hi nicholas! i hope your having a nice day. i have to sound very stupid for a minute, but i could not find a clear answer and im hoping you can help me out. other than being attracted to trans people, what exactly is it that designates someone to be a "chaser" ? i know there ARE distinctions, im just in the dark about the issue and i'd rather not be. it seems like indifference to trans experiences might be part of it, judging by your recent tags? thank you for the help if you answer this 🙏
For me, a "chaser" is someone who is attracted to transness in ways that objectify the trans person, seek to control how they present, and even invalidate their identity.
In my own experience with my BFF-turned-abuser, he framed me as a "safe" (ie, no balls touching) way to engage with his bisexuality. Whenever he called me "best of both worlds", I felt reduced to my vagina. He was obsessed with me staying twinky and non-threatening to his own masculinity, to the point of him discouraging me from starting T. My transness was a dirty little secret to him and he was ashamed whenever I tried to stop being stealth, even among friends. He wanted to control my presentation so that I could satisfy his fetishes. I never felt like a man around him. All this and we never even fucked. (I was not interested in him sexually, thank god.)
Compare to my spouse, who engages with me sexually with an understanding and respect of my boundaries, and who has never sought to control how I present myself to the world. I feel validated and safe, and being told my dick is hot feels like it being attached to *me* only magnifies any of its inherent eroticism.
We all have our preferences and, yeah, trans bodies are hot in some cool and unique ways that can make people go feral. That's cool and can actually be affirming and sexy. But it becomes a problem when you only treat people as their parts, and especially when you treat them as sinful secrets, despite your own enjoyment.
Trans women tend to be far more eloquent on the subject, and I encourage you to find and listen to what they say here, am happy to amplify any comments on the matter.

(Non)Humanity and Species Dysphoria: the Forced Transformation Trope
Written by Gavin Reed-Machina on August 25, 2024.
As a nonhuman, do you ever think about why there's so many stories and myths and legends about humans being turned into animals? You ever wonder why it's usually a punishment or a curse, or why the characters try to do whatever it takes to become human again? You ever think, "I don't understand, I would love to be an animal and get rid of my human body, what's the problem?"
As a human myself, one whose system has been in the alterhuman community for years, I hope I can help bridge the gap of understanding here.
The way many humans see being turned into an animal as a curse, the way they'd be incredibly distressed about becoming nonhuman?
That is species dysphoria.
That is a human experiencing species dysphoria, because being perceived as nonhuman or other-than-human causes the exact same feelings of pain and wrongness and disconnection from their body that a nonhuman can experience when perceived as human.
(Particularly, this might be an orthohuman, someone who has a normative relationship with their human cultural and species identity, as opposed to an alterhuman, who experiences alternative/nonnormative humanity or a species identity separate from humanity. Human alterhumans can also experience this sort of species dysphoria - hi, I'm one of them.)
Imagine being your species your entire life, the way you know you're intended to be, living in a body you're comfortable in - and then having that body ripped away from you. Being forced to live in a form that doesn't match who you are, what you know you are, and desperately wanting to find a way to change back because you know you're not meant to be like this.
If this sounds familiar because it's what you experience as a nonhuman - that is how a lot of human beings feel about being transformed into something nonhuman. It's the feeling of being the wrong species! It's the desire to return to the form that you know as yourself!
The fact that orthohumans are born into the species they identify as does not mean that they could never comprehend your nonhuman experience. You can explain your nonhuman species dysphoria to an orthohuman. Given all the examples of unwanted transformation stories throughout human history, I think you're likely to find that they'll understand when you put it in that frame of reference.
"How would you feel about being turned into another species against your will, leaving behind everything that feels good and right and comfortable about your human body? That sounds horrible, right? That's how I feel, being nonhuman in a human body, and it's distressing in the same way you would hate being human and stuck in a nonhuman body."
I know that the gap between humanity and nonhumanity looks enormous. The horror of, say, werewolf mythology looks like a completely alien experience when you are a wolf, so you see being transformed into a wolf as nothing short of a wonderful experience, and you don't understand why anyone would see it as horrifying.
But if you understand that it's not about the species, but the experience of species dysphoria, of being trapped in a body that has never been yours and desperately trying to return to one that feels like you, well - that's a lot more understandable, isn't it?
Humanity and nonhumanity are not two opposite ends of a binary, destined to never understand each other. I know many alterhumans who are both human and nonhuman, and their humanity is an identity in much the same way as their nonhumanity. Humans are just another species on this planet, as bipedal tool-using social primates, and we have our species identities just like many nonhumans. You are not as alone in this world as you might think you are.
There is room for understanding and connection. Your experiences as nonhuman are not purely individual, not wholly unique, not utterly incomprehensible to human beings, and this is a good thing. The gap isn't actually as wide as it seems. You can reach out and cross it if you just remember - you have far more in common than you might think.

Words like "cervix" and "uterus" are absolutely inaccessible for ESL people though, and "cervix-haver" and "uterus-haver" even more so, both of which I've seen. These are uniquely English word structures and I would think that they are diseases if I didn't know those words already. Saying this as someone who went to a bilingual gymnasium, I only learned the word cervix thanks to being on r/badwomensanatomy or whatever that subreddit is called. I still don't see the problem behind "biologically female" tbh. If that makes you dysphoric you'll obviously be way too dysphoric to get pap smears or mammograms anyways😐 but the first gen immigrants would probably appreciate knowing that they're offered
I think if people don't know what a uterus (or womb) is there are deeper problems at play than trans people.
"___-haver" is not the only way to phrase that in English; "person with ___" is right there. Which is how its also phrased in other languages. From @anomalousmancunt:
#Not to mention that assuming non-english speaking women are too dumb to understand new terms is fucking disgusting#guess what anon. If you're USAmerican then your feminism is at least partially built on the work of latinoamerican feminists#feminists outside of the anglo bubble can understand new language just fine. we build new language always#like literally. it was hispanic feminists promoting an entire new pronoun IN SPANISH (one of THE gendered languages)#you think we're going to struggle latching onto the term PEOPLE?#as IF latam feminists didn't already use terms like 'gente que menstrua' and 'personas gestantes'#argentina had a gender identity law before the USA legalized gay marriage ffs#we don't need you to defend us against the evils of gender neutral language anon
Also, trans people die when they can't get proper gynecological care, so fuck you for acting like that's a cute thing to snark about.

