I actually do like how unserious it was despite my pet peeves at specific moments

The parts that were a little too unserious or carried a bit for too long made the story weaker (imo) but the ending made it worth watching anyway also I can imagine a person with this movie’s type of humor so it wasn’t that bad

Why couldn’t they name it…a name? “Kpop Demon Hunters” just seems so lazy? Not even Huntrix or Hunters? Maybe even Honmoon or Hunting Saja or idek

I liked them making the boy group into tropes

Despite me saying Jax and Ragatha are both extremes I don’t think they’re competing. Well on Jax’s part

A lot of times Jax was “competing for Pomni” he’s made a big display of it, actively pointing it out to Ragatha, but I honestly think it’s more of a jab for her sickly sweet attitude and his own distaste for it than it is an actual play for Pomni to be like him. It felt more like “look how easy that was, and I did it by being GENUINE!” which doesn’t seem to occur to Ragatha because she’s so dead set on Jax being a bad guy and wanting Pomni to be on her side about that, not to mention wanting a friend to be overtly optimistic with her

I know (to some) this might seem like a “Jax isn’t that bad 🥺🥺let’s hate on Ragatha” type of idea but (1) I’m not excusing anything else he’s done, and (2) Ragatha is an amazing character, I might not be friends with her but she’s well written. I’m just looking at the scenes and realizing him and Pomni are just genuinely getting along and Ragatha genuinely reacted improperly as if that meant she couldn’t be cool with Pomni too. Like when she saw them talking and was upset?

Or when Jax said their friendship was developing?

Or when she straight up accused him of trying to make Pomni into him and he pointed out “No, you’re projecting”

Sigh. None of this may matter next episode and there’s a good chance they’ll pull that trope where it doesn’t start off manipulative on Jax’s part but then it develops more and more obvious that it is because he wants to get under Ragathas skin

Just some predictive counter claims:

But Jax isn’t genuine his whole thing is a play to hide his true emotions.” No one has to say all their deepest insecurities to be genuine. He’s honest that he hates it there and he’s an asshole, that’s genuinely how he is.

“Trying to be optimistic isn’t a bad thing and it’s definitely better than being a bully.” True but someone being overtly optimistic and ingenious about their feelings is definitely harder to be around than someone who’s an asshole half the time. Why would I hang out with someone who might hate everything and everyone including me but doesn’t express anything but happiness and pressures me to do the same, when I could be called a coward, laugh/push it off as just white noise, and bond over how everything sucks? Expressing negative emotions is much more human than whatever Ragatha’s trying which is why people drift (sorry Rag)

“Jax only said their relationship was developing to get Ragatha upset” Yeah, maybe in that moment, but it came from a place of truth. Their relationship is developing

Ragatha and Jax are both extremes.

People siding with Ragatha simply because they don’t like the character said to be an asshole is an asshole is interesting in a frustrating way.

This most recent episode has to be my favorite so far because it’s very telling between the dynamics between Jax, Pomni, and Ragatha

Love~Love Paradise (Potential) Cast

This is rewrite stuff

The other day I mentioned how insane the cast for love love was and how most of the characters did nothing significant or world building or anything

it was truly a time.

So this is just what I would change at THIS time: (reminder that the idea is Garroth is just taking his friends and family out for a trip and Love is crazy popular):

Aaron: I honestly don’t know yet besides Aphmau probably invited him…people are starting to like him so let’s say that’s why

Aphmau: First outside of family and roommates to be invited. If she didn’t come, half this cast wouldn’t be coming either, she made sure they were on top of their shit

Dante: Host’s roommate and bro

Garroth: Host (duh)

Katelyn: One of the Host’s closest friends

Nana: Aphmau’s recommendation (Aph is trying to wingman Zane)

Lucinda: Aphmau tells her about the trip and she just appears. Any trip, she’s there. No doubt.

Travis: Aphmaus and Vylad’s Not Alone Buddy. Of COURSE he’s coming

Zane: Baby brotherrrrr.

