Feeling in the mood to write about magic. After all, can’t have a fantasy story without it, now can we?

I’m not saying that Crowley can be replaced, but...
How awesome would it be if the next King of Hell was this old fan favourite?
Sam never said anything about a Queen of Hell.

Stan Lee Will Never Be Gone
Centuries from now, school kids will be studying the works of Stan Lee in their classrooms the same way kids today study Shakespeare, because like William Shakespeare, this was a man who has helped shape the culture the very world itself.
“Hulked out” will be an house old phrase to describe someone loosing their temper and teachers will be explaining to their clueless students how the term first came to be.
Kids will run home from school, excited to tell their parents that the saying: “with great power comes great responsibility” came from Stan Lee.
Museums will contain the earliest of Stan Lee’s comics inside glass cases, with plaques above them explaining the historical significance behind every issue.
Stan Lee festivals will take place annually, celebrating his accomplishments by screening the original Marvel Films where viewers would be keeping their eyes peeled for every Stan Lee cameo to appear on the screen (or whatever they’ll use to watch movies in the future).
historians will study his life’s works, and enthusiasts will recreate modern adaptations of the Marvel Universe just as modern portrayals of Romeo and Juliet are made today.
Stan Lee’s stories and characters will be told and retold long after all of us are dead and forgotten by history. We will all be lost to the world someday, but Stan Lee will never be gone.

Avenger 4 Prediction
Slightly off topic from my page but I had a dream that I saw the upcoming Avengers Movie. Won’t go into the whole thing, but there was one scene in particular that left me completely heartbroken. Please note that I have never read the comics, so forgive my inaccuracies to the original source material.
Here it is:
It’s the final battle, and all Marvel heroes from the films are assembled. They have a plan to defeat Thanos and to restore the rest of the universe and Tony Stark is key to this plan. Thanos knows this however, so he sets all of his effort to destroy him; Iron Man is after all the one person Thanos considers his greatest threat (Marvel Studios confirmed this).
During the battle, Thanos see’s Tony’s suit flying overhead and shoots it out of the sky. The Avengers watch it go down in horror and double their efforts to get to him through the opposing army... But Thanos reaches him first. They engage in single combat for a while with the mad titan taking more hits than he can swing, then his expression becomes truly murderous. With the gauntlet clenched, Thanos smashes his fist against Tony’s arc reactor and lets loose the deadly force of the Power Stone with enough energy to destroy a city. The suit crumbles beneath it’s attack, goes limp, and then falls to the ground with a searing hole going clear through his chest.
“You were a worthy opponent,” Thanos says gently, kneeling down next to his fallen adversary. “But you were never meant to win.” Laboured and shallow breaths are his only response at first as he turns to walk away, but then:
“I know,” says Steve Rogers. “I’m just the guy laying down on the wire.” Baffled and enraged, Thanos rips off the Iron Man mask, revealing non other than Captain America himself: the decoy.
Boy, I’m sure glad I’m not one of the writers cause that’s exactly how I would have done it, and it would have broken me.

It’s fall, it’s reading week, and it’s glorious! What a perfect time to write.
P.S. No, that is not a wooden stake for killing vampires, that is a pencil.

When you actually spend your day writing instead of browsing through social media
I used to be really bad at getting sidetracked during my writing time. Now I am writing every day.

Show of Hands
Who wishes you could just wrap your characters up in warm blankets and let them be happy for the rest of their lives, but know that you can’t because the story has to go on and the plot you’ve planned out is going to cause them a lot of pain?

Well, since this is something that actually happens, Timothy goes downstairs to investigate noise in his house, and is amazed to discover that [THIS SENTENCE HAS BEEN CENSORED FOR SPOILERS] which at first he thinks has to be a dream until [THIS SENTENCE HAS BEEN CENSORED FOR SPOILERS]. This is the point when he finally begins to learn the truth about [THIS SENTENCE HAS BEEN CENSORED FOR SPOILERS]. Crazy, right?
How does your OC react to an unexplained noise in the middle of the night?

What You Should NEVER Say To A Writer
Friends: Hey, you ready? We’re leaving in like 5 minutes.
Me: Sorry I can’t go. I wanna finish this chapter tonight.
Friends: So? Just write it tomorrow.

Answer 1: Well, considering that Gandalf, Thorin, Fili, Kili, Dori, Nori, Ori, Oin, Gloin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Durin, Thrain, and Thror are all Nordic names borrowed from Norse mythology, I’d say it’s all fair game. However, I’d avoid using overly well known names like say, Loki, Thor, Odin, or any of the above listed for obvious reasons. Out of curiosity, what’s the name?
Answer 2: As many as you want, it’s your world.
~questions I’m asking while worldbuilding
- is it too obvious to steal this Nordic name, or is it an obscure enough reference that it doesn’t even matter?
- how many animals can be Were-ified?

How to write a first draft
STEP ONE: Write
STEP TWO: That’s it: just write. Don’t stop to edit each sentence, don’t backtrack and rewrite every little detail, and especially don’t ponder over the right word for a whole hour only to get side tracked online while looking it up. Trust me, you will not be happy with your draft when you are done, but that’s what editing is for, and you can’t edit a manuscript that hasn’t been written yet, so get on it and finish that first draft.
STEP THREE: Didn’t you hear me? Stop reading this and get writing.