i feel like some su fans don't realize Pearl isn't keeping a promise when she covers her mouth, she literally cannot speak of it because Rose made it a command, not a suggestion/request.
picture from end of an era
we know from an interview (cant find it) that Pearl's compulsion to obey the command is unique to Pearl - that no, Garnet wasn't forced by Rose to never ask questions. Pearl is uniquely programmed to obey a direct command like that because she was designed for Pink. this is a horrifying little bit of worldbuilding lol, thanks crewniverse - but it definitely makes Rose's act go from manipulative to outright egregious
what Rose does here to Pearl (by gagging her), is what the diamonds do to all gems. it's a highly institutionalized violation of agency that robs every gem, especially those of lower caste, of freedom, individuality, and autonomy. quantifiably, the gag order doesn't rob Pearl of much (there's only one thing she can't do after all), but for Rose to silence Pearl at all, to take away her voice, has enormous implications thematically and for Rose's character. Rose knows Pearl isn't able to resist the command, she gives it with the intention of taking advantage of her innate programming (designed by, and representative of, a system they both hate!) to forcibly prevent disobedience. this is WHILE she's trying to establish equality between them! if i were Pearl, i know id struggle with understanding where i stand. the signals are mixed as hell.
and we know Pearl wasn't sure she was equal, even after Rose's death. one example being - "who am i now in this world without her? petty and dull with the nerve to doubt her." i think occasionally members of the fandom fail to recognize or overlook that especially in her worst moments, Pearl STILL felt less than Rose, not only hierarchically but just fundamentally worth *less.* it's a struggle she eventually overcomes, yet during the run of the show, she's still fighting that battle. we also know from ep 2 of future (wherein steven tries to give all the gems non-homeworld-purpose related tasks), we know gems tend toward their original designed purpose.
but this isn't a Rose hate post and i wouldn't be caught dead writing one.
so what was happening when she gave the gag order? we know from the episode "bismuth," rose told bismuth she could be anything she wanted to be, that gems could choose for themselves. rose fought a whole war to free any gem who wanted to be free and to protect humanity. she told garnet (practically) to make her own identity and create her own purpose. how is this the same person who abused her power over pearl to make her keep a secret?
in end of an era, rebecca says: "[rose] makes sense once you know she is her own worst enemy. she dreams, achingly, that she could become compassionate, because she's sure she is incapable of compassion. her lack of respect for herself makes it impossible for her to respect everyone closest to her."
and that therein is the tragic heart of the problem. Rose hates herself. she wants to change, she wants to be good, but even when she IS good - she can't see it for what it is, past her own shame and self-disgust. it makes it "impossible to respect everyone closest to her" - including, and most damagingly (becuz of her purpose on homeworld and accompanying trauma), to Pearl. Blue and Yellow planted the seeds of self-hate, and developing her own value system on earth and learning to despise the diamonds' for the system they upheld reinforced that she, by just being a diamond at all, MUST be bad. she longed to be good but could conceive of no pathway to do so, except hiding her "villainy" permanently behind a "hero" mask and running away.
Rose couldn't even tolerate the slightest chance Pearl might say something, that's how deep the fear and shame ran, that she felt the need to do an absolutely horrible thing to a gem she very dearly loved in order to make sure her worst fear could never come true. people who need control need it to feel safe. it's kinda like that. the irony is that in trying desperately to hide that she's a diamond, she makes the fatal mistake of doing what a diamond does - controlling those beneath them in the hierarchy and reducing them down to their designed purpose. she tried hard not to be pearl's owner and not to treat pearl like her slave, but in this moment of finally escaping those roles, she embodies them briefly - with lasting consequences. it's an ego-dystonic betrayal of her own values impelled by self-hate and fear. it's heartbreaking for both of them.
Pearlrose's issues were varied but miscommunication was a big one. now they can't ever talk about it. what a difference it would have made if Rose hadn't done what she did. i wonder how often she wished she didn't (thought to herself, "pearl doesn't deserve that, how could i do that?"), then felt that fear creep back up, and maybe even wondered whether pearl's love was even genuine, or if it was totally hollow. in greg the babysitter she says, "When a gem is made, it's for a reason, they burst out of the ground already knowing what they're supposed to be, and then.. that's what they are. Forever." She says it almost sadly. like she's not sure she's anything but what she's always been, maybe even unsure pearl's anything but what she's always been. how can you trust someone to keep the deepest, most shameful secret of your life, if you're not even sure this person loves you sincerely?
we know Rose is tragically wrong here. she could grow and change. the gems are entirely capable of growth. every central character grows over the show- including Rose, we just watch it backwards! but she can't see herself for who she is and it's what doomed her.
isn't that the essential symptom of shame? Rose's self-loathing hurt not only herself, but Pearl (and Bismuth, Sapphire and Ruby, etc.) and she spent thousands of years healing from it. by hiding and hurting ourselves, we hurt others inevitably.

Hey! I was wondering. Does it still counts as plagiarism if one of your ideas gets tweaked, but the premise and even the character's motivation and personality remains the same in the story, although is with another name? (Not even the name if honest.)
How could I protect my work from this? More important, is there any way or it is possible to protect ideas? Or the protection only applies for the work itself?
Thanks in advance!
Tweaked Ideas and Plagiarism
Premises and ideas can't be protected. It's how the premise and ideas are executed that matters. One of my favorite examples of this is The Vampire Diaries vs Twilight. Premise-wise, they're almost identical...
🗸 17-year old "non-magical" girl protagonist 🗸 (she's actually secretly magical... sort of...) 🗸 Protagonist has parental issues 🗸 Mystical small town setting 🗸 Protagonist unaware of town's supernatural undercurrent 🗸 Protagonist meets hot "born-in-a-prior-century" vampire at school 🗸 His senses allow him to identify her among all other students 🗸 They fall in love 🗸 She gets sucked into supernatural shenanigans 🗸 She finds out she has friends who are secretly supernatural 🗸 Dangerous ancient council creates more shenanigans 🗸 Eventually she becomes a vampire
It looks bad on paper, but it's the myriad differences that make these stories completely unique. First, Bella is the polar opposite of Elena in terms of personality and situation. Bella's parents are alive but immature, Elena's parents died in a tragic accident. Bella moved to Forks to live with her father, Elena grew up in Mystic Falls. Edward was born in 1901, Stefan was born in 1846 (TV, 1490 books.) Edward has a big adoptive family. Stefan has his brother. Edward can't read Bella's mind, Stefan can read Elena's mind. Bella's supernatural friends are wolf shifters who are part of the local Indigenous tribe; Elena's supernatural friends include a werewolf, witch, and a vampire hunter. Bella can shield her mind from mind readers, Elena is a doppelgänger. Bella and friends fight an ancient council of vampires who micromanage the vampire world, Elena and friends fight a town council made up of anti-vampire humans.
The point is, the actual stories are very, very different despite the similarities in premise.
Now, I will say that if the premise is genuinely the same, and the character has the same appearance, personality, and even a similar name, that's a bit concerning. If you take a brutally honest look at the two works and find more similarities than differences, it's possible this person did over borrow. The problem is there may not be much you can do about it, but it depends on the situation. If you're both published but you published first, it's something you can take up with your agent or publisher, or if you don't have one, you can contact a copyright lawyer to explore your options. It's costly, however. If you can't afford this option, you can contact them and ask them to take it down, but they're not obligated to. Outside of that, there isn't much you can do.
There honestly isn't much you can do to protect yourself from plagiarism. It's part of the risk we take in putting our work out there. Again, if you're agented, have a publisher, or can hire a copyright attorney, you may find you have some legal recourse, especially if the plagiarism is glaring and they're making money off what they stole. Otherwise, you just have to grin and bear it. But the truth is, given the wealth of stories being published every day, plagiarism isn't that common of an occurrence. (Although, it's increasing now somewhat with the advent of AI...)
And I'll tell you, the harsh reality is you may feel like a work is so similar to yours it must be an intentional rip-off, but our brains have a way of making mountains out of molehills when it comes to spotting similarities. Nine out of ten times it's just not as similar as you think it is.

