You followed your nose to find Sean. He always thought he was so sneaky, so clever in finding his spots to toke up before a match. You could hardly blame him; it didn't matter how long anyone had been in this business, everyone got nervous from time to time. 

It had taken him trial and error, but he'd found just the right sativa hybrid that gave him that energetic boost but still took the edge off any nagging soreness. But it still had that signature skunkiness that was like a scent beacon.

And sure enough, here he was, sitting on the edge of a loading dock, kicking his feet with a thin wisp of smoke curing and rising above him. You smirked. His in-ring work wasn't the only stamina that it improved, so there wasn't much you'd complain about.

“Tsk tsk,” you said, startling Sean as his head whipped around, instant relief on his face when he saw it was you, “Sir, you do realize this is illegal,” You teased him as you sat down, letting your legs dangle off the edge of the concrete dock.

“I told you,  no busting my balls before a match,” he took a slow drag before offering it to you, “Unless you're mouth is open for ‘em”

You couldn't help but giggle at his crassness. Weed stimulated him in many ways and could tell by his somewhat lazy gaze that he was gonna have some energy post-match left over just for you.

He held the joint while you gently put it between your lips and inhaled slowly. The cherry smoldered as he was laser focused on your pursed lips. As you pulled away and slowly inhaled to keep from coughing, it still burned your lungs as it wafted into them. 

As you exhaled, Sean slipped his hand around the back of your neck and pulled you to him,  his mouth open as you blew the column of smoke directly into his mouth. 

His hand slid to the side of your neck and up to your jawline, his thumb grazing over your slack lips as he licked his own. He huffed a husky chuckle as he slid the tip of his thumb between your lips and the tip of your tongue traced around it before sucking it gently for a moment. 

“Wasting those pretty lips sucking on the wrong thing,” Sean took a quick hit before kissing you. 

The smoke slipped into your mouth as his tongue pushed past your lips to intertwine with yours. His hand still held where your chin and neck met. A possessive hold that he squeezed gently as if to remind you he was in charge. 

As if you'd ever forget.

“Don't get too worked up Mr. Waltman, you still have work to do before you can get that dick wet,” You reminded him with a playful tease. The deep growl that came from his throat told you the words had hit their mark. 

You picked up his hand and took one more quick hit from the joint between his fingertips before blowing it to the side.

Leaning in, you kissed the side of his neck while your hand slid over his thigh and drifted between them. The fact that he was already at half mast under his tight spandex was no surprise. He was easy to arouse in this state. Your grasp did little to reduce it.

“You damn tease,” he tried to sound mad, but you both knew that he loved the attention and the bait. He sucked in a breath as you nibbled on the reactive skin and your hand continued its teasing manipulation.

“You know you love it,” you said, licking a trail up to his ear as you whispered in it. Kissing his cheek you stood and walked away, knowing he was looking over his shoulder and watching you walk away. At the last moment you looked over your own and winked back at him. 

He'd make you pay later for being such a tease, but it was always a price you didn't mind paying.

So my inbox currently contains over 1,600 messages. I am getting Very Overwhelmed, apologies to everyone who is waiting for me to get back to them.

Something I have spotted, though, is that far too many of these have a common theme. Of the top thirty currently sitting at the top of my inbox, 19 are questions about haircare and the CGM. Of those, 12 are exactly the same question - namely, "Is co-washing just washing with conditioner instead of shampoo?" - which I have answered multiple times in multiple different posts, all of which are in my "Hair" tag (the answer is yes, please stop asking).

The other 7 are different hair questions - but, all but one is something I have answered before, in most cases more than once. Again, in my "Hair" tag.

Listen; I love you all! And I don't mind people asking me novel questions, even, within reason (although I am about to come to that)! But it is not my job to provide this information, and it is absolutely not my job, obligation, responsibility or anything else to keep writing out the SAME INFORMATION again and again and again. It is certainly absolutely not my pleasure to do so, either. I have explained how the method works now. I have explained the sorts of things to avoid. I have recommended CG friendly products. I have tagged all of this.

If you're going to ask me about this stuff, for the love of all that's holy, would you PLEASE look through my damn hair tag first and save me the increasingly stressful task of opening my inbox and seeing another five variants of the exact same already-answered question in a single day. I am not here to provide you a service. I'm here to do you a favour - PLEASE do me one, and check you aren't very literally wasting my time first. As I say, I am more than happy to answer novel questions on this! I'm also happy to clarify if I've worded something in a confusing way! But identical process questions for the seventeenth time in a week is starting to feel disrespectful.

But, I have to also say:

I am just Some Guy on the internet. I am not a professional. I have joked that I am not a Hairxpert, and you've all gone "Lol, yeah, not a Hairxpert, we get it - anyway, what products in America are good? What's your advice for <hair type you don't have?> If I live in an area with hard water (unlike you), what should I do?"

I am Not A Professional.

If you need specialist advice, YOU NEED TO GO AND FIND A SUPPORT GROUP. Buy the handbook, like I did! Go and find one of the hundreds of CGM websites that are free to use! Find a sub-Reddit! These will be full of people who actually are professionals, and will be able to answer these questions. I cannot tell you how best to adapt the method I use for type 4 curls, because I don't have those; you need a professional, or a support group with people who have type 4 curls. I cannot tell you the best styling and drying techniques for pixie cut curls, because my hair is down to my ass; you need a professional, or a support group of curly people with pixie cuts. I cannot tell you the best products to use on a remote island nation I have never even visited; you need a professional, or at the very least, a neighbour.

