Just got out the cinema and yeah I liked it. I haven't seen Days and Weeks in a while so I can't say how it stacks up to them but as a standalone it's quite good. I don't know if it's one of my favourite zombie movies but it's far from being the worst one.
Also I loved the use of that 1915 recording of the Rudyard Kipling poem 'Boots' in the trailers and one scene in the film. It's geuinely so haunting and works so well for the film.
I finally got all my exams done today so I decided to celebrate, the only way I know how.
By going to see 28 Years Later in the cinema on it's day of release here in Ireland. I'll update y'all on what I think of it later.

Worst birthday gift ever.
The thing is, the exam is history. I like history but the history exam is just essays. I have to write three 5-page essays (plus 1 mini-essay) in 2 hours and 50 minutes. I can write a good history essay but not three of them in less than three hours!

Omg I remember seeing this ad whenever I'ld put on certain dvds as a kid.
Interesting to think about how piracy isn't thought of as big a deal as it used to be, likely due to the advent of various different streaming services that you have to pay for in order to access their content.
Anti-piracy ad from 2004

Today is a good day. Not only is it the start of Pride Month but I also learned that the trailer for Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein was released and it looks so good! Can't wait for that film to come out!
Also happy Pride Month everyone!

Decided to make the same meme but for another 80s horror movie whose practical effects I love.

I love the effects in The Thing so much! They are absolutely incredible and the best practical effects in any horror movie ever imo.

I'm rewatching the Defunctland video on Adventure Thru Inner Space and the bit where Miracle from Molecules is being played over footage of planes spraying Agent Orange in Vietnam is genuinely haunting. Kevin is truly a master of his craft.

Happy 70th Birthday Kermit! We should make this a national holiday

Can we get a big round of applause to one of the most iconic characters of all time? He’s been through so many muppet antics and I think it’s time for some appreciation
You’re doing great, Kermit. Jim would be so proud :)
