Ok so I’m going through Chapter 1-4 in the game and honestly I want more Heartshackle content. I don’t mean just with Ace and Deuce. I mean everyone in Heartslabyul. EVEN THE NPCS!! Especially after Riddles overblot!!

Throughout the game the main cast in the dorm seem very fond of Yuu. It would’ve been interesting to see a prologue of Riddle inviting Yuu over for a private tea party to apologize to them after his overblot.

They were given the letter at lunch due to Ace forgetting to give it to them in the morning like Riddle asked him to. In Ace’s defense, why did he even give it to him? (Deuce would’ve been the better option) Riddle foolishly gave it to Ace, due to him noticing that he hangs out with Yuu more than Deuce has recently. Yuu scoffed seeing that the letter Ace gave them was slightly crumbled up. As they opened the letter it looked like a formal invitation with dates, times, and where to go. Though what caught their attention the most was that Riddle’s signature was at the bottom of the invitation. Of course Yuu went mostly out of curiosity, but also because of the promise of food since the letter did state it was a tea party.

Once Yuu was lead there by Trey, soon sat down in what seemed to be a a more enclosed and private part of the maze. The flowers were painted red as always with little splatters of paint still dripping from them. Sitting down at the small table Riddle was already there sitting across from Yuu. Trey waved Yuu goodbye and silently Riddle good luck. The red head seemed slightly nervous as he stirred his tea around. The small table had a few of Yuu’s favorite foods.

“…Thank you for coming Yuu. I appreciate it.” He stated breaking the awkward silence.

“… Welcome… um…,” Yuu fiddled with their form,”Why did you invite to a tea party? Not that I’m complaining… thanks but… why?” Yuu questioned him.

He froze soon getting to the point of why he wanted them here,” I wanted to apologize.” Yuu looked shocked.

“ Especially for what I said to you…” he grimaced remembering what he told Yuu.

Yuu didn’t even know what to say to him. While Yuu tried not to hold a grudge it felt nice to just hear him say “I’m sorry” after everything that happened during his overblot. It was almost too refreshing for them to hear those words. So they forgave him.

Soon their private tea parties turned into Yuu always coming over for the Unbirthday parties. They even had a special seat saved for them at the parties of course it was beside Riddle.

Including Cater finally having a sleepover at Ramshackle!!! Anytime cater asks if he could come over since Ace and Deuce are HES TOLD NO!!! WHY!? Even if he’s joking I want Cater to be able to come over and do a ton of dumb things with the freshman. Hell him even encouraging Ace to prank call Riddle then deny that he had anything to do with it. Even though he told Ace he wouldn’t snitch on him. I need Cater randomly one day just showing up to Ramshackle in his pajamas because he reached 100k followers on magicam last night and wanted to show Yuu. Is he out of breath? Yes. But that’s not important he’s trending and his most popular picture is of them drinking boba together at that new restaurant. He doesn’t have anything to do today and there’s a new trending restaurant so why don’t you come with him Yuu? He’ll pay for whatever they want if they tag along.

That slowly evolves to them knowing the entire dorm. Nobody knows how one singular student befriended a whole ass dorm. Everyone in the dorm thinks Yuu is super chill and cool so who cares? Yuu now has a literal cult of friends willing to help them now.

Yuu lost their pencil, Ace won’t share, and Deuce doesn’t have any extras? Well move aside Ace David can share his he has blue, red, green, and yellow! Grim blew their lunch money on tuna this morning don’t worry Ken and Alex will buy you lunch. It’s the least they can do since Yuu helped them get away with forgetting to paint the roses. Yuu is getting picked on by savannaclaw students? Don’t worry about it! Max and Billy will show them not to pick on the Prefect! And so on everyone in Heartslabyul now has Yuu’s back.

i think kalim has to grapple a lot with the idea of people being forced to hang out with him. i don’t think he’s stupid enough to really believe that jamil is with him by choice and there are moments where he makes comments which are extremely self-aware, but these moments are always quite brief.