In fact, as an addendum to that last one, I have now been asked by six different people on separate occasions what my advice is for them because they live on "an island" and can't get the products I use and also can't get Amazon, and... guys!!!? How could I possibly answer that??? You haven't even told me which island, for one, but for quite another, if I'm not a hair expert, I'm certainly not an International Shipping To Remote Islands expert!!! What do you want from me?? I'm just some guy. Who uses a method. I can tell you the basics of it (which I have, extensively), and I can tell you what I personally do (which I have, extensively), and that's it. I have zero expertise beyond that. Anything else is information I would have to try and get from a support group of other people to report back, at which point, you bloody do it. I am not CGM customer support.

To reiterate - I truly, honestly, don't mind getting novel questions that I haven't already answered, or clarifying things that might be confusing; to be honest, it's not like I even massively mind someone going "I live in a desert, how could I combat dryness?". But if you ask me, a Welsh woman, a question like that, you're going to have to accept that my advice is, at best, going to be guesswork or second/third-hand information I once saw someone else mention online somewhere that I have now mostly forgotten if I ever truly saw it at all. Because I do not live in a desert, and I am not a professional.

ALSO A NON-HAIR POINT

I said at the start of this post that 19 of the top thirty messages in my inbox right now are hair questions. Five, though, follow a different pattern.

I imagine this is part of my follower count still exploding (I gained another three thousand of you since August, to give an idea; where the fuck are you all coming from?!? Really like grilled cheese adventures, huh), but I've started getting A LOT of messages from people who blatantly want to use me as a billboard to get their message out. Sometimes a serious message about a vital global issue, sometimes a relatively trivial one about a piece of media they want people to see, and anything in between.

I sympathise. I do understand. But I am not a billboard.

Apart from anything else, I just don't have the time to go fact checking and researching everything to make sure I'm being a Good Billboard, and it would be incredibly irresponsible of me to avoid that step and just blindly go "Sure, yeah, signal boost" and hit publish. If you send me one of these, I am unlikely to do anything with it, I'm sorry. It might put something on my radar, and make me more likely to pay attention when I see the issue being posted organically - when the Iranian protests began someone sent me a message asking me to reblog a particular user's post about it (not their own, it was a separate user). I didn't post that ask, but I did go and manually check the user in question's blog, found a good infographic post there about the protests, and I was able to reblog that. That was fine. But even then, if I hadn't had the time to do that (my life is very busy), that ask would have been buried.

Anyway, I don't want to discourage asks in my inbox generally, nor is this me yelling at anyone or telling anyone off. But with the hair thing in particular, I cannot go on like this pls take pity T_T

Finally decided to do a TVD rewatch now that the 'verse is complete. Since I know how everything ends I thought it would be interesting to see how I react with that knowledge. Curious if my feelings might change about characters, ships, storylines etc. (obviously I am fully aware there's going some bias).

Adding my thoughts after I complete the half-way mark of each season (there is simply too many episodes to do a recap of each one). S1 Episodes 1-11

I am loving the dark atmosphere of the first season, feeling so much nostalgia! Nice to go back in time to when vampires were scary on this show. That's not really criticism because every supernatural show goes through this. The big bad must always be upped as it goes on but it was nice when the stakes were lower and the mythos was being developed.

Damon makes me feel so uncomfortable so far... I know he was the 'villian' for most of the beginning of the season but his treatment of Vicki and Caroline is just so predatory and gross. Which brings me to...

WHY HAS NO ONE GIVEN CAROLINE A GOD DAMN VERVAIN NECKLACE ALREADY!!! Stefan and Elena both know Damon was using her (and they know damn well he hasn't stopped). Her Mom has the vervain to give her and just has not for no reason!! GET AWAY FROM HER ALREADY! I got so mad when Damon was compelling her AGAIN in the 10th episode. I'm so glad she outlives them all, justice for my baby!

I'm sorry but Stefan is so creepy and self-righteous in the beginning, I remembered this but did not remember how bad it was. Also he did not need to kill Vicki, that pissed me off. I don't think it did as much when I first watch this (mind you that was literally 14+ years ago) but just knowing how freely everyone neck-snaps around here it was bullshit. His one cool moment remains when he told Logan he can't walk in the sun. The manipulative way he used Elena’s adoption to get her to forgive him had me rolling my eyes (then of course she used it against Jenna to get out of trouble lol).

I can't remember who the other vampire is who turned Logan, I'm thinking its Pearl's henchman but yeah I don't remember that part. I also didn't remember the crystal so I like that some of this is like a 'mystery' again.

I did remember that I thought Tyler was such a dick in the first season and yeah confirmed. Though now I remembered his Dad was an abusive piece of shit. Still, fuck Tyler for now.

Alaric looks so different I don't hate him (yet).

The progression of Bonnie realizing her powers has been well done, again nice to just see the simple magic again. (Stefan totally wanted to bang Sheila back in the day... maybe they did)

Jeremy just met Anna and I still love them, I wish they got more time. They were the only 'ship I like in this season when it first aired.

The Bonnie, Elena and Caroline friendship is nice but I am annoyed they haven't done more to protect Caro from Damon. Especially when she doesn't know what's going on and they do (though Bonnie only just got all the deets). This might be magnified by my love of Caroline I admit but I hate the prop-y way she's being used so far.

