okay! so the pokemas legendary event: father or foe. I have things to say so I will say them. and if you don’t want spoilers, uhmmm don’t read this! okay thanks okay.

first of all, i like how ghetsis just. shows up. like he’s just there. that’s great, A+ Second of all, I know the point of that battle between N, Silver, Brendan and Norman was to showcase how strong Brendan and Norman’s father-son bond was. but it’s so fucking funny to me that they’re fighting against two legendary pokemon. and they’ve got a fucking slaking and a fucking uhh sceptile like. Ho-oh is fucking fire/flying, but Norman and Brendan won??? but whatever, moving on.

glad that they put silver in this. like even with the plot point later on with giovanni, i just like that silver is here. i like silver. i like his way of speaking. because in a world of pokemon protagonists that are naive and idealistic, silver’s realism and straightforwardness is very needed. so thanks silver, for being that bro.

anyway, I love N’s answer to Ghetsis’ proposition for them to be father-son again. He says he just needs time to think. That shows such maturity. And the fact that they put that alongside Nate’s very black and white (lol) way of thinking, is good. Nate is like “Ghetsis did some fucked up shit. get him outta here” but N has history with Ghetsis and is hesitant.

and y’know what, Nate is right honestly, because Ghetsis did some fucked up shit!! I know a lot of people have not played gen 5 but Ghetsis is a BITCH!!! He’s manipulative and abusive, he said some fucked up shit to N, he tried to fuck over unova TWICE, he’s not a good dude. And it’s interesting! bc in bw2, y’know, former team plasma members are trying to make up for their crimes from the first game. and they point out that all they can do is apologize and do better, like they can try and make up for what they did and do what they can to make things right. and that’s what some of them are doing. and they acknowledge that this doesn’t like erase people’s pain or make them entitled to forgiveness.

but on the other side of that, you have ghetsis, who is not at all interested in that shit. he doesn’t think he’s done anything wrong, he doesn’t want to change, fuck unova, fuck everything and everyone! So yeah! Nate is like FUCK GHETSIS and honestly, everyone should be like that but they weren’t there in unova so they get a pass.

and N is just hesitant. Because he sees that father-son bond and he wants that. he wants that connection. and think about how that resonates with so many people playing this game. like it fucking resonated with me! you want a bond with a family member that’s hurt you, and they come to you to try and make amends... and say it’s idealistic or naive or stupid, but there’s hope that it could work out this time.

ghetsis has manipulated and abused N in the past, and N knows this most of all, but he’s willing to move forward with their relationship if Ghetsis has truly changed. DAMN! that hits me hard. too many times we try and give people a second chance when they say they’ve changed, but it turns out they fucking haven’t and they hurt us all over again.

But I like that N takes the time to decide. He talks to Alder and gets his opinion, and I like that Alder is just honest as fuck about it. And N takes that into consideration, but still makes the choice himself, just like Silver advised him to. This is a choice he made after weighing his options and the outcomes.

And honestly, I was like... Ghetsis could go either way. They could keep him evil and have this be him trying to manipulate N again, OR they could pull a lusamine and have the story and the characters just forget about the abuse that he put N through and the chaos he put unova through. And I’m so happy to see that they kept him evil because HE IS evil and! He’s as fucking heartless as ever, being honest about how everyone is a tool to him.

That’s refreshing as fuck to me. After lusamine, i had no fucking hope for this game but DAMN let’s go, okay, Ghetsis staying evil? teaming up with giovanni? nice nice nice. love it.

But also, hold on, because Silver is a hero in this event. I loved hearing what he had to say, but this line that he had is so fucking important.

IM STILL IN SHOCK THAT THEY ACTUALLY SAID THIS LIKE??? idk i just wasn’t expecting it at all, and im SO GLAD they brought it up. Silver? Getting frustrated with Nate that he’s not trying to see things from N’s point of view? Nice. Very Nice. This is why I’m glad Silver’s here, because what other character would have the guts to say this? We need that blunt honesty a lot of the time. We need that straightforwardness to put some harsh truths out there.

I like that Nate stops and considers that now, they he apologizes and is like “I was thinking more about unova than about your feelings, N” and he APOLOGIZES!! LET’S GO!

There’s some good nuggets in this event, it’s so fucking GOOD.

It keeps getting better because with Alder reassuring N and offering advice, he shows that he’s more of a fucking.. father figure than Ghetsis will EVER be but he also just says that N’s grown and he’s got a good heart and N is so shocked...! He is still 100% suffering from what Ghetsis said/did to him before! because that trauma is still there! And he needs to be surrounded by people who really and truly care about him to support him now.

Okay but moving on, the Ghetsis and Giovanni team up was cool. I like how they kept summoning team break members out of nowhere?? fantastic. and of course giovanni was gonna backstab him. fucking. ghetsis you idiot, but anyway! N seeing that ghetsis is about to get his whole ass kicked and STILL stepping up to help him out?