ultimately, the character of yuu/you is so comforting. someone who has no connection to his world, who does not need his wealth since, quite frankly, what are you going to do with thaumarks/madol when you get home?

it breaks my heart to say this, but i do think kalim would have self-aware moments where he asks things like, “are you sure you want to do this?” which is translated to ‘are you sure you are with me willingly, or does my wealth have something to do with it?’ and, as much as i adore jamil, he’s very flawed. out of duty, he would warn kalim about you, making claims that you spend time with him for something other than his company. if your eyes catch kalim’s jewelry for too long, his mind would drift to the things that jamil said and his doubts would resurface. you, of course, could not tell while his smile shined brighter than the sun’s reflection on his gold.

It is honestly still so funny to me that in Jades dream he gets Azul’s facial features better than Floyd’s. I can see who his favorite in their little group is.

Warning: long unfiltered Rambling that turns into who’s the best to get help studying enjoy <3

Honestly it would be disastrous if Yuu ever got sick at NRC. They are just some random human from another world. If they get just a common flu it would lead to a global pandemic in twst. I’d like to believe that in the universe of twisted wonderland and where Yuu comes from while they might have similar illnesses they are very different. Like when Riddle got a cold in his lab wear card. If he were to get Yuu sick it would affect them differently due to Yuu’s body not knowing how to deal with magical germ? Basically since Yuus body is probably trying to adapt to magic it would be dangerous if they ever got any illnesses. Take Luz from TOH she got sick with “The common mold” basically just a cold, but once she got better she literally had mushrooms growing out of her head!!(Probably a side effect since the name of the illness has mold)

So imagine if Yuu ever gets twsts version of a cold they hallucinate, have fevers that constantly drop and rise, effects their skin, hair, eyes, or even how things taste. Once they get better by some miracle they notice that their skin is now tinted blue, hair looks like it’s covered in snow, and are having a hard time eating anything hot.

Or even just with disorders like ADHD, Autisim, dyslexia, OCD, and etc. (Let’s just say disorders in twst are different from the ones we have here or aren’t as common because ✨magic✨)

Let’s say Yuu is one day just trying to get help on an assignment from one of the teachers. And Yuu mentions they have been un-medicated since they’ve been at NRC and assume that’s why they’re doing so bad in class. Let’s say it’s Crewel and he just looks at Yuu confused. So now Yuu has to explain everything about their disorder and why they’re doing have to be medicated for it.

Let’s face it Ace, Deuce, and Grim are useless for any help in class you need. Ace and Deuce are just copying off each other hoping the other has the right answer.(Little do they know both of them forgot to study) Grim decided to try and bring in a cheat sheet that immediately got taken up after it slipped out of his paws. Yuu is left to fend for themself study wise. Anyone outside of their class will be better help than those 3.

If Yuu needs any help studying then Riddle and Trey are their best options. If riddle isn’t busy helping anyone in Heartslabyul he’d for sure help you. If you don’t understand it the 12th time he explains it you’re on your own with the 2 giant text books he gave you to study with. Trey is very patient he will help you out if he isn’t preparing for an unbirthday party. Very patient. Cater it’s honestly a 50/50 he’ll help you if he understands it if he doesn’t you’re once again on your own.

Leona (if you threaten his nap time) might help you. Ruggie will help you for a price. Leona is very smart and probably would be making straight A’s if he actually showed up to classes. He might help you out of pity especially if it’s something that’s commonly known in twst. (WE’RE FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSE YOU MF-) Ruggie is very unhelpful if he’s given money or something in return for helping you. Jack is the best out of these two to ask for help studying. He won’t ask for anything. In fact he’s happy that you want him to help him. (Not that he’d ever admit it but his wagging tail will)

Azul will definitely help you if you sign this contract-. He’s joking. But nothing comes for free so what do you have to offer him for one of his many study guides. Would you look at that he has the perfect study guide for the subject you’re currently on. Jade and Floyd will tell you the same thing “ Azul could help you.” Floyd sleeps in his classes and makes B’s at least. Jade does pay attention, but he’s not going to just give out his help for free either. Honestly why would you even ask them for help?!