some of my better outfits from my Quirky Girl era ca. 2013, arguably the time in my life where i had the most fun with clothes and fashion for a variety of reasons:
- i was going to an artsy school with follow weirdos who were receptive to and encouraging of my Quirky Girl antics, which inspired me to put effort into dressing up in new and inventive ways :') before that i had been in a more stifling environment, which DID encourage my counter-fashion efforts, but more as a rebellion than expression of creativity - or maybe it was overcompensation, since i could not for the life of me figure out how to dress "normal" enough to escape the cruel comments of teenagers. later, when i started university, i didn't have much reason to dress up since i only had a couple lectures a week and very few classmates that i barely saw outside of it.
- both my Gender Realisation and Autism Diagnosis were imminent, but as they had not yet happened, i was at PEAK Quirky Girl. i've heard a lot of people dismiss the Kids These Days by saying they're picking up identities and diagnoses to be ~*special*~, and maybe some do - but for me, figuring these things about myself made me feel LESS special. dissappointed, even. i wanted to be like... gold star quirky girl. i wanted to be cool and unique through the sheer force of my specialness. accepting that i was autistic and non-binary meant climbing down from that pedestal. being quirky because you're autistic and non-binary is EASY MODE. i didn't want people to think i put no effort into this!!!!!! god!!!!!!!!!!! ultimately being true to myself and my needs won out hahaha
- prior to autism confirmed, i thought my sensory discomfort was due to personal failing, a lack of willpower. as fun as some of my outfits were, they could easily become a spoon drain: wrong textures, too many layers, seams in bad places, too tight, too stiff, too warm... nobody else seemed to have problems with wearing put together outfits, so i thought i just need to push myself, and eventually it'll feel fine and effortless. realising that no, i genuinely face a barrier of sensory issues, was pretty groundbreaking for me. ever since then i have done my best to prioritise my actual comfort.
- realising i was transgender opened up a whole new challenge: How Do I Get People To Perceive Me Correctly. there was a great freedom in not having to worry about this, though for some mysterious reason i felt deeply uncomfortable if anyone perceived me as hot/sexy/desireable!! wonder why!!! now that i think about it, i feel like Quirky Girl is a form of gender non-conformity in and of itself - the way i dressed was feminine, sure, but it was very much at odds with the expected women's fashion at the time. i didn't fit into any of the established alternative fashion culture, either. it would've been so helpful if i had, to be honest, as i could've used it as a guideline for gender performance, but instead i'm doomed to be forever unmoored.
anyway in retrospect i think it was very obvious how transgender and autistic i was but also it was 2013. so
#the haiz face#and Before my quirky girl era i would wear the same comfy baggy pants and shirt every day like a cartoon character#until they fell apart from wear#tbh for all that there's a lot to criticize about tiktok consumerism and microtrends#i do genuinely love how many people experiment with fashion and have an arena to really play with it#and invent fun aesthetics and vibes and just do their thing. it really speaks to me#maybe these photos look super normal now#but at the time it was so clear that i was not dressing normal or expected#i had people congratulating me for being so brave in dressing the way i do (kind of backhanded compliment but sure)#or random people at the library asking to take photos of me :')#and i still find it difficult to buy any garment that's plain and not colorful like it still feels like a Waste

Round 1 - Side B

Propaganda below ⬇️
Matt
Matt's faith in the show is really important and well explored; one of the first scenes of the show is Matt going to confession (or, well, talking to his priest since he's not really confessing at that point). Matt struggles a lot with what he's supposed to do; everyone's telling him to kill the villain and he kinda wants to, but he literally says: "I know my soul is damned if I take his life". He struggles with his faith and goes with his doubts to his priest, and it's beautiful—also when he finally gets a costume for his vigilanteing he chooses to dress as the devil, lol. (His priest tells him that nothing makes people run to Church faster than the feeling of having the devil on their heels.)
a lot of the show is about how he justifies his vigilante actions with his faith, and whether he's doing the right thing in trying to help people or just using it as an outlet for his anger. the literal first scene of the show has him in a confession booth talking to his priest (who is a really interesting character too). this is not the scene I was talking about but it's such an excellent scene with matt talking to his priest: https://youtu.be/XHZ3NbEIDdw
canonically catholic but dresses like a demon to be quirky
honestly i dont wanna type too much but i feel that matt is a great example of someone who battles with his faith because he rarely loses his faith but rather fights with why he was made the way he was and put through what he was. He believes himself to have the devil inside him but believes that God put him there
ok in the comics barring the most current run matt has Mostly been a non-practicing Catholic that very rarely actually does any catholic Activities but ends up falling back into the Mindset and very occasionally dramatically taking confession (ex. in that one issue where he takes confession, basically tells the father that he is uniquely terrible and is thinking about violently murdering someone and when the father says "you can be forgiven" hes like "AUGFH-- NO!!!!!!!!!!" and runs out) when he's gone through some shit. and i love that its so relatable
hello its me cct organizer. i have to come clean, i made this tournament because i need matt to win something. i dont think hell win the sadboy and he lost the ginger tournament and >:( hes my favoritest guy ever. Also @ who said he has religious trauma is wrong and i will fight u about it (nicely) on my main @usaigi
This guy so catholic he spends an ungodly amount of time just chilling in the church. And goes there whenever there is a moral conundrum about killing people being Bad even though it would solve a lot of problems and stop said people from killing other people. This happens every other episode. Matt is the Catholic Guilt Guy. There's actually a lot of catholic stuff in the show as a whole. Just a compilation would be like three whole episodes long.
Hes great hes catholic enough to not outrught murder people but not catholic enough to not fuck before marriage hes a bisexual disaster at all times hes besties with a priest might i add hes great hes my special little guy
his catholicism is a huge piece of his characterisation he was raised by nuns in a catholic orphanage, the first scene we ever see him (as an adult and not a flashback) is him going to confession, he is good friend with his priest and has regular debates with him, etc also in s3 he has a huge crisis of faith after he lost A Lot where he stops believing for a while and it's linked to his identity crisis where he actually wants to kill another person (a hard line he previously chose never to cross) and wants to be only daredevil and not matt murdock, when he is both and needs both to exist also when he was a kid his grandmother used to say "watch out for the murdock boys, they've got the devil in them" and it created a surprising lot of his issues
So he's both catholic in the comics and the show but he's More Catholic in the show. Like, raised in a catholic orphanage by nuns (ONE OF WHICH IS HIS *MOTHER*), second scene in the show has him in a confession box kind. Matt Murdock goes out and gets the shit beaten out of him nightly and also beats the shit out of other people and purposefully leaned into devil iconography as his theme. When his nurse friend says, he takes a lot of punishment without one complaint he says "That part's the Catholicism." It is a Core Aspect of his character (at least in the show). He makes me insane. Also the same chemicals that blinded him created the teenage mutant ninja turtles and everyone should know that.
They went to confession to a priest who they had saved as their costumed counterpart and the guy recognized them by the voice, proving that it's possible and everyone else is just dumb
he takes "i wanna fight god" to new and incredibly violent levels, while also being a sweetheart and a goofball
Actually strictly WILL NOT kill criminals. Goes wayyy out of his way to avoid it. Fights with the Punisher about it. Goes to confession booth after nightly vigilante excursions. Feels so much guilt. "How have you been holding up?" "Like a good Caltholic boy" "that bad huh" - actual conversation with his priest
So Daredevil struggles with his mission as a crime fighter because killing criminals goes against his faith. He makes it a point to not kill criminals, believing that even bad people deserve a second chance. This philosophy puts him at odds against The Punisher, who is a relentless killer. As a Catholic myself, while I love the concept of a morally conflicted superhero, I think the worldbuilding around Daredevil is lacking. If he struggles with violence and killing, why doesn't he pray to warrior saints like Saint Michael, Saint Ignatius of Loyola (a former knight), or Saint Joan of Arc? Why isn't there a community of other Catholics he can turn to for guidance, considering New York City has a sizeable population of Catholics? And why are the churches he goes to always empty? Doesn't he know that the Catholic Church supports the just war theory? I think that would have made his burden more bearable.
He goes to church and confesses to punching people and says "imma do it again can i apologize in advance" and the father dude says "no you're meant to stop now" and Matt says "no" and they do this everyday. I'm not remembering it properly but this is a canon interaction i swear
HELLO HI YES I LOVE HIM AND WILL INFOR DUMP ok so. he is a vigalantty and he got named daredevil and he is an orphan and after the age of 12 was raised in an orphanage at a Catholic church and his therapist is his priest via confession abd. also his mother is a nun he has a whole mental breakdown over god and called Job a pussy because he liked god until he got better and liked god again he said "I'm dearedrvil and not even god can stop that now" and he's so cool
matt is a freakish little babygirl who was raised by nuns and definitely has religious trauma. i hate him so much (affectionately)
he’s literally fucking insane about it i don’t know what to say here. he thinks he’s chosen by god to go on some sort of holy quest to save hell’s kitchen. joan of arc ass.
i already know hes in by default j just wanted to give him a personal shout out i love this angsty catholic dweeb
how practicing he is depends on the run, but in my favorite he is quite literally confessing to a member of the last extant order millitant who happens to be a priest at a church in hells kitchen.
i love him for having the funniest version of a trope i usually hate (person gets into confession booth and asks forgiveness not for what they've done, but for what they're about to do). usually this trope just looks silly to me bc like. the priest would just say "i can't do that" and you would have to either awkwardly explain yourself or just Leave. it's funny when matt does it because fr. lantom is probably like "what are you gonna do???" and matt's like "lol. lmao. 😊 hehehe." anyway we love this angry catholic man who dresses up like the devil to beat people up in hell's kitchen
Harrowhark
I'm pretty sure you've already got plenty of submissions for her so I'll just say she was raised in what is basically a cult (technically a nunnery but let's be real) dedicated to keeping the body of the thing that will kill God behind the rock. One of their prayers is actually "I pray the rock is never rolled away". Harrow is extremely devout as penance for her earlier heretical actions in the tomb as a child (spoiler!) so the Catholic guilt really comes through
imagine being a catholic nun and you meet god, but it turns out he’s a twitch streamer from new zealand who became god because everything got a little bit out of hand. and just before you met him you gave yourself a diy grief-fuelled lobotomy with the help of your best frenemy. imagine how insane you’d be. now multiply that insanity by nine. that’s the fictional love of my life right there.
she meets god. she’s not inspired
she’s number one practitioner of space Catholicism. The locked tomb is chock full of Christian (catholic) imagery themes metaphors etc. just look at her she’s got a bone rosary
They're Catholicism with extra bones. Everyone is a nun. They have what is basically a rosary made from knuckle bones. They technically worship the same God as everyone else, but they're waaaay more focused on The Body in the Tomb (Mary) and we get a moment where we find out that while everyone else prays the equivilent of The Lords Prayer, they're doing the equivilent of Hail Mary. And they paint their faces with skulls.
She thinks leaving dry bread in a drawer is taking care of someone. She's in love with a 10,000 year old corpse (the same one they worship). She spent ALL NIGHT digging with her bare hands to make sure a field had bones every 5 feet so she could fight her girlfriend - I mean, greatest enemy. Spoiler territory: She's been puppeting her parents corpses since she was 8 years old. Instead of grieving her dead girlfriend, she gives herself a lobotomy. She makes soup with bone in it so she can use the bone IN THEIR STOMACH to try and kill them.
The author is/was Catholic and the entire series had heavy Catholic overtones. https://www.tor.com/2020/08/19/gideon-the-ninth-young-pope-and-the-new-pope-are-building-a-queer-catholic-speculative-fiction-canon/ A good breakdown of how it's Catholic

