I know well, that Konig is from Austria and German language is a bit different from Austrian. The only reason, I'm doing this list for German language instead of Austrian: I know German well enough to personally check every phrase on my list. I live in southern Germany since 2019 and understand written Austrian, but would not venture to make a similar list for phrases in Austrian.

These phrases are not headcanons - just useful helpers for my fellow ficwriters!

I`ve tried to keep this list SFW, so there is no really kinky stuff or any swear words. But if you guys are interested - I can try to bring such a naughty list together as well.

Neither English nor German are my first languages, so there's a possibility of a mistake always.

So, you want König to speak German in your story, but don't know how to get him to? There is nothing easier.

(very) Ground rules

All nouns, names (and nicknames) are always capitalized.

Here are a few useful letters, so that you don't search for them on your keyboard: ä, ö, ü, Ä, Ö, Ü.

"my/your + masculine noun" = mein/dein + noun or name (e.g. Mein Horangi)

"my/your + feminine noun" = meine/deine + noun or name (e.g. Meine Josephine)

"chen" is a diminutive suffix (We'll need that with pet names).

Keywords to google: Kosename (+ für Männer/für Frauen (for men and women))

Genderless (can be used, referring to both men and women, depending on relationship dynamic):

Schatz / Schatzi - the ultimate killer and number one pet name out there. "Treasure". Is very often used in public.

Frieren Anime & Manga Spoiler Warning !!!

I don’t think enough people talk about these beautiful, subtle parallels between Stark and Himmel. This is largely because we’re already used to accepting the Frieren — Himmel and Stark — Eisen parallels, but there is SO MUCH that these two similarly encompass that I’m absolutely enamored with!!

The first and probably most apparent one is their charisma with townspeople and children. In all these flashbacks we see Himmel playing with children and running errands around town; and we see Stark idly doing the same during downtime periods. It’s just inherently in their nature to help people whenever able, and they end up beloved in every town they touch as a result.

But apart from that, isn’t it interesting how they’re both “fake” Heroes? Stark was lauded as a hero of the village for keeping the solar dragon at bay, even if he’d “not done anything”; and Himmel was lauded as a hero despite not being the true wielder of the Hero’s Sword. They’re acknowledged as true heroes despite their origins being fraudulent, yet they both grew into the image that was molded for their likeness. Himmel defeated the Demon King, and Stark defeated the solar dragon—but to the people en masse, the reality leading up to it wasn’t known.

I wanted to go on this tangent because in the anime, so much emphasis was placed on Stark resonating with the Hero’s Sword—this was absolutely deliberate. We know that Stark’s self image is far from ideal; he still thinks himself a coward, and he couldn’t fathom himself similar to Himmel.

And it’s such a tragic thing—he doesn’t realize just how similar he really is. Stark is a true Hero in the making, and we get little sprinkles and tidbits of him doing so; they do it in such a quiet, but such a powerful way. We’re watching him develop into the kind of person he wants to be.

Hahaha and should i mention the lotus jewelry motifs because those speak for themselves like come ON!!!! I rest my case they’re both <3333

hello anon!! this is a heartwrenching ask! klJBLSKJDFLSD but it also made me think. and the conclusion i ended up with turned out more life-affirming than sad

in a lukerosa universe, if mc does not reciprocate, i dont think that luke would be like.....completely devastated.

of course, i still do think that he wouldnt take it well, especially in the beginning. i think that he would go through a bit of a dark period in life, because in the route where luke does get with mc, it's clearly shown that mc's intervention (which happened due to her developing romantic feelings) is what made him start to turn a new leaf and stop being as self-isolating and self-destructive. he learns to be better because of her love. so if she doesnt reciprocate, i definitely think he'll be Rather Down About It, very much in the way that you describe: "you shouldnt love me anyways" this quiet, almost gentle self-deprecating and self-punishing view of "oh, i deserve this. i deserve to be unloved."

but thats where hes wrong

because i still do believe that even in a world where mc isnt romantically interested in him, that she still obviously loves and cares about him. it may not be in the same way that he loves her, but that love and care is still absolutely real, and still absolutely has the power of change that her romantic love did.

in essence: just because shes not in love with him, doesnt mean she doesnt still love him. she would still want him to live well, to be happy, to take care of himself

and that, i think, would still incite luke to better himself. it'll take a loooooot of work, obvi, but he's never been one to deny his beloved anything, even if it turns out to be one-sided

in addition to all this, my view is that luke's romantic love for mc is like.....not particularly hinged on reciprocity

it just is

he loves her the same way the sun always rises, like universal truth that reveals itself day after day. he loves her the same way he inhales and exhales, he loves her the same way tomorrow will always come. his love is not something that needs to be "paid" or "rewarded", even if that would be nice. his love is simply absolute. no strings attached. luke's love strikes me as "i love you, and it's okay that you dont love me the same way. i still love you and i will always hope that you find happiness and joy."