I kinda rolled my eyes at the whole Katherine/Damon/Stefan stuff before Elena knew they were vamps because OMG Stefan is 17(!!!) Does no one thinks it's weird he's like "it was a long time ago" A LONG TIME AGO LIKE WHEN YOU WERE 12?! They should have made him at least 20, just bothers me.

I liked that not every vampire had a daylight ring and it was more of a novelty. That is something that could have stuck more in the later seasons.

Lines that made me laugh:

Caroline: Yeah, Elena wasn't so lucky today. It's only because you missed summer camp. God, I don't know how you're ever going to learn the routines. (Bonnie offers to help her) I guess we can put her in the back. (all right in front of Elena lmao oh Caroline never change)

Caroline: So, Elena...how long do you think this fight with Stefan's gonna last? Is it...like a permanent thing? (eyes on the prize baby! lol)

Stefan: (imitating Damon) Now that the secret society of vampire haters is off our back, I can go back to my routine of how can I destroy Stefan’s life this week. (never gets old!)

Damon: *shoots Logan with wooden bullets* Payback's a bitch, isn't it? (all in the delivery here lmao kudos to Ian)

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

So if my calculations are correct I have 6 published works. It is not much but frankly if someone asked me 4 years ago how many stories will I ever post online I would laugh and tell them none because my anxiety is not fond of publishing anything. It's kinda crazy to see how much I actually ended up writing and how many people like those stories <3

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

Oh crap, just let me grab a calculator ... ehm ... it seems that my AO3 word count is 417 452 words ... damn that's like 4-5 novels and it'd be even more if I counted the stuff that is on wattpad ... crazy

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Well my main fandom is DreamSMP but I also have a Tokyo revengers fic and a pretty promising draft for a Durarara one shot

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

1. Monsters don't deserve hugs but you aren't a monster

By far my most popular fic. When I posted this I expected it to get like 50 kudos top but it blew up and it makes me incredibly happy to see more and more people read it and leave all those lovely kudos and comments. I have no idea what I did to deserve so much attention but I'm grateful with all my heart <3

2. Smiling masks and golden crowns

I'll be honest I didn't expect people to like Sam and Dream content so much but once again this fic exceeded my expectations, which I'm very happy about because I really enjoy writing it and nothing makes me happier than to know that I'm not the only one who loves it :)

3. Crow's nest

A lovely story I wrote together with @bleue-flora. It was super fun to write and unlike my other fics it's pretty cannon accurate (thanks to Flora ofc, I could never lol).

4. Haitani's little sister

The only non-DSMP story you will see here! This is my very first story and frankly it shows, it's quite terrible. Story vise I like this creation of mine but when it comes to the writing style and storytelling ... let's just say that once I'm over with school I might just completely rewrite it ....

I do! Sometimes I get a bit busy/overwhelmed with life but I do my best to respond to everyone who comments on my stories. Sadly sometimes the anxiety becomes too much but I try my best. My readers are very important to me and I want to let them know that I really do read their comments and appreciate them <3

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

.... I like happy ends so ... I don't really do angsty endings ... frankly I don't even do endings lol, yeah I tend to get a bit too wrapped up in writing and my fics are just getting longer instead of ending 🤦‍♀️But if I were to pick the one that will have the angstiest ending it would probably be Smiling masks and golden crowns. Mostly because I have a sequel planned for it that will cover the happy end I desire.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Again, other than Crow's nest none of my fics are actually finished but the one that will have the happiest ending will probably be Monster's don't deserve hugs but you aren't a monster

8. Do you get hate on your fic?

Thank all the gods above, no. I have no self-esteem so if anyone hated on my work I'd probably cry and be afraid to post for some time unless someone would be persistent enough to convince me that it's not bad and so on ... On the bright side, rather than hate it'd be just confirming my insecurities

9. Do you write smut?

..... ehm ... well ... you see ... I ... maybe ... might have .... Okay, yeah I do have one smut story on wattpad from a while back. I'm not updating it anymore as it wasn't really good and all but ... yeah, it happened once ...

I had some ideas but sadly I didn't get to write them yet

If I had I'm yet to find out, so I'm gonna go with no

Yep! Someone is translating Crow's nest into Russian which is pretty amazing. A few people asked if they can translate Monsters don't deserve hugs but you aren't a monster, Smiling masks and golden crowns and Haitani's little sister but I never actually found out whether they did ... thinking about it I might try to check 🤔

13. Have you ever co-written a fic?

Yes, I had! Writing Crow's nest would not be possible without @bleue-flora! We had time limit and time zones made this whole project rather difficult but I'm very happy with how it turned out and I would totally be down to do it again it someday. Although before that I gotta get better so I can help Flora more 😅

Hmmmm .... well, I'm someone who has many WIPs but most of them are just drafts and/or a few scenes with close to no content so there are quite many of them that will probably never be finished or posted. From my posted ones .... well ... The tale of grief and glory is not getting many updates and Pathetic is ... I like the fic and I really wish to continue it but I kind of lost motivation after 'No rest for the wicked' by A_ghoul was deleted .... one day when I'll have more time I will certainly try to finish it but for now it's fate is rather insecure ...

