Serene. Quiet. In the warm grasp of your peaceful slumber. Your toasty blanket completely engulfed you whole. Your face poking out just enough to let air flow into your nose for proper breathing. Your room was cozy, well, your side of the room. A desk cluttered with trinkets and paperwork. Scribbled notes on top of books. Your soft bed adjacent to said desk. Some fairy lights strung about as to not let it ever be a full dark night. Plush animals strewn about to occupy the remaining space of your bed and floor beneath it. Ah yes, one could get used to such luxury.
The other side belonged to your little brother. A handful he was, one you kept close to your heart. His own plush animals are thrown around to mingle with his light boards and remote control cars. A small desk with crayons and construction paper. Some snippets of color here and there. A small pile of markers missing their caps. No matter, you’d find them another time. His bed laid empty, his liveliness unbeknownst to you. For now.
You awoke to a plush object falling onto your face. Your little brother’s laugh rang through the room. Feeling his weight shift onto the bed as he giggled and nudged you awake. Smiling to yourself, you sat up and let the object fall onto your lap. A yellow teddy bear with a blue gingham ribbon. How cute.
With a yawn and a stretch you greeted your sibling by ruffling his hair. “Morning, pudge.” He shook his head away and lightly smacked your hand. “Hey!”
You couldn’t help the chuckle that left your throat. “Heyyy!” Mocking him with a smirk, you ruffle his hair once more. A harsh nudge of his head sent your hand flying off. Before you could react, he sent himself shooting right into your abdomen. “Oof-!” You breathed out. Minor pain aside, he curled himself up into your lap and started babbling about a dream he had.
You glanced out your window as your hand tucked his hair behind his ear. The sun hasn’t come out yet. Blue hour. Smiling, you closed your eyes with a hum. Right on time.
This was routine for you and your little brother, Gregory. He’d wake up at around four in the morning and immediately run up to your bed. Toss his plush as high up into the air as possible and let it fall onto your unsuspecting self. Of course, Gregory only wakes you up for the important things, consisting of: a glass of water, a sweet bread, some cereal, or just to talk your ear off about the wildest dream he had. This time, he chose the latter.
Normally, you’d wait for him to talk to himself to sleep, but you were particularly tired this morning. So you scooped up your little brother, interrupting his dream talk session.
He expressed his dismay by tugging on your shirt and raising his voice. You got off the bed briefly to remove some of your plush animals. Once satisfied with the space you made, you cradled him back to bed with you. Giving him most of your pillow as he made himself comfortable. Humming a short tune as you bundled up the blankets around the two of you.
“Alright, tell me what else happened in your dream,” you said, smiling and pinching his nose. He laughed and scrunched his eyes closed.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄
The bright sun is what woke you up first. You sat up with a groan. Not quite the morning person you used to be, you sat up with eyebrows already knitted together, squinting at your window with repugnance. Begrudgingly, you made your way to shut the pesky light out with curtains. Only to get cut off by a sudden crash downstairs.
Oh come now, what time is it even? You thought to yourself. The clock read 6:32 a.m. That checks out. Gregory, still being the morning person, was usually making himself some sort of breakfast by this time. Grabbing a sweater, you made your way down the stairs. Dreading what sort of mess you’d find on your arrival.
“Don’t come down!! I dropped a glass bowl!!” he warned you. You paused and looked down at your fuzzy socks. You left your slippers upstairs. Admittedly a bad habit, but one that Gregory took into account.
“Did you get cut? Do I need to get the bandages?” you hollered back to him as you made your way back to get your slippers.
A few seconds of silence passed by. Taking that as a yes, you made swift work of retrieving the bandages from the mirror cabinet in the upstairs bathroom, along with some antiseptic if needed. You smiled to yourself. Remembering how clumsy Gregory had been in his younger years. Often running to you in tears after scraping his knees, or getting stung by a bee he'd been chasing. It was rare to see him without a bandage somewhere. Your thumb traced over the bandaid box gently. You yourself were rather clumsy. Often bumping your nose into something or getting cut by the most random things. Just like Gregory, you'd be seen with some sort of bandage. Or even a bruise here and there.
Laughing to yourself, you made your way to the kitchen. Gregory had already swept up the glass debris. He dumped it into an old kitchen rag before tying it with a rubber band. All while wearing oven mitts. Something you'd taught him to avoid any further injury. Whether it be you or anyone else who comes across it.
"C'mere, lemme see," you offered with a hand. Embarrassed, he made taking off the oven mitts as slow as humanly possible. Mumbling something about it not being that bad. "Gregory." Warning him as if you'd already begun to count to three. He groaned out a "hmph" and let his wrist fall onto your hand.
The cut itself was wide. About a quarter size to be exact. It looked like he peeled a sliver of skin off, enough so to have little specks of blood forming. Not a deep cut, thank goodness, but a cut nonetheless. You hummed and dabbed some of the antiseptic on. Your little brother grimacing a bit at the sting.
"How did you get this from dropping a bowl?" you questioned as you slipped on a bandaid. Keeping your hold so he wouldn't find a way to weasel out.
Gregory huffed, "I didn't. I got it from cutting strawberries. I didn't wanna use the cutting board, so I cut them in my hand. But the knife slipped and...yeah…” he trailed off.
You hummed, seeming satisfied with his answer. Hand hovering just an inch above his bandaged wound. You smacked it. "Ow!! What??" he fumed.
"You couldn't be bothered to wash a cutting board? Now look. You have a quarter sized piece of skin missing," you gestured towards his wrist.
"So?" he cradled his wrist towards his chest.
"So?" you parroted back, "You know how easy these can get infected if you don't take care of it properly? Knowing your ass, I'm gonna have to remind you to regularly keep it clean."
Gregory's voice grew quiet. "Nooo."
You chuckled. "Yeaaah," you said, mocking his tone. Your brother laughed as he shoved your shoulder.
"Go back to bed, don't you have that interview at two?" he commented as he made his way back to his fruit.
"I do. Did you wanna come with?"
He thought for a moment, "Hmm..I guess so. Knowing your ass, you'd probably forget where you park." A knowing smile danced across his face.
It was your turn to laugh, "I mean I do—but it's also just a fun place, I think. I figured you can look around and play games while you wait for me."
Gregory feigned his deep thought, "Hmm…wellllll.”
You chuckled and pinched his nose, "It's either yes or I leave you here alone for three hours. I don't want an 'I guess.'" Your brother shook his face away in laughter.
"Okay, okay! I'll tag along!"
You smiled at his answer, "Alright, be ready by 1:30." You ruffled his hair before heading to the stairs. The faint sound of chopping on a cutting board could be heard once you reached your bedroom door. Your shoulders relaxed. "Good egg,” you whispered to yourself.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄
The drive there wasn't too bad. Early afternoon on a weekday. People were either working or in class. Either way, it allowed you to arrive ten minutes early. You turned your car off and rummaged around in your bag before exiting your car. You looked at the massive building before you. A silent gasp fell from your mouth as you opened Gregory's door.
"I didn't expect the pizzaplex to be that big…" you mumbled as your little brother laughed.
"Didn't you read up on the job offer before applying?" he poked at your side.
You jumped and swatted his hand away. "I did!” You exclaimed as you shut the car door. “…The important parts at least..." Your answer only gives more fuel to Gregory's laughter.
True, you had read up on the offer itself, the expectations and what not. Just not the rest of what the place had to offer as entertainment. You were there for a retail position. Specifically, a spot in the Lucky Star's Gift Shop. Expectations were: know how to manage a register, minor custodial experience, customer service, and general knowledge of the products you'd be selling. Those products being: plush toys, candies, apparel, trinkets, etc. An easy job surely.
You didn't expect the pizzaplex to be the size of a super mall and then some. Your wide eyes glued to the building as Gregory dragged you to the front doors. The parking lot was thankfully not as full. You felt comfortable in trusting your sibling to guide you to your destination.
A small chime rang once the two of you arrived. The smell of pizza and freshly cleaned carpeting wafted in the air. The ceilings were higher than the sky. Tiled floors waxed clean and carpeted floors as vibrant as the day they'd been installed. Gregory let go of your hand as he took a step ahead. Eager eyes darting around all the possible things he could do: an exciting collection of bowling, racing, arcades, and a food court, to name a few. He felt his stomach growl. His window shopping, however, got interrupted by a robot. A cute little thing. Just an inch taller than Gregory. Colored cheeks and the animation of a stiff broomstick. A colorful sunny shirt with the words "Daycare!" littered across its chest. A quick scan from your head to toe gave it all the information needed.
"Interview number 24, scheduled in 8 minutes. Early. Punctual. With a—" it stopped and gave a slight nod, "—plus one. I am one of the daycare's staff robots, greetings. Would you like me to show you to the location of the interview? Do you need to enroll the young one into the daycare while he waits?" It offered its metallic hand towards you.
You smiled and shook your head. "Thank you! But he’s alright on his own, I appreciate the offer though!" You made quick work of fishing for your credit card in your wallet. "Alright Greg, I'm leaving you with this to use responsibly. Food and a few games. Keep your phone volume on high and with you at all times. I'll call you once I'm done, alright?"
His eager hands snatched the piece of plastic, "Alright!" And with that, he was gone. Laughter hummed through your chest as you took the staff bot's hand. Just an interview. In and out. Then you'd find Gregory and be on your way home.
The walk there helped you familiarize yourself with the layout of the first floor. You took note of a few bathrooms and emergency exits. The bright neon lights arranged in stripes along the wall caught your eye. How you didn't notice that upon first entering was beyond you. The larger than life statues in the dead center as well. The Glam Rocks, in golden splendor.
You kept making mental notes as you followed the staff bot up the escalators—a gift shop or two on the side, a few designated party rooms—just some things you'd expect to see in the pizzaplex. You almost bumped into the bot as it halted. Pristine walls were decorated with a fun blue sky and the words “Super Star Daycare!” Two painted over doors sat in the middle. The right door had a small screen on it. A small wave of the staff bot’s hand had the screen flashing a green color. The doors click open, granting you both access. You watched in awe at the interaction, smiling to yourself at the notion that kids under Fazbear care were taken very seriously. Enough so to only allow a select few during working hours.
What you didn't expect was to hear the reverb of a band. Wasn't this a daycare? You didn't recall reading about there being two bands within the facility. That or the Glam Rocks hosting shows for the smaller children. Sensing your confusion, the staff bot chimed, "While this is a daycare, the attendants do like to offer shows to both children and family members. A sort of break from taking care of all the little ones running around. It keeps them still long enough while me and the others get nap time essentials ready—or when organizing the place during a busy day." You nodded at it's explanation. The staff bot took your hand once more and guided you into the hallway.
The glittery ivory flooring wasn't new, but the light fixtures were. Instead of intense neon, this section of the pizzaplex favored a warm light hung by chandelier. There were faint wooden walls staring back at you. It felt elegant to say the least. Catching you off guard, as you wouldn't expect this sort of appeal from a daycare. But a place to hold shows? You could picture it.
The daycare itself was enormous. The front doors loomed over you, as did its walls. Your eyes trailed up to find a sort of railing at an even higher level. You could only assume it was to help clean and maintain the structure. While it was walled off, the daycare offered viewing windows for anyone who dropped off their kid. Or in this case, for you to peer into.
The bot led you a bit aways from the daycare. Noticing a small fault in your steps, it offered you a small stop to look through the side window. Paying attention to your growing curiosity for the daycare attendants. You smiled in thanks and turned your attention to watch.
A bright sunny animatronic held the position as lead guitarist. His rays dancing about with little head shakes along with his background vocals. His counterpart, a sleepy night capped moon animatronic, played what looked like a bass while also taking lead vocals. Easily keeping up with the sun's guitar. Behind them, another animatronic was on drums. He resembled the sun, but had a darker color palette and a dark silhouette in his rays. He had a calmer smile to him. While he didn't sing along, he did keep up with their energy. An eclipse themed animatronic, you deduced.
Next to the moon was another guitar player, a more human looking animatronic. His color palette matched the sun's while taking the personality of the moon. Rays shooting out from his curly hair. To the sun's left was a female animatronic, another human-esque one. A violin in one hand and a wide smile and energy to match the sun's. Though her color palette resembled the moon's more than anything. Even sporting a similar nightcap.
"A Thousand Eyes, I believe that's what they're playing. It's a popular choice here. Bobby Vee?" the bot nodded, "Yes Bobby Vee, a classic." You continued looking on, impressed by their performance.