The Noble Trials Earis.
Here’s my Earis I’ve named her
Kyranix Nehellenia Calliomene Ilves
Their first name was given by a friend who thought my name (Kyra) would fit with the period but I already self-inserted myself with Luca (as you may be able to tell) so,
I wanted to put a spin on it and named them Kyranix. It just seemed fitting, this outfit currently at this moment is her combat attire. I originally went in between combat attire and formal wear but looking at other fanart of the crumpets Earis and Zaros. Kyranix’s outfit just didn’t fit in with the period
When making Kyranix’s look I based her design off of Tanya from Mortal Kombat and Kida from Atlantis and some tidbits of Egyptian and Greek origins because for me that’s what the ethics he gets from their father and Queen Roena
Now when it comes to Sakuverse Oc’s I like to have them have some relationship to me in some type of way whether that be in appearance personality or experiences some of them might be unique some might be similar but for now Kyranix has a unique one is Vitiligo, now I have vitiligo, at a younger age I was scared and ashamed of it until I grew up and grown to appreciate it and that’s what I wanted for him but I had Kyranix a lot more vitiligo than I had,
Now for the more interesting part.
Who is Kyranix Nehellenia Calliomene Ilves
(Kai•Ran•Icks) (neh-le-nia) (Cal-yo-men-E)
Age:???
Height: 5’9/6’0
Birthday: March 21st (Aries)
Favorite flower: Marigold
Eye color: Malachite
Guilty pleasure: collecting and secretly reading forbidden or controversial texts, such as poetry, philosophy, or tales of rebellion.
Natural Resting Bitch Face
Identical appearance to their grandmother
Soprano
Favorite animal: Lynx or a Phoenix
Has selective Luck
Acrobatic
Non-Binary
Now ima skip the obvious parts. Kyranix is an effortlessly beautiful complex, layered individual—a mix of brilliance, fire, and deep-seated vulnerability.
While she carries themselves with the regal composure expected of Serulla's heir, they often defy expectations with a sharp wit and a penchant for mischief. Kyranix is deeply intelligent, but they mask it behind a free-spirited, sometimes joyful exterior, knowing when to switch gears and focus when the stakes are high.
They’re fiercely independent yet plagued by a longing for validation, especially from authority figures—a result of both their upbringing and their struggles with bipolar disorder.
Their fiery temper and sarcastic humor are often shields against the loneliness and pressure they feel as the kingdom’s heir. Despite their emotional walls, Kyranix possesses an unshakable loyalty to their people and a strong moral compass, even when personal pain threatens to derail their judgment.
I’d note that Kyranix is very smart she just chooses to not be on the daily but knows when the time comes to be serious they just like to mess with people as they prefer an unpredictable persona
Talents and Skills:
Harp Playing: A skill she’s mastered as a way to channel his emotions when words fail. Their music is hauntingly beautiful, often reflective of their inner turmoil.
Ballet: Kyranix uses her flexibility and training in ballet not only as an art form but as a way to express control and discipline—something he struggles with emotionally.
Bo/Staff Combat: A weapon of choice that reflects her personality: elegant but fierce, and capable of immense power when wielded correctly.
For lore at this moment until Saku changes something up
Kyranix’s long hair and its style was a tribute to their father who wasn’t in their life long I kinda scrapped that idea because it didn’t make sense, especially with this alt costume
Scrapped Alternative Costume

