bianca and Oshawott). Trip, ah Trip, this is where the praise ends. I'd say Trip is one of the biggest flaws of this series. First off, he REALLY shouldn't be a newbie trainer, or if he needed to be he should be a minor rival like Bianca or Stephan. Also I can't talk about Trip without mentioning that infamous Snivy battle. I do still believe people need to remember Zekrom's part in making Pikachu lose, but even with that in mind there are 2 major flaws. 1: Trip, REALLY shouldn't be a newbie trainer, his personality doesn't work for it. If they want a guy running around talking about how much better they are than your protagonist, don't make them way less experienced than your protagonist, and 2: Their attempts to say this is a fluke and an outlier, fall flat when plain and simple, it's not an outlier. If they wanted to convey that it was they shouldn't have had Pikachu lose to him again in their 2nd battle. If I were to give the 2 biggest flaws of this gen so far, it'd be Trip as a rival, and the battle logic, while if I were to give the 2 biggest positives, that would be the humor and Pokemon. I just worry, cause if I remember right, things kinda go downhill from here. I know I have the Virbank gym to be disappointed in next season, but the Meloetta arc is also next season, which I remember being my favorite part of the gen, so we'll see. But anywho, after this unusually long review, let's see those stats!~ Pokemon            Total Fights              Wins              Losses                     % Pikachu                     26                        22                     4                      85% Oshawott                  14                         8                      6                      57% Tepig                        12                         7                      5                      55% Snivy                         7                         4                      3                      57% Tranquil                     5                          2                     3                       40% Krokorok                   4                          1                      3                      25% Swadloon                  4                          3                      1                      75% Roggenrola                3                          2                      1                      67% Palpitoad                   3                          2                      1                      67% Scraggy                     2                          1                      1                     50% Total Fights: 80 So first thing you may notice is Pikachu... BW Pikachu is known for being weaker than before and losing a lot so I'm sure we expected a pretty ugly win rate, but that? That's... average... 4 losses isn't even the worst he's done. So turns out Pikachu didn't lose any more than usual, but every time was exceptionally memorable. I walked into this season saying "Snivy battle, rematch, Panpour gym match, and Iris' Excadrill, I know 4 losses off the top of my head, who knows how many more there were" but, those 4 are the only ones, so went better than expected! (didn't stop his overall win rate from dropping to 87%) The next thing you may notice, but probably aren't surprised by, is everyone else. Das pretty bad X3 altho funnily enough, aside from Infernape, all his Sinnoh Pokemon would fit right in with their overall win rates. Also aren't there a lot of team members this season? This is the first time since Kanto, and last time as of this post where Ash 1: Catches more than 6 Pokemon in a region, and 2: sees all of them in the first season. He hasn't caught Krokorok yet, but he's appeared a few times already, plus he's caught the rest of the team. Speaking of which, if you were looking at Krokorok's low win rate and were like "Wait, I thought Krokorok was one of Ash's star players for Unova, why is his win rate so low?" that's why, he hasn't caught him yet, pretty sure 2 of those losses are Pikachu. I'm not sure who I feel more sorry for, Oshawott, or Snivy. Oshawott, like Piplup last gen, is the punching bag this gen. He gets KOd as a gag a lot, that being part of the reason his rate is so low (not bad considering like, half of those losses were gags). But on the other hand, Snivy has the same win rate, even though she doesn't have any gag losses. (Also unrelated but Snivy and Oshawott are great). Pretty good overall battle count too, believe that gets it 5th overall. Also I think I forgot to mention it, but part of why I doubt anything will beat Sinnoh with it's total battle count is it's the last 4 season gen. But I think that's all for now, Join me next time for Rival Destinies, which hopefully won't see a quality drop :'3

I was talking with @blue-maelstrom and @pocket-pickett about Pokemon and the potential SwSh leaks and which versions we were going to get plus our starters (I think all three of us are going to get sword, I’m picking Sobble and both of them are picking Scorbunny, if I remember correctly.)
But then we started talking about how we felt about each of the generations of games, and I found it interesting the differences in our game preferences! They can tell you specifically their favorites, and while we didn’t talk much about gens 1-3 (which I know we all agree are very good, either because of nostalgia or actual quality) our favorites between 4-7 varied quite a bit.
I know we’re different people, so this shouldn’t actually surprise me, but it made me think about what my favorites in order would be, if we counted all the games in the main series (so that doesn’t include games like the Pokemon Dungeon series, Pokemon Rangers, Pokemon Stadiums, Coliseum, or Gale of Darkness, that weird one that had the Samurai, Trozei and Puzzle League and Hey You Pikachu and Pokemon Channel and Pokemon Let’s Go and Pokemon Rumble, and more that I can’t think of off the top of my head...so...yeah...)