Your eyes danced across their attire: the sun sporting an exciting patterned button up shirt, bright yellow suns decorating his arms and chest. His pants were high waisted and loosely flared at the legs. Having a clown like ruffle at both ends, with cute sun's at the knees. The moon wore a red vest atop his own button up shirt. A puffed short sleeve with moons leading into a tight long sleeve seamlessly. Sporting similar pants as his counterpart, the main difference being the moons on his knees and a faint change in fabric color at the hips. As well as the buttons, which formed in a triangular pattern at his waist. Their clothing is reminiscent of both a 50s working man's attire and a 50s clown costume.
The eclipse was vastly different in clothing. An eclipse patterned button up yes, but short sleeved. No elongated pants either. Instead, he was clad in high waisted, two toned shorts with two pairs of belts. A pair of knee socks hugged at his legs before leading into his jester shoes. You couldn't help the smile growing on your face. While his counterparts had casual working man's clothing, he wore a relaxed summer outfit.
The human leaning designed animatronics had contrasting aspects. While the male's color palette resembled the sun and eclipse, he had somber imagery: a yellow short sleeved button down riddled with rain clouds and drops. His pants flaring with ruffles. The latter being cleverly white with raindrops defying gravity and drifting up his legs. His female counterpart sporting sad blues to match the moon. Specks of happy suns littered her puffy sleeved button up. Her own vest was colored a happy yellow with four pointed stars. Her high waisted shorts were a two toned blue with similar stars dancing at the ends. A sun patterned nightcap atop her head.
"So remember when you tell your little white lies that the niiiight~ Has a thousand eyyyyes~!", The sun and moon sang while their human counterparts accompanied with a falsetto. The eclipse excitedly hit his symbols to signify the end of the song.
The daycare erupted in cheers and you couldn't help but clap softly. The animatronics bowed as flowers and toys were thrown to the main stage. The sun was the first to rise, his smile widening as he made eye contact with you. You smiled back and raised your hands up a bit. Wanting to make sure he saw you were clapping. Only for said clapping to stop once he winked at you. You couldn't help the silent gasp you let out. The girl animatronic jumped up from her bow, waving to children excitedly. Turning to yank her other half up. Her eyes briefly caught your's, her smile growing that much wider.
“Two minutes remaining until the interview. Shall we be on our way?” The staff bot unknowingly offered you an out to your awkward expression. "Y-Yea! Let's!" you agreed. This time you took its hand in yours as you walked away.
"Ah—I see you were familiar with the way to the Lucky Star's Gift Shop?" you stopped abruptly.
“Uhm...nooo..." sheepishly admitting you were, in fact, not.
The bot laughed, "Don't worry, it's a few steps in front of you."
You glanced up from your stance and saw the sign in front of you. "Oh—! Well look at that…" biting the inside of your cheek as you continued leading the staff bot there.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄
"Guys! Did you see them? The new interviewee for the gift shop?" Sun exclaimed. His fellow bandmates looked around for said interviewee.
"I don't think we did," Moon admitted, "Brother?"
Eclipse shook his head, "Sorry, afraid not. PeyPey?” he turned to the human animatronic.
"Hmm...can't say I did, Caro?" his counterpart excitedly nodded.
"I did! I think they were absolutely darling, wouldn't you agree Sun?" she rested her head on PeyPey's shoulder.
Sun excitedly nodded his head, "I do! Darling and kind! They clapped for us after we played! Oh, I can't wait to meet them!!"
Moon chuckled, "That's if they get hired, brother dear. And knowing the luck with past interviews, I'm afraid their chances look slim."
Eclipse clicked his tongue, "Well, never say never, Moon. Don't sour Sun's optimism."
PeyPey nodded in agreement, "I think this is the first one to actually stop and watch a bit of our show.”
"Right you are! I'm sure we've more than grabbed their attention, enough so to have them really aiming to win this interview~!" Sun sang out as he began to put his guitar away. The rest of the band mates followed suit with their own instruments.
"Well, possibly…maaaybeee," his lunar brother teased as he put on his neck ruffle.
"I just hope it all turns out okay," Eclipse added while also fitting his own neck garment on.
"Oh come now, I'm sure they'll ace it! They've already made quite the impression on Sun, I'm sure he'd be more than happy to convince the company otherwise if it all came down to it," Caro commented.
Her other half chiming in, "It'd be nice to finally open up the gift shop. The staff bots help a lot but none have what the higher ups are looking for, even with all the programming they do."
Moon hummed in thought, "What do you suppose they're looking for?" He opened his palms as if waiting for something. All eyes turned to PeyPey.
"Well...someone kind and patient, who can connect with guests, and…someone who has experience with children? Especially the younger ones. Someone who has a real knack for it," he concluded.
Eclipse twirled his drumstick. "That sounds about right. Certainly the type of person I'd want working in a gift shop right next to a daycare," he smiled.
"Speaking of daycare: our other jobs await! Come on!" Sun spun his rays as he ran off to the growing number of children waiting to get checked in.
Eclipse laughed and followed his brother. "Hold on now! Let me just wrangle up PeyPey and Caro!" Moon called over to his brothers.
He held out his arms and nodded towards the two animatronics. Both of which did a quick jump into the air. After a small popping sound and puff of clouds, they were the size of pineapples. Landing softly into Moon's embrace.
"Why they made you two as both small and tall will always confuse me," he quipped as he jogged over to the check in.
"Aww, Moon, don't you find us helpful when the kids get into small spaces? Or when you need an extra pair of hands for paperwork?" Caro asked while tugging on his ruffle.
The animatronic rolled his eyes with a smile, "I suppose so."
"Or how about when you need us to walk around the daycare during nap time? The other two aren't aren't too great at sneaking like us three. Especially on a full day. Are we helpful then? Or how about—" PeyPey's words got cut short by Moon's hand gently patting his head.
"Alright alright! You're both helpful even when the size of fruits! Happy?" he exasperated. The pair nodded, satisfied with his answer.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄
The gift shop was pretty homey, reminiscent of a mom and pop shop, and matching the personality of the daycare indeed. Faint primary colored wooden walls surrounded you, accompanied by cartoons of the attendants frolicking about. Ivory tiled flooring at your feet, white wooden shelves with card labels for what would be set out. ‘Sun plush toys here,’ read the one. ‘Eclipse plush toys here,’ read another. The shop was well kept. No dust in sight and your reflection smiled back at you from the floor.
Yep, well kept.
"Alright, I've got your papers all settled here. Now let's see…" What would be your manager beckoning you to the front register. You loudly gulped and nodded as you made your way to her.
She was a warm woman. Pansy was what she went by. She was average height and wore a black button up with some slacks. A pen held up her messy bun. Glasses hung at the bridge of her nose. During your initial interaction, you'd find out that not only was she this giftshop's manager, but the manager of pretty much every other shop here in the pizzaplex. How does she manage all the inventory and employees? You'd never know. Trying to think about it made your balance shift off its axis. Even with the technological advancements of staff bots roaming around, managing that many stores must be exhausting. What with customer service whilst also making sure everyone on the team was okay.
"Your resume is nice, your experience certainly fits our criteria. We would love to have you, but you must answer one question correctly," she watched you through the rims of her glasses.
With nervous eyes, you nodded at her once more. Urging her to continue.
"When you see a child begin to cry after a fall, what do you do?" The question itself wasn't one you were expecting.
Befuddled, you recounted the times that child was Gregory. "I...I don't make it into a big deal. If I do, they learn that every little problem is a bigger deal than it's supposed to be. Help them up, make sure they're okay and point out how there's no injury. Gravitate their attention to something else," you glanced back at her and tried to read her reaction.
This was how you raised Gregory. For whatever accident happened. You made sure not to baby him as much, and to show him ways to get back up. On the off chance you weren't around. It's how your parents had raised you, so you raised your little brother the same way.
She nodded and scribbled a few things onto her pad, "Well, consider yourself hired!" She immediately grabbed your hand and shook it.
Your air left your lungs in a gasp, “Really?” attempting to match the strength in her own handshake.
"Of course! Every interview I've had failed to give an honest answer. It's always, 'cradle them until they stop crying' or 'leave them there to cry until they stop', I was beginning to doubt I'd ever open this shop up!" her laughter raised into the ceiling.
"The position you're applying for is no daycare attendant, but to hire someone without at least that sort of experience? Right next to a daycare?" she waved her opposite hand, "Don't even get me started! I know I can confidently leave you here to handle any child. After your training period of course! If you can calm a kid down before the waterworks, you've made it!" her laughter died down as did her handshake.
Your mouth hung open in a smile, "Well-thanks! I owe it all to raising one!"
Her eyes widened a bit, and her hand stilled. "You're a parent…?" she asked as if it was the most otherworldly thing she'd ever heard.
"Oh—! No, no! I raised my younger brother!" you laughed.
She sighed a breath of relief. "Goodness—I was about to ask you for your skin routine!" You couldn't help the happiness constantly growing on your face.
Pansy wiped a tear from her eye, "Woo! What a hoot! Alright, what day are you able to start?" she asked, readjusting her glasses.
You stood there contemplating for a moment. In all honesty, you were ready to start then and there. You had been let go of your previous job due to seniority and having to make some cuts. Unfortunately, you were one of said cuts. A bit of worry seeped into your brain. What if they view you as too excited? Maybe a bit of a try-hard? You could wait until the shop was fully furnished. Or maybe the following day…tomorrow...yea!
“Tomorrow's good! But of course I can see the shop needs its products, so I don't mind waiting until it's all stocked up, whichever works best!"
Your manager's smile grew, "I'll notify you once the shops all settled in, we'll start easy. Just some managing the floor and customer service, how's that sound?"
You happily offered your hand, "Sounds like a plan, I look forward to it!" She matched your enthusiasm with a firm handshake. The second one of the meeting. "As do I. Welcome to the family!"
You felt something in your grasp once she let go. Your name tag. A pretty, holographic lenticular tag. Shifting it to the left would shine a sun, in the middle a calm eclipse, and to the left, a sleepy moon. You stared in awe at the exquisite piece of plastic. This was the most beautiful name tag you'd ever been given.
“We'll get this little guy properly labeled with your name in a second, love. Just need to remember where I left that pesky hand machine…” she mumbled the last sentence as she walked around the front desk to look for it.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄
"Moonie I simply must know!" Sun grunted as he tried reaching the daycare's front doors. His brother held him back without much struggle.
"We'll know in due time Sun. No need to pry for information," he chuckled.
Eclipse had started a game with the kids. A classic game of cops and robbers. Such a game in the daycare proved to exercise a kid's brain. With many places to hide such as the ball pit, jungle gyms, slides, cubbies, and so on, one had to get creative in this space. This time the attendants were playing the cops and the kids were the robbers. Caro and PeyPey had more luck than the lunar and solar triplets. Their smaller size proved useful in getting the stealthiest of kids. They'd started a system of chasing the kids out of hiding and straight into Eclipse's waiting arms.
"Come on Sun, don't you want to play with the kids? It's cops and robbers, one of your favorites,” Moon tried convincing his twin.
"But Moon! What if we never find out? What if they didn't get hired?" Sun whined in his brother's hold.
Moon sighed and reluctantly carried a protesting Sun to the game. "You had confidence earlier. Where has it gone?" The animatronic passed by the window, not thinking much of it.
"Oh hey it's the interviewee!" Caro exclaimed as she popped her head out of a jungle gym.
"Where?” Sun jumped out of Moon's hold with his eyes darting across the room.
"Out there, they're shaking hands with Pansy...I think I see something sparkly on their clothing," Eclipse added while carrying four giggling children.
His solar twin excitedly gasped and ran over to watch. What he said was very much true. There you were, talking with Pansy as if the two of you were old friends. A fresh name tag glistening below your smile.
"I can't thank you enough Pansy, thank you!" you exclaimed.
Your manager shook her head. "No, no—I should be thanking you! Two years this shop has been here—two years without a proper employee. You're doing wonders by just being you, love!" She smiled warmly.
You felt bashful and rubbed the back of your neck. "Aww, I'm glad we could help each other then! I look forward to being able to help in any way I can!"
She patted your back with vigor. "There we are! That's what I like to hear!"
Sun failed to notice bandmates and children crowding behind him to get a look at the new hire.
"They did it! I see their name tag!" Caro hollered from Eclipse's shoulder.
Moon nodded, impressed. "Huh, Look at that."
