How do you know you’re gonna regret the decision you’re making in the moment?

Life is so short.
You don’t realise this statement unless someone close to you passes away.
Maybe your cousin wanted to go to the new café tomorrow, but her tomorrow never came. Your brother had his football tournament in 2 weeks, he didn’t make it to one.
These materialistic things such as height, weight, money, wealth, looks, social media, trends… nothing matters anymore!
Indeed, nothing comes before or after a human life.
Life is so short.
this doesn’t hit you unless you’re begging god on your knees to take all your wealth and everything - just to bring that one person back to life.
Death tears you apart. So yes - “Life is so short” to make you realise that nothing matters more than the people you love.

At the end of the day, it’s always only you.
Your friends, family, partner and colleagues, all just play a role in your life and leave.
And when you lie in your bed at dawn, it’s just you and your thoughts.
No one is coming to save you. It’s only you.

There are 3 versions of you
- one that is known by the world
- one that is known by your close ones
- and one that only you yourself know. No one knows that part of you. And that is who you actually are.
Raw, wild, authentic and just pure.

Being “overly nice and good” will get you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
Just give the same energy you receive. Don’t expect people to have the same heart as yours.

Your childhood and upbringing mostly influence the person you grow up to be and I couldn’t agree more with this.
Sometimes you don’t choose to be the way you are, but it’s because of the way you were raised. A lot of us are quick to judge but fail to understand “how and why” Is a person the way they are. You never know where they come from, what they’ve been through. Home is where it all starts.
You’re insecure - never got appreciation at home.
Afraid to lose something - people abandoned you.
Scared of being “too happy” - happiness was always accompanied by a horrendous aftermath.
Struggle to show affection - no one showed affection at home.
Struggle to express - never allowed to speak your mind
“Your home is where your peace is “ - is what they say, but it isn’t true for everyone. Maybe home is the place you wanna escape from.
Maybe your home was never what it was supposed to be.

How do you trust? How do you trust someone when you know they can leave? How can you trust something that can end as quickly as it has begun? How can you trust something when trusts are meant to be broken?

Lately I have learnt that the most difficult thing to do is live in the present.
We’re somehow always thinking about our past and focusing on “what could’ve happened?”, “how things could’ve been different?” or in our future “what is gonna happen”, “what if I don’t succeed?” , all these thoughts, all these feelings … They are valid. They are legit.
But for how long are we going to keep living in the moments gone by, or in the moments to come?
It’s high time we realise the importance of today, of the moment right now. This too shall pass, this too shall be a part of our memory .
Alas, I keep saying these things and convincing myself when I too am a victim of NOSTALGIA.
