Summary:

Lucifer had learned to expect a lot of things when returning home to the hotel. He’d learned to expect Husk behind the bar, regardless of the hour, either with a drink in hand or passed out against the counter. He’d learned to expect Angel Dust half-naked or worse in the lobby, moaning and groaning about whatever atrocity Valentino had put him through that day whilst combing unspeakable things out of his fur. He’d learned to expect Charlie’s unrelenting enthusiasm, greeting him each time he returned as though she hadn’t seen him in decades.

What he hadn’t learned to expect, what he never would have expected, was to find Alastor on his knees, head in hands, crying.

When Lucifer happens upon Alastor in his most vulnerable moment, it comes time for a turning point in their relationship.

Just an FYI for anyone following Take My Broken Hand: It’s still in the works and I’ll 100% be picking up on it again soon! I noticed that I was becoming burned out when I was trying to work on it, so I’m taking a brief break to work on a different standalone Hazbin fic, which I plan to finish and post in its entirety rather than uploading as a WIP. Once this fic is finished, I’ll be refocusing on Take My Broken Hand and the rest of the Found in Flame Trilogy! My goal is to have the next chapter up sometime in March or April, depending on how quickly I finish my other WIP and the workload of my soon-to-commerce university course 😊

Writers! My cousin is having a baby and her husband just introduced me to this app called Kinder, which is essentially Tinder but for baby names. You enter your surname and then swipe left or right on different first names. The concept is cool on its own but my first thought was how useful it could be for choosing character names! The default/free version uses names from the US but you can purchase sets from other countries for a pretty low price. It can’t hurt to check it out if you’re like me and constantly struggle with picking the right name for your characters!

(You can change the surname in your settings so easy to use for multiple characters!)
