🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project? Why is everyone asking for this one? Honestly no idea. I don't write about medical facts I don't already know. And we all have to check some geography facts or a lyric from time to time. Maybe outfits? Basketball teams in Japan and how their league works? The tours (from like 2 or 5 years ago at the time) in Japan with only information in Japanese? Pick your favourite

🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately? Honestly? Whatever I don't like. I'm pretty set on what I like and what I dislike and if a character is not portrayed like I have in my mind I go away. Recently it's been when authors just put female genitalia to justify mpreg. That and OC and self-inserted riders x characters/riders/drivers, but that something I have struggled all my life. Also this is not an attack for those who write it, I'm okay with it, but it's not my cup of tea at all

ok, the OTHER thing is that Tamsyn Muir's writing style is -- it's exactly everything I've ever wanted or loved. By turns insanely technical, rich, evocative, and also *deeply* irreverent. You have high level vocabulary and an obvious love for language and worldbuilding pressed right up against the memes and sex jokes. There's nothing better. and it's even better that it very much isn't one-note, that she has a strong understanding of character voice, which is *so* important in this story where souls are all possessing each other's bodies. I fell in love with Gideon and Harrow, but I was just as struck and pleased with Nona, so happy seeing the language pare down and simplify, as the tone of the story morphed perfectly to match Nona's own way of perceiving the world around her. what a writer

Tiktok's censorship of words like rape, kill, murder, abortion etc. etc. as well as censoring hard to hear topics, over the past few years has deeply contributed to the sanitisation of the internet and therefore directly resulted in the birth of "fandom purists" and the destruction of old fandom culture (the death of "don't like, don't read", "ship and let ship" mindsets as well as safe spaces for dark and "immoral"/unethical storytelling i.e "dead dove: do not eat") in a way that has fundamentally changed the mindsets of people who are new to fandom spaces and now view these such topics as wildly inappropriate for any social space as well as deeming anyone who is intrigued by them narratively or creatively as "immoral" and a bad person. this makes me soooo sick bc imagine being diluc. your entire childhood you strived to make your father proud and rise to his expectations and you DO, you get a vision at 10, become a cavalry captain at 14 (we should talk about that actually, what in the child soldier—) and everything is great. but then your dad dies and your entire world falls apart in just one day and you leave everything you know behind on a pointless quest for revenge. you come back years later and everything is the same but so, so different.

and then there's your little brother. undoubtedly capable, but never truly showing what he can do. he's cunning and strategic and always five steps ahead of everyone else, but timid, usually letting you or jean do the talking. he prefers sticking to the shadows (your shadow, specifically—), working behind the scenes. that's how you remember him.

but you come back and there he is. a stranger wearing your best friends face (not your best friend, not anymore, not after—). he's still the same, capable and cunning and smart and strategic, still working behind the scenes, but he's so, so different. gone are the gentle, shy smiles, the timid personality, the preference for sticking to somebody's shadow (there's no shadow to hide in, anymore—).

instead, he's outgoing and confident and there's a near-constant cocky smirk on his face and you don't know who you're looking at. to the people, he's the beloved cavalry captain. the acting grand masters right-hand man, a talented swordsman and vision-wielder. the "top candidate for grandson-in-law" if the word on the street is to be believed. he's reliable and witty and kind, always offering aid when he can. he doesn't look down on anyone, friendly even towards the most unusual visitors.

the model knight, one could say.

he walks into your tavern one night, orders his usual (a death after noon, your father's favourite, of all things, is he joking) and you watch as he chats up the most random people there. all charming smiles and suave words and you have to blink a few times as he absentmindedly twirls his wine glass. your mind is playing tricks on you, you know it, they have zero similarities in physical appearance, but for a second you could swear—

he looks just like your father.

(there's this little girl that follows him around sometimes. well. really, he's following her around, with the way she always runs ahead. she's energetic and chatty and you can't help but notice the pyro vision shining from her backpack (mocking you—) as kaeya looks at her with pure, unfathomable fondness, like she's the only thing that matters in the world.

the first time you hear her calling for his attention, you pause, for just a second. you've seen them around enough to be familiar with the duo, but that. that's a first. an excited voice sounds from somewhere over your shoulder, "big brother kaeya! look, look!" and you take a moment before glancing over. the little girl is crouching on the sidewalk, pointing at something on the ground and staring up at keaya with big, curious eyes. kaeya's there, leaning over her with a gentle smile and a soft, soft look in his eyes—. you turn away.

you can't quite catch kaeya's response, with him having a lot more control over his volume than an enthusiastic child, but his quiet chuckle and following, affectionate tone still register in your mind.

it's finally done, and it's probably the gooiest garbage i'll ever make.

credit to my new buddy @i-love-tdp-if-you-can-tell for doing almost all the characters' flat colors!! i am so so so infinitely thankful to them bc otherwise none of the other efforts of making this would have happened. between the lineart, backgrounds, shading, and touch-ups, these five pages have taken years off numerous braincells' lifespans, and without their help, may have annihilated my entire brain capacity.

🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings Let's go with Pedrenzo. Dani loved Jorge for a long time, but he wasn't brave enough to act until Puig was not in his life. I see Puig as a guy that will keep drilling on Dani's head that Jorge is a bad influence and stay out of his way. So in 2012 had too spend so much time together (media, podium, press conference, etc) and made him saw Puig was wrong. At the end on 2012 Dani fires Puig and in 2013 he gives himself the chance to really get to know Jorge

🪐 ⇢ name three good things going on in your life right now I have inspiration, our female cockatiel it's doing much better and both birds trust us more and play more with us.

🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project? Honestly I don't know. Could either be searching for the dates of 2 tours on Japan, with all the media in Japanese and I don't talk, or trying to understand how the Japanese basketball league works (because apparently they have 2 and both are the top ones). I usually go with vibes

🏜️ ⇢ what's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work? Anything really. I love every comment I get, but maybe when people tell me what they liked the most to see if I can 'put it' or 'replicate it' in other words. (I don't know how to explain it 😅)