All comments fell on deaf ears. You did it. Finally they found someone competent enough to run the gift shop! Someone who's genuine—kind even! Sun couldn't contain his excited rays dancing about as he watched, resembling a puppy happily wagging its tail. He could see it now: his siblings and friends all palling around, with you in the middle! Catching up and having a swell time as you take your lunch break. Sun sighed at the thought.
Pansy turned curiously at all the muffled yelling. Her laughter got caught in her throat, "Oh! Would you look at that!"
Curious, you peered towards the direction she was looking in and gasped. Not only the animatronics, but the children as well had been watching you. Not knowing what else to do, you offered a small smile and waved. The crowd waved back with a muffled "Hi!" except for Sun. He stood there with his shoulders relaxed and smile tilted.
As you were about to take a step, he joyously screamed and launched himself away from the window. The kids erupting in laughter as Eclipse and Moon can be seen calling out to him in chase. Caro and PeyPey, still at the window, poofed themselves to their tallest height, herding the kids away from the front door.
Sun rushed out with a trail of smoke behind him. He was a foot away from you in an instant. "Hello there! My name is Sun! I'm one of five daycare attendants and a member of the Starlights band! Who might you be, dear?" he cheerily asked.
His height was alarming. You barely reached his chest. While his tone of voice was welcoming, and you couldn't help the anxious flips your stomach did when you briefly raised your eyes up to his. This was the performer who winked at you—a type of interaction you weren't used to. His charming transatlantic accent didn't do you any favors either. You quickly glanced at Pansy for guidance. The only guidance being a nod to go ahead.
Your name trailed out of your mouth awkwardly as you reached a hand out for Sun to shake. "A lovely name! An absolutely darling name!” He matched the same enthusiasm of Pansy’s.
His siblings caught up to him. "Sun! You can't just run off like that, we've got children to look after!" Eclipse scolded as he placed a hand on Sun's shoulder.
“Yes, just look at them all wiggling about in your absence." Moon observed once he reached the small crowd amongst you.
You peered past Sun's waist. The children had been trying to weave themselves through the other two attendants. So much so that you've noticed the two sprouted a second pair of arms just to manage the lot.
"I'm sorry…" you trailed off. You didn't mean to cause this much excitement.
Eclipse shook his head, "Think nothing of it. It's our brother's fault, truly. We really must go before they get any more restless," he admitted with a short bow. Pulling his solar brother by the arm with him to the daycare.
"We'll be seeing you around!" Sun called from Eclipse's grasp.
"Yes, sorry for the short introduction—I'm Moon, that one's Eclipse. The girl is Caro and the boy is PeyPey, the two there at the window," the lunar animatronic gave a small bow in turn. "We look forward to working with you, dear," rushing off to help get Sun back in.
You faintly heard Moon and Eclipse scolding their brother. Who in turn could only muster up "I couldn't help myself!" Your brain wracked against your skull. All three were charming, you had to admit. What with their manners, transatlantic accents, and just the way they carried themselves with each other.
Both Moon and Eclipse smacked Sun upside the head in a playful manner before running in through the front doors. The latter took this as an opportunity for a chase. From the window you could see the children and two human animatronics briefly pause their actions. All heads following Moon and Eclipse as they excitedly ran across from them. The crowd turned their heads to Sun. All of them caught momentum once they noticed the attendant had begun to go after them as well. The children shrilled in joy as the other two attendants joined. Scooping up any stragglers on the way.
Pansy burst out laughing once more. "Those five know how to liven things up around here. Get ready to see more of them, especially with their merchandise in the giftshop."
You sheepishly smiled, "Can't wait!” Your eyes glued to the window a few feet from you. Admittedly, you missed when Gregory was that small. Laughing at almost everything, getting excited over the smallest things. It made your heart feel warm. This must've been how your own parents felt when you yourself grew up.

Johnny cade headcannonsss

Authors notes- um so my writers block is gone (yipeee) and I decided that from now on this is just going to be a general writing account instead of something focused exclusively on one fandom (I'm still gonna do creepypasta stuff dw) but I didn't realize how much writing for one singular thing burns the fuck out of you so I'm doing this because it's much more easier and I'm gonna upload more because I'm on summer break. Anyways I'm on an outsiders kick rn so this is the result of it
tags/ warnings- mentions of abuse, johnny being a gossip whore, angst, fluff, johnny thinking negatively about himself, brief mention of romance, someone please give him a hug-

-Johnny is really fucking strong despite looking kinda scrawny but he believes no one when they tell him this (he thinks they're just trying to make him more confidant)
-If he did have a s/o then nine times out of then they've asked him to carry them everywhere
-he hates physical contact he can't stand it especially if he's not ready for it like if you hug him from behind. mostly because everytime someone touches him it's to hurt him but also another is because he just hates being surprised
-his body is so unbelievably cold all the time that even if there was a heat wave in the area at like 120*f he would still feel like he's on the brink of dying from hypothermia
-something he picked up from Dally is being rude to people for like no reason he doesn't even do it intentionally he just kinda says the most outlandish rude shit about people and does not even realize it
-adding onto things he's picked up from hanging with dally is how to talk to girls, contrary to popular belief he's actually not (completely) clueless with girls and he can sweet talk if he really wants to (he starts off stumbling like an idiot though)
-he's failling a good percentage of his classes for half the year because he figured that he wasn't gonna go far in life even if he didn't end up dead by 18 and his parents don't care about him enough to check his report cards
-at the end of the year the week before you can't do any more retakes and turn in late work he'll just do everything in one go because he doesn't really wanna be held back (he ends up passing with b's and c's)
-he's actually really good at making shit he has a drawer full of small little trinkets he's made in his spare time
-he learned how to make things to pass the time because before the gang he really didn't have friends and he didn't have a good excuse to go out anyway so he just locked himself in his room and began making things out of paper and rearranging action figures he stole from the junkyard or from second-hand stores
-more than half of his creations look like the shit Sid from toy story made
-he's so oblivous when people like him it's ridiculous and when he does realize they like him he just kinda is like "oh...oh...OH?!!!"
-even when he does like them back his first instance is to distance himself from them he thinks it's something that'll like pass
-he's dyslexic which is why he always makes Ponyboy do his English homework and read his homework to him in general
-adding onto the headcanon about him being cold all the time, for that very reason you'll never catch him out of him dead out of his jacket (well I guess that's not true bc he died without it but wtv)
-another reason is that he has a lot of scarring and bruises from his parents that he hates seeing
-dally was the first person to meet Johnny and he was kinda like "damn look at that little possum...it's coming home with me" and when he asked Johnny his name he had mumbled it so when he said it it sounded like Johnny cakes so for like half a year dally called him that before randomly correcting him
"yeah, so johnny cakes here-"
"Johnny Cade."
"huh? What you say, little man?"
"My name's Johnny Cade, not Johnny Cakes."
"..."
"..."
"are you serious-"
-Johnny's a gossip whore whether he admits it or not. the perks of being quiet and going unnoticed is that people will say there business loud and proud in front of you because they have forgotten you were even there.
-he will without a doubt tell Ponyboy after.
-and since Ponyboy has little to no understanding of the meaning of keeping things to himself he will in fact tell the rest of the gang
*requests for hcs/ or fics are always welcome*

hiiii ive regained consciousness n tis time to talk abt ClochEpel🫵☺️
im gonna be so honest w u i rlly dont know much abt it😅 if u saw me rummaging around ur clochepel tag that was me trying to refresh my memory on their relationship. hnstly tho, that js mostly got me hooked on ur occult au, but that’s a diff topic—
siiigh, js thinking about how cloche n epel both developed their infatuations mainly off of projecting an image onto the ones they're taken with. siiigh, thinking of how they both end up eventually getting their delusions shattered. siiigh. ClochEpel rlly is one of the slowburn of slowburns, i think. n as much as i lowk love cloche, idk what epel's built out of to be able to withstand the humanized ver of katy perry's Hot N Cold(except it's more like Lukewarm N Cold). from the tidbits ive seen of them, though, cloche does seem almost more comfortable? receptive? towards him than most. found the ship analysis(YIPEEE) n it kinda confirmed my thoughts that cloche accepted him partially bc she found him beneficial to some degree. epel does seem to have a bit of a hero complex, w most of his image of her stemming from him thinking 'damn, she's js like me fr,' n so i do sorta find the same kinda parasocial aspects as RookLoche (esp since cloche acts a bit impassive towards him n despite that he still holds feelings for her) except they're projecting different people. n look, a part of me pities epel but then there another part of me that begs the question of what he was thinking? i get that he's young n naive n has a crush on her, but from what i've seen she warned him of what'd happen n he still pursued her after rejection. sad lover/loserboy hours but also he kinda walked right into it, even with warning. srry if this comes across as harsh to epel, i js have personal beef w the notion of pursuing even after being told otherwise n that’s js kinda projecting onto epel now that im reading back😅 mb
so i saw the post abt what happened during chp 7 that rlly turned their relationship around n that's been festering in my mind. ok, question, do they ever get to see cloche in epel's dream? ngl, that post did make the smooth marble that is my brain go ‘ooo’. n im js a sucker at the end of the day. but i also do wonder if that post is still valid in regards to the newest chp 7 lore drop. and abt chp 7, what order does cloche's dream fall in? it's stated that the cast is there, so is cloche's dream js a bit down the line or closer to the finale? subtly trying to sneak in my chp 7 questions here despite this being a ClochEpel ask, teehee

JSBSHDJDJD TYSM FOR YOUR THOUGHTS!! I honestly wasn’t expecting a separate ask or so much but every word is cherished! I’m so sorry with how much you had to piece together considering how little I actually have of ClochEpel compared to the other ships 💀💀 Feeling even more guilty since this is the “lore” ship 😭😭 One day I might bring back the Occult/ClochEpel Horror AU (still lives rent free in my mind but I’m overwhelming myself with ideas now- anyways…)
Oh Epel… Pel-pel, Eppy… What would our boy be if not sorted into the dorm based on the Beautiful Queen’s tenacity? Though in regular, off-screen interactions, Cloche is simply indifferent and wouldn’t be as mean as she’s been shown— aLL THE FRESHMEN ARE WONDERING THE SAME EXACT THING (seniors too-). Epel is a force of nature, pure spite and grit stuffed into that lil body of his. When Epel gets into shit, he’ll stick to it— whether if it hurts him or not. It doesn’t matter, he will tough it out one way or another. Take Epel’s bet with Vil to be his “poison apple” for the VDC, or when Epel was given what was supposed to be an “impossible” task from Crewel in his lab vignette. In both situations, Epel was disadvantaged (collecting lanternblossom nectar that took 2-3 years to bloom or defeat a literal dorm leader), but he stuck to his guns with pride to see it through (whether he succeeded or failed but he worked his damn hardest). Even in Epel’s dorm vignette, he wasn’t exactly thrilled to decorate a blastcycle for Vil’s movie and had the first one rejected, but he redid it anyways. Time and time again, Epel’s been thrown into the mud yet he climbs right back up. Of the TWST cast, Epel might be the only one (in)sane enough to keep persevering even after Cloche’ constant rejections (red flag irl). You are on the mark about the projection part! Ultimately, Epel’s projection on to Cloche can extend to him wanting to break through her shell— (or at least he thinks Cloche isn’t as indifferent as she leads everyone else to believe she is). In that aspect, Epel had always been wild but had to reign himself now, whilst Cloche seemed to have never let loose before (or at least willingly).
Cloche’ reception towards Epel is veiled. The best example to encapsulate this is the valentines comic! Even though Cloche initially wanted to give Rook the chocolates and went to Epel to ask— she ultimately placed Epel’s wellbeing first. We’ve seen Cloche be ruthless before, she could have let Epel starve to keep searching, or tell him to leave and eat, but she didn’t. Epel’s function, as a love interest, is to pull Cloche down with him— to make her compromise, learn to cooperate with and care for others, and be grateful with what she has. As mature and put-together as Cloche tries to be, she does need to learn how to commit before searching for an easy way out. Though I’ve yet to show when Epel has had enough of Cloche’ games, it will be on her to take responsibility and mend their relationship again. This is why ClochEpel is the main story ship to me— Epel challenges Cloche in a way that forces her to grow. Does Cloche use Epel? Absolutely 💀— but in a way, her begrudging acceptances could be read in the lens of her using that manipulation as a front (Cloche can still be prideful in the wrong ways 💀 Say Cloche did develop feelings for Epel earlier, she’s still going to be in denial about it).