Mm i have some mixed feelings about it, but N CAN talk to pokemon and he didn’t want anything to happen to Kyurem. And I’m glad that they put that in there and remembered that about N’s character because otherwise i’d be like “why would he help him, Ghetsis has revealed his true colors for like the third time there’s no reason to” but it also ties back into N just feeling sorry for this mother fucker and also just wanting a father figure.

but! after the battle, they leave. and Silver just glares at Giovanni and tells him to fuck off... this poor boy, but! we also have this comparison between silver KNOWING that his father will never change and that he’s not interested in changing, and now N coming to that conclusion with ghetsis. those two are not going to change. they don’t fucking care. they’re terrible people. and it’s a hard pill to swallow but silver’s already swallowed it. and now he’s helping N to get through what he’s already gone through.

so N just saved ghetsis’ ass and now they’re outside. And N says that he knows Ghetsis hasn’t changed, and if he causes trouble N will stop him. And Nate tells Ghetsis he hates him LOL and then is like why can’t you just fucking be a better person to N like for real.

and Ghetsis continues to be a sack of shit. and Nate gets upset and says something really touching, that N just wants a normal relationship with the man he calls his father. and Nate is real sensitive to this stuff, he wears his heart on his sleeve, y’know. but a lot of male pokemon protagonists are like that (gold, brendan i think?) but it’s just touching to have Nate be really invested. to have Nate and Silver both wanting to help N, and Nate is the more sensitive and idealistic of the two and Silver just adds that touch of realism. y’know, black and white?

but N is a bit of both, now. That’s what he gained on his journey, this understanding that problems aren’t so simple and that complexity is a part of life and that sometimes there isn’t a clear right answer. and sometimes things don’t go the way that you want, no matter how much you hope or wish for things to change.

and at the end... N understands that. He understands that while Ghetsis is a piece of shit and will ALWAYS be a piece of shit, he has people and pokemon around him and that’s all he needs. he doesn’t need a father. he’s just fine without one. Silver agrees, everyone fucking agrees. and it’s fucking touching. N’s got people in his life that care about him genuinely and that’s all he needs.

and that’s a real good message because first of all, Alder is right there and found family is abound, but also, it’s not pushing this fucking narrative that you should always, always forgive your family or the people who hurt you. sometimes, your family is shit! and you cut them out of your life for your own well being! many, many people have to do that. and instead of ignoring that every family isn’t the same and that people have shitty relationships with their families, this event is like “hey, everyone’s upbringing is different” and “if people who’ve hurt you aren’t going to sincerely apologize and make the effort to change, they aren’t worth your time” and “fuck ghetsis”

like those are good messages! and im mad because WHERE WAS THIS with the lusamine event??? lusamine abused both lily and gladion, but she’s okay?? she fucking almost drove the alola region into chaos but she’s forgiven?? no. i will never be about that. lily and gladion are both better off without her because i didn’t see an apology in sumo or in pokemas, the bitch just showed up and was like “okay!! we’re family!!” and even with the sumo endgame thing of lily taking lusamine to kanto to give her treatment, i need to SEE an apology and a genuine want to change

and you know what even if there is an apology? lily and gladion aren’t obligated to forgive her. it’s their choice, sure, but i think it was a choice forced onto them instead of it being something that they, as characters, seriously consider. and?? lusamine should be in jail. so.

like there’s no obligation for these kids to forgive their abusive parents. none at all. and N’s speech to ghetsis saying “i don’t think a true father-son relationship can happen between us so easily, but if you’ve had a true change of heart, show me through battle!” is so important because he wants to see for himself if there’s been a real change. N will decide AFTER the battle and after seeing ghetsis’ motivations if they can move forward.

and where was this with lily and gladion?? what did they ask or talk about with lusamine so that they know she’s being sincere?? and y’know what, where is the distrust?? especially for lily, because lusamine did some real fucked up shit!! it’s just not handled as well, and it could’ve been a great example of “kids need to get away from their abusive parents even if they promise change” because N made a choice and was hesitant but we didn’t get to see that development with gladion and lily. i know it’s pokemon, but i definitely think there’s a way they could’ve written them,, cutting lusamine out of their lives and it being like “okay, this is the best for both of us” because lusamine was a shit mother and also gladion and lily have found family in the selene, elio, hau and professor kukui and professor brunet SO.

but this event was pretty good and there were some very good moments in here. I’m glad ghetsis will stay evil and i’m glad they put silver in there as well, thanks. BUT WHERE WAS HILBERT????? WHHHHYYYYYY!!!!!

Idk if it’s just destined for Black girls to have trauma why their mother and father (or father figures) but I’m literally so tired literally and configertively So I have my band account (cause I’m on disability) and my mom has access to it and so like she would text me and be like “I moved money to pay for ____” and like I don’t mind helping hell I give a stranger 100 dollars if they asked for it but my mother doesn’t ask me first just say she did it but promises to pay it back when xyz money gets here and like I use to believe it but now I’m just don’t believe it anymore. I just feel really taken advantage of and like she is using me for my money and she sometimes takes money to go shopping for her and I’m just so frustrated like taken it for necessities is one thing but to take it to shop is another, not to mention I don’t feel safe or comfortable with her having access to my account cause a few times when I order food for myself she would immediately call me and be like did you know you spent this on food and it almost feels like I can’t use my own money or like he’s spying on me....and my birthday is coming up and she’s steadily taking money out to the point where I probably can’t even buy myself what I wanted to.