sorry to reference another media, but it's kinda like in Frieren: luke is very Himmel The Hero-coded when it comes to his love. the same way himmel lived through his whole life and died loving frieren, feeling no resentment yet also no decrease on his love despite never being reciprocated in his lifetime, i see as also luke also loving along this same vein.

he'll need to work on his self-loathing and commit to being a better person to himself, yes, but i dont think it would be the end of his world if he were not loved back romantically

after the initial heartbreak, he will still see that he is loved, be it in different ways

and that makes a difference

Frieren loses her ring, but she does not “panic.” Fern and Stark ought to, though.

“Frieren-sama, don’t you seem too relaxed in this situation?” The purple-haired mage says, looking apprehensive towards her teacher.

“Fern is right. Himmel the Hero did give that ring, and it signifies eternal love!" Stark affirms vehemently, echoing Fern's sentiments. Despite Frieren's composed demeanor, Stark perceives an underlying sense of discomfort that is troubling Frieren deeply.

The three adventurers found themselves in the heart of a dense forest, far removed from either Ende or anything resembling civilization. Exhausted and shaken by the trials they had endured on their journey, they came to a unanimous decision to pause and rest. It was a much-needed respite, an opportunity to catch their breath and recuperate before continuing on their quest.

That is until when Fern woke up to a surprise.

“Uhh, Frieren-sama, you’re awake? For the first time, you actually beat me to this…” The recently woken mage remarks sarcastically. However, she changes her attitude the moment she sees Frieren in quite a dubious aura.

“I lost it.” The elf sighs.

“Huh?” Fern replies.

“The ring.”

"I already told you, Himmel had no knowledge of that. Now let's focus on the bracelet that you gave to Fern, Stark." Frieren stops abruptly and locks her gaze on Stark.

“Hey, I was not aware of that either!" Stark quickly becomes defensive and shoots a glance at Fern. It's clear that the topic is making them both feel uneasy.

“Frieren-sama, even Stark was not aware of it yet," Fern's eyes soften as she looks at Frieren, then down at her bracelet, "I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you.

“I absolutely cherish the gift he gave me. Losing it would definitely be a cause for concern.”

“Fern, I have magic to back me up, like last time—”

“But even after hours of searching, the magic is no longer helpful. And that ring... it's irreplaceable! Frieren-sama, Himmel can't buy you another one, and I know you can't either. It's too precious to you.”

“Fern…” Frieren glances down at the ground.

“She is right.” Stark speaks up.

"If I were in your shoes, I would be expressing all of my worries. You shouldn't feel ashamed because it's normal to feel worried about something that is so important to you, especially if it was given to you by someone special." Suddenly, Frieren realized that she had been hiding her emotions so well that it seemed like second nature to her.

She lost the ring. The magic isn’t helping. She isn’t panicking.

She is spiralling.

"May I express my concern for you? I sense something in your mana...it feels overwhelming." Fern's words were interrupted by a series of sniffs.

Frieren weeps, "I can't lose it", as flashbacks flood her mind of the moment Himmel gave her the ring with a silly expression. It was so obvious.

It all came down to love. She realized too late that it was the only thing that mattered. Losing the beloved ring was the only way she could see it.

Just as when Stark was going to pat her back, she switches back to a more serious tone.

"Stark, return the grimoire to me right now. I am determined to find this ring, no matter how long it takes." Fern's words were spoken with newfound confidence, surprising both Stark and the elf herself. In response to her resolute tone, Stark promptly handed over the spell book without hesitation.

After a week-long search, she finally found the ring. It was lying near a cluster of rocks that had a strong anti-magic field. It was apparent that some demon might have snatched it and then abandoned it there.

Now, Fern may be strict when it comes to spending time on trivial matters. Much more if it is a week in the subject. But this is no trivial matter, this is love, and Fern seems to acknowledge that.

She looks at Frieren, all happy and satisfied, back to her usual self like falling for painfully obvious mimics, collecting fake copies of Flamme’s notes…

The young mage has learned a lot from her teacher, one is being a good spell caster, and another is that love triumphs all.

To think that a way or another my silly little me has reached other's hearts ... It's impressive.... It's unbelievable... It's warm...
