This is going to haunt me until I see that TikTok in my FYP… I got a TikTok and I haven’t seen it yet… this is information I MUST find… this is winner territory I can feel it…
If you see my content anywhere but posted directly please @ me on TikTok (lialcross) because I can’t properly feed my ego without it
Damian is an artist.
Damian being an artist is so dear to me in many ways, he can use this creative outlet to show how he views things, people, himself in such a deeply vulnerable way without having to say it.
Give me a Damian who paints his family portraits for their birthdays or just for himself, give me Wayne brothers each painted in Damian's style but distinctly different from each other. Different elements are highlighted for each person.
Give me Dick painted in chunky, light strokes reminiscent to van Gogh.
Give me Bruce painted in colors just off from being black and white.
Give me Jason so desaturated or monotoned that when Damian uses color for his eyes they almost glow green against everything.
Give me Cass unshaded and abstract.
Give me Duke painted in the brightest of bright colors against the darkest of shadows, bonus points if glow-in-the-dark paints were used.
But Tim? Tim has always been terribly difficult to draw, Damian just can't get his face right.
He won't let Tim best him in this way, it's unacceptable, but Damian will not let anyone see his artwork not at it's best. He does everything he can just not to draw Tim's face—his favorite is to spiral Tim's face, maybe he'll leave an eye or paint whatever flower he thinks best represents his brother that day right in the middle.
And Tim just loves it.
The first time Damian painted Tim and gave him the piece, he was uncertain of how it'd be received though he'd deny this with every breath in his lungs. He was prepared for Tim to hate it, to get angry that he distorted his face in such a way—and he could see the same thoughts on the faces of everyone who saw Damian present it to Tim. Why wouldn't he hate it? It'd be disrespectful to anyone, especially if the artist and the muse had such a disastrous relationship. He couldn't be blamed, but Damian was prepared to blame him regardless.
Tim was silent for what felt like hours when he laid eyes on the portrait Damian had painted of him. He hadn't expected any portrait Damian painted of him, if he ever painted one of Tim at all, to make him feel so... seen? Understood? Viewed in a way Tim could have never described?
If Tim cried? That's none of your business.

I wanted to say your design of Superman's Daughter, Laurel Lane-Kent, is really beautiful! I can see her being a fun older sister to the Supertwins, Otho-Ra and Osu-Ral ^^
Anyway, what do you think her Superhero name would be like? You talked a lot about her relationship with her dad, What about Lois? How does Laurel bond with her mom?
ALSO ALSO!!!
What do you think her relationship is with other Supers/ Steels are like? (Kara, Kon, John Henry Irons, and Natasha Irons)
I think it is so cool that, when Clark got a daughter, he named her after his biological mom (Lara Lor-Van), it kind of parallels the canonical fact that Kon named his Gemworld adopted baby-daughter after their mother (Martha Kent)
Sorry, if this came out as rambling, I'm just really happy to see discussion of Clark and Lois being parents to a daughter. In my head, they were meant to be girl-parents (parents to a daughter). I hope you have an awesome week!
In the tags where I posted Laurel's design, I had mentioned that I think she'd go by the superhero name "Power-Girl," as Supergirl is used by Kara, because I find the (currently) powerless child of Superman to use such a name incredibly funny. I tried to find a different name I'd think she'd fit best, but Power-Girl was the only one to really stick.
For Laurel's relationship with her mom, I think they'd be quite close. Lois is known to do some pretty crazy shit just because she knows she'll have a 6-foot-something alien to catch her and a very loud personality, I think it'd rub off on her daughter whether subconsciously or in a direct attempt to copy Lois. While Clark, Kon, and everyone else are off fighting aliens and this week's supervillain, Laurel and Lois would have a lot of time to bond without them even with work and school. Of course, while designing/making Laurel her relationship with Kon was always at the forefront of my mind. He's her older brother (Who in come continuities got the name Abomination in the house of El) and there's not a thought in my mind that Laurel wouldn't idolize him to an extent. She'd drop anything if it meant she'd be hanging out with Kon and any of his friends (because they'd let her do fun things like run around in a costume and fight people).
For the others, I'm not very well versed on Superman's adjacent family members. I kind of know Kara from when I was younger and watched a lot of the Supergirl show, but that's about it and you know how TV shows love to mess up characters. I'm not confident enough to make a decision about how they would interact with her.
I started working on Laurel when I saw people discussing Laura Kent in the Congratulations comic and found very little information on her because she was an 'imaginary' daughter. I don't know why they let them be girl-parents so many times only to make them boy-parents instead. There are too many black-haired, blue-eyed boys fighting crime, let a black-haired, blue-eyed girl do it instead. Anyway, thank you so much for the compliment! I love to see people ramble at me because it gives me more to work with when coming up with a response (I've heard I'm a very dry texter), so lengthy character messages are on my good list.
#Any familial relationship Laurel would/could have will be impacted by their relationship with Kon and how they treat him#(For example while thinking about Laurel I've often heard her correct someone calling Kon “Just a clone”)#so really every dynamic could shift depending on the continuity of lore one would be grabbing from.#superman#dc comics#kal el#clark kent#lois lane#kon el