Anyway onto ACTUAL IDEA STUFF HOORAY

So when Dutch and Hosea decided to adopt, they agreed they wanted to take in kids who needed good homes the most, so they were specifically looking for older kids who would probably age out of the system and wind up on the streets

They met Arthur who was a clearly depressed and gender non conforming thirteen year old who hated everyone and everything and wasn’t getting the Love he Deserved, and Dutch was like “I want THAT ONE, with the SAD EYES”

Arthur tried to push them away at first, cuz he absolutely didn’t trust anyone, and some part of him believed they’d just give him right back up for adoption if he disappointed them in any way. But he eventually learned that they were good guys who really just wanted to help him, and they weren’t gonna abandon him if he wasn’t the perfect kid they always wanted

(he probably told them about this fear eventually and Hosea just snorted and was like “if we wanted a perfect kid we woulda got a cabbage patch doll. something that wouldn’t scream or make a mess” and Dutch was like “yeah! or like a 27 year old with a job and their own house and kids of their own. pre-made grandkids” and Hosea was like “or a cat” and Arthur was like “...okay”)

Anyway it took a loooong time but Arthur eventually trusted them enough to come out to them as trans, without really knowing the proper words for everything, just knowing that He Is A Boy And That’s That. As much as Hosea is the one the lads go to to talk about stuff and get comfort and Wise Dad Advice, he probably told Dutch first bc he was more uncertain how he’d respond and he wanted to get it over with in the worst way possible.... like, if they were gonna react badly, heap all the bullshit on in one fell swoop

I imagine he did it off the cuff too, in response to something Dutch said, like Dutch was like “u get back here right now young lady” and Arthur was like “first of all I’m not a lady, I’m a BOY, and second of all FUCK you, I do what I WANT” and Dutch was like “groovy. you’re grounded.” Arthur was like (offended) “don’t say groovy... don’t try to be hip” and Dutch was like “no it’s totally tubular that ur a boy. It’s absolutely funky. You’re fucking grounded though”

Then he went and told Hosea like “congrats! it’s a boy” and they helped him transition and they didn’t tolerate a single person misgendering him the whole time. Like before he’s even begun transitioning, they’re literally at the doctors office to discuss it w/ their doc for the first time, and a nurse is like “ms. morgan?” And Dutch is like “INCORRECT” and the doctor is like “what seems to be the problem (deadname)?” and Dutch is like “FOOL! THIS CHILD WAS LABELED INACCURATELY, WE REQUIRE A GENDER RETRACTION” and Hosea’s like “please stop yelling”

Anyway probably about a year later they got John when he was ten and Arthur was fifteen. Arthur was a little bit jealous like, wow, am I not enough kid for u, but Dutch and Hosea always planned on getting at least two bc they wanted them to have siblings, and they know John came from a pretty abusive situation, so Arthur can’t be too mad at him. At least until he met John and realized what a fucking brat he is

Since John was younger and way more desperate for affection, he immediately loved Dutch and Hosea just bc they were nice to him, he was ready to call them his dads within the month but he was nervous that it was too soon and they’d be weirded out. But I imagine he got triggered by something and had a meltdown and they got to see just a glimpse of what he’d been through, and Dutch and Hosea were falling over themselves trying to comfort him and tell him they love him and now I’m making myself cry :’^(

Anyway... from that point on John was like “these are the only dads I’ve ever had and I would kill a man for them.” He gets in trouble quite a bit bc he’s Naughty, but Dutch and Hosea always make sure to punish him fairly and never yell or be physically intimidating with him or permanently take away his stuff, like they make him do chores to earn back the right to use the xbox or something. And they always explain to him exactly what he did wrong and why he’s being punished and talk to him about how he can make it better or what he can do next time, or if there’s a root problem, like he’s acting out bc he’s overwhelmed with school work or smthn, how they can help him. Especially after he gets diagnosed with ADHD

And of course they do all this with Arthur too, but they make a special concerted effort with John bc he’s The Baby :^) and Dutch somehow maintains an attitude of “idk what ur talking about, John has never done anything wrong ever in his life” every time he gets in trouble meanwhile Hosea is like “what do you MEAN, he’s a GREMLIN” fjfjfhhf

Arthur was probably diagnosed with depression and anxiety at some point... it was probably a long process to get him to even admit he had a problem bc he didnt wanna bother anyone... Arthur also probably came from an abusive situation from the way canon Arthur talks about his dad, but Arthur is much more the type to be like “i’m gonna keep all my feelings inside, and then one day, i’ll die” whereas John is like “i will SCREAM if i get a papercut”

But Dutch Loves being Dad. Every time they call Dutch Dad he grows three times stronger and 10 years are added to his lifespan. Dutch is an Alpha Parent, he 100% goes to every parent teacher conference and bake sale, he’d go to every game and concert too if either of his kids had a single athletic or musical bone in their dumb little bodies. I guess the school probably hosts art galleries sometimes to display art the kids make, Arthur always has a drawing in one of those, and Dutch will absolutely go just to brag about his cool son.

Dutch is the Fun Energetic Dad who embarrasses the boys in front of their friends but can always be talked into taking them out to get ice cream. Hosea is the more quietly anxious dad, he makes sure they do their homework and keep their rooms clean and shit, and he's the one the kids always go to talk to when they’re having problems... like Arthur will rant for an hour and a half about high school drama and Hosea will patiently listen to all of it and when he's done he’ll offer to kick the other kids’ asses for him, and Arthur’s like lmao but Hosea Means It.

