Queen - The Show Must Go On 1991

Innuendo is the fourteenth studio album by the British rockband Queen, released on 4 February 1991. It was the band's last album to be released in lead singer Freddie Mercury's lifetime. It reached the number 1 spot on the UK album charts for two weeks, and also peaked at number 1 in Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland, staying at the top for three weeks, four weeks, six weeks, and eight weeks, respectively. It was the first Queen album to go Gold in the US upon its release since The Works in 1984.

The album was recorded between March 1989 and November 1990. In the spring of 1987, Mercury had been diagnosed with AIDS, although he kept his illness a secret from the public and denied numerous media reports that he was seriously ill. The band and producers were aiming for a November or December release date in order to catch the crucial Christmas market, but Mercury's declining health meant that the release of the album did not take place until February. Nine months after the album was released, Mercury died of AIDS-derived bronchopneumonia.

"The Show Must Go On" was written by Brian May, based on a chord sequence he had been working on. May decided to use the sequence, and both he and Mercury decided the theme of the lyrics and wrote the first verse together. From then on May finished the lyrics, completed the vocal melody and wrote the bridge, inspired by Pachelbel's Canon. The song chronicles the effort of Mercury continuing to perform despite approaching the end of his life. When the band recorded the song in 1990, Mercury's condition had deteriorated to the point that May had concerns as to whether he was physically capable of singing it. May recalls; "I said, 'Fred, I don't know if this is going to be possible to sing.' And he went, 'I'll fucking do it, darling' — vodka down — and went in and killed it, completely lacerated that vocal".

The song was initially not released as a single as part of promotion for the Innuendo album, but was released in October 1991 as the band launched their Greatest Hits II album. The video for the song featured a compilation of clips from all their videos since 1982. Due to Mercury's critical health at the time of its production, a fresh appearance by the band in a video was not possible.

"The Show Must Go On" was released as a single in the UK on 14 October 1991, just six weeks before Mercury died. Following his death on 24 November 1991, the song re-entered the British charts and spent as many weeks in the top 75 (five) as it did upon its original release, initially reaching a peak of 16. In 1992, the song was released as a double A-side with "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the US and reached number 2 in the US.

It was first played live on 20 April 1992, during The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, performed by the three remaining members of Queen, with Elton John singing lead vocals and Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi playing rhythm guitar. A different live version featuring Elton John on vocals later appeared on Queen's Greatest Hits III album.

Since its release, the song has appeared on television and film, including Moulin Rouge!.

David Arnold’s ‘end of the world’ complex and multi-genre soundtrack.

From the Award-winning composer of Sherlock and Casino Royale comes a follow up to the hugely successful, Emmy nominated Good Omens soundtrack.

Good Omens series 2 premiered on Prime Video on 28th July. The series follows the odd couple, angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and demon Crowley (David Tennant) in their quest to sabotage the end of the World. The six-episode sequel to the popular adaptation of the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, concerns the Archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) arriving without his memories to Aziraphale’s bookshop. Aziraphale and Crowley attempt to find out what happened to Gabriel, whilst hiding him from Heaven and Hell, both eager to find him.

The Soundtrack

David Arnold’s soundtrack to Good Omens was first released in 2019 to favourable reviews, with BBC Music Magazine calling it “a rollicking trip to hell and back”. Blueprint Magazine described it as “a great listen” and Sci Fi Bulletin commented on “plenty of memorable themes” to conclude that “This is another work of art from Arnold”. At times nostalgic and eerie but always varied, beautiful and full of excitement, the Good Omens 2 soundtrack showcases Arnold’s every skill from his composer arsenal. Featured here are orchestral arrangements with sprinkling of Sugar Plum Fairy pizzicato and percussion, jaunty strings and mighty choral sweeps from Crouch End Festival Chorus. Added to the mix are rock guitar riffs, and psychedelic 70s sounds and all together they create a haunting otherworldly feel, complementing the fantasy and the quirky humour of the show. The spirited Waltz of the opening theme is also present in the second series and it wonderfully sets the scene for fantastical mayhem. In series 2, this robust, evocative, and funny music entity, becomes yet again another character in the story. Award-winning composer David Arnold is well known for his blockbuster scores, including Stargate, The Chronicles of Narnia: the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Hot Fuzz, Paul, Independence Day, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Casino Royale as well as for his TV work such as Sherlock and Dracula. This Kinktober event is geared specifically to the Interview with the Vampire fandom and vampires, but we would like to invite any and all fandoms to participate. Even if your fandom doesn't have vampires these prompts work across the board, so you can create vampire content with your characters (or leave out vampires altogether if you want)!