Ahhhh the bit about Cloche as Buffpel’s GF in the dream 💥💥 Yeah that’s still valid, I just never got through finishing the comic 💀 If I’m interpreting the question right, there’s no fantasy version of Cloche in Epel’s dream. The moment Cloche and Silver/Sebek/Grim/Ortho pop into the dream and bump into Epel— he just yoinks her right there and no shame. Insert the whole “I didn’t know you two were a thing” reactions.
Cloche’ dream falls somewhere closer to the end! I’ll have to check through the story again to find a specific segment. Ideally, I’d like all the freshmen to be gathered (as they’d be the most relevant to her), but the most important witnesses of the dream (besides Silver/Sebek/Ortho/Grim) would have to be ADeuce.
#sobbing the pics are so cute tyty#much appreciated <3#and please it’s okay???? there wasn’t any pressure at all#hope you got the rest you deserved 😔#oc: cloche🎊#ask 🎊#meowing 🌸#clochepel#twst epel#epel felmier#twst oc#twst ocs#twst yume

Hello! i was wondering if you could write me a req bc i saw your reqs r open (bc I ✨respectfully✨ suck booty at writing)
basically, reader made friends with Ghost while working together on deployment, and became friends, they hang out sometimes bc they live kinda close, blah blah blah. then, Ghost doesn't hear from reader in months (which isn't normal, bc they text like once a month, just to make sure one another is okay when they can). then, one day, in the middle of a meeting Ghost gets a call from an unfamiliar number and almost ignores it until he sees that the area code is the one reader lives in, so he decides to answer it. boom, guess what? the reader is in the hospital, sustained r/srs injuries, and is in need of emergency surgery, and the reader made Ghost the emergency contact (lets also say they traded dog tags bc fluff?)
homie gets all sad bc Reader might die and is in a mini coma, blah blah blah, realized he r in love w the reader, and uh
you can decide whether or not the reader dies and what happens next
i fr scream YIPEEE when i saw your req open, i adore your writing, like top tear, makes me cry but laugh and scream bc how are you so good?! srs, im so jelly of your writing! okay anyways, hope you have a lovely day, you dont have to do this is you dont want or if im jus a silly fucker and mis read and your reqs r closed or sum
Hellloooo! Thank you SO MUCH for the beautiful compliments and for this request <3 I loved it so much I started writing the day you sent it to me. But since it's very emotionally charged, it took me a little while to finish and I'm sorry bout that, and I rly hope you're still around and eager to read it!!! Well, there it is, my take on ur req, hope you like it.
Take me back (to the night we met) | Simon "Ghost" Riley x f!reader
✦Word count: 2.1k ✦ Pairing: Simon “Ghost” Riley xf!reader ✦Summary: Simon gets a call from the hospital saying that you are hospitalized, in a coma and in great life risk. ✦ TW and general warnings: sensitive topics, lots of angst, fluff though, death implications, open ending, sad af read at ur own risks cuz i'm crying in my room rn;
I had all and then most of you Some and now none of you Take me back to the night we met
“Johnny and I make our entrances fast. I clear the way, he goes front, three of you get in by the back and we surround the site to get enough space for the hostages to come out. Any questions?” Ghost asks sternly, as is the usual of his tone especially coming down to work. He was being brutally professional at the moment - if there was rather a sign of an existing Simon, it was gone the moment he got inside the briefing room. Silence follows for the next seconds while the crew seems to be pondering over what he said, analyzing the map over the big round table sticking to the center of the room.
As it is expected, no questions. He nods with his head assuming by the silence that they’re all understood.
“Our orders are to neutralize any individual we find on the site whose face doesn’t match with our hostages, which means we do it fast before they get the chance to call for reinforcements. We don’t wanna make a mess out of this.” Price then continues his own talking, marking X’s over the tactic map and giving the next orders to every one of them. It is when Gaz opens his mouth to say something, that Simon’s phone rings for the third time in a row. He curses mentally - he muted his phone the first time; now, it was vibrating in his pocket. Awkwardly, the vibration itself is heard by everyone in the room and they turn their eyes on him almost instantly.
“Hell.” He curses out in a low voice before shaking his head. “My apologies, Captain.” His voice tries its best not to come out too annoyed, but he fails and it does; despite the timing being inconvenient, no one seems to be bothered. Johnny furrows his brows in concern, and looks over at Price, who seems to have the same, perhaps even more intense, look on his face.
Ghost mentions to pull out and turn off his phone once again, but Price is quick to intervene.
“Riley.” He crosses his arms over his chest. “Third time in a row; seems like somethin’ serious, get out and pick up.” He states comprehensively.
Despite being slightly reluctant, Ghost agrees - it must be something serious. What, he couldn't come to imagine - but if for a moment in his life he had something close to a hunch, it was now, and it said he should take that call.
“Alright, one minute. Move on without me.” He nods and leaves the room, phone in hand and a worried sigh leaving his nostrils. When the door closes behind him and he walks a bit further down the hallway, he picks up.
“Yes?”
“Is this Lieutenant Simon Riley?” A feminine voice asks from the other side. Sounds in the background, beeps and small, muffled voices.
“Affirmative, who’s this?” He frowns.
“This is from the Special Forces Manchester Hospital, are you familiar with the name- hmm…” She seems to be taking a couple seconds to read, and continues saying your name.
He freezes in place.
How long has it been since he last heard this name? How long has it been since you vanished like thin air, disappeared, stopped calling or answering? Busy. That’s what he thought. Busy with work, busy with anything. The two of you had always been two busy people, in a desperate need for time.
For a moment, in those torturous seconds of silence, Simon found himself praying to a God he wasn't even sure he believed in, that this nurse wouldn't tell him you’re dead.
“Yes.” It’s all he manages to say, with his eyes running down to the ground in a dead stare. Dead eyes. He gulps, after the despair in his chest makes him speak once again, “Why?”
“Well- sir, you’re her emergency number, we’re calling because we couldn’t manage any family members… She’s in a coma. She was severely injured in combat, and [...]”
His heart stops, like it never did before. He doesn't react, his eyes look around as if he's searching for something - as if searching for his own reaction hidden somewhere within that empty hallway. The weight of your dog tag around his neck seems to be suffocating him now.
To his silence, the woman continues.
“[...] it’s… currently sort of impossible to predict her state within the next few days, she’s fighting but struggling lots; can you come over?”
“Yes.” He sharply replies, immediately. His eyes are still on the ground as he closes his eyes, and nods. “I’ll be on my way, yes.”
“Good.” She replies, and he turns off.
For a moment, he stops to breathe; Ghost wipes his hand over his mouth in a somewhat guilty expression, he should have reached for you. He should have reached you the instant he missed you, your calls.
“Hell…” He shuts his eyes for a moment, his heart stings like he’s poisoned, it hurts - some sort of pain he swears to god, he probably never felt before. Not when he lost his training dog, nor when he lost friends before - maybe because there were always a lingering possibility between the two of you. It was nothing but a friendship, never had been - but every word, every phrase was full of underlines of sentiment, an immense desire to reveal his interior and spit out the fears he refused to speak about to anyone else.
It's the possibility that kills him now. Even after all this time, not for a second did you cease to exist in his troubled and saddened mind. Suppressed by all the worries and feelings he thought were more important than you.
Not for a moment did he stop thinking about that pleasant end to his career, the retirement he knew he deserved, a house at least isolated from the rest of the world with trees and streams, the snow falling when winter comes and the sun scorching the land. land when summer finally arrived. You, on the front porch.
You. You.
When the night was full of terrors And your eyes were filled with tears When you had not touched me yet Oh, take me back to the night we met
You were leaning back on the sofa, your legs stretched out by the small table that marked the space between you and the balcony railing of his apartment.
The rain fell calmly, some thunder, but few drops. The sound of them falling against the roofs of the houses below the level where you were was echoing in your ears, and he seemed busy drawing patterns among the heavy clouds that covered the sky.
He gave up trying to find any stars in that rainy sky and found comfort in finding your eyes instead. They were already watching him, almost expecting him to say something, even though the silence between two of you usually speaks volumes more than words itself; you’ve never been good with them, much less him.
Simon looked down at your dog tag, lying brightly on your bust exposed by the tank top you wore.
“What do you want to do after retiring?” He asked, his voice calm, his eyes almost closed. He took your necklace between his fingers calmly, and watched your shiny name exposed on the icy metal.
“Gotta be honest with you, can’t see myself retiring.” You replied, with your usual brutal honesty - something he particularly always liked so much about you. “What about you?”
You don’t mind him, you allow.
“Don’t know.” He was, too, brutally honest. “Seek fuckin’ forgiveness for my sins before I die and end up in hell, I suppose.”
You laughed.
“Oh, fuck. Gonna die trying to find that, mate.” You admit, raising your eyebrows in another big sip of your beer. “We’re all going to hell… At least we’ll all party there together.” You sounded fun, and your eyes turned into little lines with the genuine smile you let out when noticed that he too laughed at your joke.
“We’re partyin’? Tell me Johnny isn’t going…”
“He’s my first guest.” You laugh harder.
“Thought that’d be me.”
“You hate parties.” You raised your eyebrows.
“I don’t hate you.”
You silently smiled and looked away.
“Fair enough.”
When it came to the two of you, there was nothing but connotation.
You could spend hours in that apartment alone with him - and you did. Did plenty of times, and yet, among subtle touches and heartfelt conversations, the end would be the same. Not in his bed, not in yours: by the door, with a rueful look and smile on your face.
With a held back hug you never gave, a held back kiss you never allowed and an uncertain goodbye before departing on a mission that could take your or his life.
There was a phone call, once.
He called you late in the night. He was drunk. Too drunk.
“I’m scared.” His voice was low, fluttering, like those cold days he’d be waiting for his dad’s arrival in his bed, under the covers, terrified and alone. “I’m scared. Can- can I see you? Can I come over, please?”
As you hugged him on the couch in your own apartment now - that huge, strong, self-sufficient man collapsing in your lap like a baby in need of comfort, your heart was never right about anything like it was right about loving him. In that moment you knew it, you were fucking lost, taken, desperately in love.
You departed; you gave him your dog tag, he gave you his. A memory, an attempt. Do not forget me, you said. Don’t you dare forget me if I die, Simon Riley.
“I didn’t.”
He looks at you with regret. The devices that help you breathe keep him from seeing you fully, whole - but still behind all those hospital beeps and sounds, you're still as beautiful as the first time he saw you.
He wants to go back to the past. Reverse everything he did, redo it from scratch; the first time he saw you, the first time he felt his heart ache listening to you talk about another man, all the times he repressed his feelings and swore not to love you.
“I want to be with you.” He mutters, his eyes emptily stare down your almost lifeless hand resting over his. “After I retire. I want to be with you.” He says again, closing his eyes, shutting them tight like he’s trying his very best to repress the tears he wants so bad to let fall.
“I fuckin’ need you- I- how did this happen, how did you…” He gasps as the clock ticks, low, the sound of the hands ringing like doomsday inside his head. Every second that passed was one less with you. There are twenty minutes left for you to enter that operating room, and maybe you’ll never leave it again.
His eyes water and his legs give out, he kneels beside the bed, his suppressed voice sounding like a low, painful moan. The cry of a child who lost everything he had; of a confused teenager who would become a soldier, cold, dead inside, incapable of love - who loved you. Who loves you. “I’m scared. I’m scared- I love you.” He’d mutter, praying to all known gods to not take you. Take anything, anything from me; anything but her.
When the doctors came into the room and hurriedly moved your gurney to the ward in a desperate attempt to get your heart working again with the transplant, Simon sat in the waiting room with his face buried in his hands, his legs trembling. and the false hope that you would come back.
That you’ll be on that front porch, resting ever so happily, a bottle of beer in your hand and the dogs running around. He will have gotten rid of the mask and the habit of wearing it and you’ll be happy. You’ll be happy. You’ll be alive.
“God, please.” He mutters. “You’ve taken so much from me, now please, not this.”
He stands up as the doctor calls his name, with his heart on his hand and regret flashing his face off, he just wants another minute with you, another second with you, enough seconds so he can tell you he love you - he had, for most of his life and now, and he will, for the rest of his days with or without you.
I don't know what I'm supposed to do Haunted by the ghost of you Oh, take me back to the night we met.

Another Zombie Au animatic storyboard!!! I'm def productive chat trust me :]
TW: Needles and Minor Body Horror
I literally listened to this song once and went "Yeah that's Zombie Au Animatic material" and decided to hyperfixate my entire day making this.