But I did keep the father figure trauma because why not
Kyranix suffers from emotional turmoil and bipolar disorder and searches for validation from others; they become aggressive, angry, and resentful of paternal figures. She may also struggle with social adjustment and develop behavioral problems due to Kyranix’s status he was trained to be the best
Relationship with Zaros:
Her relationship with Zaros is a battlefield of emotions—anger, betrayal, unresolved feelings, and undeniable chemistry. Zaros’s teasing clashes with Kyranix’s fiery temper, creating a dynamic where every argument is layered with tension and unspoken truths. Zaros might see through their façade in a way that no one else can, both infuriating and intriguing Kyranix.
Kyranix herself won’t admit it but she does enjoy Zaros company as in all truth Zaros was his only true friend as many other people were just Kyranix’s friends because of their status when they were kids Zaros gave Kyranix a gift which was the marigold earrings they wear and swore and refuse to ever take off
As much as Kyranix is set on pursuing the future behind those walls she is afraid of the future and what her fate holds
Name Origin:
The name Kyranix Nehellenia Calliomene Ilves combines elements of strength, beauty, and duality. "Kyranix" symbolizes a balance of light and darkness which means "little dark one" or "beam of light", reflecting their complex personality.
"Nehellenia" connects to a protective and mystical nature, inspired by a goddess of prosperity and the sea.
"Calliomene" highlights their elegance and creativity, tying to their artistic talents and emotional depth, while "Ilves" represents independence and a fierce, cunning spirit.
Together, the name embodies a powerful, multifaceted individual who is both regal and deeply introspective, shaped by their struggles and aspirations. The name also could be interpreted as: "The radiant protector with a fierce, beautiful soul, guided by duality and independence.”
Dancer Attire:
Random Facts About Kyranix:
Silent Strategist:
Kyranix might often be found quietly observing situations, calculating the best course of action without letting anyone know they're already ten steps ahead. They enjoy playing the long game and outsmarting others, even if they appear carefree.
A Lover of the Night:
Despite their royal responsibilities, Kyranix has a deep appreciation for the nighttime, often going on late-night walks or sitting by a window to watch the stars while reflecting on their inner thoughts. The stillness of night gives them clarity and peace.
Hides Their Vulnerability Behind Humor:
Kyranix uses sharp, sarcastic humor to deflect from moments of emotional vulnerability. It’s their way of keeping people at arm’s length, but those closest to them can see through the jokes and understand the hurt behind them.
A Collection of Gifts:
Kyranix secretly collects small tokens or mementos that hold sentimental value—things they don’t often show anyone. These could range from old books to items from people they care about, including the marigold earrings given by Zaros.
Enjoys Dancing in Private:
Given their ballet training, Kyranix occasionally lets loose and dances when no one is around, finding freedom in the fluidity of movement. It’s one of the rare times they truly feel at peace with themselves.
Imperfect Perfectionist:
While they strive for perfection in everything, from their combat skills to their leadership, Kyranix is incredibly self-critical. They often push themselves too hard, secretly fearing failure and feeling the weight of their expectations.
Loves Music with a Haunting Edge:
They play the harp beautifully, but Kyranix often leans toward darker, more melancholic pieces—music that mirrors their inner conflicts and emotional complexity.
Their Idea of Relaxation:
On rare occasions when Kyranix allows themselves a break, they might retreat to a quiet garden or secluded space, curl up with a book, and sip on a drink that relaxes them, like herbal tea or something calming like chamomile with honey.
Secret Soft Spot for Animals:
While they may not openly express it, Kyranix has a soft spot for animals, particularly those that are independent but still capable of showing affection—like cats or certain wild creatures. They may be seen feeding stray animals in secret, a small act of kindness hidden from others.
Doesn't Believe in Love (Yet):
Kyranix, due to past betrayals and emotional turmoil, has a hard time believing in true, unconditional love. They might scoff at the idea of romance but secretly long for someone who can understand their complexities without needing to fix them.
Things Kyranix Might Do:
Engage in Heated Debates:
Kyranix loves a good intellectual challenge, often debating topics like philosophy, politics, or ethics, especially when they know they’ll win or outwit the other person with their sharp reasoning.
Disguise Their Emotions:
When they're upset or hurt, Kyranix is excellent at masking it. They might throw themselves into physical training or hide behind a sarcastic comment to divert attention from their inner turmoil.
Nighttime Routines:
They might have a personal ritual, like lighting candles in a specific order or engaging in a brief meditation session to center themselves before going to sleep. It’s a time when they feel most at ease with themselves.
Take Long, Reflective Walks:
Kyranix enjoys long walks in solitude, particularly when they need to clear their head or work through their emotions. These walks might take them through royal gardens, forests, or along the edges of the kingdom.
Improvise Battle Techniques:
While trained in formal combat, Kyranix enjoys experimenting with new techniques or finding creative ways to combine different styles in the heat of battle, often surprising others with their unpredictable moves.
Challenge Authority (Subtly):
They may subtly challenge their mentors or those in authority positions, often testing their limits with sarcastic comments or questioning decisions, while still respecting the hierarchy to avoid outright rebellion.
Sneak Away from Formal Gatherings:
At royal events or formal gatherings, Kyranix might slip away unnoticed, escaping to a quiet spot where they can be alone and recharge before returning to their duties.
Keep a Journal:
Kyranix might keep a private journal or collection of poems, writing down their innermost thoughts and feelings, especially when they’re too afraid to voice them aloud. The journal might also contain strategic plans or musings about their future.
Romance Novels:
secretly enjoys reading very provocative romance novels, obsessing over the heavy scenes and dramatic characters. Despite their serious, royal exterior, they get deeply invested in the stories, even making notes in the margins and sometimes reading aloud to themselves, fully immersed in the drama. This secret hobby is a humorous contrast to their composed persona, and they'd never let anyone, especially Zaros, catch them in the act.

Zutomayo: Mystery of Cool
Foreign Music has always been a strange thing both for the world and for myself personally. While everyone can appreciate a good Taylor Swift or some English indie. The world has a strange obsession with exotic musicians of a different language.
In retrospect, the K-pop boom: Super Junior, Girls Generation and Blackpink showed that music, doesn't matter in terms of the language. (not really)
It values the cool factor and the massive influence it causes to the internet. Just look at how [K-Pop artist; PSY] managed to unite the world. For me. My "Blackpink" is this faceless group?

- 「私もそうだよ」 -
Translation: [Everything is fine with me]
Debuted in 2018, Zutomayo (full name: Zutto Mayonaka De Iinoni) is a Japanese rock group. Translates as: I wish it was midnight all the time.
On June 4, 2018. Zutomayo released their first song on YouTube, [Byōshin o Kamu/ 秒針を噛む] becoming an immediate hit. Having 200,000 views within the first week. Assisted with an animated music video with a cast of peculiar characters.
Over the last seven years, the group has progressed from using just traditional instruments to adding non-traditional instruments.
Based on their live concerts. The group is seen using something called; [Electronicos Fantasticos/ Nicos] which is a collection of used electronic equipment turned into a pseudo instrument.
ZTMY's group members is uncertain since a lot of their talents alternate song by song. Their only consistent member is vocalist and songwriter; ACA-Ne/ ACAね an unidentified singer whose range is described as; energetic, expressive, and delicate.

- 今日どうしよ?-
Translation: [What should I do today?]
If we were to describe Zutomayo's type of music. It would be difficult to narrow down as to what ZTMY's genre fall under. The general belief is that they are rock based but is riddled with techno on the side.
Whatever the case, the group's music has its own unique identity. Upon listening to their songs (for multiple times) the group prioritizes on the bass guitar, the chaotic slams of the keyboard and the Nicos. Lyric wise, its rather difficult to paint a discernable picture since its of a different language. According to some Japanese listeners, ZTMY's songs to have a lot of wordplay and double meaning in its phrasing.
In the song, [お勉強しといてよ/ STUDY ME] the song spews a jumble of nonsense. However, the music video tells a unique story. STUDY ME follows a girl who is stuck in a perpetual cycle where she is somewhat complacent with her being a background character. Until she realizes that she can make a difference in defiance of her program.
Another song, [勘ぐれい/ Hunch Gray] its lyrics share the sentiment of chasing one's dreams but is uncertain about the venture. Trapped in a distorting world where the answers are unclear.
Still, the author wants to continue. Confronting problems one at a time. The video however, is about two childhood friends who got separated by dark entities of authority and is in the midst of a rescue mission.
- 3,2,1...Mirror Tune! -
Its worth mentioning the iconography found in ZTMY's music videos. For the most part, the main characters are mostly human. Nira-chan is the girl seen in both [STUDY ME] and in another song; [暗く黒く/Darken] although she is more cyborg than human in the latter.

The videos are animated by several independent artists such as; [tvchany] for their stylish and sharp style on [ミラーチューン/Mirror Tune] and [残機/Time Left] Another artist, [sakiyama] uses a rather messy and incredibly expressive style seen in [勘冴えて悔しいわ/ Kansaete Kuyashiiwa] which played this meta joke of its main character attempting to save the characters from the other videos.
I could honestly go on about the various art styles found in Zutomayo's MVs. There is also an official [Card Game] for them all. On the topic of consistency, The one creature seen in all of its videos is the adorable Hedgehog; Uniguri-kun.

With that said, Zutomayo is a mysterious group of talents shrouded in shadow. Both the musicians to ACA-Ne herself. It adds excitement to the identity of the alluring talent but it also enhances the variety of genres found in their music. Allowing its audience to explore and experience a type of music they rarely listen to.
ZTMY takes away the popularity because, unlike other bands. They don't exactly have a "face" to refer to. Rather, they let their songs and the MVs speak to the fans both in Japan and overseas.
Zutomayo is not just music but also an exploration of style. As seen with their clothing line. It's an inbred of Easter eggs with its upbeat songs filled with messages of melancholy. That is what makes ZTMY mysteriously cool~

