It’s a very fun comic! The marriage seeker mystery can finally be put to rest 😌 I don’t really think it changes much, that it overrides anything we knew or that I theorized, esp since we already knew about the party-wide romance ban, but the meme potential (and fic potential) IS so strong now that we know Laios was the one most targeted and distrusted of all… And trust was the biggest issue, romance brings nothing but trouble in their minds but the trouble they experienced with the marriage seeker was because she was disingenuous and manipulative and Laios was oblivious, and as time went on the party realized that Marcille was trustworthy and they stopped worrying about that particular scenario happening. It can def bring a new meaning to the "This is my succubus?!! No one can see it no one can know AAAAA" line though lmfaoo. It’s so funny and honestly such a win for aroace Laios

i love that the whole of that final ep is just all these characters setting themselves on the path of healing, that none of them are magically fixed, but instead are all committing to creating a world where not only they can heal, but where they can stop others from hurting. because it was never about a single person’s journey, it was about how a system managed to hurt and repress and ignore everyone in it, and how it’s only them wanting and fighting for better, for themselves and for the people they care about, that has the ability to destroy that system, and set in place a community that includes everyone. it’s only after the sun and moon have crossed each others passed, once the world has been shrouded in black, that clear blue skies can be seen again.

I got to look at the room in the dormitory and now I'm torn between taking it and running, or maybe taking a bit more time to find something... less really cramped and where the washing machine doesn't smell sour, somehow

#and i have to decide today help #like yeah my flatmates are awful and I hate them and am in a bad mood whenever they're home #but they're usually gone on the weekends so at least I'm alone then #there's Something weird about the dormitory I looked at but I can't put my finger on it. apart from the awful smell in the laundry room #but I mean I could take my laundry to a laundromat if I really didn't want to use that washing machine I guess #there's shared kitchens there too but oh well i've done that before #but by god am I looking forward to living alone after university #all I want is a flat with enough space for a large bed or a pull-out couch for when friends visit #and ideally a balcony and cats allowed #mine #jess' flatmate rants #am I being too picky? all student rooms are very small and shared kitchens and bathrooms are normal #what really threw me off was the washing machine ngl #aaah maybe that's another thing: my old dorm was bigger so more anonymous #this one has a kitchen for 8-10 people #i'm not very social; I don't want to be friends with the people in my dorm; I want to be alone and left alone when I'm at home #anyway. guess I have that to consider for the next hour or so #aah Vse Kar Vem came up and I'm crying again; wonderful #also you know those days when anyone talking in the same room as you makes you want to murder them? i'm on like week two or three of that #with no stop and idk why and what's wrong; send help #ngl maybe my problem is less with the dorm itself and more that I literally can't imagine a good future for myself right now #where I get to not live either in my childhood bedroom forever or only ever with flatmates which. I should probably babble abt me n my friends lethal company world concept hcs so silly...

#doing this before i bake cake #but like basically early space travel allowed humans to expand to new frontiers #but as was the 1900s things were not to good earth was a planet made to manufacture and produce while other planets would take in imports #earth was pretty polluted and thus evacuated #meaning that humanity had converted to a lively world of colour to orbiting ships #depending on your class status you could transfer from ship colonies or even moon colonies but it was unlikely unless you got rich quick #people had to work day in day out to provide fuel and resources for moon colonies #the higher ups on colonies were usually fucked over by hostile alien species #or you had to join the company because you cant make enough to eat in either #depending on what moon the ship orbits you call it your mothermoon #and my normal lethal ocs like benji are from ship colonies that had specific characteristics (thats why hes so horribly adjusted to aliens)#as compared to Big Joke who before was from a moon colony and had to work as a sort of candidate of greater good

I gotta be honest. If I look at a character list on Wikipedia and get five characters down without seeing a single woman, it's probably not for me.

#I have no patience for 'there is exactly one woman in the main/supporting cast' anymore #unless the writing is INCREDIBLE and the themes are explored with a type of depth and nuance I can't get anywhere else (like shiki)#(daily media plug for shiki)#then I just. probably will not vibe with it. if there are no women. (also shiki DOES have interesting female characters in it)#and this isn't to say that like. things involving men or talking about men or that have a male protagonist are Not Worth #My Time that is NOT what I'm saying at all. I just want like. several women. who show up and affect the story. like LITERALLY that is all I #am asking for. I feel like that's just. the bare minimum. but alas.#mel screams about fictional ladies again #there are plenty of things that are male-character-focused that I enjoy and even genuinely think are good! but I do want people to #ask themselves why they aren't willing to go to bat for media that DOES have more women in the cast than men.#(I mean. the answer is misogyny. but I want people to be. aware of that. and evaluate accordingly)#(evaluate meaning 'acknowledge I have some biases I need to continue deconstructing' not 'drop interest in everything tumblr #user musical-chick-13 personally doesn't like')#I feel like so many times we get trapped in this space between overcorrection via 'don't like ANYTHING that's pRoBLeMaTiC in ANY way'#and people taking the 'it's fiction it's not that deep' to the conclusion of 'because I cannot actually hurt fictional characters because #they're not real that means I am incapable of hurting irl people when they talk about those characters'#like there is. nuance here. there is a middle ground. and most people have NO interest in finding it lmao #and like...if you carry your biases from irl (which EVERYONE HAS. INCLUDING ME. COURTESY OF LIVING IN A PREJUDICED SOCIETY.) into a #direct and one-to-one evaluation of stories or characters that allow you to exercise those biased ideas. then that reinforces those biases #like. no hating...for example every anime lady isn't the same as structural misogyny like the pay gap or anti-women violence #but if you automatically associate the idea of 'female character' with 'lesser-than' it strengthens the already-present societal idea that #women are not as important or dynamic or worthy of support and attention as their male peers. if you are willing to see every (white)#fictional man as having interiority and depth but struggle to see that in any fictional woman then it adds to the things society is already #telling us about women. it creates an association of 'women' with 'inferiority' and uh. that's what misogyny is.#it is not the same as misogynistic crimes against irl women but it IS a reflection of the rhetoric and societal impulses that lead to them #and even if it's a reflection and not the actual thing. it's still important to break down and examine and reevaluate because #if we don't examine our OWN biases. then even if we tear down the greater oppressive structure we'll just end up building it back up again #no your thousands of words of m/m fanfiction or liking late 2000s shonen anime isn't responsible for misogyny nor are these things #inherently misogynistic. I just want like. some acknowledgement that something being 'for fun' doesn't automatically mean that bias/#prejudice is nowhere to be found
