100% and sorry for such a long response but I also despise how people call Hufflepuff the house that the “rejects” go to.

Within the story (along side FBAWTFT) were showed multiple Hufflepuff characters who have traits that could put them in any house. Newt was incredibly daring and smart along side being cunning enough to outsmart the ministry. Tonks died for the rebellion and stood in a room full of Gryffindors ready to put a literal target on her back. And Cedric sacrificed himself against a man so feared people wouldn’t even say his name all to protect a kid he barely knew. That’s as daring, smart, and cunning as it gets.

And that doesn’t even begin to talk about the fact that Harry could have been in slytherin, Ron in Hufflepuff, and Hermione in Ravenclaw. Being brave put them in Gryffindor yes but again they have traits outside of that could have put them in other houses. Hufflepuffs are just known for being kind but that doesn’t make them any less intelligent, (tbh when I think Hufflepuff I’d assume because they’re such kind good people they’d be on top of their work putting in the effort to make it nice for their teachers/bosses) or any less ambitious, (in fact I’d argue they’re probably more so ambitious to accomplish good in the world. I imagine a Hufflepuff putting in the work to be able to get to a position to help others) and it’s genuinely crazy to say they aren’t brave (every single Hufflepuff Ik is the kindest person you’ll ever meet until you do something unjust or to hurt someone they care about by then you’ve lighten a fire under them and they’ll fight for you until the end)

Its just weird people wouldn’t want to be in Hufflepuff when in a way it’s just all of the houses combined but with the niceness notch broken on full