Kalim is also trying to understand the subject he’s on in his classes. With Jamil explaining it to him. Maybe you could do a study session with them, but you are a first year so it’s not like you’d be on the same subject. Jamil is very helpful if you do try to study with them(and he has the time to help you). If Kalim remembers and understands the subject you’re on he will try his best to help you.

If it has anything to do with potions Vil might help them. Another person who is very helpful just not patient enough to explain it to you for the 5th time. Yuu is about to give him a pimple from how many times he’s explained this to them. Rook would gladly help Yuu. He’s a bit too happy to help Yuu. They didn’t even tell him what subject it was he just said Yuu looked beautiful and sat Yuu down in his room to explain everything in great detail…. By the end of the (forced) study session he will ask if Yuu wants to have a sleepover. Saying no isn’t an option Yuus bags already there and packed… Yuu would leave, but he’s giving them all the good gossip and brought their favorite snacks. It would be rude to leave. Epel is another lost cause. He does study he just didn’t study the right notes-

It’s a miracle if Yuu even gets Idia to talk to them. He’s another one of the worst people to ask to help with studying… Why would Yuu even ask him!? He just looked over his study guide once or twice called it a day and went back to gaming. Somehow is makes straight A’s and B’s. Ortho on the other hand is a literal walking encyclopedia. If Yuu wants help he will help them and his very patient. Very helpful 20/10! Though now that he’s helped Yuu how about they help him get his brother out of his room?

Malleus would love to help Yuu with homework. Definitely will tease them if it’s simple or basic things they don’t understand. Though he will help Yuu to the best of his abilities. He could never get upset with Yuu even if it’s the 23rd time he had to explain it to them. Lilia is the next best person to ask for help finding it cute Yuu sought him out for help. He’s taught Silver, Malleus, and partially Sebek everything they know… what do you mean that’s not how you do it? It’s been taught that way for centuries. Soon you’re both confused and he just teaches Yuu how he knows how to do it. Won’t be the way Yuu’s teachers want it done, but oh well! Silver will help as long as Yuu helps him stay awake. He records some of his classes and will use others notes to study. (I saw a HC about him recording his classes I love it)Since Yuu is a first year he’ll try his best to remember the subject. He is very patient if Yuu doesn’t understand it if he’s explained it over and over again.

Sebek immediately would say, “Of course you’d want me to help you study human.” He will pull out his notes and a few books. Without a doubt he will tease Yuu if they don’t understand something that basic knowledge in twst. Yuu will never live it down. Anyways Sebek took many very helpful notes if Yuu missed any or wasn’t fast enough to write them down. He has to do his best in his classes if he’s going be one of Malleus’s knights after all! Though he isn’t the most patient so give him a moment to breathe before he raises his voice. They are in the library after all and this is the 7th time he has explained this to Yuu. Honestly these four are the best out of anyone to ask for help 10/10!

You ever think that Yuu gets jealous of the main cast during the events? Especially once they meet their ‘friends’ parents. Yuu having no known way home, but constantly seeing their friends parents must irk something in them.

Just imagine when Yuu meets Epel’s grandma Marja and she starts to remind them of their own grandma. So they start talking to her just lingering a little more than everyone else around Epel’s meemaw. But once Yuu is finally away from her fetching something from the kitchen they see Epel happily laughing with his Meemaw. Yuu’s usually monotone face twitches into a frown. Though they soon push it aside that’s his grandma not yours.

Then Yuu meets Deuce’s mom Dylla. She’s even been checking up on you including the others, but somethig just feels different with the way she makes sure you’re ok. It soon starts to make Yuu miss their mom. It’s oddly painful when you have to tell Dylla goodbye. They just met her and already they don’t want to part ways with her. Yuu’s mind soon takes a slightly dark turn seeing the Shroud family interact. Growing bitter seeing how close they all are even with all the hardships they have faced. They quietly scoffed in the distance as they heard Idia’s mother tell him she loves him or his father say he’s proud of him. Yuu doesn’t know why they feel so hurt and bitter about this. Idia and Ortho’s parents are just being good parents through this very troubling time with Malleus’s Overblot… Yuu is probably just still freaked out that’s why they’re so negative… Right?