16. What’s your writing strengths?

Strengths? What are strengths? ... For real though, I don't really know, whether I see my writing I feel like there is nothing outstanding about it, nothing to capture the audience and yet ... Perhaps, if I squint real hard I might consider my ability to side track a strength? It's not the best and in essays it's the absolute worst but when it comes to fanfics ... I don't really know whether I'm right about this or no but I would say that all those side plots help to make my fic be different from other fics? Because ... overall my ideas are not the most creative ones - Monsters don't deserve hugs but you aren't a monster? The core idea of this fic is so basic it hurts. But ... then I messed around with it and ... I dare to say that it managed to be different from the other fics featuring the same story. At least I really hope so. I'm not going to pretend that it was a plan, actually it's quite the opposite, I struggle to keep a single line of thought and even if I do have some plan for the fic I'm rarely able to follow it flawlessly. More often than not I will just stray from it and do something extra that just came to mind

17. What’s your writing weaknesses?

... literally everything. I struggle with world-building, my dialogues are trash, the pacing is messed up and those sideplots I mentioned before are a double sided blade ... but the thing that bothers me the most is grammar. I'm not a native speaker and, in spite of what my english proficiency test says, my english is certainly not very good. Especially when it comes to grammar and spelling I need to improve. Sadly this shows in my works and I'm really sorry about it. It is a little bit better now that I got a beta-read (God bless @bleue-flora, I'll never cease to be grateful for all the time she spent editing my chapters so they are a little bit more readable)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I never really had to do this in my fics so far but if I were to write a dialogue in a different language I'd probably put a translation. If the character speaks different language I think it is good to use that language but I absolutely hate it when people don't include translation.

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

*looks at all my fics* I hate them all equally, I srsly can't pick one. But ... well if I had to pick a favorite it would be either Monsters don't deserve hugs but you aren't a monster or Smiling masks and golden crowns. Those two are currently the most fun to write and ... dunno, I just like the story I guess. But then again I'm emotionally attached to all my written babies. I spent so many hours (that I should've spent sleeping) writing those, it's hard not get attached.

5- Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Honestly? Only when I feel I have something to add to the comment. Sometimes I see a comment with "Great Chapter/Episode" (which I really absolutely love, btw. Any comment makes me so damn happy I can't even explain) and I never know what to say to that and I don't want the person to feel I don't care about their comments when I just reply with "Thanks! I'm Glad you liked it <3" and I keep thinking about different things to read and I never can and when I see it, I have a bunch of unanswered comments which makes me overwhelmed to start.

So yeah, I usually only reply when I know what to say lol

6- What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Ending? (none? lol)

Posted, I'd say "The Way I Loved You", which I thought the ending might be kinda open? I don't usually do sad endings. I think "Faithuffy", "Of Noble Blood" and "You Belong With Me" have some rather angsty parts, along with "Lockdown" which touched a rather sensitive part of me. But all the endings were/will be (THEY WILL HAPPEN I PROMISE!) happy.

Unposted, it's probably "A Dead Man's Tale" which I'm writing right about now and I hope to start posting by Halloween on Tuesday (fingers crossed). The ending is... sentimental? Idk Kinda sad but happy too? I have no idea how to describe that. Either that or Raise a Little Hell, my Bonnie and Clyde, which will be my only NHEA story ever(if), when I get to write it.

7- What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

All of them? Lol

Walking The Wire because I finished it? sdakljfkdsgh I have no idea. Maybe Lockdown bc it's such a hard battle to end happily in the end.

Not on the Bridgerton ones, thankfully. Everyone that reads it is amazing which makes me really happy.

I had a pretty harsh time when I started on the Reylo Fandom in Star Wars. Not fun, I'll give you that.

9- Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I write hotter scenes, although I don't think I've ever finished an entire sex scene. That said, I have a one-shot called Stockings that is about 85% done which is porn/no plot that I might one day finish but I'm not that much of a fan of it, to be honest.

10- Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Unless you count crossover with Julia Quinn's own other series, no I don't.

11- Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I am aware of.

12- Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, which is kinda sad because I am a translator and I could very well do it myself lol but Idk if there are too many Portuguese-speaking readers that would be interested in it, and although I speak pretty good Spanish, I'm a tad out of practice and I don't master the written language nearly enough to attempt to translate something to Spanish.

13- Have you ever co-written a fic before?

A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away. It was... nice. And not at the same time. I hold myself to very VERY high standards, so I'm extremely self-critical and working with someone with different styles and ideas can be really harsh without trying to dictate the way you want the story to go. Plus the three times I did, we ended up giving up halfway through the story lol

14- What's your all-time favorite ship?

This is a stupid question and I hate it. I'm not good at picking. I am deeply, truly in love with Kathony, and have been for the past couple of years, but if I had to say at the top of my head, the oldest OTPs that have been in my heart, the ones here for the longest time and never really left are Percabeth from Percy Jackson and Jily from Harry Potter. Reylo and Rebelcaptain in Star Wars were also a very big part of me for a long time and I love them.

Asking all-time faves is mean.

15- What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Sought you, Sang you, Dreamed you, my Reylo Kidfic. I love it so much and I am so sorry my baby, but I can't focus on Reylo anymore. I have complete faith I will finish all my Kathony fics one day, I really do.

16- What are your writing strengths?

I honestly have no idea. As I mentioned, I am very self-conscious about what I do and I have incredibly high standards about myself. It's not uncommon to see me saying I hate my story and I won't post it and it's absolutely shit, I have no idea why people read it. So pointing out a quality is really hard.

