So on Twitter, I tried to give tips on how to draw long-nosed Addisons kissing, but realized I'd need a visual aid, so after SUCH a long time not drawing, I started scribbling in MS Paint. Then realized I'd need layers, so I moved to my other computer to use Clip Studio Paint (I'm still kind of migrating slowly between my old Windows 8.1 laptop & my new Windows 10 tower PC).

But well, the hardcore aro-ace I am, I've never drawn lip-kissing humanoids, EVER! Soooo talk about starting on Hard Mode, LOL! 😅 (But these random Addison OCs smooching turned out kinda cute. :3 I think I'll call them Lily I. Pad & Ivy N. Droid [both they/she]. Yeah, cross-platform mobile device romance. 😚)

Advice on using these as references under the Read More.

The first two are performed by having the chins close together & foreheads further apart, letting the noses slide by each other, up each others' foreheads. Variants showing how they can remain close to center, or slide a bit to the side.

Then two more variants. The left ones are the intended viewing side, & the right ones are layer-swaps to show that no major facial deformity has to happen, even on a character more towards the background, for these poses to work without poking any eyes, even with less extreme nose-bending (& of course, implying that their noses flex to the side. It doesn't have to impact the aesthetic of the art work).

Once again, tipping their foreheads closer together lets you have their noses go under each others' eyes, while tipping their chins toward each other can give room for their noses to flex upward (above the eyes).

With 2D, you can take some liberties. Don't worry about it too hard, & just make 'em kith~! 😘

i don't think she would have met any of them other than robutler, but i think fabby would have gelled pretty well with any of the robots she met. i think she would think he was cute (though mainly in the same way someone thinks an animal is cute... i think it took her a bit of time to wrap her mind around the fact that they're actually alive alive). honestly the fact that he's got a little bowtie would be enough to win her over from the start, if the way she dresses up ZC-07 is any indication.

i do think robutler (and all the other robots, for that matter) would find her quite cool. i think- before cold shoulder- they kind of idolized zor as the one to make prism's dreams reality... meaning that anyone close to zor would probably be Only Slightly Less Cool than zor themself. fabby called him "[prism's] darling little valet" once and he always giggled and puffed up all flustered proud when he remembers.

at some point, i like to think fabby floated the concept of prism adding a poison module to her robots, but she quickly rejected the concept. sure, they wouldn't get poisoned, obviously- they're metal- but she wouldn't be able to guarantee her own safety... not to mention, that early in their relationship, it was harder for prism to trust fabby to begin with (ultimately, for good reason...)

solaris... was a bit different. the death engine was the most lethal invention zoraxis ever weaponized against the agency, so of course prism knew a lot about her- and of course robutler picked up a lot of that information from her. still, it was a bit... strange to meet the solaris in person. she was just as scary looking as he thought she would be, but not really scary that aside. imposingly tall, yes, but... exhausted, and quiet, and cold, and not really all too impressive for one of zoraxis' most lethal engineers.

solaris tended to keep out of prism's way, more often than not. no reason to get attached to someone who's just going to die (and depending on if zor decides to give her clearance, she may be the one helping to build her death trap). but even beyond that, she wants little to do with the agency; that includes ex-agency faculty. it puts a sour taste in her mouth.

i like to think post ieytd3- if solaris and prism ever came into contact and made an uneasy alliance with each other- she'd be more willing to give right robot a chance... however, i think prism's haphazard method of upgrading her robots would damn near give her a hernia. as well as the precariously placed and horribly ventilated laser systems. i mean christ, prism- what were you thinking?? putting a laser DIRECTLY in front of HEAT SENSITIVE kinesium?!

i don't think solaris would be opposed to giving right robot the occasional upgrade... but i do think she would be... weirded out that she would probably have to do them while he's 'awake'. there's something very... invasive about rummaging through a robot's guts while its staring at you and asking you questions.

Description:

Strategic bombing went from mere speculative theory to integral strategy of air warfare. Of the many vehicles used for this task, the Theler Eklipse was by far the most widespread, going through a large number of modifications over its service life.

Originally, the Eklipse was developed to bomb the field outposts used to anchor UWF Air Destroyers in rural areas of Lohner, which were a constant thorn in the side of attacking forces. Their wild success in this role led to them supplementing bombing airships in attacking cities, industrial towns, and army bases, and soon they were being upgraded and widely produced.

Starting with the ZC model, the Eklipse gained a gun tunnel, a slot in the tail that gave the gunner increased visibility as well as allowing them to cover the area under the tail, traditionally where bombers are most vulnerable.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I got my pins today and I couldn't be happier. I was a little worried cause the package looks like it went through a war zone and was partially open (which I mean it did have to travel half way across the world to Hawaii) but luckily the pins survived. A few of the posts on the back got bent but that looks easy enough to fix. The important part, the front with your gorgeous artwork, is unscathed so I am very happy. These turned out even better than I was hoping and I am so glad I bought them. <3 You are one of my favorite Trigun artists, and I love enamel pins, so I was so excited when you announced these as merch. A view at archeology, renaissance and modern times

Museum of Archeology (Muzeum Archeologiczne w Gdansku) is somehow amazing for its building as well as its content. It was originally a main gate in the medieval defence city wall, called St. Mary's Gate.

This gate was first mentioned in 1484CE. In the 1600s the wall ceased as a defensive structure, and was earmarked for common housing. A Renaissance tenement house, Naturalists' house, was build and extended over the years with towers and change of facade.

Heavily damaged during WWII, it was renovated between 1946-1960. The use as a museum was decided during the renovation.

