SVSSS fic recs - UPDATED DEC 21

I decided to make several rec lists this year. Since @veliseraptor asked for SVSSS recs, I’m starting with these. I’m not good with descriptions but I can guarantee that everything on this list is amazing.

Also I tried to sort it into pairings, most of which inlcude some version of Binghe and some verison of SQQ, but sometimes the lines between bingmei and bingge and even sy and sj are made blurry by fics, so please take this division with a grain of salt.

EDIT: I originally comliped this rec list in March 2021 and am now updating it in December 2021. For those fics I’ve added now I put (NEW) in the list.

After self-destructing, SY comes back as rogue cultivator Peerless Cucumber. He and LBH start a casual relationship while LBH pines for his “dead” shizun. Cue SY being jealous of himself (that gotta be one of my favorite tropes). SJ also makes appearance (with hints of qijiu).

my favorite fic in this fandom. LBG resurrects SJ and tries to change him to his liking.

I love all identity reveal fics in SVSSS.

God sqh reveal is funny because it's like if your weird coworker tells you one day that they created the whole universe and showed you proof. I think I will immediately book an appointment with my psychiatrist.

Airplane/cucumber reveal to each other is great for reading about SY complaining about PIDW and shitting on Airplane. Modern au, where they already know each other but just not their online usernames, is so great too. Like my childhood best friend writes shitty porn or my innocent and shy roommate is airplane!

SQQ transmigrator reveal can be so sad. Like YQY realizing that his SJ is gone, it makes good angst fics.

(Not necessarily an identity reveal but) System reveal causing LBH to be stressed if SQQ loved him or just with him because he has to.

Liu Qingge finally coaxes Shen Yuan into a hand to hand fight with him- LQG is obviously the more powerful one in a straight fight and SY’s lizard brain kicks in. He defaults to sibling fighting instincts. When LQG finally pins him, SY licks him, and I mean really licks him. Like full tongue, wet and slimy, right on his pretty face. SY doesn’t even register what he’s done, but LQG leaps five feet in the air like a startled cat and quickly scurries away, so much blood running south he’s about to faint. The next day SY asks about continuing their bout and LQG very firmly declines.

SVSSS Au

Shen Yuan transmigrated as a baby before canon, either left in forest by someone o born from a magical plant.

He survives only because he was found by the previous Qian Cao Peak Lord, a few months before ascension.

The Peak Lord then put Mu QingFang in charge of taking care of Baby!Shen Yuan until he could put him for adoption. But MQF bonds with Baby!Shen Yuan and decides "this is MY CHILD" once he is Peak Lord.

The twist? Shen Yuan looks like the lovechild of YQY and SQQ, more noticible the older he gets. So he hides him in Qian Cao and swear his disciples and martial sibiling in silence.

Only Wei QingWei (because I ship it) knows - among the others Peak Lords- and is co-parenting Shen Yuan.

Then SQQ qi deviation happens and is taken to Qian Cao instead of being left in the Bamboo House.

The innevitable descovery happens.

You’d think that omegaverse aus would work really well for SVSSS, what with PIDW being a shitty internet porn series with 10,000 variations of sex pollen, but if you really try to rework the whole universe for abo you’ll find that it would actually crumble the very foundations of the series. This is due to the simple fact that the entire plot is spurred by Su Xiyan’s pregnancy, with her giving birth to Binghe alone while Tianlang-jun is imprisoned, but if the series was omegaverse there is no way in all hell that notorious dom sugar daddy masc Su Xiyan wouldn’t be the alpha to submissive and breedable omega Tianlang-jun. for those who know me, you know that I am a big fan of greek mythology, so when the epic saga by Jorege Rivera-Herrans came out I couldn't help but fall madly in love with it, his music accompanied and inspired me while I was working, and now that this long journey is about to end I couldn't help but leave a tribute to thank him for all the work he has done. he couldn't have left us a better christmas present under the tree! thanks again for everything.