Hosea is also the one the kids go to for help on their homework because Hosea and Dutch have five brain cells between them, and four of them belong to Hosea. BIOGRAPHY.

father was an underground boxer who used to take moonkyu with him to each one of his fights

moon hated it bc he hated watching his dad get hurt

but he also hated it because his dad used to drink himself numb and take his pain out on his mother, who was trying to help mend his father’s wounds

so he decided to take her place, watching carefully to learn how to patch his father up whenever it was needed.

Imagine I'm your parent and I spend your whole childhood frequently talking about how I hate Camry drivers. They are slow as fuck and seem to always be in the wrong lane or turn the wrong way before they go where they intended. As you grow up, you'll see a few normal Camry drivers but you'll usually not care to notice or you'll quickly forget, but the ones that are shitty will really stand out. Your brain will get all excited "see, Dad was right. Stupid Camry drivers holding us back as a society. Fuck em."

You have to be willing to unlearn it and change yourself, and admit you were wrong in the past. Not easy for everyone. It took years and years for me to even realize my opinions were racist to begin with. I started thinking with my own head. Mind you, I'm almost 30 years old.

Not your case, but seeing how quick antis are to wish death upon a teen boy who had a racist dad, to condemn him, giving him zero chances, is also harmful and very mean behavior. It hurts my feelings as well, who was in a similar situation. So obviously I wished for better writing for Billy, a better redemption. He could have changed just like I and many others have. is it horrible that billy never got a chance to say sorry? that he never got another opportunity to become a better person? yes! 100%! but that still means he never changed. for all we know, billy never felt sorry.

if billy ever gets a redemption/revival in which he realizes his actions were wrong and apologizes, and maybe even gets forgiveness from lucas, then i can and will forgive him as a character as well. until that day, i'll still stand by my original opinion about him.

i do not blame people who had the misfortune of growing up in such a bad environment. but if they stay in their ways, and never change, there is no alternative but to say they are the issue.

A/N: This was a lot longer than I thought it would be, but I really like the way it turned out.

You stared at the ground, not daring to look at the people standing in front of you. Batman had his hand on your shoulder, and you prayed that he was only telling them good things. You tried tuning out the conversation, the idea of living somewhere new giving you more anxiety than you thought.

Just last year, you were living with your father at his base of operations, you hadn’t heard from your mother in six months at the time. When people looked at you they figured you were normal, or as normal as you can get in Gotham at least, but what they didn’t know is that your father was the Joker, and you mother was Harley Quinn. Your mother was able to run away from the abuse of your father, but she wasn’t able to take you along. Or she didn’t even try. You still don’t know.

Either way, one year after your mother had left, you were able to find your escape, right before one of your father’s terror attempts. He kept most of his plans from you, but he allowed you the knowledge of the date and the location, hoping that you would join him on his journey. This was the first time that you were left by yourself, without any of his goons watching you, without your mother insisting you stay. And, this time you had more resources. You had some money and a backpack that you filled with necessities. Things like a change of clothes and the only stuffed animal you ever owned.

The stuffed animal that you held close to your chest as you cried yourself to sleep after your father’s worst nights. If he was successful it meant he killed people, and if he was unsuccessful it meant he came back to take his anger out on you or your mother. Sometimes both.

Standing here with that very backpack in front of these people that Batman told you would be your friends, you thought back to your first night of freedom, six months ago. That was the first time you met Batman too. Or at least truly met him. That was the night that the Joker attempted to bomb a diner. Your favorite diner. You didn’t know if he knew it was your favorite, but after you escaped the base, you ran there. You couldn’t let your father see you, but you knew you had to stop it. You knew you had to get Batman’s attention, so you did it the only way you knew how.

Putting yourself in the line of danger wasn’t something a normal person would do in an attempt to stop even more danger. Most people would call the police, but you couldn’t interact with the Gotham police force. They had a target on your head to match your father’s. So you threw yourself into the middle of a bar fight. More like an escalated bar fight. It started in the bar, but once the patrons were thrown out, it continued in the alley next to it. So you stood there, a 14 year old girl, next to this bar fight and you waited. Eventually Batman came. He arrested the people who took part in the fight, and then he turned to you.

“Are you oka- I know you from somewhere,” Batman had said, beginning to ask of your well being before recognizing your face. “Tonight at 11:00 my father plans to bomb the diner on the corner of 10th and B. I don’t know the details, but he’s expecting me to show up to help him. Obviously, I’m not willing to help, but if you could stop him that would be preferable. At least make sure no civilians get hurt,” you told him flat out. There was no use lying to Batman anyways, because the chances that he was going to arrest you as well were almost 100%.

“Ah, that’s why you seemed so familiar. You’re the Joker’s daughter. Why are you telling me this anyways, is it a trap?”

“I hate my father, please do not associate me with him. I’m telling you because I don’t want innocent people hurt. I’m telling you because if you stop his plans, I won’t be there for him to take his anger out on anymore. If you don’t believe me, that’s fine, but the blood of innocent people won’t be on my hands anymore, it’ll be on yours.” You knew you had a way with words, that you could convince him to go. And in convincing him, you were saving lives, but you were also escaping. Escaping from the life that you hated so much. Escaping after 14 years of hell.

“What’s your name?”

