Danny is from a world where everyone has wings, even if most have long since lost the ability to fly. Something about loading and aspect ratio, wings being too small, body too heavy, now mostly used as display, whatever. 

It doesn’t matter even if he had blueprints from when he was like six of a jetpack to help fly. It won’t work anyway and hey, he has his ghost form! Which uh, might be perhaps, affecting his wings which were maybe sort of scorched black and practically down to the bone thanks to the accident. 

It doesn’t matter, he swears. Though he’s admittedly relieved to see the new feathers growing in are different from Dan’s angry sunset. Even if they’re not even supposed to be able to grow back. Alright, this is fine, no one is going to notice! It’s not like everyone knows about the poor Fenton kid whose wings were absolutely destroyed thanks to an accident! It’s fine. 

He’s not flying in a half-panic towards the Far Frozen while crying because his wings are coming back and he’s so scared. He didn’t panic and instantly fled the moment Jazz pointed them out while changing the bandages. 

He definitely didn’t trip over something while wiping away said tears and blacking out from all the stress and all of his problems that he definitely mentioned to someone and isn’t keeping a secret. Definitely. 

Hawkwoman and Hawkman would like everyone to know that neither of them were expecting a very small child to be spat out of the villain of that week’s machine that should definitely not be a portal. A very small child, maybe nine or ten, with a multitude of concerning wounds both old and fresh. Which isn’t even beginning to touch on the wings. 

Feathered, like baby down despite the gnarled scars, unlike their own metallic, with the beginning of tiny specklings like stars amidst the darker fuzz peeking from the wounded flesh. 

Who?! Who dared?! It’s (at least to the forever reincarnating duo) a literal baby! They still have down! Tiny baby fuzz! Was it the portal?! Oh this villain is going to taste their maces for causing this if that’s the case! 

The rest of the Justice League would honestly like to know what just happened and are honestly unsure on if they should stop the two…

Mikey and Leo episode centered around Mikey wanting to push Leo and Draxum together since Leo’s the most reluctant to give Draxum any grace (for good reason!) But, thinking on the spot, Leo says he’s gotta go do something for Hueso and “just can’t hang out right now 😔” (yes, he says the emoji out loud.)

Mikey calls his bluff and now the three of them (Mikey having grabbed a weary Draxum along) go to Hueso’s to find that yes, he actually does have a job for him. Said job asks for Leo to go with Hueso to deliver multiple pizzas to this giant yokai quite a distance away, and Hueso figured it would probably go better with Leo’s help (emphasis on probably.)

Well, Mikey decides that this would be a great bonding opportunity for them and basically invites he and Draxum along. Unfortunately for Leo, Hueso doesn’t care enough to wave away more help, though he does side-eye the wanted criminal Baron Draxum coming with them. But who is he to judge? (This choice has consequences.)

The journey goes about as terribly as you’d expect, but at least the pizzas get delivered on time.

The version of Epic Winter that exists in my head.

Like if it’s still about development with Daring, it could work in focusing on him trying to deal with his whole worldview and sense of purpose being shattered, by his own sister.

His entire identity, his sense of self, his pride, center around being destined to be Apple’s Trophy Husband Prince Charming. And in this most important moment of his life? He failed. Who is he without that? And he can’t even comfortably blame the person who “stole” his destiny because it’s his sister. And Darling is a knight like she wanted AND a Prince Charming. And it’s not like he was ever romantically interested in Apple really. How can he not be happy for her? But how can he be happy if it feels like his sister’s success comes at the cost of his failure? Like Daring SHOULD be upset and confused by this. He may not have been Apple-level fanatical about Destiny but his whole life was still built on a destiny that was false.

So like Daring discovering himself and that being his development would be really cool!

And it could even work with the version of Rosabella that exists in my head but that’s a separate post. It’d be a friendship development though because I wouldn’t want it to end with Daring just entering a new relationship since that just kinda feels like him jumping from one “True Love” to another.

personally i don’t have an opinion of either ship. obviously ship what you want, i really couldn’t give a shit less-but how come people are so pressed on people shipping cherry and ponyboy romantically because cherry is sixteen going on seventeen and pony has been fourteen for a month but no one bats an eye at people shipping johnny, who would canonically be almost sixteen and a half, with ponyboy who’s been fourteen for a month? it honestly doesn’t make sense.

I think some inherent comfort of the party’s relationship, of why they’re so tightly knit and wholesome, is that it’s kinda the embodiment of "people that care for each other unconditionally, so much so that you could be the biggest freak on Earth and they would still not turn their back to you". Like, Laios’ whole character arc is that he was scared of others and their judgement, that he should hide a big part of himself and his interests to be tolerated if not accepted… But showing himself to others was the road through which the party bonded and got closer, and by the end of the story Laios literally turns into his monster because it was his biggest wish and everyone sees it and also he eats his human body a lot. After that he runs to the woods and is so scared of everyone not wanting to see him again, but y’know what. It’s fine his party still loves him, and aghhhh ouch my heart

I think also, Izutsumi was central to the party having a found family feel. The party was mostly made of work colleagues acquaintances, but adopting a stray/teenager that has no one on the way in your grand adventure really makes the whole family vibe skyrocket.

googled the acolyte (a mistake but i needed to double checking the name of the composer) and it is so fucking disheartening to see all the top news headlines are about how much backlash it’s getting, the racism the actors are facing, how it has the lowest rotten tomatoes score out of any of the sw shows, etc etc.

like is it a perfect show? no. but am i enjoying it? is it fun and (so far) intriguing? yeah! and it just pisses me off that bc a bunch of straight white men can’t handle seeing a black person on screen, or a woman, or a queer person, that the show is probably going to have a hard time recovering from the bad reviews and responses. which means, even though we’re in a timeline that is ripe for brand new stories with brand new characters (and doesn’t rely on nostalgia bait cameos) there’s a chance of it only getting one season.

bc the dudebros think that having people on screen who don’t represent them specifically means it’s “forced diversity.” even though, if they wanted someone in star wars who looked like them, they literally have the rest of star wars to consume.