I honestly am indulging in my own hyperfixation of the doomed gay married men and their traumatized child that some of you who got jumpscared by this animatic from the Freddy, Monty, Bonnie, or Gregory tags not know who or what tf just happened so as a huge nerd that I am, I will be explaining what you have just witnessed under the cut :3
You guys can scroll now while I geek out down here :]
You pressed keep reading. So reading through this is your own doing.
OK EXPLANATION TIME BC YIPEEE
The Zombie Au is an au I have made (and written, complete story is on my AO3 if you can find it sucker) that takes place in a zombie apocalypse where the Glamrocks and co. are humans trying to survive and not die.
The main plot circles around The Fazcule (a polycule of FreddyxMontyxBonnie) and Gregory as their kid. The story has Monty trying to protect his family from a zombie horde but gets bitten in the process trying to protect Gregory. One final idea before he gets turned into a zombie, he uses his ax to chop off his lower jaw to make it harder for his zombie self to infect others.
SCENE EXPLANATION TIME FROM THE STORYBOARD!!!!
Monty- "Robot or a Doll" was supposedly human or zombie because he eventually gets cured and gets his human conscious back but remains physically as the undead. A small cloth from his ripped shirt was made as a bandana to cover up the gaping missing jaw from his face.
Bonnie- to put it quite simply, after Monty turned, Bonnie decided to take one for the team and devote the rest of his life to finding a cure. He eventually does, not without heated turmoil and mixed opinions from the others (Bashing Roxy w a vial of acid lol) oh also his fate in the ending is uhh....funny :]
Freddy- depressed father and husband, has lost 1 husband, his relationship w his kid is going very very south, Bonnie is not touching grass, he is going to lose it. He likes clinging onto items from the past (thats my excuse for HEY THIS IS GOOD ANGST)
Gregory- troubled child just happy to see his 3 dads in the ending

Hi! Im the one who requested the gojo brother request
Tbh at first i wanted it to be romantic but i ended up enjoying more how you did it xd
If you dont mind i would like an extension. I think it would be nice to see gojo, shoko and geto and the rest of first grade
Thanks in advance! :D
A/N: yipeee another request! hopefully you enjoy this one :D sorry for any typos btw hehe
request status: open!
✰ gojo ✰
- he absolutely loves to tease you but only he is allowed to do it
- ^^someone else does? it’s their head on platter
- gojo understands you’re shy at times so he knows you might not clue him in to everything that bugs you but once he finds out, he will be sure to deal with it on your behalf (even if you’re capable of doing so yourself)
- despite you two being so different, he really does cherish you and your outlook on things
- i’d assume you’re a little more rational than him so you’re probably talking him down from being impulsive (frequently)
- often drags you along in his plans/errands for ‘sibling bonding’ but in all honesty it’s probably so he has an excuse to buy extra sweets
- if you’re really his opposite and don’t enjoy the sweet treats in life, that’s when he breaks out the dramatic side of him
- ^^ fake fainting and falling on you yk…the works!
- he really is a loving guy and would do anything to keep you comfortable
✰ geto ✰
- he knows first hand how gojo is so being around you is a stark difference
- geto also probably did not believe that you two were actually related at first
- “did the stork that delivered you get mixed up?? no way you’re satoru’s sibling…”
- he is more laid back so in the times that you two may hang out or you join in on one, you know that he is someone who will have patience
- frequently requests that you tag along on outings
- ^^ maybe as a way of trying to get you comfortable or his own selfish desire to have someone around who isn’t screaming in his ear
- if you’re on the shy side, he is more than happy to speak up for you if needed
- he knows you’re capable and does not ever belittle that fact because he understands (at least a little)
- if you’re comfortable talking about what interests you, geto is happy to listen anytime
✰ shoko ✰
- she is a little suspicious of you at first
- she comes around after picking up on some of your habits and seeing you and gojo are similar
- you’d also brought her a cool lighter with a cigarette case one day and that solidified that she could enjoy your company
- i wouldn’t say she was necessarily in disbelief like others though
- shoko liked having you around, it was nice to have someone who was capable of being calm and collected in times of distress
- she wasn’t a touchy kind of person but somehow found herself with a hand on you often
- ^^ if the hangouts you attended were relaxed, expect shoko to be laying her head on your shoulder
- you made her feel very comfortable for some reason (she’d blame it on some cursed technique of yours)
- she says you’re her favorite of your family as well
✰ megumi ✰
- due to his less than normal relationship with gojo, he already sort of knew you
- it may have taken a little while for you two to officially meet but he at least knew of you from your brother’s ramblings
- upon first meeting you he was confused because in his eyes, you didn’t look like a gojo
- he had no feelings of disbelief though, he was sure you two were related
- ^^ maybe you and him stand the same or have some small physical tell but megumi was not phased by the stark difference
- he enjoyed your company more than gojo’s sometimes (though he may not admit it)
- you were not overly excitable but you still showed your emotions well when he’d interact/speak with you
- it meant a lot to him knowing you were always in his corner as well
- ^^ he definitely values both you and gojo immensely
✰ itadori ✰
- like i said in nobara’s his reaction was ‘:0
- he’d also interrogate you too
- he itadori just wants to know more about you!
- were you the younger or older sibling? were you also a full time sorcerer or did you do something else? what were your hobbies? he was very interested to learn about you
- maybe you two bonded over movies or celebrity crushes (shout out jennifer lawrence)
- itadori is someone who tends to talk a lot when excited so if you’re not super talkative, he’s filling up the conversation for you!
- ^^ he doesn’t mind if you are though, he sees it as you’ll come around eventually and talk more
- the time since which he is panicked about somwthing, whether that be a curse or the difficult decisions that must be made as a sorcerer, he feels comfortable to come to you
- ^^ he knows you won’t make him freak out more than he might already be

05 from the start ⸝⸝ antiseptic memories
tw. . . minor mentions of blood (sorry guys :')
you fell silent. im going to jump off these fucking stairs i swear.
fortunately, you quickly arrive at the school's infirmary, the tissue in hand (which gepard lent you along the way) already soaked in scarlet.
"this kinda reminds me of high school right, name? you used to go to the nurse's office all the time."
the infirmary is somewhat similar to the one you used to frequently visit when you were younger: creamy white walls, neatly lined tables with scattered computers, medical records decorating shelves, two single beds (one which you gladly hop on) with a blue curtain as a divider and the familiar stench of a shit ton of antiseptic. however, it did lack the cranky school nurse who used to constantly berate you for your 'reckless' behaviour.
"hey! it's not my fault serval nearly killed me with a hacksaw!" you argued. i think i get my 'reckless' behaviour from her.
"didn't you want to see if she could hit a target with it like an axe thrower?"
"don't tell me you weren't curious too!"
you hear a goofy snort from near the counter. "maybe..." you use a hand to cover your idiotic grin.
with a wet cloth in hand, he handles yours, wiping away at the remaining dried blood and dirt. he was so gentle too, your skin flushing at the tender attention and focused gaze, as if he was tending to something precious like a jeweller to a gem — or a florist to flowers. of course, you were anything but delicate with that roguish attitude of yours.
regardless, you couldn't take your eyes off of him.
"hold this cloth for me will you? make sure to maintain pressure on the wounds to prevent anymore bleeding." gepard instructs, heading over to the medical cabinet to search for a bandage roll.
"alright, alright. but you know, i could've done this myself..."
"but i want to," he interrupts, "it's only natural that i do."
naturally, for the ever-so righteous and caring student council member gepard landau, right? if it was pela, she'd throw a bandage at you and call you stupid for getting hurt in the first place.
"ah there it is." he grabs a roll from the top shelf, taking your hand to wrap the bandage slowly around your palm, making sure to avoid wrapping it too tightly to your liking — just like he's used to. his actions are warm but his colder, almost frustrated expression from earlier returned to him. your heart stirs a little.
"i wished you cherished yourself a little more, though..." he quietly mumbles. but you definitely heard him.
"..."
please don't make me more delusional than i already am, gepard.
"anyway...im sorry i wasted your time. we even left our drinks at the library" you whispered, opting to stare at the floor instead of him.
"it's not your fault, name." he reassured, "your health comes first. we can just meet up another time."
"how about tomorrow after your meeting? i'll pay for the coffee this time." you tempt instead of letting out an 'agonising' scream at his remark. at this, his ocean eyes soften, a grin spreading back onto his face.
"sure. for you, i'll be there any time."

MASTERLIST ⸝⸝ previous! ⸝⸝ next!
𑁤 sypnosis. despite claiming to be 'rizz master 3000' name has failed to ask out their crush and childhood best friend, gepard, for a few years (L). with this new wave of courage, will this lovestruck idiot be able to confess before gepard buys a house and adopts 3 cats and a bunny with someone else? (this is a joke. geppie will not be adopting 3 cats and a bunny).
notes. . . as of the time in writing this note, i had completed my first escape room (yipeee)! i'm not that smart tho so we took a long time but i still had fun :) 8/10

Let’s do another how Vinnie’s friends might react/respond to: opening up his closet just to see all their clothes he has taken inside. The idea is from @leffee :3
Zoe: “I’ve been looking for this shirt! And this one, too! Vinnie, I’m taking this, but you can keep the rest. It’s so last week, after all!”
Pepper: “How much do I leave here? Meh, I’ll just wear one of yours. Gimme this—it's got Pepper written all over it!”
Russell: “Vinnie, why? Please tell me they’re being washed! You know how long I’ve been missing some of these??”
Penny: “Awe, Vinnie, I remember how cute you looked in this! Oh, and I thought this got lost. I’m glad someone’s getting some good use out of this old thing. Do you want some more?”
Sunil: “Vinnie, why is 90% of your wardrobe my wardrobe? I’m beginning to think I need to check your closet more often...”
Minka: “Oh my gosh, you do it too?! I’ll trade you a Penny shirt for a Pepper hoodie! Sound like a deal?”
I'm glad you tagged me in an ask that is sent for me aha
He would. Let me do some double responses to each of those
With Zoeeey:
Vinnie: "Wait, really? Oh, okay, yipeee :D".
Fr he would be so happy she's just leaving some of those with him. He was probably expecting backlash but she's just like "meh, they're so unfashionable now anyway, just keep em, you small dirty man."
With Peper:
Vinnie: "Ahaha yeah, you left it all here ahah for suuuure. Yeah, sure, take whatever, just leave all your stuff here pls."
Yeah, those two have the same fashion sense in some way, mainly wearing stupid shirts so she would take it. On one hand might be too small for her on the other she's not that much taller or anything, plus Vinnie likes oversized/baggy clothes so I think she's safe
With llessuR:
Vinnie: "WaSheD?? For what? To lose your scent? Nuh-uh! Look, if you don't like it just leave them with me a little longer ^^."
Russell is left disgusted but also kinda intrigued
With lucky penny:
Vinnie: ":3333 :DDDD yes yes pls gib more grrr"
He would be so happy frrr. Not only does she not mind and thinks he looks cute in her clothes but she also wants to bring him more. Might exploit that ngl
With Senile:
Vinnie: "Why is my wardrobe your wardrobe? Wellll obviously cause you're a true fashion icon and I'm trying to learn from u."
Yeah he's buttering him up, I don't think Sunil believes him tho. Nah, I love that “Vinnie, why is 90% of your wardrobe my wardrobe?" line so much, it sounds so real
W/ Minka. Not even a joke with her name cause I repect her reply too much:
Vinnie: ":O. Yes1! A shirt for a hoodie? Always. Deal!"
Penny will bring him more of her clothes anyway. He'd be so happy, yipee someone to share his passion with :]]][ who also doesn't think it's weird and they can trade more.
Gosh I love those so much why is he so cute

me crying to you because your trap worked ^^^
no but seriously i'm so sad over it and OH MY GOD STEDE MERMAID HHEHEHEHE but like it's so sad and sooooo gooooooooood
YIPEEE the trap worked!!!!
Anyway I have FEELINGS. First of all Izzy this season is just mWAH. You can just tell how bad it's been with Ed by how Izzy and the crew stick together ("He is, but he's our dick" WHATTT I LOVE THIS)!!!!! Loving how especially Frenchie and Fang support him <333333
ALSO I love the scene where he shoots Ed and he's just standing there, having his leg cut off mere hours before but still protecting his crew with tears in his eyes trying to keep steady by holding onto his rope thingy or whatever?? I don't know the english word BUT I reblogged a post where it said in the tags "this is like a Jane Austen hot" and YEAH
Anyway enough about Izzy (although I am very excited for him) I honestly GASPED when I saw Lucius. Like I didn't expect it at ALL. I was holding onto the belief that he lived but I TOTALLY didn't see it coming until like the last second maybe when he actually appeared.