“I don’t like going by my real name, but when mother allowed me to go to school, they enrolled me as (Y/N),” you told him truthfully. “(Y/N) (Y/L/N). That is my preferred name.”

“Well, (Y/N) (Y/L/N), thank you for the tip,” he said, before heading off in the direction of the diner. The bomb never went off.

After that encounter, you knew that Batman was looking for you. He claimed he wanted to help you, but you could only believe that he was planning to imprison you alongside your father. Once you finally met him though, you found out that you were wrong. He did want to help you. He wanted to be able to put your training from your parents to good use, and you did too. So one week after your second meeting with Batman, you found yourself standing in front of a group of young heroes. Batman told you that they were going to be there for you, and that they would help you. And you were to help them. He wasn’t hiding your past from anyone, and if you were honest, you didn’t want him to. These people had the right to know that you were raised by a crazy clown and if they didn’t trust you because of it, well, that would be fine, it’s not like you wanted to work with the team anyways. You finally brought yourself back to the conversation Batman was having with the team.

“(Y/N) is as much a part of the team as the rest of you, and I expect her to be treated as such,” he told them, with a pointed look to each of them.

The one with the “S” on his shirt stepped forward angrily. “So you just expect us to trust the daughter of a super villain? You’re insane.”

Though most of the eyes in the room were trained on Superboy, you noticed two pairs travel to the girl called Artemis, who looked down, almost ashamed. She was clearly hiding something from the team. You looked to the boy, your eyes sad. You knew you would never be trusted here, but you wished that you could. You looked back to Batman and simply said, “I told you they wouldn’t want me here,” your voice unwavering.

He rested his hand on your shoulder again before speaking, “And I told you they wouldn’t have a choice. Superboy, you are not to speak of (Y/N) like that again. She is part of your team now. I understand that you may not trust her, but I do. In the time that I have been in contact with her, she has been a wonderful help to me and to my work, and now she is going to be of help to your team. I apologize if you don’t like it, but you don’t have a say.” The entirety of the team aside from Robin looked at him in shock. He had never spoken so fondly of anyone, not even Robin, but then again, the team wasn’t questioning Robin’s credibility or trustworthiness.

After staring Superboy down, he left through the zeta tube behind him. Robin, the only one that you had met prior to this encounter stepped forward to offer you a tour around the mountain, and to show you your room, but was interrupted.

“When was the last time you saw him?” one of the boys asked. Aqualad. You tilted your head in confusion, unsure as to who they were referring to. “Your father.”

“I haven’t seen the Joker in over 6 months,” you answered honestly, making sure to emphasize the fact that you did not perceive him as your father.

“And when was the last time you spoke to him?” Superboy asked accusingly.

“It’s been over 6 months,” you simply responded.

“What about your mother?” Artemis asked. Though she didn’t sound accusing, she sounded concerned.

“I believe it’s been about a year and a half.”

“Your mom left you with your crazy father? Why would she do that?” was the next question, which came from Kid Flash.

“My mother wasn’t exactly sane either,” you responded, getting a simple ‘oh’ of realization from the redhead. Robin sent him a glare before finally offering the tour.

Now, you stood in the main room of the cave, watching Kaldur and Robin spar. It had been a month since you joined the team, and yet the only two on the team that seemed to trust you were Artemis and Robin. Perhaps it was because you helped them when the cave was taken over, or maybe it was because the three of you were the only ones on the team who were aware of Artemis’s true family. Whatever it was, the rest of the team wasn’t having it. They wouldn’t practice with you, they wouldn’t speak to you. It was as if you didn’t exist in their eyes, their mistrust often clouding their better judgment.

As you stood there listening to Wally complain about Captain Marvel’s food consumption the computer spoke up, “Recognized, Batman 02.”

“Computer, national news,” Batman commanded.

As the screen pulled up the news and you saw the giant plants attacking the city, you couldn’t help but mutter under your breath, “Pamela.” Robin recognized the name and placed his hand on the small of your back in an attempt to comfort you, confirming your suspicions with a small nod.

“Should we get out there?” he asked.

“No,” Batman responded, “The League will soon have the situation under control, that’s not why I’m here. According to your intel, Sportsmaster supplied Cadmus Blockbuster Formula to Kobra.”

“Who combined it with Bane’s venom to create Kobra Venom,” Wally continued.

“Which The Brain used to create his animal army.”

“And upgrade Wolf.”

“The Brain also used inhibitor collars, like the ones at Belle Reve Penitentiary.”

“Batman, is it possible that plant thing is on Kobra Venom too?”

“I had Green Lantern run a spot analysis, the vine cellulose does contain trace amounts of a Kobra Venom variant,” Batman confirmed.

“These cannot be coincidences,” Kaldur stated.

You continued, “Unrelated criminals are cooperating with one another worldwide.” As you spoke, Robin removed his hand from your back and began to type.

“Exactly,” Batman confirmed, yet again. “It’s now clear our enemies have formed some kind of, secret society of super villains. The attack on Metropolis is only the beginning.”

“You got that right,” Robin said, pulling up more images on the computer. “Plant creatures have sprouted in Gotham City, Paris, Star City, Taipei-” and then the computers cut off.

Wally got upset before Robin told him that whoever it was was taking over all of the satellites, and the team waited to see what was to happen on the screen.