Gene: To Laurance’s hatred and Aphmaus recommendation (she owes Gene)

Ivy: She’s already AT Love Love she is NOT traveling with them

Nicole: Honestly it’ll be Nicole OR the girlfriend she had in college, probably the second, I just don’t feel like looking up her name rn

Teony: oops I should’ve crossed her name off. She’s at like NASA or something. She’s a big important lady doing big important things.

Vylad: A babier brother

Laurence: Garroth is in love with him still Host’s roommate and best friend

Other story crap that happens when we get there in no specific order (spoilers):

Zane and Nana develop a relationship there

Laurance and Gene begin mending their relationship there (I love how toxic they are but hate boners after 6 years?? Pack it up)

Aaron…I guess he can have his time with Aphmau 🙄 (I’m hating him for the bit, I actually have some cute scenes planned)

Garroth and Laurance actually grow more distant

Travis, the blue one is too stupid to notice you, I’m sorry. Please stop trying to do impressive shit

Gene is going to participate in obstacle course crap and is gonna gain so many aura points.

Ohh I would love to hear about Garrance and Generance!

spoilers for my PDH rewrite

(it’s coming soon guys. my sincerest apologies to garmau, larmau, and genemau fans you will still have your scenes but this crap is also going on)

Okay so uhm what if Friends to Lovers (Garrance) and Friends to Lovers to Enemies to Lovers (Genrance) but at the same time 👉🏾👈🏾

I’m going to talk about this post assuming everyone reading this has seen my Laurance should have anger issues post

Gene and Laurance broke up on bad terms because of Laurance’s crisis, but they still very, very much have feeling for each other like…it’s sickly they need a room. That being said Garroth is a pure thing in Laurance life. He cares, for him, he’s just as patient, and he opens his eyes to a lot more possibilities. But Laurance is stuck between the two of them emotionally. Having lingering feelings for one and developing feelings for another is the hardest thing he’s ever had to deal with.

Laurance is very much aware that Garroth may have feeling for him, but he’s not looking for anything after Gene, and even if he were, he’d wait until Garroth said something first. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t not like him he just… we’ll come back to that

Laurance is also very much aware that Gene still loves him. Yes, Gene is still angry but he’d be a fool not to see that same look in his eyes, to see all that crap he does to make sure Laurance is okay or doesn’t get in trouble. All the things to make sure Laurance is safe. He loves him he just…

Laurance doesn’t think he’s good enough for either of them. In his head he’s brash, mean, condescending, indecisive he’s too much to handle and he’s always gonna hurt those he keeps close. Just like his dad... But the way he goes about pushing Gene and Garroth away are very different. With Gene, he outright ignores him unless he has to. Maybe if Laurance shows he doesn’t care then maybe Gene will actually stop caring and move on. Laurance wants Gene to move on because he knows he’s far too amazing to stay stuck on him.

With Garroth, Laurance is kind and tries to set him up with other people, talks about girls together, yknow, friendzone him without actually saying it because if Garroth asks, he’d hate to see him heart broken.

Laurance is a mess through and through and is incredibly angry with himself in every aspect of his life. The only joy he really has is the attention he gets from his fans now and even that can be draining if he’s not careful. He’s feeling this intense craving for connection but he can’t help but self sabotage at any given turn.

(Gene knew this and loves him despite it. Garroth begins realizing this in high school and tries his best to support.)

Side note: I actually considered outright giving Laurance some type of manic disorder, But I don’t think I’ll make because I don’t want to misrepresent if and think that’ll take more time and research understanding than I have at the moment. Maybe when I get him his own side story.

Anyway that is just a really mashed together run down, there’s a bunch of little headcanons and scenes within them but sigh this post is long and colourful enough. Maybe I’ll talk about how Aphmau plays in all this in the future.