Soon they meet more and more of their ‘friends’ parents, siblings, grandparents, and so on. It just starts to feel like the universe is being cruel to them at this point. It gets even worse as Yuu forgets their loved ones faces, voices, and even a few memories with them…

Once again after every event Yuu is walking back to the dormitory with Grim curled up on their shoulders. As always the little monster clung to them. Opening the door to the newly renovated dorm they sighed seeing the three mischievous ghosts welcome them back.

“ I’m soooo happy to be home!” Grim stated.

Home? Yuu froze looking around taking in their still poor living conditions. Was this their home from now on? Do they truly have no to their actual home?… Was this all they could even call home at all? A haunted dorm in a magical school filled with mentally unstable and overpowered teens. Was this sick joke really all they have to show their in this universe?

this probably happens at one of the many unbirthday parties you get invited to after Riddle’s overblot.

freshly baked and frosted cakes are getting sliced, the tea is just right, and the roses are all painted ruby red.

so, all you need now is some nice music to liven things up - hence, appropriately opting for Short n’ Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter.

this is a grave mistake.

for starters, the album isn’t exactly PG.

you can see Ace snickering at a few lines, Trey hiding his laughter slightly better but not really, Cater gushing about how Magicammable the music is, Deuce’s ears flushing pink whenever Sabrina says something that simply can’t fly past his head.

oh, and Riddle?

he may have been a sheltered child, but he most definitely knows what Juno means. (probably through overhearing his mother say atrocious things about teen pregnancy, but still.)

so combine that word + position? his face is practically burning red, flushed all the way from his neck to his hairline.

unfortunately for you, you don’t get to play any more music for unbirthday parties. :(

unfortunately for Heartslabyul, Cater convinces you to share your spotify with him, and performs some black magic trickery(internet blackmail)to get Idia to create a one-to-one copy of spotify on his phone.

congrats! now Cay Cay’s got full control of your world’s music! I don’t see how this could go wrong!

did I mention that Cater’s a repeat listener? like the type to listen to the same song for hours on end? and probably likes to blast his music?

no one is spared.

Trey’s baking? cool, let him play some songs that totally fit the vibe! (just searches up ‘songs to bake to’ on spotify and ignores Trey’s look of horror when Cake By The Ocean starts playing.) Riddle’s studying? nice, let’s listen to some lyricless music to help him focus! (which does sound promising at first, only for Cater to stumble upon the Undertale soundtrack. Megalovania is played on repeat twelve times. Riddle is about to burst a vessel.) Ace and Deuce get into trouble? sweet, he has a full sound board for that! (it’s just a sound board with stupid sound effects he plays <\333)

Adeuce practically runs to you to beg for you to change your spotify password, but to no avail - they even try to bribe you with food from Trey, but that doesn’t work either.

Riddle can’t really do anything about it either, ‘cause there are no rules opposing this. you don’t need to check. he’s memorised all eight hundred and ten.

but hey, at least they’re not completely ruined - in fact, a few good things has come out of this.

for starters, Riddle has gotten from listening to some classical music from your world to full on punk, now! (you don’t really know where he discovered it, but he seems calmer recently, so oh well!)

Trey has discovered his affection towards true crime! (yeah you don’t really know where he started listening to those either don’t question it) It really does come in handy whenever he has to bake for long periods of time.

Ace and Deuce get way too invested in Weezer for a bit. (another mystery. things escalate when they try to get some of the first years to do their album cover poses for a photo unironically.)

how Cater convinced Idia to install the app on the others phones will forever be shrouded in secrecy.

yay you now have six people sharing one spotify account! this action will have consequences.

Savanaclaw!

similar to Heartslabyul, the first instance of you using spotify is when you decide to abuse it during book 3 to get Leona’s lazy ass to help you.

and so, you play the most grating, eardrum shattering, migraine inducing song you can humanly think of - baby shark on loop for an hour.

things go over well because Leona folds after twenty minutes and seven death threats - hooray!!!

afterwards, you don’t really use spotify much.

