So going back on my "What if Robin and the Riddler had to team up because Batman was incapacitated?" bullshit again. But since the original image that inspired it was the one of Riddler and Molly (in disguise as Robin) wearing helmets in the car, I am now envisioning this:

Riddler: *Giddily climbing into the driver's side of the vehicle*

Robin: "...Are you sure you should be the one driving?"

Riddler: "Of course. You don't have a license, do you, Boy Wonder?"

Robin: "I have a learner's permit."

Riddler: *triumphantly raising a finger.*

Riddler: "Ah, but you do not have a licensed driver in the car, and unlike you, I have no qualms about breaking the law!"

Robin: *snaps fingers in annoyance*

Robin: "Holy misdemeanor!"

Robin Hurt Foot Part 2

The writing gods have blessed me tonight!! Better part 2 with actual editing..

“Dick Grayson!! Why are you limping like that?!” Aunt Harriet runs over to her nephew reaching out. “A-And a pair of crutches?!”

“It was just an accident Aunt Harriet, I’ll be ok. Just need to stay off it for a few days.”

“What in heaven’s name happened?” She looked like she was going to faint.

“Bruce and I were out hunting-“ Dick started trying to come up with a plausible explanation.

“One of the spare blanks went off and got him in the foot.” Bruce finished walking up to steady his ward as he rocked unsteadily.

“He was shot?”

“With a blank! It’s not that big of a deal and-“ He regretted saying that at her look of anger and worry. “I-I mean-“

“He has strict orders to keep the foot propped up and to stay off it for three days.” Bruce reassured the older lady. “Come now, deep breaths. I can’t have two of you going down on me. I took him to the hospital as soon as it happened.”

“I told you both that I don’t like the idea of you hunting and now this..” She shakes her head taking a deep breath. She held the door open that led to the living room so her nephew could limp in.

“Holy one foot… this is harder than it looks.” Dick grumbled as he was forced to let Bruce help him limp to the couch. He winced as his foot hit his mentor’s leg with one lop sided hop.

“Easy, chum. I’ve got you. We’re almost there.” Bruce looked over his ward’s head to see Alfred. Their eyes met, Dick needed another one of the BatCillen Lozenges.

Carefully he helped the teen sit down then lay back. Dick’s aunt hovered nervously handing pillows over so they could make something for him to prop it up with.

“Aunt Harriet, why don’t you go make Dick some Milk and Cookies. I’m sure it would help him feel better.”

“Cookies!? At a time like this?” She asked almost insulted.

Dick winced as he leaned back getting comfortable as he could, “…maybe some tea and cookies?”

“Oh alright…” She hurried off leaving them behind.

“Here, suck on this.” He pushed the lozenge into the teen’s mouth. “It’s another one of the medicated bat lozenges. It was time for another one.”

“I kind of figured when it hurt earlier…they taste awful.”

“Better than being stuck in the hospital, chum.”

“As always you’re right… but what about Shame?”

Bruce stood to his full height checking on the offended injured foot. He gently felt around it, “I’m keeping an eye on him… I doubt he will make himself known. After all, he injured Robin. Of all the people out there, he would not want Batman to see him… possible revenge and all that.”

“But Bruce, you don’t believe in revenge.”

He gave a half smile half smirk looking down at his ward, “That depends on what sort of revenge one is speaking about.”

Dick couldn’t tell if his mentor was joking or not. He wasn’t able to focus on it too much when a hand squeezed his foot a little too hard, he cried out in pain.

He should know better than to bring it up. Bruce was always a bit over protective when he got hurt on patrol, this time was no different.

“You always said revenge doesn’t do anything… once you get revenge on one person, it just continues to grow and you can’t stop it…”

“Shame doesn’t know this and it will keep him in hiding. I just need you to sit, relax and heal so you can join me in taking him down.” The other reassured. He pulled the ahgan off the back of the couch and tucked the teen in with it before sitting down on the ground pulling out one of the books Dick had been reading. He starts to read it out loud hoping it would help keep his Ward’s spirits high.

Who do you prefer, Mad Hatter or Mr Freeze?

See this one is hard... in the 1966 Universe I prefer the original Mr. Freeze (from s1). I just loved how his character came right out of the 1950s. After that first iteration though, the other two Mr. Freeze('s?) weren't my fave.

So Mad Hatter for the 1966 Batman wins for me!

He's hilarious and over the top. He doesn't beat my love for King Tut though. XD that man is just an inspiration!!

In the other universes, I prefer Mr. Freeze like from Batman and Robin (the movie) and from TABS. XD

First part of my research essay involves watching the 1966 live action movie and the 2022 movie back to back. So cool to see how Batman and his movies have changed over time. It also low key gave me whiplash and I had to adjust the brightness of my laptop.

A bit of clarification for those who read this far before voting! By one-shot villains, I mean anyone who isn't Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman, or Joker. Because while they are great villains and I love them, they also had their own competitions already and so I wanted to give the option to include them or to just focus on the non-big four.

Preliminary Round: Mr. Freeze

So because there were three separate actors who portrayed Mr. Freeze in the 1966 Batman series, I had originally intended just to feature one of them in the main bracket, but I wasn't sure which one. Of course, I have my biases, but I thought I might leave it to you all to decide which Freeze you wanted:

Originally referred to as "Mr. Zero" in the comics, the 1966 Batman series is actually where he was renamed Mr. Freeze, though here, his real name was given as Dr. Schivel. Though Batman: The Animated Series would give us the backstory we know and love today, the 1960s show did attempt to introduce a somewhat sympathetic backstory for the character. Here, he was embittered by an accident which resulted in his being unable to survive outside of subzero temperatures, and desired revenge, with Batman feeling responsible for his condition.

I was unable to find information as to why George Sanders was unable to return as Mr. Freeze after the first season, but if I had to guess, I'd say it was probably scheduling conflicts, since he wouldn't be the only one that happened to. Otto Preminger portrayed the frozen felon in his first season 2 appearance, but due to difficulties in working with him, his final season 2 appearance saw Eli Wallach cast in the role.

Sarah Grayson / Girl Wonder was made when I was really young.

The 1960s Bat Girl drove me crazy because of how useless she was and was just there to look pretty.

I wanted a super hero who would just “fit” in and so I made Sarah.

After her introduction, I really try hard to not make her the main character.

She is Dick Grayson’s twin sister and I’ve written her into the 66 Batman, Super Friends and TABS. Recently I worked her into the Batman and Robin movie because that bat girl only wears her cowl once! Talk about art references 😂

I’m so glad that people like her. She’s my oldest OC and very dear to me! 🥰
