Ahhh so many! So generous friend! Tempted to answer them all as just one oc but what a nice challenge to choose a different oc for each question!

1. JJ—- JJ identifies as trans masc non binary, what this means to him is that his gender isn’t important but they tend to sway more masculine then feminine. Although because they are non binary he will occasionally try more feminine styles as he gets comfortable with himself. JJ takes testosterone and has had top surgery which immesenly helps any dysphoria and allows that exploration into feminine expression. Basically if JJ was born a cisgender male they’d still be non binarh.

2 & 14. Lyle! Lyle is queer/questioning. He, Kian and Jj are just a few of my characters on the ace/aro spectrum. For Lyle he’s Demi sexual and rangers from hyper-sexual to sex repulsed! Lyle doesn’t think about it all that much because it’s never been an “issue” in a relationship.

4. Luz’s family tries to be supportive but tends to fail, the impact means Luz doesn’t celebrate themselves as they should and feels awkward being openly queer around family and tends to hide away that part- although not literally they are out but without much queer cantered support.

10. Bex goes all out for pride! The fit is picked months before, hair, nails, decor and clothes all chosen to give off the biggest lesbian vibes! She adores the parades but lives for pride nights in clubs. She’s always excited to see the drag queens and get inspo for more looks and loves talking their ears off!

19&20. For me it’s important to show the homo/transphobia that’s more hidden and quiet. It gets to you over time that those around you aren’t trying to support or understand. As well as how hard it can be to have a religious person in the family telling you that you are wrong. There’s lots of examples of transphobia that is in the public eye but I’d like to show it behind closed doors and just how subtle it can be. JJ is probably the oc that helps me the most, to accept my blackness and queerness without erasing the me of the past totally. I write them and feel inspired to follow their footsteps and try old “feminine” things that brought me joy but I stopped to “pass more”.

Mip is trans feminine!

Mip’s a lesbian. She doesn’t really have any opinions on it Mip just thinks women are pretty.

3. How did your oc discover themself? Did something cause them to question, or did they always know?

Mip didn’t always know. It’s just when she heard what Trans Feminine was she was like, “Oh, that’s how I feel!” And just went on with life now knowing its identity.

4. Is your oc's environment supportive about their identity? How does this impact them?

Yeah! They’re an alien in space. Homophobia and transphobia doesn’t really exist in any species other than humans. None of the alien characters in the story are queerphobic in any way. It doesn’t really impact Mip in any way as being queer isn’t really seen as anything different.

5. How did you figure out your oc's identity?

I just wanted to make a lesbian love story about an alien and an astronaut and thought “but what if they were t4t?”

6. How does your oc feel about labels? Theirs, or in general?

It doesn’t really have opinions on labels. She has labels and it uses them when it needs to, but she doesn’t really have an opinion on labels other than they exist.

7. Is there something that could cause your oc to question their identity? What?

No not really. Once Mip heard was trans fem was, she knew that’s what she was and continued on in life without ever questioning it again. She’s always know she’s a lesbian because it has always been attracted to women.

Nope.

No not really that I can think of. She’s an alien so the labels she uses are different than the labels we use on earth, but the labels she uses are the alien equivalents to lesbian and trans fem for her species.

Pride month isn’t really a thing in space. There’s never been any queer phobia so there was never a need for a pride month. Also time is different where Mip lives compared to earth because it’s in a different solar system. But if Luna introduced her to Pride Mip would be more than happy to celebrate!

Yeah she’s pretty open. Everyone is. There isn’t a reason for any of the aliens in space to hide their identities.

i do!! quite a few actually. helena (svu oc <3) is asexual, i JUST made an aromantic oc who i've yet to intro in Any capacity (soon soon after im done being ill <3), and i have a bunch of demisexual (cordelia, murphy, etc) and demiromantic (declan, jo, etc) ocs!! there are a bunch actually but ill spare you the full details xoxo

Ash [@changeling-ash] (she/her)

She is so cool. My little self insert. My baby. Epic powerful magic.

Ash was part of a secret subspecies of humans (Homo sapiens dimutus) which could shapeshift, which she used to grow huge black wings or turn into a black leopard or look like a monster to scare enemies, anything as long as her brain stayed the same size or got denser to fit smaller. When she shapeshifted she would release green and blue fire from the power of the transformation (cause she has lots of copper in her blood that burns green. To protect against cancer, you see. Shapeshifting has lots of cancer risk so copper is sooo important)

She became one by genetic engineering at 15 so the dimutus could get more soldiers and spies for a war with the demon-like psyuedos (child soldier lol). She could come back to life because she had a failsafe that would activate where she would shapeshift away the wound and her brain would jolt back online. The only way to kill a dimutus was to kill the brain.