I guess I'm good at dialogues? I always felt they sounded nice, idk.

17- What are your writing weaknesses?

I'm running a risk of repeating myself too much if I mention standards and self-consciousness, don't I?

I am terribly wordy. Nothing I do is short because I need 1k words for something I could have done in 200. I always feel people will get bored by it.

I also sometimes feel I have issues representing the emotions I'm trying to put through in my story. Many times you'll find me going to a neutral third party saying "Please tell me what's missing here." bc I feel it lacks.

Let's not mention the lack of self-discipline and the amount of time it takes me to write a story/update something. And overthinking things. Also coming up with more ideas than I have time to write.

18- Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I do that all the time? I am a native Portuguese speaker and English is my second language.

19- First fandom you wrote for?

Lol that's going far back, isn't it? I have been writing originals since I was 10 (I have a lil notebook with the first story I've ever written, it's adorable, but as usual, incomplete), but in 2011 I was obsessed with a soap opera called Rebelde (the Brazilian version, when I liked the Mexican RBD one, I didn't really know what fandom was yet. BUT I'M GOING TO THE CONCERT ON THE 9TH I'M SO EXCITED) and my first fic was a Roberta x Diego one, which is complete and (unfortunately, -or not- not all of it) available in Nyah Fanfiction, although I wish it wasn't bc it's truly shit. Like very very very shit. It was crazy, she died of lung cancer in the end. I swear to God, I had no clue what was going on with me at 14.

20- Favorite fic you've written?

Okay, look, this is not fun lol

I truly, honestly can't pick. Each one is special for me for a different reason. The Way I Loved You was my first Kathony. You Belong With me my first WIP and I have such a special place for it. I could go on and on for hours. I love them all, even the ones which are not my faves (Bad Habits, Reading Project).

Babe what does this even mean??? What do you mean “get to know me”?? Shows that are the reason that I am the way I am?? That make people watch them and then go “yeah this explains so much about you”? Blorbos I project too hard on?? The vibes? The core memories??? The quoteability?? Which ones make me scream out loud the most?? What does it all mean?? You already follow my blog, you know which shows I'm obsessed with, but what shows do even give insight into anything besides what I like in stories??

But uh yeah. My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Easy pick. Whatever reasoning you want from the potential meanings of this tag game up there, it has it. The first three seasons are so good! Though I did drop it when Twlight became an alicorn, that just felt too much toy-selling show to me personally, same with equestria girls. But like I grew up watching old school MLP (G1), and I adored it. Then I reach 20 and suddenly FiM (G4 for those keeping track) comes out and it is such a gigantic blast from the past and damn if I didn't get hooves over head from the start. I was obsessed. I was one of the “mods are asleep, post ponies” people. And the way they fucking based Pinkie Pie on me? Like right down to the Pinkamena rock farm backstory? Scary stuff right there I’m tellinng you. 

But 7 other shows to pick?

Monarch of the Glen is an old show, and I will admit that I haven’t Really watched it since I was in school but it has stayed in the back of my mind since I was like 10 so. I never cared for the main couple, as characters they are fine but even back then it felt like a “oh yeah, here’s two pretty people from opposite genders (and social status) and so we have to make them get together” which was Not what the show was about To Me! But just all the other interpersonal relationships? The parents romantic relationship? Top notch.  The struggle of trying to please your parents but still doing your own thing? Trying to find out what that thing is? It does never get old. Also I had the biggest crush on Duncan and that does tell you so much about my type still lol

Galavant released the trailer and at first glance everyone already knew it was a very Me show. I’m not sure what it says about me, but it fits me very well. With the sense of humour, disney references, bursting into unprompted song, wanting to dress like a ren fair character, horseback riding, daring sword fights. A prince in disguise! I mean what. I don’t project on anyone super hard, but I do vibe like crazy to the whole thing, and the soundtrack is a banger that never truly leaves my brain.

Scrubs might just look like the silly little doctor comedy show, and it is! But it also has SO MUCH heart and I just love the lessons it comes with. Again, it’s been a hot minute since I watched it so I won’t vouch for how well the humour has aged, but that was never the point of the show either. The point of the show was watching people care about each other in all different kinds of relationships and so many of the more heartfelt exchanges still live in my soul even now. Like that time JD went to the “evil lab guy” everyone was scared of because he didn’t want his patient to have what the results said they did and the lab guy asked “do you Think I made a mistake or do you Hope I did?” and JD just said “I’m kinda hoping you did” and the whole scene softened and lab guy did the test again. I don’t know, that scene has lived rent-free in my mind for like 20 years whenever I hope things aren’t as bad as they seem, hoping that some higher power lab guy will take pity on me and say they mixed some tests up.

Malcolm in the middle is again just that silly chaotic show from when we were kids - sibling edition - but again it just has so much heart and I don’t know. Watching it again as an adult, yes sure, it has aged, but the big bits stay the same. How the parents Chose each other every day. How the kids might beat each other up with bricks but wouldn’t hesitate to turn to arson if anybody else tried to do the same to their brothers? Yes, it means a lot and even though I might not have “learned” as much from it as Scrubs, it still resonates with me about how growing up felt.