If i may hope into your inbox rq to rant,i think there's a special kind of masculinazation queer black women go through specifically. There's this weird thing white cis wlw have where they automatically assume 'black women with a queer gender/orientation=masculine presentation' even if the bw in question is blatantly femme(remember the tomboy Megan Thee Stallion allegations💀)and it's highkey insane how they can't wrap their heads around the fact that black women can be girlypops and softgirls as much as any other queer women and i can only imagine how much worse it is for femme black trans women
Like for me i'm bigender and genderfluid along with being bi so i understand why people would assume i want to be masc on first meeting but a quick look at my blog or talking with me will make it very obvious i'm a dude but not the slightest bit masculine and that's absolutely influenced by my black womanhood but white woman fragility makes the idea of unlearning misogynoir 'scary'🙄Ntm my white trans girl friends have been way more normal about me and guys like me than cis girls so that adds to my opinion that transfem and black woman friendships are almost inherent and the overlap between transmisogyny and misogynoir. They think it's 'allyship' but the thing is almost no black woman ever asks to be masculineized
All of this is so true!!!
And then there's the fact that whenever you see Black wlw rep in media, they are almost always butch/stud or on the androgynous/masculine side, and while that does deserve rep, you hardly see femme Black wlw nearly as much, especially when they're paired with a non-Black or lighter-skinned Black girl who will almost always be the femme to their butch, it feels like Black wlw almost never get to be the feminine one.
A lot of white wlw I've seen tend to assume that Black wlw must be masculine, often so that they can be the more feminine one and it's unfair. Plus I feel like Black femme lesbians in particular face a DOUBLE form of femme invisibility that other femmes do not, because while femmes in general are read as straight or seen as having straight-passing privilege(which we do not), Black femmes often face both where we are assumed to be straight feminine girls or we are seen as not being "lesbian" enough because we're femme when Black lesbians must be studs. And it's unfair. And also I wish there was a term specifically for Black femme lesbians the way Black masc lesbians have stud, that was common and widespread, but I also just know that if a term like that did exist, then it would just be co-opted by non-Black femmes anyway, just like non-Black mascs try to do with stud.
I feel too that my femmeness is def influenced by my Black womanhood as well so I see where you're coming from. And I also agree that Black girls and trans girls(esp Black trans girls) should be friends because our oppression, although not identical, has a lot in common on the grounds that we are both denied womanhood by the white gender binarist society.
I wish this was a thing people talked about more, a lot of people act like femmes don't have any unique problems or that we are privileged for being straight-"passing" or having "so much representation" in media, when that is not the case and especially ignores the reality of being a femme of color, especially a Black femme who has to fight to be allowed to embrace her femininity and not be seen as man-lite due to white supremacy. I feel like only other femmes and butch lesbians care about our struggles but that the wider non-lesbian/non-wlw society doesn't? Especially with a lot of lgbt men/male-aligned people saying that the lgbt community has a "fear of/aversion to" masculinity which is complete bullshit(unless you're referring to butch/masc/stud women of course). But we need to start having this conversation! So thank you for bringing it to my attention!

warning for mentions of rape i guess, sorry i got a bit heated here but im genuinely baffled at how people could side with these two after this.
when salem defended wis (who was quite literally berating someone for asking clarification on if she was being exclusionary of other trans peoples' experiences in favor of transfems) by saying he agrees with her as a trans man really fuckin pisses me off as a transmasc person. you dont get to speak on behalf of all trans men and transmasc people. stop fucking acting like youre our leader or something.
mind you, wis replied to this person with, quote, "yes trans people as a whole experience this problem, yes trans women have it the worst out of everyone". everyone.
trans people have it really difficult in life.
trans women have it really difficult in life.
trans men have it really difficult in life.
non-binary people have it really difficult in life.
genderqueer people have it really difficult in life.
trans people have it really difficult in life.
i dont give a fuck if you think X Y and Z suddenly makes being a trans woman much more difficult than literally every other queer identity under the sun, thats not how it fucking works man. queer experiences are not a god damn monolith, everyone goes through life differently, and yes you can argue certain identities get discriminated against in unique ways- THAT IS NOT GROUNDS TO SAY YOURE THE MOST OPPRESSED.
in this day and age you will be systematically oppressed for being trans no matter what label you use, because you're trans. nobody should give a shit about who's got it worse because WE ALL HAVE IT SHITTY. THAT SHOULD BE THE END OF IT.
salem even argues that trans men widely experiencing erasure in media is a good thing and thus is part of why trans women somehow have it harder by default. what the actual fuck????
"you never hear about transphobia in shows, news, games etc specifically targeting transmasc/afab people individually because society views us as "tricked women" no matter what so ofc they're not going to paint us as super evil and aggressive"
1: ah yes, being infantilized and completely ignored is MUCH better than being treated as violent, guys. being brushed off by your doctor/psychiatrist/parents/etc because you're just a confused little girl and should keep those disgusting thoughts to yourself is sooo much better and doesn't make you feel utterly alone and wanting to end your fucking life.
2: this also isnt fucking true anyways, i see trans men get targeted ALL THE TIME with shit like "they're ruining their natural beauty and just need a man to fix them" yknow, leading to rape, or being "violent traitors" which is especially common in TERF circles, spouting bs about how testosterone turns you violent/ugly/brutish... oh hey, doesn't that sound familiar?
and lets not forget wis, at one point, replying to that person with "type in the chat 1 if you feel unsafe around me, 2 if you feel unsafe around (person she was replying to)" essentially getting her followers to rally against someone THAT LITERALLY JUST ASKED FOR CLARIFICATION ON WHAT SHE MEANT.
and for the record, wis: 1.
i just do not understand, why terminally online queer people like wis and salem, are so intent on making a "hierarchy" of queerness. like yes. trans women, do have it bad. transmisogyny is a unique and terrible thing to experience. but, the way the both of them talk about trans men. and honestly. the way a large portion of the internet, talks about trans men/trans mascs. it gets truly bad. even, from other queer people.
in an irl, lgbt community. guess what. nobody cares, about your ASAB. no one walks up, and asks, "are you TME or TMA?!?!". no one pries into your identity. if you look 100% feminine. but ask them to refer to you as a he. they will respect this. salem of course, does not know this, as he has never attempted to seek an lgbt community. and yes. i am aware, he lives in the south, in a religious environment. so did i. in the deep south, where at times, it was dangerous.
i have been incredibly fortunate, in that i have been part of many different real life lgbt communities. some created by myself even, and thus, having experience with irl, chill queer people. they literally, are just people. and yes. some of them, DO end up being bad people, they are not immune to being shitty, simply for being lgbt. our group, rightfully kept them away, because they proved themselves to be a danger, and could not respect basic consent.
the point of a community, especially one for marginalized people. is to BE. TOGETHER. to SUPPORT, and UPLIFT one another! not to create, artificial lines, that no one cares about, irl. wis and salem so desperately, want to be the queen and king of a shitty hierarchy, they are constructing around them, where they always have the be-all-end-all, to everything, and every issue, and are never wrong. i think, as someone who is not terminally online, and has more experience with irl gays, than online gays, it is just scummy.