The building contains several smaller exhibitions spread in a rather large building complex. In addition to archeology and history from the stone age in this area of Europe, is also has a large Sudanese/Nubian exhibition of Northeast Africa.

From the tall tower there is a great surrounding view of Gdansk city, harbour and suburbs.

The replica of a galeon sailship for tourist somehow adds to the visuals in this photo. The Black Pearl and its sistership Lew is has its ticket booth and moors here.

The museum is under renovation, and wil not open until the spring of 2023.

Zara Jade Cesar was born on April 7th, 57 years ago, into the prestigious Cesar family, the founding family of Greywood. yes on the friar plotline!! that piece of this world has truly been slow burning for years -- all the way back to season 1 -- and it was so cathartic to finally bring some clarity and closure to it. i can definitely say that writing 410 and 411 were challenging but also some of my favorite episodes to craft in the entire series (and, dare i say, some of our best). i'm so glad it landed and is paying off. it was so meaningful to start getting to write lucas james kinsley in the following episodes instead.

can't even get into the zc of it all i'm so *dial up noises* about them. make me insane, truly. it's been a long, hard-fought journey but oh did we get here. i'm so proud of both of them for the growth -- ESPECIALLY charlie, as you said. he's come so far (even if there remains tribulations to face, i.e., eleanor)

it's definitely been so fun to bring the minkus clan to life over the last five years. they are a unique, intriguing, colorful cast of side characters (just like the gardners), and i'm so happy that we have readers like you who enjoy even those details in our story universe. 😊 their dynamic as a family has certainly come a long way since the pilot too.

Time Domain Reflectometer - TDR for Metal Cable: Operating principles

To localize defects in metal cables, there is a popular, widely used device — reflectometer.

The reflectometer measures the reflection of a signal. This method for cable damage detection complements all the others we've previously discussed and, in some cases, gives more accurate results, especially when locating wire entanglements or breaks and looking for non-persistent faults. Furthermore, it allows one to clearly identify several individual problems when they interfere with each other, as well as determine the range of each one of them.

Reflectometers' principle of operation

The reflectometer detects irregularities in any wire line (in particular, in a symmetrical twisted pair) by measuring the reflected signal. To do this, short DC electrical pulses are applied to the cable pair being tested. Suppose there is an imperfection in the cable. In that case, some or all of the energy of the original DC impulse is reflected back. Both the sent pulse and all of its reflections are shown on the display. Impedance abnormalities could be of various origins; each of them has a unique reflection pattern. Thanks to this feature, it is possible to determine from the shape of the reflected signal not only the location but also the nature of the fault.

This principle of determining the state of a cable pair based on the parameters of the reflected pulse is called time domain reflectometry (TDR). At its core, it is identical to the radar principle used in radio systems.

The method of measuring the signal at the output of the line being tested (also called the incident wave method) provides only an integral assessment of the line's condition. It requires two devices: a generator on the transmitting side and a signal meter on the receiving end. On the contrary, reflectometry, firstly, allows one to estimate the quality of the wire at any point of its length. Secondly, a measuring device is needed only at one end of the line. This latter feature is the key for TDReflectometers to become as widely used as they now are.

To determine the distance to a particular fault spot or just an impedance abnormality of the cable, one needs to simply set the propagation coefficient and measuring range. The propagation coefficient defines the speed of the electrical impulse going through the cable of a particular type as a reference for the reflectometer. After capturing the impulse, the device will automatically calculate and display the distance to the damaged point of the cable.

Before looking into all the quirks and features of reflectometers, it is helpful to briefly describe the key features of a simple symmetrical twisted pair cable, as they are directly related to the reflectometer's operation.

It is well known that any symmetrical pair is a two-wire electrical line, and it is described as a chain of primary sections connected in series. Each section is a simple circuit, a four-pole unit consisting of active resistance R, inductance L, capacitance C, and active conductivity G.

When a harmonic signal circulates in a twisted pair circuit, the voltage-to-current ratio at each point is called the input impedance of the twisted pair. If a twisted pair is loaded at the end with a resistance equal to

where w=2pf, then it's input resistance will be equal to Zc anywhere along the line.

This input resistance for any twisted pair is its defining feature, and it is called wave impedance or characteristic impedance. In this ideal example, all the energy of the signal, when reaching the load Zc, dissipates completely from it. This characteristic is relevant for a specific cable length known as electrical length and listed in a spec sheet.

Suppose a twisted pair is loaded with a resistance ZL different from Zc. In that case, the energy of the probing signal is only partially absorbed by the load and partly directed back to the emitter. The relative measure of the power going back through the line is called the reflection coefficient, p = (ZL – Zc)/ (ZL + Zc).

If ZL = Zc, then this reflection coefficient is equal to zero, meaning there's no reflection at all, and this is called "impedance matching."

If there is an imperfection somewhere at the point "x" (Zx< >Zc), the reflection coefficient

p = (Zx - Zc)/(Zx + Zc) will have a non-zero value, meaning there's some reflection of the initial impulse. There could be two edge cases: a short circuit or an open circuit.

Open circuit means wire breakage, and Zx is infinitely big.

In this case, the probing signal is reflected back from the breakage completely, keeping the original phase and polarity when detected by the reflectometer's receiver.

If the line is shorted at the point X, then Zx=0. Thus р = (0 - Zc)/(0 + Zc) = –Zc/+Zc = –1. The probing impulse will also be completely reflected back by the short circuit point, but its phase will turn 180 degrees, so we'll detect reverse signal polarity at the reflectometer's input.

For all the other intermediate conditions of the twisted pair, like a partial circuit shortage or opening, the image is more complex. Usually, interpreting this takes some professional experience, but it can be viewed as a set of standard known faults in a cable.