Until We Meet Again because at my heart I am a hopeless romantic who wants to believe in soulmates. It’s a pretty recent show in general, and I only watched it a year ago, but it felt like it understood me more than I understood it, so it is on this list anyway. But I will always hope that if someone meant enough to you and you meant enough to them you Will find your way back to each other, in this life or the next. Not saying this show didn’t absolutely destroy me, I spent 3 hours just crying and shaking after the first episode, and I think I spent a majority of the show being a dehydrated little blob, but it was so worth it. To watch both timelines fall in love and choose each other? To watch the modern timeline have friends and be happy among more than just each other? Everything I could have asked for. 12/10. For real.

Not sure what Goblin has to say about me. We’re all depressed and deserve a good cry and a hug? I guess it means that there is always hope for things to get better, in some way. Even if it doesn’t come about as you thought it would, or when you hoped. But there is always someone out there who cares about you, whether or not you know they do.

I can’t believe I almost forgot about Black Books! Fran is me and I will turn into Fran if bf ever does leave me rip. For real. I even used to have a marriage pact with a friend who was just like Bernard that stated if we both reach our 40s and are single we can be drunk and miserable together. So many of these moments get referenced on a daily basis in our home, everything from how “on no accounts must they know the real you!” to the Cleaner. Yes, if you watch this show it will explain so much about me. (Please don’t do that)

Okay, yeah. This only took like 4 days to complete lmao. Might have taken it a bit more serious than intended, but the theme of the game is just to wide and I didn’t only want “these are the shows I’m currently obsessing over” cause yall already follow me and know which ones those are.

Oh my GOD. This was a mistake.

Okay, so like. Is this only including WIPs I'm actively working on? Because if so, then I have one. Very proud of that fact. I'm super focused and have the willpower to write stuff.

If you mean, like, WIPs that I started posting on AO3 and then never touched again, then... I have 8.

They are:

Five-Drink Henry (RWRB, Alex/Henry, neighbors AU) - this is the one I'm actively working on. I am so fucking determined to finish it.

Change of Plan(t)s (HP, Draco/Hermione/Neville, sex pollen trope) - it's actually marked as 2/2 chapters, which is hilarious. There is definitely supposed to be at least one more chapter.

An Auction (HP, Draco/Hermione, omegaverse) - I miss writing this one, although I am fully on my RWRB bullshit right now with no signs of turning back, lol.

Not What This Is (HP, Draco/Hermione, bloody on your doorstep trope) - I left this one on a very angsty cliffhanger. Sorry.

Where There's Smoke (HP, Draco/Hermione, firefighter AU) - everyone died. The end.

Just Like Quidditch (HP, Draco/Hermione, based on the movie Friends with Benefits) - this was fun to write but I haven't updated it in like 18 months.

Beach Retreat (HP, Draco/Hermione, only one bed trope) - I literally got until they actually slept together and then bounced.

The War Rehabilitation Centre (HP, Draco/Hermione, post-war angst and trauma) - my first fic on AO3!

2. Which of your WIPs is currently the longest?

Five-Drink Henry at 8,348 words. I am obviously incredible at writing very long things. Actually, now that I'm looking at all my AO3 WIPs, I'm realizing nearly all of them have petered out between 6k to 8k words. Gulp.

3. Which WIP do you expect will end up the longest?

Five-Drink Henry, lol. Since it's the only one I'm writing.

4. Which WIP is your favourite to write/the most enjoyable to write? Why?

OMG ALL MY ANSWERS FOR THIS DAMN THING ARE GOING TO BE THE SAME FIC.

Anyway, the answer is Five-Drink Henry.

5. Which WIP do you find the most intimidating to write? Why?

Where There's Smoke. I knew nothing about firefighting. All I had was a computer and a dream, so I read articles, interviewed people I knew (not firefighters, but people in firefighter-adjacent work), scoured Quora answers, took notes from "Day in the Life" videos, watched Station 19, etc.

6. Which WIP do you experience the most self-doubt about. Why?

The War Rehab Centre. It was an idea that moved me so much that I HAD to post it? I made, like, my SISTERS and my best friends IRL read my first chapters for me because I was so nervous about getting exactly right. And then basically no one read it and now I'm too afraid to reread it so anyway yeah that one

7. Which of your WIPs will you seek out a beta/sensitivity reader for? Why?

I had betas for the first two chapters of Just Like Quidditch, and I had a beta for Not What This Is. For the latter, it was because I was experimenting with a non-linear style and was worried I was not pulling it off, lol. I think it turned out pretty well though although we never will know wtf happened to Draco.

8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of writer's block?

Yes, 7 of them.

9. Which WIP has your favourite OC? Tell us about them?

Five-Drink Henry has some random new people to round out Alex and Henry's friend group. I have a soft spot for Felicity, who Henry at first found intimidatingly attractive but is actually, like, his biggest fan and isn't afraid to give Alex shit.

10. Which WIP is the sexiest?

Besides War Rehab Centre, they're actually all rated E, lol.

An Auction is sexy because of the whole alpha/omega biologically induced desperation? Where There's Smoke has this laundry room scene that I've heard is pretty enjoyable.

11. Which WIP is the angstiest?

Not What This Is. Basically, Hermione hires Draco to sleep with her but then they catch feelings and it's all a mess but also he suddenly appears at her door quite obviously dying? There is no chapter 2.