This post has been a long time coming and will be pretty long, so let's get into it.
Nuance in Syscourse
And cw we will be talking about a lot of common syscourse arguments as examples, so if that is not something you are comfortable reading, this is not the post for you. This includes mentions of fakeclaiming.
We see a lot of "all in this group believe/do this." If you use the word all in any arguments like this, what follows is likely untrue as(and this is an exception lol) all people are unique. Also, it is important to be aware of the flaws that exist on your side of syscourse instead of just focusing on the flaws of the other side. And we won't be talking about neutral's beliefs because they are even more complex and varied, but this post can be used as justification for why neutrals exist.
So firstly, "all anti-endos believe endos don't/can't exist" very much false. I know of anti-endos who believe endogenics exist, and I know of pro-endos who don't believe endos exist. That has never been where the line is, and it never will be. There are enough other factors present that people can make their decisions on other than that alone.
Common arguments of this might be from a pro-endo I don't think endos exist, but they deserve to be respected and allowed to discover more about themselves at their own pace. And for anti-endos I believe endos exist I just simply don't think they belong in CDD spaces, and I don't feel their experience is close enough to mine that I feel comfortable interacting. They don't have to fit your definition of a pro or anti endo to identify as such. They choose the syscourse label they think fits them best.
Of course, there are other more harmful beliefs, such as the anti-endo belief that endos are plural they just don't remember their trauma. This does happen in some cases, so it isn't completely out of left field, but it is another case where anti-endos aren't falling into the immediate their faking mentality. It is also fair to say that some traumagenics who believe themself to be endogenic may have a harder time recognizing their trauma/trauma responses when they start becoming more prominent due to the label. This by no means is an excuse not to take the label if it is what you feel best represents you but simply a possible consequence of it. You're identity us what feels right to you, and it can change as you discover more about yourself.
Both sides of syscourse can also justify that some on the opposing side are abelist. Both sides do abelist nonsense all the time. Anti-endos won't stop throwing other disorders under the bus, and both sides won't stop spreading misinformation about CDDs. Endogenics don't need to be validated by the DSM or ICD to exist. The writers of diagnostic manuals for disorders do not care about including non-disordered experiences. Endos weren't even slightly on their radar when they were writing it. Stop making the diagnostic manuals about something they simply aren't about, please.
Another thing that complicates things is that everyone has a different definition of what trauma is, and everyone's threshold for trauma is different. It's easy for those other than the person in question to look at their experiences and think well that would have traumatized me even if they don't find it traumatizing they must have been traumatized by it. It's also easy for those who have experienced trauma to dismiss their experiences as "not that bad" when they really were. There is no solid line to go off of for what really does qualify, which can lead to confusion. Two systems could have the exact same experiences, and one would be/identify as traumagenic and the other endogenic. It's all a matter of perspective.
There is also the problem that many of those with CDDs first introduction to endos is that they are claiming to have CDDs. That can be very scary for someone discovering their disorder/the community and struggling to find the resources they need for their disorder. It is not surprising that those with CDDs who think that's what endos are would want to keep their distance and may take on a label based on what their friends are labeling themselves. That doesn't make them a bad person, just misinformed.
There are also pro and anti harassment people on all sides of syscourse. There are pro-endos who go out of their way to harass and retraumatize anti-endos and there are anti-endos who go out of their way to try to stop (pro)endos from being harassed. You can't tell how aggressive someone will be based on their syscourse stance. This also happens between people on the same side of syscourse. Pro-harassment anti and pro endos harass anti-harassment people on their same side all the time.
If you aren't willing to talk to people you disagree with you, you should not speak on what they believe with any sort of authority. This doesn't need to be some all-out us vs. them brawl. People are allowed to learn and grow and change over time, but treating them terribly will never help them do so and can actively stop them from doing so. If someone harasses you, you can block them. But that is a problem with that person, not every person who labels themselves the same way. No one in syscourse is a monolith and should not be treated as such. Block the ones you don't like or who don't like you, but you don't need to use their actions against their entire community.

Twisted Wonderland AU
The Fractured Thread
A human girl with no memory of her past is mysteriously summoned to Twisted Wonderland. She retains no personal memories but possesses encyclopedic knowledge of various topics, especially Disney stories, despite being unfamiliar with Twisted Wonderland itself. Lacking magical abilities and unsure of her true identity, she navigates the challenges of school life, grappling with the unsettling discovery that she is not entirely human.
Main Character:
Yuu Quinn
Called "Yuu" by Dire Crowley (a name she reluctantly accepts) and adopts "Quinn" because it sounds cool.
Androgynous in her school uniform, allowing her to pass as male.
Assumed to be human, until certain abilities reveal themselves.
Witty, sassy, and unafraid to call out others, she often gets into arguments with both students and staff.
Prides herself on her vast knowledge, often correcting others and dropping Disney references.
Initially lacks empathy, struggling to connect with others due to her memory loss and distrust.
A compulsive liar who hides her vulnerabilities behind bravado.
Claims to be into women to maintain her disguise as a boy. She gets way too into this and is clearly having fun with it.
Frequently violates school rules, swears openly, and is willing to commit non-violent crimes if it’s “interesting” or rewarding.
Beneath her tough exterior, she feels like a stranger in her own body, fearing both her true nature and her unknown past.
She's jealous about others' relationships, especially familial ones.
Ramshackle Dorm:
Her residence was provided by Crowley. Thinks it's a trash heap, but willing to put up with it. When she realizes she'll be staying longer, she makes an effort to clean and repair it as it's filled with mold and dust.
Shared with Grim.
Hated the "Three ghosts of Christmas past" and was hell-bent on exorcising them. However, she also thinks of a way of manipulating them and using them to her advantage.
Night Raven College:
Enrolled as a freshman despite being unable to perform magic.
Excels in academic tasks, especially those requiring logic and memory. Likes to correct other students when they get something wrong for her amusement.
The newest problem student who is frequently given extra assignments as punishment.
So many Harry Potter references.
Bargain with Crowley:
Crowley offers to help her recover her memories and return home in exchange for extracting knowledge from her mind.
Yuu reluctantly agrees, working part-time and letting Crowley study her as payment for essentials like food.
The pair of them have a mutual dislike for one another, despite the partnership.
Spider Abilities:
During the first Overblot incident, spider-like legs erupt from her body under stress, enabling her to escape danger.
Horrified but fascinated, Yuu learns to control them and reluctantly consents to tests on her biology, fearing her potential to harm others (and herself).
After this, she worries about potentially eating food toxic to spiders.
To her annoyance, her crush calls her "Weaver" when he finds out about her spider abilities. She of course doubles down on this and gives him a worse nickname.
Reputation:
Initially ostracized for her abrasive and dishonest behavior, Yuu slowly earns trust and forms meaningful friendships.
The Octavinelle trio become her first real allies despite her initial suspicion of their motives.
Personal Growth:
Yuu’s journey begins with mistrust and isolation, but as she bonds with others, she learns to lower her guard and accept help.
She transitions from seeing herself as an outsider to embracing her unique identity, including her spider abilities.
Despite fearing her non-human nature, Yuu works toward understanding it and reconciling it with who she wants to be.
She hopes her restored memories will reveal a kinder, more empathetic self, inspiring her to grow in the present.
Key Relationships:
Her first companion is Grim. They form a dynamic of mutual reliance and banter.
Dire Crowley is a manipulative figure who alternates between aiding and exploiting Yuu.
The Octavinelle Trio become unlikely but steadfast friends who recognize her value and support her growth despite her mistrust.
Yuu eventually develops mutual feelings for a classmate, further grounding her emotionally and fostering vulnerability. However, with her current memory situation, she doesn't feel like she can be with him.
Themes:
Yuu’s search for her past mirrors her struggle to find her place in Twisted Wonderland.
Her journey involves confronting her fears of harming others and mastering her newfound abilities.
Over time, Yuu softens her rough edges, building trust and meaningful connections.
And that's the fanfic plot I'll probably never fully write. Hope it was at least interesting if you read through all of it 😝
Coming up with the initial concept was fun. I'm rather new to the TWST fandom, I decided to check out Yana Toboso's Disney game and was impressed.
If you dare to comment you enjoyed this, it just might send me over the edge to write an actual chapter.

Quarter Finals - Catholic Character Tournament

I'm sure Harrow is lovely and I respect the space lesbians but listen to me. Listen.
Matt Murdock is the Catholic character of all time, and if you make him lose, I am blowing up this website and everyone in it.
He is Catholic. His mother is a nun. He grew up in a catholic orphanage. Half the episodes in the show include him going to confession. When he needs therapy, he talks to his priest. He dresses up as a devil partly because of the Catholicism.

One time he got godly powers on loan from Heimdall (see below), and he did a lot of good with it, and then the second it was over he just... well. Also see below!