Another thing about Izzy especially in that scene where he shoots Edward I'm honestly ASTOUNDED by like the CGI or however they did it because it looks so good?? Ok I didn't like watch closely but whatever
Also I just wanted to say how I think the Ricky guy is gonna come back and stuff AND THEN I REMEMBERED HOW THAT ENGLISH OFFICER LOOKING DUDE THAT IZZY TALKS TO ABOUT PIRACY BEING ABOUT BELONGING AND STUFF LITERALLY HAS A PROSTETIC NOSE!!!!! How could I forget that???
Anyway onto Jim and Oluwande I don't know how to feel about their relationship as it is now??? I think they should become polyamorous okay that's it for now
#mutuals#ofmd#ofmd s2#ofmd season 2#ofmd spoilers#mutuals talking#ofmd s2 spoilers#ofmd s2 speculation#ask#I was extremely confused by Hornigold and stuff but I figured it out when he wouldn't die#Also Ed having to deal with rude customers ://

Word Count: 7.7k!
Tags!: gn!reader, many hijinks, no use of y/n, Gregory is a little shit, the daycare attendants are goofy, Moon, Sun, and Eclipse are all separate animatronics!, Daycare attendants have transatlantic accents, Alternate universe- Canon Divergence, self insert, 2nd person POV, slight angst, comfort,

Gregory finished his last bite of pizza, happily taking a sip of his soda to wash it down. The pizza itself was one of the best he’d eaten. Served hot and loaded with cheese and sauce, each bite was just as good as the last. The crust itself was good too. Garlic seasoning on it with specks of cheese baked on top of it. Pleased with himself, he packed his left overs in the box it came in. He couldn’t help the swing of his legs as he looked around the food court, absentmindedly drumming his full stomach.
“But…I wanted that one…I want the cone” her voice cracked.
Noting the few families sitting at their assigned tables, he glanced at a pair of siblings. An older brother laughed as his little sister spilled ice cream on the table. Her fishbowl eyes watering as she stared blankly at her now empty ice cream cone. Her brother grabbed a napkin and wiped her face clean. Taking a new napkin, he dried her tears.
“Come on, I’ll buy you a new one. In a cup this time okay?” he cooed as he helped his sister out of her chair.
The older brother gave a small smile and picked her up. “You still have your cone, you can take a bite of it as you eat your new ice cream.”
Her eyes twinkled, “Yeah! I can!” Her legs excitedly kicked against her brother’s abdomen. He winced a bit as he carried her away.
Your little brother couldn’t help the slump in his shoulders. When was your interview done? How long could a retail position take to interview? He grumbled as he sunk in his chair. Irritated eyes glancing over to another family at a table.
Two parents were seated with their baby boy and daughter. Their father was cleaning the little boy’s face while their daughter took bites out of a pizza. Gregory’s posture straightened a bit, watching the parents give attention to the boy. He felt the ends of his mouth curl downwards. The father’s phone rang. He briefly looked down at it, dismissing himself from the table with a kiss to his wife. Passing his toddler over to his oldest, who happily carried him on her lap. She offered a sip of cola to her sibling, who excitedly grabbed at the straw. Their mother affectionately tucked the hair behind her daughter’s ear.
Gregory ripped his eyes away from the happy family and took a shaky breath. Clammy hands gripping his box of pizza as he walked away. Jealousy gripped at his chest. Your interview had to have been done by now, it just had to.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄
Pansy had walked you out of the daycare, showing you how to use your employee watch. It was a baby blue banded wrist accessory, adorned with happy clouds smiling up at you. She showed you how to open the door and reminded you to not worry about locking it. It had its own self locking system. Amongst door accessibility there was also communication within the watch. Not just from Pansy but from the company as well. They had been kind enough to implement a small map you were able to open in the watch if you needed. A little orange dot to mark where you currently were. An emergency call option was also given to you, in the case you didn’t have your phone on you.
Your new manager also left you with a bag for your uniforms. There were three to choose from, each with a duplicate to use in between washes. The first one shined with yellow colors. A yellow short sleeve button up with, of course, suns dancing across it. Paired with a sun ray headband. The second was a navy blue short sleeve button up, stars with sleepy expressions leading towards the ends of the shirt. A night cap was given for this uniform. The appearance of sleepy stars littering the cap. The last uniform was a calming orange, short sleeve button up. Little eclipsed suns fashioned in a linear pattern. Another sunny ray headband similar to the last one, only this pair was two toned to match Eclipse’s own rays. You just had to make sure you wore work appropriate pants and shoes. They gave you the freedom to accessorize your uniforms, even offering you a handful of patches and pins of the daycare attendants to use.
Placing the headpiece back into your gifted tote bag, you reached for your phone to call your brother. You smiled as you swiped through your contacts. Oblivious to him already walking over to you. Your walking stuttered to a halt as you felt his forehead fall to your stomach.
“Greg! I was just going to call you, I got the job!” you cheerily greeted him with good news. He stayed silent. Quirking an eyebrow, you set your phone in your bag and gave him your full attention. “Hey…Gregory?”
The car ride was quiet with the exception of faint radio. You'd glance over to him every now and then to see his eyes glued to the window. Watching the world pass by in front of him. Thoughts swarmed your brain as you tried coming up with remedies for his state of mind. Maybe you guys could watch a movie. You could buy his favorite snacks and let him pick the film. Watching a movie would demand his entire attention. Or you could get back to teaching him how to crochet. Something to keep his hands busy would keep his mind off things. You'd see which one he'd prefer once you got to that point.
Still nothing.
The new items sat on the floor next to your feet. This wasn’t like your brother. You were expecting him to give some sort of light hearted snide remark. Or even congrats. But there was nothing. You kneeled down in front of him and cradled his face with one hand. “Are you okay? Did something happen while I was gone?”
Finally, he raised his eyes up to meet yours. His once smirking eyes were now puffy and red. Your brows knitted together as you inspected his face for any hints as to why he came to you like this. Taking a look at his hands, you gave them a once over as well. Arms and legs, nothing new.
“I’m here now, what do you need?” you offered. His pizza box in his hands crumpled in between his fingers. He couldn’t help the sob that left his gritted teeth.
Immediately, you took the box from his hands and offered your own for him to hold. He took them without hesitation, using them to hide his face. You wiped his tears away and moved his hair out of his eyes. Glancing around to see where he came from, you noticed the food court some feet away. Watching a family leave with happy smiles. Hiding the growing worry on your face, you smiled softly at him, now understanding what was causing his distress. You pulled away and offered your name tag for him to look at. He sniffled and tilted the plastic side to side. Dimly watching it change between three images. Slinging your bag on your shoulder, you carried him with one arm and his pizza leftovers with the other.
Upon arriving home, Gregory stood by the door with his pizza, waiting for you to grab your things. He watched you twist the keys to the door and stared as you left your bags by the coat rack.
“I saw a family today...” he muttered under his breath. Pausing your actions, you gave him your full attention. “I was...jealous,” he admitted. You gently took the box out of his hand and placed it on the couch.
“And...sad…sad I don't remember how our parents were…” Your heart squeezed as you listened to your little brother.
Gregory was very young when the accident happened. No older than six. You yourself were still a child, halfway done with high school. It was a traumatic experience for the both of you, but Gregory had been there to witness all of it in its entirety. You were at a friend's house studying at that time. It wouldn't be surprising to you if the trauma caused Gregory to block out a lot of his childhood. That includes his memories of mom and dad.
“I have some old family albums, we can look through them together,” you offered as you began to take your shoes off. “I'll tell you stories too, anything you want.”
Your brother sat on the couch. “That'd be nice…” he trailed off. Kicking off his own shoes without much effort. He curled himself into the cushions. “I'd…like that…” he murmured.
Turning to face him, you watched as his breathing relaxed. His breath was slow and long. Eyes closed and peaceful. He'd fallen asleep. You watched solemnly. Walking over to him, you scooped him up just like you had when he was small. He didn't move at all, completely limp in your arms. Only moving to cuddle his way into your neck. Giving a big sigh through his nose once he was comfortable.
You glanced over at the clock to check the time. 3:32. Too early for a nap. But, you couldn't blame him. You didn't know how long he'd been crying before he came to you. He used up so much of his energy that it completely exhausted him. As you made your way up the stairs, you couldn't help the soothing circular motions your hands wove into his back.
Gently, you turned the doorknob to your shared room. Your side of the room hadn't changed much. Just a new desk and some new pictures you've made a habit of thumb tacking to the wall. Gregory's had a new bed to accommodate his growing size. His small child desk had been switched out with your old one. He had his own fairy lights strung along his wall, a few books littering his bed, and some sketch books. Your brother had grown up to take an interest in drawing. Nothing too serious, just fun doodles of robots and whatever cartoon he'd seen that day.
Cradling him with one arm, you leaned a bit to push his books off, making sure to break their fall with your foot each time one fell. You leaned a bit too far as you reached for a stray sketchbook. Causing his limp body to sway off yours. Immediately, you cradle his head and gently place him back against your chest. Staying still to see if his breathing had changed. Nope, same relaxed breathing. You gave a quiet “phew” as you pulled his sheets aside. Carefully placing him in his bed, you watched as his brows weakly met. He reached back for you once he felt your warmth had gone. Laughing softly, you brought his sheets over him. His hands immediately grabbed at the fabric. He brought them to his chin and nuzzled himself into the pillow. Face once again peaceful as he continued to sleep.
Softly tracing your thumb against his cheek, your smile fell. Eyes following his still present tear stains. You couldn't clean them now, you'd already disturbed his sleep. Not wanting to disturb his sleep, you stood up and left the room. Keeping the door ajar and making sure the fairy lights had been turned on. You could go out and follow your initial movie plan. But, that'd mean leaving Greg here alone. The thought of doing so after all that made your stomach churn. No, you wouldn't leave him by himself.
There was crocheting too. You made your way to the living room to see if you still had enough materials. Opening the closet, they smiled back at you. The threading hooks were still in their bins along with some thick pastel pink yarn. Checking off the list in your head, you then walked to the kitchen. The cupboards hoarded your various mugs and loose leaf tea assortments, all waiting to come together for a warm cup. Chamomile could be a good choice, even hibiscus. A quiet evening home could do him some good. Then again, so would the movie. A walk out to the store to get some fresh air after all that sounded nice.
You couldn't decide on what to do. You grit your teeth, and painfully grind them. You ultimately decided to let him make the choice. That'd allow him more freedom and give him enough space to feel more in control again. Yeah! The grinding of your teeth stopped as you happily got started on some dinner.
Chicken and rice was what you both usually had. For one, the rice was easy to come by in giant bags. And two, chicken was the least expensive protein you could get your hands on. Gregory preferred his grilled and seasoned with lemon. Normally you'd have left the meat to marinate overnight, but you fell asleep at your desk the night before. Your brother would have done it himself, but he too fell asleep at his desk. A habit you felt guilty of passing down onto him.
Getting lost in your thoughts, you made quick work of washing the rice. Running through five rinses, the water pooled up clear. The rice cooker beeped joyfully as you put in the bowl of rice, happy to have been fed. Your feet absentmindedly carried you to the fridge. Reaching down, you grabbed two lemons to season your chicken with. As you made your way back to the counter, you grabbed a knife and the cutting board along with a bowl. The zest of the lemons’ scent struck your nose as you cut into its flesh. Bringing the bowl to your side, you began to squeeze out its juices, making sure to pick out any seeds that had fallen in. You set the squeezed halves aside to use as candy for later.
Your mind drifted to the times you and Gregory made sweet treats out of lemon and orange peels. They were his favorite in the beginning, but they were quickly pushed aside once you introduced him to gummy bears. It's been a while since the two of you had any homemade candy. Now there was another option to help your brother unwind. Some good old fashioned family bonding. Aside from peel candies, you'd make ‘cakes’. No baking involved. Just some packaged cookies, cream, canned fruit slices and some sugar. The cookies would be used to border a container and layer the cream and fruit. With a dusting of sugar to go on top. You could make those too if he decided he wanted to.
Your eyes glanced at the clock, four twenty-nine, fingers absentmindedly brushing against the lemon peels. Your mind blanks as you watch the clock's small hand glide over the numbers.
Something's missing...
You glanced back down to the bowl of lemon juice then to the empty cutting board. Scoffing to yourself, your palm made contact with your forehead.