12. Which WIP has the best characterisation (in your humble opinion)?

UGH DON'T ASK ME THIS. I pride myself on good characterization but also it feels weird to say I characterized anyone well, lol. Probably Five-Drink Henry. IDK.

13. Which WIP has the best scene setting (in your humble opinion)?

None of them. I hate describing places.

14. Which WIP have you worked the hardest on?

Where There's Smoke. It was the only one I did research for.

15. Which WIP do you have the highest expectations for? Why?

Five-Drink Henry, because it's going to be my FIRST COMPLETED MULTICHAP. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.

No, but now I want to write a David POV into Five-Drink Henry. Really get into his mind.

Writer Tag Game

I mean i guess this doesn't require finished writing, [redacted]. glad to see me "{REDACTED] STOP TAGGING ME IN FIND THE WORD CHALLENGE 2K23" message actually worked lol

Do you write in order?

Yes and no. So yeah, I do write in order. This helps me avoid plot holes and keep characterization consistent.

But also? Fuck no. I am writing Books 1 and 2 of Call Me Icarus at the same time. I write side stories that are both canon and not canon to the CMI Universe. I write what my heart desires at that moment lol

Do you start with something particular?

I have found that even though I do not plan my stories, I like to have the title and a basic idea of what I am writing before starting. So far, that has been a vague idea and a feeling.

EX: For Call Me Icarus, I started with the idea of Greek Mythology in modern times. The Emotion I wanted was the Sublime. the character I wanted was Icarus. From there I kept toying with names, but I said Call Me Icarus out loud and it just felt right. Only then was I able to start writing.

How fully formed does your writing come out the first try?

Oh it is damn near perfect. I have never been a humanities type person, having been a Chemistry and Psychology double major with a Forensic Science minor up until the pandemic hit. Because of this, the writing that I am highly trained in is methodical and rarely needs revision.

This has extended into my creative writing. I have found through the part of the draft and the snippets that I have posted here that I have very little to revise. It quite literally leaves a bad taste in my mouth to write something that I am not proud of at any given moment.

How many drafts do you go through?

I am currently writing my very first book ever with CMI, so I do not know yet. I am planning on this draft, a second editing draft, then a Final Revision. But we'll see.

I mean don't get me wrong I love Lady Vengeance Sansa - just not at the expense of her more compassionate core. She should have had more scenes with Theon as Reek damnit - we should've seen her conflicted feelings of wanting to hate this man who betrayed her family and "killed her little brothers" (in her mind bc he didn't actually kill them) and yet undeniably feeling immense sympathy for him (bc that's her goddamn character David and Dan! She's not heartless and she's definitely not revenge-driven like Arya is - like she is literally the opposite of heartless you damn hacks!) Not to mention her ultimately relating to him - not only as Ramsay's victim but as a hostage herself being as she was held captive by the Lannisters while Theon was held captive by the Starks. Like she empathizes with Theon, in a way that none of the other characters do. And tbf the series does show this aspect of her character with Sophie Turner's wonderful performance but it would've been better if the writers hadn't tried to mess that all up with Sansa and Theon's earlier scenes. (I will never not be salty about the whole "if I could do what Ramsay did to you I would" - like GIRL NO YOU WOULDN'T!) And I'm not even going to touch what those hacks made her do in the last couple of seasons bc this rant is long enough and I don't have the patience to get into all that. Which leads me to -

Oh dear, hm, okay. I have a lot going on, but there’s only one I’ve really been working on at the moment lol, but here yall go in order of how recently I’ve worked on them: 

“Swinging on the Rails (train AU)”: 

I was trying to do NaNoWritMo with this but then midterms stole my kneecaps lol. I have a few chapters for this up on ao3 already but essentially its a historical fiction romance fic between my fallout OC Sawyer and a friend of mine’s OC Baron. Takes place in London during the 1920s and is a slowburn fic about them slowly getting to know each other and falling in love yada yada yada. Baron’s a railway worker and Sawyer’s an architect who rides his train every day. Eventually there’ll be some assassin’s creed stuff tied in because I love Syndicate to death and ofc there’ll be some fallout characters popping up as I write more. 

“Bawyer meeting number 2 electric boogaloo”:

This is technically my friend’s fic, but she’s having me write some of the dialogue and bouncing ideas off of me for it so imma include it in this for funsies. Basically is a small fic from Baron’s POV of him and Sawyer meeting up from the first time post-war with Elder Cross’s BoS negotiating with the MM about the missing Prydwen and her crew. Baron was the trusted pilot with transport to the very intense meeting and Sawyer’s the General who’s absolutely pissed the BoS are once again harassing the Commonwealth and wants them to leave them alone. Neither recognize each other for a solid ten minutes because they were convinced each other had died when the nukes fell ;w; 

“Jared snippit lmao”:

I actually just posted this W.I.P. a few days ago but I’m considering adding more maybe next year. Its about my RDO OC, Jared and his backstory leading up to the beginning of the game. Tossed in some ~demonic possession~ stuff to explain RDO’s game mechanics also ;)

“Fallout Fin”:

Oh lordy, I really need to work on this one more since clearly people love it haha, but it was originally my MerMay fic and then,,, then I kept writing and,,, now I have a whole story planned out and,,, haha yeah. It details an orca mermaid merman? Sawyer has an orca tail lol- but it details him meeting with a ~mysterious diver~ and ends up getting captured by the BoS (Brotherhood of S.E.A.L) for research. It’s going to be a slow burn and I have so many plans for it lmao

