We shall meet again, under Kakava's shimmering auroras...

"Do stay alive"? Mmm... well, who am I to even dare defying the doctor's orders~?

Kakavasha had been fated to die, ever since he was born on the day of one of the very sparse rains in Sigonia-IV. Blessed with Gaiathra's rain, a lucky child, they said-- and in the end, it was luck of the double-edged sword.

Aventurine, the Stoneheart of Stratagems, had indeed been lucky enough to still be standing after all that he'd been through-- but why has he lived time and time again? Should he not be grateful? And yet he found he never was; for Kakavasha wished to die. Why should he live only to endure more suffering when he could finally find eternal peace?

And when that fated day finally came-- his grand bet, his all in, his final gambit, the most wondrous of performances-- he found himself here.

Not alive, yet not dead, having long since parted with his past self, standing alone in a void of Nihility clutching only the scroll Dr. Veritas Ratio had given him. That Galaxy Ranger had told him that this fated incident was not his end-- that he would live to bet even higher than before. A saving grace, truly-- an angel in the skin of an Emanator.

Maybe this darkness was beautiful, he thought. The stars twinkling in the dark almost reminded him of home; a dimly sparkling reminder that he would see the dawn after all, that there would finally be light waiting for him.

And so he waited, preparing for the day of his rebirth. He would chase his dawn in the form of the golden and crimson-hued irises of the man who has always had his heart, take back his name and avenge the legacy of all Avgins, and see to the destruction of the IPC once and for all.

This Aventurine is canon divergent, simply an idea of what happens to him if and when he survives the Nihility void :)

My Aven takes back his true name and turns to the path of Nihility, and finds his way out in about a year or so after his disappearance. He's finally free from the IPC as they believe him to be dead and Jade has taken his place as the Stoneheart of Preservation, and his goal is to bring the IPC's shady secrets to light and bring the whole organization crashing down.

He still fights with his dice and poker chips, although losing the ability to shield because of his path diversion and instead casting ace cards onto enemies.

(I might add more details later, or link a headcanon post!)

I've been called pretty many, many times, much like the stone I share my name with. I suppose it's true, I do seem to be blessed with good looks... but aventurine stones also have a sharp edge, and that's something you'd be better off remembering.

I'm not afraid to place bets on things that I want, and you'll often find that when I bet on something, I'm not usually wrong. Blessed by luck, blessed by fate-- I've heard it all, but I like to think that in someway, this skill, these wins, are all mine because I've earned them.

Out of character here obviously, but here's some general notes about the canon and interpretations of the characters I play. Not just batman.

Annie Wayne, previously known as Annie Hagen is also adopted. She's from the animated episode "Growing Pains" except she didn't die.

This Bruce is more based off of Lego Batman/animated series Batman/WFA Batman anything else. He is capable of some emotions.

Barbara Gordon is directly part of the Batfamily here. She is close family with both Bruce and his kids. She is not dating any of his kids.

Bruce is trying to learn from the Flash how to do more peaceful conflict resolution.

Carrie is gay, Babs is probably bisexual, Annie is gender fluid, Duela is also gay, and oh boy are we just getting started.

Carrie has a tendancy to date the children of super villains.

Annie is technically the child of Clayface by mitosis.

Duela Dent was Carrie's Ex, they're now besties

Riddler, Harley, Ivy, and Freeze are all villains Bruce deemed "safe enough" for his kids to go to for help.

Harley and Ivy especially are a-ok to go to for help. Babs is close with them especially, but Carrie will go for advice/shits and giggles

Cass and Babs are both being portrayed as at the strongest they've been portrayed, with Oracle being key to Batman's success and Cass being his heir.

Duela calls Riddler "dad" and RiddleGlider "brother"

Duela Dent recently gave up on Eagle after how he treated her while he was in Gotham.

Duela is putting together a supersuit to join the crime fighting, she'll be going by "Batman's daughter" because all her creativity goes into costume design. Not naming.

Ace has minimal powers due to how she saved herself.

i made this blog because i wanted a place for gray aces to feel safe and understood, where we can discuss our thoughts, learn, make cool stuff, connect with each other, explore and celebrate our gray asexuality - because it deserves to be celebrated! 💜

my official stance is that all gray aces are inherently queer and count as asexual (unless they personally choose to identify otherwise). aphobia and exclusionism will not be tolerated here.

other acespecs, allies, and questioning people are also welcome!

definitions

gray asexual (graysexual) - in the gray area between asexual and allosexual. may feel sexual attraction rarely, at a low intensity, or only under very specific circumstances. there is no single way to be gray ace, and it's a very flexible term.

gray aces tend to feel like we don't fully belong in or relate to either camp, which can be pretty isolating. we're extremely underrepresented and often misunderstood.

the gray ace flag

the asexual flag can also be used by gray aces - in fact, the gray stripe in the ace flag is there to represent us.

other acespec identities i post about:

demisexual - only able to experience sexual attraction to people with whom one has a deep interpersonal bond, otherwise being asexual

aegosexual (formerly autochorissexual) - describes a disconnect between one's self and one's sexuality, enjoying the concept of sex at a distance (often through fiction) but having no desire to participate

the demisexual and aegosexual flags

aceflux - asexuality is inconsistent and constantly in flux, changing over time, possibly going from ace to allo and anything inbetween

three versions of the aceflux flag

orchidsexual - feeling sexual attraction, but not wanting to have sex or sexual relationships

cupiosexual - not feeling sexual attraction, but wanting to have sex or sexual relationships. as you can see, these two are pretty much direct opposites.

caedsexual - acespec due to trauma. asexuality isn't typically caused by trauma, but it can be.

the orchidsexual, cupiosexual, and caedsexual flags

there are many more acespec identities, and most of them can be considered subsets of gray asexuality.

black stripe asexuals are, in essence, the opposite of gray aces: they are aces who don't experience any sexual attraction at all (as the black stripe on the asexual flag stands for absense of attraction.)

sex favorable, sex repulsed, sex averse, sex indifferent, and sex ambivalent describe one's personal feelings about either sex in general or specifically having it. (contrary to the stereotype, not all aces are sex repulsed; plenty enjoy sex for reasons other than sexual attraction.)

sex positive and sex negative do NOT mean the same things! these describe ideological positions: are sex and sexuality inherently shameful, impure, and immoral? should we punish certain kinds of people for having certain kinds of sex?

you can be sex repulsed and sex positive, and you should be. ultimately, sex positivity and ace acceptance go hand in hand.

grayphobia is a term i made up because i didn't have other language to describe what i was seeing. it means prejudice specifically against gray aces, as well as demisexuals, sex favorable aces, and all acespecs who don't fit into the "0 sexual attraction, 0 interest in sex" model. grayphobia can come either from allos or from self-described "real" asexuals.

card suits: because asexual often gets shortened to ace, aces often use playing card symbolism. the generally accepted meanings are as follows:

The ♤ (ace of spades) is a good one, you could also use 🖤🤍💜 or 💜🖤 or something similar (always a shame there's no grey heart) a rainbow might be too obvious for you but usually the ace flag isn't very well known or obvious outside of the wider queer community (I have so much aro flag merch for this exact reason). Opening this up to the floor, anyone got ideas?