PeyPey snuck his way around the sleeping children. Carefully carrying a random sock he'd found. His partner, Caro, was weaving her way through the sea of sleeping bags. The daycare's guests had been put down for a nap. All faintly snoring, some louder than others. Disorganized at first glance, but each child belonged to a small group.
The chicken.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄
Some children couldn't sleep unless all lights were off, others had trouble without a night light. Then there were kids who slept like tornados. The attendants took care in organizing where each kid would go.
A handful would sleep furthest away from any lightsource, they were Moon’s. He was the best at seeing things in the dark and was the stealthiest among the others. He took pride in knowing no kid would wake up on his watch. Anytime he noticed one stirring, he'd simply hum a soothing tune. Ten times out of ten they'd get right back to snoring.
Another group would sleep closer to a window who's curtain opened slightly at the bottom. They were Sun's. His rays produced a faint light, allowing him to sit peacefully in the center of the sleeping children. In the past, he had a notorious streak of waking everyone up, so he was more than happy to sit and act as their nightlight.
The remaining kids were left to Eclipse, PeyPey, and Caro. Their group of children could sleep anywhere. The three attendants often had to make sure their kids weren't sleeping in painful positions or pulling blankets over their faces. Naturally, the couple's tiny size allowed them to easily do their work without waking anyone up. Eclipse mainly sat in guard, watching for anything that could happen. Offering his strength when his small two friends needed it.
As the hour went on, Sun couldn't help but ping his friends with a little message through their shared server.
“When do you think the gift shop will be done?? I'm ecstatic to see our new coworker again!!” His eagerness was kept well hidden by his shut eyes.
“Not long, I've seen where they keep the merchandising and sweets. Perhaps a day or two?” Moon offered his input as he delicately placed a child's hand back into their sleeping bag.
“All in due time. Though, with all the staff bots moving around I'd say a day at most,” Eclipse commented.
“A day sounds right, I'd say,” PeyPey agreed as he sat down next to Eclipse.
“Maybe even half a day if we're lucky!” Caro added as she settled on the other side of her towering friend.
Sun's rays couldn't help but spin at the notion. Half a day? Why that'd mean you'd be here tomorrow morning! He couldn't wait to see you again. A new coworker meant a new friend! A new friend meant more fun and memories to have! He calmed his rays as he snuck a glance through the curtain peak. As expected, staff bots running about with arms full of supplies. Some brought in signs that required the aid of two to carry.
“Caro might be right, the gift shop looks as good as finished! They're just organizing the shelves and adding some signage to the walls!!” Sun exclaimed.
“And it's only five thirty! The plex doesn't close until ten!” she excitedly pointed out, drumming Eclipse's leg. The latter chuckled and turned to glance at his twin, “Looks like we'll be seeing them tomorrow then.”
“New coworker, New gift shop, we might be busy tomorrow too. If this new spot gets advertised enough,” Moon pointed out. His faceplate resting in his palms as he watched his enamored twin keep track of all the staff bots. “I wonder what kind of person we'll get to know tomorrow”.
PeyPey chimed in. “A new one,” he laughed quietly to himself and his girlfriend couldn't help but snort.
Moon's eyes rolled. “Ah yes, how could I not have expected that.” He smiled over to the smaller animatronics.
“A completely new one, one we've very much never, ever seen before,” Caro teased as a smirk danced across her face.
“Alright, alright, keep that up and I won't let you hang around that smart alec anymore,” Moon challenged as his own smirk grew.
The female animatronic gasped as she scrambled to hide in Eclipse's lap. Her partner followed after her.
“Moon, dear brother, please don't joke like that. She has a hard time telling the difference.” The orange brother frowned at his lunar sibling.
“Darling, I wouldn't let that happen. Come out please,” PeyPey attempted to coax her out.
Moon sighed, guilt dripping into his chest. “I didn't mean it. I'd never take you away from your boyfriend, dear. I'm sorry.”
Caro peeked her head out, “Never ever?” Her hand reached out to meet PeyPey's.
The moon laughed, “Never ever.”
The female animatronic happily took PeyPey's hand and yanked him into Eclipse's lap. The pair giggling as their tall friend shook his head.
He felt like he was babysitting the couple now. “I wish Moon would,” his comment fell on deaf ears.
You and Gregory sat at the small dinner table, sharing the meal you just finished preparing. He smiled as he took another bite of rice and chicken. Tear stains gone and his eyes now well rested. The color in his face was restored as well. Your cheeks rose as you watched him eat. It was relieving to see him back to his usual self.
Sun's rays danced. “Puppy looove~” he sang.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄
“So, Greg, what do you wanna do after dinner?” you asked as you took a sip of your water. Ready to give him your previously planned options should he not have an idea already.
Your brother hummed in thought, “We could go back to the pizzaplex if you want,” he replied with his mouthful.
Nearly choking on your water, you took in a big gulp to avoid it. “But, do you want to?” you asked him with sincere curiosity and a bit of worry.
Gregory gently danced his head side to side, happily chewing on another bite of food. “Yeah, I wanna.” He smiled up at you from across the table.
You nodded. “Is it alright if I ask why?” You prepared yourself for whatever answer he could give. It was safe to assume he'd want a bit of space from the place after what happened that afternoon. But to want to go back now? It concerned you a bit.
He looked off to the side. “I want to have a better experience, one with you.” He blinked away his embarrassment. Briefly flitting his eyes to yours before looking away again.
The strings of your heart tugged as you replayed his reasoning in your head. “Aww, Greggy!” You couldn't help but get out of your chair and immediately pepper kisses into his hair.
“Agh—! Hey!” he fussed. Half pushing you away with one arm and half allowing you to smother him.
You chuckled and placed one last kiss on his cheek. “You don't let me baby you anymore.” Faking a pout at him, you leaned down to be eye level with him.
He rolled his eyes. “Yea, cause you act stupid.” He smirked and watched you gasp.
“Nuh uh,” you retorted as you walked back to your seat.
“Yuh huh, you do,” he challenged with a laugh. “You say stuff like ‘Aw my little Greggy! My good little Greggy eggy baby boy!’” he mocked.
Your eyes narrowed, “What else do you expect from your ‘favoritest favorite person’?” It was your turn to smirk as his jaw shut closed. “Your ‘bestest sib ever!’ or how about ‘the coolest sib’?” challenging his taunt with two of your own.
“I'm surprised you remember those,” he grumbled as he poked at the few remaining rice grains on his plate.
You took your victory with a bow. “I could never forget such titles,” you said, a smirk growing as you took your last bite of food. “But, yes, I'll take you there. What time is it?” you asked.
He glanced at the clock above your head. “Seven fifteen,” he answered.
You chugged the last of your water and rose up from your seat. “Alrighty then, go grab your shoes. We have about three hours ‘til they close,”giving your brother orders as you push your chair.
He excitedly ran over to the living room. Nearly tripping himself as he came back to push in his chair and place his dishes in the sink. Your eyes follow him as you let the warm water run. Doing the dishes now could waste some of your limited time, so you opted for letting them soak until the two of you came back home.
The excited thumps of shoes sounded in your ear as you dried your hands off with the kitchen rag. You couldn't help but laugh to yourself. Gregory was, without a doubt, a little shit. But, on occasion, he was a cute kid. Which, in your eyes, was all the time. Little shit or not, he was cute regardless. Especially now as he ran back to you and stopped at your side.
“Come on! Get your shoes!” he hurried you while pulling you to the living room.
“I'm coming, I'm coming!” Your laughter never leaves as you reach your shoes by the door.
“They have the best pizza there! Come on, let's go share one! Oh—and ice cream!” He resumed pulling you out the door. You gave your boots a quick toe kick to the ground as you followed him, feeling them secure to your feet.
“We just ate, pudge!” You cackled watching him open the car door for you. “Plus you have leftovers from earlier!”
“I'm a growing boy, I can use more food!” He scrambled into the passenger seat. Too excited to walk around to enter properly, he wormed his way in from your lap.
You wiped the growing tears in your eyes. “Can't argue with that.” Watching him click his seat belt in and kick his feet in excitement.
Upon arriving at the pizzaplex, you couldn't help but notice the stark difference in the parking lot. It was a lot more full now compared to when you arrived for your interview. Finding a parking spot was a nightmare. Numerous times you had to turn back into the same line, thinking you saw a space available. Only to be met with disappointment as the space was taken by a small car. Gregory had his head sticking out the window trying to find a good spot.
“There!! Right there!!” he shouted and pointed to an empty spot.
Immediately you swerved into it, promptly backing up slowly to properly align yourself within the lines. You glanced at the sign in front of you, squinting as you tried to read the small writing. ‘Employee parking only,’ it read. You looked around and noticed you were at the front of the plex. After so much back and forth, you felt silly to not think of looking for this type of spot initially.
“Alright, let's go eat some pizza,” you said as you reached for your bag. Gregory gave a celebratory shout before climbing out of the car.
You made sure to attach your daycare watch to your wrist, just in case anyone asked about your choice in parking. It'd also help to familiarize yourself with its features.
The automatic doors welcomed you in. The sounds of arcade games and the clamoring of voices overlapping each other was all enough to make your head spin. The ping of your watch grabbed your attention. Glancing down, you quickly swiped at the notification on the screen.
“What's that?” Gregory half shouted over the numerous sounds.
“My work watch, looks like they fixed up a schedule for me already,” you answered.
To your delight, you'd been given a consistent schedule. Mondays through Fridays you'd work from 9 am to 5:30 pm. You had two ten minute breaks as well as a paid lunch break that had been scheduled into your work days. Luckily for you, that meant work would start tomorrow—tomorrow being Wednesday. Viewing all the chaos before you, you were grateful you'd be done with work before it got to be this crazy. The perks of working in an area with smaller children.
The daycare had closed its doors a little more than an hour ago. Staff Bots were roaming around and picking up any small debris the attendants might have missed. The lights dimmed once everything had been cleaned and sanitized. Which left the daycare attendants to retire to their rooms behind the stage.
Your attention is pulled by your brother leading you to a nearby food court. He looks back at you with a smile. A laugh rumbled in your chest as you watched him with adoring eyes. Happiness sprung into your heart, overjoyed your new job allowed you to see this side of Gregory.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄
Admittedly, while PeyPey and Caro were naturally the same height as the other attendants, they preferred to unwind in their smaller forms. Often sleeping in the room of whomever had been carrying them that evening. PeyPey yawned and curled himself into a complete ball in Sun's arms.
“Aww, someone needs to be put to charge~” Sun cooed as he opened the door to his room.
Pale yellow walls with warm orange light fixtures in the shapes of suns danced into view. A bed with white sheets laid at the corner. It had an orange bed frame to match the room. On the opposite side stood a wooden desk with small doodads in its cubbies. The tiled flooring was a happy yellow. Small plants in clear acrylic vases hung about his room. Some floral, others just greenery. An orange loveseat sat just a few feet away from his desk.
His small friend hummed in agreement as he briefly opened his eyes, “Where's Caro?”
The solar animatronic settled him into a small nest of blankets and pillows atop his desk. “She wanted to go for a night stroll with Eclipse!” A small charging pad rested beneath the small animatronic.
“I wanna go see her,” PeyPey groaned to himself as he tried swimming out of the blankets.
Sun quickly bundled him up. “No no sir, you need to charge! Your battery is running at five percent,” he frowned. He tried not to laugh as he watched his friend squirm in the swaddle of sheets.
The small animatronic frowned up at Sun, squinting at him. “I can find her just fine on a five percent charge,” he grumbled.
“As your friend and handler, I insist that you stay put and don’t push yourself,” Sun calmly stated.
PeyPey growled and rolled over to his side, facing his back towards Sun, causing the latter to gasp loudly, then stick his tongue out, fully aware that his small friend wouldn’t be able to see.
Moon knocked on his brother’s door. “Sun? Is something the matter?”
The twin jumped at the sound, scrambling to his feet as he ran to open the door. “Moony! I was just putting PeyPey down for an early charge, but he insisted on seeing his girlfriend.” His optics glared at the bundled animatronic. Who, in turn, glared back at the mention of his name.
The lunar animatronic chuckled at the news. “So why don’t you let him? If he can’t go to her, just ping her to come here,” he suggested.
Sun’s shoulders rose in a shrug. “I’d been so wrapped up in trying to charge him that the thought completely slipped my mind…” He turned back and watched PeyPey’s tired eyes slowly blink one after the other.
The solar animatronic looked amongst the many children. “Which one is yours?”