Remember Who Gave It To You

The Israelites spent four hundred years living as slaves. When they finally stood on the edge of the Promised Land, God had a warning… not about the giants they would face nor the battles they would fight. His warning was about wealth and success.

Oftentimes, when some folks have little, they cling to God. But when they have much, they are tempted to forget Him. It is the same today. When the business grows, when the bank account fills, when the opportunities overflow… there is a dangerous lie that creeps into the heart: “I built this. I earned this.” But the Word of God shatters that pride. “You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth.” (Deuteronomy 8v18 NKJV)

David understood this when God’s people gave generously to build the temple. He prayed, “All things come from You, and of Your own we have given You… God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house… is all Your own” (1 Chronicles 29:14, 16 NKJV). Solomon, David’s son, carried that truth forward: “As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God”(Ecclesiastes 5v19 NKJV).

You worked hard? Good. But who gave you the breath to rise in the morning? Who gave you the mind to think, the hands to build, the favor to be seen, and the strength to keep standing when others fell? It was not you alone. It was never you alone. God says, “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go” (Isaiah 48:17 NKJV).

Always remember… never forget the Source, never forget the Hand that lifted you and honor the Giver, not just the gift.

what if bridon arc but i pay attention to the times (ep 1) (at least the ones that i can notice since some look like they have something but then i cant make it out so shrug)

im really bad at dates so bear with me here. dates will be added to time when i can see it on that frame but unless stated otherwise just assume theyre following each other in order

23:10 - they hide in the darkroom

23:11 - he pauses before rushing to xiaoshi who is laying on the ground. xiaoshi takes his hand, apologies and tells him 'save them'

00:04 - lu guang is upstairs getting the photo (HE SPENT AN HOUR WITH XIAOSHIS DEAD BODY IM-)

00:05 (09-13) - he goes back in time

17:32 - he ends up back in the past (assumedly. his watch is missing but its the time on the photo)

05:29 (04-12) (it then ticks to 05:30) - bruhs sitting on his bed thinking. his eyes are still gold

05:31 - he puts his hands down

05:33 - he replies to xiaoshis text, see below (THATS AFTER TWELVE HOURS PASSED IM. i didnt think about this cause they didnt really do much time travel so i wasnt thinking of like seeing it in the present but that it happened in the past so i. om.)

08:00 - xiaoshi is in his bed looking at his phone, at lu guang's contact (google translate tells me xiaoshi tells him that they should play basketball together tomorrow)

when he stops by at the time where he probably helps them paint the building his eyes are normal colored

13:30 (06-09) - xiaoshi is there to take pictures of the main coser (lu guang) of the anime club

12:30 probably..? (next day) - they arrive at the convention

13:34 - they get the kung fu master package (the bag) and qiao ling leaves to get it

next day at 7:20-ish pm - lu guang has their phones on call and puts one in xiaoshi's breast pocket

8 pm - xiaoshi meets vivian who thinks he is zhou xun

21:46 - vivian seemingly texted the bad guy (idk name) that xiaoshi (who she thinks is zhou xun) took the bait (again im using google translate so idk)

??? - vivian says that lu guang could get hurt (as an example, if he wanted to run away if he joined them?)

whatever this time is - vivian pretends to hurt him and has him fake his death

the guys enter the room

revealed vivian betrayed the bad guys, and xiaoshi n lu guang run away

11:30 - zhou xun sees the news of vivian being a suspect (his text to her is about meeting again since he missed it yesterday)
