Writing style, you say? Vibes you ask for?! I think it's like... crystallised honey at the bottom of the jar. Bright beams of slanted light cutting through the aching darkness. Blank white walls that can never be filled. Something that should be good, sweet or helpful or decorative, but pared down and stripped back until it's so direct and forceful that it hurts. Sugar too sweet, so it aches behind your teeth. Light so bright it feels like a knife through the head.

Wren's story in particular evokes such feelings of recognising how tiny you are in the face of an uncaring universe. Somehow claustrophobic as well as staring at the vastness and feeling like your pain doesn't matter to anyone but you. The "comfort" Daniel gives is the too-sweet honey. The light that cuts is his ability to save himself but everything that it cost him to get there. The blankness is all the time he lost that can never be undone.