“Maxson/Prime fic :)”:

I’ve mentioned this fic in a previous post and lowkey writing it stresses me as I don’t usually do a lot with Maxson? Sawyer hates his guts so I haven’t ever,,,, done anything with him but. It’s a fic about Maxson surviving Prydwenburg and being saved by Liberty Prime. I don’t want to give away too many details, but I’m pumping a lot of love into some minor characters that fallout really dropped the ball on and who I feel the fandom forgets about often- and as with all my works ofc has some juicy juicy angst and questioning to one’s own humanity in it. Maybe there’ll be romance between a synth!Prime and Maxson, who knows honestly, maybe it will have it, maybe not, maybe its maybelline

“Lance fic?”:

I’ve been wanting to write a fic from a certain AI’s perspective who’s barely been mentioned on his blog and I really need to explain at some point in depth because I love him dearly but uh,,, yeah so the fic so far is just me struggling how I want to start his story and how I want to write him given,,, bodiless AI,,,, and also where I want the story to go as his is heavily involved with Baron’s when it comes to him escaping the Enclave and he even throws electronic hands with President Eden at one point who I know little to nothing about since I haven’t played fo3 yet but I still think its fucking hilarious

“warhammer au fic”

This is a well beloved au between my friend and I with our two boys (Sawyer and Baron ofc) in the warhammer 40k universe because we all have brainrot and I’ve fallen headfirst into the lore lol whoops. I uh,,, tried to write the beginning of Sawyer’s side of the story with him as a techpriest being transferred to Baron’s legion as a medic or,,, something but then I spent four hours studying the adeptus mechanicus ranks and then realized we still needed to homebrew the legion and don’t even have a name for it and also there’s so many specific names to all the equipment they use in this universe and 

anyways, only got a page done. did research. cried in the shower. bought Horus Rising in hopes that reading it would better prep me for writing about the universe. might fuck around and find an admech book to read also. I want to write the story so fucking bad but I also want to do the lore justice.

To put it simply, the second eldest gets some really expensive looking-ass necklace, shoves it into a lower demon’s hands and tells him to go on and ‘give it to Asmo over there! He’s gonna love it, no need to thank me. You’re gonna earn some brownie points with the Avatar of Lust, good for you small, insignificant demon. Now just do it already!!’ Essentially, he’s too embarrassed to give these gifts himself but this is a regular occurrence that he forces onto others of lower status lol. Asmo comes home every time, flaunting this new gorgeous pair of earrings a fan of his gifted him and Mammon just goes ‘Whoa, that thing must be worth a fortune! Why dontcha hand it over to me, eh? C’mon, older brother privileges’ and the fifth born yells at him to stop being such a greedy asshole. The whole time he’s putting up a font so he doesn’t get found out because it would hurt his ego immensely if the others knew. Rinse and repeat after a couple of days….

The twins are easy because for Beel, all he needs to do is make him his favourite dish as often as possible and take him out to a few restaurants every once in a while to make him happy, which is good enough for Mammon, even if his wallet is screaming at him by the time they’re done. Belphie wouldn’t even notice this, but half of his pillows have either been ordered by Mammon on Akuzon or stolen from somewhere. I would be too afraid to ask where he stole such high quality pillows and blankets but yeah. Actually, those are two of the many things he does for the twins, the others including:

-Doing quite a bit of schoolwork for Belphie when he misses his classes (though he sometimes jokingly asks for compensation) or for Beel who stained his notes after salivating on them in class

-Sewing a few of Belphie’s pillows that he knows his brother used to like a lot before they ripped and had to be discarded of

-Always lets Beel know where his twin is because Belphie has a habit of falling asleep in random places and he doesn’t want Beel to worry about him when that happens so if he happens to spot him, he always tells Beel first so he can go and get him back to their room

-Etc…

Lucifer is last, mainly because Mammon doesn’t really give him a lot of physical gifts. I mean, some of the pricey alcohol the eldest has displayed in his office is from him but for Lucifer, Mammon was mostly there to provide him with emotional support. Especially after the fall happened and they all transformed into their ‘deformed’ demon forms for the first time, unrecognisable from the beautiful angels they once were before. That’s why Lucifer has so much trust in him-it’s because he knows Mammon is the most reliable demon out there and has always been there for him, quietly supporting him from the sidelines because he knew his brother had too much pride to ask for help from others. If I had to guess, Mammon would’ve had to pull Lucifer out of countless nervous breakdowns and self-pitying lines of thought, even more so after Lilith’s death. Honestly, Lucifer would’ve been totally lost and even more closed off than he is in the game at the moment if Mammon’s hadn’t been there for him. Actually, I guarantee you everyone would’ve fallen apart if Mammon was the one to die the Celestial War instead of their sister just because he’s the glue that’s holding them all together.

This post got really long but the point I’m trying to make is that Mammon loves his brothers and none of them really appreciate it enough because they’ve got this painted image of what they thought he should be like in their heads and therefore take all of his actions, as sincere as they may be, with a grain of salt. Obviously, these are just my HCs but I’m sure there are times where Mammon wonders if his siblings care for him at all or if they really dislike him as much as they let on. I know I would start thinking like that if I grew up in an environment where I’m constantly being insulted for the most minor of mistakes, since negative behaviour affects and sticks with you for a long time.