Like other dimutus, she could also dimension hop, so she'd travel the multiverse, from tv show to tv show or to the universe with dragons or with cool landscapes. She was good with a sword and something called a bladed quarterstaff, which is basically one of those two sided lightsabers but a blade. She was mentored by one of the most powerful dimutus of the war and is super powerful too compared to other dimutus.

Okay time for my propaganda once more!

Ash is my girl, my baby.

She has TWO dragons. The first one is Flicker, who is strong and agile with black scales and a violet belly. Ash rides on her back and she speaks dragon at her. Her other dragon is Zephyr, who she raised from an egg and he looks like a blue sky with white patches like clouds, and random little flecks of gold scales. He's lithe and fast and so agile. She can summon them from their alternate universes by calling out "Tul Lüg" for Flicker and "Zep-iagh" for Zephyr, and they leap from portals to fight.

She can speak so many languages. The language of Dimutus is actually Modernized Latin. She knows English, Spanish, French, Latin, Italian, ASL, and has the best translators.

She made friends with a shadowy wolf companion called a Shadowlupe who accepted her as part of the pack. She runs with him in hunts as a wolf.

She can do a double backflip. Enough said.

She would fly with huge black wings, it was her favorite thing to do. Knew how to do all the tricks. She is dimension hopping miles in the air just to fall for ages, then fly at breakneck speeds. And she was terrifying in battle, she would dodge and weave and slash as she passed, an airborne killing machine.

She could give herself big springy legs to jump so high and do crazy tricks. She adapted herself to move fast, bounce and parkour her way at insane speeds. She could traverse so well.

She also did normal parkour. It was a fun challenge to try with minimal modifications. Pretended a lot of parkour POV vids were her.

She had two cats trained to infiltrate bases cause they are kitties and can fit through the vents and no one suspects the kitties. Baya was a Bengal and Shadow was a beautiful medium hair black cat.

She could also dimension hop in a way that was like astral projecting. She'd just be floatin, near invisible. She'd keep her wings in that state to pull them from the dimension fast to use them quickly. Her friends would chill there and comment to her while she was doing boring things.

She had a ragtag best friend and copilot partner Katie that was the mostest important person to her. Her brother in arms, her guy in the chair, her support, and Ash was the same to Katie. They were ride or die, and they died a lot for each other. (I basically made a QPP a decade before I myself ended up in one. Probably an early sign I was aro.)

She lost her arm sometimes, and she'd have a badass prosthetic if she couldn't shapeshift it back right away.

So much trauma from being a child soldier will come later. Her future character with me a decade later is somethin.

seeing how austria as a real life country is surrounded by countries that have capitals/large cities that are more queer than not, i'd say that austria could be pretty gay-friendly. so, in the context of austria as a character, i'd say her environment is decent at least. if we were talking characters-wise though, they've definitely faced homo/transphobia,, especially by prussia (we'll get into him next)

what role she has to play in what scenario, i think... i'd imagine austria as being more fluid with gender, but leans much less on masculinity. they can probably take on that role if she really needs to though

Not really. I do have one character that's trans but she's a cousin, super side-character, and I pretty much decided she was based on the hair the game picked when aging.

I prefer to not name them but I DO give them a label. When they're born I roll for sexual preference with a D10, which basically works like a spectrum (though I don't record the specific position, just in general how straight/not they are, or A if that's what it landed on). I have changed the results depending on the story requirements or if I'm pairing the sim with another person. Blaze, for example, didn't roll bi to begin with, I changed it to that because who her spouse will be.

19. Do you have preferences about depicting homo/transphobia in your stories? What, and why? Does it vary by story?

Well I have only the one story and I do show some (mild) levels of phobia/hate. Not within the family though, it's been important for me that they're accepting and open, because the story started on a foundation of Utopia. In sims their lives are happy, and there's no big real life problems...and that's how my story started. So the nucleus of the story/family is like that. Outside of the family though my characters might have encountered hate/bullying. However my heirs have rolled Straight so far so it's been more displaced phobia based on their appearance than what they are.

14. Do you have ocs on the aro or ace spectrum?

19. Do you have preferences about depicting homo/transphobia in your stories? What, and why? Does it vary by story?

 It does vary across wips, but as a major theme or obstacle for the characters, yes. I do try to avoid it in my writing in general because I experience it enough in real life, but does sometimes pop up as background noise. But that's all it really is, background noise. It's not something the characters have to worry about to much, but what's 'normal' may pop up sometimes, and I decide to leave it because it can help confirm the character's identity when it's really hard in high fantasy. 

And in TCIO, which is in a modern setting, the city is based on our world right now, especially in the US, so bigotry in general does pop up in the background often- but it's not the biggest obstacle the superheroes have to deal with compared to supervillains and fighting crime and police brutality towards powered people, and it's not a major stressor for the characters.