Sometimes I mistake depictions of Bernard for Lonnie
#If your drawing Bernard with a mullet I just think it's Lonnie#He's been shown as both blond and ginger (ginger is his real color though don't believe the nonbelievers)#dc comics#anarky#lonnie machin#moneyspider#I keep writing posts about Lonnie but im not sorry about that#If I get all of this energy out of me sooner rather than later maybe I'll return to normal

In Anarky's short comic lines, Lonnie is shown to answer questions in a chatroom-based website/program. In the late 1990s.
So, what I'm getting at here is that the natural progression of Lonnie could look similar to streamer personalities that go over current world events, breaking down the news while explaining and answering questions about why and how modern media is lying and sharing carefully constructed propaganda. A modern Lonnie, a real modern Lonnie where he constantly tip-toes the line between good acts and neutral acts with none of this 'he is a criminal!!!1!' bogus, could very easily capitalize on a very real and very effective system that we can already see and consume on a daily basis. Pre-General or Post-General or both, it doesn't matter, Lonnie has a voice and there's no way he wouldn't use it to its full potential.
#This is the true extended plotline to the Unternet#two steps ahead#he is always two steps ahead#Streamer Lonnie haunts my dreams#(Various internet crimes commited by Lonnie) look at my streamer dawg we're going to jail#dc comics#lonnie machin#anarky#moneyspider

Dami and Tim bonding AU
Damian: *walking into the Manor library and slamming the door open*
Damian: Todd, I require your assistance.
Jason: *drops his book, leading to the spine to be cracked*
Jason: *does about a thousand breathing exercises because he absolutely doesn’t want to lash out at his lil brother*
Jason: What is it?
Damian: *stares at him with a serious expression*
Damian: How do I bond with Drake? I wish to… acquire his allegiance.
Jason: *smirks*
Jason: Treat him like a scared street cat.
Damian: I shall. Thank you for your service.
Damian: *turns around and walks out of the library*
Jason: *baffled that Damian thought he was being serious*
-~*~-
Damian: *slowly enters the sitting room Tim is lounging in*
Tim: *looks up confused before going back to his phone*
Damian: *proud for not chasing Tim away and carefully pushes a bottle of Zesti towards Tim while still keeping his distance*
Tim: *looks up again and at the bottle*
Tim: Thank you?
Damian: *nods proudly and takes a few more steps forward until he can gently sit down on the couch*
Tim: *watches him and turns back to his phone*
Damian: *slowly extends his hands towards Tim’s nose so he could sniff it*
Tim: *looks at the hand in front of him and opens his mouth to speak*
Damian: Shhh.
Tim: *wants to say something*
Damian: *sees his opportunity and softly runs his fingers through Tim’s hair*
Tim: *freezes as his brain short circuits*
Damian: Good Drake. Shhh. It’s okay.
Damian: *continues to pet and scratch Tim’s head until he is half asleep with his head in Damian’s lap*
Jason: *walks in and freezes at the sight*
Jason: What the-
Damian: For once your advice was useful, Todd. Now be quiet. We do not wish to disturb Drake.

People need to remember how teachers put up three different world leaders' political promises without naming names and letting the kids pick which one would be the best for the people.
Without fail, almost every single person would have picked Hitler because his promises sounded so good on paper. Personable evils should be worrying to everyone, leaders will never be innocent or good because to lead is to be powerful, and to be powerful is to be corrupt. The belief that history will repeat itself if we're not careful is why History is taught the way it is, and we are watching history repeat itself in real time for the same reasons almost verbatim.
Yo, correct me if I am wrong please, but didn't Hitler rise to power because he promised to fix the German economy and people really liked that so they looked past everything else he was doing??? Like exactly what's happening in America right now???
So many people said they voted for Trump, put a truly evil person in power, because he said he'd fix the economy, and a little voice in my head is going, "Isn't that what happened with fucking Hitler??"
But I've seen no one point that out so maybe I'm miss remembering???????

If Superman Had a Daughter
Something I find interesting is how often Clark was given a daughter pre-new 52, only to end up with a son, Jon Kent. I think there have been a lot of interesting depictions of daughters, but one that's stuck out to me is the depiction of Laura Kent, an imaginary(?) daughter of Lois and Clark who didn't develop powers until her teenage years introduced in the eighties. And, while I do not mind Jon, I think Laura's short-lived backstory is leagues more interesting to me.
Of course, there have been more daughters, and for me, who likes the idea of the Supers being a relatively small family compared to other superhero families, I think Lois and Clark should only have one child (Kon is still a constant, but he is more or less the child between Clark and Lex).
It explores the relationship of how a superpowered father would react to his powerless half-Kryptonian daughter navigating the world around her. And, as all children do, their daughter would 100% yearn for the cape. It's a normal parent-daughter conflict despite the absurdity of involving superpowers, and curiosity about a world you're actively being told not to join, natural childhood rebellion. Naturally, if Superman and Lois Lane had a 'powerless' child, the line of dialogue, "Are you Bat-Training our daughter?" was a forethought in combining the various scraped daughters of the Supers. The Supers are close with the Bats, and she'd be the same age as Damian, Supersons hijinks would ensue despite everything.
#I feel like she'd still have regenetive capabilities because she is half-kryptonian#But it's less than she will when her powers develop#All of her scars fade within months of acquiring them#it doesn't matter the severity#(While Supergirl is taken by Kara I think it'd be funny for the powerless child to go by Power-Girl)#Gotham Welcomes You