The Joker’s face appeared on the screen and you began to feel nauseous. You felt the team’s eyes on the back of your head, and Robin returned his hand to your back, in another attempt to comfort you. You watched the screen with wide eyes, knowing that the majority of your team was questioning your allegiances. You shuddered when you heard your father’s high pitched laugh. Robin once again let go of you and began typing again, this time to obtain the identities of the villains that appeared on-screen. “Count Vertigo, The Joker, Poison Ivy, Ultra Humanite, Atomic Skull, Black Adam, Wotan, seven heavy hitters. Probably behind everything and everyone we’ve faced.”

As they began to discuss the secret society, you began to think of way that the ‘Injustice League’ could be stopped. When Batman said he had a different job for your team you were unsure of whether you should be excited that he trusted you or wary due to the people you’d be facing. As Robin pulled up a holomap and Zatara placed the location of the villains, your mind began to reel.

“Coordinates locked in,” Robin confirmed, “The Louisiana Bayou.”

“And what will she do?” Kaldur asked. You knew the question was coming the second you saw the Joker’s face on the screen, yet you cringed at the sound of it anyways.

“Come with us, obviously,” Robin informed the leader, “She’s just as much a part of this team as you are.” You let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding and looked at Robin.

“She’s too close to this case!” Superboy shouted, causing you to flinch. The first fourteen years of your life trained you that when yelling started, violence followed, so the feeling of Robin’s hand returning to the small of your back became a comfort, reminding you where you were and that you were safe, especially in this situation.

“Hardly!” Artemis yelled right back, “Just because you don’t trust her doesn’t make her any less a part of this team. Her knowledge of the Joker is precisely what we need to slip past his defenses unnoticed.”

Wally looked at Artemis and then at you and Robin before sighing, “They’re right. We need her.” You gave him a small smile to show your thanks before Kaldur and Superboy conceded, heading to change and to the bioship.

M’gann began to talk about feeling sick, and then the bioship lost control and landed in the murky waters of the bayou. As water flooded the ship, you began to panic. You never were the strongest swimmer. When Robin looked at you, he noticed your panic as well, and made sure you got out safely, pulling you with him as he swam to the surface. When you all reached the top, you were caught by Count Vertigo. He used his powers to subdue the team, and Superboy had a run-in with Black Adam. Kaldur commanded Robin and Miss Martian to disappear, in order to fulfil the mission.

I’m going with them, you thought to the rest of the team, before disappearing into the shadows with Robin, They don’t even know I’m part of the team yet.

You ran alongside Robin towards the building. M’gann told us that she lost contact with the rest of the team, but Robin made sure she knew we had to finish the job first.

A voice from behind you spoke up, “Well, hello,” and then the three of you were wrapped with giant plants as well. The other two began to struggle, but you knew Pamela too well. You simply held still and stared her down. “Hey Aunt Pam!” you exclaimed, causing shock to appear in not only her’s but also Ultra Humanite’s eyes. In her shocked state, she dropped the three of you and you commanded them to run over your brain link. Humanite followed Miss Martian while Poison Ivy turned away from you to watch Robin run away.

“Sorry Boy Wonder, I’m putting an end to your little reconnaissance mission.”

You quickly climbed a tree, and followed in Robin’s direction, hoping the three of you would meet up eventually. He stopped, and you landed on the ground directly beside him when you heard M’gann’s voice in your head again. Robin, she’s made contact. Of course she still decided to ignore your existence, but at least she kept you on the link this time.

Artemis? Robin asked.

No, you thought, and Miss M confirmed soon after, the bioship flying overhead and stopping the villains that held the rest of your team.

As the battle raged on below, you, Robin, and Miss M made your way to the top of the building, and you helped him place explosives around the entirety of the plant sticking out of the roof. After the plants exploded, the Joker and Atomic Skull came out of the building.

You followed Robin down the building, and fought by his side the whole time. When the Joker came out of the forest to see not only the Boy Wonder, but also his daughter, he acted unfazed though the surprise was clear in his eyes. You knew he thought you planned to help him, so when he began to charge at Robin with his knives and you jumped between them his eyes went wide and he stopped.

“My little Jester, how wonderful it is to see you again,” he said before letting out a crazed laugh. “What’s the matter? Didn’t you miss your daddy?”

“You. Are. Not. My. Father,” you told him through grit teeth.

“Oh, c’mon my child. Come fight alongside me, and then we can head home. I know how much you probably miss home.”

“No way in hell am I going with you.”

“But my little Jester…” He continued to ramble which kept him distracted. Rob, I’ve got this covered. Go help the rest of the team.

(Y/N), I’m not going to leave you with him in that state. The argument got cut off before you could really discuss because the Justice League began to descend from the sky.

As the majority of the Injustice League began to surrender, the Joker started to ramble again. Before you knew it he was waggling his fingers and spores on the plants began to burst.

“Joker Venom spores! Don’t breathe,” you commanded, flipping over your father’s head, landing, and swiftly kicking him in the side of the head, causing him to fall unconscious. “And yeah, I learned that from mom,” you mentioned to his unconscious body.

Before the venom could spread, Dr. Fate began to pull it out of the air. The Justice League began to arrest the villains as the team waited and hoped that Dr. Fate would free Kaldur. Finally, Kaldur was free, and the team began to celebrate, but you stayed seated on the ground beneath you. The team still did not trust you, and that was fine, in the end, you did as Batman said you would. You helped them.

