I just realized something and it’s kinda blown me away. So at the beginning Leon is convinced that “the cop inside me died that day.” When he gets to the cabin instead of asking about Ashley like in the original he asks, in Spanish, “I’m looking for a police officer, have you seen him?”

At first you assume “wow capcom made it more believable, he knows Spanish now. And it makes sense he doesn’t reveal he’s looking for someone on a top secret mission.” And I thought so too. But I realized, it’s a symbolic question of sorts. Throughout the story, whether he realizes it or not, Leon is searching for the cop that used to be inside of him. Not so much the cheerful youth, but the one who was passionate about helping people.

It’s clear he never got the time or help to recover from his trauma and going through the events of 4 helps him sort through his feelings and realize that his efforts aren’t wasted and he hasn’t been turned into a cold person and that it’s okay to care even if things don’t always turn out the best.

That’s why “it has to be different”, whether he realized it or not he needed to prove to himself that he was still there inside,that his good spirit hadn’t truly died, and that his efforts aren’t wasted. I believe a part of him deep down didn’t want it to die.

question for usa followers (i guess). how accurate/reliable is the national enquirer? because i saw an issue of it in a store here in the uk claiming that some actors have crossed the picket lines regarding the strike because their productions have interim agreements and like... are they at all reliable? are they stirring the pot?

i did a quick google and while they seem about as moral as any other tabloid (which is. not very) i'm not clear on what the general consensus is? like, are they generally considered to be not worth the time?
