Vent #7: Empty Roll = Pure Criminal
There are few moments in life that strip you down to your most primal state. One of them is discovering an empty toilet roll when it is already too late to do anything about it.
Who left it like this? Who looked into the hollow cardboard tube and thought, “Yes. This is fine. Let someone else live this nightmare.”
Replacing the roll is not difficult. It is not emotional labour. It is not something that should require a task delegation system or a strongly worded chart. It is literally the difference between peace and chaos. Between a quick wee and a full-on logistical crisis.
And yet. Time and time again. We face the void.
So I say this on behalf of all who have suffered. If you use the last of the loo roll and do not replace it, you are the villain in someone’s origin story.
Get it together!!

Vent #6: Regulation Smegulation
Some days? The world can just F right off.
You try. You really try. You start the day with your little to-do list, your hydration goals, and a tiny glimmer of optimism. And then…
Boom.
You’re spiralling because your sock seam feels weird and someone crunched too loudly near you and suddenly you’re rage-eating toast in the dark like a gremlin who’s given up on civilisation.
Self-regulation isn’t a vibe. It’s a battle.
And honestly? Most advice out there is either condescending, neurotypical nonsense or just more pressure disguised as “help.”
No thanks.
So I made something better.
For the brain chaos. For the sensory sabotage. For the shutdowns, meltdowns, masking hangovers and that weird empty feeling that hits after you’ve held it together too long.
You’re not lazy, broken, or “too much.” You’re dysregulated in a system that doesn’t stop to ask if you’re okay.
So here’s something that might actually help.
🧠✨ Regulate This: A Self-Guided Survival Course for ND Adults
No toxic positivity. No yoga guilt. No pretending to be fine.
Just real tools, tiny steps, and a pay-what-you-feel model, because support should be accessible, not aspirational.

Have a look into RSD, when you start to recognise when it’s showing up - sometimes all the time in every interaction - it’s easier to remind yourself not everyone’s out to get you, or disagree 🫶🏻
can someone teach me how to be emotionally regulated and not be sensitive or take things personally

Vent #5: Living with the Mask: Why So Many of Us Hide, and How We Can Start to Uncover Who We Really Are
For many neurodivergent women like myself, masking isn’t just a habit, it’s a survival skill. It’s how we navigate a world that wasn’t designed with our wiring in mind. We mimic, we soften, we script ourselves to fit in, to avoid judgment, to keep the peace. It’s exhausting, though. And often, it leaves us feeling disconnected from who we really are.
Maybe you know the feeling: constantly performing, tuning yourself down or up depending on the audience, and at the end of the day, wondering where “you” went. Maybe you don’t even realise you’re masking until the cracks start to show: burnout, overwhelm, or the unsettling thought that you’re living a life that isn’t truly yours.
It’s okay. You’re not alone. It took me till I was 26 to even realise, and 34 before I started doing anything about it. This isn’t something that can be stripped away from you overnight, especially when it’s been a part of you for so long.
Unmasking is a journey, not a switch. It’s about finding those moments where you can be your genuine self, even if just for a little while. It’s about reclaiming your energy, your boundaries, and your voice and doing that in a way that feels safe and sustainable for you.
That’s why this resource exists, to offer gentle support and practical reflections for anyone ready to start peeling back the layers. It’s not about perfection or “getting it right,” but about exploring what unmasking might look like in your life, at your own pace.
If you’re interested in diving deeper, there’s NeuroLearn: a free (pay what you feel - nothing is ok), gentle, self-paced program that helps unpack the layers of masking, with practical tools and insights tailored for women navigating this complex experience. It’s created by someone who’s been there and understands the nuances, not just the struggle, but the potential for growth beyond it.
You deserve to feel seen, heard, and whole - no matter how long it’s taken to get here. This is for you.