Robin came and sat down next to you, placing an arm around your shoulder this time. You leaned into him as he spoke. “Thank you, (Y/N). We wouldn’t have been able to do it today without you.”

Next Artemis came over and thanked you, along with Wally and M’gann. Finally, Kaldur and Conner came up.

“I believe I owe you an apology,” Kaldur stated.

“We both do,” Conner continued. “We’re sorry we let your family make us think you were going to betray us. I mean, the whole blood is thicker than water thing kinda freaked us out a bit I guess.”

You looked at him quizzically for a moment. “But, blood is thicker than water…” you stated. The whole team turned to you wide eyed. “No, no, I mean the full quote. ‘The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb’? The blood shed in battle bonds soldiers as friends more than genetics ever will?”

“Huh,” Rob began, “I guess I’ve had the saying wrong my whole life.”

“It appears we all did,” Kaldur added as the team laughed, and for once you felt welcome. For once you felt at home.

Marauders Era Headcannons

Ok so no one asked but these are mine. It’s really long, so sorry about that. A lot are based on inspo I’ve seen on Tumblr, tweaked to my liking, which is probably wrong but I just have all these feelings that I’ve gotta get out so here goes. Peter

 Shortest marauder. like hella short. 

He wasn’t visibly muscled bc he liked food so damn much, but he wasn’t a creampuff either

preferred coffee over tea, and was the person who introduced coffee to Marlene

Funniest marauder. Could spin a tale/tell jokes like no one’s business. 

Towhead, tanned up nicely, brown eyes

was actually very particular about how his hair was combed/parted, but didn’t fuss about it openly *cough cough Sirius*

just didn’t get the hype behind Quidditch. sure, he liked it, but he couldn’t imagine letting a sport take over your life like James always did and even Sirius did during season

was actually hella perceptive and good at figuring things out about other people

like for real I think he was the first one to notice a lot; Remus’ condition, Sirius’ abusive home situation, when Lily’s feelings for James started to change, how James himself started to change

Was also the swiftest/sneakiest of all the marauders (rat!) and collected all of their intel

didn’t much care about school, and wanted to open a cafe in Diagon Alley after school

Had something of a talent for Divinations. Like, wasn’t a seer or anything, but he understood the theory and appreciated the art

fell in love with Marlene McKinnon in their 6th year, and her death in the first wizarding war (Mentioned in Lily’s letter to Sirius) is what pushed him over the edge and away from the Order. he was already struggling before then, but she grounded him and gave him something to fight for, and without her he just couldn’t handle anything. grew angry, bitter, resentful, flipped on the order and tore apart his friends. yuck.

Always studied, because if he didn’t put in the work he wouldn’t pull good grades

Forms a very close relationship with Lily in their 5th year when they’re both prefect

realized he was bi (and totally in love with Sirius) in his 4th year

Refuses to come out to his parents because they already have a broken son, and he didn’t want to expand on those feelings

was so terrified of that fact that he went on a year-long dating extravaganza, in which he dated and snogged every girl he could get to agree to go out with him (which was, of course, almost all of them) in an attempt to find someone he liked better than Remus. It failed.

Lives, breathes, eats, and sleeps quidditch. Wants to be a professional player someday and probably could have

half-hindu, so dark complexion, dark eyes and dark hair

keeps said hair wildly messy in a lighthearted rebellion against his family

has a massive soft spot for the house elves, and sneaks into the kitchen more often to visit with them than he does to get remus and himself a cuppa

Has loved Lily since 2nd year

doesn’t understand why she doesn’t like him for a long time, but eventually he gets it   

is naturally smart/gifted, and doesn’t understand why Remus has to study all the time

Disliked Severus for a multitude of reasons; his closeness with Lily, his inclination towards the Pureblood agenda, the fact that he was a Slytherin and was proud of it. This made him an easy bullying target for James, but he only started to truly hate Severus after the mudblood incident

hmmm I’ve always thought camping would be a really fun date, like sitting by the fire and looking at the stars and stuff. But since its about to be Christmas my dream date atm would be going to look at Christmas lights or watching Christmas movies or something super cute and festive.

I’m just attracted to people who are kind, like the type of person to smile at strangers, hold the door open for someone, and compliment a stranger jut because. That’s something that I personally try my hardest to always do, so when someone is the same I typically gravitate towards them.

I definitely want to adopt, but I also want to experience pregnancy so I’d like to have biological children as well.

13. what is a misconception you had about lgb people before you realized you were one?

I thought that all lesbians dressed like boys and cut all their hair off. That’s why I didn’t think I was gay for a long time, because I thought in order to be gay I had to want to dress like that. however, I now know that someone’s sexuality has nothing to do with their personal style. I can still like to dress “girly” and be gay.

14. what is a piece of advice you would give to your younger self

I would tell myself that God doesn’t hate me for liking girls, and that I need to stop shitting on myself for something I cant help. Id also tell myself to be careful who you trust with such a huge secret about yourself. Also to not settle for any girl that gives you attention, because you deserve someone who treats you the way you deserve.

Its okay to be confused, just don’t suppress your feelings. Things do get better and it wont always feel so heavy on your soul. You’ll grow up, get freedom and things will be easier. You’ll find your people and you’ll be loved no matter what and you’ll look back and remember all those years you never thought you’d find happiness. So hang in there it gets better.