Leona thinks of it as the noise making app, Jack has his own PoisonPod, Ruggie’s always been more of an ambient noise kinda guy…

until Ruggie walks up to you one fine day, asking for a favour. Oh?

turns out when you blasted the-song-that-shall-not-be-named woke Leona up faster than Ruggie’s ever been able to, and you still owe him for that time he snagged you a sandwich during lunch rush, so if you could just hand other your password, shyheehee…

since then, every morning for Leona is an absolute nightmare.

It got even worse when Cheka, that insufferable little fur ball, somehow learnt the song and begged him to sing it. (Leona caved to get Cheka to shut it. It didn’t work because Cheka ended up begging him to sing it for a second time. Then a third, then a fourth, then a fifth. Suffice to say Leona wasn’t very happy.)

Ruggie can and will abuse your free spotify subscription to its fullest - also somehow getting it on his worn out phone(though thievery or bullying Idia with social interaction, I bet).

listens to those saving money and food podcasts while working, opting for someone like Odetari to listen to during warm-ups for spelldrive.

at some point, Leona just walks up to you, brows furrowed, staring you down, before asking “how much?” (To change your spotify password because he can’t take it anymore <\333)

you end up giving it to him but he can’t change it because he needs to verify it with your email, and that sounds like too much effort.

gets you spotify premium instead.

only ever listens to lo-fi.

tried to listen to something else for once but found it too noisy and switched back.

also k.k. slider, for some reason???

Jack is the last person to use your spotify, after much raving from Ace and Deuce. Admittedly, he’s pretty curious.

listens to those motivational podcasts - y’know the ones with titles like ‘Five ways You’re Holding Yourself Back In Daily Life’ yes those. Quotes them and everything.

music wise, I don’t really think Jack’s much of a music enjoyer, but he can appreciate some Fall Out Boy from time to time.

like seriously, he could go from metal to pop to break beat to rap in less than an hour.

plus, he’s made at least forty different playlists by now, which has garnered multiple complaints from the other members abusing using your spotify account.

inviting you to his VIP lounge, bringing out a contract, face flushing pink when you started snickering at it.

a full document, written entirely in legalese, penning down what time he could use your account, how many playlists he could make, etc etc…

you just give him your password and leave. (as well as snagging a free drink on your way out. score!)

azul probably only has one playlist, comprising of mostly just jazz - Micheal Bublé and the like, classy stuff he can play at the lounge. (secretly has a soft spot for Laufey and beabadoobee. almost got caught listening to them by the Tweels once, fully dropping his phone on the floor, fumbling with it for a good twenty seconds before shoving it into his pocket. Jade wishes he’d filmed it.)

Scarabia!

you first used spotify in front of them during the after Jamil overblotted party.

playing fun music is necessary for a good party, after all!

and things turn out pretty well!! you play the all-time classic macarena and it’s a smash hit!

you even end up teaching the Scarabian students how to dance the macarena and they even form a conga line!

in fact, it’s such a hit that Kalim keeps inviting you to his parties to play more music for them!

you end up teaching Scarabia a wide array of 2000’s dances, all to their respective songs.

Jamil eventually asks for your spotify because he’s aware you can’t show up to every single party Kalim hosts.

he creates a playlist to play at each party, with the appropriate songs.

it takes Jamil finding out that Azul uses your spotify account for the Monstro Lounge to really pique his interest and start using it for himself.

listens to hip-hop tracks if he wants to practise his street dancing.

probably listens to those cleaning hack podcasts too… and maybe those parenting a toddler ones too, as well as the psychology ones.

tries a lot of the parenting ‘hacks’ on Kalim. pleasantly surprised when a few work.

like Trey, yet another true crime listener.

he probably falls down a rabbit hole of bright, cheery K-pop - Red Velvet, TWICE, Boy Next Door…

got so sad when he learnt he couldn’t collect photo cards or albums, but settled for printing out photos of the album covers and using them as makeshift posters instead.

masters way too many choreographies, but hey, Jamil’s mostly fine with it - after all, Kalim can’t cause too much trouble for him if he’s just dancing in one of the many dance studios that Scarabia houses. 

