Blind Tumblr users: don’t get the latest iOS app update!

I just updated my tablet to the newest version of the tumblr app for iOS and it completely broke screen reader access for both VoiceOver and Spoken Content. This has happened in the past already, so I will file a support ticket and copy-paste my text from last time, but this really sucks. I sincerely hope this doesn’t affect all screen reader users, but I’m unsure how they could program this bug in a way it only affects me. If you rely on a screen reader to use the tumblr app, I’d advice to not get the latest update to be on the safe side.

When I say “completely broke access”, what I mean is that no posts on my dash or on individual blogs get read or recognized at all. No plain text, alt text, tags, etc. Note count and buttons still work though.

If you also run into this bug, here’s my advice. If anyone has something more useful, please tell me

File a support ticket and report this bug

Use the browser web version, which still works for me

Interestingly, if you save a post to your drafts and click on “edit” the post text seems to get read correctly. This might be a work-around for some people.

If you have the latest version but your screen reader didn’t break, also please tell me! I would be fascinated to know if this bug is only affecting some people

I know that its basically canon that Jason's not afraid of death and thus acts the most reckless possible because he's already been there done that, right? And its not like theres anything worse than death, so he might as well go all in at all times, but what if he was instead terribly afraid of dying? Not because of death itself but because there is something worse that death, and it's coming back from it.

Jason knows death is not that bad really, because at least the pain stops, then. But coming back? That's what truly terrifies him, and it's only possible if he dies.

He has a thousand contingencies in place to make sure that if he does die again (and theres a half thought there of going out to find a way to never die, because no matter what he suffers after, it's never going to be worse than coming back), nothing is able to bring him back.

One night, a freak explosion leaves him seriously injured, a stray metal shard digging itself deep in his stomach. As the bats rush him back to the cave, delirious from the pain and blood loss, Jason begs Bruce to please, please, get rid of my body, dad, I dont wanna come back again, please swear to me you won't bury me again.

And Bruce, poor Bruce, has to look his son in the eyes and tell him that yes, he'll make sure he doesn't come back again (and oh, how does it hurt, knowing that the best thing that happened to you is the worst pain you son will ever feel).

Jason steps into fights only when he knows every single detail of it, and it's what makes him ten times more efficient and just as much scarier to criminals. He is swift when dealing out justice, and as precise as a surgeon. No one really escapes him, be it petty criminals or mob bosses.

He still gets hurt a great deal, because his pain tolerance is definitely fucked up, and he knows his limits, so he can tell when a wound is nothing to get worried about.

ok i can't find the original, but I saw a post that was talking about how Damian hiding his injuries in fics is unrealistic to how the League would likely run, and he'd actually be the most diligent in accounting for his injuries, even the most minor. ('Father. I sustained a papercut. Alfred has issued me a bandage to treat it, and I will notify you of any changes.')

I feel like he would do that with his siblings as well, just being an absolute snitch when it comes to them trying to hide the fact that they're injured. Like, Jason ignored Bruce's advice and got stabbed as a result? You bet Damian is immediately telling him. Duke didn't notice he got a cut on his cheek? Alfred knows before Duke himself does. Dick sprains his wrist and figures he'll be fine? Think again, Damian is already shoving ice into his hands and lecturing him about the danger of untreated injuries.

Mischievous third child Jason, who watched Steph fight to save her hometown and wants to follow in her footsteps as well as he possibly can after her "death"

Unstoppable Babs, who puts on a costume under her father's nose whether they want her to or not. Also joins unofficially

Wild fourth child Dick, a pure ray of sunshine and bad puns

Quiet and intense Bruce, Damian's biological son who lost his (previously unknown) single mother in an accident that might not have been so accidental

And finally... Youngest adopted/fostered sibling Alfred, British snob and horrible influence extraordinaire

Do you have any headcannons about tim duke and damian bonding/being brothers?

Okay so here's the thing, right. Duke knows Tim and Damian love each other. Despite all their fights and arguments and petty squabbles, they're brothers and they can't dispute that. And Duke knows Damian is fond of him in his own weird, prickly way. It's Tim he isn't sure about.

"I love Damian, sure," he overheard Tim saying, "but I like Duke." and he isn't sure why he felt a pang of something. Like, Tim said. Not love.

Tim, however, had no idea Duke overheard that conversation. He was bitching about Damian to Dick as usual; a snippet of a longer rant about how much more bearable Duke was compared to Damian. He assumed him also loving Duke was implied, because it's obvious he does.

Eventually someone tells Tim and Tim sets the record straight, but after that he makes sure to spend more time with Duke. If Duke thought, even for a moment, that Tim didn't love him, he was doing something horribly wrong.

Tim calls them both his little brothers and corrects anyone that says otherwise. He tells them that if they ever want to beat the shit out of anyone in school, they should provoke the person to hit first and hit hard so they can claim self-defense.

Damian thinks this is great advice. Duke grew up in Gotham proper so he already knew that, but appreciated it still.

Duke insists on movie nights every Friday and Tim tries his best to make it to every single one of them. Damian only agrees to attend because he's allowed two vetoes per movie night.

All three of them pull the "but I'm just a baby :(" card when they need to get something from Bruce but in completely different ways. Damian is the youngest so obviously it works for him, but Tim's is a guilt-trip in and of itself, a "remember when you were mean to me when I was just a kid trying to help you? Remember that?" Duke's is ALSO a guilt-trip but that's because his parents were supposed to die in a scene mirroring Bruce so every time he pulls the "I'm just a kid, B" card, Bruce is reminded how Duke had the chance of growing up with his parents snatched away from him, and he caves.

Anyway they're all completely and utterly insane and it's a struggle teaming them up because when there's two of them in a team, they make fun of people for not wanting to participate in their crazy stunts, when it's only one of them, they're equally insane but spend the whole time grumbling about how one of the other two would have agreed with them, and all three is asking for a homicide basically