And this is what I came up with:
This list includes games from Gen 1 to Gen 7...including the gen 1-3 remakes because Gen7 sort of made them back to be part of the mainline canon instead of just remakes: (1) Gen 2; Silver (reason: nostalgia) (2) Gen 3 remake Alpha Sapphire (3) Gen 1 original Yellow (4) Gen 3 original Sapphire (5) Gen 2 Crystal (6) Gen 7 Sun (7) Gen 5 Black 2 (8) Gen 6 X (9) Gen 1 remake FireRed (10) Gen 2 remake SoulSilver (11) Gen 5 Black (12) Gen 4 Pearl (13) Gen 3 Emerald NEVER PLAYED: Red, Blue, Gold, Ruby, Diamond, Platinum, White, White 2, Y, Omega Ruby, Moon, Ultra Moon, Ultra Sun
EXPLANATIONS AND ANALYSIS UNDER THE CUT
If not for nostalgia, Silver would probably fall down to number 3, and Alpha Sapphire and original Yellow would be pushed up to 1 and 2.
Also, this is actually reordered a bit from the version I sent to @pocket-pickett and @blue-maelstrom because I’ve thought about it more. Basically, I moved the FireRed and SoulSilver down further and moved up Sun, Black 2, and X and reordered those.
I never got to play Red and Blue because I didn’t have any money as a child (They came out when I was 6 years old, I didn’t get my first Gameboy until I was 8 years old, and my parents bought me Yellow version). The very first Pokemon game I bought for myself was Sapphire. So I missed the cultural milestone that was Red and Blue.
Up through Gen 3 I would get one version and my sister would get the other so we could trade Pokemon and find out the differences in story...so, while she also got Yellow as her first game, she got Gold and Ruby while I got Silver and Sapphire. I also got Crystal and Emerald because I was more into Pokemon than she was. FireRed came out and even though my sister didn’t want to play anymore, I definitely wanted the chance to play through the original game with the choice of the original starters, so it didn’t matter to me that she wasn’t playing with me (though I think at that point none of my friends were playing either...I didn’t know anybody who had LeafGreen, at least).
By the time Gen 4 came out, I was definitely the only one I knew who was still playing Pokemon and I was definitely buying the games for myself. Interestingly, this was also the only time I went against my gut (which told me to buy Diamond) and I bought Pearl. This was my least favorite generation. I honestly don’t remember anything about the plot at all, nor any of the gym leaders, your rival, or any other characters. I didn’t like the new evolutions for previous Pokemon that didn't evolve (like Tangela to Tangrowth, Nosepass to Probopass, Misdreaveous to Mismagius, Sneasel to Weaville...etc) or making baby-regular to baby-regular-third (like Elekid-Electabuzz to Electrovere, Magby-Magmar to Magmortar, and Magnemite-Magneton to Magnezone...etc) which is kinda weird because I like the new  Alolan and Galarian forms because I think region divergent evolutions is incredibly cool...though I kinda don't like new Galarian evolutions to older lines (like Farfetch’d to Sirfetch’d or Zigzagoon-Linoone to Obstagoon?) I guess that falls into what I thought about before. The only thing I remember liking is Lucario, and that’s mostly because I honestly enjoyed the Pokemon movie Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.
Point is, if I had no one to play with I didn’t see the point in purchasing Diamond (which would be basically the same as Pearl except with exclusive Pokemon) or Platinum (because I didn’t like the game too much.) ...I guess I was also in my genwunner phase really hard at that point...so I’m not sure I would have liked any new Pokemon game...though I guess my genwunner phase also included gens 2 and at least part of 3, though I remember being dismissive towards at least some of gen 3. Either way, I didn’t like Gen 4, and I don’t to this day. I’m actually looking forward to the remakes whenever those come out so I can revisit the plot and the Pokemon with fresh eyes, now that I’m no longer a genwunner and don’t care whether or not I have friends who play.
SoulSilver came out on Pi Day my senior year in high school and by then, Pokemon was cool again (I was considered a Pokemon Master by the other kids in my grade, even though I had friends who were far better players than I. I was just well known for my continued love of Pokemon. I had people asking me advice when they all brought their gameboy colors and Pokemon yellow games into French class.) My friends and I all went to the mall to get either SoulSilver or HeartGold (yay! I had people to trade with again!) and then we went to my friend Maggie’s house, ate a bunch of pie, watched Pokemon the abridged series for one or two episodes, and played the original Pokemon monopoly before going back to our own houses to begin playing our new games. It’s one of my best memories of high school. SoulSilver was a nice trip down memory lane, and I loved it a lot because it was a remake of my favorite game and for the first time since Yellow, your Pokemon could follow behind you! But honestly? If my memory serves it was nothing special.
For Gen 5 I was in college and had new friends who played Pokemon. We made our way to the Prudential Center, which still had a Gamestop when Pokemon Black and White came out. I was in casual Ash Ketchum cosplay (No binder or wig, just the hat and gloves and Ash’s shirts and jeans. My hair was in a ponytail pulled through the back of the cap. I think I might have carried my Pokedex in my pocket too. RIP to that Pokedex...I may buy another one someday because it was my favorite prop.) We all bought either Black, White, or both and went to California Pizza Kitchen for lunch. I remember something about one of my friend’s being another’s “dipping sauce bitch” and there is definitely a picture of it on Facebook.