Kalim almost immediately follows like twenty different artists, causing complaints from the other like eleven people using your account.

In total, there are now thirteen people sharing your singular account!

I have two Roman Empires. They surround Reuben and Gantu. (Third one is in the reblogs!)

My Roman Empire is how Reuben literally stopped being rude to everybody when Lilo gave him a name. A NAME. From the 65 episodes, all those insults he spewed out… that snarky attitude he gave everybody… all the hurt feelings he caused ended at this moment. You never see him being mean to Lilo, Gantu or Stitch ever again. He literally considers something as simple as being given a name affection.

He went the entire show without a name, just being called 625. Meanwhile, if not all, most of the other experiments had a name. Pretty sure it made Reuben feel that he was irrelevant, forgotten and most of all: failed. Perhaps that's ONE of the reasons he STAYED so rude throughout the show and like for half the Leroy and Stitch movie; the time he was simply a number?

My second Roman Empire is about how Gantu… this intimidating, strict, ruthless guy

...did not like being evil. He was seeking emotional validation.

"Am I good enough?" I can only imagine him asking himself that after hearing Hamsterviel, Reuben or his father's negative voice in his head. I don’t care if Reuben was “struggling too”, he still didn’t have to project so much.

When Gantu got vulnerable with Reuben in episode 28, he talked about how his father was very authoritarian and strict. He also talked about how his peers looked down on him. Can't imagine how bad he wanted to prove his daddy and peers wrong. He truly did try. It's awful because he even talks about how his life would have been better if he would have stuck with his girlfriend. Deep down, being the captain isn't what he wanted. He wanted to live a normal childhood. Sacrificed it, though, all for his dad.

His first attempt at being what his father pushed him to be was under the Grand Councilwoman. However, after the chaos he and stitch had, she fired him. This is why he had such a hate for stitch throughout the entire show. Not because of selfishness, not because he was evil, but because stitch ruined the pathway that gave him that sense of superiority and validation.

Throughout the show, no thanks to plot armor and gags and jokes, he is constantly failing to capture experiments AND is being ridiculed. It's by everybody- Lilo, Stitch, Reuben, random people. Sometimes it's physical, sometimes it's verbal. It definitely has an effect. Might as well be physical and verbal abuse because of how often and harsh it is.

It’s not normal to call yourself a failure because you don’t know where a street is.

There’s this episode where he prefers to be a guy named “Uncle Chester”. While he’s Chester, he doesn’t have to worry about Hamsterviel’s ruthlessness and doesn’t have to be bullied every single episode. He was delusional as Chester but at least he was happy. He pointed out how he was unhappier as Gantu.

But

There is nobody that affects him as much as Hamsterviel does.

I've ALWAYS been asking myself, "why doesn't he just squish Hamsterviel? Hamsterviel is all bark no bite!" Hamsterviel is the most demanding, controlling, manipulating, obnoxious, and most of all- DEGRADING boss that Gantu has had. However…

Could it be that he resorts to Hamsterviel and never hurts him because it's another chance to prove himself to a figure like his father?

He sees toxicity as another chance to prove himself. Doesn’t matter all the suffering he does.

As long as the job gets done, right?

But I mean, hey.

Gantu is hot.

Ok but imagine if at the end when the mirror sends Yuu home their alarm starts blaring out annoying beeps. They groggily get up looking around their room confused. Everything looks the same. They’re even in their pajamas too. Soon their eyes land on their reflection. A bandage was wrapped around Yuu’s head; confused they unwrapped the pale bandage. Soon greeted with a scare that resembled disfigured markings. It looked oddly like one of the dorms especially the one they favored.

Once Yuu was finally awake, they soon found their parents in the kitchen. Turns out they had gotten knocked out on the road by a car. Thankfully they were fine enough to come back home. But Yuu had missed the first week of school. Sadly their parents forced them to go to school seeing that Yuu was fine and not disoriented. Much to their dismay of missing their parents being stuck in NRC!!… or so they think. They were knocked out so it must’ve been a dream… right?