Vent #4: The Time Warp
I sat there, somewhere between a cup of tea gone cold and a tab about Roman aqueducts, wondering when “a quick Google” turned into an accidental dissertation?
Hyperfocus is shit like that. It’ll rob you of precious hours, sometimes months. It starts as almost an afterthought “Let’s just look this one thing up…”
And before you know it, you’re four hours deep, emotionally invested in a stranger’s forum post from 2008, with a completely new skillset, at least three Amazon orders and convinced you need to re-organise your entire kitchen right now. If only you could find the label maker…
Ever thought to yourself “How is it June already?” And then not a week later you’re picking out Christmas decorations because you blinked and now it’s December.
It’s not laziness. It’s not distraction. It’s not “time moves slower when you’re a kid, you notice it as an adult”… no, no we don’t.
It’s your brain turning on its high beams and blasting through a tunnel of curiosity at 100mph… forgetting your body needs hydration, rest, or even just a wee.
It’s sitting up till 2-3am every night planning businesses and a life you’ll never get to live because the next day you’ll be so tired you’re definitely taking a nap around lunch.
And the kicker? You might not even remember what pulled you in to begin with.
Hyperfocus feels like time bending around you, you’re productive and powerless all at once.
And in a world that rewards consistency over chaos, that can leave you feeling like you’re failing, even while doing everything too much.
But maybe we’re not broken. Maybe our rhythm just doesn’t run on straight lines.
So here’s to the ones who lose time while making sense of everything.
Who live in waves of intensity.
Who forget to reply, but never forget to care.
I see you.

Vent #3: Nowhere to put it
Ever been so full of unspoken stuff you could scream into a cushion and it still wouldn’t be enough?
Yeah. Same.
That’s the thing about venting… everyone says “you should talk to someone” like it’s easy. Like you’ve got a panel of emotionally available, unshockable besties waiting on standby with snacks and a soothing playlist. Meanwhile, your actual options are:
Trauma-dumping on a group chat that only wanted memes
Bottling it up until you get a migraine or
Venting out loud to no one while doing the dishes like a feral Victorian ghost.
It’s not that the feelings aren’t real. It’s that there’s nowhere to put them.
No space that feels safe.
No person who feels neutral.
No guarantee it won’t get used against you later.
And so it builds. And builds. And builds.
Until you’re holding an emotional bin bag with a broken bottom and no one’s offering a spare hand.
That’s why I made The Ventagonist. Because not everyone has a person, and even when you do, you don’t always want to hand over the heaviest part of your day. Sometimes, you just want to write it down, slam the door on it, and move on.
No fixes. No toxic positivity. No “have you tried meditating?”
Just a space. A digital one. Anonymous, unfiltered, yours.
So if you’ve got something to say and nowhere to put it, try it out.
You’ve got a free one this weekend. Code: 1FREEVENT
https://ko-fi.com/theventagonist
Dump it. Delete it. Burn it in your mind. Whatever works.
We’re not here to judge. We’re just here.

Vent #2: Always being the person people trauma-dump on.
Some of that’s empathy. Some of it’s the autism. Some of it’s being a people-pleasing little shit who masks emotions like it’s a full-time job. I’m neurodivergent ( autistic and ADHD ) and raising two kids who are too, plus learning disabilities in the mix. So yeah, my brain is basically running five browsers and three fire drills at all times.
And here’s the thing:
We all carry too much.
We all get overwhelmed, overstimulated, over-it.
But we don’t all have safe places to put any of it.
Not everyone wants therapy. Not everyone can access it. Not everyone wants advice or a reaction or a “have you tried meditating?” moment.
Sometimes? You just want to vent.
Scream into a digital void. Drop the emotional baggage. Walk away.
So I made a place for that.
It’s called The Ventagonist - part chaos confessional, part pressure valve for your brain.
You write what you need to get out. No judgment. No login. No follow-up.
Just a soft digital dumping ground for your emotional clutter.
Because we all deserve somewhere to go when it gets too loud inside.

Vent #1: Starting is 💩
Nothing about starting anything is easy. The idea, the planning, the learning hurdles, the financing, the motivation to keep going… it all sucks.
You stare at the blank page, the empty inbox, or feel like “Where do I even begin?” while everyone else seems to have it all together.
Social media’s a parade of people launching businesses, side hustles, passion projects… and you’re stuck wondering if you even have permission to try.
The pressure to start something just to prove you’re “doing” something? Exhausting. Like if you don’t have a project or a launch or a side hustle, you don’t exist.
Here’s the logic: nobody’s keeping score. No one’s waiting for you to start so they can decide if you’re worth it.
The only person making it urgent is you. So that pressure? It’s mostly self-inflicted. Ditch it & do great things!

🔥 Welcome to the Void 🔥
This is your official invitation to scream into the internet and be heard.
No fixing. No pressure. Just a safe space to offload life’s nonsense with full sass and zero judgement.
This isn’t therapy. This is emotional recycling. A home for the petty. The mildly unhinged. The people holding it together with sarcasm and snackies.
Got a drama that’s too small for therapy but too loud to hold in? You’re in the right place. Let the void take the heat.