This man's every coping mechanism is Catholicism.
Please vote for Matt in the @catholic-character-tournament because he's the best and most realistic representation of what it means to be Catholic. Someone who's been punched and bet and crushed by life but still gets up every day to try. No, he's not a nun like his competition but he's not less devoted because of that. Not everyone is called to service. In the day he works at a defense lawyer to help people. Not for the money but to help people not get screwed over by the law. And at night, he dons a mask and beats up assholes when the law fails them. Is he perfect? No, that's the point. Matt is a broken man who is just trying his best to do well and live like Jesus.
He fully embodies the Catholic doctrine of faith and good works. He has faith in what he's doing even if others challenge him. He believes in forgiveness and repenting even when going up against "the devil."
"The people you murder deserve another chance." ... "No, Frank. To try again, Frank. To try. And if you don't get that, there's something broken in you you can't fix, and you really are a nutjob." "You think God made you a one-man firing squad. But you're wrong. There is goodness in people, even in you. And you're gonna have to kill me, 'cause I'm never gonna stop coming for you, until I take you down."
Daredevil Season 2 Episode 3
He (tries) to love his enemy. He believes in Elektra and Frank and maybe Dex and their ability to change. To be good. And when he can't, Matt refuses to compromise on his morals. While not quite "turning his cheek" he never scoops to their level. Because they don't get to destroy who he is.
Daredevil Season 3 Episode 13
All he does is for the love he has to his neighbors, his community. He loves New York. Not for self-fulfilling needs or for the money or for the fame. He does it because he believes in justice. Because the law was created by humans and is inherently sinful.
"But his competition met God and was disappointed and blah blah"
Daredevil is more grounded (at least the show, maybe less the comics). So now, Matt doesn't met God. But he sure gets mad at him. All of season 3 he angry at God for all the trauma he expired.

"You see, that was me, Sister. I suffered willingly. I gave my, uh... sweat and blood and skin without complaint. Because I too believed I was God's soldier. ( chuckles ) Well, not anymore. I am what I do in the dark now. I bleed only for myself. ( scoffs )" ... "You might hate God right now, but the feeling is not mutual." "No, I don't hate him. I've just seen his true face, is all."
Season 3 episode 1
As a Catholic I don't really want to fight God in a parking lot. Well I do but not in the same way that I've understood (primarily Jewish people but probably other Abrahamic religions) want to fight God in a Denny's parking lot. I want to yell and scream and cry at God and for the feeling to not be mutual. For Him to never stop loving me. As long as I have faith, He will reach out his hand.
Homura
she is a catholic lesbian whose girlfriend became god. she has been through so much.
shes such a lesbian for amdoke
Catholic guilt literally turned her into a demon
she literally watches everyone she knows die over and over and over again just so she can save madoka, the one girl who showed kindness towards her. when madoka ends up basically becoming god in order to stop the cycle of death and violence, homura RIPS AWAY THE HUMAN PART OF HER SOUL so that she can create a world where she and Madoka and their friends can live happily, effectively becoming the devil to madoka’s god
She has so much religious symbolism when it comes to her relationship to Madoka. Madoka is God and Homura becomes Lucifer so that she can save Madoka and give her happiness. She literally rips God from heaven and rewrites reality though. The way she sees her self and shapes reality is through the lense of Catholicism.
most fucked up little catholic girl. we love that for her.
Okay homuras entire fuckin arc is stemmed from the fact she is Catholic. Look at her trying to save Madoka over and over again and suffering for it because she thinks if she suffers enough and works hard enough Madoka will stay. Normal people do not go into time loops willingly. Catholics will.

But celebrity women's don't have any kind of scar on their body:( they all are so pretty. We need to expect that most of the girls are ugly😭 ( I am ugly too) that's why we need to say all of these things to ourselves, so might we feel a little good:((((
Oh there is so many things wrong with this no wonder your spirit guides wanted me to post that.
I would like you to stop using the word ‘we’. I, for instance, know that I am beautiful. I am a pretty person. And I know that people who follow my blog are incredibly beautiful too. They have pretty eyes, elegant hands - or cute ones -, the prettiest lashes, the most beautiful skin tones - my tanned babies - and thousands upon thousands of little things that are beautiful about them even if they might not think so. Their kinky hair, their blue eyes, that one unique little tooth they have, the freckles on their back and the way they shine in the sun. You could possibly be one of these, yet you can’t appreciate the beauty that’s in you.
I mean this regardless of gender identity. Boy, girl, non binary, whatever you might be.
When I was little I was taught something very important. It’s important to distinguish between what’s a personal problem, a problem that involves two people and a problem that consists of several people and factors. In my eyes, your problem is a personal one.
Don’t get me wrong, I am sure there are many people who relate to you and you are not completely the weird one here but it’s just that I wish you would love yourself a little more.
If you don’t love and value yourself, you cannot see the beauty in other people. You will only be able to idolise people who you deem better than yourself.
I am not saying you do that, I don’t know you as a person. It’s just something that I have come to learn as I got older. Maybe it can be something that will keep you sober when you put yourself down.
And I say sober because you seem to be drunk on self pity and comparing yourself to other people. It seems to drown you completely.
There is a healthy limit for everything, and you overstepped what’s an alright amount when it comes to comparing yourself to other people. I am not saying this to hurt you, I am saying it because I want you to feel healthier, to feel better in your skin and see all the things that make you so beautiful.
Because here’s the thing, even celebrities have scars on their body. Sometimes they are just at places where you cannot see them.
I will tell you examples, both men and women, you can fact check them yourself if you want.
I would like to start with Meghan Thee Stallion, God bless her beautiful soul I am not saying this to put her in any sort of negative position or speak badly about her, but she has a scar on her foot. It’s permanent, it will stay there. She is still a bad bitch. She is still beautiful. She knows this, I know this and the millions of men lusting after her know this.
Or, for example Beyonce. Many men want her, need her and would do anything about her. Hell, there are women devastated over who she chose as her spouse. She has scars from her c-section births. It’s going to stay there. She is beautiful regardless.
Kylie Jenner has a visible scar on her leg. It’s staying there forever, she has it since she is a child. Have you seen the people under her comment section? Whether you like her or not, she is an incredibly pretty woman who has millions of people wanting to be her and desiring her. A little scar won’t stop that.
Or, if you want me to list men, I will do that.
Jason Momoa, might not be your type but he is the sort of celebrity that can’t properly dine outside without people going up to him to ask for pictures. - Saw a story time w proof of it on it. - That is partly because people find him so attractive. He has a scar at his eyebrow. At that place, it’s not gonna grow back. People like the scar. They think it makes him look neat.
Or Tom Hardy, he has several smaller scars across his body from the times he was younger. Simply because he got into a lot of fights. It will stay there, forever. Yet, people still make edits of him because they are so attracted to him.
There is also Im Siwan, he is beautiful, drop dead gorgeous even. He has a small scar on his nose, yet people still ask him to let them sign an NDA. That man - if he isn’t a liar - has never dated yet in a serious manner. He has other, smaller, tinier scars on his face as well. I still saw both men and women act insane over him.
Cha Eunwoo has a scar on his bum yet he is still hot, Zhou Dongyu has a scar on her cheek yet she is still beautiful, Angelina Jolie has several scars including a huge one from a knife accident. People still go insane over her though.
Hell, Hyunwook, the guy on my pfp and each linked post on my pinned, has a visible scar on his nose. He is still gorgeous to the point it annoys me if he calls himself ugly.
In reality, each and every celebrity you see has a scar, whether it’s a small one, or a big one. They are either at places you will never be able to see, hidden by their clothes - and such - or simply edited out of pictures like photoshoots and promotional ones. These people are selling an image to you, not who they actually are.
I know this, I used to help one of my friends photoshop pictures of celebrities when he had an overwhelming amount of work to do and just needed someone to give a helping hand. What you see in ads, photoshoots, promotional pictures & videos and so on is not how these people look in their everyday life, it’s just the final product.
So, at the end of the day you will gain nothing out of comparing yourself to anybody in this world.
Just be yourself. Do your hair the way you want, care for yourself the way you wish to and look after your health. Don’t cage yourself up.
Besides, I don’t think ‘most girls are ugly’. That’s ridiculous! I don’t think anyone is ugly at all unless their behaviour and personality causes them to be.
Don’t put other people down because of the way you feel and you will actually feel better about yourself. I actually promise you that. At the end of the day you are the most gorgeous person to someone in this world, you just have to accept that fact.
I hope you know this answer is coming from a genuine desire to help you, not to put you down or make you feel bad about anything. - I am sorry if my wording is off, I have a terrible migraine right now. -