Once they arrived Yuu looked around their old school walking through the hallways only to notice several familiar faces. Yuu couldn’t even believe it. There they all were. Ace, Deuce, Jack, Epel, Ortho, and Sebek. It felt odd not seeing their colorful hair. Well this version of Ortho had bright blue hair. Ace had brown eyes. Deuce had black hair. Jack’s hair was more blond now. Epel had dark brown hair now. Sebek had very light brown hair. It was very odd. Yuu almost wouldn’t have recognized them if it weren’t for the bickering of Ace and Deuce. Yuu instinctually came over to them to break the two up before things escalated into some unforeseen comedic shenanigans.

“…?” The group looked around you in confusion seeing Yuu come over only to awkwardly stop themselves realizing this wasn’t “Their friends”. Soon awkwardly rushing away.

“…. Well that was weird…” Ace shrugged.

“Yeah… you know they look kind of familiar.”Deuce commented.

“I think they’re that miracle kid who survived getting hit by a car. There was a whole article written about the accident.” Ortho stated.

“… Damn that sounds cool!” Epel stated

“… How would being hit by a car sound cool!?” Sebek asked concerned.

“… I agree… “ Jack nodded giving Epel a judgmental look.

“… STOP JUDGIN ME!! Ya know how many people survive bein hit by a car!?” Epel stated as he soon tried to defend himself from everyone’s judgmental and concerned looks.

Walking down the hallway Yuu noticed many more familiar faces. It still was odd seeing Riddle with black hair, Malleus with no horns, and any of the beast men with human ears. Yuu now felt out of place being back in the real world. They sat alone outside at break under a tree with an open book to hide their phone with as they ate a snack. Soon a grey cat with a large tuff of white fur on their chest. They looked a bit too fat to be a stray, but were too dirty to not to have been abandoned. The fat cat with bright blue eyes purred nuzzling their hand with food in it. The cat reminded Yuu of grim. Begrudgingly Yuu gave the cat some of their food. The cat devoured all of their food before innocently looking back up at them.

“… Mrow?” The cat mewed now pawing at their hand for more food.

“… You’re exactly like grim.” They chuckled scratching behind the cats ear before it ran away seeing that they would no longer get any food from Yuu.

Floyd Leech wasn’t exactly subtle about his affections. If he liked you, you knew it. If he really liked you, you were getting lifted, squished, teased, and dragged around like a personal toy. For most people, it was a lot.

But for you?

It was everything.

Because back home—on Earth—hugs were rare. Your family wasn’t bad, exactly. Just... cold. Distant. Not the kind to ruffle your hair or pull you into a sleepy cuddle on the couch. Not the kind to hold your hand when you were sad or lean against you just because.

And here was Floyd, invading your space from day one like he’d always belonged there.

At first, it overwhelmed you. All the sudden touch—arms slung around shoulders, hands tugging at your clothes, fingers flicking your forehead. But instead of shrinking away, you found yourself... craving it.

Needing it.

Even when he was teasing you, it felt like warmth in your chest. Like something had been frozen for a long time and was finally starting to thaw.

One lazy afternoon in Octavinelle, you sat on the couch in the lounge, head tilted back, eyes closed. Floyd plopped down beside you with zero warning, sprawling dramatically across your lap.

“Eeeeeh? You look all gloomy again,” he drawled, staring up at you upside-down. “You gonna cry or something?”

You blinked down at him. “No, just tired.”

He didn’t move. If anything, he melted further into you, head resting heavy against your thigh. One hand lazily reached up, fingers toying with yours.

You stiffened slightly at first—then let him. The casual intimacy made your heart squeeze, but you didn’t pull away.

Floyd’s sharp gaze flicked up to your face. “You always get all stiff when I touch you,” he said, tone unusually serious. “But you never stop me. Weird, huh?”

You swallowed, not meeting his eyes. “I’m not used to it.”

