Drew this for my home screen. I've been drawing a lot of Pride-related things because I like the idea of customizing my accounts and more. I am sorely tempted to change my phone's app icons

“Gaining confidence in yourself is a lifelong process. It’s sometimes a long and winding road with potholes, roadblocks, and even massive collisions. Even the most confident among us have good days and bad. No one feels like a badass 100% of the time. The most realistic option is to get some basic level of confidence to build on. The best place to start is to know that you, as a person, are worthwhile. You’re worth fighting for; you deserve good things in your life. You deserve to set goals for yourself. You deserve healthy relationships that make you feel good. You deserve to have your voice heard. You deserve to physically present yourself however you want. You deserve to feel at peace with your body. And, if you’re interested in sex, be it by yourself or with partners, you deserve pleasure and joy.”

Can you help me figure out my label?
Do I experience romantic attraction? I think so. Do I experience sexual attraction? Yes. Do I have fantasies about me being in romantic and sexual scenarios with someone? Yes. Do I like those fantasies? Yes. Do I want them to be real? No. Would I feel romantic and/or sexual attraction toward that someone if those fantasies became reality? No.

there is no one moment in my mind where i realized i was asexual. there was no midnight revelation, or tear-stained coming to terms with my identity. i don’t even know how to explain it — i guess when i was like 12-13ish i realized that most people my age had crushes, or had experienced a crush in the past. i hadn’t. so i figured eh, i guess i just don’t get crushes. when i first read about the label ‘asexual’ there was no intense feeling of this is who i am, just the thought of oh, there’s a name for it. cool. i never even realized until recently that people actually want to have sex with the people they have crushes on?? like, seems fake but ok? and the fact that people are sexually active in high school, well, i thought that was only in movies. i don’t really know what the point of this post was. idk man. my sexuality was never really a source of internal strain.

i made a gift for my grandma using this pattern once
Pride Butterflies!
I love these!

I'd only made the one butterfly before; I'd been planning to make at least trans pride butterflies for the queer maker's market, and a couple days before it I finally did - and went through all my cotton yarn to see how many pride flag colours I could make with what I had. Which was these five!
(I want to make more pride colour combinations - of butterflies and otherwise - but I may have to dye some of my favourite cotton yarn myself for the colours I want.)
As it is, I had or could get my hands on easily, in cotton, things for asexual/demisexual, aromantic/agender, intersex, nonbinary, and trans. The butterflies work with a max of four colours - three is better.
They also look very not like butterflies as they go - squares, then flowers, thematically appropriate!

All the first ones I made!

Then I decided that was enough for one day! (Actually I went to take an afternoon nap and didn't get up until after midnight. Spoonie problems. I'm still recovering from the market prep/market itself, honestly.)
I made 11 butterflies the next day, and I did it in stages, which is not usually how I work on things even when I'm making several/more.
Made a crop of inner wings, then added outer wings, then did all the bodies/antennae all at once.
(That may have been a mistake; that's the most frustrating part. >.>)

Obviously I also branched out into combining the colours in different ways in the butterflies.
I also made five more while I was sitting at the market; after the first couple of pride butterflies I stopped having to look at the pattern, and they're fun and easy for me to work, need no marking places and easily recheckable counting, small. . .
The ones I made at the market:

Some of the variations together!

(I sold one ace, one nonbinary, and three trans butterflies at the market - in fact, one of the trans ones was part of the very first sale I made that day, ~45 minutes before the market opened officially!)
I'll probably make more, definitely when I get colours to make more different pride flag combinations, and . . . add them to the basket?

(Project on Ravelry)