Loving the Laurance has anger issues post because that combined with my take on Garroth would make them like

Laurance -holding back his anger issues- Zvahl x Garroth -avoiding his problems with a bit of a toxic positive attitude and therefore unconfrontational- Ro'meave

Which is very fun

Garroth does not face an issue unless it’s literally invasive to his life or his friends are actively disturbed by it. I imagine a lot of it is because of family/ his dad and home life is a lot of “Watch and speak no evil”

but Laurance literally hates not addressing shit and letting people get away with crap and is quick to say something, even if slyly or passive aggressively or to someone else. Again, home life, middle school yada yada.

I imagine that in the beginning it’s really difficult for them to get along because Laurance hates playing goody two shoes. But Laurance isn’t unreasonable and knows he needs to change his attitude (for mama) and Garroth is dead set on them becoming friends and is willing to wait for him to come around.

It’s cute, it’s kind, and they become an inseparable duo

So yes, very fun

One of My Favorite Things I Did in My PDH Rewrite

was go in depth into how/why each boy is actually sought after by their “fans” and making it actually affect them (love you Jess but those boys were too hot to be walking normally in the hallways talking to her so casually sometimes)

I crave 3 dimensional characters. Characters that can exist even off screen.

So I started theorizing their reputation

Laurance is the Pretty Boy (charming, sweet, alluring, he’s approachable but you stumble over your words talking to. He enjoys the attention a lot of the time but gets pretty upset if he’s too harassed in a day, not that any of his fans realize.)

Garroth is the Hot Guy (strong, charismatic, himbo energy , he’s the type that you CANT get close enough to talk to so you resort to screaming his name from the bleachers. I mean he’s rich, he’s blonde and blue eyed, he’s the Eurocentric standard of hotness)

They’re both like celebrities. Their both captains of a team and they seem to be SOMEONES type even if on a lowkey level. No one seems to have real ill will towards either of them, and even if they did, they definitely wouldnt outwardly.

Garroth is effing RICH and unapproachable mostly because of the people he keeps. Idiot or not, his friends aren’t ones to allow him to be taken advantage of. Then suddenly this seemingly sweet, charismatic boy appears right at his side and rumor has it he’s apparently a bad boy gone good?! You’re telling me that teenage girls weren’t FLOCKING?! They weren’t skipping classes to see them?!

it didn’t even have to be a plot invasive way, it would’ve been interesting if you could just see girls and guys being weird in the bg and the boys going “yeah they just do that” or “yeah it’s hard to get alone time without it being something” that’s INTERESTING it develops THEIR lives it causes certain circumstances where they can be scene with each other making the miscommunication that happens seem more NATURAL

I’m saying this right now, then forcing a kiss on Aphmau is NOT happening oh my god little me almost cried.

A label is supposed to IDENTIFY, if it doesn’t properly do the job than that’s when it becomes “what’s the point?”

Plenty of people go unlabeled because they CANT find the right label

Plenty of people use a bunch of different labels because they can’t find the right label.

“why say your pansexual, bisexual works just fine” no it doesn’t if it doesn't properly describe the experience someone is having and wants to convey (being attracted to all genders without a preference)

“Why use omnisexual, pansexual works just fine” no it doesn’t if it doesn't properly describe the experience someone is having and wants to convey (being attracted to multiple genders with a preference)

“Why use gynesexual, pansexual works just fine” no it doesn’t if it doesn't properly describe the experience someone is having and wants to convey (being attracted to femininity regardless of gender)

All of what I listed goth under the umbrella term bisexual, which fit under the umbrella term queer which fits under the umbrella of “relationships with other humans”. Humans get more specific because they want to be able to describe their experience. Humans desire connection.

It may seem cringe to but these are people identities, these are peoples lives. People can go their whole lives feeling like their ignoring themselves and their identity because of a label they picked whether it be hyper specific or super vague. These labels are for no one but themselves and a means to convey identity to build a bridge to others. Two things can be true at once.

Not to mention the amount of neurodivergent and autistic people like myself out there feeling separated from humanity altogether and may pick a trans identity less than conventional.

Your experience is your own and not everyone’s like you. Be educated and try to understand where someone is coming from. And if you can’t bother, then don’t ruins someone’s day (and maybe even life) with your comments.

Its already a terrible life just learn to be tolerant of how people cope.