I’m out to everyone except my family. I told almost everyone through text bc I was too scared to do it in person

Okay so this is about to be long. First, I know what you’re going through because I’m in that situation right now. My number one piece of advice is don’t come out if it’ll put your life in danger or put you in a abusive situation. What I did was tell people I knew would be supportive, that way when my parents kick me out and disown me I have somewhere to stay. I’m waiting until I am able to support myself without help from my family before I tell them because I’d be homeless and broke if I told them now.

That Mental Illness Thing.

A really good friend of mine just told me she’s struggling with depression, and so i gave her my advice. I figured it might be helpful for other people too so Imma post is here, please feel free to add anything else to it as well! heres my two cents: I'm so incredibly sorry that you feel so shitty, and I understand some of how terrible you feel right now. I want you to know that this doesn't lessen you as a person, and that this will not last forever. I was diagnosed with depression when I was 15, and I have lived a happy(ish ;)) healthy fufilling life despite that. And who knows, maybe its clinical, maybe its situational. I don't know. thats why I'm going to refer you to a bunch of different resources. 1. the family navigation project at sunnybrook works with the families of mentally ill children to help get them  the support they need. they are like 85% of the reason I got the help i needed, and theyre super nice and will help you and theyre super knowledgeable, and will check up on you and communicate with you. I was scared and smol and super alone in the whole thing and they made me feel like i wasn't fighting on my own. 100% reccomend. 2. the Delisle youth services are an organization that offer therapy and safe spaces to youth and theyre super fantastic too. Those safe spaces are also very pro LGBTQIA+ ( all of the places im reccomending are, but by far delisle are the most proactive about it) so if you feel like you need a place to ask questions about your sexuality and advice and whatnot, theyre great mate. 3. When i got my diagnosis, I had to go in circles and bounce from organization to organization a lot, so Im gonna cut to the chase here: if your looking for a diagnosis, go to your doctor and have them refer you for an appointment at the youthdale treatment centre. thats where they have child psychs that will assess you and help you figure out what you need. which leads me to: LITTLE FUN FACTS YOU SHOULD KNOWWWWW 1. you are 14< which means that you have complete control over your own medical records. if you want, you can do what i did and your parents never have to find out. you tell the doctor "i dont want my parents to know" and BY LAW they cant say jack shit. Personally, i think that if you are comfortable with it, then it makes the whole this 80000% easier on you mentally to have a parent with you, but far from me to say that it will always be the best option bc i know that things only were worse for me when my parents found out (here i should add the caveat that my parents were abusive pieces of shit and from what you told me your parents are great but idk. you know yourself and your situation best.) 2. Diagnoses are your best friend. theres a few different reasons why imo your first step is a diagnosis: a) it first of all gives you the piece of mind to know that you arent just being lazy, or self pitying, but that you have a legitimate illness that you must treat which makes it leaps and bounds easier to treat because you dont hate yourself (as much) b) the school and other institutions will help you out if you can provide that documentation. Ontario charter of rights and freedoms outlines that you are entitled to certain allowances as you have a legitimate disability. Once you have a diagnosis, you can sit down with a guidance counsellor and get some things set out to help you at school. this means for me that i am allowed to listen to music in class, i get extra time on assignments with no reprecussions, and if i need to walk out of class (panic attacks yay!) then i can. by far this has made my life sosososo much better and easier and made me so much happier. its so comforting to know if youre having a bad episode and cant move from bed than at least your not "destroying your life." also, universities are forced to recognize it too, and that leads to my last point c) as calculating as it sounds, scholarships yo. you heard me. get that mad dough. 

3. maybe the first therapist you see wont work for you. maybe you have to shop around. thats okay and normal and 100% fine. the most important part is that you find someone you can work with 4. Kids help phone has an online chat if you ever need to scream about something but dont wanna feel like youre burdening anyone. MY SUPER SUBJECTIVE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE 1. sometimes you just gotta turn your brain off and run on autopilot. sometimes you dont go to rehearsal bc you love it, sometimes you just gotta go because its thursday night and thats what happens thursday nights. 2. Schedule your life. I find that when im depressed, sitting in bed watching star trek for 16 hours feels like a really solid plan. so have a solid-er plan in place so that when you feel like that you can say that "nope i cant find out if starfleet is actually being controlled by changelings because i have to create an outline of my comparitive essay for english by 4 o clock" and so by doing that you become your own mom. i like bullet journalling for this. google it, its fun and productive.   3. Talk to people. I know how hard that can be and im really proud of you for reaching out the way you have. that takes guts, and so im putting this here as a intellectual thing to keep track of and not because i actually think youre stuggling with this part b. messaging people isnt the same as talking to them. so try to get that face-time in. go see a movie. grab some fro-yo. go to the park. see people face to face and that will make everything less shitty. SO FINAL SUM UP. this is a super shitty way to be feeling, and i know its kinda scary, but it doesnt have to suck peripherally, only in the most immediate way, in that your illness is pretty much described as "everything sucks for me always." If you ever need anything i am always right here, and there are resources available at the tips of your fingers. I have a studyblr as well and a lot of it is how to manage mental health when youre in school (and star trek memes. shut up you have your guilty pleasures too) so if you need help getting to work this is also helpful too.
