Annual summer reminder that nobody judges your body as much as you do.
Do you go around focusing on people's stretch marks, bone structure, scars, unshaven armpits and cellulite? I don't think you do. Nobody else does so either.
You deserve to wear whatever you're most comfortable in. Maybe that's less clothing because it's gonna be way warmer outside, maybe more clothing due to religious reasons. Whatever the case, only thing that matters is that it's your choice. Don't let anyone pressure you this summer.
Tumblr media
Your body is here to keep you alive, not look a certain way.
Your clothes are here to make you feel comfortable, not insecure.

Here's what i'd pack in a box for someone who has bpd to open during hard times. Maybe someone will like these ideas.
Tumblr media
First i'd get there a small journal and pen, to write down bothersome thoughts, as well as positive notes, reminders of good memories, or previous things that they've overcome, to remind them that splits don't last forever.
Tumblr media
Then stim toys, because stim toys are for everyone who needs them.
Tumblr media
This stuffie
Tumblr media
Soft tissues in case they'd be crying.
Tumblr media
Paper stripes so that they can make paper stars if they're in need of distraction.
Tumblr media
And lastly a little sour candy and lavender to sniff, both have been proven to relieve anxiety.
Tumblr media
What would you add to this? And if there's any other disorder that i should make box suggestions for, please let me know.

Idk if this'll help anyone but a mental exercise that i like to do when i can't get something done goes by breaking down the task. For example:
"I can't get out of bed"
"but i can sit"
"i can check the time"
"i can move to the side of my bed"
"and i can stand up"
Think it in your mind about like that, using those same sentences, also works on more complex tasks:
"I can't cook"
"but i can wash my hands"
"i can go to the kitchen"
"I can open the fridge"
"i can wash these vegetables"
"i can even cut them into pieces"
"i can open the fridge again"
"i can cook these"
And so on. Idk if this'll help anyone else but i tought i'd share.

This is an open invitation to have a discussion regarding the fact that so many people have caffeine addiction and it's pretty much normalized in the current western culture.

Shoutout to my people with demand avoidance, you guys are my people and we need entirely different self-care advice than the neurotypicals. The world is really cruel to those who are different.

Mindlessly scrolling social media is not an issue of "self control" or "discipline" You likely have some real unpleasant toughts that come to mind the moment you stop numbing yourself with endless distraction. Be kind to yourself and let yourself feel those things you're running from. Turn off all distractions, take a journal ready and write out all that comes to mind.
You got this.

You can't seperate mental health from physical health, because brains are a physical organ. Every emotion or thought you have is a real physically observable signal in your brains. It's as real as anything else physical. Your feeling are real. You are valid.

Lavender is a real blessing of a plant.
It's been shown to contain linalool and linalyl acetates wich calm you down.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3612440/
It not only calms your mind down but also your muscles, the anxiety relief is instant once inhaled, and there's no negative side effects. It's been used by various cultures for really long time, and it also deters insects. Getting a lavender inhaler was the best decision I've done, as I've suffered from severe anxiety my entire life. This is not an ad, idc where you buy your lavender from. I also know it won't work for everyone and i don't want people quitting their meds over this or anything weird. But I'm sharing something that worked for me.
Also if you're interested in more mental health stuff feel free to follow my blog!
