I've been listening to Hadestown nonstop, and with a new book of The Hunger Games having dropped I need to speak of an idea that came to me sometime ago since I heard the line "the kingdom will fall for a song". So here goes a ramble. I apologize for any mistakes since English isn't my first language.

A Hadestown AU of The Hunger Games. Hear me out!

Snow as Hades and Lucy Gray as Persephone, their relationship based not only in the musical but also that one fanart where we see the two possible endings of the couple if they were to get married (I can't find it).

And here is where things can get surprising, Katniss as Orpheus and Peeta as Eurydice. Trust me, I have a vision.

While personality based they fit more the other way around, Katniss is the one who sings, the one whose song inspired and gave strength to the revolution. While Peeta in the books was capture by the capitol. The relationship between them would need to be adjusted, not as similar to the musical. I feel like Katniss wouldn't be a poet openly, for her singing would be more personal like in the books. And of course Peeta isn't really similar to Eurydice, but some changes could be made, instead him moving from town to town for survival it could be because he works delivering the bread, but due to the almost constant winter his living situation wasn't that great.

There are some finer details too how Peeta would end up captured by Snow, because I feel like what happens in Hadestown wouldn't fit that well with this AU.

There are some characters I'm not so sure about, but I think Haymicht could Hermes I don't know if the fates should be their own character or who should it be.