With a sigh, he did what his twin recommended him to do.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄
Eclipse had been walking around a food court with Caro on his shoulder. Animatronics weren’t gifted with taste buds, but they still had receptors to feel. It just so happened that Eclipse favored the sensation spicy foods brought. His usual meal consisted of nachos swimming in hot sauce and jalapeňos. As well as a cup of pickled jalapeňo juice to wash it all down with. His brothers weren’t much of a spice fan as he was. Moon favored sour tasting things, enough so to keep eating them until the acids scarred his synthetic skin. Sun, on the other hand, liked sweets the most. The only word he could use to describe the taste was light and happy. That meant more scorching spice for Eclipse, which he was happy about. The seven foot tall animatronic excitedly got in line. The thought of his nachos made him bounce on the balls of his feet excitedly. So much so that he failed to notice his new coworker in line right in front of him. But Caro was fully aware.
“Interviewee!” she excitedly called from Eclipse’s shoulder.
You and Eclipse jumped at the sudden shout. Hesitantly, you turned to see the source of the sound. A sigh of relief escaped your lips as you looked up to see your new coworkers. Minding the other eyes staring, you began to converse with them. “Ah—hello you two. Eclipse and Caro, right?”
The two nodded their heads. “Right you are, dear,” Eclipse answered. He curiously eyed you, “Say…what’re you doing around here? Not that we mind, do forgive me. But, last I checked, we don’t see you until tomorrow morning.”
Caro gasped. “You’re right! What’re you doing here newbie?” she asked you.
You swallowed down a laugh as the two animatronics prodded you to answer. “I’m here with my little brother, Gregory!”
His small friend jumped off his shoulder. “I gotta go!”
Caro's burst nearly makes your eyes pop out of their sockets. The taller animatronic scrambling to reach for her.
“Hey! Where are you running off to?” he called out to her.
“I got a ping from Sun! I'll be back!” she hollered back as she wove her way through guests.
Eclipse sighed. “Well, uhm...where were we…Right! Where's your little yoot at?”
Your hand pointed towards a booth. There, Gregory sat while swinging his legs. Happily munching on a slice of pizza, blissfully unaware of the set of eyes on him.
“Aww, he's a darling one,” your coworker commented. “He takes after you, I suppose.”
The line continued to move as the two of you talked.
“What do you mean?” you asked.
The animatronic hesitated for a moment. “You both have a certain disposition…hmm...Happy? Content? Generally positive I'd say.”
Your brow raised curiously, “Do we now?”
He nodded, glancing back at your brother. “Yes, you both may look different, but I can tell the two of you are siblings. The way you carry yourselves is what nails it down. Why, I can picture you eating that pizza. Take me and my brothers for example. While physically I match Sun more, my personality is more like Moon's. We both have a sort of calm air about us. I'm sure our first run-in was evident of that,” he chuckled to himself.
A snort escaped you. “Hard to argue with such compelling evidence...I guess I forget to notice the way I carry myself,” you admitted.
The line drew you both closer to the front counter.
“I’m sorry, dear, I didn't mean to make you feel self-conscious,” he apologized with a hand on your shoulder.
“Oh—! No you didn't, really! I just don't pay much attention to myself is all—haha,” nervous laughter creaked out of your mouth.
You weren't much of a conversationalist either. Your nervousness clearly showed as you tried to remain calm. What a great first impression this was.
Eclipse seemed to notice your unease, taking away his hand as he inspected you with his optics. He took your word as true. You had bags under your eyes, a faint purple hue dusting them. Your hair a mess, and…was that a grain of rice on your cheek?
“Come here, you have a little something over there,” he motioned his cheek with his hand.
You squeaked in embarrassment, quickly brushing the spot. “Did I get it?” not noticing the grain was still there.
Your coworker smiled. “No, here let me just...” he trailed off. He chuckled as he leaned down, “Silly.” His metallic finger tip made contact with your skin.
His comment was enough to have you feel sparks from your face to the roots of your hair. The gesture alone could set you on fire. Your eyes shut from embarrassment as you felt him gently swipe at the grain. Giving you a satisfied hum, he pulled away.
“There we are, spick and span,” he complimented as he dusted off your shoulder.
The line moved once more. It was your turn to order, but you were wrapped up in staring at your coworker. He maintained eye contact with you, curiously eyeing your face for any other grains. Satisfied when he saw nothing else, he darted his eyes off to the side before looking into yours once more.
“...Do I have something on my face?” he questioned.
“N-no! Uhm…” you trailed off.
“Next in line please,” the staff bot snapped you out of your thoughts.
Shaking the embarrassment off, you walked up to the counter. “Hello! Can I please get two ice cream cones? One vanilla and one neapolitan?”
The staff bot nodded its head and pressed some things into the register screen. “Will that be all for you today?” it asked.
“Yes, please,” you nodded, reaching for your card.
Eclipse snatched your wallet. “Ah-ah—employees eat for free here. Didn't they tell you that?”
You gasped excitedly. “You're right! I can't believe I forgot Pansy mentioned that!” You turned back to the staff bot before quickly whipping your head back to Eclipse. “How—how do I show that I'm an employee? I don't have my name tag with me.”
Your colleague chuckled, glancing down at the blue accessory on your wrist. “You have your daycare watch on, don't you?”
You were immediately thankful you remembered to bring it along with you, but feeling silly you forgot you had it, you tapped at its screen. Flipping through different faces, you landed on your employee ID. Scrolling down did nothing. But when you swiped to the side, the little digital card flipped to show a barcode.
“Do I show them this?” you questioned Eclipse. Making sure to reach your wrist up high enough so he can see.
He delicately held your hand. “Correct!” Giving a pleased nod, he gently brought your hand back to you.
Your excitement bubbled as you showed the staff bot your digital ID. It stared at it briefly before grabbing a hand scanner. The red led light made contact, showing the transfer was complete with a beep.
“Employee number 1-b-987, a pleasure to meet you. I will be right back with your order,” the staff bot disappeared to the back all without turning its back to you.
“PeyPey, please just ping me the next time you want me here,” Caro whispered as she cuddled up with him in the blankets.
You took this moment to examine your coworker. He was true to his word. While his warm color palette and sunny rays were reminiscent of his brother, Sun, his demeanor wasn't like his at all. Sun was, well, very sunny. A literal ball of sunshine. Eager, peppy, joyful, it was enough to make you smile at the memory of your first meeting. Eclipse was more reserved, calm. You haven't had the chance to fully meet Moon beforehand. The only instance being when he apologized for his brother's behavior and quickly introduced himself and the others. Eclipse hasn't lied to you yet, so you could only assume Moon really was as similar.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄
Her boyfriend chuckled as he pulled her in closer. “I will.” His smile widening as he stared into her eyes, “You're really pretty.”
She smiled and rolled her eyes, “Uh-huh, and you're very handsome and pretty and sweet and loving,” she rambled. “But stupid.”
The small animatronic choked on his air. “Nuh-uh, nuh-uh.”
Sun had been sitting on his bed, messing around with a little puzzle cube a child gifted him. “Yea, listen to your girlfriend,” he suggested.
Moon was sitting beside him, watching him fiddle with the piece of plastic, “I agree.”
PeyPey groaned before laughing sheepishly, “Is it because I wanted to go looking for you with only five percent?”
Caro nodded, her eyes never leaving him. “You need to take better care of yourself,” she frowned.
The small animatronic shifted in the nest of blankets. “I will, I'll try to be better, I'm sorry.”
She smiled at him. “Thank you.” She sat up and turned her attention to the twins before her. “Can one of you two get me an order of nachos? The same way Eclipse gets them?”
Moon lifted himself off the bed. “Swimming in hot sauce with jalapeños?” he questioned with a stretch.
She nodded, “Yea! Oh and please tell the interviewee I said sorry, I ran off in the middle of a conversation with them.”
Sun sprang up and nearly tripped over himself, “They're here?? Now??” His lunar brother rubbed his side that he bumped into.
Caro smugly eyed the excited animatronic. “Yessir, they're in the food court with Eclipse.
Chatting up a storm.”
Moon bowed his head, glancing up at his brother. “Well, safe to assume you're coming with me?” he grinned.
Sun excitedly nodded and grabbed hold of his brother's hand. “We'll be back, Caro!” He raced off with Moon catching up to his pace, hand in hand.
PeyPey chuckled. “I think your snack is gonna be a while.”
His girlfriend laughed and cuddled into his embrace. “I don't mind. Now get some rest.”
You stood by with your ice cream cones in hand, talking it up with your coworker as he waited for his order. You learned that he was the youngest of his brothers. The completion for his model was a week after his two brothers were finished. So, by a technicality, Moon and Sun were twins. He was their little brother. But, neither of his older brothers viewed it this way. To them, they were all the same age. Might as well be given the fact they were all checked off as public ready on the same day.
Her boyfriend hummed and held her tighter. “Yes, boss.”
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄
“The day I met them, they were so ecstatic. I could really feel their electricity, you know,” Eclipse reminisced.
He looked longingly at his own hands. “I was so scared, petrified even. The idea that I was to become this extravagant entertainer. It made my casings shake. But, everything came easy once I finally got to meet my brothers,” his hands clasping together.
You smiled at his story, a warm feeling in your chest.
“Sun and Moon…I can't imagine a day without them. I spent my first activation days alone in an empty room. Nobody would talk to me, not even the mechanics. And when I did get to talk to somebody, it was great news! It was Pansy who told me I'd be meeting bots like me—brothers even! Sun was so kind and patient, and Moon was so gentle and made sure I was comfortable in the space I was in. I couldn't have asked for better brothers…Don't tell them I said that, they won't let me live it down,” he laughed and gave you a playful tap on your shoulder.
A whistle fell from your mouth. “I won't tell a soul,” smiling up at him with your proclamation.
His laughter hummed in his chest, “My brothers mean everything to me. They're the reason I can do anything at all. Sun gave me optimism and Moon gave me confidence. One day, I'll pay it back to them. I'll find a way to repay them for everything they've done for me,” he said to himself mainly, but to you as well.
You also learned that Eclipse wouldn't be getting his own smaller friend. It just wasn't planned. PeyPey was assigned to Sun initially, but later on signed off to Eclipse as well. Caro was assigned to Moon exclusively. Each pairing has a special server that allows for exclusive connection and remote controlling. Of course, neither brother felt comfortable enough to use the remote option. Eclipse explained it felt wrong and immoral. Rightfully so. They weren't keen on keeping secrets either. The only time that had ever happened was when Caro had developed feelings for Peypey and would spam Moon's notifications with messages.
Eclipse laughed. “You'd think they were made for each other wouldn't you?”
You urgently nodded, excited to hear more of their pasts.
He sighed. “Truth be told, she was programmed to be Moon's girl.”
You dropped your cones. “Huh?!” A gasp slipped from your mouth as your eyes shot down to your fallen desserts.
Your colleague rumbled with laughter as he reached for napkins. Leaning down, he made quick work of the mess.
“Does that mean PeyPey was supposed to…?” you trailed off in thought as you watched him clean.
“Be with Sun? Nope. The initial idea for our group was to be the guys band. Be the sort of all male talent engine, y’know? Caro wasn't supposed to be able to play any instruments, she was supposed to play the role of Moon's ‘lovely lady.’ Chime in on a few songs here and there. And, I suppose it worked like that for a while. But, neither her nor Moon liked it,” Eclipse sucked in a gulp of air through his teeth. He stood tall.
“Management wouldn't listen to either of them. It became a weekly visit to parts and services for the two of them,” He looked down at the floor. “Constant rewiring…it was awful. I couldn't stand seeing their forced smiles.”
You placed a gentle hand on his, urging him to continue.
A smile crept up on his face. “Sun and PeyPey changed everything. My brother taught Caro how to play guitar, even went out of his way to find internet videos about other instruments and how to play them. PeyPey used all of his free time on Moon and Caro. Showing them ways to calm down and prevent any more visits to parts and services. Pretty soon, PeyPey started developing feelings for her. Just in time too, management couldn't keep up with Moon and Caro. They ultimately decided to give the two and the rest of us free will,” he triumphantly stated.
“Thank you for sharing that with me, Eclipse. I feel honored that you view me as someone you can tell this to.” Your cheeks warm as you give him the most genuine smile he's seen from you.
“And thank you for listening! I didn't mean to ramble that much—you have a really welcoming air about you,” he comments with a spin of his rays.
“Interviewee!” an outburst rang from behind the two of you.
Both of your heads swivel as Sun and Moon make their way to the two of you.
“Speak of the devil,” Eclipse teases you with a gentle jab to your shoulder. You snicker and playfully shove him.
Speak of the devil indeed.