With regards to the actual game, and to Black 2 when that came out, I LOVED Team Plasma, even though I can never remember they are called Team Plasma, and N...though I sort of wish that the plot was related to an actual team who felt that Pokemon fighting was wrong (like N did for most of the game) and not that sort of evil puppetry...but I did also like the plot as it was. I also remember really liking some of the stuff they did with the graphics at the time. I don’t remember anything at all about any of the gym leaders or other characters. I also don’t remember the point of Black Kyurem and White Kyurem. I always think I remember less of Black/White than I do. So that was actually a generation I liked...though unless I think about what happened in it, my instinct is that it’s forgettable.
Pokemon X and Y are similar - it is a generation I definitely liked but my instinct is that it was forgettable. Yet again, I remember nothing about the gym leaders or the characters except Team Flare Red Hair Guy and Professor Friendo who totally trusted Team Flare Red Hair Guy and was like, “Haha - you joker, you’re hilarious” when Team Flare Red Hair Guy said “I’m going to destroy the entire fucking world.” I also remember going WAY TOO FAST on roller skates, being excited that you could finally customize your trainer, the fact that it was PokeFrance, and that you could give your Furfrou a haircut. I also remember the “It’s been 3000 years” thing that turned into a meme. Again, I loved this generation.
I didn’t get White, White 2 or Y for similar reasons that I never got Gold, Ruby, or Diamond - they were the Other Game, and I didn’t feel, plot-wise, the need to get essentially the same game save minor differences twice for completion’s sake.
ORAS is my absolute favorite game in the main series so far. It’s a remake of what I think is the best generation without looking through nostalgia goggles, the graphics are the best up to this point, it’s fun to revisit the whole Team Aqua - Team Magma thing that was so different from the other one-team-taking-over-the-world thing the other games had, as well as revisiting some fun features like Dive that never really came up again (I liked Dive...I don’t know if anyone else did lol). It brought back contests, which I always thought were a lot of fun, and SECRET BASES! But then...but then! The Delta Episode. The Delta Episode was STUNNING and began to bring a coherency to the entire Pokemon franchise that really hadn’t been there before. And my heart absolutely SOARED. Brilliant.
(I didn’t get Omega Ruby for, again, the same reasons as the other “Other Games”)
Then came Sun and Moon. I LOVED Sun! It had beautiful graphics, they were trying out new things (even if I didn’t think the trials really worked out gameplay wise, I was glad they tried!) The characters were amazing! I loved Hau and Lillie. Gladion was my precious emo child oh my goodness. Lusamine is amazingly crazy. Team Skull was a brilliant Team-Rocket-Wannabe made of millenials who actually just wanted a place to fit in. The designs of all the characters were incredible. I loved the idea of Alolan forms and divergent Pokemon evolution. The only thing was that there are now so many Pokemon I can’t even recognize them all. Through X and Y, even if I can’t name all the Pokemon, I can recognize them all if you show my a picture. That is...not true of all the ones in Sun and Moon. I also never really understood why they differentiated Ultra Beasts by calling them “Ultra Beasts” instead of just like...Pokemon from other dimensions? Because wasn’t, technically, Giratina also from another dimension? But that leads me to the fact that I adored that the alternate dimensions bit from the Delta Episode was further expanded on. Just <3 <3 <3.
I never played Moon (or, I suppose, Ultra Moon), again, as the “Other Game” reason...but the only reason I never played Ultra Sun was...I didn’t have the money to buy it. I’m a Real Adult now...but I’m also a Real Adult with a severe problem handling money appropriately and a mental illness that keeps me from holding down a job that allows me to actually buy little things like video games...it’s easier to justify spending money I don’t have on things like clothes or going out to eat...or even little things like a keychain because, hey, I need clothes and food, and that keychain is only $6...and a new video game is AT LEAST $60...and $60 is a lot. Basically....I’m bad at money and don’t have any to spend anyway.
That’s why I’m saving up for SwSh...I think I’ll probably get Sword because that’s what my gut is telling me. I hope that, if my sister (who is finally back into Pokemon!!!) gets one, she’ll get Shield. Though if she really wants Sword, I am probably going to get Shield just so we have opposite games again. Unlike Pearl and Diamond, where my gut told me to get Diamond but I got Pearl...my gut feeling for Sword versus Shield isn’t as strong as that. It’s a preference, not a deep sort of...something.
In every other generation, I had my head and my gut, which were usually aligned, telling me which version to get. (Aligned: Silver, Sapphire, FireRed, SoulSilver, Black, Black 2, X, Omega Sapphire. Unaligned: Diamond (gut) vs Pearl (head); Sun (gut) vs Moon (head). Pearl purchased, head over gut, Game disliked. Sun purchased, gut over head, Game liked.) I dunno if it means anything, but it’s been a pattern. For SwSh, my head and guy are aligned again, but they’re saying “I’d prefer Sword, but Shield is good too.” So I don’t know how to take that.
At the end of the day, and the end of this long analysis of the machinations of my mind with regards to Pokemon, I only have two things to say: (1) Pokemon is good and I love it and (2) I really want a Pokemon Coliseum/XD: Gale of Darkness reboot.
