Have you guys played date everything? I think it’s really interesting how they pleat with dynamics and explore how toxicity can affect the people around you.

Take dirk and Harper’s relationship. They ever clearly have a toxic and abusive relationship. It’s like they’re whole thing. Harper is way too codependent and controlling while dirk is too emotionally absent and uncaring, that’s not even getting into their whole laundry list (heh) of other issues that I won’t say because spoilers. But there’s in game dialogue options where you can convey genuine discomfort. You become a third party moderator every time you interact with the two of them whether you like it or not and I think it very realistically portrays how a talking with a toxic couple in a fight could look like irl. It’s interesting.

And on a less overt level you can look at how chance and lux interact. During chance’s oneshot where we play with lux, lux is constantly interrupting does not care about what’s happening and it’s unclear to the player why they decided to come in the first place. This of course could be attributed to the way their charecter was written, they’re very clearly a caricature of a bitch twink but you also have to take into account how chance responds to them. More often than not he’s seen ignoring any interruptions, maybe glaring at them slightly or gently acknowledging them and moving on. There are a few moments where he shows his anger but not many and it never culminates into a blow up like how some media shows with “the nerdy pushover snaps and yells at someone”. Instead we just see a man trying to enjoy a game with his friends, one of which clearly doesn’t care but he’s sort of thankful they showed up anyway. Chance is exasperated, annoyed, frustrated, but never really angry. It’s already been established that Lux and Chance have some sort of relationship so Chance knows their personality. That’s just how they are you have to get over it. It’s all very realistic. We’ve all had that old friend that we’ve known since forever and they’re a fucking asshole but you’ve just known them for so long you’ve just accepted it because what else are you going to do? Resigned that’s the word I’m looking for.

Hey genuine question for y’all with narcolepsy

When you fall asleep in the middle of writing do you just like keep writing? This has been happening for awhile and I read somewhere that people with narcolepsy can sometimes just continue on with the task they were doing while asleep for a few seconds but I don’t know the extent of it.

I was in class today and I’m looking back through my notes to transcribe them on my tablet and at one point I just kept writing ‘the’ over and over again and at this point I don’t know if I fell asleep or was dissociating.

Been debating bringing this up to my doc since I have insomnia and the meds she gave me worked and I fall asleep and stay asleep but I’m never rested. Like constantly feeling like I’m about to fall asleep throughout the day.

Okay but you know how dick had that whole finding himself thing after getting kicked out of the manor and was really helped by Superman and eventually becoming nightwing naming himself after the kryptonian myth?

Imagine that but with Damian and Kon.

No no think about it really think about it.

Damian and Kon were both created/raised to be living weapons, both looked at with distrust by their fathers, both struggling with the identity seemingly forced on them/ given to them at birth. Damian is currently going through wanting to step down from Robin and it’s not the exact same way dick left robin but he also is getting into a fight with Bruce and if he were to leave Gotham like dick had it would lead to a whole new expanse of heroes and other characters he could connect with.

In some runs Superman knows Bruce so there’s also a whole other layer of parallels because Dick being “saved” sort of by Superman who knows Bruce, even if he’s not close, and then Damian being saved by Kon in some way who knows Tim with dick having direct conflict with Bruce and Damian having direct conflict with Tim

Although I will say I don’t love when Damian and Tim’s conflict is blown out of proportion because it takes away from Damian character growth.

Idk I just thought this would be a really fun idea to play with

It’s so hard to find a well balanced angst fic. Well it’s not really that hard but I’m picky and they all cycle through the same plots. Same soup different bowl ya know? Sometimes it’s just full blown torture porn which is NOT what I’m looking for but there’s been an influx of people not properly tagging their fics. And yeah I’ve been know to read a dead dove here and there but I think everyone needs a reminder that when you add the dead dove no not eat tag you actually have to tag the dove. It doesn’t matter if it’s going to “spoil the story” you can’t tell someone it’s exactly what it says on the tin and then scratch out the ingredient list it’s just bad manners at that point. The tagging system exists for a reason from one author to another please for the love of god tag your fucking fics im begging you. Also please don’t indent your paragraphs on ao3. I know that’s what we were all taught in school and trust me I had to train myself out of the habit but that really only applies to essays. Believe me it’ll save you time and just give your work a bit more polish. Or don’t. I don’t really care and it’s not my business what you do. Except when you don’t properly tag your fics. You need to do that. Even if it’s not like an official rule it’s common courtesy and will help attract readers who actually want that kind of content so do everyone the favor

do you remember those like four months during batman and the outsiders 2019 when cass and duke had a legitimately compelling dynamic and duke would be like "you are not weak for having once been what they made you, you are actually incredibly strong for choosing to be something else" and cass would be like "you are not weak for being frightened in the wake of your terrible injury, you are actually incredibly strong for persisting despite the fear" and they both so deeply admired what the other hated in themself (duke's deep connection with his emotions and awareness of his own mortality vs cass's focused intensity in combat and unwavering obsession with The Cause) and then dc was like "whoaaa i just blacked out for a second that was crazy. anyway now you guys are gonna go be carboard cutouts in the background of joker war for three months"

I include home made toffee in my cookie recipe and I don’t know the number of times I’ve had to physically stop myself from touching it to see if it’s cool. Like melt sugar is fucking HOT you should not touch that shit it all leave you with some gnarly fucking burns and you should definitely not touch it until it’s completely cool.

It’s a beautiful day in the inland empire and I am a horrible little dog

Some of my recent bakes I’ve made 11 cookies 2 jalapeno cheddar loaves 1 double chocolate chip loaf and 2 og loaves

The cookies are a brown butter chocolate chip with homemade toffee

The jalepeno cheddar had fresh diced jalapeño and grated mild cheddar cheese mixed in during the 2nd set of could folds so I could trap the inclusions in the gluten matrix without tearing the dough. If I had cubed the cheese the sharp corners would have torn it, made it harder to trap in the dough and weighed down the dough too much so it would have had a bad rise and turned out gummy. This is the same reason I did not add them during shaping

The double chocolate I used about 4 oz of coffee and bloomed chocolate milk mix and then added that to my water. This makes a very sweet dessert loaf and I added the chocolate chips during the 2nd coil fold. It was slightly over proofed because I had to step out of the house during the bulk fermentation and the sugar caused it to ferment faster but it still turned out good giving it a sort of brownie flavor.

The og loaves are my standard sourdough recipe and I didn’t include a picture.

I’ve returned to my roots and by roots I mean I’m writing my hero academia fanfic again.

I guess it’s not really my roots if I was really returning to my roots I’d write Percy Jackson fics but that hasn’t been my niche in years.

Like, telling a minor (who’s usually depicted as 10-11 in fanon) about ur sexual activities (with his OWN FAMILY MEMBERS) is actually weird as hell… Especially when they say it as soon as damian opens his mouth to say legit anything…