“Huh?” He propped himself up on one elbow. “Used to what?”

“…Being touched. My family wasn’t really... affectionate.”

Floyd stared at you. Not laughing. Not smirking. Just watching.

“Like, no hugs and stuff?” he asked after a pause.

You nodded.

“…That suuucks,” he finally muttered, as if personally offended. “No wonder you always look all surprised when I hug you. You’re like—‘whoa! what’s this??’” He mimicked your expression, then flopped back down dramatically.

You huffed a laugh.

He was quiet for a moment. Then—

“Hey, shrimpy.”

“Yeah?”

“Wanna try it?”

“…Try what?”

“Hugs. All the time. No reason. Just ‘cause.”

Your breath caught. Slowly, you nodded.

Floyd sat up, wrapped his long arms around you, and pulled you into a tight squeeze. His chin rested on your shoulder, hair tickling your cheek.

“Like this?” he murmured.

You couldn’t speak. You just buried your face in his chest, fingers gripping the back of his jacket like you were afraid he’d disappear.

Floyd didn’t say anything else. He didn’t need to.

From that day on, you never had to ask for affection. He gave it freely, generously, with all the intensity that was so him. And every touch, every nudge, every sudden arm slung over your shoulders, felt like rewriting a part of you that had gone too long without love.

It started with the small things.

Floyd wasn’t any less chaotic—he still skipped class, still dragged freshmen around by the collar, still threatened to squeeze anyone who annoyed him.

But there was a softness now. A strange, quiet shift that only those who knew him best could spot.

Azul noticed it first.

“Floyd,” he said one afternoon, eyeing the scene before him with a furrowed brow. “Why are you… braiding their hair?”

Floyd glanced up, lazily twisting another lock of your hair between his fingers.

“‘Cause I wanna, duh,” he grinned. “Shrimpy said no one ever played with their hair before. So I’m makin’ up for lost time.”

Azul stared. You were seated on the floor between Floyd’s knees, shoulders relaxed and eyes half-lidded in contentment. If Azul didn’t know better, he’d have said you were about to fall asleep right there in Floyd’s lap.

That was new.

“…I see,” Azul said, adjusting his glasses. “Just don’t skip your shift again. We have guests at seven.”

“Uh-huh,” Floyd hummed, clearly not listening. He patted your head twice—gently, as if memorizing the shape of it. “Shrimpy first, work later.”

Azul opened his mouth to protest, then stopped. There was no menace in Floyd’s voice. No biting sarcasm. Just something warm and unfamiliar.

Jade, meanwhile, had been watching this change with quiet fascination.

Later that night, while Azul reviewed the lounge’s earnings and Floyd dozed off with his head on your shoulder in the back booth, Jade leaned over and said softly, “I think he’s happier.”

Azul glanced over the rim of his teacup. “Hm?”

“Floyd,” Jade said, smiling faintly. “He’s been more even-tempered. He hasn’t threatened to sink anyone in days.”

“That’s… unsettling.”

“And he lets them hold his hand.”

Azul choked slightly on his tea.

Floyd Leech, who bit people for touching him wrong, letting someone hold his hand?

“You think they’re—?” Azul asked, eyes narrowing.

“In some way,” Jade mused. “Floyd doesn’t do anything halfway.”

Azul’s gaze drifted back toward the two of you. Your hand was loosely linked with Floyd’s, his fingers curled around yours even in sleep. You looked peaceful.

And Floyd, for once, didn’t look like a live wire about to snap.

Azul exhaled. “If this makes him easier to work with, I won’t complain.”

Jade chuckled, eyes gleaming. “Oh, I wouldn’t say easier. But definitely more tender.”

Later, as you gently brushed Floyd’s bangs from his face, you murmured, “You okay with them watching us like that?”

“Mhm,” Floyd mumbled without opening his eyes. “Lemme show off. I like bein’ yours.”

You smiled. “I like being yours too.”

He cracked one eye open, grin sharp but affectionate.

“Then I’m gonna keep touchin’ you until you never feel lonely again.”

And true to his word—he did.
